I recently found a classified ad on the computer for a Ford Expedition by the owner. The ad headline says $1 and there is no mention in the ad about any different price or any mention of OBO, although many vehicle specifics are listed. The KBB is much higher based on the info given and the person probably didn't intend for it to read like that, but it is an offer in writing. On this site, the person placing the ad types, previews, and lists their own ad (they do not submit it to the company/website and someone else types the ad up) and they can go back and edit the ad later. This ad has been up for almost a week for $1. Can I call the number, go see the person, and demand that they sell it for that $1? Thank you. more

Victim's family elated after Secret Witness tip leads to slaying arrest By Jaclyn O'Malley • jomalley@rgj.com • January 29, 2010 The arrest of a man charged in connection with the 2008 shooting death of 20-year-old Bryan Coursey has given his family hope that the other suspect also will be captured. Coursey's sister, Bobbi Vesco, his father Wally Coursey and grandfather, Pete Coursey, said the Jan. 4 arrest of suspected illegal immigrant Arnulfo Carillo, 35, on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder is proof that Secret Witness works. "I was afraid they wouldn't make any arrests until after I passed away," Pete Coursey said. "Sometimes, they are never caught. I am just elated, and I think Secret Witness is a great outfit. You can rat on someone and get away with it because it's all anonymous." The local organization takes anonymous tips through its hot line and Web site, passes them on to law enforcement and pays rewards for information leading to arrests and prosecutions. The Coursey family raised $11,500, and Secret Witness is offering a $2,500 reward. Vesco said the tipster is collecting the Secret Witness reward. Because this tipster declined to accept the Coursey family's reward, Vesco said there remains $14,000 offered for information leading to the arrest of the remaining suspect, Cesar Garcia, 25, whose whereabouts are unknown. He is charged on a warrant with conspiracy to commit murder. The family is hoping someone will be tempted by the $14,000 to provide information about Garcia. "I am so happy," Wally Coursey said of the arrest. "A year and a half seems like forever, but some families wait forever. I know in my heart, we will catch the other guy. It's in God's hands now." Bryan Coursey died 17 days after he was shot in the head June 15, 2008, as he and some friends stood outside Diamond Dolls club, 310 Spokane St. A group of men in the club were ordered to leave following an altercation that spilled into the parking lot. Bryan Coursey was not involved in the dispute and had never been inside the club. Vesco said it was surreal when she received a call Jan. 5 from a Reno police detective about the break in the case. She was told Carillo had been working in Inglewood, Calif., as a handyman, under an alias. Her family said ads that ran in Wheels & Deals, a California auto classified magazine, prompted the tip. Wally Coursey said magazine officials ran the ads because they were touched by the case. "We will never know the tipster, and we are so grateful they did the right thing," Vesco said. "Now, Cesar Garcia needs to be brought to justice. We are going to get him. As a family, we are strong and will do whatever it takes, no matter how long it takes. We will do whatever it takes to bring him to justice, to get justice for Bryan." Tipsters do not have to reveal their identities to get the rewards. They are given a confirmation number a the time of the tip, and they call back with the number following an arrest to arrange for payment. Detectives used video surveillance to identify the suspects, with arrest warrants obtained for Garcia and Carillo, who also is held under immigration scrutiny. more

I just bought a truck, seller told me that it passed smog less than a year ago but has since made mods to it. the mods aren't illegal, but I can't find a shop to smog it because of something about the mods makes them not really want to. Seller won't refund money, saying that he sold the car as-is, which is true and it was actually stated in his classified ad, and tells me, buyer beware! do I have a legal leg to stand on? truck might very well pass smog but i am having a heck of a time getting a shop to try! is this my fault, or should the seller refund me or pay? thank youedit: I think the law says that the car must pass smog, and... unfortunately, it might! and probably will. Hi, ive got a friend who has gotten an interest in showing dogs. Im 16 years old and ive got a potentail show ACD, he has won best pup in class.Well my freind has heard about these and ive kinda showed her some of my "training sessions" i have with him...Teaching him to stack...going through the running patterns etc. She has asked me to help her pick out a breed to try. BUT. she is deadly scared of any dog over 15-20lbs, i asked her if she would like to try with my ACD once, and just groom, lead, and work with him a little...BUT she is deathly scared of anything over 20lbs... My partner and I have been working for the past year and a half developing a marketing system to help promote local businesses in a certain niche market (sorry wont say what the niche is). But when we go to pitch our service we are running into problems. First this is what we do: Basically we have developed a website much akin yellow pages which only caters towards this niche, over the past year and a half we have become highly optimized for almost every category in the niche ranking in the top 3 spots in Google Yahoo and Bing (MSN). (outranking even yellowpages, yelp, yellowbook and others) However we are not only offering a subscription into the directory (which gives the clients more exposure). We build each client a website, they get to choose their domain name, we create a custom classified advertisements to use, and we promote their businesses through Google Adwords, (this is done by having adwords drop the click through onto their listing page on our site.) In addition we give the clients access to a backend where they can track how many impressions their classified ads recieve, how many clickthroughs to their website, and a host of other statistical tools. This is above and beyond yellowpages, in fact many clients we talk to say they spend 150-300 a month on yellowpages and recieve NO results. We have a few clients who are very satisfied with the service, and it has helped them land additional business. In fact for most of our clients, only 1 job from a lead covers a months charge or more, and we only charge $50/mo promotional rate for 6 months then it goes to $80/mo from there. Now here is the problem we face when trying to get new clients.... Many of you may have been cold called and pitched by some internet search engine optimization company that promises that they can get you on the front page of Google for a fee.. Most of those companies are shady and provide no results. For some reason when we start talking to people this is what they think we are doing... when in fact this is NOT what we are doing at all! I'm kind of at a how I can effectively market our service without being confused as one of these shady businesses. Since this is not what we are doing. more
