Open Question: google chrome error message 102?

before you tell me to google it, i've searched it on every search engine i could think of. they all tell me to make sure that "automatically detect settings" is checked. it is. i've uninstalled, reinstalled chrome. then unchecked and re-checked automatically detect settings. i deleted all cookies. installed google pack. i made sure firewall wasn't blocking it or whatever. i've done everything this site told me to do: http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=117805 is there anything else i can do? and btw, it's not just one website. it's every web page i try to go to. internet explorer works fine. but i hate internet explorer so i'm only going to use it until i fix chrome. internet explorer is slow and annoying. so PLEASE help me. more

well i recently installed AVAST anti-virus program from Cnet downloads. It was after a few i gt my pc that installed it, then i was browsing the web when a notification window said i had an infected file.So from ther i just opened AVAST and it caught 1 threat i sent it ti the 'virus chest' and deleted it there.But the wiindow keeps coming up say i have an infected file.and it woun't let me browse the web it blocks evry site; it read 'Internet explorer has blocked this site- may contain threats that mey harm your computer"its annoying bcuz it sites like google.And when i click 'more information' it takes me to this website that iz selling an anti-virus called Security Suites-and it annoyin becuz its site like msn, and google, etc..I'm currently using my other pc , while i use the AVAST program.Plz help...i appreciate all answers more

Open Question: Security Certificate Issue !?

I am working at a school. There is a website the students use as a resource. Every time i click "log in" i get a "There is a Problem with this sites security certificate" and then I have 2 options a green shield "close this web page" and a red shield "continue to this website (not Recommended) The reason it gives me is that the certificate is coming from another website. I have tried a few things to resolve this: I have added the site into the IE trusted sites list. I have tried to manually install the certificate (although i dont know if i did that correctly). I even tried lowering the security settings. AND I HAVE MADE SURE MY TIME AND DATE ARE CORRECT. Anyone have any tricks up their sleeve to resolve this ? more

So i made all the css Tags inside the header of the html code, and i have double, AND triple hcecked to make sure the naming is correct the spelling is correct, etc. Also, the css files are in the same folder, so when the media tag calls the "IpadPortrait.css" file, there is no extended file location, cause its in the same folder. If anybody can tell me why the css isn't applying itself to my website, it would be much appreciated. Useful tidbits: The website isnt hosted yet online, its still a local hosted apache web server. Open Question: Does my school have any right to get me in trouble for this?

So here is the story: I logged onto a school website (on my home laptop - no way affiliated with the school) so that I could check what my schedule would be for next year. Unknowingly, I somehow activated my schools web-filtering software on my computer. I closed the tab (and I think the whole browser) when I was done. I then entered into Private Browsing and searched some... adult oriented material. I got a Fortiguard web filtering page that said that the page was blocked due to adult content. i then cleared my computers Temporary Internet Files and cache and stuff using CCleaner and tried again. This time i could go anywhere on the web... Due to an overwhelming sense of curiosity, I tried it again and got blocked again. I was only after doing researh on Fortiguard that I found out it logs my query and the IP address. Anyway, my question is: As this apparently gets logged along with the IP address... does my school have any right to get me in trouble for this? Like could I get in trouble, or anything? It is middle of the summer, on a private computer (my parents bought it, the school has nothing to do with it), off school premises and without my knowledge... I recently purchased a Sanyo VPC-FH1A from amazon on the premise that the new iFrame format would be a great advantage when getting ready to edit my video on a MacIntosh. I just received it today. Shooting at a size of 960x540 I fully expected to get more record time on the 16GB card I purchased with the camera. The problem is I do not get any more recording time at the lower resolution. Sanyo posts the following record times for their recording options: (Actual time represented on my camera with a 16GB card inserted are in parenthesis) Full-HR: 1920 x 1080 - 60 fps/ 24Mbps : 1hr28min (1:29:59) Full-HD: 1920 x 1080 - 60fields/sec 16Mbps: 2hr11min (2:08:27) Full-SHQ: 1920 x 1080 - 30 fps/ 12Mbps: 2hr54min (2:50:35) HD-SHQ: 1280 x 720 - 30 fps/9Mbps: 3hr51min (3:45:14) TV-SHQ: 640 x 480 - 30 fps/3Mbps: 11hr06min (10:50:57) Web-SHR: 448 x 336 - 240 fps/8Mbps: 4hr19min (4:19:52) Web-UHR: 192 x 108 - 600fps/8Mbps: 41hr19min (4:19:52) Definitely off here from website specs.maybe a typo on their part... I am going out west in a few weeks and planned on recording the trip extensively so SD card space is at a premium. Secondly, I am not sure how easy the conversion process will go or if it is worth the overhead and if I export the video shot in HD will the "HD benefit" be lost exporting from iMovie. Thanks. Open Question: Computer Internet recovery?

Last night, my computer was affected with a virus. After removing it, it left my web browsers not working. Other internet applications such as Skype and Instant Messenger were working fine, but the Web browsers could not connect to any website. When I tried to go to a website using Mozilla Firefox, I got the message "The proxy server is refusing connections - Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections." However, I do not have any proxy servers set up. When I try to connect to a website using Internet Explorer, I do not get anything and in the status bar, all it says is "Connecting to site 127.0.0.1" whenever I try to access a website. Can anyone help me out on how I might be able to get my http web browsers to work again? I am using Windows Vista basic. Any help would be greatly appreciated. more

I have a full time job and all my tax and NI contributions are sorted out by the company. I am looking into setting up an online website selling cat products as a 2nd job, and I'm wondering what my tax and NI obligations will be? Would I just need to fill in a self assessment form on the earnings I make from the website and do I need to inform my employer that I have set up my own business? I don't foresee that I will make that much money by this venture, certainly not enough to take me above the 22% tax threshold, so I'm not worried about my tax code going up. If I paid for my website, then no one would get help. In fact, it would mean that earning online is simply impossible for such people! The data is sent as an HTTP post request to a specified URL. What this means is that you need a server which supports some form of scripting, and to write a script which performs the saving. Sample PHP script is included in this archive which will do the job. The script was kindly contributed by Daniel Fisher. This script saves text files for each user. They are called 'saveram.php' and 'loadram.php'. If your server doesn't support PHP, or you want to save in a different way (perhaps to a database) you will have to write your own script. You will need programming knowledge for this. If you're using free web space, you're probably out of luck, as these almost never support scripting. You can still use JavaBoy, but you won't be able to save your game. First off, thanks for looking at my question! :) Here's the story. Child support was ordered by the court for the father to pay waaaaay back in the day. He evaded it numerous times. Finally, now that the minor children are legal adults, the child support is being paid in arrears. The once-minor, now-adult kids are saying "Well....we aren't kids anymore. You don't need that money to pay for our school supplies, clothes, food, etc etc. It needs to be paid directly to us". I know...it's not theirs...you know it's not theirs...but the kids won't get off my friends back over it. I set out to find a web site online that lists the laws for Kansas child support, and something that says "If the child support wasn't paid when it was supposed to be paid...it's like paying a loan back....the money is still due to the parent that raised the children....not a free-for-all for the kids to burn it up." A long story short....I can't find it. I HAVE found websites that were designed by people just telling their experience in arrears payments, and they say the same thing I said above....but I need a government website to show them. I want to gain access to ABC Media Net (http://www.abcmedianet.com/web/homepage/default.aspx); however, they severely restrict their access to only affiliates of ABC. Now I have visited fansites for certain Actors and Actresses on ABC shows, and they seem to have HQ versions of the images featured on ABC Media Net's website. I have made contacted with as many individuals as I could; however, no one is willing to say where they acquired the large pictures. I have been told by some that they found a third-party software program that allows them to view and download ABC images, while other's have said they found a 'hack,' which they don't want to share. I am desperately trying to find a site where I can review and download the HQ pictures found on ABC Media Net. Does anyone have any idea of any other website (aside from Getty), where I could find those images? Has anyone every heard of, or used, the third-party software programs? Open Question: Website graphics help...?

Hi all, Here's what's going on - I'm in charge of recreating the company website. I know exactly what I want the site to look like... I've taken a class and know the basics of using Dreamweaver, and I'm learning more everyday. The web site is going to be pretty basic. The one detail I really really want but can't figure out how to get is changing pictures on the home page. Similar to a slideshow, where a picture will show for a few seconds, then fade out or simply switch to another picture. For example, http://www.jacobs.com/. So I'm wondering if this can be achieved in Dreamweaver, or if it has to be created in Photoshop, Flash or some other program and inserted into Dreamweaver? Please help. Thanks! Amanda more

I really don't know if this is a true email or not. Are these hackers just using smarter tactics, or is this an official email? Note: Another thing that confused me was that it's the US BattleNet; my WoW account is European.
