Resolved Question: "No Disc to Display" Should i Apeal £60 quid fine AND is £60 too much considering my friend got fined £50?

I seen a car advertised for sale last month (november) with MOT till March TAX till April 2010. when i got there everything looked fine and we exchanged cash for key/paperwork - upon doing so, he said theres a print out in there from the DVLA website stating he has paid 6months tax online and will be recieving it in the post - when he does, he will forward it onto me when it arrives to the address i gave him on the logbook - i got pulled today in a sainsburys car park when i went shoppin and he done checks, on tax disc and tyres etc and over the radio on insurance etc - he noticed i didnt have a tax disc in the window and asked where it was, i said the previous owner paid online before i bought the car off him, he said when he recieves it in the post he's guna send it to me......i got fined £60 quid !! do i have any grounds to apeal? also is £60 to much because my freind was "racing" a scooby WRX in a town centre and got pulled and she didnt have a tax disc in the window cos it was done by online and hadnt come........cant remember if she appealed the fine BUT she was only fined £50 !! how can prices vary for same thing? ! also i've been googling this and found on a police forum that one officer says to another potential officer who's considering appying, thats its a £30 on the spot fine - so why have i been fined £60? i know the fine was for not displaying a tax disc which is an offence and not fined for not having no tax....im not saying can i get out fine because it was taxed anyways......i know its an offence not to display but its not like it fell off n i coudlnt be bothered to pic it up or i coudlnt be bothered to buy a disc holder or the dog ate it.......i simply havent recieved one to display.....seems harsh to me more

Resolved Question: Why do videos for torrents preview wrong?

I have noticed that previews for videos I am downloading on torrents are wrong. Example: Download a compilation of racecars and when 5% of the movie is downloaded I can preview it in VLC... it shows people walking around... and if I wait longer, until the video is done...it is race cars as advertised. No where in the video is the "clip" of people walking around I saw when I was downloading it... whats the deal with this?It is different with each torrent, and none of the "previewed" videos are ones I have previously seen or downloaded more

Resolved Question: Ford Fiesta help required.?

Hi, I am thinking of buying a 2004 Ford Fiesta Black Edition from my friend. She has told me that it was serviced by Ford in July 08 and the only thing they said was that the brakes would need replacing in 6 months. She has also said that on a few recent ocasions that the car is overheating (Mainly on Motorway and at stand still). I am pretty clueless when it comes to cars and I was hoping someone may be able to help with a couple of questions. 1) Is the overheating going to be a big problem to fix and how much do you think it would cost to have mended. (she is not using the car at present) 2) How much does a full Ford Service cost and does it cover everything on the car? I have been looking for this model for a while and my friends car is in mint condition except for the above issues. Normally I would give it a miss but she has said I could buy it for £3000 which is a great price compared to others I have seen advertised for sale. Any advice would really be appreciated. (p.s) Sorry but a quick unrelated to this car question. If someone has not looked after a car by racing through the gears etc. Would it cause a great deal of damage to a 4-5 year old car? Its just I know of another car for sale (Fiesta Zetec) but I know my friend has not treated the gears etc with much care!!!) more
