Resolved Question: Can you deduct a portion of your auto expenses if you advertise your business on your car?
If a business owner decides to advertise on his/her personal car what can he/she deduct on his/her federal taxes? More specifically, if the ad is painted on can the cost of the paint job be considered part of that expense? Then afterward, is a certain percentage of the maintenance/gas/etc of the vehicle? ("Luxury" vehicle or other.) moreVoting Question: What can I do about this used car I purchased but haven't received the title?
ook I brought a used car for $3600 the car sux I got majorly ripped off I had to fix tha motor mounts immediately, the transmission slips and the lame dealer didn't even tell me the car had been wrecked but whatever that's my own fault. but ok he hasn't given me my tax, title, and license his ad stated that it would take 2 days to receive these things. I purchased this car at the beginning of july my temporary tags went out mid july and he gave me more he gave me tags that expire the 27th this month so he's been giving me the run around a long time he advertised himself as a dealer he has a actual office (i think) i went there but didn't actually go inside. He has a company name and all he flips wrecked cars full time now he keeps saying this im out of town lie and that he'll be back n a few days to give me my title but when that day rolls around he doesn't answer the phone. he said i would get my tt& l this friday and disappeared now i call his phone his vm says he's out of town til the 30th and will be back in town to handle anybodys problems on the 30th (makes u wonder how many ppl are looking for him) now all i have is a bill of sale and my temp tags go out this week so I wont be able to drive and i live in apts so my car is at risk of getting towed. What can i do?? I'm startin to question if he even has a title?? I dint even want the car anymore Im so tired of dealing with this scam artistoh yea and u forgot to add we agreed that he would do the tt& l thats y i didnt get the title off hand when we paid he was like go get insurance and bring it to me early in the morning and i will go get your plates and give you the title all that bs..oh anddd i paid through money order and have voicemails of him claiming i would be getting my plates and stuff1: his ad was plus tt&l but we negotiated that in the deal 2: one motormount was around $175 the others around $50 each i had to purchase them used from a junkyard $150 for all 3: if he doesnt have the title why wont he just say so 4: he can give me temp tags but he's not going too because he's dodging me 5: I asked him had the car been wrecked he said no a mechanic later told me moreVoting Question: Does Joe the Conservative need Liberals around?
Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of water, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised. All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance - now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe's bacon is safe to eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry. In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total contents because some crybaby liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for the laws to stop industries from polluting our air.He walks on the government-provided sidewalk to subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because some fancy-pants liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a conributor. Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some stupid liberal didn't think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune. It is noon time and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some godless liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression. Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because some elitist liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime. Joe also forgets that his in addition to his federally subsidized student loans, he attended a state funded university. Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal fought for car safety standards to go along with the tax-payer funded roads. He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers' Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electricity until some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification. He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, cheese-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to. Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn't mention that the beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day. Joe agrees: "We don't need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I'm a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like. i purchased a 2nd hand car from a garage the other day,the 1st guy i spoke to said he would knock off £40 for the hp check etc,i was asked to leave a deposit of £300 which i paid by credit card, nothing was mentioned at this time. when i went to collect the next day a different guy finalised the paperwork and told me oh you made the deposit by credit card theres a 3% charge for that,i told him i wasn't told that at the time but he added £9 on to the bill, there was also a documentation fee of £40 which i thought was the amount they were knocking off. They didnt seem to know what they were doing and forgot to charge me for the road tax, which they have since been in touch and want me to go back today and pay,i asked them what the documentation fee is,and i was told its for the internet advertising and price,(the car was slightly dearer on the forecourt than on autotrader so i pay a bit extra to get it for that price)the valeting, checking the oil and water and the 3 month warranty you get,i also asked for the paperwork for the hpi check(as last time i had one done i got paperwork)but wass told that is covered with the warranty. Surely i shouldnt be paying for them to advertise the car? also if the hpi is with the warranty then as i was told he would knock this fee off are they trying to charge me for what they originally told me they would knock off the price. Also they never gave me a receipt only the receipt for my deposit and the card slips from when i paid my balance i dont know if this is normal what they are doing as ive never had it happen before when buying a car so want to know before i question them about it today moreVoting Question: How much is the Pro Sports Tax in America?
How much do I spend a year on Pro Sports (and I never even watch them)? Use Phoenix for an example. The tax payers build the stadiums and all the profits go to private parties. I have no choice as to what utility company I use, nor does anyone else, but they run commercials at every break telling me how they are working hard to lower my rates. Same with my health care. Cigna was my only choice. Why are they sponsoring sporting events with my money? Every commercial is taking money out of my pocket and giving it to somebody in the Pro Sports gravy train or a New York advertising executive. I'm guessing that if you add it all up it has to be a significant amount of money that I have to shell out for nothing in return, and I mean nothing. Don't tell me these people are teaching my children values or are benefiting society in any positive manner! Next question. How is it the Tea Party members are not outraged by this Socialized Pro Sports? By definition, they should be going after and boycotting all the corporations sponsoring sporting events and fighting tax payer funded stadiums. I guess they are just a bunch of racist. Maybe this is why Buick cars are so over priced - and Tiger Woods won't even drive one LOL. moreVoting Question: Does Joe the Conservative need Joe the Liberal around?

Okay so here is my problem, I was in the process of purchasing a new car and before doing so did my homework for about a month on the car I wanted, competitive pricing, negotiating fees and from the dealer actual cost and came across info on rebates provided by the manufacturer to lower the price of cars that weren't moving so good. I found the car I was looking for advertised online for 21,000.00 now it had a rebate on it of 2250.00 After bringing the advertisement in to the dealer they tried to sell me the car for a higher price, I played the game and then at the end pulled out the online printout which showed the car being sold and advertised for 21,000.00 they didn't know what to say so the salesman says let me check with my mgr. He comes back says they will honor the price and then had me initial off on the sheet next to the price as well as a reduced destination fee but I didn't initial on the packaged fee they had listed as I still had questions - so here goes... When I received my buyer purchase order I noticed that next to the model of the car they had it listed as costing 24,999.00 a few lines under that they had the ny state sales tax calculated from the 24,999.00 totaling 2218.6 okay so I'll stop here (There was alot of other crap listed after) but my concern is this when I questioned this they said the price had the rebate included in it when they calculated the sales tax.......? Now first of all I don't know how they came up with 24999.00 being the price of the car when the salesman and I negotiated at a firm 21,000.00 but from information that I pulled it says the rebate is not to be included in the final price of the "car", that they should of calculated the sales tax against the final price we agreed upon and then deduct the rebate from that price. Is this true I've gotten this from many resources even contacted the NYS Dept of Tax and Finance and they agreed but I just wanted to throw this out and see what other thoughts were out there... thanks! moreResolved Question: Does Joe the Conservative enjoy the "safety" Liberals bring him?

I want to buy a car, i just need a cheap runaround to get me from home to work to college to the store etc. I don't get how cars can be "worth" so much though, like 10, 12, 15 year old cars with 150,000+ miles are still worth thousands, eh?? So whenever i look online at used cars they show me ones for 8, 9, 10+ thousand $'s, but if i ask to search under that they show me pieces of crap. I don't understand the whole buying process and am trying to know as much as i can because i know dealers and that take advantage of people who they think don't know a lot about cars and such like. I just want a car for under $3000 that runs, hasn't been in a wreck or anything (i don't mind cosmetic scratches and dents etc but i don't want a front wing smashed in or anything) I don't want to have to spend a fortune on it, like replacing the gear box or if the floor is rusty etc. It just needs to run and last for 2 or 3 years basically. I just need help with where to look, I've tried eBay, auto-trader, dealer websites etc, but without much luck. I'm not looking to buy a car online without seeing it first but i just wanted a couple of definite places to look to save aimlessly looking round dealer lots. Also the websites say things like ...."Sales Tax, Title, License Fee, Registration Fee, Dealer Documentary Fee, Finance Charges, Emission Testing Fees and Compliance Fees are additional to the advertised price." what are all these extra things and how much are they? if the car is advertised at $2,995 will i end up paying like $5000 when all this extra stuff is added? Someone please advise me.Thanks 'theneelster' for your answer, I didn't think of craigslist, I dont need a super fancy one, i just wanted a little sedan type corolla or something like it, i didnt want a great honking truck or SUV (probably the only person in texas who doesnt). I would be fine doing general maintenance like oil change and tyres etc but i just wanted to know how to check for other things like if the floors rotten and if the gear box will last or the engines about to go bang, coz unless i was definitely planning on buying it i cant afford to have a mechanic look at every car i see so i wanted to be able to know enough myself to decide whether its a viable option. moreResolved Question: Do conservatives need whiny Liberals and they don`t know it?

Hubby wants to sell his MK2 Vauxhall Astra and upsize for our growing family! He was offered a disappointingly small amount from the Trade Sales yard as a trade-in and so wants to try selling it privately to get a better deal. It may be a few years old but its in fantastic condition, cheap to run, reliable and has full MOT/Tax so we feel we could get a decent price for it. I've looked at Autotrader but the advert fees seem a bit steep. Is it worth advertising on Ebay or other sites? Australiann answers only. What I mean is if say (this may seem strange) you advertise in the local paper for people who don't have time to advertise their items (eg. houses, cars, boats, caravans, etc.) or they don't know how to use the Internet/Ebay. They ring you up & you ask them what they want in their Ebay listing etc. then u negotiate with them a percentage of that sale. Would this idea work? http://thehill.com/opinion/columnists/dick-morris/103373-obama-vs-press-freedom A May 24 working paper on “reinventing” the media proposes that the government impose fees on websites such as the Drudge Report that link to news websites or that it tax consumer electronics such as iPads, laptops and Kindles. Funds raised by these levies would be redistributed to traditional media outlets. By now, the Obama MO should be clear to all. As he has done with the banks, AIG and the car companies, he extends his left hand offering subsidies and then proffers his right laden with regulations. Should the government follow through on Leibowitz’s ideas and enact special subsidies and tax breaks for news organizations, it will induce a degree of journalistic dependence on the whims of government not seen since the days when the early presidents bestowed government advertising on favored periodicals. moreResolved Question: middleclassman << Best Pro-Liberal Story ever.?

FYI: I live in India. Please Note: I am neither Racist nor Casteist. But I am person with several genuine problems and absolute bewilderment. I am website designer, and I have extremely good communication skills. I rate myself as a very good at civic sense and social manner awareness. I am trying to run my small family (4, including myself) with the earnings out of my shoestring business. I am always polite to my clients, I make sure they are comfortable with every technical aspect of their website, I make sure the site is Standards Compliant for the client's sake, despite them not even knowing what W3C Standards are. I try to keep my prices as comfortable as possible, and relatively low. Yes, I am somewhat more expensive than the general market, but the cost of having an unruly, brutal joke of a messy website "design" is more than the price of owning a good website. Also, I never spit on the road, refuse to relieve myself on the pavements like so many other people do despite desperate urgency, always say "excuse me" before I do anything remotely assertive. I respect women, pay my taxes on time. Despite all this, I barely manage to scrape by, financially speaking. I am usually at the mercy of my landlord, and begging all the people I owe money to, to wait "just a few more days". Then, I get a small respite in the form of a new client or two, and I am forced to spend all the money on my commitments. This basically leaves no chance for me to improve upon my life, or the conditions therein. I am always stuck in this vicious cycle of debt and repayment. Add to my woes is the fact that we as a family have no source of support from our relatives, and hence zero investment capability; I can't even afford to advertise my services in the local newspaper classifieds. I am forced to rely on the poorly maintained and extremely unreliable public transport system, since I don't have a vehicle. Yet, I do try to work hard, against all odds. CONTRAST THIS WITH THE FOLLOWING: All I have to do is to take a short walk onto the main road, and I see multiple swanky cars on the road. In a majority of these expensive vehicles, there are people who are unruly, wear arrogant looks on their faces, and drive like shit. A lot of them don't look educated (you can tell the difference, though it sounds preposterous). They don't hesitate to pull down the window and spit copious paan onto the roads. They don't hesitate to open up their fly and start spewing on to the footpath, even in the presence of women on the road. They wear large chunky jewellery on their sweaty unhygienic bodies (trying to demonstrate their wealth), but display the social sense of a bacterium. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON! How is this happening? Will I ever succeed in life? Will I ever overtake these creatures? And pray tell me HOW _SO MANY_ of them are ending up so RICH! This is not a rare phenomenon anymore... so my curiosity... moreResolved Question: Painless solution to the economic crisis?
David Cameron says there are tough times ahead, well here's how we cut the pain! We all know the economy and Country is hemorrhaging to death as a result of benefits fraud, a by product of New Labours incompetence. Here is the solution to eliminate fraud AND fund better social services AND get the Country back on it's feet in one simple, inexpensive programme. Most people know a benefits cheat working whilst claiming, fit to work but idle, driving round in a car at the tax payers expense or professionals who know the system and its loopholes, and use them to deprive the elderly, sick and genuine needy of the support they deserve. Lets have a Government sponsored "Fix the frauds" campaign, Nationally advertised, with email addresses and telephones to confidential expose the crooks. We do not need public sector employees, cut the wage bill, we can do it for the benefit of the sick, needy, homeless, lonely and those in distress. Give a bounty of £100 for each successful prosecution. Everyone is a winner, the Country gets back on its feet, and social services get the funding to deliver to the taxpayer great value for money. What do you think? The Electorate-the evidence on which to prosecute comes from the Government investigators acting on information. You keep your kneecaps, they get nicked! I had a baby in November 2009. Since my boyfriend got his W-2 before me (in January), we decided to let him claim our son and have H&R Block do his taxes so we could get a RAPID refund. The preparer didn't know what he was doing. He ended up opting him out of the Earned Income Credit (without asking), typing in 2 months for the amount of time our son was "living in the home" for 2009 and accidentally checked 'yes' for the question "Did this person make more than $3500 in 2009?". When he was all finished he told us my boyfriend's refund would be about 900 dollars. I thought something was wrong, but didn't say anything and took his word for it. We paid for the rapid loan and we were expecting to get the money on our card within 2 days. I told my mother, who has been doing my taxes for years and never made a single mistake, and she pointed out that we were, in fact, supposed to get the EIC and Child Tax Credit. She got online and printed out the Publication from the IRS's website stating that if a child was born in 2009, you put 12 months, regardless of what month they were born in. They called my boyfriend 6 days later and told him there was a hold on the card and he had to come back up there to sign a paper to take the money off hold. We went back up there and showed them the mistake they made and ask that they amend them. The manager fixed it and gave us the forms to mail out and we asked if we still had to pay the fee they charged us to do this. He stated that we still have to pay the fee because that money is going to them for filing it originally. Yet H&R Block has the "Maximum Refund Guarantee" which states that if they don't give you your maximum refund you're entitled to, the tax preparation is free. We called the headquarters and even they are refusing to give us the money back. We mailed off the amended form and we are STILL waiting to get the check in the mail. We really needed that money to get our air conditioning fixed in our only car, not to mention we have a 6 month old and its 80 degrees outside in Virginia Beach right now. My question is should I take them to court? Why should we have to pay them for something THEY screwed up? I'm really not trying to make a big deal out of this, but this is just ridiculous and not fair. In my eyes, its false advertising for them to make a promise and not live up to it. moreResolved Question: On average, what % discount can be reduced from a new car price when you offer upfront cash?

I'm going to be staying at least from April 22nd to April 26th, possibly longer, although there is a vague possibility of checking out a day or two early if I am offered a place to stay by a relative. I DO NOT CARE if there is a layer of filth on the floor, I'm cuddling rats, and playing whack-a-mole with cockroaches. I do not care if the staff is rude. I do not care if I have to do an Olympic-worthy run through a bevy of hookers and drug dealers to get to my room. I want a bathroom (preferably with a tub), electricity, and a bed. Don't even need a tv, though I'd imagine its pretty standard. I've had pretty dark times in my past, so rest assured that such an environment wouldn't ruin my vacation at all; I'm trying to avoid sleeping in my car, because I think that would. In the past, when I've gone places, I've done internet research on motels and hotels, and always found something cheaper advertised on a sign when I got there . . . I remember once stopping in Illinois and a front desk staff member assuring me I'd find nothing cheaper than his $55 a night. At the next interstate exit, I found one for $24. In my experience the cheapest rooms are unknown motels that don't show up online, so I'm sort of interested in those. It's just me staying and I am a smoker so a smoking room is ok, but I don't smoke inside at home so a nonsmoking room is fine as well. No pets. No need for amenities. Anything within about 15 miles is good; further is also ok if its cheap enough to make up for gas. I plan to go to Disneyland or other touristy places, but the primary function of the trip is meeting long-lost family. I've found a room that is listed as $35 for weekdays and $40 for the weekends; after taxes the four-night stay comes to about $168. I know that's not bad, but I've already taken too many "little luxuries" regarding this trip. I didn't do comparative rates on my rental car at all, so I'm trying to trim the fat. Thanks. moreResolved Question: Are you guys getting tired of BHO and his stimulus/incentivizing the economy?
Does BHO get it? The government is spending more than it is bringing in. And he wants to stimulate purchasing green products and giving tax credits for buying new cars and buying new homes. Does the government have enough money to keep propping up the economy? It looks to me like BHO and needs to step back and let the free market enterprise system work. Any stimulus or subsidy or incentives are creating artificial demand and not real recovery. It might be temporary remission but there is no economic recovery. If there is real recovery, why is the U6 18%? And if BHO stimulus did work as advertised why is he trying to convince us it did? ...would you want marijuana to be worth $100.00/oz, or $5.00/oz? The inability of certain redneck hicks on here to fully reason through a topic (without blatant generalizations) disturbs me, but I'll try not to let that interfere with the more important issue. Now, because my last question was cut off horribly short, here is my proposal: 1. Legalize marijuana. 2. Restrict it, exactly as we do alcohol. 3. Tax it. The "you can't tax marijuana" theory is a fallacy. I can grow tobacco and distill booze, but I do neither of these things, nor do many other people. I would simply buy it and pay the tax as a convenience charge. 4. Driving, advertising, and manufacturing of marijuana remains a crime. Possession does not, assuming you are of legal age and not operating a motor vehicle. Open container = sack or pipe in the car. It's really not that big of a leap, folks. 5. Tax the crap out of it. Think about it... a pack of 10 joints, sold for $20.00, is still cheaper than the price at which cartels are moving it, and would last a casual smoker several weeks. $10.00 of that can go to taxes. 6. Of that $20.00, $10.00 is taxes, $5.00 is for the farmer, $5.00 is for the roller. 7. If you make it a legal requirement that only HAND-ROLLED marijuana may be sold in stores, you are employing thousands of people in the lower-income demographic. Now, disregarding the amount of money that we spend to incarcerate, feed, clothe, house, and guard all those "hardened pot-smoking criminals", consider the money generated FOR the economy, for the government, and for society. There are a dozen reasons why this will not work, if you completely ignore the idea of addressing the problems point by point. There is *every* reason why it will work, for the good of humanity, if you allow it to. moreResolved Question: (United States) If Marijuana legalization came up for a vote...?
...how would you vote? Of course, I have an opinion on the subject, so I'd ask you to keep the following in mind: 1. Marijuana has a safety record superior to aspirin. Far superior, actually. 2. It is physically impossible to fatally OD on marijuana. You simply cannot (and would not) smoke enough, quickly enough, to approach the LD50. Yes, even with those legendary strains that your buddy's buddy can get from some guy in the government. Valium, prozac, alcohol, zanex... all addictive, all potentially fatal. Go ahead, rationalize that. 3. The illegality of marijuana drains billions from the economy. Every recreational user that we have imprisoned has to be fed, clothed, guarded, monitored. They must be provided with recreation. Prisons must be built for them. They are fined and fired. Their families lose income, and they may lose their family member. 4. Everyone that wants marijuana can already get it. 5. Legalizing it would take the street value from ~$100.00/oz to ~$5.00/oz. This is bad news if you are a Mexican drug cartel that specializes in the rape, torture, and murder of human beings. Your cash crop is no longer worth the sh** you used to fertilize it. MY PLAN: The law is to state that marijuana may be legal under the following conditions: 1. No advertising. Anywhere. It is not necessary. 2. Sold in pre-rolled boxes of 10 joints. These boxes are sold for $20.00 each. They MUST be hand-rolled. 3. $5.00 from every box is tax to get us out of the god-forsaken deficit this nation is running. 4. The rest goes to the AMERICAN growers and AMERICAN rollers that operate legally and have families to care for, versus drug cartels that murder innocent people. 5. Same laws that apply to alcohol apply to pot. No operating heavy machinery, including cars. "Let the punishment fit the crime."If you find this argument compelling, please click that little star below it. The only way this will EVER happen is if people start raising mortal hell in open society. We cannot do this in "real life" because of the stigma, but we can bloody well embrace common sense on Yahoo. moreVoting Question: What do you think of the $2-4k used car business right now?
Ive been involved in small car lots before. Even helped start and worked at one for 2 years back in 2006. We sold 20-25 cars per month out of that store. Nice building, garage, nice lot and good location. - The building can still be available to me. ($850/month) Other than tax time, what do you think of going back into that business, but instead of carrying 30 cars like we did, maybe 10 + Quick Detailing. I know how to advertise online, and offline and spread the word. I was thinking of adding a cleaning business, Quick detailing for $40 per car, done in 35-40 minutes etc. With the economy, what do you think of that combo? Employing maybe 1 person full time, and 2 on part-time income. Holding it at this until building the business to possibly carry 15 cars paid for. If you want specifics on income, Id say full time 500/week and part time 250/week each for a while. Thanks. moreResolved Question: Do conservatives need crying complaining liberal pest around?

Meaning do you think the Obama that was marketed to the American public in 2008 is the same Obama pursuing all his current policies. Here's a short list of flip flops: 1. I want a specific type of car, and apparently they are the hottest thing now because as soon as I see one advertised or I see one in the lot, when I go the next day to see it it's gone. I have an appointment tonight with a car dealer that is an hour away from the main city, so I am hoping I have a better chance at buying it. I am pre-approved with my credit union for any car, as long as I put 30% down of whatever amount is on the buyers order. If I test drive this car tonight, what can I say to the dealer to get them to hold the car until next Friday ( 9 days) when I get my income tax refund? I already haggled the price on the phone and hung up and they called back and accepted my offer and faxed me the buyers order to send to my bank and they faxed the carfax and dealer records on it. I basically chewed them down $3000 in price, I am going to test drive the car, and won't be able to get the draft from my bank until next Friday and i am afraid they will sell the car. Is there anything I can say to get them to hold it? Like can I offer to write a check as a deposit to hold and I will just bring in the draft that Friday for the whole amount of the car? I was also going to trade in one of my cheap cars that is paid for, so should I say I need to request the title for the trade in so I will need at least 7-9 days to request a copy of the title?? I am bringing in the trade in tonight for them to value while I am test driving the car. Also saying buy whole stock i buy a t shirt at £1.00 would selling them for £15.00 each be ok? and buying a hodded top for 3.50 and selling them for £18.00 is that a good price? I know i will need some capital to buy stock and printing equipment as well as setting up a website. I do have a long term plan which includes a lot of promoting incl' Car shows, fashion shows, word of mouth, leaflets also self advertising ( wearing a t shirt which company contact info ) as well as having my car carrying signs about the company. My ideal annual turnover is £248.725 with the wholesale costs, promoting costs, web hosting and printing costs deducted. How come tax would be taking off? I would be proposing this idea towards a family member who runs multiple businesses and might be interested in this venture. also more costs that i need to take into account please let me know :) moreVoting Question: I'm thinking of running an underground business-could I get away with this?
I'm a student and live in a large college town. I just inherited a cabin out in the country from my aunt. The cabin is about two miles from the nearest home and at night is not noticeable from the main road unless your looking for it. What I’m considering is opening a bar for the 18 to 20 year old college students, advertised by word of mouth direct invites. It would be run one night a week in said home. Again, due to the fact that it is far away from the nearest neighbors, barely visible from the main road at night, plus the fact that in the middle of the night, passing cars are few and far between, someone reporting the noise/party isn’t going to happen. A cop could drive by and not notice anything. I have no conscience objections, because I have a few BAC calculators and attendants would be handing over their keys at entry, getting them back when and only when their safe to drive. After looking at overhead (Cost of expenses for alcohol, dishes, heat/AC, and electricity) my projection is I can easily make 500 dollars tax free cash profit PER NIGHT. And that’s a conservative estimate. Sparing me lectures, could I get away with this? Again, think of this as an exclusive club. Atendents are able to come via direct word of mouth invitation from me ONLY, so no he said, she said, mama said about it. If I didn't invite you, you get to meet the exit door. Ergo, if some wrong person does hear about this occuring, they won't know the when, where and who. And, last but not least, if I'm caught, I can make a deal with the DA. Lets say I have a hundred plus people drinking underage weekly. I have the power to give up each and every one of them in exchange for dropped charges, and the DA will take my offer. Huge crackdown on underage drinking plus DA's name in the paper can only help him, especially in an election year. So, your thoughts? moreResolved Question: Just started a basic business, tax advice?
