Also, do you think the whole concept for creating my own business is a good idea? I have come across a few other services like this online although their prices are general 5 to 6 times more expensive than mine for exactly the same work. Thanks for your help

moreResolved Question: ♥poll What do you think about advertising♥?
I know this is long but please just take the time to read it, If you have time to answer tons of other pointless questions you have time to answer mine.
Ya know what irks me? The way the media takes advantage of it's audience! Like ya know when you go to see a movie and your sitting in the theater and for like 20mins before the movie you have to sit through commercials, Like car commercials, soda commercials and condescending advertisements belittling you because you didn't buy your tickets online! Screw these people with a lawn gnome! I'm so sick of being stuck somewhere watching some stupid commercial for some crap I DON'T WANT!
No wait! It doesn't end at the theater! Its in your computer! No matter what you watch you have to sit through some idiotic commercial beforehand! Wanna watch a short? Sorry, You need to sit through a super powerful adhesive ad! wanna watch a new clip, HOLD ON THERE! Theres a new dog crap remover you need to know about! It continues to go on on and on and on and before you know it you won't be able to walk outside your front door without an ad painted on your sidewalk!!! I don't go outside unless I have to so I'm fine with that...I'm just saying! Advertising has become unnecessary evil, to a certain extent! It helps pay for certain things and helps people maintain certain aspects of there business.
However,When I go to a movie theater and i'm already paying $20.00 for a movie ticket why the hell do i have to sit through commercials!?!?!?!?!?
What are they paying for?? The popcorn? Oh no sorry thats like $8.00,wait! Maybe the ads cover my soda,Wait! nooo...$4.50! maybe, just maybe ill get i special trinket from the movie I just saw oh noo! THATS GUNNA BE $35.00!!!!!
So what it looks like to me is pre-rolled advertising in movie theaters doesn't pay for anything!!! I get no discount, No free candy,No cookies not even a dang taco crumb! I get nothing! All I get is bombarded with crap insulted by morons and taken advantage of by paper pushing idiots!
So anyways, What do you think about advertising? Is it to much or not enough? Your input is wanted!
moreResolved Question: What business idea should I choose?
I am 13. Over the summer, I want to start an online business. I am currently taking a Business Camp at my school. My ultimate goal is to make six or more figures a year, and become Financially Independent. I know it sounds crazy since I'm only 13, but it is my dream.
I have 2 major online business ideas that could work, but I need help choosing the one that would make the most money.
1. My first idea is a website where free users can submit original songs and other users can listen, rate, comment, share, and chat with other users. I would also have an area where users can post info and another area where bands can find new band members. To make money from the site, I would sell ad space, sell an ecourse on songwriting, and maybe creating a pro membership if the site becomes big enough. I have a problem though. Since I have no coding experience, I would have to hire a web design firm to create the site. The problem is that it might cost a lot ($100,000) to create the site. If it does cost that much, should i hire a programmer from elance or something like that? Thats how the website Digg was created. If it still costs a lot, should I have my parents apply for a loan from SBA?
Overview of #1:
Target Market: Musicians, Bands, Independent Artists, Songwriters.
Revenue: Ad space, Pro Membership
Costs: Website, Marketing, Website Matinence
Type of Business: Online Business, Online Company, Service Business
Idea #2. This idea is a basic business idea. I would create a basic website (not a webs.com type of site, but not a huge firm site). I would join a well reputated wholesale company that sells and dropships musical instruments. I would list the products on my site using an eccommerce section, and allow customers to make orders. I would price the products to make profit. When I get an order, I send the order to the wholesale company, and they ship the products within 24 hours. They are most likely always in stock, and will notify me of any problems.
Overview of Idea #2:
Target Market: Musicians, Bands, Independent Artists, Dj's, bass players, guitarists, drummers, keyboard players, lighting people, record producers.
Revenue: Profits from Products, Advertising on Website
Costs: Dropshipping, Cost of Products, Website, Website Matinence, Marketing
Type of Business: Online Business, Online Company, E-Tail Business, Retail Business, Ecommerce, Product Business.
Which idea do you like the best? Which idea do you think is most profitable?
If you think #1 is the best and most profitable....
Why do you think that? How should I build the website? Will the website cost a lot? Should a get a loan from SBA? Would people like this site?
If you think #2 is the best and most profitable....
Why do you think that? Do you think it is a good idea?
Please help me. Even if you don't think any of these are good ideas, if you had to choose one, which one would you choose?
Thanks!
Also, I just received a call from my grandpa saying he is willing to invest money into either one of my ventures. Another GREAT THING is that I just realized my cousin is finishing college and was in college for web design. Even if it is a not perfect site, it could be a prototype. Also, he wont charge to build the site. Let me know what you think!

Thanks!

Hello. I own a business called Afro Fashions, and I am currently using Google Sites for advertising. But it doesn't quite meet my standards. Do you know any online website creators that are free and lets you have a web address that looks something like this:
What I want: www.afrofashions.com
What I don't want: www.sites.google.afrofashions.comm
If you come up with a acceptable avswer that I like, I will send a personal shout-out to you on my site.

moreResolved Question: Did I make the right decision to leave the university and start my internet business?
I have created an online store with 4000 ebooks written on the subject of money making, starting your business and investing. With the right advertising, do you think it can become a success? It's an affiliate program.
I left my Phd genetics studies to do this, I always wanted to have my own business and be my own boss. But I feel guilty that I left the university, I think maybe I am stupid.
But I always had a vision to be financially free. I am a stay at home mom right now. Just tell me, could it work?
moreResolved Question: Where should we move to..Cambridge Ont, Kitchener Ont, or Waterloo Ont.?
Hi there everyone,
Have a big question for you fine folks if you’re up to it.
My wife Stacey, my dog Ruston and I, Hank are going to be moving in the next month from Winnipeg to one of these new places. Kitchener, Cambridge or Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
We’ve done some research on these places but would like to hear from actual residents which one they think would suit us better since we don’t know much about the business/personal lifestyles in these area’s.
I guess the best thing to do is tell you about ourselves and tell you what we are looking for.
My wife Stacey has worked in healthcare/secretarial work for over 12 years, has her own online/home business Sunrider http://www.harnessyoursunpower.com She is also big into working out and becoming involved in the fitness field. She recently ran her own “Biggest Loser Challenge” to which the winner received an $1100 jackpot for losing the most weight in 4 months. Her and I currently run an online garage sale type of business where we sell locally to the people of Winnipeg (but will soon change it to where ever we end up) http://www.garagesalewinnipeg.com She is 33 years old and is a very hard worker at anything she sets her mind to.
Ruston is our doggy and is my best friend! He is 12 years old but acts like a puppy. He is a Husky/Lab cross and loves to go on daily walks and car rides. He’s a little human with fur!
Now..me. I’m a professional rock drummer, expert vintage comic book collector and right now, a pizza delivery dude full time. I also run my own Collectibles Research website http://www.youcollectweconnect.com where I help people find the stuff they love to collect. I am going to open an online vintage comic book store in the next while as well and I need to be in an area where I can buy inventory and participate in the comic book/collectibles field. I am 42 years old but my wife says I’m like a little kid and sure don’t look my age.
We are looking more for a city type setting rather than a country place to live meannnning while the out in the country and being away from people may be great for some folks, we are used to being active and up until the wee hours doing things.
We want as close to a large populous as can be, I want to get in a rock band and play around the surrounding area’s, I want to talk to business owners and be around a business district (center) where I can learn more about home business in that city. We want to be in a safer area (where we don’t have to look over our shoulder all the time) and we want to be able to shop after 6pm at night if we need to.
We are not party people but we have a good time when we want to, we are mature, responsible adults who know what they want out of life and are working hard to get it.
Now, which one of these places sound like us….Kitchener Ont.?? Cambridge Ont.?? Or Waterloo Ont.??
We have chosen these places to look because they are very central to London, Toronto, Detroit, New York and many other big places only a short drive away from for our type of home business’s and lifestyles…ie: Shopping for vintage comic books.
I didn’t mean to sound like I was advertising our business’s on here, I was merely putting them on so you could be well informed of who and what we are and what we do. If it breaks a rule we apologise in advance! For once I wasn’t advertising…LoL!
Feel free to ask us any questions and we’ll try to answer in a timely manner between running our business’s, working our jobs, walking our dog and packing..yeah, I know ..everyone’s busy..LoL!
By the way, we’re moving because we rent and they sold our house and we’re really tired of Winnipeg and need a change in all aspects.
Thanx in advance everyone!
moreResolved Question: I need advertising ideas QUICK! Can you help?
I run a educational theatre company and our first camp is coming up in three weeks. The problem is, we don't have anywhere near enough kids signed up for the camp! Right now we only have 4 kids signed up, and we need at least 20 to do the camp. A lot of people do sign up last minute, but at this rate, I think we'll only have 12-13. I'm maxed out on advertising ideas, I need your help desperately!!
Here's what we already do:
We send home flyers with kids through all the schools that will let us (which actually isn't that many, most tell us no)
We are listed online in every place possible: our website, summer camp listings, classifieds, community calendars, so on
We also pay for PPC ads on Google, Facebook, and Bing
I've tried to find businesses to put up flyers, but there's not that many places I've been able to find with a community bulletin board (Whole foods, and a couple book stores is all I found). We're not allowed to advertise at the libraries-they advertise free events only on their boards. :( (If you happen to know of a chain business that has community bulletin boards, let me know)
What can I do as a quick last minute (and inexpensive, we're a very small struggling company) to get more campers? We've tried sending press releases, but it didn't work. The only thing I can think of left to do is go door to door, but it seems like such a waste of time, because probably most of the houses won't have kids living there.
What should I do?? Help me, we're getting desperate! (If it matters, we're in Tucson, AZ)
moreResolved Question: How should I price this business?
I am working on a website that offers advertising services to small businesses but I also want to have sales people go out and sell them too. We have the first month free for online customers but here’s my question. If the first month is free online then how do I prevent potential customers from realizing that they could get my service for the first month free. I’m sure other businesses have had this dilemma. What is your advice or if you’ve experienced something like this, how was it handled?
Thanks
moreResolved Question: Help! Do you have any creative and inexpensive advertising ideas?
I help run youth theatre camps with a local theatre company, and we're having a real tough time getting kids to sign up this year. Currently, we have all sorts of online advertising (ads we pay for and free listings), we pass out flyers at all the schools that will let us, we have flyers in a few local businesses, and we're even paying people to work for us as recruiters. And we're still getting no one--I don't know what's going on, we've never had a tough time in past years.
Anyway, I need more advertising ideas-ones that won't cost a fortune (meaning commercials won't happen). Do you have any clever little ways to advertise for little or no cost?
I was trying to think of some clever ideas, and I thought maybe we could make bookmarks (advertising our camp) and slip them into library books geared towards kids aged for our camps. Would I get into trouble for this? This probably sounds stupid, but we're getting desperate, I've run out of good ideas! Help me!
(PS. I should also mention that the libraries won't let us advertise by putting out flyers because we're not a not-for-profit company. So, I was trying to think of a way around this)Yes, we do have a website. We also have PPC advertising through google, microsoft, and facebook. (The facebook one is getting really expensive!)
Thomas, I don't understand that website.... If it's called "Add Your Site Free" why do I have to pay? I don't know if that would help much, I guess I should have mentioned that we really just need local advertising.

moreResolved Question: I am going to be a DAD! I need to make $10,000 in 2 months from my new business. Help me with ideas! (Please)?
This post is not some sort of cheap attempt to get a measly few more views on my site from this community. I genuinely want your ideas on my situation.
My situation (A new beginning):
I just started an IT business a few months ago on the Gold Coast (IT Support, Web design, Computer repair, Computer sales etc). I went all out and QUIT MY JOB to make this happen. Most of my available funds and time have gone in to equipment, general setup (server, web site, some starter clients). I have a couple of refered clients (from friends and family) but not nearly enough to cover my old wage as an Network Administrator.
Dilemma (The news):
Soon after Quitting my job to start this business I found out I AM GOING TO BE A DAD! Great news...! I am ecstatic! but fearful at the same time because of my situation. My wife will soon be unable to work and I will need to support the family myself. Doing the sums, I figure that unless my business makes an extra 10k in the next 2 months (to cover some financing etc) I will have to give up on the Business and look for work. That would not be a good option as it is hard to find a good salary in IT on the Gold Coast to cover living expenses for Me, My wife, My Mother in-law (living with us) and a new born due in in a few months.
So you see, my business MUST WORK! I have no other option. About 5 - 10 new steady clients would do it, but how?!
Done so far:
Here are some of the things I have done so far (Please be honest with your criticism on these, I need to know what to change):
*Registered a business name "DO IT Solutions" (Direct & Online IT Solutions)
*Purchased a 1300 number 1300 DO IT 4U / 1300 36 48 48 (cheesy I know)
*Created a dot com dot au website (I hope I am allowed to put this:) doitsolutions.com.au
*Created a "DOITSolutions" facebook page with a custom welcome page using FBML facebook.com/doitsolutions
*Created a twitter account twitter.com/doitsolutions
*Linked the special offers on my web site to an RSS feed which updates Facebook and Twitter
*Offered a discount for facebook fans (to help raise the amount of fans that will in tern receive my specials via facebook as listed, there are 47 at the moment I think, just friends of mine)
*Added links from the front page of my web site to become a facebook fan or follow on twitter
*Listed with online advertising on Truelocal (com au site) for $300 / month, considering cancelling it as only getting about 1 view per day and no calls :(
*Listed with many other free online advertising sites and some cheaper paid ones (Clickfind, dlook etc)
So far I just haven't managed to penetrate the market enough.
Please help me think of ideas:
Example idea:
1) Brochure, local handout:
I am thinking of creating a brochure. One side with an IT Support special and the other side with a Web design special. Maybe a cheap monthly payment plan for a new website (eg. $70 - 80 / month, maybe including domain registration and web hosting or similar) instead of reducing my upfront amount web site amount. And then delivering it to my local businesses. I would hate being one of those annoying people that drop and to give you a brochure unannounced, but I am that determined to make this work.
Please, any ideas will help. Share a story about a a similar experience, or a possible idea for a plan. Any input would be much appreciated! :)

moreResolved Question: ANOTHER COLLEGE PAPER??? Why yes indeed it is! Would you please mind helping me?
I'm writing a business proposal for a place I'm interning at, and that is to be reviewed by a professor. It's basically regarding a free online database for alternative and/or medicine. In order for it to be free, we need to make money off of advertisers. Who would be good businesses to talk to about paying to advertise on our website?
There is a few criteria:
1. They should be small local businesses that generally cater to sustainable living, such as fair trade products, hand-made crafts, family-owned restaurants, and food co-ops.
2. If they are big business ideas, then they should hopefully be somewhat in sync with the basic philosophy of economic equity and sustainability. We want more than anything to help promote small businesses, especially during these economic times, but it wouldn't hurt to have a few large ones on there too.
We also would like any advertisers to be unconnected with pharmaceutical companies, if possible.
Just respond to this question with ideas, or shoot me an email if you have further questions or wish to share information that you don't want posted on here.Sorry, I meant it's a "free online database for alternative and/or HOLISTIC medicine."

moreResolved Question: B&F Top Contributors: Is this solicitation?
Someone in business and finance asked "how do I make money online". I gave him an answer on how I do it, and I was reported. I tried to appeal it and they rejected my appeal (twice) and took 20 points from my account. I feel that it was top contributors who reported me because everytime I post anything in Business and Finance, it gets reported. I think that some of the Top Contributors automatically assume that it's impossible to make money online. They think everything is a scam. I think people should be more careful when reporting answers in this section.
You tell me, was this answer solicitation, and HOW?
my answer:
"Start an online community, a mini myspace in other words or forum. I have a few dating sites and I use adwords to get members. The site is free and I only have about 800 members so far on my main site, but once I have more (about 5,000 or more), I will place ads on there and make money from the ads just like myspace does. There's free software out there for social sites so after you install it, you just work on getting members to sign up. I use Google adwords to advertise mainly. My main site is an asian site so its cheaper for me to advertise since I only only show ads to people out of Asian countries. This is cheaper for advertising, but it also means I'll make less once I place ads on there, because clicks from people in Asia don't pay as well since they don't buy as much online as Americans, Canadians etc. As far as selling domains, that's not easy. I used to do it but it's just getting harder now with the economy the way it is. But most of the people I sold domains to were other domain investors. Advertising is recession proof though. There is always people who are looking to advertise their businesses, even when the economy is bad. Another thing you can do is buy misspelled domains or domains you think you can park. I park domains and some have been pretty successful. There's this one celebrity that just became real famous (realized I can't say his name for certain reasons), and right around the time this was happening, I bought about 4 domain names that are misspellings of his name. Now people searching for his name on the internet who misspell it, end up at my parked page, where I have ads that some of them click on."notice how I said "There's free software out there". They got me so nervous just to mention any company other than Google in this section. I took extra precaution and was still reported.
Why?
