Open Question: How can I sell my land?

I have gone down the same route as many people who want to invest money and bought land in Bulgaria. The plot was un-regulated when I bought it. It now has planning to build 5 up market villas on it. It is all above board and have all the legal paperwork which has been checked by laywers to prove its all good. Thing is I have now droppd the price of the plot 3 times and over 3 years there has been no interest. The plot is at the foot of the Balken mountains in a place called Kosharitsa 5 minute drive to Sunny Beach, Black Sea Coast. It is 1488m2 and is for sale for £75,888EUR (equivalent). 51 EUR sqm. It ticks all the right boxes but no one is viewing it. I have advertised it on numerous websites, forums and contacted development companies the world over. Its got to the point now where I don't care bout massive returns and I just want my money back as now I have a better idea of where to put the money. Can anyone help or advise me on what I can do next?!!!! Thanks. more

Open Question: Do you subscribe to these MRA principles and goals?

"Principals and Goals of the Men’s Movement PRINCIPLES we recognize and affirm: The existence of natural differences between the genders. The extreme immorality of certain social forces, and at the same time, the very real opportunity that these forces have to deny, ignore, compromise, and repress these differences and any expression of them. The necessity of cooperation between the genders, and at the same time the inevitability of opposition between them. The scientific inconsistency and dubious morality of any claim by one gender to describe the state, condition, needs, experiences, or the value of the other gender. THE CURRENT STATE OF AFFAIRS We define the current situation in the following terms: For two generations masculinity and the male gender have been subject to an all-out attack covering every sphere, from the world of images and symbolism to that of common everyday existence, applied systematically and consistently in every manner and through all means of communication and cultural diffusion. The term male-bashing extends itself to aesthetics, opposing their attainment by men which includes the male body and men’s physicality. Every level and gradation within contemporary culture, and every unit that elaborates on or transmits that culture, without a single exception, is a tool of this program. This phenomenon is the fundamental cause of psychological/emotional harm in individuals and social dysfunctions of an ever-increasing gravity, hindering the entire male gender and in particular the younger generations. THE VALUE OF FEMININITY We reject any kind, however indirect, of denigration, of offensiveness and devaluation, of the ethical, aesthetic, and intellectual worth of the female gender; we repudiate any diminution of the symbolic importance of the feminine, and of the historical importance of female endeavors visible and invisible, past present and future. WE PURSUE THE FOLLOWING OBJECTIVES: The promotion of the essential value of masculinity, specifically with regard to personal dignity and the irreplaceable role of the masculine in the world of image and symbol and of the male gender in every area of life, spiritual and material, for the benefit of present and future generations. The identification and condemnation of any instance of malebashing in every context, form, or style, and any expression of malebashing, direct or indirect, open or veiled. The moral opposition to male-bashing—to the denigration and demonization of men, the denigration of male sentiments, attributes, opinions and needs, the denigration of male contributions and comportment—in the media, literature, the arts, political discourse, historiography, scientific tracts, text-books, advertising, and in every form of expression and means of communication. The restitution of the value and dignity—as well as the historic role—of past generations of men, by means of the deconstruction of feminist historiography. The struggle against the cultural ideals of a Feminist Society and its basic values— therefore against the following: The principle of the moral, aesthetic and intellectual superiority of the female gender; The denial of the existence of anti-male hatred; The criminalization both direct and indirect of the male gender; The planned inhibition of the development of male consciousness; The psychological and chemical emasculation of the younger generations; The domestication and docility of men; The use of the male libido for purposes of speculation, manipulation, intimidation and blackmail; The demand for reparations, material and moral, for the wrongs, real or imagined, sustained by the female gender; The legal commercialization of sexual relations and relations based upon affection; The presumed permissibility of an autocratic imposition of behavioral rules upon the male gender; The principles of political correctness and the imposition of its vocabulary" Translated from Italian by R. Open Question: What sort of questions do they ask in a job interview?

I have been asked to come for a 'trial morning and breif interview' at a watersport club. When I applied for the job there was no job advertised I just emailed asking if there was any jobs going in their store or just generally helping out. So I am not applying for a job as an instructor or anything, I was just wondering if you could tell me what sort of questions they might ask me? Thank you Grace more

Open Question: Could someone please advise the rules on advertising a vacancy?

I raised a concern with my manager, as I noticed they were advertising a vacancy on a website for a wage significantly higher than my own. I had also asked for a pay review as I had not received on for some time. My manager dismissed my request for a pay review, and then stated that the job vacancy was advertised in house first over a month ago. The main issue I have is that no figure was advertised internally when the position was advertised. I had no idea they were offering that much money for that role (I used to work in that and more senior positions for much less money) and would certainly have applied (effectively for a demotion) if I had known that was what they were offering. Even though the advertisement was posted yesterday, my employer has also advised that the closing date for applications has now passed. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. more

Open Question: places (similar to gumtree) to advertise a dressmaking service?

Hi there Does anyone know of any sites that are inexpensive (or free) to advertise on but that still get a decent amount of traffic? I'm a dressmaker/designer/pattern cutter, and used to advertise on gumtree, but they have recently begun to charge for this. I don't even mind paying as it's only £5 for an ad, which lasts at least a month I think, but I've heard and read so many bad things about people who've lost lots of money and been ripped off after placing paid gumtree ads, that I'm reluctant to do this. I've tried sites like craiglist and other classified ad sites, but they don't get anywhere near the sort of traffic gumtree does. Any suggestions appreciated. more

Open Question: Does this sound like an error on the NMR bit of my HPI check?

I've put a deposit down on a 1999 (V) Ford KA. Looks reasonable for the age, minor rust, engine runs smoothly and looks in good condition (not perfect, obviously that would be stupid). Mileage is advertised as low with 37,000 miles on the clock. However, doing an HPI check has thrown up : Data currently held on the National Mileage Register (NMR) indicates that there may be a mileage discrepancy on this vehicle. Date recorded Recorded by Mileage reading Total 06-Jan-2000 Manufacturer 4,252 4,252 15-Jan-2003 DVLA 130,000 130,000 28-Jul-2010 NMR 39,000 39,000 (Date of first registration is September 1999) Has the DVLA made a mistake at some point, as this would be my gut feeling. I accept that Ford KAs don't need overclocking so that the mileage looks very low once you get over 100,000 miles. But to have done the first 130,000 in 2.5 years? In a 1.3L Ford KA? Considering it took 4 months to get to 4,000 miles in the first place? There are only newer MOTs, but they seem to suggest the mileage creeps up at 1 to 2000 miles a year, in keeping with a car in good condition with low mileage I know people will likely say avoid this car, just to be safe, but, honestly, does this sound more likely to be a mistake on the NMR/DVLA records? Links to photos - http://www.flickr.com/photos/27487224@N00/4838543046/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/27487224@N00/4837931969/It's advertised now as 39,000 miles, not 37,000 as I said above. And to the best of my abilities, it looks like a car with low mileage, and feels it to drive too. Also notice on one minor fail (cv regulator) in past 5 years worth of MOT more

Open Question: (UK question) I bought a game from GAME and it had scratches on the cover, I thought I'd let this slide so...?

...........I opened the circular seal on the side (which you are not meant to in case you want to return it, I only did it because I thought I'd get a new replacement cover). I opened up the cover and found that the instruction manual had marks and scratches all over it. The game was advertised as being new and I feel that I have been given something in poor condition. The disc had stuff on it too (which I stupidly cleant off). Now is there anything that I can do about this? Are they breaking any laws?I bought this online so I didn't know what the cover was like, sorry for not saying that :) more

Open Question: Broadband speed only 10% of what is advertised?

I have recently signed upto Sky Broadband with the anticipation of getting a fast-ish broadband connection speed. I waited the usual 10 days after connection to allow the line testing etc to be done and then ran several speed test through different sites. They all gave me a download speed of 2.7MB. I spoke at length with Sky Customer Services who asked me the usual questions: Are you using the master socket in your house - Yes! Do you have anything else plugged into the phone socket - No! Are you far from the phone exchange - No, less than 1km! They then told me that the exchange will allow a maximum of 3MB and that is the maximum amount I will ever get. Does anyone know if this is so with various exchanges, or can BT lift any capping to allow higher speeds? I appreciate that Sky advertise 'UPTO' 20Meg, but one would hope for at least a 3rd of that or a bit more, not 10%!!! Surely a pre-run should be established prior to contract signing to determine the available max speed?Aha - neaonbhb, think you've hit the nail on the head there, never ever noticed the difference in upper and lower case 'b's. I remember from my computer studies days back in the early 80s about bits and bytes, that makes perfect sense now - how bloody crafty!!! Thank you for pointing that out :)Thank you everyone too for your answers, especially sewrobb for your very detail explanation. Regards to you all. more

Open Question: Classes for those with Special Needs?

I’m looking at starting a company offering classes for those with special needs throughout the UK and was wondering if anyone knew anyone who offers such classes, no matter what subject. I am doing some market research to see if they would be willing to pay £25-£40 a month for someone to book sessions, keep track of calendars, chase payments, answer telephone calls, respond to emails and postal duties. They would also get a page on the company website, business cards and advertising and marketing. It’s a long shot but I thought it would be worth a try. Thank youI know someone who does this full time and I wasn't very clear in my question sorry, it will mainly be aimed at schools, not parents, though parents would be welcome as well. more

Open Question: Scammed by an english website, what can I do?

Hello, I have been advertising on my websites for this english website homepagefriends, now its called supportingfriends. They are SupportingFriends Limited, a company registered in England & Wales. They are I have referred 100s of users to their site, but now they have no paid me in over a year, and they don't react to contact. Now in Germany I could order Inkasso (debt collection) agencies, or a court Mahnung (admonition), or simply press charges on the police website. All costs would be charged to them. Is there similar methods in England I could use? Anyone know a collection agency that deals with small amounts of internet funds? I could understand this happening with an overseas company, but England? There must be something that can be done. more

Resolved Question: What's the best way to permanently keep two cats separate in the same house?

We've had a second cat for nearly 6 months now and the first cat has never accepted her. There is absolutely no way we will ever give up the first cat, and although we are advertising to find a new home for the second, it's the last thing we want to do. At the moment we have them sharing the house - one is shut in one room for a period of the day while the other roams free, inside and out, and then vice versa. They're both pretty much fine with it, but we do feel bad for them. We are moving soon and assuming we keep the second cat (whether we will or not isn't part of the question), does anyone have any fabulous ideas as to how we can separate them without limiting their freedom too much?I should have mentioned - the first cat hisses whenever she sees the other, which makes the other run at her, they fight, they both run outside - to cut a long story short, and we got an animal behaviourist in to be sure, the first cat will either never accept the second, or needs a lot longer to get used to her, during which time they must be separated physically and visually. Letting them fight it out is too risky.Oh and they're both female, both spayed, the first cat is 12 and the second cat is nearly 2. more

Resolved Question: Is this an illegal form of advertising?

Okay, so I'm 14 and I've been using this site called FreebieJeebies, and to get my free item, which in this case is an iPhone 4 - 32GB SIM FREE, I have to get 29 referrals, which basically means I have to get 29 people to sign up at this link http://apple.freebiejeebies.co.uk/338359 So far, from YouTube videos and just posting around forums, I've made 1 referral, and at this rate it's going to take ages to get my iPhone. I want to use the methods that the guy in this video teaches http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUOku7gPRvY So I want to like go around and whenever I go out and I like go to public toilets, I will put like little business cards down or like flyers. I was just wondering though, is this illegal? I will be like leaving them on tables deliberately and when I go camping soon I want to use this as a chance to place more around the village we're going to. The business card will just have "Free iPhone" printed at the top, with some information underneath and then a website I will be setting up for it. So here are my questions... 1) So, what parts of this are illegal? 2) How much trouble could I get into for this? 3) Am I likely to get into trouble? P.S. It may sound stupid, but on the business card I'm going to say that I'm a woman and that the website is run by me, to bring in more people. P.S.S. I don't want any answers saying this website is fake, I know for a fact it's real.I don't care if it was illegal for the website to make me want to sell this idea, I'm not selling it. Also, could you please just answer the questions I ask? I only want to know about if it's illegal to place around the business cards. more

Open Question: What is the most suitable thing to do?

My idea is building an online delivery company to deliver food products to people. Moreover, nobody here does that kind of service. Everything is online except having cars and some employees for delivery. Do you think that i can generate a lot of money by online advertising if my website is very popular (aside from the delivery service) or do you think that time is out for new generations to start making money on the web. Because of the freaking amounts of people that are in many online businesses. I really want to know how things really work. Because most of youngsters that made it big, were involved in online activities. So i think too much between the both. But first i want to concentrate on my delivery business, but want to learn how can i make it proper. Like how can i sell it to big organisations. And how do you find your experience with the web. Because i don't want to blog or affiliate, i want to do something i love and turn it to profits. Bottom line is how to use the internet to make it really BIG??? more

Resolved Question: is my pet shop allowed to sell fish under another name?!?

hi, there is a pet shop i use which is near to me, and i have been buying their things for many years, i trust that they are better informed than most other pet shops and the staff are required to create their own 1-3 page care sheets as 'homework' once a month (i know this because my friend works there- they have a rota, and those on 'mammal duty' need to prove they know the proper care of a specific animal, eg hamster, and hand it in to the boss. anyone who gets more than 5 things wrong is given time off to study the care of that animal and adjust their care sheet, they get 3 strikes and then are 'demoted' if they prove to not know much about the animals. anyway, those are the reasons why i prefer their shop to others, (that and the animals are always in pristine surroundings, plenty of space, and their food bowls are always clean- a sign of neglect in pet stores is if there is a green rim around the water bowl. they even put out leaflets and care sheets for each animal and let you know the test results of their water every week.) the problem is that i decided id like to have some fish they have there, they advertise them as 'albino pygmy corydoras'. yet i have just been told there is no pygmy corydora of the albino variety, they are just selling young albino corydoras. are they allowed to advertise these as pygmy? they also state very clearly 'these pygmy's are great for those who cant get a big enough tank for the larger species, they like lots of room and a well established tank and prefer to be in groups of 3 or more, but wont grow to the size other corydora's catfish do!!!' do they realise that they arent pygmy, but babies of the normal albino corydoras? more

Voting Question: Hi there, I would like to know what my rights are concerning a vehicle that I bought It was bough on ebay,?

I have bought a jeep on line (ebay), good mileage, new tires, and an mot. It was advertised with a knock at certain speeds (rpm), I was a bit hesitant but when I saw the mot was for one year and the seller was a trade dealer with good rating, I was pretty happy it was an ok car to bid on. I won with a price just over £1000 and was happy with the jeep when I picked it up. The knock was non existent except when my foot hit the pedal hard! It drove well, and had some nice power. I was totally happy. My wife and I went for a nice drive in the country the next weekend, but the motor started really knocking. I have owned this vehicle for 3 weeks and driven it a grand total of 2 hours, am gutted. I have taken it to the shop to investigate whats going on but I would like to know if I am able to ask for the costs of repairs to be covered by the seller (Trade dealer) or return the car to this dealer. Voting Question: If my wife has plastic surgery will our kids be better looking?

We're trying for a baby at the moment but the problem is my wife is pig-ugly. I don't want my kids to be ugly, not because i'm shallow, or anything like that, but because I know how much being ugly can hold people back in life. So i'm thinking of propositioning my wife with the idea that she get a facelift and nosejob before we engage in further unprotected sexual congress. I've priced up the operations and they are just about within budget, although the baby will have to do without that luxury cot the wife has already picked out. How can I ask my wife? I don't want to hurt her feelings. Ever since i met her i've told her she is beautiful. That's probably why she married me, so i don't want to just tell her she's ugly. I'm thinking of making up some fake leaflets advertising half price surgery, or something, and leaving them on the kitchen table. That way i can pretend they came through the letter box and say, "hey, dear, look at this.... well, you might as well go for it, at those prices." Do you think this might work? more

Voting Question: Does anybody remember these McDonalds Happy Meal toys that I can remember?

I can remember them back as far as when I was 2 in 1992 when they were of Ronald McDonald. In 1993 when I was 3 I can remember getting Ronald McDonald playing an electric guitar. Also I got one of that girl with Ronald McDonald singing with a microphone. Does anyone remember those toys? The Happy Meal toys used to be very good at those times. I then remember getting as though I did not like the toys when it got to 2000, 2001 as they started doing soft toys that you cuddle up to in bed. I can remember getting Mr Happy in Mr Men when I was 10 in 2000 and I can remember them advertising soft toys of little children's cartoon's on Sky1. In 2001 though when it was my 11th birthday I can remember getting annoyed with them as I no longer liked the toys they put in the happy meals. I tried giving them back this cuddly dog toy they had but they wouldn't. I don't follow the Happy Meal toys now though as i'm a man and I grew out of them in 2001 for the reason I was just saying. That is all my memories about the Happy Meal toys. What toys can you remember getting from McDonalds in your childhood? Also can you remember the ones that I have just mentioned? more

Voting Question: Can a dog breeder ask for further money if I want to KC register a puppy myself?

About 6 months ago we bought a pedigree puppy (she wasn't advertised as KC reg but both parents were) and she was cheap for the breed. We decided recently that we would breed her. we approached the breeder again to see if he would be willing to disclose both parents KC numbers so that we could get her KC registered ourselves. He asked for an additional £300. Upon speaking to several people, they have told us that this is actually illegal on 2 points: 1) The KC database is public and registration numbers should not be kept private. 2) The sale has already taken place so additional money should not be requested. Can anybody shed some light on this confusing matter? And is there a way of getting her registered without the parents numbers/ a way of getting them? Thanks in advance Markthanks for the prompt responses. sorry, I seem to be confusing some people. Upon sale, he told me that he didn't want to KC reg them as nobody would pay his price and wanted a quick sale. regarding registration, he told me that I would have no problems registering her myself. after the comments I have so far and looking at the KC website, would I be correct in assuming that HE would have to register her as opposed to myself with him being the owner of the parents? Thanks again, Mark more

You see when I first took her out, and believe me, I nearly thought I was going to die. I went around the owners and this big dog came flying out at me, snapping and barking in my face. Not a good start, I thought. They gave me a long, blue lead, which was the type that hurt the hands when the dog pulled. I attached it to her and they said 'see you soon, good luck...' No sooner had we got out of the gate, she dragged me down the road and saw a cat. Crap, I thought and dragged her away with all my might, the collar was very loose, making her even harder to control. I knew I wouldn't be able to walk her so I went to my neighbours and borrowed a halti... The dog was incredibly obedient now I had control. In the last three months she will now play with other dogs, big or small when before she tried to eat them. [I introduced her to other friends respectful dogs] and she knows sit, lay, paw, other paw, hi five, Heel, stay and dead now and has an amazing recall! I did this, so please don't say I can't handle big dogs. I love her, and she is my favourite dog, I take her out for an hour daily but a lot of the time more. My second dog is a Cane Corso... I took her out three times a week but now only when needed... Yes, she is a great dog but had severe aggression wit other dogs... She is being professionally trained. Third dog I will be taking out in a few weeks. She is a eight week old Husky female, and very fiesty. These are my only clients at the moment and I would like to have more now... The leaflets I produce have DOG WALKER on the top my number at the bottom and prices... Should I have prices on there? Or not? The prices are: Well trained dogs- Small Dog: 4.00 pounds an hour Medium Dog: 4.50 pounds an hour Large Dog: 5.00 pounds an hour GIANT Dog: 5.50 pounds an hour Dog aggressive- Small Dog: 4.50 pounds an hour Medium Dog: 5.00 pounds an hour Large Dog: 6.00 pounds an hour GIANT Dog: 7.00 pounds an hour [Note: If dog has a muzzle and Halti price per hour is the same for a non aggressive dog] People Aggressive: Small Dog: 4.50 pounds an hour Medium Dog: 5.50 pounds an hour Large Dog: 6.50 pounds an hour GIANT Dog: 8.00 pounds an hour [Note: If dog has a muzzle and Halti price per hour is the same for a dog aggressive dog.] Is that okay - Am I charging too much or too less?? And what are good paces for advertising? if you have any more advice that would be great! more

Voting Question: If a job asks for a years exp is it worth applying?

Hello there's a vacancy I'd love to apply for however it states at least a years experience required. I have around 2-3months exp in this area. I'd love to work for this company and believe I would be good at the role. Shall I apply and explain my lack of exp or ask for a part time role as the one advertised is full time. Honest opinions greatly appreciated I can think of nothing else but this vacancy! more

Voting Question: EBAY Will not let me purchase a leatherman multi tool?

I wanted to buy a leatherman multi tool on ebay USA but EBAY wouldnt allow me to purchase it because it goes against their weapon and knives policy. This is what appeared on their website when i tried to purchase one. Dear buyer, To prevent the circumvention of the eBay.co.uk and eBay.ie Weapon and Knives policy, it is not possible for you to bid on, or buy this item. Thank you for your understanding. eBay Trust & Safety Does anyone know how i can purchase one off ebay? I cant understand why they allow people to advertise these items if they wont allow me to purchase one. Im wondering does it have anything to do with the fact that im registered with ebay UK and its against their policy to buy these items whereas ebay USA dont have restrictions on these items? Has anyone come across this before and know if thre is anything I can do to be allowed to purchase one? Thanks. more

Voting Question: Freedom Of Information Act regarding my previous employment UK ONLY?

Freedom Of Information Act regarding my previous employment UK people ONLY I worked at the Local Council and I was ''forced'' out for making a racist complaint , so I got the boot when they had they chance I went tthrough all the legal aspects but got nowhere as nobody would back me up And I was told that if in the future I Was applying to work for the council again and I was getting nowhere then my legal team would look into that for me I was told there would be no black mark against me in my files etc But how can I know for sure My questions is can I use the Freedom of Information act to see what info they hold in my personal file Or Data protection laws maybe My second questions was can the Council advertise INTERNAL jobs only does that not constiture any human rights freedom of work laws I read a lot that people are getting sued and taken to court for trivail reasons in employment issues I know they can make the rules as they want they are offering the work But surely to advertise to everybody is the fair way and its Local Government and not a private company And everybody know Internal applications are basically saying the jobs going to my best friend or next door neighbour When I was working there 16 out of 24 people got there jobs because they knew the manager and were cherry picked off employment registers cheers Tan more
