I work for both a police and fire department. We are trying to get some new promotional items for the schools and children we help around town. I found the plastic firefighter hats that you can handout...But I can't find any police ones! Ok. Fiance' is a DJ. Has been booked pretty solid thru August- I have helped him every time. Recently, he had an outdoor event to do for his work- this is an all day thing. Up at 7 am and home at 10 pm. Fiance's children refuse to help him as there is nothing for kids to do there. My dd (10) and I go and help out. Fiance' is immediately complaining. Starting to unpack things and asks how many drinks I got- cause obviously not enough for all day. (We brought 18- 3 ... 6 packs.I figured one per person) His work also supplies us lunch and drink. So as we r unpacking people from work offer to help. Fiance' offers them a drink- that I brought taht there isn't enough of- for their genorosity- then tells me to get it for them. I do so nicely. He offered about 6-7 people right there. Later, fiance' gets a few promotional items that other businesses are giving away- he is away from the DJ booth about the entire day. He also managed to borrow a trailer so he could haul his motorcycle so he can ride it around at this event- that he is to be Dj-ing. One of the promotional items he got is a big canned drink- and he asked for one fro me- which was nice- I figured I'd share w/ dd. He continues to give our drinks away. (I should have written our names on them- but didn't think of it until later.) He says I am a selfish *itch and that he is doing nice things for these people who offered or did help. I tell him I wouldn't give away his hat or whatever promo items he got- to someone who helped out- I would at least ask- and after he complained tehre weren't enough. DD and I go to restroom- are going to have our big can when we come back. We look from the window- and see him handing it to some guy never saw before- who is watching the band in front of dj booth. So he gave away my/our drink. Says I shouldn't be mad- as it was free. Says I am stingy and selfish. Says he is going to get some while on motorcycle ride. (But always says things- and never follows thru- never does get any more drinks.) I hide a few of the remaining drinks- as long day and want dd to be hydrated- hot. I would have brought more drinks but had limited $$. (Fiance' does not get paid for doing this event.) So I tell him dd and I are going to listen to a band for a little while. We are reachable by cell. So taht's all I ever hear about anymore- how we didn't really help him- and disappeared for an hour- as he had to stay at the DJ booth. (IHe usually disappears and I run the booth/music- and can't find him- have to call his cell when people from his work as me things about this set or that.) Am I selfish and stingy? I only said something cause he was complaining about the amount of drinks- I thought 6 each was enough.... it is like he does it on purpose or something??? Would you prefer that we stop the onesies at the 12 mo size and make child-sized t-shirts instead for the older children? The 18 mo sized onesies measure 17.5 inches from the neck to the crotch -- that's a pretty big onesie!
