Resolved Question: U.S. NAVY BDCP Program???? PAO'S ?

At the present time i am a Jr In college. Recently, I discovered a navy program called the Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program (BDCP). A program which would allow me to stay and complete college, earn my degree, supposedly guarantee me a spot in OCS and this all while i receive pay as an active duty E-3. This seems like the best deal ever to be honest with you. So i would like to know as much about the BDCP program as possible(and please no copy and paste gimmicks) Aside from that, here are my concerns 1) I am of the beliefe that everyman should have been enlisted at one point before he becomes and officer. So he may gain a perspective on how the the half lives so to speak. Is it at all possible for me to some how enlist in the Navy go through basic (Say in the reserves)and still be apart of the BDCP. When i return home. 2) If you are in the Navy reserve and are a college student is there some sort of deployment deferment to allow me to finish my degree. Not to skip the annual training rather an actual activation. 3) Aside from PAO what officer careers are available to me if i have a degree in Mass Communications - Advertising. 4) Can a PAO have a duty assignment on a ship ( I NEED TO TRAVEL!!!...aside from serving your country that's got to be the biggest allure for the Navy) I realize this may be asking for a great amount of information but these are question the need to be asked. so i am on month 6 TTC our second baby :) Normally a week before my period i get crampy and my boobs kill me. Well i was due yesterday and my boobs feel pretty good, a little sensitive and bigger but not hurting and about 4 days ago i get cramps on and off. I could have sworn my AF was coming last night but instead cramps left and nothing. NOT EVEN spotting. I don't wanna get psyched out about it so i am relaxing. My dr. said not to test til Monday cause the test aren't really that accurate even though they advertise they are. The past few days i have been really relaxed... any advice. Hello Hoping someone can maybe help me out with my situation. I had purchased a product from Game Spot, a Nyko Charge Base IC for the Nintendo Wii and was extremely unsatisfied. This product is advertised to hold a charge for 10 hours of gameplay on a full charge, but in only 30 minutes of use the battery had already dropped a single bar. Also when purchasing this product from Game Spot, I was told it was brand new, but when checking my receipt to see the return policy, it said it was “pre-played” meaning used. I feel that I didn’t not get the product I wanted and asked for a refund. They told me they do not give refunds only store credit or an exchange. But on the receipt it only says they do not give refunds on “open software or systems” nothing else is said. The product I purchased is neither “software” or a “system” so I believe I should be issued a refund, especially since I purchased the product under the assumption it was new, when in fact it was pre-owned. Hi so I thought I would re post this as I left details out etc... So recently my friends girl had puppy's (a cross breed litter of 6 4x black and 2x mixed color's) and the b@tch got really ill and had to go for a op so was taken away from the pups from the start (she was with them for the first 2 hours) then had to have the op and was then put back with the pups once she was home, as all pups they had a weak immune system and so did mum (my friend then being a complete and utter idiot let a dog who had demodex mange around the mum and pups, the vet told her that she can carry the mange and 'pass' on the mange to the pups and mum as their immune systems where weak so she had to use and anti bacterial gel every time before handling the pups!). After 3 weeks she took the pups for another check up and the vets noticed that they had little bald spots and done skin scrapings on every pup and it was diagnosed as demodex mange so she was treating it with advocate and it appeared to be working but obviously it is an ongoing treatment (other than the mange the puppy's where in healthy condition putting on weight very well etc etc, so before anyone says they must have been left in appalling conditions to get this mange they were not they were in good condition and she has vet recs to prove so!), she then advertised the puppy's for free but told everyone who inquired about them that they have the demodex mange but it is treatable with advocate from the vet (she explained that the vet would have to either do another skin scraping or would just visibly see that the puppy needed to have more of the treatment). Recently she received an email of one of the people who took two of the puppy's (one for her one for her friend) saying the puppy's had sarcoptic mange...email shown below 'i have had the worst 72 hours of my life.... my hairy dog fell in a lake and ended up coasting me £400 at the same time i mention to my vet about puppy itching... and pointed out a rash on my arm.... he then points out that its mange... so not only have i had to treat her my 2... my rats.. and me.... the vet bill is now 650.... you promised me that she didn't have mange and that it was just the black ones.... and its sarcoptic mange not the one you said it was.... my friend is fuming as well.. i feel upset that you didn't tell me from the start... i could of treated her alot earlier to of saved pain and discomfort.... and also my animals... and myself as its more time of work for me.... she has been treated with advocate and has 6 months worth and so are mine my rats are not in a good way as there old... i am still unsure as to what i am going to do about this situation..... i am hoping that me telling you that me you and my friend can come to some sort of arrangement.....' the thing is she told everyone that the puppy's had demodex mange, she said it was clearly visible on the black puppy's BUT she couldn't see it on the mix colored puppy's but that didn't mean they didn't have the mange and she should go to the vet and get them checked telling the vet that the puppy's had/have demodex mange. This woman is now expecting my friend to pay for her dog falling in the lake and the treatment for her other dogs and animals (and this wwoman'sfriend is expecting my friend to pay for all the animals in her house as well), but they where told that the puppy's COULD still have the demodex mange and should be checked by the vet and even told them what treatment to use. I didn't think that sarcoptic mange could be treated by advocate? Is my friend in any fault? as she did tell the people from the start that there is still a good chance that the puppy's have demodex mange as they where diagnosed with it from the start and where being treated with it. Shouldn't they have taken the puppy's to the vet and got them checked out anyway?! Also how could the puppy's have developed sarcoptic mange if they where diagnosed with demodex mange? none of the other puppy's have sarcoptic mange they all have demodex mange?!She was willing to pay for the puppy's treatment but only if they where brought back to her as the new owners hadn't taken the puppy's to the vet until a week later. None of the other puppy's given away have the sarcoptic mange only these 2 which makes no sense! She has told the women that she is willing to pay for the puppy's treatment if they are brought back to her but she is not willing to pay for the other animals treatment as it is the people's fault as they did not take the puppy's to the vet (like any normal people would!)anne b: i said above why i deleted the question!!! the puppy's didn't have sarcoptic mange before going to new homes they had demodex mites which was being treated just needed on going treatment, she explained this to everyone and people where still happy enough to take the puppy's so she was not scamming anyone or anything as they where FREE!!! Resolved Question: Play travel agent - affordable family vacation spots near Philadelphia?

I'm looking for a decent family vacation spot for two families (4 adults, 3 kids under 3) within about 3 hours of Philadelphia. Any time from late May to August. Budget is about $1000 for lodging/accommodations, and another $1000 for food and entertainment (nothing extravagant). Last year we rented a condo in Myrtle Beach with our friends and it worked out great...but the 15 hour drive with 3 toddlers was...challenging.A beach or mountain locale would be nice, not necessary. Being able to lodge in the same place, with a kitchen is a necessity (to keep food costs moderate). Something with a pool would be good too. We've looked at the shore spots advertised, and the Pocono resorts, but even in the off-season their prices are fairly insane for a one week vacation.This year we want something closer so as not to waste vacation days with travel, control gas costs, and keep the kids happy. The budget is not set in stone, I'm just using last year's cost as a benchmark. Any ideas? more

If you do, look at an advertising insert from KMart. In the section for green houses on sale there is a picture of a 10X10 straight leg canopy. To the left is a dome tent and below it another tent and some coolers and more camping paraphernalia. There is something 'off' with the picture of the canopy tent, can you spot it?I'll just tell you what I found hilarious. The shade from the tent is actually behind the tent, not on the majority of the stuff inside. I realize it's the way the sun was shining when the picture was shot. IMO, it kind of defeats the purpose of having a 'shade' tent if you have to sit behind it to be in the shade.........defeating the purpose of the ad. Girls can wear pants, but are expected to wear dresses and know how to cook, and take a 'womanly' job such as typing or a secretary position. Boys are expected to play in all manners of sports, and then take a job with intense manual labor either on a ranch setting or in a chemical plant. I have noticed, however, that this is partially true for the entire USA. Besides dress code, women and men are expected to be separate from one another even though they are said to be equal. There are men only bathrooms, and women only bathrooms. There are organizations strictly to help women, while other organizations only help men. On television, there are channels directly advertised as 'for women', and I can only think of one that is directly advertised 'for men'. Do you think it is time for America to finally stop separating us into two strict gender roles, and for us to truly become equal? Or do you think that it is necessary to keep both genders well defined, even though both are equally capable of assuming roles of the other gender? Do you know any consequences to removing the gender roles? What about consequences for keeping the roles rigidly separate? Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for a little something extra for my wife Julie. What I came across was a 100,000-volt, pocket/purse-sized taser. The effects of the taser were supposed to be short lived, with no long-term adverse affect on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat to safety....?? WAY TOO COOL! Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home. I loaded two triple-a batteries in the darn thing and pushed the button. Nothing! I was disappointed. I learned, however, that if I pushed the button AND pressed it against a metal surface at the same time; I'd get the blue arch of electricity darting back and forth between the prongs.?? AWESOME!!!? Unfortunately, I have yet to explain to Julie what that burn spot is on the face of her microwave.?? Okay, so I was home alone with this new toy, thinking to myself that it couldn't be all that bad with only two triple-A batteries, right?! !?? There I sat in my recliner, my cat Gracie looking on intently (trusting little soul) while I was reading the directions and thinking that I really needed to try this thing out on a flesh & blood moving target. I must admit I thought about zapping Gracie (for a fraction of a second) and thought better of it. She is such a sweet cat. But, if I was going to give this thing to my wife to protect herself against a mugger, I did want some assurance that it would work as advertised. Am I wrong??? So, there I sat in a pair of shorts and a tank top with my reading glasses perched delicately on the bridge of my nose, directions in one hand, and taser in another. The directions said that a one-second burst would shock and disorient your assailant; a two-second burst was supposed to cause muscle spasms and a major loss of bodily control; a three-second burst would purportedly make your assailant flop on the ground like a fish out of water. Any burst longer than three seconds would be wasting the batteries.? ? All the while I'm looking at this little device measuring about 5" long, less than 3/4 inch in circumference; pretty cute really and (loaded with two itsy, bitsy triple-A batteries) thinking to myself, "no possible way!"?? What happened next is almost beyond description, but I'll do my best...? ? I'm sitting there alone, Gracie looking on with her head cocked to one side as to say, "don't do it master," reasoning that a one- second burst from such a tiny little ole thing couldn't hurt all that bad. I decided to give myself a one-second burst just for heck of it. I touched the prongs to my naked thigh, pushed the button,?and?? HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!!!?? I'm pretty sure Jessie Ventura ran in through the side door, picked me up in the recliner , then body slammed us both on the carpet, over and over and over again. I vaguely recall waking up on my side in the fetal position, with tears in my eyes, body soaking wet, both nipples on fire, testicles nowhere to be found, with my left arm tucked under my body in the oddest position, and tingling in my legs? The cat was standing over me making meowing sounds I had never heard before, licking my face, undoubtedly thinking to herself, "Do it again, stupid, do it again!"?? Note: If you ever feel compelled to "mug" yourself with a taser, one note of caution: there is no such thing as a one-second burst when you zap yourself! You will not let go of that thing until it is dislodged from your hand by a violent thrashing about on the floor. A three-second burst would be considered conservative?? SON-OF-A-... That hurt like **% !!! A minute or so later (I can't be sure, as time was a relative thing at that point), I collected my wits (what little I had left), sat up and surveyed the landscape. My bent reading glasses were on the mantel of the fireplace. How did they get up there??? My triceps, right thigh and both nipples were still twitching. We want to have a great senior prom and an even better senior week, but we want to have very profitable fundraisers, like mr. ahs, to make a lot of money to make these events to be a great time. When it comes down to it, what we need to make lots of money is participation and support from the students of our school. It’s the class council’s job to advertise like madmen and think of many fun ideas to get the crowds that we need at the fundraisers. Resolved Question: Does Dermatend work on scar / hyper pigmentation?

Was wondering if Dermatend works on a scar or "hyper pigmented" brown spot since I am considering paying for IPL (Intense Pulsed Laser) to reduce/get rid of it...which will be much more costly. The other options I tried didn't reduce the area to my liking - I have tried bleaching creams and microdermabrasions. Very aggravating since the spots are not even that dark, you would think modern science can handle it after a few tries. Dermatend is advertised to reduce or eliminate moles, warts, and skin tags - they make no mention of scars or brown spots. Also, I just applied Dermatend on a mole and a scab has formed after 1 day. Voting Question: Are these acne scars? Help!?

So I have moderate acne and I am taking minocycline (oral medication) for it. My forehead has cleared up but my checks (the parts by my ears) are broken out to the point where I am not sure there are even raised pimples there. I mean, they probably broke out six months ago. But there are still red spots and it looks like the breakout started a week ago as opposed to half a year ago. It's really bugging me. The spots won't go away! They aren't raised (most of them) so I can't dry them out or anything. I don't know if they are scars or "left-overs" from the pimples. I'm pretty sure they'll go away eventually, because a year ago or so I got cheeck breakouts and it took a while but they mostly faded. I think I am going to the dermatologist soon but while I wait, I was wondering if I can do something to fade red spots. Some questions: What are the red/dark spots that won't go away after a pimple goes away called? Are they acne scars or can they go away eventually? Is there any medicine that can be used to treat them/how long does the medicine take to work? Can laser treatments work on whatever I have/how old do you have to be to get an acne laser treatment? Is there anything I can do for my self esteem (because I am really embarrassed by my acne and I don't wear cute hairstyles such as ponytails that expose my cheeks)? Resolved Question: My past pets have always died within the first month, why might this happen?

Some of my fish died of exposure to direct sunlight or starvation caused by my parents, because I was very young then. My brother's goldfish was white and black spotted, which a friend of mine says that means it was diseased rather than just naturally spotty, so that could explain why that may have died. Another time we got fish that were small and a brownish color advertised as goldfish at Walmart, if I remember correctly. Those died within three hours of getting home unfortunately, so it's possible that they could have died from the temperature change, even though I let the bagged fish adjust for an hour in the bowl before releasing it the rest of the way. The other two pets I had were a hamster and a hermit crab. The hamster lived three weeks and could have died partly because we kept it in the basement most of the time and during the month of February it's VERY cold in our basement, and it could also be cause my whole family had the flu and my brother kept trying to wake the poor thing up during the day by blowing on it. When I handled it I made sure I washed my hands and wore a mask when cleaning its cage and playing with it while I was sick. My hermit crab died within a week of unknown causes. I always kept a wet sponge in the hermit crab's container and fed it, but I noticed that as soon as it was all set up in my house it spent a lot of time in its shell. I've considered that maybe there's bad energy in our house that the animals can't handle, or that our house is either too hot or too cold and the animals can't handle the changes of temperature. What are the possibilities that could cause all these animals to die within the first month of having them when I always made sure they were well fed? I'm considering getting a pet rat, but if it's just going to die because my house is a bad environment then I'll have to wait until I move out.For Hoolagal: You honestly think that I would not treat my pets as living things and show them respect? How dare you accuse me of such. It was not my fault that the hamster was in the basement, my mom wouldn't allow it anywhere else in the house. She never made that clear before we got it so it was too late when we got it home. I did manage to bring it up to my bedroom to give it some warmth while it was dying but that's all my mom allowed, she wanted it out of the house but was stupid enough to let us get it and then suddenly change her mind. And yes, I DID do all of those things for the hermit crab, my mom let me keep that in my bedroom because its tank was smaller and it didn't smell. I gave it a sponge to keep it moist, declorified (not sure if thats the word to say it) the its drinking water and made a salt bath for it too. It died anyway, so maybe it was already ill? I used to be an actress and dancer and even a model 2 years ago until one morning I woke up with my face red.. since then things just got worse and worse I Quit I have no self confidence. I hardly even leave the house and if i do NEVER without make up and a hoody, my cystic acne is so bad.. all over my cheeks chin nose forehead everywhere.. Voting Question: Is there such a thing as Exercise Camp / Retreat? Like in the Biggest Loser?

I am my no means overweight. But I would love to lose 25 pounds. Problem is im on the go all the time, I get home by 8:00pm and there is no way in he!! i will go to any of my local gyms. So how can I do it? Diet isn't my problem I've already gone through enough trials to figure that out. Its that Im completely immobile during the day. (ie. sitting at a computer all day long). Isn't there some place that groups of people can go where exercise is the main focus? Resolved Question: Dilemma with Rehabilitating a stray cat - Please Help?

I live in a big city in India, in an apartment complex on the 4th floor. About 8 months ago I noticed a 1 year old stray cat in my apartment complex compound. I "adopted" him and primarily had an inside-outside arrangement for the cat. While downstairs, the cat usually hung out on the neighbor's yard OR on our building compound wall. Because people in the apartment below have a pet dog who often lounges within the compound, the cat is terrified about taking the stairs to my home on his own. So I would go downstairs myself to get him if I spotted him from my balcony. I would let him out every evening for potty/ fresh air and get him back a few hours later if I saw him. I also made sure he was vaccinated. Overall, this inside-outside cat arrangement worked until mating season started a cpl of months ago. Since then his visits have become infrequent and he would disappear for 4-5 days at a time. He hung out with the other alley cats in the street. I felt responsible for him and would worry about his health and whereabouts. So I eventually set up a litter-box for him at home so that I would not have to roam the streets looking for him and also to make sure he was safe always. But he often gets restless and creates a noisy racket at home asking to be let out in the evenings. The constant meowing in the evenings and nights, makes it impossible for me to focus on work (i work from home) or even sleep at night. One day I gave up and let him out thinking i'd get him back later. He vanished and after a huge search effort I found him 5 days later very weak, covered in scabs, sores and some injuries. The vet said he'd gotten a skin infection. I really didn't want to be one of those people who abandons a pet once it catches a disease. So I've been caring for him at home for the past week. But as he gets stronger, he's back to his meowing to be let out. This cycle is very disruptive to my work, my sleep cycle, even my social life as I feel guilty about leaving a yowling cat alone at home. He probably misses being outside and hates being alone at home. My friends suggest that I quit taking so much trouble and just let him go to survive by himself. I love this cat and want to do the right thing that will keep him and me at peace. Some options I'm considering are : 1. Get cat neutered, and if this stops his restlessness and wandering, keep him indoors. 2. Get cat neutered and let him go. I'm hoping that a fixed cat will be less prone to catching diseases from other cats (less fighting and socialising) 3. Do nothing and let the cat go as he is (un-neutered). Hopefully he will survive as he did before I found him 4. Get cat neutered and advertise for his adoption. Slim chance with adoption in India though. If no adopters found, let him go. Any other ideas ? Even by letting him go, I know I can keep an eye on him once-in-a-while when he hangs out in my neighbor's yard. Only that I cannot ensure his health and safety like before. But the option of letting him go makes me feel terribly guilty. I feel it will be irresponsible on my part and I'd be a bad pet-parent by not keeping him safe indoors. But at this stage in my life despite my best intentions to rehabilitate a stray, I am simply unable to cope with the demands of raising a pet. What is the best thing to do in this situation ? I am looking into gettin a bengal kitten and i found some advertised for sale in my town but from the pictures they dont really look to be bengals... I had a cat that looked very similar (almost exact!) when he was a kitten but he was just a tabby! A dog has been seens wandering the streets of Maerdy in Mid-glamorgan south wales for the last 3 or 4 weeks and tongiht my partner and I managed to bring him home with us fearing for his safety. He appears to be quite a young dog, maybe not even fully out of puppy stage yet but is a little underweight although not dangerously and until we brought him he was VERY very wary of us. Having had him home with us for a few hours now he's pretty playful and seems friendly enough and he's now settled down on a quilt at the end of our bed sleeping. I've taken him out for a walk twice tonight but one thing concerns me, I've bought him tins of winalot but he doesn't seem at all interested in eating it. However I'm not overly concerned about him but I will be taking him somewhere for a check up make sure he's ok. Anyway just on the off chance anyone in the area happens to see this and has lost their dog, wants to contact me with a good description of the dog, I will gladly hand him back but as I hope you will understand I will have to be convinced he belongs to you before I let him go. Imagine you were the owner and I mistakenly gave him to someone else, I know I wouldn't like that to my dog. Failing this, I will endeavour to find a loving home for him by means of advertising that IU have a dog in need of re-homing. Again before I let him to a new owner, I will want to visit the prospective owners property and be confident that SPOT as I've now called him will be adequately looked after and I will want to keep in touch to see how he's getting on. I don't mean to be rude but as a passionate animal lover with rabbits, guinea pig, hamster and dog of my own, I will never forgive myself for letting this dog go to end up being mis-treated or found abandoned wandering the streets again. he's a lovely dog, faily obedient too considering he's only been a few hours and I'm sorely tempted to keep him myself but I want the original owner to have the oppertunity of having him back and to be honest although I would work it out somehow, can't really afford to take on any more animals at this stage. so i have a crush on this woman and we have been hanging out because we are planning an advertising campaign for an event together. I notice we get a long really well and our meetings are really sociable and drag on for hours. I have really come to like her and enjoy being around her. I noticed this and thought I might be watching at her too intently or something so I tried not looking at her during the conversation for a while and I noticed that afterward her eye contact was pretty strong. When she left she bumped into me playfully but then i got the feeling as I walked her out to her car she was pretty much on her way instead of lingering though we did talk a bit. and then i went back out again cause we had mentioned meeting again tomorrow with another person and she was cool with it but i realized there wasnt any real reason to meet so even though i wanted to hang out it came out like i was kinda reluctant to. And when I said bye it was cool. And then when I had gone back in she called me again and I was all happy but it was just to ask for directions. Anyhow Im kinda confused. During our meeting the conversation was still very friendly and animated and stuff and she also initiated touch by touching my hand and I returned it and there were times of feeling flirty or connected and close proximity, but it seemed like she was a lot less relaxed and connected than previously. One thing to note was that todays meeting started off awkwardly on her arrival and she complained about feeling weird and being on her period. Could that have something to do with the mixed signals. I offered her some chocolate to calm her nerves a little, and over the course she got a lot more relaxed. We actually got a lot done compared to other meetings where we bullshitted and gossiped a lot more. Anyhow, I know I shouldn't waste time analyzing all the little things so much reading into every little thing, but i guess it just annoys me that I can't figure out objectively what the situation is.. I guess it might still be too early to tell either way. arg. i really don't know.. So what do you guys think? What should I do next? more

The first few paragraphs in this opinion piece made an interesting observation. The news media (whose job it is to fact check the people making the laws) gets most of their advertising dollars from major drug companies. These major drug companies are represented PhRMA. PhRMA protects the interests of the industry. The White House cut a deal with PhRMA in 2009 that basically insured no cheaper prescription drugs in the near future (protect their profits) in exchange for PhRMA's support of this "reform" bill. Interestingly, the MSM seems to have selective memory when it comes to backroom deals included in this bill. Isn't it odd they never mention the price of prescription drugs during a debate about "health care reform" ?? American Advertising Federation executive Clark Rector wrote in a press release late last year, when the deal went down. Voting Question: Singing, Agents, Experience? Help!?

I've always taken music and singing seriously. It's like a talent of mine, something that I've always had. It's just something I was born loving. When I was smaller, I'd sing around the house, and sing for everyone. As I grew older, not so much. My stage fright with singing lasted for a long period of my life, but now I feel as if I'm loosing part of it as I get more comfortable singing to people like my mom. However, I've never had experience with singing to an audience. But, now I'm excited to, and I really want to. I know that in order to contact in agent, in no way will he/she contact you without at least a little experience. I found a singing agent who is legitimately real. I know that with scams people advertise, but never once have I ever heard this guy do that. He's in contact with a real label, which I searched up. Everything about him I searched up, and everything that I found matched perfectly from what was told. I have all of his personal information, and I'd like to send in a resume. The problem is that I've never had experience but Youtube- which I started 3 days ago. I want to capture an audience, and see what it's like. It would also be another type of experience for the agent to see. I have SO many Karaoke clubs and singing places where I live. Which is rare because I live in Massachusetts- a place where we barely have any chances to succeed in singing. I really do want the experience so that I can see if I would like to be put in a spot where I would be if I was a real singer. Oh, and I've done Karaoke before- just not by myself. Do you think that's a good idea? Any tips that you have when singing? Thank you! more
