Open Question: Graphics Card Blew Up?!?

Ok so my graphics card, which I believe is an ATI RADEON 4800 Series, seems to have blown up... It's probably around 1.5-2 years old. And so I was playing Crysis last night, with everything set to high, which is what the optimal settings were for my Dell XPS 630i. After playing for a while, I paused it and when I came pack to the computer about half an hour later I noticed that the game had crashed and windows had an error message saying that my pc was low on memory and had to close the program. But the whole pc started bogging down and acting funny. I noticed though that in the upper right hand corner of my screen on my desktop I have a gauge that was reading like 82% at the hand of the gauge was in the red area, kinda like on the spedometer of a vehicle. The pc became so bogged down that I had to shut off, and now every time I try turning it back on, it will just go threw the Dell loading Bios Screen thing, then the screen will stay black and not do anything. This happens everytime you try turning it on now. Can someone tell me whats wrong? I'm hoping to call Dell later on today to get it repaired I just want a clear answer... Thanks more

I work as a graphic design for a vehicle wrap company. My boss told a client that something would be completed on the 28th, Last Friday. Well, it didn't get done. The client called here yelling at me this morning, that if her job wasn't done, she will call the police, and demand a full refund. We have her trailer and said she can pick it up if she's this unhappy with our services, but there is paper work that she has to complete to get a refund, we can't just hand her a thousand dollars out of our pockets (we would have to consult with the owner of the business). I haven't taken any sides, I know my boss is sometimes irresponsible (at applying the graphics). Anyways, at the beginning of the job, she signed a contract saying that project completion date is just an estimated date, and is subject to change. I'm not sure which to get.Good things about Need For Speed Most Wanted is that it is know as a really fun game with great cars, good sense of speed,free roaming, good story and great police chases. Bad things about it are that it is a little bit old and it's map is not as large as Burnout Paradise's. Good things about Burnout Paradise are that it has a lot of destruction, better graphics( I think, right?), large map, and has many races. Bad things about Burnout Paradise are that there is no licensed vehicles, no map without pausing game, no story( just races around the city) and does not have police chases. Resolved Question: Graphics card compatibility with the PC?

We have a Dell 390 currently containing a NVIDIA Quadro FX 3500 graphics board. We also have an HP xw6600 workstation containing a NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700 graphics board. I haven't found a site that lists compatible upgraded graphics boards to PCs. If there is one, let me know. I'd like to upgrade to the GeForce 9600 GSO 512 or GeForce 9600 GT 512 on both PCs. These PCs are part of a virtual vehicle trainer for a business application running the Presagis Vega Prime visualization system. Every so often, visually displayed vehicle movement appears jerky on the 3D and other times, the movement is fine. I'm suspecting that the existing graphics boards are not "high-end" enough to do the visualization job consistently. more

he's a big ps3 fanboy and the only person i know who has one. he claims that halo sucks and has horrible graphics. i tell him it's just drawn different and with 3 million sales it has to be assumed good. I like COD but i like halo more, he only likes COD. When i talk to him, it always comes up and is so annoying. 5-10 years old I think. It’s a military game where you control your army of soldiers and there’s like snipers and soldiers and it’s a low tech game for computer. I have no clue on the name but I remember the game itself. You start off with a bunch of soldiers and you merge onto the camp with bad guys and tents and stuff. If you have an idea what it is or just suggestions I would appreciate it a lot it’s bugging me. Red Alert: Command and Conquer - Graphics to new Return Fire - Graphics to old Desert Strike -Graphics are right wrong game. This is closet to how the game looks. War Commander - So close but soldiers are bigger and the grapics are lower Commandos- To new Close Combat- To new Questions Asked : 1. So you control a bunch of soldiers... and then what? Do you control other things? Vehicles? Helicopters? Tanks? What exactly? What's the point of the game? Objectives? 2. How is the controlling? Do you select multiple soldiers like StarCraft or WarCraft and then give them assignments or something? How was it played with the keyboard? Explain controls in detail. 3. Does the game look awfully similar to Desert Strike? What color was the terrain mostly? Was there ever a time you go near water/ocean graphics? How do the soldiers look? Answers: 1. You select soldiers like starcraft click them where you want them to go and tell the to wait or attack. Just soldiers and snipers and flamethrowers no vechiles or tanks and stuff. The point is just to defeat the enemys presented to you with a minimum loses to you. 2. Played with keyboard and mouse like starcraft and you just moved to to areas of the map you want and you tell them to wait or attack. 3. Graphics are like desert stike. I was just wondering what game you think is better. I own both games and i personally like Bad Company 2 alot more. I think MW2 has gotten better reviews because it has a better campaign and also has spec ops. I think that the multiplayer in BC2 rapes MW2 though. IMO BC2 is better (multiplayer only, but hey that's all anyone does anyway) Here's why and why not i think its better that CoD. Why: Better graphics Bigger maps Much more explosions and stuff going on; warlike. Destructibe environments Can get in vehicles No campers No lag (because of DEDICATED SERVERS) Why not: On rush, you can spawn kill so easy it's not funny. I am very upset that ubistar or whatever tried to end 3DOs massive online story of armymen but i had something to bring the heroes back to life if i can get the correct software and games and mods to have this thing built heres the storyline After Sarge deafeated Lord Malice he was so sad and lonely and had only months left before he ran out of recources. He then went to the bodies of his fallen heroes and green men and brought them back to the labrotory from which he killed malice. He then took their DNA from them and took their brains and placed them in a machine that duplicates men. Sarge then re built his fallen men and then they slowly regan automaticly stitch themselves up from Grim,think,hoover, and the other heroes.(including viki) Sarge had then suprisingly emsassed exactly 500 green soldiers and all together they build tanks jeeps and vehicles to destroy remenant tan bases outposts and remains of tan forces to burn to the ground. Thats the storyline. Game can be a third person shooter with good graphics and i will bring back the old weapons and put the game in place on how it should be. This leads the game to Army men the greens revenge. Basiclly you will be focusing on a third person shooter and rts built in one similar to army men rts. and when your units are build you will be able to jump to the battle scenes up close and either watch or control a unit squad. There will be a barracks and there will be places to rebuild your units and squads. This mostly is a game to capture and use the tan and take them prisoner. So leaving the game to a 3rd person shooter and rts built in one. if all goes well with sending me files i will lead this game to a free multiplayer download with free 5 missions and when this games comes out it will be absolutley free. more

Bad company 2 or Modern Warfare 2 Mw2, hardcore, campers but nice gameplay and graphics, really cool game Bbc2, alot less campers nice graphics, buildings get broken down, able to use tanks and other assualt vehicles, able to use helicopters, mechanics of game is 100% real, bullets, mortars sound like your on an actual battlefield, seeing a helicopter blow up in the air is fuckign amazing! Able to use classses like Recon, Medic, Engineer, Assualt, etc. Game is balanced, classes are balanced... This games sucks. The aiming is horrible, I can barely see anyone with the ironsight. I cant kill anyone because i dont notice the barely visible HIT sign like in CODMW2 The graphics are great tho. The helicopter is Overpowered since RPGs are useless against it. Most of the classes suck Engineers can repair but most vehicles get destroyed in two shots, it takes 25 secs to repair a vehicle to half and theres a 5 sec cooldown after the half repair Medics just revive but its not convenient The game mode Demoliton is stupid, The Offense ALWAYS wins since they are given fresh reinforcements everytime they destroy two stations Sniper takes two shots if its not a headshot, and since people have unlimited sprint they can run away, but the demo sniper is a bolt action so unless its a headshot u cannot kill anyone wen they are running The only fun part of it is the vehicle part Turrets are overpower too, same with the UAV Maybe its me or just the demo but THIS GAME IS HORRIBLE. Ive been playing need 4 speed games since NFS: high stakes came out! My fav of the series was underground 2 and since then the nfs games are going down hill most wanted and carbon where ok but really boring i really liked pro street but it was all on tracks and it pushed u in certain directions! which i didnt like i like free roam!! and i havent even brought shift because im a street racing kind of guy all ways have been and will be!!!!! if i wanted a track game id go for forza 3 because they do it soo much better then ea! can u imagine with the graphics today what they could do with U3 on ps3 and the 360 what id like is the gran turismo 4s cars (There was ALOT of them and i emphesis the word alot) GTA IVs Free roam (With pedestrians, other detailed vehicles, police, ability to get out of your car, the doors arnt silled shut!! i already posted 2 ideas but then i remembered 2 i had but forgot to mention. 1 of my ideas im about to say was in the answer of somebody else so that's why i remembered. congratulations on him thinking about that but i still had thought about it before. ok. here we go 1:a BETTER Halo Wars. the 1st Halo Wars isn't all that great. all u do is click on ur army and attack. not that fun huh. they should make it more like Age Of Empires. or even better yet. Stronghold. were u actually have to get resources. and u have to control the whole line that makes ur army. u have to make a place to get the material for the weapons, ammo, armor, vehicles, etc. then a shop to actually make the armor etc. then an armory. u can only have as many vehicles, men, and such as there is available in ur armory, garage, etc. and humans need to eat. so mess halls and stuff like that.a place to train ur army. a place to recruit. not just click and win. thats just boring 2:A story about hte Forerunners (this is the idea that was also in the answers of when i asked this question before. i would like everyone to know i am NOT copying this guy. i thought of this before i just forgot to put it in before) i mean that would be awesome. u fighting as a completly differnt race? taht sounds cool. means new story, new weapons, new allies, new vehicles, new planet, new everything 3:have a game were u are a normal Marine.i think that could be cool because then it wouldnt just be u run out into a big army of aliens spraying and u some how win. have it so u need to plan ur attacks and use strategy. kinda like ODST but even more intense. although in ODST u had health and it wouldnt come back unless u healed urself, it was still a prettey easy game. kinda like the 1st Halo. u had health in Halo 1. so basically the same thing. exept ODST had better graphics, cooler multiplayer, and a cooler story 4:have something like this. the Elites stumble across a new alien race. and a war is started. so teh Elites call on the Humans help to defeat the new alien race. that would be awesome. a 100 % completly new enemy to fight. so they have new types of aliens, new vehicles, new gernades, new weapons (mabey not plasma weapons this time. something completely differnt) new tactics, new planets. all that 5:base another game on one of the Halo books. for those of u who didn't know. the game coming up Halo Reach is based on a Halo book called The Fall of Reach. it tells the story of the planet "Reach" its the planet were all the Spartans (including John aka Spartan 117 aka Master Cheif) trained to BECOME spartans. how at first they were just Elite soldiers then got their armor and later once they found the Coveneant they upgraded to energy shield armor. how Spartan 117 BECOMES Master Chief. and the battle that forces Mater Cheif onto the Piller of Autumn remember in Halo 1 the ship in the 1st mission? that mission takes place about an hour after they leave the planet Reach. 6:(this is another idea that someone posted in my last question. and again i thougt about it. i didnt mention it though cause its not really an idea for a story. but a cool idea as a add on mabey. have all the old maps come back from Halo 1 and 2. make them an add on u can buy on xbox live marketplace or on a disk mabey. like how when u bought Halo 3 ODST u got all the Halo 3 maps. mabey something liek that but all the maps.and mabey even the Firefight maps from Halo 3 ODST but for normal Multiplayer. that could be fun. 7:mabey just anotehr ODST game. i loved teh idea of ODST. and the story was more catchy and intresting that Halo 1 2 and 3. ok. those are my ideas. please do not get all pissed at me if u dont like them. simply ignore them. but tell me what u think. if u dont like the ideas please say so. just don't be a jerk about it. and give me any idaes u can think of too. thanks. more

I'm looking for a game but I forgot the name. I think there's other games (prequels) to this one (Like Doom and Gunner has), but here's the game I'm looking for: .. Technical Details .. * 2D shooter game * Your view perspective is from above, down on the player * There are several weapons, vehicles to ride, some even underwater, some in space.. * The game has level editor, sprite editor, item editor so you can basically edit anything * Some weapon even have green lasersights, I remember, and you can have nightvision I think The game is not very "commercial and fancy", the weapon sprites aren't much more fancy than those found in a game called Gunner 3 (Some other game, found on TheGamesPage.com) Details: Basically, I think I play as some kind of agent or soldier. You get missions here and there. The missions vary, but many involve using keycards to enter doors, where there are blue, red, yellow, green and some other keycards I think, and I remember one mission where you have to escort some tanks. There are vehicles like aquasub/underwater submarine, buggy, helicopters, tanks, even hoverboards that go over water. There are enemies on foot, and some in vehicles, many kinds of "soldiers" I remember one tank I think is called the "Doom Tank" or something alike, that is vastly superior to all other tanks you can use. In the level editor, when you start a blank new map, you will notice that the ground, with no textures, is made up of white tiles with red crosses. The game controls involve using keyboard to move around (WASD keys I think), as well as mouse control to aim. You may have to hold down right-click to use Mouse aim, but I'm not sure. The game's very playable and I think it has prequels. Considering the game has very simple graphics, I believe it's not the work of a big game company but rather a small group of people, or a programmer, probably as some kind of freeware. Ok, I have to start off by saying that I am a HUGE fan on Grand Theft Auto: 4 as well as Vice City Stories and from what I've seen I would be of San Andreas and some others but the Vice City Stories and 4 are the only ones I've played. Well, I looked at a trailer on youtube of Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony and I remember his name mentioned a few times in GTA:4. Well I don't just buy these games for the game-play although that is a major part, but I'm also enjoy the storyline missions ALOT. Anyways, I am wondering a couple of things, honestly, since I was a huge fan of 4, do you think I would like or I should get The Ballad of Gay Tony? Is the gameplay similar to GTA:4? Are the same vehicles available, I mean, not only are there any new ones I just want to know if the sames ones are still there plus some new ones or what? Do they still have the normal Maverick helicopters? The Annihilators? Are there new weapons and are they fun? I mean, I don't want any details to ruin it for me I just want to know if I should risk getting this game (expansion pack) or not? Again, I do enjoy the storyline as well as game-play and graphics. Resolved Question: Recommended vehicular team-based first person shooters?

I've been in search of a decent first person shooter that possesses the following qualities: has vehicles (like Halo), has large multiplayer player capacity (like Tribes), and solid team-based game play (like Star Wars Battlefront). My computer is about five years old, so I'm limited to games that are on the graphic level of Unreal Tournament 2004.
