Open Question: What do you think of this equation I started, and has spread all over the Internet: "Amnesty= Civil War".....?

"Amnesty= Civil War" is the guaranteed conclusion to the the way events have unfolded are heading in the U.S. When 90% of the American people want our laws enforced and illegals deported, and our corrupt government acts against the Ameircan people's will, the time for a Patriotic Revolution has come. I am proud to be a patriotic American, and to be the source of a famous, and repeated quote. May god bless the United States of America, and may we take our country back! So, what do you the people of the United States think about our country's turbulent near future? more

Open Question: What things Should be Considered for "Change" in Referendum on Turkey's Constitution?

These Articles should be Changed : 1 - Article Three, implicitly, and Article Ten, explicitly, ban (in the spirit of Turkishness based on citizenship rather than ethnicity) the division of the Turkish Nation into sub-entities and the referral to ethnic groups in law as being separate from the rest of the Turkish Nation because of the principle of indivisibility of the nation. 2 - Article Three states that the official language of the Republic of Turkey is Turkish and Article 42 of the Constitution, which prohibits the teaching of any language other than Turkish as a first language in schools. What do you think about other Articles? more

Open Question: Any “older men” sperm donation web sites, or non-anonymous donor-recipient matching sites?

I know most will just laugh at this question. It can be seen as funny, and I expect to be ridiculed for asking it, but here goes. I am a 48 year old man (no serious genetic diseases in my family, no autism, etc.). I have reached this age, and never married and never had children. I would like to know if anyone knows any websites or sources offering a legitimate matching service or something similar for men my age who wish to father children. I am not talking about a "dating" or :"sugardaddy" site. And I don't consider craigslist legitimate for this either, so no need to offer that as a joke. I am hoping someone might know if there are specialized sites or clearing houses for this. I know I am too old to donate anonymously to a sperm bank, but I think only slightly so (the universal cutoff I think is around 45, though some cut it off at 35) Such a matching service seems to be one real option if any exist. I am NOT the type of man to chase after younger women in prime child bearing years trying to hit on them romantically. That would disgust me. I also realize I may not find women near my own age for a relationship who want, or can have children. I would be able to offer to either a single woman or couple unable to have children the option of legal financial child support for the child throughout its life until at least age 18, or whatever the state law provides, and would be willing to enter into an agreement to do the same once DNA testing confirms a child to be mine (and assuming such agreements are legally allowable). Ideally, I would like to be a part of a child’s life in some way, and could offer more for its entire life, or the remainder of my life. Now, its time to laugh and start with the gold digger jokes… more

Open Question: do law enforcement agencies get rap sheets for applicants?

When submitting fingerprints for background check with a California law enforcement agency, does that agency get an actual RAP SHEET (for review) or a letter from CA doj stating that no criminal record/hit was found?ok i know they do a local search with warrant/wants and an entire state of CA warrant/wants as well as fbi. so say someone has no criminal history in the entire us, thus the fingerprint check is going to be clear for any criminal hits. now will that agency get a letter saying that the individual has no criminal history in CA and US, or a full RAP sheet of where he/she has submitted their prints even without a criminal history? more

Open Question: What do Americans think of British, Canadian, Australia, European, etc. universities having bars on campus?

In my university in Britain we have 10 bars in our student union since the drinking age is 18. Each society in my university goes out to pubs and bars and very rarely do we have alcohol-free nights. There are also bars in the university halls of residence (dormitories) and alcohol is served with meals. Our maths club goes out to a bar a few times a week for example. And there are many first year undergraduates in our clubs too. Yet somehow we learn alcohol responsibility better than over there in the States with their archaic 21 law more

Open Question: Texas State Law - Jail Time?

about a month ago I got a ticket while driving in San Antonio and was ordered to see the Judge, The Judge gave me a fine of about 550 dollars but split it up into 3 separate cases, per the 3 separate infractions on the ticket. I was allowed to pay part of it off every 30 days. I just recently lost my job, and unfortunately have no money to pay my fines, and will be looking at a warrant for my arrest. My question is: How does Jail time work? will there be fines on top of the time served? Like, Does Jail replace the fine if I don't pay the Fine in Texas law? I'm thinking of turning myself in and serving the 24-48 hour period of time if it replaces the 550 dollar fine. But if there is a fine on top of the jail time, or a service fee as well as the 550 and jail time, then obviously I don't want to do it. thanks for your help. more

Open Question: Are there any SB1070 protestors in Arizona actually from Arizona?

Far as I can tell there all pretty much bussed in from other states, primarily california. That's states been a lost cause for decades. That or there just illegals. And from watching the interviews of these people on my Arizona local news not ONE has even bothered to read the law. Even after the judge blocked major parts they protest still, even threatening to kill the judge because she didn't stop it in its entirety. And we conservatives are viewed as the violent ones... This is annoying to the point where it has gotten stupid. The sheer ignorance of these people has gotten to me. I might actually vote for Arpaio this year because of these people. I've never voted for Arpaio.I did know about the cop getting killed. But the hippies get more screen time. It pisses me off. And I don't even like cops. more

Open Question: How can I help my brother improve his life?

My brother is divorced from his wife. She refuses to let him see the kids. She has told him that she will never give him the kids for overnight visits even if she has to break the law. He does get angry and did in front of the kids. So, she uses that against him. He also has received a salary reduction at work - down to 80% of his salary and given 3 months to improve his sales figures. He does not want to tell his attorney so that his child support goes down. He thinks that his kids will think that he is a failure. He is not working on sending resumes for a new job or contacting friends that he knows. He does not have much money, but lets people take advantage of him financially. I think that his first priority should be to get a good job and then worry about getting his kids overnight. His wife wants to punish him and put him in jail so that he will have to leave the state and never see the kids. He is determined to see his kids and have them stay with him. Open Question: Is canine breed-specific legislation akin to human racism?

Seems to me that if I stated that a specific dog breed is more prone to violence and destructive behavior, people pass laws to outlaw or put restrictions on dogs of that breed, but if I were to say the exact same thing about a specific group of people, that group of people would be offended and appalled. Any thoughts? more

Open Question: Feeling down about humanity. Tell me about the good that exists?

I have not led the best life, but it's also not the hardest or worse life. I work hard and I used to party harder. I've done many many things in my life in which I am proud of. I am not a typical young adult. I am 21 and I been feeling very down about how humanity has "advanced" per se. I am a mover and a shaker; kinda like the Quakers. Which means I don't fully reject traditional ways but I do tweak them as I see fit for the greater good of mankind. I am not perfect and I am always the most optimistic and I give up a lot but I do try. In regards to how far we've come with relationships, war, peace, technology, medical advancements, etc. It seems that in a lot of ways they were developed not to bring people closer but to make us more resilient to death, stronger, taller, healthier, and even more "advanced" than previous generations against "others." By others I mean those we see fit enough to be a part of our society. I should clarify. I am not Caucasian and my family has not been in the United States for more than perhaps three decades. I am first generation born and the first to be graduating from college. I guess it's hard to explain what I am thinking but the Arizona Immigration Law and all this hubbub about immigration this, immigration that. It has me feeling down. My family are refugees and were granted sanction in the United States after being "assimilated" meaning they were "re-educated" to be fit to be here and sponsored to be here. The majority of the people of my ethnicity that arrived here were brought over by Christian families who at times had ulterior motives. I am grateful my family is here and I was born here but at the same time I am greatly overwhelmed and frustrated. So, I suppose my true question is, where is the good in our overall existence? This got my mind turning when I heard about the crack and cocaine (powder) punishments being somewhat equivalent. What happened was they lowered the consequences of crack down to cocaine, which is determined by studies as being crack=black populations and cocaine=white populations. I was a bit uneasy about this. Why didn't cocaine punishments go up to be equivalent to crack usage? Why did crack punishments get lowered to cocaine? The insinuations has me infuriated. more

Open Question: Don't you think it is about time to stop bombing Afghanistan, and START BOMBING MEXICO!?!?

Mexico has declared war on the U.S. for decades, with threats and promises of their people taking over our country, now they are just making their declaration of war official by severing diplomatic relations with us, and imposing sanctions and boycotts against us. Mexico farmers boycott call to the U.S. by Arizona law Notimex | 27.07.2010 | 11:13 | National Federal District Within days of coming into force in Arizona SB 1070, the National Federation of Social Organizations , Rural and Ejido announced a boycott of U.S. origin products . Open Question: Why do the mexicans (and the people against the Arizona law) assume it's legal to be illegal? please read this?

i mean...it's common sense...they are called ILLEGAL for a damn reason... unconstitutional? well i believe its in the Constitution that states have the right to govern themselves. Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States , people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented. Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home. They had waved goodbye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture. Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect them. All they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity. When we liberated France , no one in those villages were looking for the French American, the German American or the Irish American. The people of France saw only Americans. And we carried one flag that represented one country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be an American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white and blue bowl. And here we are with a new kind of immigrant (mexican) who wants the same rights and privileges. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes the entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I'm sorry, that's not what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900's deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags. And for that suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty, it happens to mean a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration bill. I wouldn't start talking about dismantling the United States just yet. -BC more

Open Question: With Isabel Garcia We have a huge job ahead of us to educate the ignorant public shall we overcome?

Opponents of SB 1070 spent all night in downtown Tucson to show their resistance to the remaining provisions anti-illegal immigration law. The demonstrators were divided evenly between the corner of Granada Ave. and Congress St. and a prayer vigil in El Presidio Park. Throughout the night, drivers passing by honked their horns and raised their fists in support of the demonstrators. Demonstrators worked in shifts throughout the night, with never more than thirty people, but never fewer than a dozen. Earlier in the evening the mood was uncertain as people celebrated the enjoining of key provisions of SB 1070, but recognized that the victory was only temporary. Speakers earlier in the evening tried to keep the crowd motivated. "The court stopped the core of what they were trying to do to us," said Isabel Garcia, co-chair of the Coalicion de Derechos Humanos. "We have a huge job ahead of us to educate the ignorant public." "We need to remember the deaths on the border," said Kat Rodriguez, also of the Coalicion of Derechos Humanos. "Nobody's talking about it, nobody even brings it up as a reason for reform and that's just wrong." As dawn brightened the sky, members of Calpolli Teoxicalli, an indigenous group based in South Tucson, guided the crowd in a meditation on the sunrise. "We have to remember that a lot of our relatives have to walk through the desert under the sun," said Chucho Vaisevoi. Across the street, two supporters of SB 1070 arrived and held their signs up for oncoming traffic. "I was very disappointed," said Sherri Barrett about Judge Bolton's enjoining of key provisions in SB 1070. "I have a problem with people not getting a visa. I don't care who's here, just go through the system." "I'm going to be writing and e-mailing the judge and posting that on Facebook," said Linda Wright. Hours later, around 9:30 a.m., supporters of SB 1070 began to gather across the intersection from the demonstrators. At the same time, a group of nearly 100 day laborers and their supporters marched from Southside Presbyterian Church, 317 W. 23rd St., to meet their fellow demonstrators downtown. By late morning, the crowds of both supporters and opponents of SB 1070 numbered more than 100. Supporters of the law expressed their distaste for how they perceived their counterparts had dealt with the new law. "The Left hijacked the issue. They turned it into an issue of race and not law," said Jennifer Leslie, organizer of the Pima County Tea Party Patriots. "If the other side plans to protest next week, then we'll be there, too," said Leslie. "We'll let other states that are going to pass similar laws know that there is a vocal majority here in Arizona." The turnout was less than expected by the Tucson Police Department. "Once the judge issued a ruling, it took the fire out of everybody," said Capt. Mike Gillooly. "Our number one focus today is to allow people a safe environment to voice their opinions," said Gillooly. The police did make one arrest early in the day. Christian Ziegeler, a supporter of SB 1070, was arrested on two counts of threats and intimidation, a Class 1 misdemeanor. "He was being antagonistic and he was warned," said TPD Lt. Fabian Pacheco. http://www.tucsonsentinel.com/local/report/072910_anti1070allnighter more

According to an internal U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services memo going the rounds of Capitol Hill and obtained by National Review, the agency is considering ways in which it could enact “meaningful immigration reform absent legislative action” — that is, without the consent of the American people through a vote in Congress. “This memorandum offers administrative relief options to . . . reduce the threat of removal for certain individuals present in the United States without authorization,” it reads. Also: “In the absence of Comprehensive Immigration Reform, USCIS can extend benefits and/or protections to many individuals and groups by issuing new guidance and regulations, exercising discretion with regard to parole-in-place, deferred action and the issuance of Notices to Appear (NTA), and adopting significant process improvements.” The memo claims that there are no limits to USCIS’s ability to use deferred action, but warns that using this power indiscriminately would be “controversial, not to mention expensive.” The memo suggests using deferred action to exempt “particular groups” from removal — such as the illegal-immigrant high-school graduates who would fall under the DREAM Act (a measure that has been shot down repeatedly in Congress). The memo claims that the DREAM Act would cover “an estimated 50,000” individuals, though as many as 65,000 illegal immigrants graduate high school every year in the U.S. In the immediate wake of the court decision blocking the Arizona immigration law yesterday, the memo is sure to create controversy — and the sense that the administration is bent on preserving and extending the nation’s de facto amnesty. http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=NTk3Y2EwODQxMTBlOTE4MmI3MzUwZjBkNjkzODBhMGY==FLSWAMP: Probably you can't understand them due to those liberal-colored glasses you wear.Ivan the T: I gave you a thumbs up, because your answer was very good and had common sense, but I gotta tell you..there were a lot of things Reagan and Bush, heck, even some things Clinton wanted to do but did not have the votes for it, and it never got done because they chose to NOT subvert the laws and processes put in place. Yes, there were some things they did by executive order, but NOTHING on this magnitude...no one since Woodrow WIlson, I believe has pulled this kind of crap.GLIB: Thank you very much for that. more

Open Question: Is this still the same United States that I had always "looked up to"?

Watching the battle in Omaha Beach, was so purely heartbreaking. At times, I look away, trying to control my emotions so bad, for there's way too many lives of great, noble people with such immeasurable courage had lost. All those lives... just because of A.H.'s psychotic, childish, undeveloped thinking and primeval views. But, thank Heavens for that was all over. And that was one of my countless reasons why I had always admired the United States of America. They're always right there, willing to sacrifice their own lives, for the sake of what is right (though many of them aren't necessarily their war, their battle, their problem). And honestly, I can't thank them enough for what they had done for my country's freedom. (I grew up in the Philippines). But, what's going on now? To what direction this country is heading? What happened now to all those lives that were lost fighting for what's right, fighting for our country? I was well beyond stunned on how our president took the Mexican president's side. Unspeakable! I was in such great disbelief when he agreed with the impostor! He probably isn't aware how the "el presidente" of Mexico is treating the illegals back in his country. Why did he do that? Why didn't he fight for his own people who were just absolutely doing what's American? And now, it even gets worse. He is filing a case against the AZ law. He is against for what is best for the United States of America? Is this really still the same United States that I had always admired? more

Open Question: How do I become an ambassador?

I've been thinking about what I want to do with my life. I've got a bachelor's in English and a sh*t job. I decided that I want to someday be an ambassador. What is the career path? Do I start of in State? Do I need to go to Law School? Do I need to be a politician, cause I'd rather be a career bureaucrat that a political whore. But I want to travel, I want to interact with other languages and cultures and I want to do it on someone else's dime with diplomatic immunity. Who can help? more

Open Question: R&S: what are some beneficial measures/penalties do you recommend that lessen/bring down the RAPE crimes ?

AMERICAN RAPE STATISTICS Somewhere in America, a woman is raped every 2 minutes, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. In 1995, 354,670 women were the victims of a rape or sexual assault. (NationalCrime Victimization Survey. Bureau of Justice Statistics, U.S. Department of Justice, 1996.) Over the last two years, more than 787,000 women were the victim of a rape or sexual assault. (National Crime Victimization Survey. Bureau of Justice Statistics, U.S.Department of Justice, 1996.) The FBI estimates that 72 of every 100,000 females in the United States wereraped last year. (Federal Bureau of Investigation, Uniform Crime Statistics, 1996.) SILENT VICTIMS : One of the most startling aspects of sex crimes is how many go unreported. The most common reasons given by women for not reporting these crimes are the belief that it is a private or personal matter and the fear of reprisal from the assailant. Approximately 28% of victims are raped by husbands or boyfriends, 35% by acquaintances, and 5% by other relatives. (Violence against Women, Bureau of Justice Statistics, U.S. Dept. of Justice, 1994) The FBI estimates that only 37% of all rapes are reported to the police. U.S. Justice Department statistics are even lower, with only 26% of all rapes or attempted rapes being reported to law enforcement officials. In 1994-1995, only 251,560 rapes and sexual assaults were reported to law enforcement officials -- less than one in every three. (National Crime Victimization Survey, Bureau of Justice Statistics, U.S. Department of Justice, 1996.) An overwhelming majority of rape service agencies believe that public education about rape, and expanded counseling and advocacy services for rape victims, would be effective in increasing the willingness of victims to report rapes to the police. (Rape in America, 1992, National Victim Center with Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center.) LIVING IN FEAR : According to the U.S. Department of Justice: (All statistics are taken from: Violenceagainst Women, Bureau of Justice Statistics, U.S. Dept. of Justice, 1994.) One of every four rapes take place in a public area or in a parking garage. 31% of female victims reported that the offender was a stranger. 68% of rapes occur between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. At least 45% of rapists were under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In 29% of rapes, the offender used a weapon. In 47% of rapes, the victim sustained injuries other than rape injuries. 75% of female rape victims require medical care after the attack. NOT JUST A FAMILY MATTER : Family violence and abuse are among the most prevalent forms of interpersonal violence against women and young children -- both boys and girls. The sexual abuse of a child should never be "just a family matter," but many children are afraid to report an incident to the police because the abusers are too often a family friend or relative. Approximately one-third of all juvenile victims of sexual abuse cases are children younger than 6 years of age. (Violence and the Family, Report of the American Psychological Association Presidential Task Force on Violence and the Family, 1996.) According to the Justice Department, one in two rape victims are under age 18; one in six are under age 12. (Child Rape Victims, 1992. U.S. Department of Justice.) FACE OF AMERICA : About 81% of rape victims are white; 18% are black; 1% are of other races. (Violence against Women, Bureau of Justice Statistics, U.S. Dept. of Justice, 1994.) About half of all rape victims are in the lowest third of income distribution; half are in the upper two-thirds. (Violence against Women, Bureau of Justice Statistics, U.S. Dept. of Justice, 1994.) There were 71 forcible rapes per 100,000 females reported to United States law enforcement agencies in 1996. 2 Data from the National Women's Study, a longitudinal telephone survey of a national household probability sample of women at least 18 years of age, show 683,000 women forcibly raped each year and that 84% of rape victims did not report the offense to the police.3 Using Uniform Crime Report data for 1994 and 1995, the Bureau of Justice Statistics found that of rape victims who reported the offense to law enforcement, about 40% were under the age of 18, and 15% were younger than 12.4 In a national survey 27.7% of college women reported a sexual experience since the age of fourteen that met the legal definition of rape or attempted rape, and 7.7% of college men reported perpetrating aggressive behavior which met the legal definition of rape.5 The National Crime Victimization Survey indicates that for 1992-1993, 92% of rapes were committed by known assailants.1 About half of all rapes and sexual assaults against women are committed by friends and acquaintances, and 26% are by intimate partners.1 Risk factors for perpetrating sexual violence include: early sexual experience (botUS: Soaring Rates of Rape and Violence Against Women http://www.hrw.org/en/news/2008/12/18/us-soaring-rates-rape-and-violence-against-women more

Open Question: What do you think Mexico indicates its diplomats will police to see that the Arizona laws are being followed?

MEXICO CITY – The ruling overturning key aspects of a controversial immigration law is the “first step in the right direction,” the Mexican government said Wednesday. Foreign Affairs Secretary Patricia Espinosa praised civil organizations’ and foreign governments’ efforts to appeal the SB 1070 law, which was dealt a serious blow just hours before it was to take effect today. U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton ruled that police officers would not be required to check a person’s immigration status while enforcing other laws. Bolton also delayed parts of the law that required immigrants to carry their papers at all times, and made it illegal for undocumented workers to solicit employment in public places — a move aimed at day laborers. In addition, the judge blocked officers from making warrantless arrests of suspected illegal immigrants. Espinosa said that Mexico would increase its legal and consular staff in U.S. prisons, and that Mexican diplomats would verify in person that the Arizona laws were being followed. The SRE will also distribute brochures and informational material so that Mexican immigrants know what to expect as the law takes effect. The five Mexican consulates in Arizona were ordered to remain open on Saturdays and to send mobile offices to communities with many Mexicans, the SRE said. In Mexico City, opponents near the U.S. Embassy protested SB 1070 before Bolton’s ruling and called for trade boycotts, with signs reading “Don’t buy gringo products” and “Obama, fulfill your promises.” Sergio de Alba Ávila, director of the National Confederation of Social and Agricultural Workers Organizations, said it wasn’t just a problem exclusive to Arizona, but one of the entire nation. The White House’s concern over the law is just a pretense, since deportations have increased by 30 percent during the Obama administration, Alba said. “There are more than 1,000 people being deported each day and arrested by North American authorities. These are state-run persecution policies,” Alba said. For her part, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer said Bolton’s ruling was “a temporary bump in the road” and that her state would appeal the case. “We will take a close look at every single element (Bolton) removed from the law, and we will soon file an expedited appeal at the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.” http://thenews.com.mx/articulo/praise-for-arizona-upset-10729 more

Open Question: Do people realize that the police in Arizona can now check your immigration status?

Only difference is they cant do it at a routine stop. But if they ever have occasion to fingerprint someone then they can. There is a lot in that law that has passed which will now make it a lot easier to get rid of illegals. The stop and question thing was going to be tricky but more for the poor cops who would be risking a lawsuit one way or the other. Now there are no Sanctuary places in Arizona. And now all other states are free to do the same. more

Open Question: The Jesus Christ of the LDS church discussion?

" But I fear, lest any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. for if he that preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if we receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. II Corinthians 11:3,4 This warning from Paul makes it clear that we should beware of those complicating the gospel and declaring another messiah; even though they claim their messiah is the Jesus of the Bible. The Bible is full of verses proclaiming the saving power of Christ's blood that was shed for us on the cross. Despite all the verses forcefully declaring the importance of Christ's blood, the Mormon pamphlet found in almost every LDS visitors centers titled, What the Mormons think of Christ, refutes the saving grace of Christ's sacrifice. On page 22 we find this written, "Christians speak often of the blood of Christ and it's cleansing power. Much that is believed and taught on this subject is such utter nonsense and so palpably false that to believe it is to lose one's salvation. For instance, many believe or pretend to believe that if we confess Christ with our lips and avow that we accept Him as our personal savior we are thereby saved. They say His blood, without any other act than mere belief makes us clean." In Romans 4:20 Paul declares "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight." The Apostle John wrote, "But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin." (I John 1:7) As with most false religions Mormonism emphasizes works over grace, however; no one can walk in the light without first being cleansed by Christ. One of the main fundamentals of orthodox Christianity is belief in the virgin birth of the Savior. Statements from the LDS church leaders show that they have a different view of Christ. Bruce McConkie, a Mormon Apostle, teaches in his book, Mormon Doctrine, "Christ was begotten by an immortal father in the same way that mortal men are begotten by mortal fathers." (p. 547) Joseph Fielding Smith, tenth President and Prophet of the Mormon Church claimed, "Christ not begotten of Holy Ghost...He was not born without the aid of Man and that Man was God!" (Doctrines of Salvation, 1:18). By worshipping such a being the Mormons fall under the condemnation of Romans one by changing "the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man" (1:23). The Jesus of Mormonism was also a polygamist. Mormon Apostle, Orson Pratt states on page 172 of his book, The Seer, "it will be seen that the great Messiah, who was the founder of the Christian religion, was a polygamist." Orson Hyde, also a Mormon Apostle, taught "It will be born in mind that once on a time, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee...no less person than Jesus Christ was married on that occasion." (Journal of Discourses 4:259). The Jesus of the Bible created all things. Colossians 1:16, "For by Him all things were created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible, and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions, or principalities, or powers; all things were created by Him and for Him." The God of Mormonism however needed help. In the book Mormon Doctrine, page 169, the LDS Church teaches that Jesus was helped by many when creating the earth, including the help of Joseph Smith! "Michael or Adam was one of these. Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Peter, James and John, Joseph Smith, and many other noble and great ones played a part in the great creative enterprise. Colossians 1:16 causes even more problems when you look at the Mormon doctrine concerning Jesus and Satan. The Bible teaches that Jesus created all things including the devil, however Mormon doctrine teaches that Jesus and Satan are "spirit-brothers". Milton R. Hunter, who was a member of the First Council of the Seventies writes in his book, The Gospel Through the Ages, "The appointment of Jesus to be the Savior of the world was contested by one of the other sons of God. He was called, Lucifer, son of the morning. Haughty, ambitious, and covetous of power and glory, this spirit-brother of Jesus desperately tried to become the Savior of mankind." (page 15) The Bible teaches that Jesus is the only giver of salvation and that no man cometh unto the Father but by Him (John 3:16 & John 17:6). The Jesus of Mormonism claims no such authority. Mormonism teaches that in order to be saved on must believe in Joseph Smith, their founder, as well as believe in their Jesus. In his book Doctrines of Salvation, 1:189, Joseph Fielding Smith proclaims, "NO SALVATION WITHOUTACCEPTING JOSEPH SMITH". Brigham Young said, "From the day the Priesthood was taken from the earth to the winding up scene of all things, every man and woman must have the certificate of Joseph Smith, Junior, as a passport to their entrance into the mansion where God and Christ are." He also said, "No man or woman in this dispensation will ever enter into the celestial kingdom of god without the consent of Joseph Smith" (Journal of Discourses, 7:289). In short, Mormons worship a Jesus who they claim was a polygamist and the spirit-brother of Satan. They believe in a Jesus who was not always god and whose blood does not cover all sins. The Jesus of the Mormon Church is not the Jesus of the Bible.SOURCE: http://www.contenderministries.org/mormonism/godchrist.php SEE ALSO http://jesuschrist.lds.org/SonOfGod/eng/his-life-and-teachings/articles/who-is-jesus-christ http://jesuschrist.lds.org/SonOfGod/eng/ http://jesuschrist.lds.org/SonOfGod/eng/his-life-and-teachings/articles/the-atonement-of-jesus-christSEE ALSO: http://www.contenderministries.org/mormonism.php"BTW - phrog is right - the LDS believe in the same Jesus of the bible - there is only one." Open Question: AZ law overruled: violation of state's rights or acceptable oversight by Fed?

The controversial AZ immigration law was recently blocked by a Federal court judge meaning that AZ police cannot demand papers from whomever they wish. I agree with this. On the other hand, if a majority of a state's elected leaders pass a law should that law be implemented? Are there any limits? Any checks and balances? "Elections" is a lame answer because then you're saying the legislature can do whatever they want in that time frame. Anyway, what do you think? more

Open Question: Very important! Please read?!?

Yeah because like, you know, I was gonna say like... They are real good. My brother in law in the state of Texas was talking about how delicious they are and I was just like, "Damn dude! Those sound great! I should really try them shits!". So I went to my local grocery store and they actually had some fresh and ready to eat in their moist goodness of crunchy tastiness! I was like, "Oh snap! These bitches got some of these shits!" so I went and grabbed them up and ate them like they were my last meal! The crunchiness reminded me of the hard shell of a cockroach, except it didn't taste like I was eating a dirty foot. Then I went to Sacramento and asked the local bums where to find a bear. They were wondering what I was going on about! So I offered them an apple if they told me where I can find one. They then proceeded to beat me until I bled and then stole my underwear. It not only screwed up my concept on reality, it was creepy that my underwear is all they wanted. I could have sworn one of them took a whiff! I finally got up to realize I was in a ditch close to San Diego! I don't even know what's going on at this point. I put my thumb out to hitch a ride. Come to find, I'm not on the side of the road but I am in a mall! The mall was full of people and I had a crowd around me. Turns out I was in a band getting ready to rock out! The gig was paying about $247.68. That is of course, after expenses and taxes. I started playing my hit song, When I Went to Hell, and they loved it! All up until my pants fell off, everything was going great! People were laughing and dancing! Sex all over the place! All of a sudden, the Mongolians ran in telling me to stop playing my music or they can't break down the Great Wall of China. I asked, "How is my music, my hit single, When I Went to Hell, stopping you from breaking down the wall?". They told me it was because they can't concentrate with all the great music going on and almost all their men just want to have unprotected sex with everyone and everything. I said, "Why don't you just drill some holes into the wall and they will break it with their pelvic woo!". He then exclaimed, "Thank you good sir! I shall!". He then handed me his peace pipe. I packed that peace pipe to the brim and started smoking it with the people of Ra. They were amazed at how much I put in there and felt like they were floating on clouds! I proceeded to explain to them that it was impossible because they were chained down by their god. They didn't believe me and jumped off a cliff to their deaths! Thereafter, I went to Pee Wees playhouse and sat on the talking chair. The damn thing scared me half to death and I ran towards the door! Suddenly, Pee Wee popped out of nowhere and tried to give me some Surprise Buttsex! I said, "No! Bad Pee Wee!" then he ran away to the hiny hoe guy and slapped him in the face! I flew out the window with my newly acquired wings! Night fell and I'm just trying to pay the price on it. Then I dust my shirt and fixed my pants because this is my best chance. God told me so. I realized I waited to long and I begged her to please not move on. She doesn't need anyone else! She told me my face was to big and I have a sexy smile and walked away. Can I save her from her? I really don't know! Then my uncle played with the Dwarves in the land behind the cupboard. He started slapping all of them on the *** as they giggled with glee. I really don't even know when this happened as I was over in New York. I hit them with the boom bap. I spit so they bring back the tone, I can't hear it. Can they see me? I have my brights on. Driving 90 in a 20 while kids are running into the streets right in front of my car. They burst into confetti as I passed them. It was like Mario's world. Once upon a time, a T Rex jumped over a bridge asking where the chickens reside. I told him over the chasm and he said, "That's amazingly helpful! Please don't kill me and take my children!". "To bad!" I exclaimed. "You aren't going to live long enough to see the mail!". He didn't like that so he jumped into the chasm and flew away. He then realized he can't fly and fell into the chasm to his death! That's the story in which played with the hot pan and burned itself. more

Resolved Question: Why do Mexicans hate Americans?

Why do Mexicans come to The United States of America then expected their anchor babies to get welfare? Why should American tax payers pay for illegal aliens housing, food, and medical care? How about if they give birth in America we give the baby to an American family and send the Mexicans back to Mexico? Would that help deter illegal Mexicans from crossing the border? What is we passed a law to kill anybody here illegally on grounds of protecting national security. Or seeing illegals as terrorists. How can we make it if you come here illegally you get no food stamps, no free housing, no free child care, no free education, no home loans, no student loans, no car loans.
