Recently YouTube has been running extremely slowly, (If you're going to talk crap and automatically assume it is my internet connection, just please take your fingers off the keyboard) Anyway, it seems as if it is certain videos and not really any in particular, some run better then others, some are extremely slow. It varies so much that it is impossible to classify why they are running slower then others. (I have Ad-block Plus which blocks Ad's, so the ads aren't doing it) But it's weird because, I could watch a whole Vevo Music video without it lagging, which has HQ even without HQ selected (Even in 380P and SD) but then I'll just watch a SD Simple direct webcam upload type video and it'll be loading every second or cause my whole Firefox to lag. What could be causing this, and why? Is it something besides the internet or YouTube? I have Windows 7, 32-bit and I use Mozilla Firefox web browser but also have the same problem with Internet Explorer. I keep getting redirected to sites 7 out of 10 times that I click my mouse. My last phone contract (with vodafone) just ran out so I'm looking around for something else now that I have the chance. I rarely use my phone, maybe just a few text messages a week to let people know when I'll be arriving and such but nothing much, and I hardly ever call anyone. My last contract was a $19/month plan and I never ever got anywhere close to the limit, I spent like a third of that. I'm looking for something around that price I guess at the max - I'd pay a little more for better coverage but not too far over. The problem is all I can find are either prepaid plans where you have to put in a certain amount each time (usually $20-$30) and it expires after a couple months, unused (this was what I was on before my last contract and I wasted so much on unused credit!) OR contract plans where you get a fancy new phone and $200 worth of calls and such for $29/49/69/month and it would just be totally wasted on me. I already have a perfectly good phone that calls and texts people and that's all I need it to do so I either want to keep it or get something very very budget like that. I just don't know what to ask for! I want the absolute bottom of the line stuff, I don't want a smartphone or a touchscreen or free facebook access or a 7 megapixel camera or anything like that. Is it even possible to get something like this? I'm very easily swayed by salespeople and when I went into the shop today they started talking about some new $49 cap plan and I had no idea how to ask for anything lower, so I really want to just walk in and say "I want your Special Technophobe Never-expiring Prepaid Plan for $20/month" and have them give it to me, you know what I mean? Or links to such plans on the internet would be good too. Website front pages always have their fancy phone deals in huge colourful ads and it's so hard to find the cheap budget options. Open Question: how do i get korean letters interpreted onto my computer?

I type in "math" on the left and click Translate and I see 3 boxes where the korean letters are supposed to be. Clearly, my computer doesn't recognize korean, so I can't use it. It starts to play ads in the background, even when my internet browser is closed, and also mutes the 'wave' slider on my volume control from time to time. I have scanned my whole computer using my anti-virus multiple times and it finds nothing. Plus, i have used system restore to a point 2 weeks before the sounds started and i have got no results... the sounds keep on playing. Resolved Question: Can I demand that my landlord pay for trash if the place was advertised to include all utilities?

I saw an ad on craigslist for a house, and it said that all utilities were included. When I signed the lease, I saw that water, gas, electricity, gardening, etc. were paid by the landlord, and that all other utilities (in my mind: phone, cable, internet) were to be paid by the tenant. But what I didn't notice until too late was that "trash" wasn't on there, and so I had to get the service put into my name. The landlord refused to pay for it, saying that it wasn't on the lease, which is what I signed, and I realize that. But given other things he's done, I know now that he did this on purpose to trick me into paying that utility, which is about $30 a month where I live and that's as low as it gets. I've since moved out of the house and have to sue him for my security deposit, which he never refunded. I'm doing this through small claims so there will be no attorney involved. I've been getting some free legal advice, but so far been mislead many times to the point I think I could get a better answer on here than through them. So my question is this: Can I also sue him for basically tricking me into paying for the trash service? I mean, I don't think it was that stupid of me to miss that the lease said "trash" when other things like water and electricity were on there. Do you think a judge would agree that the landlord was being misleading? I don't have the original ad that said that utilities were included, because it was on craigslist, and the ad has long since been taken down. I know $30 a month isn't too much money, but over the course of a year long lease it really adds up. Still, I don't want to sound like a (litigious) idiot in front of a judge. Thoughts?Well, he said that all utilities were included, and if you re-read you'll notice that even the gardening service is included, and it's a private house, so not like the gardener has anywhere else to go by my house. Other places I've lived, if the landlord paid for any utilities at all, it was just water and trash, and sometimes heat. Other times I've paid for all the utilities, and that's fine with me, as long as it's made clear upfront. In fact, when I first asked the landlord to make sure all utilities are included, he said that I only have to pay for phone, cable, and internet if I want them. He (verbally) made no mention that I would have to pay for trash, and unless he's under the impression that trash collection is an optional service then I think that was really misleading. Why be rude to me? I already admitted that I hadn't read the lease carefully. But I still don't think I'm a moron for missing "trash" when every other basic service was on there. o_0Oh, and I realize it was a long post, but if you read it you'll also see that I said that I'm suing him for not refunding my security deposit, which I'm certainly entitled to. He has my forwarding address, phone number, email, and anyway my mail from that address is forwarding to my new one, so it's not as though he couldn't get it to me. He won't return any of my calls or respond to any of my letters. I'm at the very least entitled to an explanation of why I haven't seen a cent of my security deposit, when I left the house in better condition than when I moved in. The reason the trash thing is annoying is that I was already paying more than the place was worth, for the convenience of having all my utilities included in the rent. For the last few days pop-up ads keep appearing randomly on internet explorer. This is strange to me because I only use mozilla firefox, and the ads are seemingly random. When I got home from work today there was more than 20 of them. I've scanned multiple times with AVG and webroot spysweeper. The spyware scan doesn't find anything interesting except for a couple cookies, but avg keeps finding trojans and in different locations on my computer. getting rid of the trojans has not stopped the popups though. Open Question: MSE caught two TrojanSpy.Win32...?

Microsoft Security Essentials recently found two TrojanSpy.Win32 trackers on my computer. I took the best course and removed them right away, but I'm a little miffed about it. First of all, does anyone know where they come from? How are they downloaded, and from what sites? The only sites I visit mainly are DeviantArt, Facebook, Yahoo!, and Amazon.com. I never click on those ads on the sides, and I be careful with what I do on the internet no matter where I am. Second thing I want to know is if MSE can be trusted. Will it pick things up as soon as they get there? I hope that it picked up the Trojan early in its download so it didn't go through too much. Other than that my computer has been working fine, if not a little bit slow on DeviantArt. It's a brand-new Inspiron Mini with Windows XP. I haven't had it for even a year, and it hasn't had any trouble before. And please don't give me any long explanations with computer-geek terms. I'm just a teenager! more

Open Question: How can i make my keyboard work from my guest account?

Yesterday, after i had been on /b/ all day, i saw that my nod 32 was blocking attacks from the same IP, each 2-3 seconds. It said it was blocking the address. It was late, and i was about to go to bed, so turned my computer off, and went to sleep. Today, i started my computer, and my keyboard was not working, i restarted the computer. Still not working, i went on my guest account, as i couldn't put my password in. It said something was fucked up with the drivers for my keyboard, so i tried to reinstall them, but i wasn't admin on the computer, so i couldn't. I took the keyboard on plugged it into my old computer, and it worked there. I opened internet, and clicked on a msn video, just to see if my headset was working, but it didn't. I tired to plug my wireless keyboard in, it connected to the little thingy you put in the usb, and the wireless mouse worked, but not the fucking keyboard. Im doing a virus search with both nod 32 and ad-aware. Nod 32 is on 99%, and it found no viruses. DO YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO WHEN IM ON MY GUEST ACCOUNT TO FIX THIS SHIT? Im on my old computer now, but its only good for surfing and playing wow. more

I mean, I am serious. I want to have a boyfriend, get married, and all that stuff that normal people do. But I am sooo lost in the internet that it LITERALLY eats up my entire day. Voting Question: How can I stop the popups?

I am currently running windows xp, and use Chrome for internet. I have avast!, spyware doctor, and Ad-Aware 07 (possibly more, but it is fairly unlikely). I download extremely often, mostly torrents (pirate bay), and I scan everything I download. Earlier today, I had a few popups come up that I have never seen. I immediately closed out of them, so I really can't say what they were. I have had a few pop up since then, and have closed out of those quickly as well. The popups are opening in internet explorer, a program I deleted over a year ago. I actually just looked for it in start/all programs, then in the program files as well; I did not find it. I stated somewhere earlier I use Chrome. I also occasionally use Firefox for things in which Chrome is not yet compatible. I recently downloaded Bumptop. I installed it last night with no problems. This morning I accidentally uninstalled it, then reinstalled it. It was some time after reinstalling the popups began. The popups do not appear often, I will likely update with the exact url if they popup again. Sorry I can't specify what they are, I have very little experience dealing with things like this as I always manually scan everything I download. If any further information is required, just post an answer requesting the information and possibly where to find it. I will update my question as needed. Ok, so.. when I try to start no$gba it goes to my downloads and when I click on a rom (pokemon platinum) it says "cartridge not found". I have looked on the internet forever but didn't really understand it all. People have said to go to emulation settings but I don't even know where that is. All I see are my downloads and "cartridge not found". So I was wondering if anyone had this problem ad figured it out. I have been employed ever since I was 15 1/2 till 18, and currently, I am 18 years old as a college student with a high school diploma, and I am unemployed. I have experiences in tutoring, telemarketing, sales, and web designing. So, I've been searching through craigslist ads to apply for jobs, and I came across this ad which was under security, as security video monitoring and this other ad under office, as data entry and internet research, which exactly fits my available schedule. I then sent my resumes through to the craigslist email addresses. On the ads, there was no phone numbers, email addresses, names, addresses, or any other type of contact information other than the given email addresses attached to the craigslist ads. The craigslist ads did not say to send resumes, so all I did was copy and paste the given email addresses attached to the craigslist ads and the given job description headline names under subjects, and I didn't have any short conversations, I just sent my resumes. How do I apply for jobs through craigslist ads? I've been waiting for a few days, and I haven't had any replies back by any craigslist ads under jobs. Please help. I have never been so unemployed, and it does not feel pleasant at all. Has any one else had similar situations? more
