I am a recruiter for a work from home telemarketing company and have been trying different free resources online to post the job opening. I thought it would be very easy due to the fact of so many people looking for work. I have tried backpage,kijjiji, and several other free classified ads. I never had any interest or time for social networking sites until I found out that I can use them to market my small business. A friend set up a Facebook page under my name (not my business name) a couple of years ago, but I never used it. In the last week I set up a Twitter account in my business name (I don't want to give out my personal or business name here - these are general questions so it's not necessary to check them out to answer) and started posting classified ads on Oodle which I then published to Facebook and Twitter. I was happy with the results until . . . I started getting requests from friends and acquaintances to be my "friends on Facebook. I knew that the more "friends" you have, the more the word gets about your business and the more validation and importance you have on Facebook. I accepted most of the friend requests and sent out several of my own to family members and friends. Unfortunately, I "friended" a long-time friend who is retired, has a large bank account, and has a lot of time to post multiple long entries, photographs and videos on his Facebook page regarding his travels, political interests, and miscellaneous random thoughts. My Facebook page is now overrun with his entries and my ads are getting lost among them. Also, most of the family members I friended are in their 20's to mid-30's and are writing cute entries on their pages with the latest slang expressions describing music fests, job searches, wishes and hopes, etc. Needless to say, my page doesn't look very professional now. I had no idea that entries my "friends" made on their own pages would show up on my page. "Defriending" these people is not an option. I think I have figured out a fix. I can set up another page under my Facebook account in my business name; I want to do this correctly, so here are my questions: 1. A competitor has a facebook page under his own name and it has just his personal interests, activities, education, etc., -- he doesn't make any entries. He has 13 friends and no posts are showing up from their Facebook pages. I'm thinking the reason for this is that he specified that his Facebook page is a business page. I know a different set of rules applies to business pages. Or maybe other people's Facebook entries don't show up until you start making your own entries. What I want is a page that showcases my business and my classified ads and allows me to have "friends," but does not show posts that "friends" write on their Facebook pages. It may not be possible, but I would also like to deactivate the "Comments" feature that is under each ad to prevent my site from being "vandalized" by jerks or unhappy clients (unfortunately, sometimes I do business with someone who has unreasonable expectations -- most of my clients are very happy and become repeat customers) posting negative comments about the products I sell. I have an older male boxer who is desperately in need of a good home. His previous owner was extremely neglectful and abusive. He was near death when I rescued him...He had no hair, and was extremely emaciated. He was so badly emaciated he was found eating rocks to survive, so he barely has any teeth! He has all his hair back now, and is gaining weight but slowly. I can't afford to keep him, and the shelters in my area are full. If I take him to the city pound he will be euthanized. If I offer him for free in my area I am afraid he will be used for cruel purposes such as dog-fighting. I've placed several classified ads for him, but have had no luck. Ok, basically a guy sold me a guitar through a classified ad. He sent me the guitar straight away, but I failed to pay. Anyway after trying to arrange payment, I couldn't afford it due to personal reasons, so I plan to return the guitar. I am classified as 100% poverty. I have only Social Security, am 63, on Survivors. I have no Food Stamps. I have less than $16,000 a year income. The cost of living here is very high. SS payments are a little higher here and in CA than in other places due to the high cost of living. I did not know that when I moved here. The high cost of living eats this up. I hate taking charity from food banks and hate food stamps. I did not move here due the pfd or the ss increase. The PFD was a perk but not a motive..Mine was taken from me when I could not pay my bills and could not get work. It was taken when I visited a church near the lawyer who took my PFD. I donated fifty dollars to the church. I will never give another cent to that denomination and it did not imply anything. Although I explained to the court that I could not get work when I was told I would be able to do so, , then I got down sick, and not able to work, have not enough to live on to meet my expenses for a healthy life style (I borrow money often to buy groceries and pay my medical bills, etc. Forget seeing a doctor.) they took myPFD any way. It would amount to about $100 a month. I have nothing but Social Security. I get a small amt of the pfd, very small, very. There is a reduced fee clinic; however after I pay the initial fee, the labs and the meds, xrays, etc., are extra. It saves nothing. They will only address one health issue at a time and I have many: Spastic colon, probably ulcers,stress, gall bladder, gerd, eye injury, need glasses, numb toes, cannot perspire, severe pain all below my waist , ad nauseum. I could not afford the meds I was prescribed lst time I went. I cannot get out of the apartment without someone stealing from me, comes in and steals, has a key. It makes me crazy. I must rush and rush to get back here, drives me insane. Steal food, steal sentimental things, have been concentrating on things my daughter gave me. My things have sentimental value to me, all of them. What I have left , what they did not steal from me outside of this state, rip off, get for nothing....much of which was expensive and which I paid hard earned cash from my paycheck and savings....the rest I had paid at least part of...they stole from me for little of nothing...criminals ran me out of my home competing for jobs.I have no intention of returning. I am not making out a will. Why? I have nothing. If I had something, I would get it now. I like money, things, I am the one with the cause for lawsuits. I also will not marry due to this. I have been denied legal assistance my entire life when others would be filthy rich. I have no , absolutely no, intention of marrying. None. Not until I am a free person with choice in my life and there will be prenuptuals. Many. I always ate a healthy diet, exercised, went to the gym, or biked and walked, sometimes all. I did smoke off and on due to breathing second hand smoke on the job causing me to want to smoke at home. I also had a lifetime membership in Weight Watchers, which helped me to be healthy, and which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was the best program I ever used to be healthy. I do not like being overweight at all, and it helps nothing whatsoever. Yet. I do not care. Why. I cannot go much of any where. I cannot visit churches and I am not wanted. I will not go to the one I was in. I cede them nothing but lawsuits. I eat because it fills my emptiness. I have music. I like the taste of food. When I have food , I eat. When I don't, I don't. Working kills me too. I am not depressed. I am a violated, abused battered female who has never had rights. They will persecute my husband and my son who were not the problem.Take my money for them, or vice versa. He is dead. I worked for the Deparment of Family Services for six years. I was battered four times due to that by strangers.No more of that. Back to poverty. I worked in health care, went to college for years, honors. I worked in health care, then back to poverty due to my extreme old age, I guess. LOL. I am in poverty. I am ill. I am not going to try to work again. I prefer death. I cannot take any more of it. I never was a very tough person. I am a female. Each toughening up I have had has left me with more severe insomnia and bloody nightmares. It is not worth it. After mydivorce in a criminal community, I ended up in the direst poverty although I had graduated from college with honors. I was not allowed to work in my profession, my divorce was prearranged. I did not know that. It was all set up, waiting. I came out with nothing but a student loan and my daughter. My son enlisted to work. That was not, those things, were not our plans. This has caused me no amount of problems in feelings of insecurity, fear, worry, which will not go away. Distrust of the system is a way of life. I am not a criminal, have no personality disorder of any sort. My major crime is being female, and very much alone but for my children. more

I was hired years ago to be a writer for this newspaper - fine, that's great - that's what I went to college for. They got me into proof reading and put me on the editorial staff. I like to read and enjoy putting the paper together. Last year, however, a girl from the classified department quit unexpectedly and my boss/manager put in me in that department as well and I am really - sorry to say - stupid when it comes to that department! I have to know how ads are being charged and how to do billing etc... I do NOT have a union or anything to back up what I was hired for, but I do get extra hours because I'm helping with other departments. The problem is, I'm great with writing and editorial, but I make LOADS of mistakes in with ads since it's just so confusing and overwhelming to me and isn't the field I want to be in. Hi there Does anyone know of any sites that are inexpensive (or free) to advertise on but that still get a decent amount of traffic? I'm a dressmaker/designer/pattern cutter, and used to advertise on gumtree, but they have recently begun to charge for this. I don't even mind paying as it's only £5 for an ad, which lasts at least a month I think, but I've heard and read so many bad things about people who've lost lots of money and been ripped off after placing paid gumtree ads, that I'm reluctant to do this. I've tried sites like craiglist and other classified ad sites, but they don't get anywhere near the sort of traffic gumtree does. Any suggestions appreciated. more

Resolved Question: Why do people turn up their noses at Pacing Standardbreds?

I have had this question for a while, a lot of people look down upon Standardbreds in general even though they are supposed to have very gentle temperaments most of the time and are easy to train, not to mention athletic. Why?? But I really don't understand why in classified ads people have to say: "She's a pacer BUT Pacing is very smooth on her." In riding horse ads, don't a lot of people *like* gaited horses like Rocky Mountains and Paso Finos because they have smooth gaits yet most people raise their eyebrows when you say your riding a standardbred? I've never ridden a Standardbred so I'm not exactly sure if there is a valid reason for it? But my dad and his friends part own some Standardbred racehorses and they might let me take one of their umm.. "failed horses" lol and bring it back to our farm to work with teaching her to be a riding horse. (I don't want any of that, you need a professional trainer stuff please. If I need help I do have a trainer who can put time on her who used to train racing Standardbreds. And if things don't work i'll just keep her as a companion for my riding mare. more

Recently YouTube has been running extremely slowly, (If you're going to talk crap and automatically assume it is my internet connection, just please take your fingers off the keyboard) Anyway, it seems as if it is certain videos and not really any in particular, some run better then others, some are extremely slow. It varies so much that it is impossible to classify why they are running slower then others. (I have Ad-block Plus which blocks Ad's, so the ads aren't doing it) But it's weird because, I could watch a whole Vevo Music video without it lagging, which has HQ even without HQ selected (Even in 380P and SD) but then I'll just watch a SD Simple direct webcam upload type video and it'll be loading every second or cause my whole Firefox to lag. What could be causing this, and why? Is it something besides the internet or YouTube? (I don't have any viruses I just recently swiped my computer clean, and I have very little files on my computer being used) more

Each year since 1969, Congress has spent more money than its income. The Treasury Department has to borrow money to meet Congress's appropriations. Everytuime we dont have money to pay back we borrow with higher interest rates. Now companies can give politicians money for their campignes, with possibility of foreign fairs as well. So now you know the situation with our leaders. Maybe you can understand why i push for equality for myself. I protest and volunteer with HRC campaignes to raisew money to support LGBT rights. Its funny becuase were are trying to raise money for the appeal of the rest of dadt. And the subject about the the new contreversial issue came up while discussing donations with 3 hetero personels with loud mouths. If you do not want to donate then DONT but lets get this straight.
