Open Question: question about promoting art and sales?

hi there, i have a small operation making and selling my own jewelry. i'm thinking about sending out some promotional materials to some stores outside of my town to expand. so far i've sent out some emails and gathered telephone numbers to contact stores, i want to get the ok to send something before actually sending stuff that might just be thrown away. it's only been a day, but should i be stressing that i haven't gotten any replies yet? maybe some businesses don't check their emails everyday? does anyone else have any experience with this sort of thing? more

He's completely respectful - doesn't pressure me and actually wants to take it slow. Last month he blurted out "baby" and caught himself saying he didn't "want to go too fast" - now he calls me "babe" all the time. I'm not one to give it up easily and once I teased him and he said, "no, let's wait...". He's super affectionate w. me and doesn't mind doin this in front of his friends... He makes time for me w. our busy schedules; for not even being "serious" or official, he took me to this big, fancy restaurant for valentine's day and surprised me with a rose and all those vday treats afterwards. He never lets me pay, he's taken me to scenic views (which i LOVE), etc...love it. He even offered to take me shopping b/c he heard MAC was having a promotional sale lol (and i refused, of course). Of course, I'm just as caring as he and surprise him w. little things as well. At a party last week, his cousin came and was surprised w. us and put us on the spot (in front of everyone) and asked for our status...i told him to answer (since he was the guy), he was embarassed as well, smiled and said, "we're dating..." So it's almost march and i guess we've been doin all this for 2months...is this a step up? And also, though we've been "talking" since early january, starting to date near end january and it's end of feb now...it just feels weird to me...I feel like it's gone by so fast yet it's only been a month. Not complaining, I usually ask the guy his intentions but in this particular situation, I feel there's no need and he seemed to have a "plan" fr. day 1. Voting Question: Unfair treatment at work I think?

I’ve been working at Walgreens for 2 years now. To set up the story my general store manager told not just me but all the store employees that we accept any coupon even expire ones; he has been doing this for ever. During the holiday season I was told by him and the manager below him that we are able to use a $5 coupon (a store coupon) to increase store sales and promotional sales. This past week Lost Prevention came into my store. Basically me, another department staff and a manager was grilled to make a confession. So the other staff members were sent home and a manager. A week passed and they were written up. Yesterday my store manager told me to sign a letter. In the letter it stated that I know I did something wrong and that if I do it again I will be fired, it’s my finally warning. I told him I didn’t want to sign the paper and wanted to talk to my brother to ask for advice. He told me just sign, hurry up and this thing will be over. So as a dummy I signed it. My question is this, if he was aware that all the employees not just four of us used that coupon direct by him to increase sales why where we in trouble. Not him, everyone else in the store. I feel as I was picked on. Throughout Christmas time I work 9 days straight and working nights and mornings with less than 8hrs of rest and that isn’t illegal. I dont even take breaks or lunch. Ok so here it is... I question a lot right now, because my girl and I have started on fire and I mean fire.. She was the CO of this company (Hospitality Group) and I was a G Manager/ Promoter of one of the businesses. Well the owner (my friend) liked her so a lot of jealous went on behind closed doors.So we both left... I was making about 4000 cash a month and so was she... Then I decided to start a promotional business throwing events and concerts.. Started as being funded by me.. I was living downtown by myself. I had an 2006 f150 i have owned for 2 years almost paid off ... From my past relationship. Well I kept it in my past gfriends name because she had better credit(I have no credit and I was getting paid cash)= no loan... The past gfriend decides to file bankruptcy and takes my truck well So now I am living a block away from work still functioning fine when the new gfriend ask me to me move in so ... well i do and then she lets me drive one of the cars... Well we both quit our jobs at the sametime and open a limo company and a promotional company together. We are both smart and motivited so we have 3 sucessful events ... Net $6000 right out the gate we blew some of it paid some bills and put money back into other events... Then we start taking losers and the money haulted completly.. Hi, I have a problem that just isn't as simple as telling me to stop! I can't live within my income. I am 40 years old and only have 200.00 in the bank. I have bad self control when it comes to NOT spending my money. According to my figures I should be able to pay my bills and have money left over even after expenses. I work from home so I have almost no commuting expenses, my house is paid for, my car is paid for (but was wrecked so now needs about 2000.00 in body work) and basic living expenses. It's not as if I am living high on the hog! My grocery bill has been slimmed and cut. I use coupons, shop sales, etc. My washer and dryer are 15 years old all my household furnishings are 10 years old from major home remodeling 10 years ago. I don't care for clothes or shoes shopping. I have very basic stuff. I don't even own any makeup. I get my hair done 2x year at the beauty school, do my own manicures. And I can almost justify everything I spend. Examples just this week: Such as today one store had a sell on name brand (our favorite) 20pk of toilet paper for 10.99, if you buy 2 you get a 5.00 gift card and I already had a 10.00 gift card from a prescription promotional several months ago. So I bought two packs for 22.00-10.00 gift card-4.00 coupons (2.00 of each multipack) and only paid 8.00 THEN I bought two more using the other 5.00 gift card I got for the first two and coupons. SO I got 80 rolls of toilet paper for 21.00. Really a good deal, right BUT I already have 150 rolls in storage bought on previous sales. Another store had Dawn on sale for .99 and I had coupons for 1.00/2 so each one was .49. I this week added 20 bottles to the other 62 in the cabinet. And another any Suave product on sale .89 using coupons buy 1 get 1 free had a total of 48 bottles of bodywash, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. I do the same with grocery purchases also. And I do donate quite a bit. I have been very blessed in my life even though things get really tight and pinch hard I have never had to go without. I just want to be able to make and KEEP a cushion. So any ideas what I can do to hold my money for short term but accessible for an emergency and long term? And just live off an allowance? more

Is getting the attention of a Major Label the only way a band can truly be successful? How much money are you investing each month into the success of your band versus what you are getting back from gigs, CD sales, and royalties from digital download vendors?
