Open Question: How would I go about creating a website to earn some extra money? Where do I start & how?
I am currently out of work due to a temporary disability and I am interested in learning how I could make some extra money with creating a website. I know there are ways that I could post ad's for company's and get paid per click, which I know is not much. What I need to know is how do I go about finding company's to advertise for? Where would I go to create the site? How much web pages would I need for a basic site that could possibly bring in some small revenue? I am not looking for a Get Rich Overnight thing because I know it's not possible, but I do know that whether it's through blogging, advertisements, information, etc. that there are ways to make some money with a website. All I need to know is where to go to get started? Where can I find more information about this area? What are some Do's or Don't ? Thanks for your help moreOpen Question: I want to start blogging and am looking for a good and free web hosting site?

Hi! Id really appreciate it if anyone would help me to gain more referrals for freebiejeebies! Its an advertising site where once youve completed the three steps they send you a free item, such as an iphone or ipad! the item you choose will require you to get a certain number of referrals depending on the value of it. for example an ipod touch 8gb requires 8 referrals. to sign up please use the following link: http://gifts.freebiejeebies.co.uk/261801 ive put some more information about it below from my experience and from the actual website: HOW IT WORKS: 1. All you need to do is sign up (you only give details of age, email, name and address - so product can be delivered to you). 2. And then you simply complete an offer from the list shown after signing in, the most popular is Lovefilm.com as you only need to do a free trial and you can cancel before it ends so you do not pay a penny. (You do not have to do an offer from the link given on freebiejeebies, you can open a new web page and it will still work.) 3. Once you have completed an offer, you then have to refer friends to do the same. Once your friends have also done the 3 same steps as you, you will be given your free gift. *** I have done the offer myself and got an Ipod shuffle - It definately works! I didnt trust it at first, but after looking around and hearing from others it works i decided to give it a go. You do NOT need to give them any credit card details as the gift is FREE and you do NOT recieve any spam. Freebiejeebies recieve their products brand new in original packaging. Support from the website: Is this real? It most certainly is. It's an advertising scheme to get more people looking at some of the offers which we are affiliated with. Basically, when a user completes one of the offers on our site (e.g. LOVEFiLM) we get paid by the advertiser. This way, we can cover the cost of your free gift and still make a small profit. A lot of TV programmes and magazines have featured this sort of advertising, including BBC and the Wired magazine - so you can feel confident that it is genuine. The coalition invited the "views" of the masses. Was this information in the public domain? I was unaware of how to contribute until today, not a thing in the press, no mass advertising, nothing on the general Web, no mass mail, zilch. Having come across the means to respond, purely by accident, I accessed the relevant site only to be told that "no more contributions are required, the site is now closed" ???? Spin, mirrors and more spin. a total con, 70% of responders did not agree with current (coalition as opposed to Labour) governmental thinking, particularly on immigration and civil rights issues, but were deluded into believing that they were actually being given a "voice". Given the % of those who do not have Internet access, added to those who were uninformed as to where to respond, said response is hardly representative. .Con/Dem'd yet again.lol moreResolved Question: in layman's terms, what is the best way of promoting a web site in an effort to ensure traffic is attracted?

As most people here probably know, the Federal Trade Commission regulates certain kinds of advertising in the United States, and is charged with enforcing rules against deceptive statements in advertising, as well as some other abusive kinds of advertising. For example, there is an FTC rule against "bait" advertising -- as in "bait and switch" - advertising that a company uses to lure customers into a store or a web site in search of some item that the advertiser doesn't really plan to sell. In "bait" advertising, a company only uses the promise of having a particular item as "bait" to attract people who then will be presented with a pitch for other stuff -- for example, other consumer goods offered at much higher prices. From a "free market," "laissez-faire" standpoint, do you think that it's wrong for the FTC to impose rules on the advertising business in this way? Or is it okay? If you're a pure libertarian believer in free-market forces, for example, should the Federal Government just butt out of the advertising world completely, and allow advertisers to say whatever they want? Or not? moreResolved Question: HOW DO WEB SITES AND SHARE SITES BECOME POPULAR?

I'm trying find the right ad service for my website to maximize my profit. Right now I'm using google adsense on a blogspot site. As of now I am only making $100 a month with 100k+ hits per month. I hear that this number is very low and it's probably because it's on blogspot and they probably give u a much smaller amount because of it. I am looking to make about 3-5 cents per hit. As of now, the site is a blogspot which is a world of warcraft guide website. If you know a good ad service for me that I could use or tell me how much I can get with google ads with these numbers then that would be great. I plan on purchasing from godaddy a domain and to host it there but if you think another domain host site would be better for what I want then let me know. The reason I was thinking of godaddy was basically the package stuff seems pretty easy and it looks pretty cheap. I honestly don't know too much about web hosting so if you know of any problems let me know. I think it would be possible to hit over 1 million ad hits with an actual site so I can use a search engine and separate the links so that would generate more hits by itself. I also plan on advertising myself eventually after I start making a steady amount. Thanks for the info. As I heard though, since I am using a google domain, I hear that I make significantly less money because of that. If this is true, should I be trying to get another site up and running and if so, what domain name/host should I be looking for when it comes to someone new and doing ads? moreResolved Question: What business idea should I choose?
I am 13. Over the summer, I want to start an online business. I am currently taking a Business Camp at my school. My ultimate goal is to make six or more figures a year, and become Financially Independent. I know it sounds crazy since I'm only 13, but it is my dream. I have 2 major online business ideas that could work, but I need help choosing the one that would make the most money. 1. My first idea is a website where free users can submit original songs and other users can listen, rate, comment, share, and chat with other users. I would also have an area where users can post info and another area where bands can find new band members. To make money from the site, I would sell ad space, sell an ecourse on songwriting, and maybe creating a pro membership if the site becomes big enough. I have a problem though. Since I have no coding experience, I would have to hire a web design firm to create the site. The problem is that it might cost a lot ($100,000) to create the site. If it does cost that much, should i hire a programmer from elance or something like that? Thats how the website Digg was created. If it still costs a lot, should I have my parents apply for a loan from SBA? Overview of #1: Target Market: Musicians, Bands, Independent Artists, Songwriters. Hi! Id really appreciate it if anyone would help me to gain more referrals for freebiejeebies! Its an advertising site where once youve completed the three steps they send you a free item, such as an iphone or ipad! the item you choose will require you to get a certain number of referrals depending on the value of it. for example an ipod touch 8gb requires 8 referrals. to sign up please use the following link: http://apple.freebiejeebies.co.uk/299786 ive put some more information about it below from my experience and from the actual website: HOW IT WORKS: 1. For more proof please visit eXceem, which is a forum dedicated to the UK's Freebie Scene - www.exceem.co.uk Proof it works: Why not visit eXceem. eXceem is an independent forum where people discuss all aspects of freebie sites, such as ours. We have our own subforum on eXceem, and we are a 'supported' network, which means the owners of eXceem are confident that we will continue to provide gifts and a good quality of service to our customers. eXceem also has a thread called 'I got my free item' where people post pictures of the items they have received. eXceem members often post to show gifts they have received from us (many eXceem members call us 'FJ') - http://www.exceem.co.uk/forums/i-got-my-free-item/. Sometimes you might find that you are unable to complete one of the offers available through the links on our site (for instance, if you do not have a credit card or if you have already completed the offers that you would like to do). You can still get a gift from any of the freebiejeebies sites. All you need to do is obtain 3 extra referrals in addition to the number required for your chosen gift. So if you want to get a gift which is normally 6 referrals, you can get 9 referrals and we will accept 3 of them in lieu of your own offer completion. Hi all, I do a little web design and I've just finished my first commercial project after a year of looking for jobs. I've just tweaked and redesigned the website for PYNK London (search through Google please I won't post links as it would be considered as Spam). I would really appreciate if you could post what you thought of the look and feel of the site and if you looked at the portfolio how well it loaded also what you thought of the image choice. Please don't see this as advertising, I'm not looking for anyone to use the site (using the services benefits me in no way) just a bit of constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated. Don't hold back all comments welcome. Thanks! :)Please also let me know if you get any pop-ups or have any issues accessing the site. I'm using a mac and I have tested it on PC but I can't test with every type of browser so please post any issues with the message you get and which browser you use (eg Firefox 2). I'm aware of a couple of conflicts and I'm working through the programming to work out whats up but most people shouldn't have a problem. moreVoting Question: Why do web-sites mis-represent themselves?
Has anyone else noticed how often that web-sites say "Free to Join", when the truth is the following: The only thing which is "free", about these sites, is to register. How many people have noticed that, even when a web-site has a page, which, clearly states that "Your credit card information will ONLY be used for age verification". "You will NOT be billed for this visit" Yet, when you check credit/debit card statement, you find that you HAVE been billed, from $30.00, to $100.00, by the web-site. Is it not openly deceitful, for web-sites to promote "free access", when access is not "free" at all? Shouldn't web-sites be required to change advertising to say "Visit/Tour is "free", but access will cost (how much). Shouldn't Age Verification be changed into the more truthful: "Your credit/debit card WILL be billed this amount for your visit, today"? Why do/are so many web-sites so openly in-correct, or un-truthful, about access fee's. Why do web-sites offer "free access" when, from the moment that users begin signing up, credit/debit cards ARE, immediately, billed, for this "free access"? When makes this type of mis-representation any different than a local car dealer, who promises that "This car is a gem", yet it breaks down before the new owner arrives home, and has to pay towing charges? Any suggestions? moreVoting Question: how to advertise your web site in yahoo?

Hi, I need to take out an International student loan to help fund my studies but I need a co-signer who is a United States citizen. Has anyone else noticed how many web-sites claim to be "free", to access, yet, when one applies, the only thing which is actually "free" is to visit, and set-up, ones profile? What I am wondering is how difficult it would be to set up a dating web-site where there is NO COST, at all, for site users. I am suggesting a site where limited commercial advertising would pay for site operations. When I suggest that this site will be "free" to users, I mean No FEE's, for any part of the site. No fee's for: 1) Access 2) Creating a profile 3) Sending/Receiving e-mail 4) Instant Message and so on, and so forth. Content, of the web-site would be 90% left to users discretion, with the exceptions of threats of violence, and insulting/abusive/obscene acts, or wording. On this web-site, I am suggesting a category where, if users want to post nude photos, that these would be placed into a "restricted" category where, to enter, a user must re-enter access codes, to verify that they WANT to see such images. The site would, ofcourse, have one of those "survey" type pages, so users can rate both themselves, and those they want to date/mate. How difficult would it be, to set up such a web-page, or web-address/web-site? What would be needed, to begin such a venture? Any suggestions? moreVoting Question: Who is the "I Hate Sue" Girl?

Hi everyone. I'm looking for a good web hosting service preferably that is paid monthly and is at a very good price, Im trying to have a website for my small business which is service based so it doesn't need to be for eccommerce purposes more a case of a small site to advertise my services, no bigger than 10 pages in size. I keep coming to places to fasthost, 1&1, and justhost etc. but although they offer a lot of "special offers" they all seem to be misleading in that you either have to sign up to them for 24mths, but pay in full (although it usually states "just £4.99 per month") I realise that it may average out at that price per month but I cannot afford a large lump sum for hosting. So I'm either after a good host at a cheap monthly rate, or a good host which is an annual rate but doesnt need me to pay for 3yrs in advance. Any help will be appreciated.
