Resolved Question: Where can I buy a kid's toy advertised on tv, think it's called a "u bag"?
My daughter (nearly 7) keeps asking for a "u bag" or "you bag" - not sure if this is the correct name - that she saw on an advert. It's a bag with lots of compartments for kids that they can keep Nintendo DSI s in and stuff like that. She says the advert says "There's a whole world inside". Anyone have any ideas what this is and where I can buy it? I can't ever seem to see the advert! Thanks! moreResolved Question: Dubstep track on new MTV naked advert?

Hi everyone, id like to describe my current situation which is probably all too familiar to most of you I come from a lower(working) class family in England. Im a 17 year old guy studying A levels, living with two younger sisters and my parents in a rented house. As with many families in at the moment we are X thousand pounds in debt, im not sure of the exact number and it isn't really important. i see a lot of advertisements on the TV advertising 'get out of debt solutions.' i have to say resorting to one of those campaigns really isn't something i want to do. i do not plan to earn a lot of money in my life, im focusing instead on Karate and my study of Philosophy, both of which i am very passionate about. to me those to subjects are far more important than making money, however it is clear that most of us will have some money problems at some point, so i ask for any tips you can give me to avoid getting in debt in the first place and owing money to anyone, i don't want to end up in the same situation as so many others. as it stands at the moment, i try to keep my personal costs as low as possible, i do not own a car, i use public transport and ride a bike-that's a few thousand per year off already. i also rarely eat out, go to expensive social places, i don't drink/smoke/gamble ect for various reasons. so yeah that's me, apologies for the length but are there any other tips you give me to avoid debt? thanks in advance moreResolved Question: What the heck is this about?

Hey! I would really like to get referrals for the site freebiejeebies! Its an advertising site where once youve signed up, completed an offer, and then referred others to do the same, you can receive a free item, and for 31 referrals I can get an iPhone! to sign up please use the following link: http://apple.freebiejeebies.co.uk/313974 Here's some information below I found: HOW IT WORKS: 1. All you need to do is sign up (you only give details of age, email, name and address - so product can be delivered to you). 2. And then you simply complete an offer from the list shown after signing in, the most popular is Lovefilm.com as you only need to do a free trial and you can cancel before it ends so you do not pay a penny. (You do not have to do an offer from the link given on freebiejeebies, you can open a new web page and it will still work.) 3. Once you have completed an offer, you then have to refer friends to do the same. Once your friends have also done the 3 same steps as you, you will be given your free gift. Support from the website: Is this real? It most certainly is. It's an advertising scheme to get more people looking at some of the offers which we are affiliated with. Basically, when a user completes one of the offers on our site (e.g. LOVEFiLM) we get paid by the advertiser. This way, we can cover the cost of your free gift and still make a small profit. A lot of TV programmes and magazines have featured this sort of advertising, including BBC and the Wired magazine - so you can feel confident that it is genuine. Hello! I'm taking CPE2 classes and I've always had problems with compositions... I am trying to improve it, and that's why I'm asking for help. I must use a more appropriate and elaborated vocabulary. As I love british English I thought it would be better to ask you =D The proposal is: You have seen a commercial on your local TV station which appeard during a children's programme. You feel that an advertisement of this type is not suitable for showing on children's TV. Write a letter of complaint to the television company, explaing why you object to it and what you would like them to do about it. It must have 300-350 words. This is my rough draft: Dear Sir, I am writing to complain about the clothes advertisement currently being displayed on the children's TV channel, between one and other cartoon. The advertisement shows a girl, actually a young teenager wearing inappropriate clothes, with a high level of sexual insinuation. I feel that this claim is really irresponsible. For a start, this kind of clothing is unacceptable for a teenager. The advertisers also seem to have forgotten that it is been displayed on a children's TV channel. In my view, this type of advertising only encourages children to act like adults. Furthermore, the advert suggests that in order to be popular girls have to act in a unscrupulous way. I would argue that this can only encourage those children to maintain a kind of a sensual image. The kind of behaviour that you are encouraging is totally destructive, children might lose the best part of their childhood trying to be someone that there are not. Don't you think children's advertisement should encourage them to study, to have healthy habits? May I request that you have this advertisement taken down as soon a possible? While I have no objection to clothes being advertised, I feel strongly that this type if advertisement should not be allowed. I have already written to the company concerned, requesting that they remove this advertisement from their campaign and giving them my reasons in detail. I look forward to hear from you. Yours faithfylly, Amy moreResolved Question: before flat screen tv's, did they used to advertise quality of sound and images?
less or more? with flat screen tv's it seems they do it every single time, with the colours and picture quality and now 3d tv'si was only born in the 90's, so i'm used to flat screen adverts moreResolved Question: Why are we not encouraged to adopt children like we are dogs in shelters?
I am about to start ttc with my husband and i would like a large family. I started to wonder whether or not adopting a child would be an option. I could have a couple of children myself and then adopt a couple. I am struggling to think of why people would be against this. I get to have my babies and then i get to rescue some children. There are adverts on the TV for children in other countries and adverts for dogs in shelters, sometimes for money towards native abused children, but no adverts that simply encourage people to give native children a home. When it comes to dogs you are made to feel like you are personally responsible and guilted almost into getting a dog from a shelter! Would you ever consider adopting if you could have your own children? Why? Do you think adoption should be more widely advertised? Why should we feel responsible for dog in shelters but not children in orphanages? moreResolved Question: Is this how men's underwear should be advertised?

There was this advert and for the life of me cant remember what it was advertising. This guy would be sitting on his couch and whatever he was watchin on the tv would come "alive". It was like he became a part of what he was watching. At one point i think a subway or train zoomed past him. It would all stop when he pressed pause or something or his gf came in and you would realise he was in his living room. Know that it isnt a very good description of the advert but was wondering if anyone can remember this advert (could be still airing but am no longer in the UK so dont know), I just want to know cause i loved the song that was on it. Please help me! Thanks moreResolved Question: Why do we have to wait so long to get US tv shows in the UK?
It isnt fair that with all the advertising online and all my American friends going on about it that on Sunday Trueblood season 3 starts in the US. I am wondering why on earth us fans of such shows in the UK have to wait several months for it to be broadcast over here? Is it a legal thing or is it just that british TV companies can't be bothered to keep up to date with TV shows? No wonder people download such programmes on the internet, but now ofcourse we are too afraid to do this for fear of being sued or fined so its a no win situation really isn't it?!! Aside from flying to the US myself to watch it each week I cannot find anyway of watching it, even online it is only available to the US, its not not fair!!! Comments please!!! moreResolved Question: Has anyone been to an interview at 7 models OR A-List models in London?
I looked on gumtree.com for jobs yesterday and sent a head-shot to a couple of ads asking for models for film/tv extras, catalogue, billboard and music videos. Indeed, if you go onto gumtree now you'll see the advert probably. I got a reply asking me to come for interview and bring in some professional shots (if I have them) or to bring in £10 and they'll take 15-20 for me. They say there is no registration or booking fees. It seems too good to be true, however, I feel the only thing that would be dodgy is if I went, got the photos done for a tenner and then they have full rights to the photos. Then they say something like "sorry, but we didn't think you fitted the bill bbblah bla bla" and they now have 15-20 shots of me that I PAID THEM TO DO which they can use freely to advertise anything they want. Any advice? moreResolved Question: What's the website for cheap beauty products that advertises on tv?
I've seen it lots of times but I can't remember what it's called!Thank you! moreResolved Question: Where is the line drawn with product placement in the UK?
To explain my question, in the UK there's rules to product placement in TV. For example a character in 'EastEnders' couldn't guzzle a can on Red Bull. In 'Coronation Street' nobody shops at Tesco (always the fictional supermarket). But, then again there's freedom for people to drive round an array of cars. I mean, if a brand new Mercedes-Benz in featured on TV, then that's product placement, isn't it? And in sports, there's brand logos around the side of the pitch (in the case of football) and logos behind players when doing interviews. Perhaps someone working in advertising would be able to tell me. So, if anyway understand how it works and cares to explain, please do! Thanks in advance! moreResolved Question: In the rest of the UK (not England) are brands supporting your country for the World Cup?
Because here in England there have been LOADS of adverts on for brands saying that they're backing England... eg. http://www.talkingretail.com/images/stories/2010/March/mars_300310.jpg Mars Bar http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00094/carslbeg_94989a.jpg Carlsberg http://www.footballkitsonline.com/sony-world-cup-2010-commercial-dalglish-taylor-venables-pearce-brook/ Sony http://www.nationwide.co.uk/sponsorship/England/default.htm Nationwide Building Society http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Technology/World-Cup-SkyHD-Boxes-Designed-By-Gerald-Scarfe-Wayne-Hemingway-And-Phil-Daniels-Launched/Article/201004415615804?f=rss Sky http://worldcupgroups.net/kit-kat-%C2%AE-cross-your-fingers-tv-ad.html Kit Kat And I can't find images but there was one where Sky advertised to watch the world cup in style then the see-through silvery logo was in front of St. George's flag waving in the wind, and there are loads of sofa adverts like DFS or CSL or something where they're saying watch the world cup in comfort with St George's flag flying about, as well as some advert for god knows what where you can win an England Flag Towel or a football shaped BBQ etc. Just wondered whether it was the same in the rest of the UK? moreResolved Question: What is that African themed song from the 90's called?
I think it was the 90's, and the video is of people dressed as animals in body paint, then near the end of the video, they all jump of a waterfall I think, then all their body paint washes off. It's currently being used to advertise "wild Africa" on the English TV Channel "Watch" It would be great if someone could tell who sings it and what it's called. Thank you in advance for your suggestions. moreVoting Question: Seen UK top 5 broadband rip-offs? & how best to deal with 'em? What do you think is the best deal? How 2 beat?
I put this in Politics as Govt promise to roll out superfast broadband Is there a corrupt angle? UK's top broadband rip-offs, together with a few ideas on how you can combat them. 1) Super-fast broadband You might think super-fast broadband sounds amazing. Lightning-fast deals via next-generation fibre technology allow you to surf the net at more than 5 times the usual speed (50Mb). Unfortunately, however, super-fast broadband generally comes with a much higher price tag than packages with standard connection speeds. And I think, at £40 a month, providers are ripping us off - especially when you take into account a 8Mb package with a 10GB usage limit can cost less than £6 a month. The fact is, unless you need faster speeds for things like watching internet TV or downloading HD movies regularly, these packages probably have far greater capability than you really need. If you're not a heavy user, paying the higher monthly cost is a waste of money, frankly. 2) Restrictions on download limits Many broadband providers boast of unlimited download limits, only to accompany these bold statements with a little asterisk which, on closer inspection directs you to a fair use policy that restricts the amount you can actually download. Fair use policies are often a get out of jail free card for providers which advertise unlimited download limits, only to impose penalties or other restrictions if you exceed a certain threshold. And, to make things even more complicated, finding out about your own download habits can sometimes feel like trying to break into Fort Knox. For example, when I called my own provider to ask them about my usage, I was only told that I ‘need not worry'. This ambiguous phrasing may make little difference in my case, but in some circumstances you'll only realise you've exceeded your fair usage limit when you get a warning from your provider – or worse, when a hefty bill lands on your doormat. If you want to gauge your surfing habits, this data usage calculator from Virgin is a nifty tool which will give you an idea of your own monthly usage, which you can then use to get the best plan for you. Alternatively, providers Be and O2 offer super-fast broadband with truly unlimited download limits. 3) Broadband without a landline. If you move into a property without a BT landline in place, it will cost you £124.99 to connect yourself to the outside world, plus £10.50 a month in line rental, unless you commit to an 18-month contract. If you don't fancy forking out all this just to get connected, one alternative is Virgin media which, providing you live in a cabled area, will connect you without the need for a BT line (£30 connection fee applies). In addition, some providers such as Tiscali make use of local loop unbundling (LLU) to bypass BT and offer inclusive line rental. LLU enables ‘local loops' (or put simply, the cable through which you receive your broadband) to be freed up so other providers can design their own broadband packages to provide alternative, and often cheaper services. The third way you can get connected to the internet without the need for a BT landline is via a dongle . Dongles provide a convenient way of getting online, though from experience provide much slower download speeds than conventional broadband. Check out my latest article on dongles . 4) Tag on the line This is one of the sneakiest ways broadband providers can stop you from switching easily. They put what's known as a 'tag' on your line, which is difficult to remove. When you run into trouble, they often point the finger at your landline provider, who then points the finger back at the broadband provider, and so on. What many people don't realise is that you have to talk to the provider you want to switch to and ask them to remove it. Luckily, Broadband Choices offers a handy list of numbers on its website to contact with regards to having a tag on your line. 5) Long contract terms Last but not least, contract lengths for broadband, and indeed your mobile phone are slowly creeping up, and these days you'll often have to sign an 18 and sometimes a 24 month contract in order to secure the best deals. However, there is light at the end of the broadband tunnel, and if you don't want to be tied into a lengthy contract, you could always opt for a provider which doesn't impose one. For example, you can now get one-month only contracts from providers like Plusnet and Zen, which enable you to switch at any time. Obviously, your broadband service is unlikely to be 100% perfect, 100% of the time, but hopefully these small tips will help you on your way to a smoother surfing experience. This church advertises on the net asking people to donate money to help the needy. I will tell you who the needy are. It is run by Rev Dr Leslie Mary Trombly who has a lovely lifestyle in USA. She goes without nothing. Her hobby is running the church from her wheelchair online. It makes her feel important. Under her we have Abp Paul Baker, an old man now, married with kids and grandkids. He supposedly sorts out the money and gives it to those who need it etc. But this is what we found out about him, and all of this is proven. You can read an article about it. Sunday People newspaper, UK. Very Bad Men and other tv programmes are thinking of making a programme about this guy. His last church threw him out because of "money discrepancies". He has borowed huge sums of money from parishioners and others. One lent him £8000 and then he nagged her to lend him another £7000 which she refused. Most people have to work a year to earn this. This guy then insists that he is sorry but he cannot pay it back and pleads poverty. Yet in the meantime he has about 5 holidays a year, long expensive ones, buys cars, bought a boat, joined the golf club, and takes his family out for very expensive evenings. In other words the people who lend him money end up paying for his luxuries and lifestyle. Other churches in his area refused to deal with him because he didnt pay his bills or over charged. Other jobs he had always sacked him. He is almost bankrupt and owes the bank a great deal. Yet he continues to spend a lot. Usually other peoples money, which they think he will pay back, but he never does. Although this man is married with kids and grandkids and very old now, he also pesters women at the church for sex !! He told one much younger single woman that he loved her and wanted to marry her. He bought her an engagement ring, got officially engaged to her (forgetting to tell his wife). He also virtually moved in with her, making out to his wife that he had to work very long hours and that is why he was rarely at home. He did this for EIGHT YEARS and it only ended when the girlfriend ended it, it would still be going on now otherwise. He became so loathed and distrusted where he lived, and his wife knew that she was an outcast in the town, and she was scared that if they stayed he would keep pestering this woman to see him again. So they had to move a long way away. The church knows all this, yet they are happy to keep him. Happy for parishioners to trust him with their money and their lives. The fact that he uses people and lies to people and robs them doesnt bother them. What does this say about the church? moreResolved Question: How did we amass a debt of over 700 million ?

Hi. I've been wondering what the point of the new 3D TVs which have been released recently. If I can watch 3D DVDs through my normal TV, why would I need to go out and spend £2000 on a whole new TV? Whats the point? Also, I have a porjector. Will I be able to get the blu-ray quality on the screen through it? Would I be able to get 3D quality through the laptop also? I haven't tried yet. Thanks for answering :~) Please don't bother just posting the link saying that you had a similar problem recently and it really helped you. You obviously don't read the questions and are only advertising your crappy sites. So you will be getting a thumbs down from me on this question, and any other question I see your answer on. I don't know why I'm bothering writing this bit because I know you won't read it.Finally...if I am able to watch 3D through my projector, would I still need the bloody expensive glasses:? moreResolved Question: can't get anyone to buy my TV, should I just take it to cash converters?

I'm still looking into the products I could use after I get my Tattoo. I've seen products by 'Simple' advertised on tv and I looked them up on the internet for the ingredients and I wondered if they'd be any good. I've added the links to the lotion & the wash. Recon these would be any good or would they be a definate no no? I'm trying to recall what a UK TV advert was advertising and it's driving me insane trying to think what it is. Here's what I recall: - It ran quite frequently in mid/late 2009 and early 2010. - It featured a lone woman on a beach - or desert sand dunes. - She was not very young - but not really old either - I'd guess in her 30s / 40s - She was in some kind of discomfort. - The camera zoomed into a side profile of her face and then went to a graphic. - I think the graphic showed the advertised product being used at this point and some demo using the graphic of how it relieved the symptoms. - It returned to the view of the woman again - and she was now happy and smiling - the product had cured whatever was troubling her. - I think it was some kind of nasal spray but may have been a tablet or even something like yoghurt. That's about all I recall and not 100% sure about any of it. Does it ring any bells with anyone????? moreResolved Question: How much would a general advertisement on NATIONAL television cost on average?
Basically I'm doing my business a-levels and i need to talk about promoting etc, i can't find anywhere a reputable source of how much a national TV commercial would be, I found one which was estimated at £175,000. I wrote this in my first draft and my teacher wasn't sure on the figure as she wrote "for 1????" Anyway, so hopefully could anyone show some light? I know it depends what channel it is on and what programme it is during... but can I find an average price? If it's any help my product that I would advertise is a fragrance. Oh yeah, by the way this is for the United Kingdom. Thanks moreResolved Question: Why are TV companies aloud to advertise programmes?

I have moderate acne and I have tried nearly every product going on the market to help reduce them, or even make them go. However, none of these products claim to do what they do and seem to have no effect on my skin! I have been to the doctors and last year they prescribed me Panoxyl Aquagel 2.5 Benzoyl Peroxide. For the first 2 weeks it did have a small effect, and reduced some of the redness, however my acne still lingered. On about the 3rd week (approx) my acne had returned to how it normally is, and the gel had no effect! I've tried all the treatments advertised on the tv and in magazines etc, but they don't work! (e.g. Freederm Gel, clearasil, Acne Complex® Kit (Murad), etc Is there any thing that actually does work in the market or anything else the doctor can give me. (I don't really want any oral antibiotic as I'm only 12 and some pills have bad side effects, and I do not have severe acne. Thanks! 10 points for most useful answer moreResolved Question: So anyone tried the Ab Circle Pro?
I thinking of buying an Ab Circle Pro. Have seen it advertised on those infomercials and it really does look fun. Im more than aware that infomercials are designed by greedy marketers but all the same...I'd still really like on. On TV, they're being sold at about £150 when you include shipping but I've found a few sites offering them at about £60 but Im still a bit unsure whether or not to splash out. Has anyone bought or tried it out? I'd really love to hear some opinions. Thanks :D moreResolved Question: Sony Bravia/Blu Ray wireless/wifi USB?
