Open Question: Which career opportunity do I accept?

I am 25 years old and I am currently employed with a corporation as a sales manager in California which I have been with for two years. I have been interviewing with two companies to bring me back to Chicago and both companies offer cars and equally good benifits. I have two offers on the table and I really need advice which route to take. Career 1: Company will give me an existing territory of $10,000,000 that consists of Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. They will also put me through their in house training "University" which will look like a PHD in the industry for these products. This company is the largest manufacturer of these products in the world with limit-less possibilities of promotional opportunities within. The problem is that the salary will be the same as my current job through the 6 month training program which then I will get a $5,000 pay increase on my salary. This company also offers a yearly bonus up to 40% of the salary which could turn out to be a total of $95,000 (salary+bonuses) in the beginning years of my career. Lastly this company has a huge product offering and the best technical support in the nation. Career2: Also a mulit billion dollar corporation, but a small division within the company that is relatively new to the industry. This company will start me with no existing business but extra $7,500/ year on my salary with quarterly bonuses up to 25% of the salary for the year. I will also have a larger territory which means more travel as well. With this company there is only one product line to sell. The issue is that money is really tight and the extra $7500 a year on the salary will help out big time in comparison to the other opportunity. So which would you take the guarenteed long-term career with promotional opportunities, more money in the long run and the education with existing business with a smaller salary or the more up front cash on the salary with no existing business with a large company with a division in the early stages? I am so stressed out about this and I really need advice! Thank you more

So my husband was invited to his cousins wedding, a cousin he hates he does not want to go and we are both convinced she only invited us to get a gift. about a year ago, I went to my local furniture store and was granted enough credit to purchase my living room set. They offered no interest for 2 years. My brother-in-law went to the same store last week and was given no interest for 4 years. This really bothers me...will the bank offer me the same deal and give me another 2 year extension? in addition, my wife wants to get a dining room table, so i'm thinking of offering the salesperson a deal: if he could extend my promotional offer, then I will get the dining room set and give him/her an easy sale (i still have enough credit to take out the dining room table) has this happened to anyone else? can I pull this off? any ideas?wouldn't the salesman be eager to help me if I offer him an easy sale? An electronics gadgets store is having a hard time selling some of its laptops. Because of this, they tried to do some promotional sale for some high end laptops. If the laptop costs Php 70,000 but depreciates at 2% monthly, what should be their minimum principal price after not being able to sell the laptop for 2 months for promotional offer if they will be imposing 1% interest per month for 12 months? So when you say depreciation - that would be a decrease in the cost of the laptop. The interest on the other hand means an increase in their price. Right? A website where users can submit original songs (with copyright info for protection) and other users can listen, rate, comment, share, and chat with users. Users could also create a main page where they could post info, and find new band members with the band member finder. I would have contests throughout the site for users to enter. I think this idea is great since there is not much competition other than www.purevolume.com, and it would be a great way for bands, artists, and musicians to promote themselves and get feedback. I was going through my old kid toys and while I was looking through my lego bionicle collection, I found a "Bionicle Quest for the Nest" board game. My last idea is to become a dealer of Kaeser and Blair. They sell promotional products to businesses like pens, hats, shirts, mugs, etc. with company logos on them. It costs $85 to become a dealer and you get a website, catalogs, and example items to show your clients. You then try to sell as much as possible, you get 50% of sales, and Kaeser and Blair makes and ships the products to your clients. They have been around for over 100 years. I know they are legit since i called the Better Business Bereau BBB of their location and the Chamber of Commerce. This Institute offers a curriculum for fashion marketing students that touch on the fundamentals of marketing, product development, merchandising management, and more and with combining my determination with a strong education I can pursue a my career as a buyer and fashion consultant. As a student, personally, I would work in ways that help me to stay committed and successful. When I have a foundation around me, getting the work done isn’t as complicated as it may appear because I use other’s support as fuel to work harder. I know that as a graduating high school senior my mind is more determined than ever and so regardless of whatever environment I am placed in, I am set on prevailing and I am aware of the hardships to come. I was wondering who would know, but, my question is, how come when I get on to the Battlefield BC2 website it says in the announcements that SPECACT individual and Bundle sales are now available yet when I go on to the XBL Marketplace there isn't any add-ons other than the VIP which I already have from purchasing the collector's edition and pre-ordering. okay so i was at a JCPenney"s and i asked the sales associate if they sell their jewelry on monthly payments and they said yes if you have a card. so i applied for one. i didn't know it was a credit card! i thought it was like a Safeway card when it just gives u discounts when you enter in your number etc.. i"m okay with having it because i"m only 19 and have barely any credit (I've only purchased a ring from Kay jewelers, & pay for my t-mobile bill) and i think it will be good for me. my mother says its bad and to cancel it asap. she says even if you don't use it there is a yearly charge for not using it that's what happened with her Macy's card. i read all the paper work and it says: *no interest for 6 months *no interest for 12 months *no interest until January 1, 2011 *no interest until June 1, 2011 *no interest until July 1, 2011 *no interest until January 1, 2011 *no interest until December 1, 2012 "for each promotion, after the promotion ends, the APR that applies to your Account when the promotional purchase is made will apply. The gas station by my boyfriends house sells cigarettes individually that clearly say in capital letters "PROMOTIONAL PRODUCT, NOT FOR INDIVIDUAL SALE" I've told the sales clerk many times that the cigarettes should be either buy 1 get 1 free or some type of sale. Resolved Question: Do Satellite TV providers offer "cafeteria style" promotions to new customers?

I intend to leave my cable co and try one of the "big 2" satellite TV providers for the first time. Some friends have said to get the best deal you can the first time because existing customers get absolutely nothing in terms of good deals or promotions. To that end, I am constantly bombarded with a variety of advertisements for all kinds of packages, bundles, special pricing, extras, etc., and although some of these are better than others, they are all pretty much boilerplate and seem to be part of a "promotional rotation" of sorts. At any given time, if I were to call to place an order, I expect at that moment there would be a handful of current promotions in effect to choose from--maybe one includes a bundle with internet service, another locks in a special price for x months and throws in a few months of Showtime, etc. etc. etc. Obviously I could sign up for one of those. I assume it's safe to say I could also sweet-talk my way into a deal that's not currently offered if it's in a "known format" to the sales agent, or if it is identical to a deal they offered during the previous few months. What I want to know is if it's possible to make my own deal in a cafeteria style format (assuming it also makes sense for them to accept/agree to it)? I have a strong suspicion that the person I talk to either will have no authority or empowerment to discuss, much less agree to, any deal that isn't one of the pat ones he's been trained on, or, that his computer will not permit such an order even if he had the power to authorize it. Am I right about this, or do the sales agents have much more flexibility and autonomy than I give them credit for, in which case I might be able to broker a mutually-beneficial, but non-standard deal? more

Resolved Question: Is stolen art worth more money?

I once spotted a piece of artwork that was painted in the late '60's as a promotional thing for the Hormel company. It was on canvas and it was like 3 feet by 5 feet. It was an abstract painting of a hot dog walking down the street, in platform shoes, and a cloud with a propeller on it trying to lick the hotdog. The painting was sitting on top of a cooler in a meat market, and the owners basically forgot about it. I offered them $50 for it and they said they didn't know. A couple of weeks later, I offered them $100 for it, they chuckled as if they were flattered and said "no". A few months later the painting was gone, and one of the guys who worked there, said they put it in the basement. He also said someone accidentally poked a hole in it while moving a table. So now I have been seeing a painting that is abstract and shows a sunset of blue, with a deer and a rabbit holding hands, walking down a road into the sunset, with a blue house in the woods. I offered to buy the painting, that sits in a coffee house and they said it wasn't for sale. If I stole that piece of artwork would it be worth more money? more

I’ve been working at Walgreens for 2 years now. To set up the story my general store manager told not just me but all the store employees that we accept any coupon even expire ones; he has been doing this for ever. During the holiday season I was told by him and the manager below him that we are able to use a $5 coupon (a store coupon) to increase store sales and promotional sales. This past week Lost Prevention came into my store. Basically me, another department staff and a manager was grilled to make a confession. So the other staff members were sent home and a manager. A week passed and they were written up. Yesterday my store manager told me to sign a letter. In the letter it stated that I know I did something wrong and that if I do it again I will be fired, it’s my finally warning. I told him I didn’t want to sign the paper and wanted to talk to my brother to ask for advice. He told me just sign, hurry up and this thing will be over. So as a dummy I signed it. My question is this, if he was aware that all the employees not just four of us used that coupon direct by him to increase sales why where we in trouble. Not him, everyone else in the store. I feel as I was picked on. Throughout Christmas time I work 9 days straight and working nights and mornings with less than 8hrs of rest and that isn’t illegal. I dont even take breaks or lunch. She was the CO of this company (Hospitality Group) and I was a G Manager/ Promoter of one of the businesses. Well the owner (my friend) liked her so a lot of jealous went on behind closed doors.So we both left... I was making about 4000 cash a month and so was she... Then I decided to start a promotional business throwing events and concerts.. Started as being funded by me.. I was living downtown by myself. I had an 2006 f150 i have owned for 2 years almost paid off ... From my past relationship. Well I kept it in my past gfriends name because she had better credit(I have no credit and I was getting paid cash)= no loan... The past gfriend decides to file bankruptcy and takes my truck well So now I am living a block away from work still functioning fine when the new gfriend ask me to me move in so ... well i do and then she lets me drive one of the cars... Well we both quit our jobs at the sametime and open a limo company and a promotional company together. We are both smart and motivited so we have 3 sucessful events ... Net $6000 right out the gate we blew some of it paid some bills and put money back into other events... Then we start taking losers and the money haulted completly..
