Resolved Question: Why can't they find a way to use targeted advertising on television?

This is what makes television advertising so annoying. Besides the stupidity they like to employ, people are always seeing ads for products they are not in the market for or never use. For instance, I doubt if a household of three males needs to see ads for Tampax, Cover Girl MakeUp more

Resolved Question: How should I advertise my LinkedIn profile given these circumstances?

I currently work for a wealth management company (advises the rich with their money), but I am working on my business on the side. My business will instead focus on providing financial planning services/advisory to the middle class (I will be open to everyone, not just the rich). I feel that it is the non-rich folks who needs the most help and I am working on a business to help them. I would like to start using LinkedIn to open up my network and I would like to include some of my current coworkers. They know how I work and they are still great as far as networking goes, but I hate to still be employed by my current employer and then doing my business on the side as well since they are the same business except I just have a different target market. What do you recommend? more

Well, Majestic's Head Chef is endorsing it! They r introducing Café Velvet in all their hotels. Café Velvet is also talking to the supermarkets, apparently. SD: What can we do? R u talking to the other hotel chains? Any ideas on who we can get to endorse our product? We need to talk to the supermarket about our new campaign. MM: Yes, our department has already braintormed a shortlist of possible celebrity names. And we have drawn up an action plan to target supermarkets. We aim to put these plans before the board next week. SD: Good to see a sense of urgency. Don't forget to survey other hotel chains. We can't rely on one chain in the current situation. Resolved Question: What business idea should I choose?

I am 13. Over the summer, I want to start an online business. I am currently taking a Business Camp at my school. My ultimate goal is to make six or more figures a year, and become Financially Independent. I know it sounds crazy since I'm only 13, but it is my dream. I have 2 major online business ideas that could work, but I need help choosing the one that would make the most money. 1. My first idea is a website where free users can submit original songs and other users can listen, rate, comment, share, and chat with other users. I would also have an area where users can post info and another area where bands can find new band members. To make money from the site, I would sell ad space, sell an ecourse on songwriting, and maybe creating a pro membership if the site becomes big enough. I have a problem though. Since I have no coding experience, I would have to hire a web design firm to create the site. The problem is that it might cost a lot ($100,000) to create the site. If it does cost that much, should i hire a programmer from elance or something like that? Thats how the website Digg was created. If it still costs a lot, should I have my parents apply for a loan from SBA? Overview of #1: Target Market: Musicians, Bands, Independent Artists, Songwriters. Revenue: Ad space, Pro Membership Costs: Website, Marketing, Website Matinence Type of Business: Online Business, Online Company, Service Business Idea #2. This idea is a basic business idea. I would create a basic website (not a webs.com type of site, but not a huge firm site). I would join a well reputated wholesale company that sells and dropships musical instruments. I would list the products on my site using an eccommerce section, and allow customers to make orders. I would price the products to make profit. When I get an order, I send the order to the wholesale company, and they ship the products within 24 hours. They are most likely always in stock, and will notify me of any problems. Overview of Idea #2: Target Market: Musicians, Bands, Independent Artists, Dj's, bass players, guitarists, drummers, keyboard players, lighting people, record producers. Revenue: Profits from Products, Advertising on Website Costs: Dropshipping, Cost of Products, Website, Website Matinence, Marketing Type of Business: Online Business, Online Company, E-Tail Business, Retail Business, Ecommerce, Product Business. Which idea do you like the best? Which idea do you think is most profitable? If you think #1 is the best and most profitable.... Why do you think that? How should I build the website? Will the website cost a lot? Should a get a loan from SBA? Would people like this site? If you think #2 is the best and most profitable.... Why do you think that? Do you think it is a good idea? Please help me. Even if you don't think any of these are good ideas, if you had to choose one, which one would you choose? Thanks! Also, I just received a call from my grandpa saying he is willing to invest money into either one of my ventures. Another GREAT THING is that I just realized my cousin is finishing college and was in college for web design. Even if it is a not perfect site, it could be a prototype. Also, he wont charge to build the site. Let me know what you think! more

Resolved Question: Marketing Question quick 10 points?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if I could get some help for a question that I think is going to be in my marketing exam. Now I am not sure exactly how it is going to go but I think the question will be something along the lines of "you own a small hotel in the local area, a large 5 star hotel group has been given approval to build a large hotel within close proximity to your small hotel. You must re-work your marketing mix to be competitive against this large multinational competitor" so basically you have to reposition your hotel/motel so that you can be competitive against this larger hotel but with small hotel type of funds. I was thinking of saying something along the lines of turning 'my' place into a small boutique bed and breakfast with only a few suites but it makes up for it with good designs and luxury fittings as well as personalised service. Basically I would be targeting a niche. Could you help me with some ideas to go with either being part of the 4p's, the target audience, how i am going to advertise, what I should offer to guests and anything else. It is going to need to be about 6 pages long so as much detail as you can give me would be awesome. Thank you so much to anyone that can help me and its a quick 10 points. more

Voting Question: Why aren't people boycotting these companies.?

TOM JOYNER'S MORNING SHOW Tom Joyner wants this information to reach his listeners.. You have probably heard of 'NUD' as a result of the Tom Joyner morning show related to Comp USA . NUD (Non Urban Dictate) is the acronym for a very subtle and little-known marketing term specifically directed toward people of color. 'Non Urban Dictate' These three words essentially mean that a company is not interested in the Black consumer. A NUD label means that a company does not want their marketing and advertising materials placed in media that claim an urban audience (black folks) as their main target. There are legitimate reasons for companies not using urban radio. It may be that Blacks don't index high in certain categories or that a company's strategy is to market to the Black consumer down the road after they have established a strong position in their primary target. But, NUD usually means that a company is not interested in the Black consumer. Companies evade discrimination liability by embracing it as theory rather than policy. As a service to Black consumers, the Urban Institute will list all companies that have a NUD policy. Armed with this information, we feel that Black consumers will be able to make informed buying decisions. Here's a list of Companies with NUD policies: 1. Starbucks 2. Jos. A Bank 3. Comp USA 4. Weight Watchers 5. Keebler 6. Life Savers 7. Continental Airlines 8. Northwest Airlines 9. America West Airlines 10.. HBO - Apollo Series 11. Paternal Importers 12 Calico Corners 13. OMScot 14. Resolved Question: do you think mayweathers strategy of targeting the hip hop demographic to boxing?

i read an article the other day that for the life of me i cant find. anyhow it was leanord ellerbe discussing how floyd split from arum. in a nutshell and to the best of my recollection this is what was said. that floyd want to start to advertise in the hip hop/ minority demographic because it was an untapped market as far as ppv sales. arum disagreed believing the mexican audience is the focus. ok they split over money blah blah.. leanord says this was a marketing strategy put in place 5 years ago by floyd to achieve mainstream popularity. so that urban kids would have a fighter to look up to just like other races. he used his flamboyant trash talking ridiculous flaunting of money as a tactic to target a certain audience. now look at him.. he is number 1 and you cant talk about boxing without having a conversation about mayweather. that mayweather is a marketing genius and its not by accident why he is infamous. this is not nutt hugging this is what was said. was this an affective strategy in retrospect? does anyone have a link to that article? has anyone else read that article? what do you think of floyd decision to appoint himself as"our"? more

Voting Question: How to market to another company's employees?

I'm in the writing stages of a business plan and I have narrowed down my target market. In my research I found the top 10 employers within the city where my company will be located. If I wanted to advertise to these companies employees directly, how would I do so? (The employers are 2 hospitals, numerous schools, including the school district administration, and 2 large consumer electronic companies.) Other then getting my business added to each individual companies "local discount" list for their employees, are there any other creative ways to advertise to them directly? Any ideas would be great. Thanks guys.AJ, You have it all wrong. Let me use an example. Let's say I want to open a restaurant in my city. Within my city I have the businesses mentioned before. Let's say I want to market to doctors, nurses, etc that work in the hospital around the corner. How do I get the doctors and nurses to come to my restaurant. How do i reach them directly? Does this make more sense? more

Resolved Question: Can you please proofread my work?

Can you please proofread my work? Advertising to children has become big business in recent years, with kids under 12 spending over 24 billion dollars of their own money in 2009 and directly influencing the spending of 188 billion more. From a sociological point of view, however, this phenomenon is related to the rise in the “money culture” that places value on an individual based on what he or she posses. This surge in child consumerism has resulted in a keen interest among marketers in knowing what makes kids tick. Marketers have discovered that intriguing fact that it is very well possible to sell to children. They know that the child consumers of today are the largest and fastest growing market. To learn more, advertisers have hired well-paid psychological consultants to help them study every phase and stage of a child’s life. The results are sophisticated, finely-honed commercials that work. All around the world, children spend more time in television than they spend in class. TV sometimes exceeds sleeping hours. Such prolonged hours in front of the TV play a major role in forming the children’s consumption pattern. It is no wonder, these days television advertising is so effective. According to Nancy Shalek, then president of Shalek Agency, “Television has become the best medium for advertisement. Advertising at its best is making people feel that without their product, you’re a loser. Kids are very sensitive to that. If you tell them to buy something, they are resistant. But if you tell them they’ll be a dork if they don’t, you’ve got their attention. You open up emotional vulnerabilities, and it’s easy to do with kids because they’re the most vulnerable” Marketers also work hard to increase their product’s “nag factor,” a term which refers to how often and how vehemently children pressure parents to buy an item. Parents feel guilty about purchasing items, such as junk food or violent video games that they believe are bad for their kids. On the other hand, they worry that by constantly saying “no” they will increase their child’s depression or worsen parent-child relationship. Afsana Parvin, mother of 7-year-old Deepika, says.” Because she is so young it is difficult to explain the pressure it creates on parents. And she is the only child so it is hard to say no.” “Kids these days ask for more because they are exposed to so many things right now. When we were kids, we were not exposed to all these advertisements. In fact, the media was very limited in our times,” points out Dalia Arefin, a bank employee. Parent, meanwhile, in their earnestness to give the best to their child may go a bit overboard with their generosity and give in to their endless demands without any thinking. But by encouraging such materialism, are we really benefitting our kids? It is children’s tendency to show off and have the latest cool thing. When they do so, other children of their same age go through peer pressure and feel that if they don’t have that “cool” thing they are worthless. Most parents are very unsatisfied about the marketing of food to children. Food advertising on TV is often for junk foods like chanachur, potato chips, juices, soft drinks and candies. Total airtime of these foods always exceeds commercials for healthy food. Fast food shops all around the world spend billions to advertise their foods, for persuading kids. To directly target children, the fast food industry uses more than traditional commercials. Restaurants offer incentives such as play-grounds, contests, clubs, games and free toys. The free-gift marketing strategy has been there for generations in western countries and now our part of the world is trying to catch up with this trend. Another disturbing trend in child advertising is the targeting of very young children. Mike Searles, then president of Kids-R-Us, a major children’s clothing store, believes there are great advantages to hooking a child as soon as possible: “[I]f you own this child at an early age, you can own this child for years to come. Companies are saying ‘Hey, I want to own the kid younger and younger’” (as quoted in Ruskin, 1999, p. 42). As kids are becoming more powerful consumers, marketers are targeting them even more bluntly. To make kids spend more, the advertisers are letting their imagination run wild using sophisticated psychological techniques which includes catchy jingles, dances and cute cartoon characters, portraying adventures and mysterious worlds, always implying that their products will bring unbounded happiness. “The only thing I want to be is a beyblade player and go to the big stadium and become a champion,” says Sunny. He actually thought that the beyblade cartoon was real and has a collection of 67 beyblades! Advertisements can shape self-image and values of our children. Young children have difficulty distinguishing between advertisements and reality, and may not understand that ads are there to sell something for profit rather than with pu more

Voting Question: Please explain credit denial? Revolving Trade Highly Utilized...?

I have a very comfortable income, a FICO score 750+, and have always been meticulously conscientious in paying all my bills on time. I'm thinking another credit card would be nice, my first new card in almost 2 years, and I get denied, citing: "Revolving Trade Highly Utilized." Well, duh! If I weren't using the credit I have, why would I want more? This seems paradoxical! A low debt-to-credit ratio means you wouldn't have any reason to seek more credit, right? With all of the money the credit companies seem to invest in marketing, I cannot imagine whom they are targeting for this advertising if not me. I have money, and a proven history of credit responsibility. What gives? Thanks for the spam URLs, douches. Any other legit answers out there? more

Resolved Question: Setting up Nationwide Distributors/Installers?

I have a patented storm/security panel that I would like to sell to the coastline areas of the U.S. Each panel is custom made for each window and door of a building so it will require field measurements and semi-skilled labor to install (although homeowner installation is possible). As the manufacturer, what is the standard mark-up to the distributor/installer (D/I) for this type of product, keeping in mind that they will also make money from the installation? In other words, what is the percentage of mark-up from the manufacturer (me) to the D/I and what is the "usual and customary" percentage that makes it worth the D/I's time to sell it? Would I be better off setting up a nationwide network of these D/Is by direct marketing to existing door/window people or should I advertise for new distributor opportunities? Also, I am on a limited budget and I was thinking of enlisting the services of a college student to take on this as a class project. Any suggestions as to which college course students to target? Needless to say, I have a thousand MORE questions!! Would it be better to ask this question in a different category?I am currently selling/manufacturing/installing this product and I know the market for this product could be huge on a nationwide scale. more

Resolved Question: Are you in marketing? Can I pick your brains for a moment?

I recently took the sole import and distribution rights to a unique soft drinks brand. The product is sold in 41 other countries and is hugely successful. I asked for some advice on forums and was given some good tips. Although I have sales background myself, I simply cannot afford the time to take on this role. Given also that the product has a near 90% target audience, I need to have either a massive advertising budget, or I need the help of brokers, marketeers, manufactures representatives, etc etc etc. This product sells itself. Everyone who try's it adopts it. Personally, there has not been any other drink product in our home since I took the rights. My only problem is trying to get this product under the noses of 62 million people as soon as possible........Thank you in advance of any companies you can recommend or advice you can offer............... more

Resolved Question: Should all advertising aimed at young children be banned?

For the fact its predatory and preys on kids immaturity not to realise what they are being sold. This talks about a study showing how brands are ingrained into childrens minds from a young age to make them automatically recognise it http://bps-research-digest.blogspot.com/2009/11/brands-leave-their-mark-on-childrens.html There was a study done in 1991 that showed more 5 and 6 year olds could recognise Joe Camel than Mickey Mouse and that Camel was the most common brand sold to underage smokers illegally. Fast food ads targeted at children lead some of the biggest consumers of fast food to be children. Do you think it is immoral to target children in this way and use the now commonly cradle-to-grave techniques marketing companies use in an attempt to sell its product for life? more

Voting Question: you CAN TEST POSITIVE W/O MISSING A PERIOD!!!!!?

LADIES, ALOT OF YOU ARE SADLY MISTAKEN. the market for pregnancy tests has changed so much that pregnancy tests are extremely sensitive nowadays, you have to do some research to find out exactly how much hcg they trace but it is very little amts. the best test stats have been with Answer brand (typically in an orange box) they begin picking up Hcg @ 25mIU/hcg and the more popular and advertised brands like EPT and Clearblue, down to walmart and target brand dont start picking up Hcg until almost double Answer brand!! it really really depends on the brand of test you use, it is still best to use first mornings urine if you have not missed a period and also i recommend peeing into a dixi cup and dipping the test rather than peeing all over it. "The most sensitive tests (like the ones available at Early Pregnancy Tests.com) are capable of detect hCG levels at the 20mIU/hCG threshold (mIU, or International Units, is a level of measurement). 20mIU/hCG is the level of hCG that is typically present, on average, in the urine of pregnant women at about seven to ten days past ovulation. 20mIU is really the perfect sensitivity level, allowing you to test early (before your first missed period) while not being overly sensitive. If a test is too sensitive, it can detect naturally-low levels of hCG that may be present in a non-pregnant woman's system. Something to keep in mind. On the other hand, some drugstore brands offer very low sensitivity level tests (higher numbers, even over 100mIU/hCG). While there is nothing wrong with these tests, they do require that you wait longer to begin testing - well after a woman's missed period." taken from http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/compare.html also they provide a helpful chart.. old schoolers that think you need to miss a period, get educated!! more

Resolved Question: Why don't Conservatives have long-term visions for America?

This is the problem with Conservatives. This is where Liberals are actually more logical. Long-term American manufacturing jobs have built culture, significance, and a whole strain of values to the American family, built on hard work and respect and love. These hardworking blue-collar American jobs were about more than money, it was about working together. Conservatives undermine 75 years of hard industrial committment to make a little extra profit in 2010 by sending all the jobs to China. Then eventually those workers will be outsourced. How can people commit to a trade or skill when this is how rich CEOs behave??? They want money, not good people!!!! This is what Liberals are fighting for. It's same with commercial advertising. A Liberal piano company advertises a product for 50 straight years establishing a repoire with a target market that is treated intelligently. People know the company so well for so long that they save up their hear-earned money for years to buy one of their pianos. Then there's Conservative Walmart and they could care less about customers and employers and assume people are idiots and that repeating "Save Money, Live Better, Walmart" will win them money from moronic people. Liberals care about lifelong quality, Conservatives cut corners, why is this?I care about the quality of life. In this new age of corporate conservatism, there's no sincere company anymore. Companies today only care about me until I get scammed and then they would want nothing to do with me. This is a very un-inspirational system, outsourcing everything, lay offs everywhere more

Resolved Question: Do I use a lot of description here? If so, how would I go about minimizing it? (story?

It’s everywhere, adverts for disposable shoes, eco-friendly motor scooters, reduced CO2 emission sports vehicles, reusable toilet paper and Nike. When you do anything public, you do it on ad space. You walk on linoleum, advertising the latest must-have gadgetry from Sony or the latest marketable, mediocre talented Disney starlet’s upcoming Coca-Cola World Tour, in the public bathrooms. The public bathroom is where the consumer is more vulnerable, whether the consumer has to sit down or stand up, because visual stimulation distractions relaxes you muscles and preoccupies your time being wasted… wasting. Men stare straight ahead (as to not be caught admiring their fellow urinal compadre) and stare straight into the asshole of capitalism. Most of the public bathrooms are privately owned by Kohler in the Pacific Northwest and they sell their ad space to every corporations from Apple to Walt Disney, the Corporations no longer worry about markets and target-audiences because the main objective and, arguably, the only objective is to sell, sell, sell. Advertising Agencies are a 20th century fad, whose main contribution to the world of Corporation was to desensitize Consumers enough that advertising was an extension of human decision making. Everything looks like a kaleidoscope of Consumer-friendly colours and literature. The entire world is trying to hawk brands at you and, unfortunately fortunately for Consumers, you buy, buy, buy. Every day, brands are making their ways into the dictionary; detergent was forced to give it’s meaning to Tide, toilet paper bullied to give it’s meaning to Charmin, tissue was blown out of the nose of the nose of the individual into a Kleenex, instant noodles were micro waved Ramen, every day brands become neologistic insurrections. University campuses and Primary playgrounds are corporate jam sessions; where everything from the benches to the monkey bars are logo’d. Caterpillar Monkey Bars and benches are floosies when it comes to ad space. The wallpaper in this bathroom and, in fact, schools, office buildings, convenient stores are Procter & Gamble owned. All brands sell ad space to brands and we’re caught in the crosshairs of these kissing cousins. Ads on top of ads on top of ads on top of humanity. We, no longer have quarrels about religion, life, love, friendship or sex but where you can find the best deal on Tide Brand tide or some brand or other. The way technology crept into your day to day life, advertising has accomplished with technology taking a supporting role and billed as Medium of Communications. Advertising was the tortoise in a race between Any Other Form of Mind Control vs. Avaricious Wants, Greed and Commodities. Religion only appeared to be winning. Advertising has taken over our life, one medium of communication at a time. At present time, there is a bidding war between Coca- Cola and McDonald’s where the item being auctioned off is United States of (insert brand name here). It’s all very simple, people just got tired of choosing and with super brands taking out all of it’s competition our choices became severely limited. Brands decided to cash in on our limitations by buying more ad space and buying out everything from education to recreation or is it procreation? Since, weddings were being sponsored by some brand or another. And Corporations buying out children’s futures by paying the parents of the child thousands of dollars if they named the child Pepsi or Apple and the most common boy name in 2041 was the Nike swoosh. It started with television, we all were desensitized and nobody/nothing stepped into to rub us with lubricate us with original ideas because in a brand world even respectable educational programming was cramming the latest everything down your metaphysical gullet with sporadic and random pop ups during History programmes of the Third Reich of McDonald’s sponsoring the programme you are currently watching. With virtually everyone in the “civilized” world desentised to megalo-branding, brands started to sensitize Consumers with whatever it was they were hawking at the beginning of this take over. Earth has been lowered in rank to share holder. You can also buy your shares of rain forests, woodlands, deserts and, most profitable in 2037-41, Alaskan wilderness. The way people use to be able to have a tree planted in their name, they have Kohler water fountains in the Mojave Desert with “Tom and Linda’s Kohler Water Fountain for a Better Tomorrow” written on the side… and the sad thing is that many took this sham as similar to the tree fiasco. Also, do not be alarmed by the Colgate-Palmolive safe havens in the Alaskan wilderness. Alas, the water is supplied by Coca-Cola owned Dasani. more

Voting Question: Help with advertising high end spa!?

I am a student doing a project on advertising a spa located inside a high end resort that caters mostly to foreigners. My target market is for the class A locals who live within/around the area, and I need to get them to come in and try the spa. The spa is zen infused and pricey. Interviews with certain Class A have generated skepticism as to why they should spend for something expensive like a spa when they can do shopping or travel somewhere far off. Even if it is for the Class A market, I'm still having a hard time making advertising campaigns (print, tv and radio) that don't sound or look cliche'. I have to avoid the typical woman looking at peace, flowers and stones on top of each other bit. I also need to convince them that the drive to the spa and price for the spa's services will be worth their while. Help on brainstorming for something creative/witty please! Because she has a very strong theoretical background of Advertising and Public Relations and an excellent capacity of understanding, she made an amazing progress. After spending 2 months experiencing the 2 events planning with me, she could handle the whole planning all by herself, which generally requires more than 6 months. After about six months, she began to take the full responsibility for planning, presentation and operation of the events. Clients were also pleased with her job because every events she in charged had a high visiting rates of PCB. Especially the visiting rate of the summer event had reached 300,000 during two months. I was very satisfied with her performance. She also had been promoted to project manager, which is very rare in our company within such a short time. She has a strong ability to integrate theory with practice. She told me that her major in graduate school is product placement advertising and advertising with game. She wants to try to use the concept of “product placement advertising” in her subject. The problem of the exhibition hall of Panasonic is that only few people know it. Therefore, less people visit it. Miss Zhang combines her own research on advertising with game, proposed advergaming (the story happened in PBC) marketing in order to raise PCB’s recognition. I think this idea is novel. But like other Japanese companies, Panasonic is very careful, so they would not accept this new proposal until some strong support evidence is shown. Miss X did not give up her idea. She had used her private time to design a simple flash game, and gathered some data to support her idea. Now Panasonic is discussing her proposal again. She also has a nice sense of advertising. She had planned a detective game event for PCB. PCB staff told me that Miss X has been visited PCB very carefully, asked staff some questions, tried to let them learn more about Panasonic and its exhibition halls on weekends or at night. As a result, Miss X planned an extremely interesting game for PCB, called Mystery green Journey. This game not only grasps Panasonic’s philosophy and products’ feature-- Environmental Protection, but also attracted the target consumer group with its entertainment. The result was very exciting! we got 100,000 more visitors than the Panasonic’ requirement. more

Resolved Question: PLEASE check this English letter for me!~~?

Hi, I have traselated this letter to English. I am really appreciate if someone could check this for me. Dec.15 is my deadline and I cannot find any native speaker around me. By the way, I think I am good at Chinese and Japanese. I would like to help anyone with Chinese and Japanese problem. With great pleasure and enthusiasm that I recommend to you Miss. X, an excellent student, who had worked under my immediate supervision for nearly three years, to your graduate program. During these 3 years, she put a lot of energy on academic research and set on online advertising, consumer behavior and Product placement advertising(PPL) as her research field. She also worked very well as my assistant and really helped me a lot in my projects, especially in Shizuoka Tourist Administration China Marketing plan, Media preferring of High Net Worth Chinese research projects. Miss X has a unique perspective towards her research. As a result, two of her papers about PPL and new media won National level Award. I would like to mention one of her papers about PPL in dubbed and subtitled movies to explain her research ability. Although the data of the research seemed show nothing special, Miss X analyzed the data again and again using different methods. Finally, she innovatively pointed out that the subtitle did an effect on memory to product, and when a product placed in a international movie dubbed and subtitled factor should be considerate. She said she would continue research in this area and put more energy into the game advertising. I believe that she has already prepared for her doctoral program. Next I would like to talk about her performance in projects to demonstrate her strong execution and problems solving abilities. In 2008, I involved her in my Shizuoka Tourist Administration China Marketing plan project. In this project, the target is High Net Worth Chinese, which is a new concept so the information of it was very limited. It was Miss X to make an effort on solving this problem. She contacted her friends worked in the advertising agency in China to collect useful data. And she had leaded other team members to design a questionnaire, send out questionnaires in proper internet media to collect first-hand information. Within a few months, they obtained valuable information to help the project complete successfully.Could you correct the unnatrue parts or sentences or words for me?Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Is male infidelity used as a marketing tool for female empowerment?

This is related to Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz's comments regarding using salacious material to increase advertising revenue in niche publications. Sites like Shine which is aimed at the female audience has an over abundance of articles pertaining to male infidelity thus using the Tiger Woods escapade as a means to invigorate ad targeting. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091210/ap_on_hi_te/us_tec_tiger_woods_internet I have never heard of female infidelity being exploited in such a manner in order to spur advertising revenue amongst men. Are advertising companies banking on women collectively internalizing infidelity more than men? Is it more marketable to tear a man down in the media for cheating than women in order to keep up the illusion that men cheat more? Does sexism come into play here at all? more

Voting Question: Need help with a cute veterinary ad slogan...?

I am making a Yellow Page ad for a veterinary hospital in St. Louis. I've exhausted almost every conceivable idea and have finally decided to go for a cute approach. The ad is meant to target women with families between the ages of 25-64. The basic idea that I've been working off of lately involves a cute little girl sleeping with her puppy...a) by her feet b) in her arms c) as her pillow...with respective quotes...a) "a heartbeat at your feet b) "two hearts that beat as one" c) "a place to rest our heads"...I don't want to get too distracted from the point of the ad, which is to advertise a prominent veterinary hospital in the St. Louis area, but I want to create a friendly, heart warming image that draws the target market in and conveys the company's prestige, expertise, care, warmth, and devotion to both the family and their pet(s)...any suggestions would really be appreciated! Thanks! more
