Voting Question: How can I increase traffic to my site, for free?

I just recently started my own blog to help bring in a little extra income and I'm wondering how I can increase traffic for free, or if anybody has a website they'd let me advertise on for like $10/mo. or something. I've done a lot of research, and I know all about META tags and SEO. That's taken care of. And I don't have all kinds of money to be tossing away on AdWords. Also, I've checked out traffic exchanges and while yes, they do work, you need to either a) have money to buy traffic or b) spend hours cycling through random sites to credits. I don't mind surfing... I just don't have the time to sit around.. I do have a full-time job outside of blogging. Anyhow, if anybody could help that would be awesome! Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Any other Scorpios think Facebook, Myspace and Twitter is a joke? Which signs will likely swear by them?

I only asked because Whoopi Goldberg (fellow scorpio) diplores them! Me too! She says never no way no how to Twitter, Myspace and Facebook. I set up an account on all three about a year ago just to see what all the hype was about. Sadly I found it very difficult to remain on any of them more than 10 minutes...I found it dull, boring, and pretty useless. There were a few ladies that made mention of my "good looks", kinda flattering I must say, but this type of flattery coming from a total stranger that i cannot and have not seen? Wierd! In exchange for gathering 400 mllion people all to one place on the internet, facebook gets MEGA bucks in advertising revenue. What I found Facebook, Myspace and Twitter to be, are a bunch of advertising sights promising connections and friendships exploiting peoples fears of REAL HUMAN INTERACTION!!! Fear of getting out in the "REAL WORLD" and meeting people face to face. People can't communicate in real life and face to face anymore. Many women on Facebook, you'd require a total make over in order for me to approach you in real life. So is that the reason for the doctored up and digitally altered picure on Facebook or Myspace? Is the best you got to offer of yourself? Ashamed of how you look at this very moment?...forget about the profile pic from 5 years ago! Or maybe you are really that hard up and needy for attention? Ever been dumped? Maybe I dumbed you....I certainly don't want you finding me again years later on Facebook after I finally got rid of your sorry ass! (Once your out my life...I want you out for good!) GET MY POINT? Which brings me to the privacy factor...where is it? Does everyone have to know when you take a crap? What new shoes you purchased at the mall? Why tweet.."I'm watching TV and eating popcorn"...who cares!!!?? This day in age people are far more fit to bring you problems and drama, than to bring you a connection or close friendship. We all have problems, most people on Facebook are looking for a way out of theirs...misery loves company. So let's put 400 million miserable people on Facebook, let's make them click away and search for so called friends, and let's call it a social life...lol. It's sad because our time is precious, we don't even realize that loosing our time with irrelevant (internet based things that are virtual, not actual) things will lead us in the end to...nothing. If I said that I hate social networking websites then it's because they do not help us to improve ourselves, to evolve as humans to make us smarter than we think we are. I really think that such websites should receive less attention and should not be treated as an "important" resource by humans and by those who manage the search engines. So stop wasting your time and here is what should you do, in my opinion...GET SOME CONFIDENCE, GET OUT AND GET A LIFE....MEET PEOPLE THE OLD FASHIONED WAY! Anyone agree? Don't Care if you do or not...my mind is made up, i think all three a lame, but feel free to speak your mind....aav wrote "Usually it is used to keep in tough with old friends, new friends, fam, old schoomates." Resolved Question: Who does good makeup tutorials on Youtube?

I'm looking for a female in the US who does cosmetics tutorials on YouTube with a large subscriber base. I'm a representative for mark cosmetics and fashion (the company that Lauren Conrad is a spokesperson for). I would be interested in sending her cosmetics (as well as skincare, fashion and accessories at times) to demonstrate with on her channel. In exchange for demonstrating my wares and my company, she could keep whatever makeup and accessories I sent to her for free. I would also plug/advertise her channel to my customer base on my website, Facebook page, during my mark parties, and also in my mailings. She would not have to stop demonstrating tutorials with other makeup brands. So if anybody knows a good YouTube tutorialist or if you are one yourself, let me know. Reply with the link to the channel, contact info, or contact me yourself.. Redfallnight@yahoo.com Thank you for your time. more

Voting Question: How should I feel towards this Islamic man?

I deliver potato chips and such for a living for a local company and it is part of our job to associate with our customers. This can be a little hard at times, as my customers come from all different backgrounds... For this customer in particular, he is an Islamic man and I was new on the route...so when I had first met him and started talking with him, he had mentioned that a lot of salesman try to sell him pork products and are completely ignorant of his heritage...I mentioned that I am Jewish, and that I could completely understand where he was coming from, and knew how much that must have bothered him. A few days after that, my boss made an agreement with him to give a certain amount of free product at the beginning of every month in exchange for his advertising our product in his flyers. After two months of this, he wasn't keeping his end of the bargain by buying a certain amount, so my boss made me discontinue the deal we had made with him... At this point, he began to make comments such as..."I never should have trusted a Jew...", "I'm a Jew just like you", "Jews are like locusts", and the sort... How should I feel towards this man? I've shown him very, very little resentment and have done my best to extend the olive branch towards him, and continue to.... Thoughts?Sad and confusing, but entirely accurate I'm afraid. It's my own fault, I suppose.Fortunately, my boss is on my side...Thanks! more

Resolved Question: How can I convince companies to exchange their old BPA products for safer ones?

BPA water bottles (#7 plastics) made the headlines as being unsafe. Reputable companies such as SIGG and Nalgene (?) owned up to the mistake/were responsible and offered its customers an exchange. Then it dawned on me...what about FOOD containers? To my horror, my three sets of Rubbermaid Premier Food Containers were ALL #7, the dangerous BPA type. I've been storing and worst...HEATING my family's food in these. Their website is not offering refunds, recalls, etc. but have developed a new line that is BPA free. Have you had success with convincing a company to take back their BPA products, even when they didn't advertise an official recall or exchange? more

Resolved Question: If a potential client hires away one of my best employees, is it unethical to refuse to work with/for them?

A concert producing company that has tried to acquire free advertising in our company (local newspaper, they wanted advertising in exchange of concert tickets) just hired away one of our top employees. That company pressured him to accept the job immediately or it would be given to someone else, so I did not even get a week's notice. They offered him 60% of what I paid him, but he would have lighter hours (leave 2 hours earlier) and work more closely with music. I understand he didn't love the job he had and absolutely loves music, and I wish him well, but I suspect he's been hired to get leverage in our newsroom and get his new employer free publicity (free press releases, interviews, and such), since he is not really qualified to do the job he accepted and has no experience in the field. They just met him at a concert two weeks ago and he tells me he didn't even send a resume, he believes they just had great chemistry with him. We are good friends, but I want to let him know I don't want to accept any business from his new employer, neither press releases nor paid or free advertising. I also think the way they approached him and took him away is disrespecful and rude towards the former employer (us). Am I being unreasonable or unethical?to the_unluckiest: Thanks, I get your point about not unethical from their part. I fear if I let this former employee get free coverage I would be encouraging other companies to take away my staff to get freebies. I also fear they will fire him when they realise that he has no power to get stuff published. Any advice? more

Resolved Question: Where are the best free advertising places?

I've tried the buy one get another free, and have even offered a money back guarantee. Still there is nothing. I've done link exchanges, google ads and more. Resolved Question: Health-Magazine-Subscription Reform: Mandatory subscriptions WOULD BE CONSTITUTIONAL, right?

Constitutionally, the government has the power to "regulate interstate commerce", correct? Therefore, the government would have the right to force people to purchase health-magazine subscriptions [with content on improving diet, nutrition, health, exercise, fitness], correct? Here is the 10-point program that I propose: 1) These health-related magazine subscriptions [produced and distributed through private corporations -- thus we avoid the appearance of nationalized health care] would be made available in "public exchanges" online. 2) The magazines and their editorial policies would be thoroughly reviewed by federally-certified doctors to make sure they promote federally-approved drugs, therapies, and surgeries. 3) A primary aim of the program is to reach those people who currently lack health-magazine subscriptions. [The aim of this program is not to increase the profits of privately-owned health-magazine corporations and their corporate advertising clients.] 4) This program cannot really work efficiently unless all participate, that's why it must be a mandatory program. The price of health-magazine subscriptions has risen dramatically, because too many people are getting sick, and not enough healthy people are buying them. 5) This program would help slow the rising costs of health-magazine subscriptions, and who knows, could eventually even bring down the costs of health-magazine subscriptions. However, this program would require people to buy a scubscription at whatever the free-market prices are. [OK, perhaps technically that last bit should read be "enhanced free-market" prices.] 6) Forced buyers of low income would be federally-subsidized, and... 7) the best way to pay for this program would be to tax the people who have been the most successful. Since these people already have easy-access to health-magazine-subscriptions, they shouldn't mind helping to provide others with similar subscriptions. 8) This program would over time reduce the national deficit, because expert government accountants have done the projections, and that's what the projections show. 9) If people were forced to spend money as soon as the law were passed, they might not see the program in a balanced way -- so the forced-purchase part would only kick in about 4 years later (well beyond the next presidential election in 2012). 10) However, many of the taxes implemented by this program would kick in immediately. This reform would not be socialism or fascism, as long as constitutionally-elected and legally-lobbied representatives voted it into law. [Coming soon: Federally-mandated purchases of multiple-vitamins -- the vitamins would be produced by private corporations, under federal guidelines, of course] . more

Resolved Question: Is it right to deny an equal right to free speech to people because their OPPONENTS might get violent?

http://www.nationalpost.com/opinion/story.html?id=2620345&p=1 York University in Toronto is currently marking "Israel Apartheid Week", during which all manner of hate speech will be tolerated as long as it's sufficiently anti-Israel. As vehemently as I disagree with those who sponsor and support this attack on the only democratic nation in the Middle East, I support their right to do so, as Canada is a country in which one's freedom of speech is paramount...particularly on a college campus, where a free exchange of ideas is supposed to be especially sacred. The problem is that such freedom is apparently only extended to certain students and organizations. When the student group Christians United for Israel applied to use university space to host a program of pro-Israel speakers, a series of conditions were imposed by the university which were far in excess of those imposed on the anti-Israel people: the student group would have to pay for additional security by campus and Toronto police, their speakers had to be listed and approved, and no advertising would be permitted on campus...none of which applied to the anti-Israel people. The reason for the disparity? "A university spokesman told the Jewish Tribune that it insisted on the more stringent requirements on pro-Israel groups 'due to the participation of individuals who they claim invite the animus of anti-Israel campus agitators.'" So if supporters of Israel were to become as violent as their opponents, restrictions would be placed on those opponents as well? In what parallel universe does this make sense? What do you think of this blatant disregard for equal rights and the free exchange of ideas at one of North America's largest public universities?morris: I believe I pointed that out in my question. Maybe I should have included pictures for you.jane: In that case, why wasn't the same rationale applied to the anti-Israel people? Either the tender sensibilities of others are paramount for all, or they are for none. It can't change from case to case.locutus: Only partially correct. The courts have recently begun to roll back such egregious violations of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, as they did in vindicating Mark Steyn. more

Voting Question: Suggestions on promoting my website?

Hello, I have just finished building a website and am trying to find creative with ways to promote it. The site is for North American college students to exchange their class notes for free. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to market this type of website to college students. Ideally I am looking for free or low cost solutions, I am NOT looking for suggestions that involve formal advertising. If you would like to view the site the address is http://www.classnotez.com Any ideas and suggestions are welcome. Thank you for your time, Scott more

Resolved Question: Amendment to limit corporate political speech?

How would you word an amendment to prevent corporations from using advertising and front organizations from influencing politics without limiting the free speech of media and other public interest entities? (This is only about "corporate speech" not about contributions which is another topic.) The reason for this is that money available to corporations is limitless compared to that of public service organizations and individuals. Thus corporations can inundate the voter with their point of view to affect legislation and elections. Few voters have the resources to investigate their claims and even less have the desire to. Thus, the one with the loudest megaphone gets the message across. My example: No entity deriving funding for the sale of a product or service, sale or exchange of stock may engage in activities that support or oppose: a candidate, office holder, political party or current legislation.Sure, we could add unions but how would this be worded so as not to conflict with the first amendment. However, I present the comparison of unions to corporations in that unions get 100% of their funding from it's members who from a labor/business point of view are more homogenous then the stock holders of a corporations. The buy of congress is not new, in fact a book about it was written in 1998 and the problem is just getting worse. The latest supreme court decision is just one more nail in the coffin of democracy. more

Voting Question: I'm thinking of running an underground business-could I get away with this?

I'm a student and live in a large college town. I just inherited a cabin out in the country from my aunt. The cabin is about two miles from the nearest home and at night is not noticeable from the main road unless your looking for it. What I’m considering is opening a bar for the 18 to 20 year old college students, advertised by word of mouth direct invites. It would be run one night a week in said home. Again, due to the fact that it is far away from the nearest neighbors, barely visible from the main road at night, plus the fact that in the middle of the night, passing cars are few and far between, someone reporting the noise/party isn’t going to happen. A cop could drive by and not notice anything. I have no conscience objections, because I have a few BAC calculators and attendants would be handing over their keys at entry, getting them back when and only when their safe to drive. After looking at overhead (Cost of expenses for alcohol, dishes, heat/AC, and electricity) my projection is I can easily make 500 dollars tax free cash profit PER NIGHT. And that’s a conservative estimate. Sparing me lectures, could I get away with this? Again, think of this as an exclusive club. Atendents are able to come via direct word of mouth invitation from me ONLY, so no he said, she said, mama said about it. If I didn't invite you, you get to meet the exit door. Ergo, if some wrong person does hear about this occuring, they won't know the when, where and who. And, last but not least, if I'm caught, I can make a deal with the DA. Lets say I have a hundred plus people drinking underage weekly. I have the power to give up each and every one of them in exchange for dropped charges, and the DA will take my offer. Huge crackdown on underage drinking plus DA's name in the paper can only help him, especially in an election year. So, your thoughts? more

Resolved Question: Can you please help the ASPCA,(LITERALLY ONE SECOND!!!!!)?

Hi, all you animal lovers! This is pretty simple... Please ask ten friends to each ask a further ten today! The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily so they can meet their quota of getting FREE FOOD donated every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes less than a minute (about 15 seconds) to go to their site and click on the purple box 'fund food for animals for free'. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising. Here's the web site! Please pass it along to people you know. http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/ Help spread the word, copy and paste this to your email, send this to your friends. Spread the word, it's so easy to do, so please help out, ok. Make sure to come to this website every day ( I think you can only do it once a day) for as often as you can. more

Resolved Question: Currys UK, can I take my product back to ANY currys store? or the exact one I bought it from?

Hi, I bought a camcorder from a currys in my local town (nightmare to park! costs a fortune), which is soon shutting down. I only bought it from there because the other currys in my town (in an industrial estate with free parking/easy access) didn't have what I wanted in stock. I bought it last weekend, can I take it back to ANY currys store, or does it have to be taken back to the exact store I bought it from? I have already phoned the customer service phone line, and as usual no one seems to know their own job anymore. It's got a dead/stuck/hot pixel, and I am NOT happy. I was NOT made aware of this when purchasing it, and it says nothing about it in the manual. Also under the 'The Sale of Goods Act 1979' that products bought should be: As described - refers to any advert or verbal description made by the trader. Satisfactory quality - covers minor and cosmetic defects as well as substantial problems. It also means that products must last a reasonable time. But it doesn't give you any rights if a fault was obvious or pointed out to you at point of sale. I was NOT made aware at time of purchase that camcorders often have a pixel problem, so I see this as false advertising and I want my money back, if camcorders are known to have a pixel or two missing/stuck then why was I not told this at time of purchase. (I put all this extra crap info in because I know there is always some smart bum who will go on about it, even though that wasn't the original question!). Thank you. PS, the reviews online for currys are pretty poor, most people saying they refuse to refund/exchange even though it states on the back of the receipt: If the product is faulty within the first 28 days you are entitled to a refund or exchange. If a fault occurs any time after that period, you are entitled to have the product repaired.Hi, thank you both for your replies so far. bouncer bobtail, you said 'Curry's will repackage it and sell it as new to some other poor sap.' and it's funny you should say that. Because went into the shop to get it for me, I noticed once she got in the car that there was no seal on the box at all, I always thought electrical goods were sealed? So now I am wondering if someone had already had it/tampered with it before me! I am going back to Currys tomorrow with my mum. My mum tried taking it back to the original store today, and the ignorant bloke refused there was a dead/hot/stuck pixel and refused to refund, he made my mum feel so small she had to leave the shop. more

Voting Question: Are Liberals or Conservatives more Pro-Freedom and Liberty?

I want to live in a country where I can say what I want, be what I want, , be free to practice any religion I want....I want to be able to marry anyone I want, I want to be able to adopt kids whether I'm gay or straight, I believe people should be free to wear whatever clothes they want People should be free to be anyone and anything they want I WANT FREEDOM! But in order for people to pursue their dreams their needs to be facilitations that enable for equal opportunity such as: 1) Quality education regardless of wealth status 2) Same with healthcare 3) Same with labor conditions and worker wages 4) Same with Environmental standards 5) Same with a national defense 6) A Justice system to establish justice 7) A Social Security Safety Net 8) A Security and Exchange Commission 9) A Federal Reserve 10) A State Department 11) A Nuclear Regulatory Commission 12) A Space Administration to advance us technologically 13) A National Science Foundation 14) A Department of the Treasury 15) A Department of Transportation to repair roads 16) A Food and Drug Administration so I can't die from an over-the-counter medicine and you see the list goes on and on. I want FREEDOM, but I want to live in a country where I can trust that what I see around me is indeed what is being advertised. I want to know if I engage in an entreprenuerial venture, that I will live through it because i won't be bankrupt if I get ill. I want a decent system of Government that can fascilitate all that freedom. It's because I want the freedom to last and last and last that I know Government performs a critical and necessary role and without Government, there wouldn't be a United States of America. Should I be a Liberal or a Conservative?Liberals have fascilitated Freedom to be experienced among a more diverse segment of America..... Conservatives leave it to individuals to find their freedom the long and hard way, which has greater reward, but since most do not find that risk/return, the Liberal course leads to greater levels of happiness. You don't believe me, look at the happiest cities on earth. They are not in the US. They are Amsterdam, Rio de Janeiro, Barcelona, Sydney. These countries are tad bit more socialistic (yes it's less potential per individual, more ACTUAL happy results. more

Resolved Question: What is so hard about accepting a FREE gift of salvation from the Lord Jesus Christ?

If this gift truly required nothing as the claim says, then you wouldn't have to accept it to be saved. This line of reasoning is used repeatedly by those trolling for converts in schools, offices, on TV, and just about anywhere else you find an aggressive member of the cult of Jesus. It's the same nonsense that is spewed and taught in Bible study classrooms in most churches. It sounds wonderful doesn't it? Everybody loves free gifts. The problem is that the gift of salvation as taught in the Bible is anything but free. It first requires that you perform a work. That work is believing Jesus is your Savior and that only he can serve as your intermediary with God. Of course it also means that you accept all the baggage that goes along with that. It means you accept as truth that this "God" will punish people for the "sin" of disbelief(Mark 16:16, John 3:18, John 3:36, Heb 3:12, 1 John 2:22), it requires that you worship a God who will provide infinite punishment for finite sins, and it requires that you accept a God with the behavior of a rather manipulative, power hungry, petty tyrant. It means you must abandon your mind to save your soul. You must confess Jesus is your Lord and worship him as such. That act is a "work" in itself. Faith is also a work. Make no mistake concerning the actual nature of this so-called "free" gift. Salvation is exchanged for worship and it's nothing more than a holy barter system where you say the magic words and you are saved. On the surface it's cheap, easy, and painless. It appeals to anyone who doesn't want to be burdened with thinking for themselves, but it's in no sense "free". This form of holy fire insurance is nothing more than false advertising and should be treated with the same regard one would have when he opens a box of Cracker Jacks and digs out the cheap trinket that came as a "free" gift when you purchased the box it came in. what do you guys think? more

Resolved Question: helping a friend setle into france...?

hello, my best mate and I have just moved to Paris for our year abroad and i think she's finding it a bit hard to settle in to everything and a little dificult meeting new people to speak french with, so I'm trying to think of something / some things to do to help her settle in a bit better, like activities and tings that may help, but am struggling a little, so was wondering whether or not anyone can suggest anything that may help. This is also kin of related - back home in most supermarkets you can advertise things (normally for free / a small charge) so I was thinking as a start to try and adert up for a language exchange (i.e. meet up and speak on the net taking it in turns to speak english / french...) is there anywhere we can do this? can anyone suggest anything that may help, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks rhod x more

Resolved Question: Made a huge mistake, should I feel bad?

My husband and I are offering free room and board and free utilities and use of our 2nd car in exchange for child care help which is not set hours but just being around during the day to help me if needed. We advertised our studio and found a girl but currently my mom decided she wants to stay in the studio and now we have to call the girl and tell her that my mom is going to stay in the studio but she can use the two extra rooms in our main house and have her own bathroom. I really feel bad that I have to tell her it's different then what we already talked about. What should I do? My husband says we are offering so much that she should still be happy. She gets two nice rooms to use in our main house instead of the studio which is about the size of one of the bedrooms just with an outside entrance. But I still feel like it will look to her like a switch and bad kinda thing. Reason my mom needs to stay in the studio is she goes to bed early and our sons crying may wake her up and she has insomnia. The girl goes to bed late and is a heavy sleeper. I just should never have offered the studio in my ad until I was 100% sure that it was not a problem for my mom. more

Resolved Question: Are there online communities that help eachother with free gift referrals?

So I was just looking at those free gift advertising things where you fill out one offer, and then refer 10 friends and if they complete one offer, you get whatever the gift is (http://www.freeiphone3gs.org/?referral=1sdpl3y is my referral link if anyone wants to help). I figure though, there must be some communities dedicated to exchanging these links, filling the offers out (free or very cheap of course), and helping get those referrals in. Resolved Question: I'm in sales and haven't had trouble selling until now, maybe because it's different. HELP! WHAT CAN I DO?

I need some good tips for direct selling.? Hi, I started selling AVON as a second job about four days ago. I have been passing out most of the books that were given to me by my leader ( she gave me over 50 to start with and I only have eight left, other than the one I have kept for myself. ) and I only got one order so far for over $20. I'm bummed because half of the books went to people who are friends or know me through my fiance'-yet I'm not getting more orders yet. I work with a small group and only two co-worker's are female, and one of them has a daughter who sells AVON, so, so much for that. I only have a few close girlfriends, maybe four who will buy sooner or later, but one recently had an emergency with their home being badly damaged, (floors and roof) and another just had a family member go into surgery for something serious the other day, and another is a single mom but loves AVON but probably can't afford much. Yeah.....talking about beginners luck....NOT! I can't ask, and won't try to sell to my friends during rough times, at least not until their circumstances change for the better. Ok, so I need some serious tips to sell to strangers or people I come in contact with regularly - at places of business, but yet I don't know them well, other than chatting with them briefly, here and there. My DSM who signed me up has been an AVON rep for 32 years and it's her full time career and has been for years, and I will talk with her more at a meeting she invited me to this week. I have been in sales since high school. I sold cars and quit so that I could go to college, and then I went into selling advertising - which has worked out well for me, so why such a slow start with AVON? I would think that it would be fairly easy to sell, considering many of the items are affordable and are in the same price range as products at Target, Walmart, Penney's, etc; not to mention I love certain AVON products myself, particularly the SSS, bubble bath, hand creams, and lipstick. AND.... the point is - is you're helping out the little guy, not just a big corporation.... you're helping out the student, the single mom, the teacher who needs a little extra income.......well, you get the picture. I have not set my goals too high, because I just wanted to make a few hundred dollars extra per month, and if I can make more, GREAT! I realize I didn't start out with alot of brochures, and I will have to order plenty of them with some samples to increase my business, but I think the main thing I am looking for is tips to increase sales with people I've just met or haven't met. I have left some brochures at businesses, and obviously you cant' just rely on family, that's silly. What about going to a new nail salon that just opened and offering them free advertising by exposing their business on my flyers, which I would be paying for anyway - in exchange for referrals and letting me leave brochures and business cards there? Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated! more

Resolved Question: Who would like to invest in New Zealand?

I would like to start off by saying that this proposed website has absolutely no competition. There is one other site that barely scratches the surface of my proposal, but is not user friendly nor is it in depth. My attempts to use it was so annoying (and irrelevant) that I gave up and I could not see any benefits whatsoever to any subscribers or users. We are looking for an investor, or someone who would like to invest in a website business. This investor may have IT skills to build the site, or maybe someone with a cash flow to get it up and running. I had advertised on a geek forum to try and locate a whiz with websites to no avail. I would prefer a New Zealand investor for the simple fact I want to build a working relationship with that person. Basic run down of my proposal. There are approx one thousand companies that this site is directed at. They will become users that log on to the site with their own user account. This login allows them to upload photo’s and txt. The next point is members (general public) join. This is a free site. Most members have a search capability only and limits visits to the site. However, some will insist on becoming paying members. This allows them to upload a photo and txt and have unlimited visits. The results of the members search, that information is directed to the user whom listed the query. This site has nothing what so ever to do with soliciting for clients, selling products, advertising products (although users can advertise) or a chat room type site, yet this site will attract many companies by the need of the service. It will become a tool in which they will all want to use on a regular basis and will become part of the routine. This is something unique and they will wonder why it has not been made available before. Income from the site comes from users listing fees, members fees and advertising revenue. User listings Type One cost $14.95 each. User listings Type Two cost $6.95. Membership (general public) is $19.95 and entitles them to one query. The beautiful thing about paying for a query listing is that it is an investment, it would slash losses off the bottom line for the users. This is a win plus for users and members. (Members also gain hard cash incentives that is not paid by our site) I predict 20 users listing Type One an average of 100 queries per month. $29,900.00 monthly. 200 users listing Type Two 5 queries per month $6950.00 per month 800 users Type One and Two queries 2 per month $16,000 per month Private members subscribing around 100 per month $2000.00 The first 2 months I predict we can get enough users on board producing an income of $13,000.00 for the two month period. The success of the site will promote itself. I foresee that the site could generate $55,000.00 per month after 12 months with massive potential for growth. There is no problem why this can not be introduced to Australia and beyond using our system. I will not beat around the bush, unless of course it is letting on about details of the website. I have come up with an awesome idea and have put the working model on paper. I have no way of financing the project, yet I have the time to do the footwork and market the site. I would need $5000 - $10,000 to get this into a marketable stage in exchange for a percentage of the company. Contact jomcl1@gmail.com for further information more

Resolved Question: Should the New York Times be considered a credible source considering its abysmal record?

http://fee.org/articles/not-so-fast/totalitarian-times/ In 1932 the western world was in crisis, as the capitalist economies were shrinking rapidly while the Great Depression spread misery and hopelessness. According to the intellectuals, however, there was one shining beacon, one place that provided hope: the Soviet Union under the “enlightened” leadership of Josef Stalin. Stalin, the intellectuals claimed, had created a country and an economy that was impervious to the internal collapses that were endemic to capitalism, an economy that provided jobs and food for everyone. However, there were nasty rumors from the Land of Plenty that there was famine in Ukraine. One influential newspaper, however, openly and authoritatively denied there was any famine at all. This was the “Newspaper of Record,” the most important newspaper in the United States and perhaps the world. The newspaper was the New York Times, and it said there was no famine and that any reports to the contrary were lies from Trotskyites and disgruntled capitalists. Later that decade, Stalin proceeded with his now-infamous “show trials” in which he claimed that a number of the original Bolsheviks that put him into power actually had plotted with Leon Trotsky to overthrow the “Man of Steel” and re-impose capitalism. While some people expressed doubts, the New York Times, led by its man in Moscow, Walter Duranty, insisted that Stalin had uncovered massive plots against him. We now know that the “Newspaper of Record” engaged in suppression of the truth, and the man most responsible, Duranty, still has his picture hanging in the lobby of the Times building as one of the paper’s many winners of the prestigious Pulitzer Prize. That his stories were lies apparently does not bother either the Times management or the committee that hands out the prizes. When the Hitler regime was slaughtering Jews in Europe, the Times also suppressed or played down those reports. The reason, according to the publisher, was that the paper did not want to be seen overly emphasizing “Jewish causes.” I make these points because the Times recently championed the legislation placing tobacco products under the regulation of the Food and Drug Administration, and the editorial praising the government had a number of howlers, but none bigger than this statement: It has now been proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that cigarette makers have spent decades making false statements, suppressing evidence of harm, and manipulating the design of cigarettes to increase their addictiveness. I cannot recall any time in the near-56 years of my life in which I have not been told in the media and elsewhere that tobacco can cause cancer. Yes, tobacco executives wanted Americans to have a different picture of smoking than the cancer ward, but in a country with a free press, the word was spread far and wide. The idea that the tobacco industry could keep health information out of the news is laughable, given the unrelenting hostility to the industry, which has been forbidden by law to advertise on television for the past 40 years. There is a huge difference between executives making claims and “suppressing the news.” But there’s more. The editorial also said: The bill is not perfect. It will not allow the F.D.A. to ban cigarettes or nicotine — a concession made years ago to avoid drawing intense opposition from smokers and free-market advocates. Yes, we have the newspaper that was against prohibition of alcohol now endorsing prohibition against tobacco, and blaming “free-market advocates” for that omission of even more government control of our lives. So, the newspaper that actively suppressed news of millions of people in Europe being slaughtered by totalitarian governments now blames individuals who believe the authorities should not be interfering with peaceful private exchange for keeping a “perfect bill” off the books. And that “perfect” bill would impose yet another round of prohibition and all the destructiveness we know it would bring. The Newspaper of Duranty, Jayson Blair, and the most skewed and dishonest coverage in the country of the infamous Duke lacrosse case now declares prohibition to be “perfect.” Even for the totalitarian Times, this is a new low. more

Resolved Question: Is the CIEE a legitimate travel organization?

Resolved Question: Is it illegal to advertise a property as chain free when there is a chain?

We had an offer accepted on a house that we fell in love with. We went higher than we wanted to because of how great the house was, but also because it was advertised as chain free. Our buyers are cash buyers so we thought it should all be very straight forward. The home we are buying is a part-exchange home. The people in it at the minute are moving to another part-ex home, and those people are currently living in rented accomodation down south waiting for their new home. We discovered yesterday after suddenly being told that it might be September before completion (having previously been told July or August at latest) that the new home company (Redrow) have not actually exchanged contracts or completed with ANY of the other owners, meaning that actually there is an onward chain. The people in the house we are moving into have threatened to pull out several times over the last few months because Redrow keep stalling. Redrow have now told us we have to pay them £250 to secure the house (um - hello, that normally only applies for new houses!) and that if we don't exchange contracts on or before the 26th June THEY will pull out and re-market the property (in the meantime having cost us a lot of money). Anyway - should this end up falling through because they can't sort out this chain, would we have grounds to sue them for our costs as they advertised (with 3 different agents) that the property was chain free (and it clearly wasn't)? Many thanks for your help and advice! Chelle PS The home that is empty - the people moved out over a year ago and we have been told that the new roof isn't even on their new home yet. We are concerned that Redrow aren't going to get this house finished. more

Resolved Question: If Limbaugh and Beck shows weren't given away for free would they still be famous?

Here's how a barter deal works: To launch the show, Limbaugh's syndicator, Premiere Radio Networks -- the same folks who syndicate Glen Beck -- gave Limbaugh's three hours away -- that's right, no cash -- to local radio stations, mostly in medium and smaller markets, back in the early 1990's. So, a local talk station got Rush's show for zilch. In exchange, Premiere took for itself much of the local station's available advertising time (roughly 15 minutes an hour) and packed the show with national ads it had already pre-sold. Think Gold Bond Medicated Powder. It's a very sweet deal for local radio station owners, explained Bill Exline a respected radio broker (he helped people buy and sell local stations). "Not only does the local station get three hours of free programming," Exline explained, "but that's one less local talk-show host on staff they need. It makes small- and medium-market radio properties more profitable and attractive by cutting down staff expenses." If stations had to pay, would they? more

Resolved Question: Who knows exactly why I am being persecuted so hard by the british authorities and now by the public?

Well I now do. Let me tell the secret. The British police have wrongfully arrested me on a number of occaisions. They have imprisoned me wrongfully on a number of occaisions. I have hadf a case overturned on appeal and the Euopean court of human rights has a protocol that I MUST be compensated but guess what. A six month time limit exsists. So I can be prosecuted wether rightly or wrongfully Six years after the commission of alleged offences but They are immune after only SIX months. So I have no choice really but to air my views and make my thoughts public via this site? I have a criminal past as do many. The dark years of youth before one has grown in the mind takes its toll on many. this is cos the police actively prosecute the young cos the young have no idea that they are the sugject of Psychological warfair. They do this to top up their system of conflict ensuring a ready resevior of humanity to feed off and darw pay from. Also to employ the otherwise unemployable i.e. Those out of the forces the sycaphant Yes men. those that only know how to do as they are told. There is a better way. By setting good example by role modelling and showing care and capacity for understanding. but this takes some depth of character and this army od aggressives are short on that. The dynamics are in flux as the responsibility is being handed more onto the public. a little late and a little missinformed public but better late than never. Twenty new prisons builmt in the years prior to 9/11 well how co-incidental is that? Its an industry that serves many purposes but is it actually serving the public well. Is it in their best interests or rather the security services. Bare in mind that the prisons became privatised? Also in mind that the biggest growth industry in Iraque is the Americal Rumsveld security services. Could this be a government conspiracy, or worse? 3,000 lives is a real good deal compared to a full on war, when you consider the advancements made. All conflict brings about progression in many differing areas? A couple quarrels the next love liason is more intense and brings about better understanding. If one is an econominist, in cold monetary terms the death of many brings about revenues in many areas, growth in Chemical, drug, engineering , arnemants and science. Employing thousands. Hitler had 7,000000 unemployed in Germany when he came to power. How did he turn that around? Well financial backing was the only answer and where did the money come from, well bankers of course. Wars are sound banking investments. Where and how were the banks repaid? Well, in exchange for nutrality, is one way, Gold Teeth and Art treasures another. there is so much of this in Switzerland that they are still finding it in forgotten caves under mountains. Co-incidentally, Sir Eward Heath would denounce this conspiracy theory as all a lot of nonsense of course but is it? He is a Conservative??? What do you do with mans aggression , what do you do with the workforce when there is no work? So a Parasitical conflict system accomadates. Who gets shafted? Well look at the U.S.of A. Marines are the advertised glory seekers they pay the price on the front for the intelligencia militery in the rear? Who are the Marines, well a lot of Black colour is to be found as is a lot of N.Y. ghetto otherwise, no hopers? The rich, the intelligencia, the enlightened all benifit whilst we less able get the shaft? I am going to get back to me in a minute via another question. Lets hope that even though this subject matter is about psychology and that it is a E.C.H.R. protocol that I am free to express myself in any peaceful way that I choose, and that i will post it in the Psychology section lets see how long it stays there for?????? more

Resolved Question: Solid business idea? Would this work?

I am thinking of trying out an idea for a small business and I am curious as to what people think. My idea is to advertise 29.99 oil changes where we come to you. The 29.99 fee would be all inclusive, covering cost of the oil, filter, labor and cleanup / disposal. Any special oils, additives, etc would be extra. The oil change would be done in your home driveway or where you park at work. It could be done while you work or even while you sleep. If the hood is left unlatched, then I don't even have to exchange the key, and people can be sure the things in their car are safe and secure. I would provide a no mess guarantee, no mess or your next one is free, or this change done for only cost. Any thoughts? more
