Open Question: Free website hosting? For tiny business in Vietnam?
A tour guide has asked me to help him advertise his one-man business in Vietnam by setting up a website for him. Any cost is too much....(many in Vietnam live on $1/day or so). What is a good hosting site for a free web page? It would be best if I can easily upload a site for him from frontpage (which I can use) with his email address and some photos and information. It should be findable for tourists from the US and Europe, his main customers. Any suggestions for both hosting and ways to get it to pop up on searches would be helpful; I'm just doing this as a favor. moreOpen Question: Problem with Yahoo mail.?
Have a small problem with Yahoo mail & can't see any way to contact them - only links seem to be for BT. I have always had a signature on my emails - a link to the holiday home we run (free advertising!!) I have a new website so tried to take out the link to a listing website I had put there & insert my own web site address. The problem is that where as before the link would automatically highlight it's self so it could be clicked on the new address doesn't. I have sent it to my other email address in the body of the email & in the signature but it doesn't work anymore. I have tried putting back the old link & that doesn't highlight any more either. I need to be able to send this website address link to potential guests - have I done something wrong or have Yahoo done something?? moreVoting Question: What is the best approach to get traffic to my website?

Hi! Id really appreciate it if anyone would help me to gain more referrals for freebiejeebies! Its an advertising site where once youve completed the three steps they send you a free item, such as an iphone or ipad! the item you choose will require you to get a certain number of referrals depending on the value of it. for example an ipod touch 8gb requires 8 referrals. to sign up please use the following link: http://gifts.freebiejeebies.co.uk/261801 ive put some more information about it below from my experience and from the actual website: HOW IT WORKS: 1. All you need to do is sign up (you only give details of age, email, name and address - so product can be delivered to you). 2. And then you simply complete an offer from the list shown after signing in, the most popular is Lovefilm.com as you only need to do a free trial and you can cancel before it ends so you do not pay a penny. (You do not have to do an offer from the link given on freebiejeebies, you can open a new web page and it will still work.) 3. Once you have completed an offer, you then have to refer friends to do the same. Once your friends have also done the 3 same steps as you, you will be given your free gift. *** I have done the offer myself and got an Ipod shuffle - It definately works! I didnt trust it at first, but after looking around and hearing from others it works i decided to give it a go. You do NOT need to give them any credit card details as the gift is FREE and you do NOT recieve any spam. Freebiejeebies recieve their products brand new in original packaging. Support from the website: Is this real? It most certainly is. It's an advertising scheme to get more people looking at some of the offers which we are affiliated with. Basically, when a user completes one of the offers on our site (e.g. LOVEFiLM) we get paid by the advertiser. This way, we can cover the cost of your free gift and still make a small profit. A lot of TV programmes and magazines have featured this sort of advertising, including BBC and the Wired magazine - so you can feel confident that it is genuine. You can still get a gift from any of the freebiejeebies sites. All you need to do is obtain 3 extra referrals in addition to the number required for your chosen gift. So if you want to get a gift which is normally 6 referrals, you can get 9 referrals and we will accept 3 of them in lieu of your own offer completion. As most people here probably know, the Federal Trade Commission regulates certain kinds of advertising in the United States, and is charged with enforcing rules against deceptive statements in advertising, as well as some other abusive kinds of advertising. For example, there is an FTC rule against "bait" advertising -- as in "bait and switch" - advertising that a company uses to lure customers into a store or a web site in search of some item that the advertiser doesn't really plan to sell. In "bait" advertising, a company only uses the promise of having a particular item as "bait" to attract people who then will be presented with a pitch for other stuff -- for example, other consumer goods offered at much higher prices. From a "free market," "laissez-faire" standpoint, do you think that it's wrong for the FTC to impose rules on the advertising business in this way? Or is it okay? If you're a pure libertarian believer in free-market forces, for example, should the Federal Government just butt out of the advertising world completely, and allow advertisers to say whatever they want? Or not? moreResolved Question: HOW DO WEB SITES AND SHARE SITES BECOME POPULAR?

I am 13. Over the summer, I want to start an online business. I am currently taking a Business Camp at my school. My ultimate goal is to make six or more figures a year, and become Financially Independent. I know it sounds crazy since I'm only 13, but it is my dream. I have 2 major online business ideas that could work, but I need help choosing the one that would make the most money. 1. My first idea is a website where free users can submit original songs and other users can listen, rate, comment, share, and chat with other users. I would also have an area where users can post info and another area where bands can find new band members. To make money from the site, I would sell ad space, sell an ecourse on songwriting, and maybe creating a pro membership if the site becomes big enough. I have a problem though. Since I have no coding experience, I would have to hire a web design firm to create the site. The problem is that it might cost a lot ($100,000) to create the site. If it does cost that much, should i hire a programmer from elance or something like that? Thats how the website Digg was created. If it still costs a lot, should I have my parents apply for a loan from SBA? Overview of #1: Target Market: Musicians, Bands, Independent Artists, Songwriters. Revenue: Ad space, Pro Membership Costs: Website, Marketing, Website Matinence Type of Business: Online Business, Online Company, Service Business Idea #2. This idea is a basic business idea. I would create a basic website (not a webs.com type of site, but not a huge firm site). I would join a well reputated wholesale company that sells and dropships musical instruments. I would list the products on my site using an eccommerce section, and allow customers to make orders. I would price the products to make profit. When I get an order, I send the order to the wholesale company, and they ship the products within 24 hours. They are most likely always in stock, and will notify me of any problems. Please help me. Even if you don't think any of these are good ideas, if you had to choose one, which one would you choose? Thanks! Also, I just received a call from my grandpa saying he is willing to invest money into either one of my ventures. Hi! Id really appreciate it if anyone would help me to gain more referrals for freebiejeebies! Its an advertising site where once youve completed the three steps they send you a free item, such as an iphone or ipad! the item you choose will require you to get a certain number of referrals depending on the value of it. for example an ipod touch 8gb requires 8 referrals. to sign up please use the following link: http://apple.freebiejeebies.co.uk/299786 ive put some more information about it below from my experience and from the actual website: HOW IT WORKS: 1. For more proof please visit eXceem, which is a forum dedicated to the UK's Freebie Scene - www.exceem.co.uk Proof it works: Why not visit eXceem. eXceem is an independent forum where people discuss all aspects of freebie sites, such as ours. We have our own subforum on eXceem, and we are a 'supported' network, which means the owners of eXceem are confident that we will continue to provide gifts and a good quality of service to our customers. eXceem also has a thread called 'I got my free item' where people post pictures of the items they have received. eXceem members often post to show gifts they have received from us (many eXceem members call us 'FJ') - http://www.exceem.co.uk/forums/i-got-my-free-item/. Sometimes you might find that you are unable to complete one of the offers available through the links on our site (for instance, if you do not have a credit card or if you have already completed the offers that you would like to do). My church would like to have its own web site to advertise its events etc. Obviously it will be none profit making. I know nothing about creating web sites and have been trying to research. Hello. I own a business called Afro Fashions, and I am currently using Google Sites for advertising. But it doesn't quite meet my standards. Do you know any online website creators that are free and lets you have a web address that looks something like this: What I want: www.afrofashions.com What I don't want: www.sites.google.afrofashions.comm If you come up with a acceptable avswer that I like, I will send a personal shout-out to you on my site. moreVoting Question: Why do web-sites mis-represent themselves?
Has anyone else noticed how often that web-sites say "Free to Join", when the truth is the following: The only thing which is "free", about these sites, is to register. How many people have noticed that, even when a web-site has a page, which, clearly states that "Your credit card information will ONLY be used for age verification". "You will NOT be billed for this visit" Yet, when you check credit/debit card statement, you find that you HAVE been billed, from $30.00, to $100.00, by the web-site. Is it not openly deceitful, for web-sites to promote "free access", when access is not "free" at all? Shouldn't web-sites be required to change advertising to say "Visit/Tour is "free", but access will cost (how much). Shouldn't Age Verification be changed into the more truthful: "Your credit/debit card WILL be billed this amount for your visit, today"? Why do/are so many web-sites so openly in-correct, or un-truthful, about access fee's. Why do web-sites offer "free access" when, from the moment that users begin signing up, credit/debit cards ARE, immediately, billed, for this "free access"? When makes this type of mis-representation any different than a local car dealer, who promises that "This car is a gem", yet it breaks down before the new owner arrives home, and has to pay towing charges? Any suggestions? moreResolved Question: How difficult is web-page set-up?
Has anyone else noticed how many web-sites claim to be "free", to access, yet, when one applies, the only thing which is actually "free" is to visit, and set-up, ones profile? What I am wondering is how difficult it would be to set up a dating web-site where there is NO COST, at all, for site users. I am suggesting a site where limited commercial advertising would pay for site operations. When I suggest that this site will be "free" to users, I mean No FEE's, for any part of the site. No fee's for: 1) Access 2) Creating a profile 3) Sending/Receiving e-mail 4) Instant Message and so on, and so forth. Content, of the web-site would be 90% left to users discretion, with the exceptions of threats of violence, and insulting/abusive/obscene acts, or wording. On this web-site, I am suggesting a category where, if users want to post nude photos, that these would be placed into a "restricted" category where, to enter, a user must re-enter access codes, to verify that they WANT to see such images. The site would, ofcourse, have one of those "survey" type pages, so users can rate both themselves, and those they want to date/mate. How difficult would it be, to set up such a web-page, or web-address/web-site? What would be needed, to begin such a venture? Any suggestions? moreResolved Question: How can I sell my bullets?

Or streamdirect tv, or satellite tv for pc software?
I did some searching around trying to find the most legit and best quality internet tv software on the web and everything pointed to one software maker: isoftwaretv.com. I just bought the isoftwaretv.com software which supposedly allows me instant access to over 3000 premium channels including ALL the premium channels you get with cable and also the ones you have to pay your cable company extra for. Well..........uh this is a scam people. Sorry. First off in the buying process they only have you put in your email address. Usually with ANY legitimate online store or service you create an account. That's the first clue. Then you'll notice in your address bar that in the buying process you're jumping around to different sites completely away from the domain name of isoftwaretv.com. So they have no way of tracking your account if they were a real company. But they aren't so this makes sense. Next, after they charge your credit card through Clicbank.com they show you get two things for your purchase: the isoftwaretv tv watching software download link, and a link that says "access sports streams". What?! I thought the player was supposed to give me all the sports channels that cable does! So I check it out first and it is all the commentary and stuff you get directly off NBA.com or any other professional sports website, but NOT the game itself. Note that the web address in your browser has changed yet again to http://members-area-tv.com at this point. I'm starting to realize this is for sure a scam. I noticed that I get a receipt from "CLICKBANK" and not isoftwaretv.com. That's funny I thought I purchased my product from isoftwaretv and not from Clickbank. Next, on my emailed receipt from "Clickbank" I see it says "Vendor's Site: http://www.streamdirect.tv" Wow, so I get a receipt from streamdirect.tv but purchased my product from a company who is supposedly called isoftwaretv. Apparently all these internet tv software companies are really just one company putting on different name and look on each of them. So I'm mad at this point and decide to check out the tv software application. It better be good. I flip through 15 channels and all but two of the channels don't even work. So I see what are these other 2985 channels....well they are in foreign languages, poor image quality, and basicaly I wouldn't watch these channels at anytime for free. No live sports, no Live NBA or any professional sports at all. I see only about 20 available english channels and...like I said only two work. Then I get these ad-ware spy programs popping up on my computer advertising for pornography and such with windows that when you try to close them they won't let you. Maybe I've made it clear that this product is only a scam and not a product at all. Funny that no one has bothered to write about this bad company that is nothing more than a scam. Don't believe any positive review on the web, apparently they worked hard enough on their scam operation to fill up the web with false positive reviews. Thing with scams is that it only takes one or two really negative reviews to expose them. So believe my review and don't trust all those other ones. At the very least, if you decided to try the software, make sure you call up your credit card company and reject the charge that was just placed on it if you don't get what you paid for or were led to believe you would receive. That's it, I'm doing that first thing Monday and making sure these guys never get a dime from me. In reading this, please do your duty and notify scam.com or even the FBI to make it less profitable for these type of people. These guys are tenacious so they can and probably will just do something simple like change the name from the current "isoftware.com" to any other random name after they've been exposed through comments like mine. I think the key take-away message here is that internet tv if not freely available on a place like hulu.com or doesn't come up first choice in a google search then it is just not available. If free tv were available then it would be freely available and easy to find, with no software purchase. TV programs are made by and produced by and paid for by their respective networks. NBC produced the shows and paid the salaries of Conan O'Brian, and Jay Leno, etc. That means their content is all theirs and no one gets it unless NBC makes it available to them. Why would they give it away when they have companies like COMCAST paying them for access to their content? I'm not sure about this but I'm thinking that " satelite TV for PC " might be this same company, but you can refuse the charge on your credit card statement if you do check it out and find it a scam as well. moreResolved Question: Free Advertising on line?? I am starting speed dating events and will pay my friend to host some of the events. I need a job to advertise these events because I have tried free advertising and it does not work. The 3 things stopping me from getting these events started are school, a job and surgery that I need that takes a month to recover from. the day after I finished school my friend who is supposed to host events calls me immediately and asks me if I finished the web site yet. I lost it? I started yelling but then apologized after. When I yelled I started to say give me a chance I still need to get surgery and a job. I know he hates his job and also needs more money so that is why he wants to host these events. But today I learned that my surgery won't be until July 9 2010 and I heard the tone in his voice change to madd. Should I assume He has an attitude by his tone? I feel like he is giving me unreasonable pressure to do this.In other words from my friends tone and the way he calls me as soon as I finish school does this mean he has an attitude? OK so here is the deal: I need help trying to find some sort of job or internship related to commercial photography. More specifically product photography, advertising, marketing, digital photography, web site photography etc. I have 3 years experience. I worked with an event photographer doing retouching and for about 2 1/2 years I did web site photography for a wholesale handbag company. And recently I have been working with another wholesale company that works with apparel, but instead of working right there at their facility, I am doing it as a freelance type of job. I'm majoring in marketing right now, but I'm not sure that I'm being specific enough with the types of courses I'm taking. Essentially, I want to continue doing free lance, but I'm not sure how to start it, or continue for that matter. I'm not too sure where to look or start looking. I would continue doing photography for the wholesalers in my area, but honestly, they don't like to pay past a certain amount, but they want expressive quality since they usually need images for their web sites. If anyone knows any sites where i can search for some jobs, internships, or agents related to this topic please let me know. Also, if there are specific careers that i can narrow my major to, that would be much appreciated as well! This post is not some sort of cheap attempt to get a measly few more views on my site from this community. I genuinely want your ideas on my situation. My situation (A new beginning): I just started an IT business a few months ago on the Gold Coast (IT Support, Web design, Computer repair, Computer sales etc). I went all out and QUIT MY JOB to make this happen. Most of my available funds and time have gone in to equipment, general setup (server, web site, some starter clients). I have a couple of refered clients (from friends and family) but not nearly enough to cover my old wage as an Network Administrator. Dilemma (The news): Soon after Quitting my job to start this business I found out I AM GOING TO BE A DAD! Great news...! I am ecstatic! but fearful at the same time because of my situation. My wife will soon be unable to work and I will need to support the family myself. Doing the sums, I figure that unless my business makes an extra 10k in the next 2 months (to cover some financing etc) I will have to give up on the Business and look for work. That would not be a good option as it is hard to find a good salary in IT on the Gold Coast to cover living expenses for Me, My wife, My Mother in-law (living with us) and a new born due in in a few months. So you see, my business MUST WORK! I have no other option. About 5 - 10 new steady clients would do it, but how?! Done so far: Here are some of the things I have done so far (Please be honest with your criticism on these, I need to know what to change): *Registered a business name "DO IT Solutions" (Direct & Online IT Solutions) *Purchased a 1300 number 1300 DO IT 4U / 1300 36 48 48 (cheesy I know) *Created a dot com dot au website (I hope I am allowed to put this:) doitsolutions.com.au *Created a "DOITSolutions" facebook page with a custom welcome page using FBML facebook.com/doitsolutions *Created a twitter account twitter.com/doitsolutions *Linked the special offers on my web site to an RSS feed which updates Facebook and Twitter *Offered a discount for facebook fans (to help raise the amount of fans that will in tern receive my specials via facebook as listed, there are 47 at the moment I think, just friends of mine) *Added links from the front page of my web site to become a facebook fan or follow on twitter *Listed with online advertising on Truelocal (com au site) for $300 / month, considering cancelling it as only getting about 1 view per day and no calls :( *Listed with many other free online advertising sites and some cheaper paid ones (Clickfind, dlook etc) So far I just haven't managed to penetrate the market enough. Please help me think of ideas: Example idea: 1) Brochure, local handout: I am thinking of creating a brochure. One side with an IT Support special and the other side with a Web design special. Maybe a cheap monthly payment plan for a new website (eg. $70 - 80 / month, maybe including domain registration and web hosting or similar) instead of reducing my upfront amount web site amount. And then delivering it to my local businesses. I would hate being one of those annoying people that drop and to give you a brochure unannounced, but I am that determined to make this work. Please, any ideas will help. Share a story about a a similar experience, or a possible idea for a plan. Any input would be much appreciated! :) Michael A. moreResolved Question: are there any free prize sites that are legit?
