Resolved Question: Thekkady Boat Tragedy - Toll rose to 68.Who is to blame?

Kerala Tourism proudly advertises that "Kerala is God's own Country". There is no doubt in this statement as Kerala is one of the most visited and preferred states in India. But the recent boat tragedy has raised a many doubts. 68 tourished have perished and the boat was carrying more than its capacity. Kerala Government has to clear the following doubts. * Who allowed the boat to carry more tourists and why? * Was the boat lake/river/water worthy? *Are there proper documents like periodical survey by state/centre water transport departments? *Why the tourists were blamed like they all moved to port side or stbd side of the boat and there are no preventive measures to avoid this. *Why there are not enough Life Saving Appliances like life-jackets,life-buoys,life-rafts etc? *Is there any rescue team, consisting of trained crew,to save in case any tourist falls overboard? *Is there any First Aid team to resuscitate the victims? *Are there Fire Fighting Appliances to fight fire? *In case if the boat develops a leak,is there a pump to bail out water? *Do the boat drivers undergo regular re validation of their certificate of competency? *Do the drivers undergo Alcohol test before reporting for duty? Accidents never happen but are caused. This tragedy is due to dereliction of duty of Kerala Tourism Department. The Government has to take onerous responsibility for the death of innocent tourists comprising mainly children&women. The culprits should not be allowed to go scot-free and they should be punished. Tourism Industry needs dedicated Ministers, officers etc as Hospitality is the main motto to take care of. "God's own country" should bring the truth behind this tragedy-punish the persons concerned.and instill confidence in Tourists mind. more

Resolved Question: would you quit like i did?

I was volunteering to give out food to the needy. It specified what the income level was to receive this free food. # people started coming that have big bucks. Drive new cars, have motorhomes, 2 motorcycles and expensive boats. We would open at 9am and advertise to be open from 9 until 11. We run out of food by 9;30 or 10:00 and have to turn hungry people away. I said "No more and thde politics be are trying to make trouble for me. These guys go to church sunday mornings but say they have pull in the county and will make trouble for me to get even. I am glad i expoosed them. However, i regret not being able to help the needy. Hopw should i feel? more

Resolved Question: Should we establish a new country somewhere for those who want a "better life"?

In the good old days it was America, and then Australia. Those who came from poor countries or who were fed up with life in their homeland could emigrate to either country for a "better life". Britain is a small, overcrowded island and we have never advertised ourselves nor ever wanted to be a Mecca for the poor and unwashed of the world. Our policy has always been to accept small numbers of highly skilled migrants and GENUINE refugees only. However these days, the Yanks are sick of providing a haven for every Tom, Sancho and Miguel who wants a "better life" and have made getting into the US *very* difficult unless you are highly skilled or on a spouse visa. Same goes for the Aussies. No more £5 package deals. You have to prove you have something to offer and enough cash to support yourself, or no dice. So where do the poor and needy of the world go these days? Well to be honest it looks like the UK, considering we already cater for most of the unskilled workers of Eastern Europe and accept people who stowed away in a lorry from Calais on "compassionate grounds" . . . I've seen illegals from Africa on TV risking their lives to cross the seas in leaky little boats saying that they are "determined" to get into the UK. I wonder why? We're a cold rainy overcrowded little island. But we do have a generous welfare state and free healthcare at point of access . . . So what do you think? Find an area of uninhabited land somewhere and set up a new country where all can go for their "better life"? Might take a bit of the pressure off the UK . . . more

Resolved Question: How about this new Somali Cruise?

I found a Somali cruise package that departs from Sawakin (in the Sudan) and docks at Bagamoya (in Tanzania). The cost is a bit high @ $800 per person double occupancy per day but I didn't find that offensive. What I found encouraging and enlightened is that the cruise is encouraging people to bring their 'High powered weapons' along on the cruise. If you don't have your own weapons you can rent them right there on the boat. They claim to have a master gunsmith on board and will have reloading parties every afternoon as well as optional marksmanship training. The cruise lasts from 4-8 days and nights and costs a maximum of $3200 per person double occupancy (4 days). All the boat does is sail up and down the coast of Somalia waiting to get hijacked by pirates. Here are some of the costs and claims associated with the package; * $800.00 US/per day double occupancy (4 day max billing) * M-16 full auto rental $ 25.00/day ammo at 100 rounds of 5.56 armor piercing ammo at 15.95 * AK-47 riffle @ No charge. ammo at 100 rounds of 7.62 com block ball ammo at 14.95 * Barrett M-107 .50 cal sniper riffle rental 55.00/day ammo at 25 rounds 50 cal armor piercing at 9.95 * Crew members can double as spotters for 30.00 per hour (spotting scope included). * Wow - they even offer RPG's at 75 bucks and 200 dollars for 3 standard loads * "Everyone gets use of free complimentary night vision equipment and coffee and snacks on the top deck from 7pm-6am." * Meals are not included but costs seem reasonable. * Most cruises offer a mini-bar... these gung ho entrepreneurs offer......... get this..... * "MOUNTED MINIGUN AVAILABLE @ 450.00 per 30 seconds of sustained fire" * (Sign me up for that!) They advertise group rates and corporate discounts......and even claim "FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY" They even have a partial money back offer if not satisfied....here's some text from the ad. "We guarantee that you will experience at least two hijacking attempts by pirates or we will refund half your money back including gun rental charges and any unused ammo (mini-gun charges not included). How can we guarantee you will experience a hijacking? We operate at 5 knots within 12 miles of the coast of Somalia. If an attempted Hijacking does not occur we will turn the boat around and cruise by at 4 knots. We will repeat this for up to 8 days making three passes a day along the entire length of Somalia. At night the boat is fully lit and bottle rockets are shot off at intervals and loud disco music beamed shore side to attract attention. Cabin space is limited so respond quickly. Reserve your package before the end of May and get 100 rounds of free tracer ammo in the caliber of your choice." As if all that isn't enough to whet your appetite, there were a few testimonials; * "I got three confirmed kills on my last trip. I'll never hunt big game in Africa again. I felt like the Komandant in Schindlers list!"---- Lars, Hamburg, Germany * "Six attacks in 4 days were more than I expected. I bagged three pirates and my 12yr old son sank two rowboats with the mini-gun. PIRATES 0 - PASSENGERS-32! Well worth the trip. Just make sure your spotter speaks English" - Ned, Salt Lake city, Utah USA * "I haven't had this much fun since flying choppers in NAM. Don't worry about getting shot by pirates as they never even got close to the ship with those weapons they use and their squirrelly aim-reminds me of a drunken 'juicer' door gunner we picked up from the motor pool back in Nam"-"chopper' Dan ----Toledo USA. * "Like ducks in a barrel. This is must do! - Zeke, Minnahaw Springs, Kentucky, USA Finally, someone had the common sense to cash in AND solve a major problem. These folks deserve a medal! more

One guy advertises about this product very briefly. He starts introducing his name as and the product he says sham wow is like a towel, chamois and sponge all in one, except it is extremely absorbent and can be used over and over. And also this guy introduce the product how relevant and easy to use it also this product or sham wow is machine washable bleachable, will not scratch any surface and will last for years. Moreover he said the product is relevant to use it for whatever we want like cars, boats, carpets, windows, bath etc. easy to remove cola, coffee, pet stains, it doesn’t drip or don’t make a mess and it will last 10 years. The consumer of this product the majorities are in the middle age like householders. In my opinion this product advertising accomplishes the attention, interest desire and action of the consumers. The ad was hilarious the person used some jokes like “made in Germany the germen people always make good stuffs” and he mentions the brand again and again the sound and the vision was clear and interesting. Moreover the massage of the ad was simple and consumer can be able to keep the massage in mind. In addition this ad get out in action to show the advantage of this product to the consumers and the consumer indeed admitted the product by saying “sham wow I can’t live without it” generally this ad has a logo, slogan, brand name and contact information ready for the consumers. The sham wow commercial adversities through TV, internet, radio, and magazine. I watched this program on women channel which is shows that they put the commercial on appropriate channel for consumers to find it’s easy. The product competitive age most likely is on maturity stage. Because there are other products that are similar with shomwow in a lot of ways so it’s hard to be secure form the compotators more

Uncle Al was walking down the street one day, minding his own business, when he saw a sign advertising a free South sea cruise. he didn't have anything else to do that day, so he decided to go!! Unfortunately, the cruise turned out to be a cheap trip on a small boat, and after a big storm, Uncle Al and the other two passengers-- close personal friends, Bobo and Hobo-- were stranded on a desert island. They spent their fist day gathering the only food they could fing (or catch), coconuts. they stacked all the coconuts in a big pile and went to sleep. During that night, Uncle Al woke and thought that there might be some disagreement about dividing the coconuts in the morning, so he divided them into three piles. he found that there was one left over, so he gave it to the monkey who had been watching him work. he his his share, put the rest of the coco nuts back together, and went back to sleep. Later that night, Bobo woke up, and having the same concern as Uncle Al, divided the coconuts into three piles. he found that there was one leftover, so he gave it to the trust monkey. he his his share, put the rest of the coco nuts back together, and went back to sleep. Still later, Hobo woke up and did the same thing. the monkey was still watching... In the morning, the three men divided up the coconuts and were surprised to find there was none left over! To leave the island and the fun cruise, Uncle Al and his crew need to figure out how many coconuts the three men had colllected the first day. the monky isnt much of a help... Resolved Question: Do you think my new auto classifieds websites could change how dealerships conduct online business?

My websites are new and fairly unknown for the most part: http://www.sellmyride.ca http://www.sellmyride.us http://www.sellmyride.eu I allow both private sellers and dealerships to list their cars, trucks, ATVs, boats, RVs, motorcycles and more for free. Now, I realize that me listing my sites here will not bring me a lot of new "business" and may even be frowned upon by some but I would really appreciate your opinion on whether or not my new sites could maybe even lower prices on cars just a little bit. How would my sites do this? Well I am thinking that if dealers no longer have to pay upwards of $4000 a month just to list their inventory on other sites this could potentially save them upwards of $48,000 a year in advertising costs. Shouldn't this lower prices on cars for all of us just a little bit? Or at the very least give everyone a good chance on getting some extras when negotiating with a dealer? What do you think? A good idea? Yay or nay? Thank you. more

Resolved Question: Anyone seen Michael Moore's new documentary "Sicko"? If so, any comments?

I thought it was really good. I would imagine it has alittle M.Moore spin on it like F/911, but it still gets you thinking about stuff you don't usually spend time thinking about. Some of the people's stories were really, REALLY sad. I am a Canadian and have heard from Americans many times about how they don't want a 'socialist' system of medical-care like in Canada. I hope this documentary opens their eyes somewhat. But we don't have it as good as the French. Damn! Wish I spoke better francais. One other thing, I don't think that you could step off a boat into Cuba and have all that medical care like the people in the documentary received. I think that was more about the Cuban gov't taking advantage of some free advertising. Still, the medicine was cheep. I hope that lady did bring home 2 suitcases full of inhalers. Over all, it was better than I was expecting. more

Anyone out there been in the same boat or know what I can do? I've submitted to the search engines and some online directories. I'd like to be able to advertise by radio or cable by late August/Sept. but need money for that. Any rich people out there willing to help me? more
