Open Question: Is this an illegal form of advertising?
Okay, so I'm 14 and I've been using this site called FreebieJeebies, and to get my free item, which in this case is an iPhone 4 - 32GB SIM FREE, I have to get 29 referrals, which basically means I have to get 29 people to sign up at this link http://apple.freebiejeebies.co.uk/338359 So far, from YouTube videos and just posting around forums, I've made 1 referral, and at this rate it's going to take ages to get my iPhone. I want to use the methods that the guy in this video teaches http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUOku7gPRvY So I want to like go around and whenever I go out and I like go to public toilets, I will put like little business cards down or like flyers. I was just wondering though, is this illegal? I will be like leaving them on tables deliberately and when I go camping soon I want to use this as a chance to place more around the village we're going to. The business card will just have "Free iPhone" printed at the top, with some information underneath and then a website I will be setting up for it. So here are my questions... 1) So, what parts of this are illegal? 2) How much trouble could I get into for this? 3) Am I likely to get into trouble? P.S. It may sound stupid, but on the business card I'm going to say that I'm a woman and that the website is run by me, to bring in more people. P.S.S. I don't want any answers saying this website is fake, I know for a fact it's real. moreOpen Question: Which studies and work experiences should I put on my CV?
I major in Performing Arts Communication, which is really 80% business communication management and 20% stagework. I'm in my final year of college, but at 25 am slightly older than most of my classmates. Within the next three months I need to find an internship, but since I'm not counting on my stagework subjects, I'm planning to find experience in other communication fields. It's not that I've never worked before, but most of the times I've applied for jobs I've found that most of the experience I put on my CV has gotten me into trouble more than helped me. So I've decided to trim my CV and mention only "relevant" ones, but I need some help here. I'm planning to apply to several companies, including PR-Advertising companies, media consultancies, news TV stations, magazines, newspapers, and embassies. Here are some of my schooling experiences: - The one I'm doing now: Performing Arts Communication in Indonesia, graduating next year. Not crazy about its quality or its future prospects, but at least my campus has a strong brand reputation. - 1 year of Advertising in The Netherlands (2004-2005). Great program much better than my current one, but didn't finish. - 1 year of Marketing-Management in the US (2002), but it was an unaccredited religious college. And my complete list of work experiences: - Freelanced on and off as a translator, interpreter, MC, and event organizing. - Tried to start an event management business with friends, supported by a senior couple who are alraedy operating several businesses of our own. We produced one event and tried to continue, but failed. I wasn't paid a penny for this, but I was working 9-5 Monday to Friday and treated it as I would a job, so I think I still learnt a lot of things that could be valuable in the workplace. - Did 10 episodes of a journalistic radio talk show as a means of strengthening the brand of an independent newspaper some professional acquaintances started. The newspaper went out of business, though :-( - Multilevel marketing, between 2004-2006. Hardly anything to show for it now, but it helped me handle objections professionally, develop emotional stability, learn how to sell stuff, and it was arguably the first place where I learnt comprehensive branding strategies. If I had known the pitfalls of the industry I probably would have not chosen this job, but it left a significant mark on me in terms of building my character for the better. - I sometimes list "multimedia personnel" for this organization (which I tend to refrain from telling employers that it's really my church), in which I worked together with these contemporary Christian recording artists in producing multimedia, written work, and event management. Other than that, I've taken several short courses in journalism and TV presenting. I've been told by some that mentioning all the qualifications here above can be intimidating for an HR recruiter, especially that I'm not even a fresh graduate yet. But at the same time, I'm also afraid that if I don't mention them, I might fail to compete with younger candidates who seem to have a lot more to offer than I do. A prospective employer over an interview once told me that I'm the type who knows what I want, but unfortunately does not have what it takes to get it in this competitive career climate of Jakarta, where preference is given to the young and obedient instead of intelligent risk takers like me (especially that I'm older but have not been able to show "commitment"). Anyway, in order to get a great internship ASAP, which studies and work experiences should be on my CV? It would be great if you could also help me differentiate how to write different versions of my CV when writing to different company types. Thank you :-) moreOpen Question: Is Eat, Pray, Love a good book?

Hi, I recently bought some Oakley Gascans off ebay about 2 weeks ago (I know that's the root of the problem) which the owner advertised them as slightly used. When I got them, they were in pretty mint condition. The only problem at the time was that the stems were a little loose and I thought nothing of it really as it was barely noticeable. But now, I notice it every time i put them on and I was wondering if there is any way that I could tighten the stems by hand someway or if I should take them to lenscrafters or something. From what I can tell they don't have any visible screw of any sort. Thanks for the help! -J moreOpen Question: Cheap hotels in Seattle--not those on expensive hotel comparison sites, etc.?
Hi. We're planning to be in Seattle July 30 to Aug 2, 2010 and are looking for cheap hotels for 2 adults to stay in. What I'm looking for is not one of those expensive hotel comparison websites like http://www.resideo.com/us/washington/seattle or something like that, but some cheap hotels/motels that don't advertise. For example, in Portland, OR, we stumbled on a cheap hotel row on Interstate Av. btwn. N Rosa Parks and Lombard with a few hotels (like the $44.99/night Viking Motel) that don't come up on any internet search for cheap hotels. You'd never find them unless you either stumbled on them or found out about them through places like Yahoo answers. Our standards aren't high, but we do want to avoid true roach motels or those in places where your car might get broken into, etc. Hope somebody up there can help us out. Thanks and I'll remember to choose a best answer. moreOpen Question: Is there any place that i can advertise my hemp jewlrey for free or very cheap and for a long period of time?

I was looking for a place on craigslist and i emailed my inquiries to the email address provided and this email was sent back to me from karen@dallasgazette.net Hello, Thanks for taking the time to email me about the place. We thought we had the place rented last week to a young couple, but communication has dropped off. you are the first person to email about it since we put it back on the market . It would only be fair that we gave you the first shot at the property. Normally, we would prefer a year lease, but would also be open to shorter terms. I'm sure that you will want to see the property before making a final decision. I would simply give you the address and let you swing by, but my husband is against blindly advertising an empty home online. Rest assured the home has been up kept properly and had a good cleaning and fresh coat of paint. Basic utilities are currently on, but we expect that you would get them put into your name fairly quick. If you want to go ahead and schedule a time to see the property, go to the link below and print off the free copy of your report. Your score isn't necessarily important, we're just interested in seeing that there are no evictions / landlord related judgments. Here is the link: HERE I am very open as far as appointments go to show the property. Any morning after 10am is fine. Just let me know when you have everything printed and be sure to leave me a contact number to reach you at and any desired time. I will call you to confirm a time and choose a place to meet. Thanks for looking, So, I got a credit report my.creditreport.com and i was wondering if it was a legit site. then she told me to click on this link (http://forms.aweber.com/form/64/1434016664.htm ) and stupidly i did but it led me to a blank page. Then i found out it was a scam. Through all this will this person be able to access any of my information such as my social security number or my credit card number? if so what should i do next?i actually didn't email this person my SSN or my credit card number but i had to put it in that website (my.creditreport.com) and i was wondering if they would be able to somehow access my information from this webstie? moreOpen Question: What is the most suitable thing to do?
My idea is building an online delivery company to deliver food products to people. Moreover, nobody here does that kind of service. Everything is online except having cars and some employees for delivery. Do you think that i can generate a lot of money by online advertising if my website is very popular (aside from the delivery service) or do you think that time is out for new generations to start making money on the web. Because of the freaking amounts of people that are in many online businesses. I really want to know how things really work. Because most of youngsters that made it big, were involved in online activities. So i think too much between the both. But first i want to concentrate on my delivery business, but want to learn how can i make it proper. Like how can i sell it to big organisations. And how do you find your experience with the web. Because i don't want to blog or affiliate, i want to do something i love and turn it to profits. Bottom line is how to use the internet to make it really BIG??? moreOpen Question: This is a really cool site, Who Gives a Damn?

I don't hate models or anything, I don't hate anyone at all. But doesn't it bug you how models show off their sexy body and stuff, wearing almost nothing, making people depressed because they don't look like that!? I mean, I bet some belemic and anorexic people cry at the sight of a model, and some people CHOOSE to to things like that just so they could look like them! Don't you think that's a bit rude and show offy of them? You don't need to have some big breasted women showing off to advertise something not even clothes! (like a car or something) It just makes me sad.... (btw im not belemic or anorexic I'm just saying, this bugs me!) moreOpen Question: What classes should I take in order to become an Advertising Art Director?
I'm a junior in high school, and right now I'm just taking all AP classes. I don't think this is the path I should take in order to get to that career. Any suggestions?? moreOpen Question: Funny Rodeo Commercial?
Today on ESPN I caught the last couple seconds of what looked to be a pretty funny commercial. I am pretty sure the commercial itself was advertising the 2010 National Rodeo Finals. It had two attractive women sitting at a bar and a stop watch in the bottom corner (like in a bull riding contest). Any time a guy approached the gals, the clock started timing how long it took for the guy to get shot down. The last scene is of a guy who walks up in the background, smiles, and walks off (the clock doesn't even start timing). Anyway, does anyone know where I can find a link to this commercial? Thanks. moreOpen Question: 'position you are currently advertising' or 'advertising for'?

Is marketing or advertising an art? moreOpen Question: Why did Animal Planet waste so much money advertising that stupid meerkat manor show?
I mean I could not go to the movie theater or open a magazine or go on the internet without one of their stupid advertisements popping up, I mean the only advertising I saw more of was Hannah Montana (I hate her too but sadly she gets alot of viewers) I mean the show was stupid and boring and I'm not sure but I don't think it was getting alot of views compared to LOST or NCIS and Family Guy and stuff like that I know some people don't get cable but I mean they cancelled the dumb show after like 3 years or something because they all died or something, I like animals (I have a cartoon animal as a thumbnail) I don't believe in animal cruelty of anything but to tell you the truth I was happy to see them die I was so sick of seeing that stupid show. I don't think it got many views because they could have restarted it with another family of meerkats but they just made stupid spin offs like "Orangutan island" and "lemar kingdom" that was even worst so they took them off. moreOpen Question: Whats the most boring TV channel other than C-Span and all the disney Channels?
I'm not talking the channels that get rented out and only show commercials (Dish network does that with some of their extra channels) I'm talking channels that have been on for years. The most boring channel I can think of is Animal Planet because my sister has watches that stupid "Big Cat Dairy" show, she's watched about every episode about 20 times and I'm getting sick of looking at these stupid cats walking around in Africa all the episodes are the same just stupid cats walking around and boring stuff and "Meer kat manor" was the same thing but they wasted alot of money advertising for a show that didn't get much views its really her fault I hate the channel, most of the time when I'm at home I can leave and go to another room most of the time but if its raining at a motel and she has the retarded channel on I can't go anywhere to get away from it. Why do all their documentary shows take place in Africa too? is it because the animals there ain't scared of cars and people and it's flat and easy to film there? I haven't learned anything off that channel in about 7 years why can't they film animals that live in North Amica? I don't think I would lean anything but at least the channel might be kind of neat but I guess people are too lazy to walk throw the mountains with the camera's because on Big Cat Dairy their always in there land rovers and the show is just boring and there "It's Me Or The Dog" Show is always the same Animals cops was ok but all their Other shows where dumb and their "planets funniest animals" was a 100% rip off of "America's Funniest Home Video's" all the Disney channels are just stupid but other than my sister liking a few dumb Hannah Montana songs she doesn't watch the channels (because as stupid as she is she is smart enough to hate all the Disney Channels) so I'm not really gonna go over them. moreOpen Question: Selling home made jewelry?
Okay, so I recently took up making home made jewelry as a hobby. I like it. It's interesting to me and the necklaces come out pretty nice. I wanted to see maybe if I can make a little money off what I like to do. I wanted to know how I could go about this... Would i advertise the merchandise by putting ads up around grocery stores or local places, or would sell it online (also how would I do that), or would i get permission to sit outside of a store and sell the items? I don't know if I need a liscense to sell the jewelry or what...? thanks! moreOpen Question: Will my Peugeot 206 14in alloys fit any other model of car?
Hi I just got a set of 16in alloys for my Peugeot 206 and want to sell my 14inch alloys which are still in new condition. Okay I just recently thought of this, you know how the spirits go to the Soul Society when they pass over, most likely (heaven) and when the hollows are in that dark cloudy place, most likely (hell) so do you think Bleach is advertising Christianity to the whole anime world? I don't think it's right and i'm atheist. moreOpen Question: Whats the techno song playing in the background of the commercial previewing Jersey Shore season 2?

Tell me what you think this means... I know of a type of pleasure which is associated with a chemical called methyl salicylate. This chemical is what is responsible for the taste of bubblegum. It is that taste that gives me the emotional feeling described in the following blog... h t t p : / / e x a l t e d p h e o n i x . b l o g s p o t . c o m / (copy and paste, then remove the spaces). This pleasure feels some how forbidden in nature. (PS - When I say forbidden pleasure, it has nothing to with anything rude) I want people to know what my personality is too, which is the following... I have extreme sensitivity to people's feelings (compassion), so much that people tell me that I am too soft and do not use enough discipline and that I would let people indulge in my love. I have a sarcastic but not offense, dark, warped and wicked sense of humour; but in a way that people like. I have a big interest in science, particularly in medicine. I believe pride is what we should all have, that is pride in doing well is a way that is positive in behaviour morally. This pride would not be where we are concerned about what other people think of us, what we think of our selves. I have a strong sense of wanting to be consciensious and thorough, clear and conscise. I work very hard indeed, and have a very high standard indeed. I like to go well behond what is good, I want to do an exceptional job at something good. I like knowing I am doing exceptionally well, to be shockingly good. It is in terms of moraly and achievements, which also related to this sensitivity to the way people feel. It am creative and would only create the most stunningly wondering things or unthinkable beauty, anything else is not good enough. For instance I created this page, watch the videos... http://www.youtube.com/user/SabretoothSnowMan I want to have the clothes, give the impressions that advertise and express this forbidden pleasure like feeling as being a part of my personality and that this is who I am. I want what I do, wear and behave to reflect that forbidden pleasure like feeling. But to include my descriptions of my personality as a part of it. How do I do this? Will people acsept me as being like this? Would God like me this way? Would you like me if you knew me well and I was like this? Show me how to achieve this? IT SURE SEEMS THAT WAY.?
I responded to an Ad in the Star Ledger dated June 13, 2010. Ad Id# 18008. The ad was advertising warehouse/customer service/cleaning positions in Essex, Union, and Hudson counties. no exp. needed ect. call for interview i did exactly that the next day monday morning i spoke to a young lady who took my name and scheduled me for an interview gave me the address and that was it. never mentioned anything about a $20.00 application fee or a $45.00 drug test fee out of pocket. the date was set for the following week. when i got there, there were other people there that was filing out applications or who were leaving the premises. nothing looked odd besides the office seems too simple it seems the phone calls came through a cell phone it was almost make shift. however i was dealing with actual people that had an address so i wasn't so alarm. to be brief i was given a simple application. name date skills simple just one sided piece of paper. after i filled it out i gave it the young lady who then ask me wheres my $20.00 appl. fee i said no one mentioned anything about a $20.00 appl. fee and she said she wouldn't take the appl. without the fee. i needed the job and $20.00 was not going to break me i could have the job and i was told there was a bank across the street. so i went and got the money . there were 3 young ladys in there and 1 young man outside the office as far as people who work there. i gave the money the same young lady and immediately she sent me to another young lady in a back cubicle for interview that lasted about 5 minutes. just ask what were my skills and what county that i live in and was told that they had open position in reference to the skills that i had in the county that i live sounded good and next was told i would be contacted to take drug test and left i was contacted about a week later by a young lady who told me to come in for a drug test and there is a $45.00 fee. i was being knieve i know this job ws a supplement for the added responsibility of my wife and i first child and i already invested $20.00 and the fact that iam dealing with actual people who had an address i didn't want to believe that it was a scam. although it sent up red a red flag because usually i know the company pays for the drug test and so forth but again i was being knieve. i went back to the office first that was ask do i have my $45.00 fee and i already intended to ask question just to find out more about this company i called the bbb. b4 i went for the drug test and was told the company has only been there for about 3 years and they have a c rating and 1 complaint that was resolved. and they didn't have anymore 411. after that conversation with the bbb i felt like i couldn't complain based on my skepticism alone i had to wait for something to happen. so back to the test i was taken to a back room where my fee was taken and thinking for this $45.00 it going to be at least some kind of urine test ect. but to the contrary just a long q-tip like with cotton on both end and told to brush it against my cheeks in my mouth and that was the test. and told i would be contacted between 7 to 10 days to dress professionally. sounded to me something that was already set. and i was going to have a job. will now it has been 1 MONTH and a week no one called me when i tried calling voice mail is always full. i did ask for receipt for the $45.00 fee which was reluctantly given to me. IAM not trying to hurt anybody i believe i was a victim and i know for a fact there were others who applied. so if anyone has any 411 please let me know. people are already going through a hard time with this economy and if injustice is being done it needs to be known. please anybody respond thank you in advance. moreOpen Question: Is this a good robot dance?

I challenge you to for one week watch Fox News in your spare time and, in one week when I will post a follow-up, post all the examples of bias you have found in one week. This does not include conservative talk shows such as Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, etc, as those are advertised as conservative commentary and are not meant as news programs. Just watch news program(not commentar)y on Fox, and at the end of the week tell me what bias you have found. Give me the quote, the name of the program, and the date you saw it. You always say Fox is biased, well here's you chance to prove it. Do you accept the challenge? moreOpen Question: How to make a movie that looks fancy on my computer?

A month ago, I saw online where Lasik was doing a special for 299 an eye. I hate wearing contact lens and glasses so I decided to give them a call. We set up a appointment for me to go talk to someone and to do a test on my eyes. I had a friend drive me to Carmel Indiana which took two hours. Come to find out the surgery cost $1759 per eye. I was pissed off because I just knew that I was going to have the surgery done and wind up leaving there mad. Why are these company allowed to post ads that mislead people? moreOpen Question: Dealers Straight Out Lying About Prices Online?
I'm going to be buying my first car very soon, and I've got a few cars in mind, Ford Focus, Toyota Matrixs, Mazda 3. I need a hatchback for the things I do. I started looking on autotrader for good prices for cars in my general area, and I found a Toyota Matrix with 98000km, off lease, no accidents, for $7998 a decent price, but nothing amazing. The dealer was close so I went to take a look. When I get there, the price on the window is $9998 and I said, I'm not paying that much for a car you're advertising as $7998 online. The guy kept demanding it wasn't listed for anything other than $9998 online. So I took out my phone, brought up the listing, and proved it to him. He than told me he couldn't sell it to me for that price, and told me to come into his office to work something out. I than left. I was ticked off, but I assumed that was a rare occasion, until on friday, I had the SAME thing happen again. The online price is far off from the actual price, and they deny everything. This is very shady to me, I guess they assume a lot of people check pricing online before going to their dealership, so they entice people in with totally BS prices. Than when they hook you on the car at the dealership make you pay a TOTALLY different price. Is this even legal? I know you can sell your product for what ever amount you wish to, but to advertise a car at a price you have NO intention of selling it for seems a little unlawful to me. Am I the only one whose experienced this? Or is this something thats common? moreOpen Question: other than sports stations which radio station do you listen to most?

I'm entering my senior year of high school. I've been thinking about what I would like to do with my life and I am stuck. I originally wanted to work in film for the longest time; ever since I was a little girl. Unfortunately, I have grown up and realized that making it in that career is almost impossible. SO, I settled on becoming a teacher. However, living in New York City has caused me to go for the gold. So I am pursuing a career that will get me some dough! Does anyone have any career suggestions? I was thinking of double-majoring in Marketing & Communications in college. I feel that these broad degrees will help me in the work place. I don't plan on becoming a doctor, nurse or lawyer. Anyone with experience in the advertising, marketing and communications field will be a huge help! moreOpen Question: If any baby is okay to adopt?
Is any man okay to marry? I see potential adopters on this site and many others, making it clear that they are willing to accept ANY baby to raise. They don't seem to care about the race, nationality, or history of the baby. They just want that *void* filled. So do you suppose that these same women (since they drive adoption) would advertise for and accept ANY man who was willing to marry her? Why or why not? What's the difference? moreOpen Question: Want to rent privately (not estate agent) Are there any classified websites who advertise?
