Resolved Question: Why has my Wireless router suddenly stopped working?

I have a D-Link DWL 614+ Wireless router. The router was set up and used for around 2 years now with wired and wireless connections using them daily. I have 2 laptops using the Wi Fi, 2 computers connected to the router through ethernet cable and a Wireless Xbox 360 adapter. All have worked fine up untill now, one day i get up and suddenly every computer now has limited connectivity. At first i thought it was a problem with our ISP, Virgin Media so i contacted them and they told us some people have been having problems in my area an the next day sent out a technician who replaced the Virgin media modem with a new one, however still the same problem. I then tried bypassing the router and connected a single PC directly to the modem and it worked fine, therefore it must be a problem with the router. Disconected the router, and a couple of days later connected it all up again to find that it was once again working and thought our problem was solved. However once again each PC has Limited connectivity, Local access only yet we are now unable to access the router via the the usual 192.168.0.1 adress in the web browser, i have tried resetting the router via the reset button on the back, but no luck. Also when i click repair internet connection by right clicking the icon at the bottom it tells me there may be a problem with the DNS server, but like always we are using the same DNS adress as before. If anyone has any suggestions on what may be wrong feel free to try and help. PS. I have tried manualy setting all of the settings, IP adress, DNS adress etc but still no solution. more

The idea of www.gillyneedsyou.blog.co.uk is to get Gilly as many friends as I can. It's harmless and imature fun. But, the only way they can become his friend is if they get there own blog/site and add him as a friend. Is there a website site I can go to download free web tools to add to the blog i.e people can go on to the gillyneedsyou site and just click an icon to be his friend. etc?I've done a website called www.gillyneedsyou.blog.co.uk and the idea is to get 'gilly' lots of friends. Its sad, imature, silly fun but it makes me and my mates laugh so, meh!. Anyway the question is this. We need to get people to join to become his friend. Hello! I decided to switch from Free AVG to Free Avast! Security yesterday after reading a few topics on YA! Its all working perfectly, but it just seems to be a bit over protective right now on anything I do... For example, I can't even change the name of an icon on my desktop without it shouting at me >.< On the security sensitivity level interface, I've put a few things to high- but I'm not sure if I really need to do so. I don't search anything dodgy on the internet. I come on YA!, check my emails, play my online game and go on online game Fansites (the last is probably the one that I'm most likely to get a virus/spyware etc on.) There are also other websites I go on of course, but (dare I say) I know they're safe (just websites like ebay, wikipedia, youtube, internet banking etc.) So I basically just need some advice on how to set my Avast! This is what it is right now: Instant Messaging: Normal Internet Mail: Normal Network Shield: High Outlook/Exchange: Normal P2P Shields: High Standard Shield: High Web Shield: High To be honest I don't know what half of them do... I just put the ones that I thought sound important on High. Any help is appreciated! And if it means Avast! being overprotective in order to keep my computer safe... I'm fine with that! Resolved Question: What is wrong with my Windows XP I keep getting ?

a tiny box with a red x inside where there is normally a picture or icon. Examples: On Ebay items sold screen the Paypal icons and "sold" "dispatched" icons are not visible. On multimap.com the maps aren't visible and there is a box with a red x where the arrow pointing at my house should be. Even the Microsoft update page is covered in boxes with red crosses instead of the graphics that should be there (I checked at an internet cafe). If I right mouse click on the x to "show picture" nothing happens? Also pages are very slow to load and I keep getting error messages "Internet Explorer is unable to open .......... whatever the web-page is" I click OK to this message and then hit refresh and the web-page loads perfectly the second time? Happens a lot on Ebay and YA especially when I check emails in my Yahoo mailbox. I have Windows XP Home version with Internet Explorer 7.0 and the free AVG version. Yesterday I did a whole computer scan which showed no viruses and my protection is "up to date". Today I've checked the Microsoft help pages and no updates are necessary on my computer at this time. Can anyone shed any light on this please its very frustrating. more

Resolved Question: My website favicon does not show in my browser?

I'm using IE7. My website is about 3 days old and I'm still under 90days free hosting for my domain name so I dont know if that could have something to do with it. I may have to get the premium hosting. I've used the favicon-validator from the favicon-from-pics website and it says everything is fine but I still can't see my favicon. I've added the page to my favorites, reloaded my browser, optimised the favicon.... everything I was told to do I did basically. It's starting to piss me off now because I can see favicons from all the other sites even without bookmarking and I can't see mine. I don't understand. I want to pursue a career in web-design but a simple problem like this makes me think all the courses I did and I'm being shown up by a 16x16 .ico file. Anyway enough rambling. Downloaded bearshare before was a free trial version, then i didnt want it on as it was slowing my laptop down more. I tried to uninstall it in add/remove programs but it wouldnt work.
