I have heard that this amplifier's advertised RMS rating is lower than what it really runs at. Can anybody confirm for me that this is true? Has anyone ever used this amp and had experience with it? Thanks a lot!! Here is the amp: http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/vpid/3142541/vpcsid/0/SFV/30046 moreResolved Question: Would this Sub be good in your eyes?
This is the only sub which will fit well in my car. I have an old hatchback, 82 Celica, and a box will not fit so this is my only alternative to give me the room to cary my gear around in my boot still. Ive heard from a friend that 'slim line' subs have double the voice coil or something so it puts out almost double the strength of the sound waves as a normal sub.. This is the only one i can get so i really have no choice in the matter but the bottom line is: 1. What do you think 2. How COULD i make it pump out more or would it already be pretty good as is like its advertised? http://www.fusioncaraudio.com/australia/car-audio-1/active-enclosures-8/ress18-122-product.aspx moreVoting Question: Is this a good brand for car audio?
Amazon is advertising: a pair of kicker 6.5" 2-way speakers pair of kicker 6x9 speakers and a Kenwood 4-channel 720 W amp Is this system worth buying for that price? Link: http://www.amazon.com/KICKER-SPEAKER-KENWOOD-KAC8402-4-CHANNEL/dp/B001B3V7BG/ref=sr_1_25?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1261116992&sr=1-25 moreVoting Question: Power Wire and Fuse for Car Audio Amp...Is 60A AGU fuse enough to handle 1000 Watts?
I bought a Amp Kit on Ebay, it was advertised as 1200 watts..with a 8 gauge power wire. When I got it and opened it up the power wire was about 8 gauge but mostly plastic around the copper wire, I probably wont even use it as speaker wire...The fuse holder lets me switch out the fuse if it blows so Ive been looking around and might try a 80a AGU or 100 fuse if the 60 doesnt work? Or should I buy a new fuse block all together?...Oh I bought 2 gauge power wire legit this time about 20 feet to replace the "8 gauge power wire" I had... Still dont know what kind of subs and amp I want..been looking at the JL 12w0v2 new subs by JL audio same concept as the w7 but more affordable and the magnet is smaller...Amp still not sure? any thoughts...500 watt rms moreVoting Question: How much will installing cameras/audio on a car help keep police in check.?
Assuming you play all your cards right and dont allow the cop an inch of your constitutional rights. Refusal of all search, the right to remain silent. Refusal to speak without an attorney present, a request that no further questions be asked until attorney is present. 'Sir, am i being ticketed or am i under arrest, am i free to go" And a nice big bright yellow sticker on the drivers door advertising 'you are being recorded audio/visual' (assuming a 360* view inside/outside) Now honestly speaking, if all cards are played right, and the car is kept legal, registration, insurence, valid license, clean, newer. Bogus violation to attract enough attention to pull someone over. or even a legit on, 71 in a 70mph zone. Are you honestly going to be able to get into the car to search it with out a warrent or a dog to create PC. All in a fully legal fashion that will hold up in court on all constituional grounds? And will the police report back up what the video shows with out a whole bunch of BS made up by the police so they can try to claim they had probable cause. Assuming your searching for a bag of reefer or even quantity of bud. This is assuming your also dealing with state troopers only on the interstate.Cant u just answer the question. I take it thats your only weakness, being legitmately recorded unknowingly. Thanks. Will me having cameras keep you in line. My cameras sure are not going to show me commiting crimes. Only the police breaking my constitutional rights, as they often do, and given cameras in cruisers tend to go missing or were 'turned off at the time' at the right time for the officers in need of an escape, but mine would be getting sent to the internet were you wont be able to 'take it and use against me.' The bill of rights was designed to limit govt power from unruly acts... Would our founding father be proud of the police force we have these days, arresting over 800,000 minor cannabis offenders in 2008. Sorry you need to start thinking of the right of a human being. These loopholes arent going to protect you pigs for ever, Justice will be coming, get your act together and do your job by the book if your going to hold others by the book. moreResolved Question: How can I advertise my business in Las Vegas?

recently suffered total loss due to fire of my car and claimed on my insurance policy they came and valued the car after the accident and then took 300 quid off for policy excess however it clearly states in their policy that they cover permanently fitted radio/audio equipment to max of 500 euro , fair enough so i submitted my claim to cover the radio which was destroyed with the car as a result of fire , cost of cd/radio was 149.00 in argos but company now say that their definition of permanently fitted radio is one that has been fitted in the factory when car was made but my car is secondhand and had a sony cd/radio fitted when i bought the car . Now they say this is not covered as is not classed as permanently fitted , to me a permanently fitted radio is one that you cannot take out of the car unless you are replacing it , some cd/mp3 players are easily removed for security and can be taken from the car each evening but this is not the case with mine Anyone else out there been taken for a ride by their insurance company , was thinking of legal action as they should have specified factory fitted radio in their advertising instead of permanently fitted Had arguement with them for 30 mins but they kept saying that the radio/audio had to be factory fitted from new moreVoting Question: Has anyone tried the new Always Infinity pads?

I drive an ES 350, year 2008 I believe (just barely got it like 4 months ago) and it says at the bottom of the audio player MP3 and WMA. So, to me, that indicates that it can play both formats but when I burned a CD using only mp3 format, it stated that there was no music on the disc (in the car), even when it loaded correctly on several computers. I burned the cd using drag-and-drop from my Shared to my Computer folders: do I need to use a certain program (e.g. Nero) or does my car falsely advertise unplayable formats? As reported in the Guardian, last Thursday a 26-year-old Cheltenham man was arrested and the site, tv-links.co.uk, was closed . According to the Gloucester police, the arrest was carried out for alleged violations of Section 92 of the Trade Marks Act. The man was not charged and the case remains under investigation, says Eddy Leviten of the Federation Against Copyright Theft. He likened the activity of TV Links to someone who advertises a car that is not theirs. "The main issue is that the original material is stolen," he alleges. TV Links was collecting links to movies such as the new Nancy Drew film that were allegedly illegally recorded in the cinema and then hosted on Chinese websites, he said. The federation is pursuing the websites that host the material, but it is difficult to pursue sites not under English jurisdiction. The law governing the case is not clear. Section 92 of the Trade Marks Act is frequently used by the federation to pursue illegal CD and DVD copiers, but lawyers said the act relates to goods and has not been applied to audio-visual material that is not on a physical disc or other storage media. Under US law and the MGM v Grokster case in 2005, the US Supreme Court found Grokster liable for "inducement", encouraging others to infringe copyright. However, English law does not recognise inducement. But this case turns on the issue of linking and the Trade Marks Act. Out-law.com, the blog of international law firm Pinsent Mason says: "It is not clear how the provision of links will be prosecuted as a criminal offence." Alex, writing on the Impact blog from UK law firm Freeth Cartwright, agrees. "On the facts that we know so far, it is difficult to see how the providing of links to infringing copies of TV shows gives rise to a civil or criminal liability under UK law," he said. The Trade Marks Act may not fit the alleged crime. "The Trade Marks Act makes the unauthorised use of trade marks in relation to goods an offence; but this is a law that was written to catch counterfeit goods," said Kim Walker, head of intellectual property at Pinsent Masons. "The provision of links is surely a service, not a sale of goods. It seems an unlikely way to deal with the problem." Alex at Freeth Cartwright says: "Such links might constitute an offence under other parts of copyright law (distributing infringing copies or communicating copies to the public in the course of business), but it is again difficult to see how the facts meet these offences." moreResolved Question: New 'Sponsor Results' column?

i went to an audio store to get a cheap 39 dollar alarm 7 months ago, and they said they didnt have any but they will get me the 300 dollar alarm plus a stereo system plus tv sceens plus subwoofers plus tints plus lowering springs plus a lips kit for the car if i am willing to be their sponsors and advertise for them, after a constant battle of me saying no and them saying its free whats the problem? i ended up agreeing after recording they said it's free. thery installed many parts and i signed a few papers saying i signed up for a credit card; but i asked them and they said its not a credit card its a finance card for any future purchases. so i asked if there was any obligations and they said NO (this is on the recording) now i have 3 credit cards, a 10,600 dollar debt and they say they dont even know me. the credit card companies are siding with them (to earn a little money i assume). The BBB gave them an F grade for the same reason i just found out....can i do anything about this?okay....i know there is no such thing as a free lunch, but there are sponsorships that make it possible to recieve items for free for advertisement purposes. The signatures on the documents....i signed 2 that are to apply for a credit card....but they have 7 papers that have signatures on them but the signatures do not match. So...yeah...i know the recording is kinda like hearsay....but what do you guys think now? its currently in dispute with the credit card companies....hopefully something will happenis there anything else i can do? after the despute with the credit card companies settles and if they find in favor of the merchants i will just pay it off and lick my wounds but....i am NOT willing to pay off the items i DID NOT recieve....and the parts they put in my car are not equal to the price on the reciept...is there anything else i can do to reduce the debt using that knowledge? should i use that debt consolidator? moreResolved Question: How can online retailers sell stereo equipment so cheap?
Why does it seem that online stores/ebay stores sell car audio equip. so cheap? They are advertised as brand new/non refurb, yet the prices are so low. Whats the deal?Do you think any places actually sell refurb items, but market them as new? moreResolved Question: Why do we keep telling ppl to go buy their car audio at Walmart or Bestbuy??
I am guilty of that too, but it does not make it right! The majority of local car stereo shops offer better service, expert advice, warranty and installation. Most will even match prices with the big stores. Walmart and Bestbuy do not pay us to advertise for them, do they? So why recommend them on here? Also, they have a poor brand selection. And what's up with these car stereo websites that keep popping up? Why would anyone buy a car stereo online, then when it malfunctions, you have to pay to get it removed, shipped and WAIT for them to fix it or replace it, then pay to get it reinstalled? Local car stereo shops offer much more than personal attention and quality service. The owner is usually on location to handle any problem or customer service issue. They work with you, they want your business forever and the business of your friends and family. So shouldn't we start recommending them instead of recommending the big stores and those here today - gone tomorrow websites more
