This show on MTV is getting a lot of publicity referring to the fact that is shows Italian-American's.. Well at least the young beach-goer's as a bunch of horny, under-educated, smooth talking socialites, who are simply put, rude in any way possible. The biggest controversy being the use of the word "Guido" and "Guidette", of course the second being made up. As a person of Italian heritage, I don't see a problem with this show. I do watch it and find it funny, and also a good way to pass the time. I do not get offended by it's use of crude terms, of find that it is "stereotyping" people of Italian decent. Simply put, if you have ever been to the Jersey Shore, this is what you see. I am not saying that all patrons to the New Jersey shore are this type, but the majority seems to be, hence the countless reference to it with other shows as well. I look at it like this, people who get offended by a show on MTV, have too much free time. If it were the President or another member of Parliaments shouting these "obscenities" then feel free to write a letter. But sending death threats to MTV, saying this show is pushing the line, is only pushing the stereo type that Italians are prone to violence. don't think she was all that good. And, I am disappointed that Legacy did not make it to the final round. At first, I thought Ryan was hubba! hubba!, but after awhile his dancing got on my nerves. My daughter and I decided that Ryan was more qualified to become a Chippendale dancer with all his wiggly moves. However, it is always all about ratings, and last night before the results were known, the judges said how great and different it would be if Ryan and his wife, Ashleigh, got to dance together and also compete. Resolved Question: Muzzles on PROPERLY de-sensitised Greyhounds - what is your opinion?

Sorry this is a bit long - so feel free to skip the details and answer the main question - or read on! I'm in Victoria, Australia, and only found out recently that in all Austalian States aside from VIC and QLD Greyhounds which have been properly re-trained for adoption by groups associated with the racing industry must still by law be muzzled in public. And even in these two states, Greyhounds who came from anywhere but GAP (Greyhound Adoption Program) must also be muzzled. I think we are the only country in the world (except Ireland) which still treats these dogs as vicious animals. My big boy can at least walk in public unmuzzled (and makes heaps of friends), but legally he can't run in off leash parks or down at the beach off his leash. My argument is that many people seeing the breed constantly muzzled are very wary when they meet one, however once they do meet them, they realise they are probably the most gentle dog around, most definately not snappy or vicious, and actually are better behaved than most other pet dogs in public. Mine has his own little fan club at the local school - at pick-up and drop off times I can barely see him through his crowd of admirers, many of these kids have told mum&dad that they want one just like him - this is good publicity - would mum and dad consider it if he was muzzled, would the kids have even been allowed to meet and pat him if he was - I doubt it. What I'd love to do is get a heap of replies to this question (hopefully positive ones) which I intend to print off and send to the various State polititians in the States where the dogs are treated like crimminals. Now I'm fully aware that they are bred to chase small animals, but the GAP trained dogs are quite gentle, and obviously if the dog passes the adoption tests, and is declared safe with other animals then why should they be treated differently other breeds which may have the genes to do other things - am I the only person who has been annoyed by Kelpies down at the park either rounding up the other dogs and riling them up with that mad stare they have, or been annoyed by those horrible snappy little white fluffy things which do their best to show they own the park by attacking bigger dogs, while the owners just laugh (until their darling is turned on by a dog that's had enough - then it's the rough big dog who is in trouble!). I guess I'm just trying to say that most GAP Greyhounds are terrific ambassators for the breed, and that the more people see them unmuzzled, the more they will be treated as good dogs - not vicious killers! Incidentally, I believe that once Victoria ammended the animals act to allow GAP dogs to be un-muzzled in public (they wear a special green collar to prove who they are), Greyhound adoption has tripled. This is due to most families being adverse to owning a dog which has to be muzzled to go for a walk, and the fantastic work done by GAP themselves in promoting the breed as a pet. Given that so many Greyhounds are bred for racing every year, this is a way to ensure less of them are euthanised (or worse) when deemed no good for racing. NO rants on the racing industry here please, not every trainer/owner is a bad one, and in fact, the ones who go to the bother of making sure the more ammenable dogs get into schemes like GAP should be held up as responsible ones, and not condemned wholesale.philosopher77: I agree will everything you say, and you are right - I shouldn't have a go at the others - I was just in such a snappy mood this morning because my Grey had just been attacked for about the 40th time by such a dog - many of which I believe warrant muzzles way more than a Grey. Do not answer this question if all you want to tell me is that I am a liar or be rude. You're allowed to post your opinions, but please don't be rude about it. Plus, I have reasons of why I think she MIGHT and I repeat MIGHT have planned the leak. Stephenie gave away the copies of the Midnight Sun drafts to so many people, as if it were garbage. Then all of a sudden, someone leaks it. Yet the odd thing is, Meyer waits for a week until she starts to complain. Is this some publicity stunt? Now we know that one other thing bad has happened to Stephenie; alot of her fans started to hate her because they were unhappy about the ending of Breaking Dawn. And so later, Midnight Sun is leaked and Meyer is "too sad to write." People are saying that she is punising us and blaming us for the leak of Midnight Sun when she gave it to close friends. But it does not make sense so I was thinking, "Well, what if she is punishing us for causing pain to her for hating Breaking Dawn? What if she is giving us pay back for the pain we caused her? So then, she causes pain to us. Another thing is, Meyer says on her site that she thinks she knows who leaked it. But she does not tell us. Hm. Could she possibly have been the one behind it? Why is she protecting this "person" but blames us for the leak? Hm. Because why would she sit down and just let Midnight Sun float around for an entire week, then have some fit about it? And then later, she says everyone can read it on her site. So...she gets mad because someone leaked the book and some people have read it and some people weren't aware of it. Then she shouts all over the internet, "MIDNIGHT SUN HAS BEEN LEAKED!" And then lets everyone read it so they "don't feel betrayed" or something like that, but now everyone has read it. Now she causes them pain because they cannot finish the book. Its been months now, and people are dying for an ending as time goes by. But if you paid attention to the Midnight Sun story, you'd notice that it is Twilight, except in Edward's point of view. Do you think she is too lazy to write now and is running out of ideas? Because if Midnight Sun was not leaked, does that mean that we have to write the Twlight Saga AGAIN but just in Edwards point of view? One last thing I want to point out is that I think that in the early stages of Twilight when it was first released, she enjoyed the writing and hoped people would like it. Now, it seems like she turned into a money case. (I am not trying to be rude, it is my opinion.) She says that now that everyone has read it, nobody would buy the book if it were published. So...she is a millionare already, but now all she cares about is people buying it so she can make more? Since Midnight Sun is a repeat of Twilight, I don't think it should be published, but maybe she should just post the whole thing on her website for free so that her fans can enjoy it. We've already read the stories, but do we seriously have to empty our pockets just to see this in Edward's point of view? Resolved Question: Can someone show me the federal civil complaint alleging First Amendment violations filed by Fox News?

I'm assuming that if Fox News's First Amendment right to a free press has been violated, Fox would have filed a lawsuit seeking to enjoin the Obama administration from violating Fox's Constitutional rights. After all, a big news organization like Fox has First Amendment lawyers on staff who would jump at the chance to sue Obama if they thought they had any kind of case against them. Suing the administration would be a win-win proposition. Fox's rights would no longer be violated, and it would be horrible publicity for Obama. What Polanski Deserves By Eugene Robinson Tuesday, September 29, 2009 Hasn't Roman Polanski suffered enough? Didn't he endure all those cool, gray, rainy Paris winters? Wasn't he forced -- well, not forced, but strongly enticed -- to subsist all those years on overpriced fare served up by haughty waiters in Michelin-starred restaurants? Didn't he survive for decades having his vacation options limited, essentially, to the grim monotony of the South of France? I've got a better question: Shouldn't Polanski and his many apologists give us a break? I'm a huge fan of Polanski's work. "Chinatown" is one of my favorite movies of all time, "Rosemary's Baby" is a masterpiece, and he richly deserved the Oscar he won as best director for "The Pianist." He's a great artist. Maybe his next film will be a prison movie. Brilliant auteur or no, Polanski has been a fugitive from U.S. justice since 1978. And there was certainly no artistic merit in the crime he acknowledged committing: During a photo shoot at the Los Angeles home of his friend and "Chinatown" star Jack Nicholson, Polanski plied a 13-year-old girl with champagne and drugs and had sex with her. That is grotesque. In general, I agree with the European view that Americans tend to be prudish and hypocritical about sex. But a grown man drugging and raping a 13-year-old girl? That's not remotely a close call. It's wrong in any moral universe -- and deserves harsher punishment than three decades of gilded exile. Polanski went on the lam after pleading guilty to the crime. He had a deal with prosecutors under which he would essentially walk out of the courtroom a free man -- he had spent 42 days in prison undergoing psychiatric evaluation, and the arrangement was that he would be sentenced to time served. But Polanski got wind that the judge in the case, said to be something of a publicity hound, was going to refuse to honor the plea bargain and instead impose a prison term. So the director skipped town and surfaced in France, where authorities ruled that his crime wasn't covered by extradition treaties with the United States. He was arrested Sunday in Zurich, where he had traveled to accept an award -- and where the extradition treaty does cover his crime. Assuming that Polanski puts up a legal fight, it could be months or even years before he is sent back to the United States. The Justice Department was right to have Polanski nabbed at the Zurich airport and should pursue the case to the end. We've waited this long; we can wait a little longer. Polanski has dual French-Polish citizenship, and officials in Paris and Warsaw are outraged. Which makes me outraged. What's their beef? That Polanski is 76? That he makes great movies? That he only fled to escape what might well have been an unjust sentence? Sorry, mes amis, but none of this matters. If you decide to become a fugitive, you accept the risk that someday you might get caught. Much has been made of the fact that Polanski's victim, now 45, has said she no longer feels any anger toward him and does not want to see him jailed. But it's irrelevant what the victim thinks and feels as a grown woman. What's important is what she thought and felt at age 13, when the crime was committed. Those who argue that there's something unjust about Polanski's arrest are essentially accepting his argument that it's possible for a 13-year-old girl, under the influence of alcohol and drugs, to "consent" to sex with a man in his 40s. Or maybe his defenders are saying that drugging and raping a child is simply not such a big deal. As far as I'm concerned, it's a huge deal. Even in France, it should be a big deal. This isn't about a genius who is being hounded for flouting society's hidebound conventions. It's about a rich and powerful man who used his fame and position to assault -- in every sense, to violate -- an innocent child. And it's about a man who ran away rather than face the consequences of his actions. Before any sentence could be imposed, he absconded like a weasel to live a princely life in France. A preacher wanted to raise money for his church and on being told that there was a fortune in horse racing, decided to purchase one and enter it in the races. However at the local auction, the going price for horses was so high that he ended up buying a donkey instead. He figured that since he had it, he might as well go ahead and enter it in the races. To his surprise, the donkey came in third! The next day the local paper carried this headline: "PREACHER'S A$$ SHOWS!" The preacher was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race again, and this time it won. The paper read: "PREACHER'S A$$ OUT IN FRONT" The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the preacher not to enter the donkey in another race. The paper headline read: "BISHOP SCRATCHES PREACHER'S A$$" This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the preacher to get rid of the donkey. The preacher decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent. The paper headline the next day read: "NUN HAS BEST A$$ IN TOWN" The Bishop fainted. He informed the nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey, so she sold it to a farmer for $10.00.
