I just started a online home business with a phone company called G.V.I Solutions. My job as a affiliate is to refer people to my website. I get commissions for when they sign-up and then they become my customers, plus I get commissions for whoever they refer to and so on. Now this company have free marketing tools that I can use, but I have to do some self-advertising myself. So far I've been using the internet to do this. Open Question: Economical ways to promote a flight in a WWII B-17 Flying Fortress near Boston Aug 20-22, 2010?

I’m the President of the largest EAA (www.EAA.org) chapter in the Greater Boston area and we’re a 501(c)(3) public charity, but with a very small budget … We’ll be hosting the EAA (also a 501(c)(3)) Museum’s WWII B-17 Flying Fortress bomber known as “Aluminum Overcast” at the Lawrence Municipal Airport for a 3-day tour stop August 20-22, 2010 – but would love some advise and/or contacts: EAA requires that the host chapter (that’s us, EAA Chapter 106 – www.EAA106.org – see link for B-17 flyer on home page) provide all the advertising for both the flights (morning) and ground tours (walk through the plane in the afternoon) – times tbd. With a limited budget and a down economy, our chapter needs to be even more creative than normal in our advertising. In the past (and we’re doing these this year, too), we’ve posted flyers in pizza shops, convenience stores, grocery stores, etc – and have taken some to hotels near the airport. We’ve also posted our event to on-line aviation calendars (Aflyer, AOPA, EAA, etc). We’ve tried newspaper advertising, but that was too expensive for the results. We also try to get main-stream press (TV, major newspapers, radio) to cover the event and they can sign up for a free press flight if they agree to give coverage. So a ticket for a flight on the B-17 which is $425 at the tour stop ($399 if booked in advance) would cut what EAA would receive to be just above $100 which would not even begin to cover the actual cost of the aircraft fuel & maintenance (parts from WWII are either rare and expensive or have to be hand-made …), hauling a maintenance trailer to the tour stop, etc. Since the flight price has been held for the past few years, but fuel and maintenance costs have gone up, I have to believe the museum must be operating the B-17 on minimal margin and needs most of the ticket price to cost the costs (which include the costs of flying it to us …). So a long answer to explain that we just cannot afford to offer a Groupon (or equivalent). We also cannot afford the locally mailed coupons. Resolved Question: Where is it better to advertise for kittens, in a park or in front of one's house?

I'm visiting some relatives in Europe, and in this city they have no animal shelters, absolutely none, not even in other cities. My relatives have a bunch of kittens, and 2 older cats, and I wanted to find them a home, because after I leave they said they would just leave them on the street. I already put ads on the internet, but really sketchy people have been responding, so I have two options, either go to a park where there are a lot of kids, and advertise there, maybe bring the kittens, but don't let anyone take one until they are fully decided and prepared, a few days later or hang up a sign in front of the house that says, kittens on sale or something, or free kittens, and do the same thing, not let them take a kitten immediately but wait a few days (it gives them time to decide, but it also lets me deny them a few days later if I think they're not really serious). Which sounds like a better options, park or house? I'm assuming that advertising by the house is better because then people can make the decision to actually come to you, whereas in the park, you came to them and they might impulsively decide to get one because they think it's cute or something. more

I know! I know! I know that PC's have much better graphics! I don't need a whole article on how Fallout 3 looks gorgeous on a PC compared to an XBOX 360... Here's the point: I have both systems, a high end PC and XBOX 360, and enjoy playing on both. However, I have noticed that the number of players is rising on XBOXs these days, and I was wondering why that is... I created this question to not only say what I love about both, but to hear why everyone else chooses which they prefer... Here are MY views on things: I love both PC and console gaming, but I would hate to double up on all my games, for instance, I have already bought 2 versions of all of the Call of Duty games, one on XBOX and one on PC. As you may know, this is not only expensive but redundant. I understand that these are hard times for everyone, and that is why there are more console gamers appearing than there have been in a while: in order to play a cool PC game with good graphics, you need a pretty nice PC, which can cost anywhere from $400 - $4000, not including monitor, headset, speakers, etc. while it can cost only fractions of that by buying an XBOX 360, only $200 - $300 for the actual console, not including the television setup, speakers, etc. and have not as good graphics, but a fun and memorable experience nonetheless. I am fortunate enough to have both, but I threw it out there for reference. Most of my friends rave about their XBOXs and the games they have, and I want to play those games with them, but I would much prefer using a mouse and keyboard over a controller for most of the games XBOX offers. I do not hate the controller, I am just a bigger fan of the mouse and keyboard, as it delivers crisp and precise movements and control over the XBOX controller. I LOVE XBOX LIVE, everything about it is awesome, the free ("free" with a $50 Gold XBOX LIVE subscription) IGN Insider Moves, OXM, Major's Minute, the whole lot, but I love Steam as well. Not only does Steam offer many killer deals on games and have mega sales on almost everything, STEAM IS FREE! I love when I come home from buying an XBOX game, slip the game into the console and play it, without any installation or waiting, which can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours. I could care less where I played, whether on a couch or a comfy chair, but I enjoy playing on the same console with my friends, which is impossible on a PC. I am a big fan of the PC's highly advertised "Free DLC" through updates and patches, vs paying $10 - $15 for XBOX DLC. However, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for the PC has tested my patience and appreciation for Steam games, as I have run into many hackers and cheaters that ruin the game for everyone. Dedicated servers are awesome, as you can find any match you wanted: gametype, map, mods, player numbers, hardcore/normal health, etc. and join that game in an instant. But playing in a lobby adds a dimension of unknown and uncertainty (Who am I playing with? What is the next map?) which is also different and enjoyable. In my honest opinion, both the PC and XBOX 360 are pretty evenly matched in terms of fun, playability and entertainment, but as of right now, and the foreseeable future, I think that most of my time will be spent on my PC, as it is (in my opinion), and has been, the best way to play video games. There, I have written my essay, the point I'm trying to make is: Which do YOU think is better: the PC, or the XBOX 360, and WHY?I'm sorry that I wrote so much, and many of you won't bother to read what I wrote. Voting Question: My computer is very messed up! Help, please?

First and foremost, I OWN A VISTA. My computer has contracted a virus, more specifically malware. I tried to use System Restore but its disabled by some administrator. I researched on the internet for hours and came across techniques such as regedit, CMD, mmc, msconfig, and A LOT of other things used on run. None of those have worked. I even download Malwarebytes but it doesn't even start. The symptoms include: 1.) With any Search Engine the links posted will go to different sites 2.) The Computer random restarts 3.) All the System Restore checkpoints have been deleted and it will not make any new ones 4.) Home Antivirus 2010 pops up occasionally, I know that it too is not a good program 5.) When Windows boots up it says that there was a problem with ViewMgr and asks to send an error report, which I do not 6.) It no longer lets me log onto the normal user profile but instead the "default" one 7.) It restarts when I go to >>start>search... all of a sudden the screen turns blue and it just restarts 8.) The program Malwarebytes will not install... even after renaming it 9.) Random icons of porn keep appearing on my desktop I have done numerous full virus scans using Mcafee and have done a bunch of things in Safe mode. What should I do? I have spent y entire day trying to fix this and there is still not progress. Please do not advertise any non-free vius scanners and any run techniques such as regedit, unless it is related to VISTA. Hi so I thought I would re post this as I left details out etc... So recently my friends girl had puppy's (a cross breed litter of 6 4x black and 2x mixed color's) and the b@tch got really ill and had to go for a op so was taken away from the pups from the start (she was with them for the first 2 hours) then had to have the op and was then put back with the pups once she was home, as all pups they had a weak immune system and so did mum (my friend then being a complete and utter idiot let a dog who had demodex mange around the mum and pups, the vet told her that she can carry the mange and 'pass' on the mange to the pups and mum as their immune systems where weak so she had to use and anti bacterial gel every time before handling the pups!). After 3 weeks she took the pups for another check up and the vets noticed that they had little bald spots and done skin scrapings on every pup and it was diagnosed as demodex mange so she was treating it with advocate and it appeared to be working but obviously it is an ongoing treatment (other than the mange the puppy's where in healthy condition putting on weight very well etc etc, so before anyone says they must have been left in appalling conditions to get this mange they were not they were in good condition and she has vet recs to prove so!), she then advertised the puppy's for free but told everyone who inquired about them that they have the demodex mange but it is treatable with advocate from the vet (she explained that the vet would have to either do another skin scraping or would just visibly see that the puppy needed to have more of the treatment). Recently she received an email of one of the people who took two of the puppy's (one for her one for her friend) saying the puppy's had sarcoptic mange...email shown below 'i have had the worst 72 hours of my life.... my hairy dog fell in a lake and ended up coasting me £400 at the same time i mention to my vet about puppy itching... and pointed out a rash on my arm.... he then points out that its mange... so not only have i had to treat her my 2... my rats.. and me.... the vet bill is now 650.... you promised me that she didn't have mange and that it was just the black ones.... and its sarcoptic mange not the one you said it was.... my friend is fuming as well.. i feel upset that you didn't tell me from the start... i could of treated her alot earlier to of saved pain and discomfort.... and also my animals... and myself as its more time of work for me.... she has been treated with advocate and has 6 months worth and so are mine my rats are not in a good way as there old... i am still unsure as to what i am going to do about this situation..... i am hoping that me telling you that me you and my friend can come to some sort of arrangement.....' the thing is she told everyone that the puppy's had demodex mange, she said it was clearly visible on the black puppy's BUT she couldn't see it on the mix colored puppy's but that didn't mean they didn't have the mange and she should go to the vet and get them checked telling the vet that the puppy's had/have demodex mange. This woman is now expecting my friend to pay for her dog falling in the lake and the treatment for her other dogs and animals (and this wwoman'sfriend is expecting my friend to pay for all the animals in her house as well), but they where told that the puppy's COULD still have the demodex mange and should be checked by the vet and even told them what treatment to use. I didn't think that sarcoptic mange could be treated by advocate? Is my friend in any fault? as she did tell the people from the start that there is still a good chance that the puppy's have demodex mange as they where diagnosed with it from the start and where being treated with it. Shouldn't they have taken the puppy's to the vet and got them checked out anyway?! Also how could the puppy's have developed sarcoptic mange if they where diagnosed with demodex mange? none of the other puppy's have sarcoptic mange they all have demodex mange?!She was willing to pay for the puppy's treatment but only if they where brought back to her as the new owners hadn't taken the puppy's to the vet until a week later. None of the other puppy's given away have the sarcoptic mange only these 2 which makes no sense! She has told the women that she is willing to pay for the puppy's treatment if they are brought back to her but she is not willing to pay for the other animals treatment as it is the people's fault as they did not take the puppy's to the vet (like any normal people would!)anne b: i said above why i deleted the question!!! the puppy's didn't have sarcoptic mange before going to new homes they had demodex mites which was being treated just needed on going treatment, she explained this to everyone and people where still happy enough to take the puppy's so she was not scamming anyone or anything as they where FREE!!! Resolved Question: what is a good "work at home" job?

I am disabled, my main source of transportation is by a power wheelchair. Sometimes the fixed income isn't enough to make ends meet. I would be thrilled if I found a way to earn $10 to $40 per week at least. I've tried "paid to click/surf/view/signup/try" and all I get is viruses. A lot of "paid to" sites require payments before you get to enjoy anything. I did graduate high school, I'm 30 years old, I can proof read, correct spelling, I am able to advertise your site to free random places every week, and I can type of course. I'm terrible with numbers, I am honest and if anything needs to be kept private, then what is done between you and me is kept between you and me. I know that doesn't qualify me for any specific good jobs, I'm just tired of trying to get one step ahead, and end up 10 steps back. My chair is broken down right now, my desktop (of which is an XP) is broken down too, but hopefully next week I can fix that situation. I bought the desktop so I can have the ease of doing something out of home. I'll be happy if payments are done via paypal. OK.. so i was drawn in by this scammer who told me he had 3 free puppies needing a good home due to his work commitments.. i had never heard of this scam.. but fowarded my details.. my name.. address.. post code.. and tel number he told me he lived in scotland and the fee to transport would be £80..(for one) i offered to pick up the puppy myself but he ignored this offer, and went on explaining the delivery service. i told him i would have the fee amount by monday the 5th july.. So i haven't yet paid any fee.. i wanted to check online.. and stumbled across this scam!! so i therefore sent this email Hello, again, Im really sorry to have to do this.. whether you are a genuine person trying to home your puppies or whether your another one part of these scams.. i am NOT willing to go ahead with homing this PUPPY, i was advised that i read up on transporting agencies.. when stumbling across this absolutly disgusting scam, of advertising free puppies.. which infact there were no puppies There are over 50 stories ive read today.. Your first email sounding very very similar, when offering to pick up this puppy myself you avoided this offer and continued to agree on transporting the pup. I am distgusted in how this can be done to people that are willing to help these animals in need of more attention and care than they are already recieveing, i too was one of them, and gullabull i may be.. i cannot risk handing money over to .. we could say.. a stranger.. My 3yr old golden retriever was recently boarded at a ranch-type facility that advertises a "cage free" environment. A week ago, I had boarded her and my 8yr old golden just for the day and when I picked them up, they said the 3 yr old had chewed through her leash. I asked why she was even on one, and they couldn't give me an answer. This past Friday, I had to board them again, and they took them without their leashes this time. When I went to pick them up, I instead received a phone call from an unknown vet that my 3yr old was comatose and had suffered a heat stroke. She spent two nights in the emergency clinic because they couldn't get her temp stabilized and her blood vessels were bursting. By a miracle of God, she's home and recovering, but her platelets are completely depleted - her body is basically starting from scratch to reproduce them. Well, today, 3 days later, I am picking up her poop and there is a ~3in piece of leash in it! Now, I ask you, is this from a week ago or is it from this past weekend? Because the ER vet said that something lodged in her airways would have triggered the stroke as well. more

People are mainly looking for big stuff like furniture and appliances that they can resell, and baby items are always popular. If u don't have those, very few people will come. The people who do come will come in carloads, and a lot will be people that you definitely wouldn't want at your house. They'll be trying to get something for nothing, and they'll ask you to lower your prices or try to get you to go inside and look for something else. (Someone did this at my garage sale.) DON'T go in and don't let anyone go in. People look for really big sales. Smaller ones are a waste of time. They can always go to Goodwill where the selection is bigger. Most people will look and not buy anything. A few will be scoping out the place to see if there's anything they can come back and steal later (like a purebred dog), or how easy it might be to break into your house. If you advertise the sale from 8 to 12, people will come at 7 and they'll keep coming long after you want them to. Unless you name big stuff in your ad that these people want, you may sit there in the heat all day and make $20 or $30. Or you may get swarms of people, and one will try to distract you while their kid or their friend wanders around to your back yard or steals something. Overall, a garage sale is a colossal waste of time, and you'll be mad at yourself later for selling something that you bought for $20 and once valued, for 50 cents. It's really better to just offer your unwanted stuff to family and friends, or give it to Goodwill (where you can take it off your income tax next year). If you really must have a garage sale, you should spend a weekend or two going to a few, so you can see what goes on and at least know how to price things. (You've got to be cheaper than Goodwill.) And you can expect to see Anna! That's what she does every weekend -- go to garage sales and try to find stuff she can take to her house and resell. In fact, you may see her (or someone like her) twice -- once early to get your "good" stuff, and later, to offer to haul off the rest for free, so she can resell it, too. Well, that's my 2 cents. OK, in 2003 my grandparents had prepared a deed, giving me their home and reserving a life estate on it for themselves at the attorney's suggestion. Last year my grandfather passed, and my grandmother was forced to go into a nursing home. Now, the state medicaid people (Indiana) are telling me that her portion of the ownership at age 87 is still considered 30%, and that that can be viewed as an asset to her for benefit purposes. Now, the entire point of them doing this in the first place was to protect the home in exactly this circumstance, and they had told the attorney as much. They had intended to will the home to me, but having had other family members face the situation of being forced to liquidate due to a nursing home, they decided to go this way and deed it to me outright beforehand - but as I said the attorney told them they should include the life estate. The person at the state office told me that we could sell or lease her portion (or advertise it at least) and that would exempt it. My question is, how exactly would that work? Would the lessor, or the buyer then own 30% of my home when she dies? Also, is this even correct that this is an asset to her? The deed prepared was a warranty deed in 2003, if there's anyone out there experienced with this issue, in Indiana, please feel free to contact me and I can provide you with a scan of the deed if that'd help.OK, the second issue is that I don't have anybody I'd trust completely, who has the ability to buy the portion at "fair market value". Has anyone else noticed how often that web-sites say "Free to Join", when the truth is the following: The only thing which is "free", about these sites, is to register. How many people have noticed that, even when a web-site has a page, which, clearly states that "Your credit card information will ONLY be used for age verification". "You will NOT be billed for this visit" Yet, when you check credit/debit card statement, you find that you HAVE been billed, from $30.00, to $100.00, by the web-site. Is it not openly deceitful, for web-sites to promote "free access", when access is not "free" at all? Shouldn't web-sites be required to change advertising to say "Visit/Tour is "free", but access will cost (how much). Shouldn't Age Verification be changed into the more truthful: "Your credit/debit card WILL be billed this amount for your visit, today"? Why do/are so many web-sites so openly in-correct, or un-truthful, about access fee's. Why do web-sites offer "free access" when, from the moment that users begin signing up, credit/debit cards ARE, immediately, billed, for this "free access"? We decided to get another dog to go with our 1 year old dog. Decided to get it in July. We saw an advert locally, "5 year old dog, housetrained, good dog, change of work circumstances means we can no longer give hime the attention he needs. Homes will be checked, free to good home. So arranged for them to come and meet our dog and us, make sure they are ok and that we like the dog, aiming that maybe they could keep the dog for us a bit longer, if not, no matter, we can wait for another. Everything was fine outside (they came to our house), the dogs were cool. Then they (owners) said they wanted a clean break and pretty much made a hasty exit, and left us with their dog and his bed and bowl and stuff. I have been advertising items that come my way on the local Freegle group. Being a qualified electrician, I check items over, clean them and offer them. The response is usually overwhelming and so I offer it to those that seem most in need. The items I offer are fridges, freezers, electric cookers, televisions etc. All perfectly good and working. Today I have stopped doing it. It simply isn't worth the effort from the no-shows. I'll ring you back brigade, can you deliver it for free crowd, fill it up at Tesco on your way. I am saving people lots of money especially those who are setting up their first homes, but they can't be bothered to collect. I run a educational theatre company and our first camp is coming up in three weeks. The problem is, we don't have anywhere near enough kids signed up for the camp! Right now we only have 4 kids signed up, and we need at least 20 to do the camp. A lot of people do sign up last minute, but at this rate, I think we'll only have 12-13. I'm maxed out on advertising ideas, I need your help desperately!! Here's what we already do: We send home flyers with kids through all the schools that will let us (which actually isn't that many, most tell us no) We are listed online in every place possible: our website, summer camp listings, classifieds, community calendars, so on We also pay for PPC ads on Google, Facebook, and Bing I've tried to find businesses to put up flyers, but there's not that many places I've been able to find with a community bulletin board (Whole foods, and a couple book stores is all I found). We're not allowed to advertise at the libraries-they advertise free events only on their boards. :( (If you happen to know of a chain business that has community bulletin boards, let me know) What can I do as a quick last minute (and inexpensive, we're a very small struggling company) to get more campers? A few days ago my little brother grabbed a flyer that was on our doorknob that was advertising a free carnival for kids set up by a Christian Church a few blocks away. He is 8 and I am 16, and I babysit him often, as well as a cousin who is 6. A few days later while driving with both of them in my car they saw the lights and stands in the church parking lot. They begged me to take them down the street to this carnival and my mom said to take them, because they were making a fuss. When we got there it looked pretty lame. They had very few games and free cotton candy and popcorn, but they enjoyed themselves, even though we were there for less than an hour. Well when I walked in there they asked me to write my name, address, and kids name on a paper so they could mail an evaluation to my home on this carnival. Well today two ladies came to the door and said that they were going to be picking up my cousin and brother for their bible study on Sunday around 11 am and to have them ready! I told them that I don't think my mom will allow that and that we are not non-denominational Christians, we just went to the event because it was free. They then said that they wanted 20 dollars, 10 for each child who attended the event, and that it was only free to families who wanted to enroll their kids in the youth program! I then mentioned that I would have never wrote their names on the paper, I was told it was for a post evaluation. Well needless to say I told the lady not to come by on Sunday, because they won't be going and I was not paying anything and closed the door. Resolved Question: Recurring places in dreams? Do you have any and what do they mean to you?

I have some "safety nets" in my dreams sometimes, when I can't wake myself up and the dream takes a bad turn. The most common one to show up when someone is chasing me and I can't escape is this lakefront I used to play at as a kid. The stones are all black and round and smooth, and beyond them is grass. The water is always calm, and there's a willow to one side, and a set of young birches to the other. Once I get there, I know I'm safe. I have a "restart" button whenever I go into a library. I stop whatever dream I'm having and start over with a new one. And the latest one is an ice cream shop, which I always use the same route to get to. Usually someone bad is trying to find me, so I start running from my home street, jump a red wooden fence that has a ravine on the other side (when someone is looking over they'd only see brambles, and not the pathway right below the fence) which cuts down and around a few corners until the place evens out at an ice cream shop. I go in, and I learn some skill or trade, and usually live there for a few weeks/months/years. Even though the sign advertises ice cream, the shop itself is always different. Last night it was a puzzle and craft store, and I learned how to make ceramic figures that looked alive. Once I mastered it, I was free to go and I could defeat whatever was chasing me. I was wondering... do any of you have these? And if so, what are they? more

This question is for those who have tryed pot !! I dont want answers form those who havent experienced it themselves. No pothead answers like , smoke it up ,weed is my life , please smart and well informed answers im taking this very seriously. Im 15 and well I go to a school and live in a society where weed is very common. People usually have a very bad perspective on those who tryed or do weed. At my age theres allot of teens smoking and are very ignorant to make such a substances something to live for. I have goals and have been bougth up in a drug free home.Im really not the type of guy that you would suspect these sort of things from, but you cant judge a book by its cover.I cant say its peer pressure because im very smart and know when to say know NO, but honestly It was me who wanted to try it and took the chance when it came by to do so. The first 2 times nothing really happend to me I was fine and didnt really aww about it I wasnt really "high", so I wanted to get the full experience strigth out of curiosity . So I went ahead and purchased it. Finaly I really got "high" and I really have to say I did enjoy it and definately it was a very pleasurable experience, if i werent to like it I would of stoped. Ive been sober for a while because ive told myself this isnt going to become a part of my life so I left it to special occasions once in a while. Ive done my research because I do not take anything especially when it alters your state of mind and not know well about it. My views on marijuana : its okay as long as its not daily use and your not reconized for your constant drug abuse. I want to be looked up to and well, things like this unfortunately make you look bad which it shouldnt in my opinion. Unless well like I said you make it a part of your life. Marijuana is life changing , Im sorry if I sound exagerrated but its true you experience a different state of mind where the sober brain doesnt quite comprehend unless your high. Resolved Question: Should I take H&R Block to court?

I had a baby in November 2009. Since my boyfriend got his W-2 before me (in January), we decided to let him claim our son and have H&R Block do his taxes so we could get a RAPID refund. The preparer didn't know what he was doing. He ended up opting him out of the Earned Income Credit (without asking), typing in 2 months for the amount of time our son was "living in the home" for 2009 and accidentally checked 'yes' for the question "Did this person make more than $3500 in 2009?". When he was all finished he told us my boyfriend's refund would be about 900 dollars. I thought something was wrong, but didn't say anything and took his word for it. We paid for the rapid loan and we were expecting to get the money on our card within 2 days. I told my mother, who has been doing my taxes for years and never made a single mistake, and she pointed out that we were, in fact, supposed to get the EIC and Child Tax Credit. She got online and printed out the Publication from the IRS's website stating that if a child was born in 2009, you put 12 months, regardless of what month they were born in. They called my boyfriend 6 days later and told him there was a hold on the card and he had to come back up there to sign a paper to take the money off hold. We went back up there and showed them the mistake they made and ask that they amend them. The manager fixed it and gave us the forms to mail out and we asked if we still had to pay the fee they charged us to do this. He stated that we still have to pay the fee because that money is going to them for filing it originally. Yet H&R Block has the "Maximum Refund Guarantee" which states that if they don't give you your maximum refund you're entitled to, the tax preparation is free. We called the headquarters and even they are refusing to give us the money back. We mailed off the amended form and we are STILL waiting to get the check in the mail. We really needed that money to get our air conditioning fixed in our only car, not to mention we have a 6 month old and its 80 degrees outside in Virginia Beach right now. My question is should I take them to court? Why should we have to pay them for something THEY screwed up? I'm really not trying to make a big deal out of this, but this is just ridiculous and not fair. In my eyes, its false advertising for them to make a promise and not live up to it. more

Voting Question: How can I break my lease? PLEASE HELP!!!?

Hi, so I want to break my lease, not because I got a better job, or because I'm sick, just because I found a better place to live. Terrible, I know. Does anyone know of a way I can get out of my lease? We've only been here 5 months, we've never been late on rent and we're in a year lease. I didn't really want to move in here, but there were no other options when we were looking for an apartment(we live in a very small town). My husband and I have 2 girls(ages 1 & 3) that share a room, but there is no bathtub, and my oldest is afraid of showering because when we first moved in, the shower would turn scalding, scalding HOT and it kept burning her. She was never afraid of showering before. I had the landlord fix it because it was WAY too hot. But still, she doesn't ever want to shower anymore. The landlord also told us about a month after we moved in that the windowsills have lead paint, and by NY law she was required to tell us about it and give us a brochure warning us of the dangers, but I'm not sure if this would get me out of the lease. My husband will be getting his son on the weekends now, but our apartment is already cramped, so it'll be so tight. This new HOUSE is four bedrooms and we will have plenty of room for everyone there. It's getting warmer now and I would like to take the kids outside, but the yard has a ton of nails and glass all over because the house burnt before and they had to remodel and fix it, but left a bunch of materials all over. This new house has a nice debri-free yard, 2 bathtubs, has WAY more room and is a home we could live in for a long time. It would be perfect and it is so hard to find an affordable, nice place to rent. So I talked to the landlord about getting out of the lease, she was really mad at first that I even asked, but then she agreed if I could find someone else to rent the apartment. I advertised it and shown it to six people, three of which were interested. I gave them her number to meet with her, but she's not making any effort to meet with them. I think it's because she doesn't want to let us go, because she said she's had bad luck with tenants and we always pay rent on time and don't cause any problems. I don't know, any ideas please? Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Seven of the eight candidates running for mayor gave their vision for the city Tuesday night. Voters filled a banquet hall in North Columbia to hear from those seeking election for mayor. As each person entered, they had a chance to write down a question of their own for the candidates. Each mayoral hopeful was given two minutes each to answer a series of those questions. Topics covered included the bus system, law enforcement, and how much power a mayor should have in office. To finish up, each candidate shared their number one priority if elected. Below you can read some of what they had to say. "I want to make sure that each one of your children and grandchildren have the same opportunities I had as a child. Our focus on our campaign is clear, we want to focus on, our priorities will be making sure we have a safe city," said Steve Benjamin. "You want safe, secure streets and homes and you want to know that your money is being spent responsibly by your city government. If you don't have those two things you don't have confidence and you don't have trust," said Steve Morrison. "Trim the budget, you know, get rid of any unnecessary items. Clean is the crime free neighborhoods, and of course that comes from funding the police department," said Sparkle Clark. "When I'm mayor of the City of Columbia, everybody will be heard, not everybody will be agreed with, and at no point will an individual "want" overwhelm a collective good," said Kirkman Finlay. "The first thing we have to do is fix the budget, period. We have no idea how much money we have, we have no idea where it's going," said Gary Myers. "My priorities are number one take care of the budget and our finances. Number two take care of our city employees. You gotta have city employees who care and want to stay here to take care of you," said Joseph Azar. "If we can have true civic involvement, and we can make people feel like their government does care about them, and does want to listen to them, I feel like that's the solution. Because right now there's not any money," said Aaron Johnson. Columbia's elections take place April 6th. Resolved Question: How do I make sure my pet goes to a good home? is it safe to rehome on craigslist?

Before anyone says I'm being selfish, unreasonable, or in any way a "bad pet owner" for wanting to rehome my pup, please read the ENTIRE question!!!!!!!! My neighbors(well, they live a few miles away but are my closest neighbors) have 4 GSDs. I have met the dogs personally several times and they are semi-friendly. They are primarily used for 1 hunting 2 guarding(property, possesions, people, etc) but they are treated averagely well. Groomed, healthy, exercised...though I can't say they get a lot of love or ATT. Recently my neighbors found a pitbull. They're one of those families who believe pitbulls were bred to maul little girls...so the dad grabbed a club and beat the dog(mildly...just hit him a couple of times) and threw a plastic cover over him and put him in a crate. They couldn't figure out what to do with the dog, so it spent like two days outside in a crate. It was soaked with rain/snow/slush, it was outside during blizzards, it was not given food or drink for those two days. My neighbors don't abuse their own dogs at all. They're very humane and always make sure their dogs are inside @ night and have shelter during the outside hours. However they believe that bully breeds like pitbulls should all be euthanized and never touched again. I was driving by and i saw this ltitle ball of wet white fur and I was like ??? So i went in and said hey and asked if they got a new dog and they explained everything. So I told them my dog wanted some company, so I would take theirs. i'm not looking for another dog. I just wanted to get it some food, water, shelter, etc. So I took it home and it was extremely vicious towards my dog. My parents love my dog(also a pitbull) though so I just let them take care for awhile. I spent close to three months with this dog, who is now around 8 months old. She's trained to sit, stay, lay, get off, jump, roll over, sit pretty, dance, and speak. She's housetrained and kennel trained, I set an apt to get her spayed in what I think it's three days now?. She's in perfect health the vet says, despite the fact that it took a month to fully recover from her pre-domesticated days(when she was a random stray). She's been socialized with cats, people, and small dogs(though dogs her own size are larger she is extremely skeptical of) But... the thing is, my parents are leaving to Florida on Sunday for three weeks and I will have to take my dog back. Quirk(what I call the new pitbull) is afraid of dogs her own size and will attack them. So I guess now is as good a time as any to find her her new home! I would prefer her to be an only pet in a home with no young children(under 12 would be risky) with a moderately active family(meaning not someone who takes 8 mile jogs, but someone who might walk her for thirty minutes a day and play with her in the backyard or such). I have rehomed a ton of cats. But it's quite different. A lot of the people are folks I've known for years, or people that I know through various clubs for cat lovers and such. I don't typically just advertise "cats come 'n get em". The problem is...I know pit's are "big bad breeds" and I don't want to advertise "FREE PITBULL" and attract the wrong crowd. What should I do to prevent a dog fighter from showing up at my door? You heard about the guy who used his kids to look innocent. I wouldn' tbe able to tell a nicely dressed psycho path from the kindly old lady down the street, so I certainly wouldn't trust my judgement in rehoming her! Resolved Question: I had my roof reshingled and repaired about 5 years ago. I just notice...?

That my front porch has water stains on it that were not there before. I paid alot of money for the roof to be redone. I had gone through a company that advertised through Home Depot. Is there anyway I can get this fixed for free? Am I going to have to pay to have that part of the roof done? I am just so upset about it because I have an impending divorce and I will have 1 income. more
