Resolved Question: ♥poll What do you think about advertising♥?
I know this is long but please just take the time to read it, If you have time to answer tons of other pointless questions you have time to answer mine.
Ya know what irks me? The way the media takes advantage of it's audience! Like ya know when you go to see a movie and your sitting in the theater and for like 20mins before the movie you have to sit through commercials, Like car commercials, soda commercials and condescending advertisements belittling you because you didn't buy your tickets online! Screw these people with a lawn gnome! I'm so sick of being stuck somewhere watching some stupid commercial for some crap I DON'T WANT!
No wait! It doesn't end at the theater! Its in your computer! No matter what you watch you have to sit through some idiotic commercial beforehand! Wanna watch a short? Sorry, You need to sit through a super powerful adhesive ad! wanna watch a new clip, HOLD ON THERE! Theres a new dog crap remover you need to know about! It continues to go on on and on and on and before you know it you won't be able to walk outside your front door without an ad painted on your sidewalk!!! I don't go outside unless I have to so I'm fine with that...I'm just saying! Advertising has become unnecessary evil, to a certain extent! It helps pay for certain things and helps people maintain certain aspects of there business.
However,When I go to a movie theater and i'm already paying $20.00 for a movie ticket why the hell do i have to sit through commercials!?!?!?!?!?
What are they paying for?? The popcorn? Oh no sorry thats like $8.00,wait! Maybe the ads cover my soda,Wait! nooo...$4.50! maybe, just maybe ill get i special trinket from the movie I just saw oh noo! THATS GUNNA BE $35.00!!!!!
So what it looks like to me is pre-rolled advertising in movie theaters doesn't pay for anything!!! I get no discount, No free candy,No cookies not even a dang taco crumb! I get nothing! All I get is bombarded with crap insulted by morons and taken advantage of by paper pushing idiots!
So anyways, What do you think about advertising? Is it to much or not enough? Your input is wanted!
moreResolved Question: What's the truth about subliminal videos?
I'm aware of positive experiences resulting from making changes to how one feels at a subconscious level. It looked like subliminal videos could be great for people - just sit back and watch and enjoy the benefits.
I thought I'd investigate what's offered. I'm pretty disgusted at the results, which include:
* Very dodgy claims, e.g. they can make anyone wealthy
* The most obvious cheap sales tricks, like buy now to save x% - today only!
* Misleading offers, like claim your absolutely free video (only if you buy a bunch of other stuff)
* Try the free sample - none of which work (unrecognised file formats)
* Watch this online short video (that doesn't work)
* Harvesting email addresses to hit you with loads of their adverts
* Excessive sales talk like dodgy car salesmen trying too hard
* Countless efforts to grab your money
My experience is that honest suppliers of honest products don't use all these tricks - they simply advertise, provide the means to order and pay, and supply.
I looked for a long while and found nothing that seemed trustworthy.
Anyone out there had experience with these videos?
Are there any genuine, trustworthy providers of these videos or what?God is a man-made delusion to comfort and control in equal measure, and has nothing to do with the question!
moreResolved Question: how do i sign up for car wrapping? to get money or a free car?
I heard you can sign up with companies and they will give you a free car or they will wrap your car and you'll get paid for it. I live in nyc does anybody know companies that will pay me to advertise on my car? Or who to call? thanks
moreVoting Question: Drive a Car for Free Websites?
Hey all, has anyone ever tried using one of those Drive a Car for Free services, where companies can advertise on your car, or give you a free car to drive with stipulations, but will also be paid for driving normally. I know that they are out there, but I need a legitimate source... Thanks!
moreResolved Question: can you really get a free car or get paid to have your car wrapped with advertising?
moreResolved Question: Is this a good enough deal, or should I be more aggressive? (Used cars)?
A local Toyota dealership was offering $5000 for any used car as a trade in. My trade in is a 1997 Ford Taurus I would consider to be in poor condition. (Accident free, but heating and air conditioning have both failed. Around 140,000 miles.) The vehicle I am after is a 2009 Toyota Prius with no accidents on record, but 38,000 miles. Kelly bluebook values this at $18,470. The salesman has asked for $19,000 on the vehicle, and despite their add will only offer $4,000 on the trade. I doubt my current car is worth $1,000, so even with this trade, I would be getting a vehicle valued at $18,470 for only $16,000 It seems good on paper, but I am wondering if I should really push for them to live up to their advertising claim. As the trade in deal ends tomorrow, I need to decide soon.
moreResolved Question: Where should we move to..Cambridge Ont, Kitchener Ont, or Waterloo Ont.?
Hi there everyone,
Have a big question for you fine folks if you’re up to it.
My wife Stacey, my dog Ruston and I, Hank are going to be moving in the next month from Winnipeg to one of these new places. Kitchener, Cambridge or Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
We’ve done some research on these places but would like to hear from actual residents which one they think would suit us better since we don’t know much about the business/personal lifestyles in these area’s.
I guess the best thing to do is tell you about ourselves and tell you what we are looking for.
My wife Stacey has worked in healthcare/secretarial work for over 12 years, has her own online/home business Sunrider http://www.harnessyoursunpower.com She is also big into working out and becoming involved in the fitness field. She recently ran her own “Biggest Loser Challenge” to which the winner received an $1100 jackpot for losing the most weight in 4 months. Her and I currently run an online garage sale type of business where we sell locally to the people of Winnipeg (but will soon change it to where ever we end up) http://www.garagesalewinnipeg.com She is 33 years old and is a very hard worker at anything she sets her mind to.
Ruston is our doggy and is my best friend! He is 12 years old but acts like a puppy. He is a Husky/Lab cross and loves to go on daily walks and car rides. He’s a little human with fur!
Now..me. I’m a professional rock drummer, expert vintage comic book collector and right now, a pizza delivery dude full time. I also run my own Collectibles Research website http://www.youcollectweconnect.com where I help people find the stuff they love to collect. I am going to open an online vintage comic book store in the next while as well and I need to be in an area where I can buy inventory and participate in the comic book/collectibles field. I am 42 years old but my wife says I’m like a little kid and sure don’t look my age.
We are looking more for a city type setting rather than a country place to live meannnning while the out in the country and being away from people may be great for some folks, we are used to being active and up until the wee hours doing things.
We want as close to a large populous as can be, I want to get in a rock band and play around the surrounding area’s, I want to talk to business owners and be around a business district (center) where I can learn more about home business in that city. We want to be in a safer area (where we don’t have to look over our shoulder all the time) and we want to be able to shop after 6pm at night if we need to.
We are not party people but we have a good time when we want to, we are mature, responsible adults who know what they want out of life and are working hard to get it.
Now, which one of these places sound like us….Kitchener Ont.?? Cambridge Ont.?? Or Waterloo Ont.??
We have chosen these places to look because they are very central to London, Toronto, Detroit, New York and many other big places only a short drive away from for our type of home business’s and lifestyles…ie: Shopping for vintage comic books.
I didn’t mean to sound like I was advertising our business’s on here, I was merely putting them on so you could be well informed of who and what we are and what we do. If it breaks a rule we apologise in advance! For once I wasn’t advertising…LoL!
Feel free to ask us any questions and we’ll try to answer in a timely manner between running our business’s, working our jobs, walking our dog and packing..yeah, I know ..everyone’s busy..LoL!
By the way, we’re moving because we rent and they sold our house and we’re really tired of Winnipeg and need a change in all aspects.
Thanx in advance everyone!
moreVoting Question: Is my speech good enough?
The Media and our Body
Images of female bodies that have the 'perfect' figure are all over the world. Women-and their body parts- sell all from foods to cars. Young women are being brainwashed into thinking that the ideal shape means to be skinny, tall, furthermore, being flawless, also known as perfect. ** thesis goes here**
It's not just development that affects self-esteem. Many other factors (like media images of skinny girls) can affect a person's body image too. Seeing these images over and over may lead women to think that their own bodies are not acceptable, leading them to develop unhealthy body images. And unfortunately, such negative feelings can sap self-esteem and set the stage for eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia. Many women will strive for that 'perfect' frame no matter what they have to do.
All the negative influence that the media is portraying as the 'perfect' body are causing more problems then solving them. People are beginning to go to great length just to stay thin, and flawless. An American research group of eating disorder, says, that one out of every four college-aged women uses unhealthy methods of weight control—including fasting, skipping meals, extreme exercise, abuse, and self-induced vomiting. Young girls, too, are being affected to stay thin. But we can stop this!
One of the ways we can protect our self-esteem and body image from the media's definitions of beauty and acceptability is to become a critical viewer of the media that we are bombarded with each day. The media's news about body shape and size will affect the way we feel about our bodies and ourselves only if we let them. So, be aware of the 'flawless' images, the stereotypes based more on looks than on talents. The put-downs of people who don't fit the narrow definition of ideal. When we effectively recognize and analyze the media's messages that influence us, remember that the media's definitions of beauty and success does not define our self-image or potential.
Overall, though its sad to say, media has completely took over our lifestyle. Although, it can be changed, it all depends how we feel about ourself. No one should want to change who they are because the media makes women feel like we have to 'look a certain way' or 'be a certain way'. The media is just words and pictures designed to advertise products and endorse. The harmful messages they send shouldn't be listened too!

moreResolved Question: Local church wants to take my younger brother to their youth group?
A few days ago my little brother grabbed a flyer that was on our doorknob that was advertising a free carnival for kids set up by a Christian Church a few blocks away. He is 8 and I am 16, and I babysit him often, as well as a cousin who is 6. A few days later while driving with both of them in my car they saw the lights and stands in the church parking lot. They begged me to take them down the street to this carnival and my mom said to take them, because they were making a fuss.
When we got there it looked pretty lame. They had very few games and free cotton candy and popcorn, but they enjoyed themselves, even though we were there for less than an hour. Well when I walked in there they asked me to write my name, address, and kids name on a paper so they could mail an evaluation to my home on this carnival. Well today two ladies came to the door and said that they were going to be picking up my cousin and brother for their bible study on Sunday around 11 am and to have them ready! I told them that I don't think my mom will allow that and that we are not non-denominational Christians, we just went to the event because it was free. They then said that they wanted 20 dollars, 10 for each child who attended the event, and that it was only free to families who wanted to enroll their kids in the youth program! I then mentioned that I would have never wrote their names on the paper, I was told it was for a post evaluation.
Well needless to say I told the lady not to come by on Sunday, because they won't be going and I was not paying anything and closed the door. Can I make a complaint against this church or these ladies? They really came to my door thinking they owned my brother!!!
moreResolved Question: Is Columbia South Carolina Ready for an African-American Mayor?
Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Seven of the eight candidates running for mayor gave their vision for the city Tuesday night.
Voters filled a banquet hall in North Columbia to hear from those seeking election for mayor. As each person entered, they had a chance to write down a question of their own for the candidates.
Each mayoral hopeful was given two minutes each to answer a series of those questions. Topics covered included the bus system, law enforcement, and how much power a mayor should have in office.
To finish up, each candidate shared their number one priority if elected. Below you can read some of what they had to say.
"I want to make sure that each one of your children and grandchildren have the same opportunities I had as a child. Our focus on our campaign is clear, we want to focus on, our priorities will be making sure we have a safe city," said Steve Benjamin.
"You want safe, secure streets and homes and you want to know that your money is being spent responsibly by your city government. If you don't have those two things you don't have confidence and you don't have trust," said Steve Morrison.
"Trim the budget, you know, get rid of any unnecessary items. Clean is the crime free neighborhoods, and of course that comes from funding the police department," said Sparkle Clark.
"When I'm mayor of the City of Columbia, everybody will be heard, not everybody will be agreed with, and at no point will an individual "want" overwhelm a collective good," said Kirkman Finlay.
"The first thing we have to do is fix the budget, period. We have no idea how much money we have, we have no idea where it's going," said Gary Myers.
"My priorities are number one take care of the budget and our finances. Number two take care of our city employees. You gotta have city employees who care and want to stay here to take care of you," said Joseph Azar.
"If we can have true civic involvement, and we can make people feel like their government does care about them, and does want to listen to them, I feel like that's the solution. Because right now there's not any money," said Aaron Johnson.
Columbia's elections take place April 6th.

moreResolved Question: How many "Car Dealer Scams to Avoid" can you name?
I just read this article on the net, and I have one of my own, to add. The "Free Extras" scam.
How many people have been lured to car lots, in recent years, thanks to a post card, or e-mail, which says "Come to our special event, on (date), and (time). Even if you do not choose to buy a car, you may be eligible to receive a Walkman, CD player, cell-phone, calculator, and so on" have found themselves facing very agressive sales-personnel, who get very annoyed if a visitor asks about the advertised offer, without buying an auto?
Did anyone else know about the scam where a dealership will "hold" your keys, as "collateral", until you decide which car you will buy?
I know that the rule of ANY purchase should be "Buyer Beware", but how many people go into the purchase experience, expecting to deal with cons, and scams?
What ever happened to integrity, and dignity?
moreResolved Question: WHAT KIND OF SICK PERSON COULD DO THIS?
ok so this is how the story starts.........
last sunday i notice a add on a classified adds website which was advertising a free car 2008 renault megane only 6000 miles the lot! (sounds to good to be true at this point)
anyway i sent an email with my phone number then about 40 minutes later got a phone call from a lady who explained that the car is her 84 year old mothers who had throat cancer and had 3 months left to live and was on medication and could no longer drive because of the medication etc, i was talking to the lady for almost an hour she told me lots of things about her family even about her grandaughter who had chicken pox, i am convinced she was genuine she seemed a lovely person.
i told her about me and my 3 kids and that i needed a car because i didnt have one and the reason for that was because my husband left in october and took the car and i couldnt offord to buy one, she took pitty on me and told me that the car was mine not only that but she would pay for my inurance and road tax for 5 years untill i get back on my feet (i couldnt thank her enough) she even said they will fill the tank with petrol before they brought it to my house! i was shocked and said "i cannot belive you are just giving me a car"! she said well my mum doesnt need it and she would rather give it to someone who needs it rather than sell it because she is pretty well off and worth almost 9 million £'s (the area they are from is full of very rich people) so i didnt doubt it
i was crying at this point! i told her that it was my little boys birthday the following week and i said how much it will mean to him for us to be able to go out on his birthday (something we couldnt do without a car) he wanted to go to the sealife centre about 50 miles from where i live, she even said "just think next week you will have the car to take the kids to school instead of having to walk"
we agreed that she would drop the car off on saturday (today) and she asked me to email her my address which i did! she replied and said she is very happy to be able to give me the car, the last i heard was a email on monday that said i will call you on saturday morning to arrange delivery of your car, happy driving! they even deleted the add and replaced it with annother add that thanked everyone for their interest but the car had been rehomed!
during the conversation she gave me her mobile phone number which i kept and stored in my phone, i emailed on friday to find out if they had any idea of what time they had in mind for delivering the car (as i had to arrange my day around them comming) when i got no reply from the email i tried to call the mobile number but it said the number was wrong, i tried calling 3-4 times but it just wasnt connecting
saturday morning has come and gone and no phone call, its now 12.41pm and i still havent heard from them and i think that my suspicions of this being some sick practical joke are confirmed, i think it was so cruel what they did, leaving me and my kids to look forward to getting a car for a full week
so unfair! now i have to explain to them that there is no car and i have to tell my little boy who is only 4 that he cant go to the sealife centre now! hes going to be gutted!
i was sooo sure she was genuine and i still am sure she was but i think maybe they changed their mind
so not fairLIZZIE- why would you say that?

last sunday i notice a add on a classified adds website which was advertising a free car 2008 renault megane only 6000 miles the lot! (sounds to good to be true at this point)
anyway i sent an email with my phone number then about 40 minutes later got a phone call from a lady who explained that the car is her 84 year old mothers who had throat cancer and had 3 months left to live and was on medication and could no longer drive because of the medication etc, i was talking to the lady for almost an hour she told me lots of things about her family even about her grandaughter who had chicken pox, i am convinced she was genuine she seemed a lovely person.
i told her about me and my 3 kids and that i needed a car because i didnt have one and the reason for that was because my husband left in october and took the car and i couldnt offord to buy one, she took pitty on me and told me that the car was mine not only that but she would pay for my inurance and road tax for 5 years untill i get back on my feet (i couldnt thank her enough) she even said they will fill the tank with petrol before they brought it to my house! i was shocked and said "i cannot belive you are just giving me a car"! she said well my mum doesnt need it and she would rather give it to someone who needs it rather than sell it because she is pretty well off and worth almost 9 million £'s (the area they are from is full of very rich people) so i didnt doubt it
i was crying at this point! i told her that it was my little boys birthday the following week and i said how much it will mean to him for us to be able to go out on his birthday (something we couldnt do without a car) he wanted to go to the sealife centre about 50 miles from where i live, she even said "just think next week you will have the car to take the kids to school instead of having to walk"
we agreed that she would drop the car off on saturday (today) and she asked me to email her my address which i did! she replied and said she is very happy to be able to give me the car, the last i heard was a email on monday that said i will call you on saturday morning to arrange delivery of your car, happy driving! they even deleted the add and replaced it with annother add that thanked everyone for their interest but the car had been rehomed!
during the conversation she gave me her mobile phone number which i kept and stored in my phone, i emailed on friday to find out if they had any idea of what time they had in mind for delivering the car (as i had to arrange my day around them comming) when i got no reply from the email i tried to call the mobile number but it said the number was wrong, i tried calling 3-4 times but it just wasnt connecting
saturday morning has come and gone and no phone call, its now 12.41pm and i still havent heard from them and i think that my suspicions of this being some sick practical joke are confirmed, i think it was so cruel what they did, leaving me and my kids to look forward to getting a car for a full week
so unfair! now i have to explain to them that there is no car and i have to tell my little boy who is only 4 that he cant go to the sealife centre now! hes going to be gutted!
i was sooo sure she was genuine and i still am sure she was but i think maybe they changed their mind
so not fairthe doyan - i didnt give them my kids names im not THAT stupidnor did they get my 2nd name or bank details, surely if it was identity theft she would of took my full name date of birth, driving licence number (for the purpose of insuring the car) but she didnt

moreResolved Question: What is your opinion about Costa Mesa won't enforce anti-solicitation law?
COSTA MESA - The city of Costa Mesa has placed a moratorium on its anti-solicitation ordinance that civil rights groups say targets day laborers seeking employment on public streets.
A month ago, the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California, along with the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund and the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, filed a lawsuit on behalf of day laborers challenging the ordinance. The lawsuit alleged that the 2005 ordinance violates the day laborers First Amendment rights and bans "active solicitation" by, of or from people in moving cars and in commercial parking areas that have signs prohibiting such actions.
"They know they are going to lose," said Naui Huitzilopochtli, a member of Colectivo Tonantzin, a day laborer advocacy group. "The day laborers are happy that they settled for the moment."
The city of Costa Mesa has agreed to halt enforcing the ordinance pending a decision by the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeal on a challenge to a similar anti-solicitation ordinance in the city of Redondo Beach, according to an ACLU release.
Costa Mesa officials did not immediately respond to calls seeking comment. Click here for more immigration-related news.
The solicitation ordinance is designed to address conduct that creates a public safety hazard and obstructs the entrances and exits to public streets and parking lots, according to the city.
The city has for years tried to tackle issues related to day laborers. In 2005, the city shuttered a job center, which citizens argued attracted illegal immigrants and wasted taxpayers' money. The center – formerly on Placentia Avenue – opened in 1988 in response to complaints about loitering, traffic problems and unsafe conditions when laborers searched for work on streets and at parks.
In September, police went to five hot spots throughout the city and arrested 12 day laborers for illegally soliciting work in three locations. The day laborers were later deported.
Police Chief Christopher Shawkey said in a recent interview that police received 114 complaints from residents and business owners about day laborers intimidating customers and swarming vehicles prior to the September arrests.
The day laborers were free to be in the locations if there were no violations of the ordinance, Shawkey added. He said the city has reached out to nonprofit and church groups to let them know about the guidelines of the ordinance.
According to the ACLU, the ordinance also stops a wide range of other groups, including small businesses that use handheld advertising on public streets, homeless people who seek donations, people in fund-raising activities and students who try to get the attention of passing motorists for car washes.
Besides asking city officials to halt the ordinance, the lawsuit asks that the city pay damages to Colectivo Tonanztin in an amount to be determined at trial. The suit also asks for reasonable attorneys' fees, costs, and expenses of the litigation.

moreResolved Question: Is Premiere Productions Inc. a bait and switch scam operation?
I had an interview with Premiere Productions Inc. for an Event and Wedding Planner position that they had advertised on Craigslist. I was interviewed by one person and she told me that I was perfect fit for the position and company which was odd to me because she hardly asked me any questions about my background and qualifications. The day after the interview I received an email and call from a man named Joshua Komer who told me that the position would require me to pay Premiere Productions Inc. $3500 to $11,000 for their training which they did not mention in their job listing or during the in person interview. Since when do you have to pay a company thousands and thousands of dollars for 12 weeks of training as a prerequisite for a job? I told him that I was looking for a legitimate job and career opportunity.
I expressed my reservations and concerns about the costs associated with their training program. Joshua told me that they could assist me in taking out a loan and line of credit in my name to finance the training. He also made it a point to assure me that I wouldn't have a problem paying the loans off quickly because I would be making lots of money through various internships during the training program. If that's the case then why do I need to pay them so much money in advance and why can't they take it out of the earnings I'm going to make while I'm being trained.
This fellow Joshua sounded like a used car salesman. I consulted a friend of mine who happens to be an attorney and he told me that this sounds very hokey and thinks that they're trying to convince me to take out a loan so that they get all the money up front and will be in the free and clear once I realize that Premiere Productions Inc. is a fraudulent scheme at which time the only recourse I will have is to deal with both Premiere Productions Inc. and the bank to seek financial restitution.
Then Joshua proceeded to tell me that he is currently an Event Producer at Premiere Productions Inc. and was in my shoes just a few shorts months ago, but took a leap of faith and paid for their training program. If Joshua is really an Event Producer, then why is he spending all this time trying to sell honest job seekers on the hopes and false promises of their paid training program when he
should be planning events and weddings as he was allegedly trained to do. I asked to speak to his supervisor and I was told that I would be contacted by a lady named Maria Cook. When Maria contacted me over the phone, I pressed her for more details regarding the training and job. I could not get a straight answer out of her regarding how I was going to get paid while enrolled in the training program. Although that didn't prevent her from trying to coax me into trying to sign a contract to pay them $11,000.
When I told Joshua and Maria that I would not be signing up for their training program they got very hostile and angry. In addition I kept receiving hostile and harassing emails from them for several days.
Is it me or is their job posting for Event and Wedding Planners a good ole bait and switch tactic to get people to pay money to get training for placement into a non-existent job? Am I being scammed, ripped off, and bamboozled by this tag team of Joshua Komer and Maria Cook? There website is www.premiere-productionsinc.com
moreResolved Question: Car rear window decal for advertising my jewelry business? Ideas, please...?
I am a jewelry artist, with several target clients. Please feel free to take a look at my shop, at http://WinterMoonJewelry.etsy.com to get an idea of what I make and sell.
We've all seen those rear window decals...the rather large ones, with logos and text, etc. Some are funny, some are for racers (or wannabes), and some are advertisements. I am, of course, looking for the latter.
What do you think would work for advertising? Just my moon and snowflake logo, or some sort of jewelry picture?
Remember, these are one color (usually white), so I can't just take a picture of one of my pieces and use it.
Thank you so much for your suggestions!!sevenbucksdown, cute! ;D
And yes, I am most definitely asking a question and looking for ideas, NOT trying to do sneaky advertisement. I'm a real person, not a bot. :)
I only link my shop so if someone was so inclined, they could get a feel for what I actually sell before answering.
Just saying "jewelry," I could sell just about anything from platinum & diamonds to crappy plastic kids' stuff. :)
moreResolved Question: Finding more details about someone given mobile number?
I live in Australia and I am looking for a car. I found a perfect car advertised on a website and all it gave for contacting the seller was a mobile number, which I have called numerous times over the last month and also tried texting to. However I am assuming there is something wrong with the phone as the car is still advertised so I'm guessing nobody can reach the seller. Is there some sort of free way of finding any details about this person, like a name or address? I'm not a stalker, I really want that car, I've been looking for one for months and had no luck but this one is perfect.
moreVoting Question: I'm thinking of running an underground business-could I get away with this?
I'm a student and live in a large college town. I just inherited a cabin out in the country from my aunt. The cabin is about two miles from the nearest home and at night is not noticeable from the main road unless your looking for it.
What I’m considering is opening a bar for the 18 to 20 year old college students, advertised by word of mouth direct invites. It would be run one night a week in said home.
Again, due to the fact that it is far away from the nearest neighbors, barely visible from the main road at night, plus the fact that in the middle of the night, passing cars are few and far between, someone reporting the noise/party isn’t going to happen. A cop could drive by and not notice anything.
I have no conscience objections, because I have a few BAC calculators and attendants would be handing over their keys at entry, getting them back when and only when their safe to drive.
After looking at overhead (Cost of expenses for alcohol, dishes, heat/AC, and electricity) my projection is I can easily make 500 dollars tax free cash profit PER NIGHT. And that’s a conservative estimate.
Sparing me lectures, could I get away with this?
Again, think of this as an exclusive club. Atendents are able to come via direct word of mouth invitation from me ONLY, so no he said, she said, mama said about it. If I didn't invite you, you get to meet the exit door. Ergo, if some wrong person does hear about this occuring, they won't know the when, where and who.
And, last but not least, if I'm caught, I can make a deal with the DA. Lets say I have a hundred plus people drinking underage weekly. I have the power to give up each and every one of them in exchange for dropped charges, and the DA will take my offer. Huge crackdown on underage drinking plus DA's name in the paper can only help him, especially in an election year.
So, your thoughts?

moreVoting Question: Considering opening a gym.?
I live in Warren, MI. Lots of fat people here, so not sure if anyone will join, but I would think that if there were more smaller neighborhood gyms that there may be a market. There used to be a World's Gym near my house that did very well, until a car dealer bought it and tore it down to build yet another parking lot for cars that don't sell. The old gym was torn down about two years ago.
I am looking at a corner building across from a 7-11 on a main road near bus stops, flower shops, etc.
The building is listed for 175k but the Flower shop owner thinks I can probably get it for under 100k.
I've yet to perform full due diligence, so I really do not have info on set costs such as water, heat, insurance, taxes, etc.
Any gym owners, former gym owners out there with any advise?
The economy around here is sour, but I think I may be seeing a niche. The only other gyms around here are located at a community center 5 miles away and there is an LA Fitness 3 miles away and a Ballys 3 miles away.
I'm looking at something small; more of a nighborhood gym like you might see in a boximg movie like Rocky...not a big fancy "where all the beautiful people go" meet market.,
Three treadmills, a couple Nautalis machines and mostly free wights. I would hope to make most of my money from selling supplements, vitamins, creatine, etc.
PROS: would replace niche vacated by previous gym that was torn down
high traffic area
public parking
building might be affordable and easy to convert into a gym
very close to where I live, wouldn't even have to drive there
have some gym equipment already and experience with sales and how gym memberships work
CONS: In a poorer area- higher crime area
Unsure of potential clientel
Only ran a lawn service before, never ran a brick-n-mortal business (no retail experience)
People around here would rather have a fried chicken then a sweaty workout (can that be changed?)
Unsure of capital costs for commercial gym equipment.
Another thought I had was to negotiate with a local hotel to advertise and sell memberships to their hotel gym to people who live in the area-- I can sell and keep track of members and maintain the gym area, but it will still be open to their guests for free....
Any thoughts or suggestions?
moreResolved Question: Expired Baby Ruth laced with bugs?
I went to the movies and bought a baby ruth(which cost me $4). I opened it up and broke it in half and gave some to my boyfriend. I took a bite and I said, "It tastes like soap or something." So my boyfriend agrees. I decide that I refuse to pay for this candy bar so I start heading back to the snack bar. On the way, I looked for an expiration date, and the only date I could find was October 2007, which was some contest deadline that was being advertised on the package. That is when I noticed small bugs in the bandy bar and I about lost it... My boyfriend and I had a bite of this candy car and we are already feeling sick, but I am unsure if it was the idea of eating the bugs or if it was actually the chocolate bar being rancid. Needless to say we got free candy and free tickets. Should we be worried?
moreResolved Question: Shouldn't I have heard an advertisement by now?
Before my ex broke up with me, his father was to open a franchise about now. He was putting his son in charge of advertising and marketing. (In my opinion a poor choice considering the guy doesn't have a degree, can't keep his car clean and went without toilet paper for a week - but I digress) They were slated to open about now. I checked the corporate website and their location is listed. However, I am from the same area and have not heard any advertisements or simple business announcements (free) in the local paper. Anyone have any ideas as to the reasons?
Thanks

I am supplying for after sales warranty intern because I think that after sales service is almost as important as the initial purchase. It helps to ensure that customers are satisfied with their purchases and a happy customer become a loyal customer. A loyal customer is free advertising as they will tell others of the great service they receive. Plus, the next time that customer wants to make a purchase they will remember the company.
moreResolved Question: A great way to make a lot of money?
HI my name is Rob H and I have a truly amazing new way for people to interact with video games that i believe has the opportunity to change the way people play video games forever.
Other then that idea, my team has thought of what we consider to be the perfect MMORPG.
What i want to do is build the game. While the game is being designed start working on my unique idea for human/console interaction witch I am calling HCIS, then release them at the same time.
But I don't want to sell my rights to ANYTHING and I don't want to rely on anyone else for money, because from my own independent research I have figured out that just building the game is going to take 3 years and cost 4 million dollars. I don't have any collateral to offer a bank, and if i except money from private investors then I'm going to lose a lot of the control over my own company and ideas, not to mention that in any case I am going to end up paying my investors/bank back about 14 million! And this is bad because i have 6 other unique game ideas that would work so well with the HCIS.
So, I have decided that I do not want to borrow any money.
What can i do to make it on my own? Well, my idea for the MMORPG is a huge epic story, I was thinking that I could wright a book off of the story. I began writing out fundamental key points that if i wright a book must be in the book then i sat back and looked at my notes, there is no possible way that I could fit this into anything less then 4 books. Okay I'll start a science fiction series to make me the money that i need to start my company but my personal research told me that i could only expect possibly $1.00 - $2.00 per book sold and that is if I produce them myself! Well, needless to say I'm not going to make 4 million dollars overnight making my dreams into books, but if i do make them that will give me some capital to start working with and hopefully, a loyal fan base.
Alright so I make the books, then I make a website for the game and explain whats going on, put a bunch of mini games that are entertaining and free because you know free games bring people in and possibly create a very very low budget 2D version of the game that players can play online together, the game tibia, the graphics are terrible but A LOT of people are obsessed with that game (myself included). then a lot like tibia make the game play free but charge a low monthly rate that allows players to do more. So through that proses i can get some more fans. Explain on the site that my idea is going to take some serious money and get some donations thou I know that is unreliable it might help a bit..
For the loyal fan base, put some t-shirts on the site, advertise and sell my books on the site. sell some pay per click advertisement space on the site. Then over time HOPEFULLY i can reach my goal but if not i did have one more idea, get as much money as i can, pay my employs to create a demo, and sell advertising space in the game, this game takes place in modern times, and ill bet that right now as you read this you cant even look around the room you are in with out seeing 2 or 3 advertisements weather it be on the side of your can of coke or the name brand logo on the monitor you are looking at. sense advertising is so common in our every day life it would be unrealistic if i did not add advertisement to the game right? So my idea is that your player picks up a pistol, that is a Smith and Weston pistol, its a real model that they actually make, your player finds a car, and bam its the new ford whatever. Your player drives down the street and sees a billboard for coke, and a wall-mart.
That is my final idea to get the funding to produce my video game. what i want from you is feed back on my ideas, are they good, do they suck, and do you have any additional ideas that could help me on my journey? Thank you so much for your time.
moreResolved Question: How to get more clients as a hairsylist and make-up artist?
I am a independent contractor at a very nice salon where i do hair, make-up, waxing, eyelash extensions and i also make my own jewelry and display it there. I have a pretty decent amount of client, and am very happy with those that I have. Because of the type of salon it is, we do not get walk-ins..which is fine because I don't want to be at that type of salon anyways. I am very confident in my work and love what I do but I am having trouble getting more in to fill in some gaps here and there to the point where I am always completely booked. I have made flyers and put them on cars in various places...went from business to business with them...they have coupons on them and a brief description of what I do. I have sent some to clients saying they will get a discount for referring..and that has brought a couple in but I'd like to have more. I also put an add in a local coupon magazine that everyone in the area gets for free. I am involved in many local art shows with my jewelry in which I give out my business cards to all other artists and buyers. I know it's a rough time for alot of people right now money wise but I know there are people out there that I can get as clients...and I want to get them as soon as I can because I'm sure it would be best to get them before the holidays. Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated!...and because I am an independent contractor, I do not have a boss or anyone to tell me I can or cannot do this or that so I am able to advertise or get myself out there in any way I want, without promoting the rest of the stylists as well.

It will be all things Monk. Music, interviews, commentary on the man. As always on WKCR, commercial free, and no silly "radio personality" djs to deal with.
NOTE- WKCR rarely does fund raising on air. When they ask for money, they truly need it. If you become a regular listener, than you really should help support the station.
The djs are volunteers. Your not paying for their fancy cars. Your just helping them to spin the good stuff, for anyone listening.
They have no money for advertising. That's why they rely on listeners to spread the word and help out. Thanks.

Ok...my twin sister and I are 23years old. She's been married to this jackass for like 3years. Recently she found him on the THIRD dating website advertising for free sex. She's one of those pathetic women that take a man like that back in like 2days. She called me with her sobbing story and I put the asshole in his place. I told him where to go and how to get there. He is in the army and they live in Germany. His section leader sided with him & disrespected my sis so I emailed him & told him off too (professionally). All because my sister just doesn't know how to stand up for herself. Since then my sister and I have moved past it & chatted on the phone a few times. But I called her for the first time with him at home & she completely blows at me. Jeckle and Hyde. I only called a few times & they both end up getting the county sherriff involved regarding harrassing calls!!! But when we talked she saw my point of view about not allowing a man decide on who she talks to...esp her own twin sister. And then I hear she doesn't want me to call??? He's been ridiculously controlling from the getgo. While in basic and while they were married he sent NO money, wouldn't let her drive his car for 6mos when she had no transportation, only let her grocery shop with his mom, won't let her talk to any of her old friends, when she came in to visit for two weeks for christmas expected her to stay with his parents without him instead of her own family, While in Iraq he'd go through the roof if she wasn't home when he called to the point the chaplain put him in his place. i bought a xbox 360 within the first year of launch and like almost everyone i know it died to the ''red rings of death''. microsoft was cool and replaced it for free and even sent me a free month of live for the incovienance. i thought this was actually good business but right now as i tell you this im about to call about my fourth replacement unit failing. thats right my fourth!!! my first replacement (xbox #2) got the red rings as well my the second one they sent me (xbox #3) started destroying the game discs and eventually stopped reading them all together. which brings me to this xbox 360 (#4) its has some kind of graphics issue. it makes madden 10 look like madden 95. iv tryed different cords, t.v.'s, and games its definatly the xbox. so this will be my 5th xbox 360 since i bought my original they've had to replace. now that being said i know what your thinking "well at least they replaced it every time and for free at that!" right? wrong, just like everyone else they expected me to pay for repair after sending me a replacement for free the first time around but i wasnt having it. the way i saw it was they had never sent a replacement that wasnt defected so why should i have to pay for the repair? its like buying a new car that breaks down 2 months after you buy it. they fix it for free but put the same defected part in it hand ya a free tank of gas and laugh all the way to the bank knowing you'll be back and next time you'll have to pay for it. i reported microsoft to the better bussiness bureo in washington since thats where there HQ is located and they got back to me quick (they have to by law). not only where they gonna fix it for free now but each time except for the first time my xbox broke they sent me one gift of my choice (which is selected off of a list of garbage items that hey cant sell) and one month of xbox live gold subscrption card. but see every xbox they've sent me with the exception of my first replacement unit that died from the rings has been in poor condition compared to the one i sent them. this last one that just broke was the worst, broken port doors on the face plate pen & dirt marks i mean come on you would think they could send me an xbox that is in the same condition if not better then the one i sent in. now ive read alot of blogs about this stuff and relize im lucky i should be happy. theres a ton of poor people out there that actually let this B.S.slide and dont do anything about it but buy a new xbox to replace their defected one and i understand that its all i EVER wanted, a working xbox 360 its what i paid for. see i buy games constantly on there release dates for my 360. the faster your done with them the more money you get back on trading it in. i also rent lots of games & buy lots of accessories for my xbox like: Rockband/guitarhero equipment, extra controlers, HDTV cords, ms points for arcade games, i also have net flix. just like everything else i pay a monthly fee and can watch movies instantly on demand though my xbox, and see thats what really gets me. no one is re-inbursing me for the games we rented that cant be played now and are gonna be due back before my xbox will be repaired. its pretty cool i pay almost $8 a game at the video store & 26.99 a month for game fly but have no xbox to play the games on. my xbox like advertised is the family entertainment system i pay an arm and a leg each month for features through my xbox that i keep having to lose because they just cant seem to send me an xbox with out any issues. they tell me that its a free repair but how free is it when i have all this money invested, im actually waisting money every time it breaks down so nothings free. like i originally told microsoft ''send me a working xbox or give me money back'' there yet to due either.

If I wanted to get performance parts for my car with out have to pay but in exchange advertise them on the car its self where would I need to go? Is there a website or something?
moreResolved Question: Is our government really advertising to get people to take more money and be dependent on them now?
Yesterday, while my husband and I were driving in the car we heard an ad on the radio that really angered me. It was for a program called SNAP (food stamps). I totally understand that some people need them and when things are difficult, it's a good thing.
But, they are actually running snappy little ads on the radio saying things like "it's easy, just visit our web site and you can get free groceries...."
Here's one article you might want to read:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090903/us_nm/us_usa_foodstamps
So, let's think about this... our government is paying for advertising so they can spend more money that they don't have, as we are in debt already. They are spending more than ever before, but actually advertising these lovely cheery little ads to make more people dependent.
Let's think about advertising for jobs so people become self supporting as an alternative to getting more dependent on give-a-way programs. I'm just disgusted. We are spending money to place ads and then inviting more and more to become dependent offering free food.
Please don't think I begrudge people who need food the food or anything, but to advertise???? I don't want starving people, but want self sufficient people who are supporting themselves.
Do you see anything wrong with this?
The bleeding heart liberals will call me selfish on this one, I know it so don't bother to tell me. I'll somehow be referred to as a racist as well, I guess. But, why are we out there running ads to invite people to be more dependent on an over-reaching government? Why not be running ads inviting people to attend government organized job fairs and quietly offer the food stamps to those who are seeking work. Before the naysayers demand a link to the ads, I looked and didn't find one. I didn't happen to have my tape recorder in the car, but do take my word that the ad was on our car radio on a regular local station and not some obscure out of the way station.By the way, I saw another perky little ad on TV last night inviting first time home buyers to take advantage of an 8K rebate for buying a home.
Sure wish someone had given me that when we bought our first home, but we paid with blood, sweat and tears. Who works hard nowadays? Why not sit back and let big brother care for you!

here is what he said in the e-mail
Hello,
I don't have a contact number yet, I just bought a new house. I’ve been in my new house for almost 2 weeks now and things are finally settling into place. I unpacked most of the boxes, got most of our utilities setup but it would take one more week with the phone. The shipping arrangements have already been made before moving to Portugal. The car is at the shipping company in Virginia, ready to go anywhere in the United States. It will arrive with all the papers and documents required for registration and the keys. The clear title and the bill of sale will be already signed by me.
The final price you will have to pay is $4,400. The payment will be done through eBay. They will act as a third party in this transaction. You will send the money to eBay and as soon as the payment is confirmed they will notify me to proceed with the shipping. I will ship the car, you will receive it and will have 5 days for inspection, both the car and the paperwork. During all this time eBay will hold the money. If you are satisfied with the car and decide to keep it you inform eBay about this and they will release the money to me. If the car is not as advertised and decide not to keep it eBay will refund you the money, no questions asked, and shipping back the car will be my concern. I think this is more than fair for the both of us.
Please take into consideration that I will get paid only after you receive the car and make sure everything is as agreed.
If you agree with these terms and you have the money, send me your full name and the address where you want the car to be delivered and I will initiate the transaction with eBay. You will receive all the transaction details from them.
I will appreciate an answer as soon as possible. Also, feel free to ask me any question you may have.

Thank you for being interested in buying my 2003 Cadillac Escalade EXT AWD, Automatic Transmission, 72 000 MILES, VIN 3GYEK63N93G114695. It is in EXCELLENT condition; the body and paint are great, no scratches and no dents; the interior is clean; it has never been involved in an accident; the title is clear.
I have recetly moved to Portugal. I was hoping to take my car here but when I found out how much shipping and registration would be i've changed my mind. As I'm unable to travel in the near future and I don't have anyone in the US to help me with the sale I decided to make this transaction through eBay. I believe this protects both buyer and seller and it's the right way to do this.
The final price is $4,400. If you decide to buy this car or need further information please get back to me as soon as possible.
Thank you,
Charlotte
moreResolved Question: Relationship question (Gay)?
Hello.
I've been single for 6 years now. At first, this was liberating and I welcomed being free from a very undesirable situation - I was not attracted to my partner at all, and was pressured into the relationship in the first place.
6 years later I'm done with the single life and looking for someone long-term again. But here are my issues:
1. I live in a notoriously whorish upscale neighborhood (yes, sometimes the two do meet). When I first moved in, a friend told me it was not likely I would find a long-term partner since the neighborhood essentially advertises itself as a sex haven. Over near 3 years I have found this mostly to be true - everyone just wants to hook up, nothing more.
I do not own a car and so it's difficult for me to be able to travel outside of the neighborhood to find a partner who might be interested in something more. I feel terrible forcing potential dates to always travel to me. In the past it has worked out from time to time, when the guy I've dated has had roommates or lived with their parents - but this is not always the case.
2. I've found 2 potential long-term relationship partners.
Guy #1 is very, very, VERY attractive and very sweet, but is frequently traveling around the city working, and has no consistent days off. Also the communication needs work and he is very comfortable being by himself and does not feel compelled to reach out and say "hi" every day, or even to respond to all of my text messages - which bugs me to a point.
However I am still very, very attracted to this person and the feeling is likewise. Also, this person is fine with traveling to me, although I think potentially being able to travel to him would help some things. Guy #1 has also just told me he is dating around - which is normal before settling, but does make me feel slightly uncomfortable.
Person #2 is also very sweet, but is much more intelligent and goal-oriented. I don't know whether he owns a car, and it seems not, but it doesn't seem to matter because he always finds a way to see me.
Guy #2 was recently laid off but is active in finding a new job - this is something that really doesn't bug me at all.
The most important issue with Guy #2 is that I am not as attracted to him as I am to Guy #1, although we have much more in common and he seems to be a little more into me than Guy #1 is, and more often than not is more willing to coordinate with me to make last minute plans than Guy #1 is.
What should I do? Being attracted to your partner is VERY important, but being comfortable in the relationship is important as well. Should I wait for a while? Ask more questions? Date around more?To sum-up, I'm tired of waiting. 6 years is a long time, and I'm ready to settle down.

moreResolved Question: Why has no nation on Earth ever had a successful private, for-profit, universal health insurance system?
Attention, high school drop-outs! Free debating lessons here:

Before answering the question above, please read my answer below. If you disagree with my facts and logic, please tell me why I am wrong. Then I will tell you why you are wrong. That is the way grownups do it. If you only want to type a sound bite, go away.
***********************************************************************
Profit-making is incompatible with the prevention and cure of sickness. Healing sick people is not a service in the same sense that fixing a car is a service.
The auto-repair industry serves its customers profitably in a free market for several reasons that do not apply to the health care industry:
1. The cost of an auto repair rarely exceeds 50% of the cost of acquiring an equivalent vehicle and is usually less than 5% of that cost.
The patient cannot acquire another body. The cost of an illness may exceed the combined cost of a buying a home and raising a family of university graduates.
2. Garages stay in business by making good decisions and providing good service.
Health care providers stay in business (retain their medical license) by conforming to industry standards. The health care industry (as opposed to the health care INSURANCE industry) does not want customers. They do not have to attract customers. There is no point in advertising for customers. The doctor regrets that the patient needs his help. The patient regrets being a patient.
3. Auto repair is based upon commodities: widely available parts, repair manuals, tools, and mechanics. Costs are well known and prices are regulated by competition
Health care equipment is highly technical and very expensive. Doctors are mostly specialists, often researchers with few students. They sometimes build their own equipment. The customer’s life may depend upon finding the right doctor. If that doctor does not have a contract with the patient’s private insurance company, the claim will be denied. (http://www.creators.com/liberal/froma-harrop/free-market-death-panels.html)
4. All drivers can afford to drive – until they can’t. If too many drivers can’t afford to drive, some garages may suffer or fail. It’s tough on the ex-drivers and ex-garage owners, but that’s the free market.
Patients must be served whether they can afford to pay or not. If they cannot pay, the cost must be shifted to others.
In particular, children and students cannot afford to pay for their own care. But they must receive the finest possible health care (and education) regardless of the wealth or poverty of their parents.
This requirement is enshrined in our Constitution’s Preamble which vows to “promote the general Welfare and to secure the Blessing of Liberty to ourselves and to our Posterity.” Posterity is our nation’s ONLY product. We MUST do it right. Spending large public funds on the postponement of death for a few very uncomfortable months is an irrational betrayal of our heritage and our national interest.
For the above reasons, universal health care costs can only be met by payments of deductible claims made through an insurance system financed by premiums that are subsidized for the poor. Costs are paid from the insurance pool. For statistical and administrative reasons, the larger the pool, the lower will be the premiums. The risk is spread over a larger population. That is why single-payer policies are the least expensive: everybody is in the same pool. This is a mathematical CERTAINTY.
Breaking the insurance pool into a hundred different pools adds important costs: financing, administrative, advertising, customer selection, claims denial, high executive salaries, and profits. These additional costs (over 25% of the total current cost and over 33% more than the single-payer costs) represent a “tax” paid to private insurance companies by all its customers with no benefit to the consumers.
The usual objection to single-payer is government inefficiency. And reduction of Medicare and Medicaid costs are part of the legislation before Congress. But the Veterans Administration provides excellent care to millions of veterans suffering a wide range of problems at a very reasonable cost compared to private industry.
Government rationing of health care is another objection. But, without exception, every private health care insurance company has a large building with an entire floor or two devoted to a department that does nothing else but ration health care. These claim deniers are answerable only to their highly paid management, not to Congress or to a State Legislature or to the voter. The only recourse to denial of a claim is to file a suit through the court system and pay the lawyer.
There are now insurance solutions approximating single-payer before Congress. They need your support.General answers:
Success means that, with relatively few exceptions, everyone is served as well as possible within the available resources regardless of previous history or ability to pay. Of course, some will be served better or worse than others. It's the intent that counts.
We have two excellent VA hospitals in the Chicago area. I receive excellent service in my clinic. The brouhaha at Walter Reed was solved by firing a general. There are problems at all hospitals, VA or not.
Most of the VA problems arise from PTSD cases. No civilian hospital has that problem.
I can't believe how many high school drop-outs skipped reading my carefully thought out essay and just dropped a sound bite. That's rude. I begged you guys to go away.
For those who got ripped off at a garage, welcome to the free market. It is neither successful in economic terms nor universal. Many people, including me, have been very well served, whether private or public. That is somewhat like the USSR, which could beat us into space but couldn't make bumaga (that's toilet paper).

My husband and I are offering free room and board and free utilities and use of our 2nd car in exchange for child care help which is not set hours but just being around during the day to help me if needed. We advertised our studio and found a girl but currently my mom decided she wants to stay in the studio and now we have to call the girl and tell her that my mom is going to stay in the studio but she can use the two extra rooms in our main house and have her own bathroom. I really feel bad that I have to tell her it's different then what we already talked about. What should I do?
My husband says we are offering so much that she should still be happy. She gets two nice rooms to use in our main house instead of the studio which is about the size of one of the bedrooms just with an outside entrance. But I still feel like it will look to her like a switch and bad kinda thing.
Reason my mom needs to stay in the studio is she goes to bed early and our sons crying may wake her up and she has insomnia. The girl goes to bed late and is a heavy sleeper. I just should never have offered the studio in my ad until I was 100% sure that it was not a problem for my mom.

moreResolved Question: Is this seller trying to scam me?
Hello,
I am glad that you are really interested in my car.
Regarding the price, to be honest with you...this was my brother car but he is not…anymore.I don't want to get rich by its selling, just want to give it to someone who will take good care.......
As I already said in my first email the car is currently located in UK but still registered in US, so you won't have to pay anything since it have a clear US title, no lien.
Also, the car is in perfect working condition and it was never been smoked in.
I can have it shipped from here by an US Air Force cargo plane so there won't be any additional shipping costs. Also I can arrange for a truck to transport the car to your home address or, if you like, you can pick it up from the nearest airport in your area. The shipping will take up to 7 days, depending on your location. The car will arrive with all the papers and documents required for registration and the keys. The US clear title and the bill of sale will be already signed by me.
The final price you will have to pay is $15,500. The payment must be done through eBay. Ebay Motors will work for us just like an escrow service, just that the transaction will be faster and also 100% secure for both of us. You will send them the payment, then they will let me know that the payment is OK and I can start the shipping. After the car will arrive to you and you will inspect it, you will let them know that, so they can forward the payment and complete the transaction.
If the car is not as advertised and decide not to keep it (I'm sure this will not be the case) eBay will refund you the money, no questions asked, and shipping back of the car will be my concern. I think this is fair for both of us.
Also, feel free to ask me any question you may have.

involved in an accident. I'm an US Air Force Col. currently stationed in UK and the car is here with me. It was bought in the US and shipped to Europe, but it was never permanently registered here, the car is still registered in the US.
The shipping will take up to 7 business days and you will also have 10 days to inspect and test drive the vehicle from the moment it arrives at your place. There will be no extra or hidden taxes for you to pay since the car is still registered in US. In case you decide not to keep the car I'm responsible for shipping back costs. I must say that this is a US model car, with the steering wheel on the left side, as opposed to a UK model, that has the steering wheel on the right side. As I'm unable to travel in the near future and I don't have anyone back home to help me with the sale I decided to sell this car through eBay or craigslist.
Our transaction will be entirely through eBay Motors and we both will be covered.
The final price is $15,500 including shipping from Europe to the US and delivery to your home address. So if you decide to buy this car or need further information pleaseget back to me as soon as possible.

Hi there.
I'm currently 3/4 into my lease it expires in late Nov.
I've had a terrible time at the place I'm renting. We signed the lease being aware that they were planning on building 2 units behind us on the same block of land. but was told this would not commence until 6 months in and we would get a letter in writing.
The very next morning a bobcat came to bulldoze the garage up the back to "start construction". They had knocked down the whole side fencing that is next to a railway line where anyone can wonder through. And in the lease it states that they have to put up fencing around the back houses-which they STILL haven't.
Now before you say "why didn't you end the lease then and there?" I'll add that I was pregnant at the time (and now have a baby) to give a roof over it's head, I have nowhere else to go.
Since the very second day that we had moved in we have never had peace and quiet, always told to move our cars out of the driveway, which is our carapace as advertised. The landlord has come to our place unannounced to "fix" tiles that had fallen off onto me in the shower(while I was pregnant) and to fix a light bulb hanging from a chord from the ceiling with sticky tape TWICE!(I called the property manager and told them that they didn't do a good job and needed an electrician).
And now about 3 weeks ago some construction workers came and ripped up our driveway and front lawn to re-concrete it (to make the new houses join up) and STILL haven't. I wouldn't mind so much if it were summer, but because it's winter it rains, which means there is a LOT of mud, making it unsafe for anyone to walk through (I have slipped over more than once and nearly slipped over holding my 3 month old baby). And it dirtys our shoes and we have no choice but to partially trail mud through our house, and oh yes when we go out of the house we trail mud to the car leaving us with muddy shoes whenever we go anywhere.
By the way did I mention they're selling the place?! They've been trying to sell it for 3 months now and is still unsuccessful and people have been coming through every week since and it's disrupting our peace and quiet and enjoyment of the property.
Sorry for the long rant but thats whats been happening :(
Yes we have taken pictures of unsafe stuff thats been going on and documented dates when the landlord has shown up etc.
My question is, I want to end the lease because the landlord has broken it time and time again. How many days notice will I have to move out? And can I start looking for a new place to live in before I move out?(is it legal to have 2 leases running at the same time (while trying to end the fist one?). The only reason I'm still in this shi!hole is because my partner and I have nowhere to go and I don't want my child living on the streets :( I'm also worried we won't get our bond back if we try and get the lease ended (we have been good tenants and kept the property inside clean and damage free).
I'm so over this mess to the point where I don't know what I'll do to myself if I can't get out of here, it's killing me. I feel like there is no way out. Sorry for inconvenience anyone who reads this but no one is helping me out. Not even our property manager.
moreResolved Question: I'm in sales and haven't had trouble selling until now, maybe because it's different. HELP! WHAT CAN I DO?
I need some good tips for direct selling.?
Hi, I started selling AVON as a second job about four days ago. I have been passing out most of the books that were given to me by my leader ( she gave me over 50 to start with and I only have eight left, other than the one I have kept for myself. ) and I only got one order so far for over $20. I'm bummed because half of the books went to people who are friends or know me through my fiance'-yet I'm not getting more orders yet. I work with a small group and only two co-worker's are female, and one of them has a daughter who sells AVON, so, so much for that. I only have a few close girlfriends, maybe four who will buy sooner or later, but one recently had an emergency with their home being badly damaged, (floors and roof) and another just had a family member go into surgery for something serious the other day, and another is a single mom but loves AVON but probably can't afford much. Yeah.....talking about beginners luck....NOT! I can't ask, and won't try to sell to my friends during rough times, at least not until their circumstances change for the better.
Ok, so I need some serious tips to sell to strangers or people I come in contact with regularly - at places of business, but yet I don't know them well, other than chatting with them briefly, here and there.
My DSM who signed me up has been an AVON rep for 32 years and it's her full time career and has been for years, and I will talk with her more at a meeting she invited me to this week. I have been in sales since high school. I sold cars and quit so that I could go to college, and then I went into selling advertising - which has worked out well for me, so why such a slow start with AVON? I would think that it would be fairly easy to sell, considering many of the items are affordable and are in the same price range as products at Target, Walmart, Penney's, etc; not to mention I love certain AVON products myself, particularly the SSS, bubble bath, hand creams, and lipstick.
AND.... the point is - is you're helping out the little guy, not just a big corporation.... you're helping out the student, the single mom, the teacher who needs a little extra income.......well, you get the picture.
I have not set my goals too high, because I just wanted to make a few hundred dollars extra per month, and if I can make more, GREAT!
I realize I didn't start out with alot of brochures, and I will have to order plenty of them with some samples to increase my business, but I think the main thing I am looking for is tips to increase sales with people I've just met or haven't met. I have left some brochures at businesses, and obviously you cant' just rely on family, that's silly.
What about going to a new nail salon that just opened and offering them free advertising by exposing their business on my flyers, which I would be paying for anyway - in exchange for referrals and letting me leave brochures and business cards there?
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!
moreResolved Question: Beware of this direct marketing scam company in Lincoln (UK)? and do not work for cobra elsewhere?
This is about Eclipse promotions in Lincoln. They are a branch of Endeva Advertising in Nottingham and the Cobra group.
I went for an interview and they completely treated me like **** and lied. They said I would be on a wage but when I was successful they didnt tell me it was a commision based job the other candidates told me. They tried made us start at 8am in the morning and didnt let us leave until midnight they were always trying to make me ferry people around in my car. The worst thing is we only had 3 hours to try selling and the rest of the time we had to fanny around in the office for free or travel aro8nd train to bus to train and not paying for travel. They completely lie to the donators!
The job was door to door sales and to make people donate £1.50 by direct debit. We were told to say that 100% of the £1.50 the person donates will go straight to the charity whereas in fact, every penny goes to the hands of Endeva and they split the amount raised. Reps and these marketing companies are paid out of the money people pay and they choose how much goes to the charity. The reps travel throughout the UK but as far as I know eclipse and endeva travel across east midlands to leicester, sleaford, nottingham, chesterfield etc. Dont pay donate through these people, donate online so then youre getting the most out of your money to the charity. The charities they represent include NDCS, British Red cross, WWF, RSPB and more charities. And do NOT work for these people they will disrespect you, make you give up relationship's unless he/she also works for the company, make you cancel hospital appointments pre arranged, and if you wont let them use your own car, they will say "your car is knackered anyway" and will try to bully you into using it to ferry around the people who dont have cars. Someone on the web who also used to work for endeva said he was stripped of every sale he made just because he quit! These companies save so much money by not paying staff travel expenses, and not paying for labour. Unless you want all the disadvantages of being self employed with all the disadvantages of employment (stupid hours made by the company MONDAY - SATURDAY 80+ HOURS PER WEEK and commission only based pay during what little time you spend selling) STAY AWAY!
