Open Question: I need ads: 3 mediums or more for the same product (ASAP?)?

I need ads: 3 mediums or more for the same product (ASAP?)? I have this paper (5-7 pages) I have to write for Advertising due in about a week. (Summer classes stinkeroo like that.) and I have to compare advertising for the same product but, different mediums/outlets/platforms. For example, I need TV, Radio, and subway ads all for Bud light. I can find TV on YouTube but, I still need two others to coordinate with each other. I've been listening to radio ads and taking pictures on the subway and they don't match up. I could also use internet, magazine, newspapers billboards. Does anyone have any ideas on how to go about this? I tried getting my friends to help by Emailing me what they see on the subway and billboards but, they got nasty and and said it's my project (umm, yeah, but, I still have to WRITE A 5-7 page paper). I've tried Emailing radio stations asking for ads and they blew me off. And you cannot just google and get radio ads, I tried. On the subway, I saw budlight in two languages, Hertz Car Rental, Red Bull and Tropicana, so if anyone can Email me MP3 of their radio ads or a JPEG of other types of ads from those companies I will be eternally grateful and I think there just might be 10 points in it for you. michal_bas_avraham at yah00 d0t c0mReply Perfect, that's spam more

Resolved Question: I asked God for a sign?

Our business is not doing great. We are thinking about closing it. Today should be our last day. I asked God in prayer to give me a sign and/or a miracle to kieep this open if it is meant to be. Then I went to work. We were a tad bit busier than usual, but then this guy walked in holding two signs for us to put on our billboard. That wasnt the sign I was expecting. But, could this be? We have been fighting to have that sign put up for months, and today, closing day it appears!? Odd. In addition to that, we advertised in craigslist that today would be a day to purchase the equipment as a garage sale style. Not one person showed up. I checked craigslist, our ad is still there. more

Resolved Question: What do you think about the billboards for the "Salt" movie?

I read an article about how the advertising billboards for "Salt" were missing Angelina Jolie. It's so true!!! One shows a tiny sliver of her face only. I think the movie billboards should show her whole face or her character in an action pose or something. I find the black and white movie billboards I've seen rather lackluster. If I wasn't a huge Angelina Jolie fan, then I wouldn't be interested in the movie based on the movie billboards. I think it is a case of poor advertising. I like the movie trailer though. And if you want to leave any positive commentary on Angelina Jolie, that would be most welcome. ^_^ more

Voting Question: Anyone else here used to be a drinker but now can't stand the taste, smell and sight of it?

I used drink at all parties, around company and for any occasion. Now, I can't stand anything having to do with alcohol...the taste, the smell, billboards and posters advertising it and people that are regular drinkers. I did a complete 180 degree turn when I drank my last beer. more

Resolved Question: Stressed over my FUTURE CAREER!! Help!?

I am about to be a Senior in high school, and I am completely stressed over what my future career will be. In the last three years, I thought I was going to be a chiropractor (just wanted money), then I switched to architect (don't like math), and NOW I am looking into advertising which I am starting to have doubts about. I just don't know what to do, so allow me to ask a few questions... 1.) Firstly, is advertising in itself a field with a bunch of subcategories that I must choose from? Because I really don't have any clue what part of the advertising universe would be best for me. I know that I am good with Microsoft Office (especially Publisher), I am pretty familiar with Photoshop, I have good work ethic, and I love using my creativity for making brochures, billboards, etc. I can draw pretty well, but I am no Micheal Angelo, and I have not really created and edited videos before (that doesn't mean I wouldn't be interested in learning how to). I do want to get into photography also. 2.) Does a job in advertising pay well at all? I don't want to work 70 hours a week and only make 30k a year. I hear that you have to work your way up in the advertising world by starting out with small, low-paying jobs. If this is true, how long would it take to work my way up to a worthy financial status? 3.) What degrees and courses should I shoot for in college? May colleges have advertising listed as one of their courses, but does that cover everything? Would courses in business administration and similar things also be necessary? Thank-you and I hope that someone out there can provide legitimate answers to the questions above. This student needs some help!! more

Resolved Question: What if Obama were to nationalize pharmaceutical companies?

Along with his endeavors to nationalize the finance, health, and auto industries, I think he would do well to work on drug companies. The industry claims prices are so high because of research costs. But any of you who have ever worked in a hospital or doctor's office or clinic know what waste the drug companies expend on freebies, including lunches and dinners out for whole departments. It all comes under advertising. If the pharmaceutical companies did not spend so much on advertising-- tv, magazines, radio, billboards, promo items, etc.-- drug costs would come down significantly.Do they even need to advertise? The only people who need to be kept up to date on new meds are doctors. Anyone can search online for interactions and applications and counterindications.TV and magazine ads just create more hypochondriacs daily. Exactly what the drug companies want.Look around your doctor's office next time and see all the free gizmos you pay for. more

Resolved Question: Has anyone been to an interview at 7 models OR A-List models in London?

I looked on gumtree.com for jobs yesterday and sent a head-shot to a couple of ads asking for models for film/tv extras, catalogue, billboard and music videos. Indeed, if you go onto gumtree now you'll see the advert probably. I got a reply asking me to come for interview and bring in some professional shots (if I have them) or to bring in £10 and they'll take 15-20 for me. They say there is no registration or booking fees. It seems too good to be true, however, I feel the only thing that would be dodgy is if I went, got the photos done for a tenner and then they have full rights to the photos. Then they say something like "sorry, but we didn't think you fitted the bill bbblah bla bla" and they now have 15-20 shots of me that I PAID THEM TO DO which they can use freely to advertise anything they want. Any advice? more

Resolved Question: New car insurance bumper sticker?

I recently switched insurance providers, and got my proof of insurance info in the mail today. Along with my card and everything I got a bumper sticker that has nothing but the company's name on it. A note was attached that said I have to put it on my car as a proof of payment. I'd really rather not turn my car into a billboard if I don't have to. Does anyone know if this is in fact a requirement, or if it's just an advertising ploy? more

Resolved Question: Why isn't there ever any advertisements for open source software?

How come we never see any commercials or bus ads for open source software? You can't argue with FREE. I was thinking about advertising Open Office at my college the other day. If I were to put an ad for OpenOffice 3 on a billboard, would I get in trouble? Someone needs to build awareness of the existence of open source alternatives.OpenOffice 3 - Another reason to tell Microsoft to suck it. Voting Question: How do I choose specific keywords for a business that does a lot of different things.?

I am trying to optimize my website for my marketing agency. We do logo design, web design, advertising campaign creation and design, consultation, we can create any kind of marketing materials from business cards to billboards. So now I have to think of three keywords/keyphrases to optimize my site for. What do I choose without leaving stuff out? Most of my business is local, should I include my town in the keywords? more

Voting Question: If Conservatives claim that drawing Mohammad is freedom of expression?

Then why when anyone of any other religion or atheism advertises their belief in public areas such as posters or billboards? Christians always complain about it saying it's an attack to their religion and demand it to be removed or to stop advertising. Im not a Muslim but isn't this is just typical another example religious hypocrisy that Christians in America want freedom of religion only for them and no one else? An Example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiV2JQtsjtMThis also proves the insecurities of both Christianity and Islam more

Resolved Question: If atheism isn't a religion who teaches you to be your own god, then why does it have this creed?

"There's probably no God... now stop worrying and enjoy your life" A controversial advertising campaign featuring the slogan 'There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life' was launched today on Britain's trains and buses. But despite its gloomy undertones the advert creators said it had a positive message which encouraged people to enjoy life instead of worrying about what happened afterwards. The £140,000 atheist advertising campaign will be plastered across 200 bendy buses in London and 600 others across England, Scotland and Wales. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1106924/Theres-probably-God--stop-worrying-enjoy-life-Atheist-group-launches-billboard-campaign.html#ixzz0ntmASZEk I thought atheists said atheism is NOT a religion. Only a religion has a creed. Many people commited many crimes as a result of this message: "stop worrying and enjoy your life" Many commited rape, theft, muder, robbery, kidnapping because they thought they are their own ultimate authority and everything they do is not wrong. I ACCUSE ATHEISM OF BEING THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL IN AMERICA (AND BRITAIN)Braze Cida, you missed the rest of the details. Don't take it out of context. And if that is not the official creed of atheism, why did atheists post advertisements containing this messageThe definition of "atheism" in the dictionary is a false definition. And I have proved it by this questionChristians who post "God or hell!" advertisements and atheists who post atheist advertisements are both extremists and both insaneReligion and Atheism should be kept outside the advertising industry. Advertising is only for companiesReligion and Atheism should be discussed in private. Not advertised. Oh, and I'm a Christian. Do not forget not every Christian is an extremist more

Resolved Question: Is it ethical (I know it's illegal - vandalism) to write comments on political signs?

Around election time, I'm always seeing a bunch of hideous signs "vote for xxx" planted on every corner (on public land). So, bear with me for a couple of scenarios.... First, if I decided to put my own sign "down with xxx!!", that would be my right, and all is well. But what if I decided to take a Sharpie and write "down with xxx!!!" on the politician's sign? Is that immoral? Now, if we take that one step farther, does this apply to advertising in general? I understand that a billboard is private property, but it's message extends into the public domain. Let me know what you guys think - if I get enough encouragement, I may go spray paint a silly retort on a giant invasive Geico billboard... more

Voting Question: what do you think about art majors and art school in general? is it lame?

There are actually very few people out there who can "draw" and devote there lives to art. Art is actually in the business of communication, and you seem to be in the mindset that "art is for art's sake" Lets start off with drawing. Drawing is the absolute foundation of art, and your sketchbook is much more than a bunch of pretty pictures; it's a collection of thoughts, ideas, drafts, observations, moments, etc. Film is art, too btw, so have fun in your world without any videos, tv, or movies whatsoever. When you shoot a movie, a director most likely graduated from art school or hires artists to plan the movie. Here's where the sketchbook comes in. Do you think movies are born from nothing, but a script? There are storyboards and plus you don't just learn art techniques in art school, you learn how to think and grow with your own ideas. They story and script come from a concept and that concept is what you have to defend for in the art world. Moving on to things I'm more familiar about. Animation is a hybrid between all art forms. There's drawing in hand-drawn animations and in Flash animations. Claymations, and stop-motions are pretty self-explanatory. Here you say "with the computer nowadays you know. no body really needs you to draw anything precisely". That's bull. There's no computer that draws things out for you! Did you see Avatar? That was a movie ten years in the making almost entirely by human hands at computers. Granted, there were actors, but there images were overlaid and CGed as a base. Animation is Is the crossroads between tradition art and digital media and all your cartoons, advertisements, informercials, hell even sports games have animations on them. You know hen you see the scoreboard appear out of nowhere and then when you see reviews and stats on your favorite players? That's animation. Graphic Design is something you'd probably wouldn't be able to live without unless you decided to camp ut in the middle of nowhere. Nearly all advertising on billboards, online, on tv,on everything you own, Coke cans; that is all Graphic Design. Hell, Gaia wouldn't exist without Graphic Design. Every logo, image, everything in your room, is a product of Graphic Design. (Except for your furniture, that was from Industrial Design which is still an artform you couldn't live without.) Think about every logo you know, it from Graphic Design, and again, they know how to draw more

Resolved Question: why is the world/society so obscene and sexualized?

back when i was growing up, president millard filllmore never would have allowed this. you have billboards featuring topless women, internet porn everywhere, official tourism encouraging adultery, mainstream media corrupting the youth and children, showgirls and prostitutes walking down the street, cabs with posters advertising strip clubs. you go to the supermarket and you see she-male lapdancers there.i feel bad for my great grandkids who know nothing about class and self respect.he was the president of the united states and among one of the greatest presidents. look him up!EDIT: Millard Fillmore served as the President of the United States from 1850-1853. more

Resolved Question: Registered Nurse or Graphic Designer?

a little about myself:      im 19, graduated class of '09 and decided to take a year off before starting colleg to figure out what i really want to do for a living ... and here i am, still without a clue of what i want ...   ok so ive always been pretty good at art, love to draw and i pay alot of attention to detail. you can always find me criticizing a commercial or a bad novela (spanish soap operas *eye roll*), movies or music videos, advertisements of all sorts... ive given alot of thought to the possibility of majoring in graphic/advertising design. i can see myself in that setting BUT the instability of this career is whats holding me back. i want to be able to live a comfortable live-style...id like to find a career that would pay somewhere around $45k+ a year and in Graphic Design nothing is really guaranteed, job opps, salary, etc.... SO ive looked into some other fields like the medical field, things like denist, denal assistant, ultra sound tech, and nursing<<<   now nursing i like more because your actually there in person helping people and that would give me alot of satisfaction at the end of the day...no matter how tired i am....the pay is not bad lol (its great from what ive heard)...alot of hard work i know but im not scared of working extra hard and giving it my all and i can see that its all worth it in the end right??(correct me if im wrong). there are plenty of benefits as well, a stable career, i can work anywhere, having that kind of knowledge, being able to help someone in an emergency or my own family ...etc. so yea from the looks of it i cant go wrong with nursing ...but GD really draws my attention, i dont want to become a RN and regret not going into GD ( i can see it now, i look up at a billboard and think " wow i couldve done that so much better") and i know thats likely to happen becaue ads a graphic design is all around us...   ok so from what i know i can become a RN in 2-3 years .....i can also become a Graphic Designer in about the same time but the pay is not set-in-stone so ive been thinking....   what if i get an AS in nursing at a community college, work for about a year or so, then go back to school to get a AS or BA in graphic design (and this time instead of community college i can try to go to a really good art school like Ringling or Full Sail *i live in FL by the way*...i mean with the RN salary i could afford it right??) i can do a little freelance designing on the side, and my uncle told me that in Costa Rica (where my family is from) i could possibly start a small business with advertising and make a good living off of that alone so yea it sounded really good to me...   so please tell me what you think about this master plan that ive got going on lol ...is it too ambitious? am i trying to many things at once? is it possible...is it even realistic at all?? lol what do you think i should do? should i stick to just one thing? (it would be very hard for me to choose though)   if this isn’t possible could you please recommend something else I could do? …   im mostly afraid of regret....id rather bust my ass trying to do both careers than to choose one and regret not doing the other ..so yea if all this is possible please let me know, give me some positive feedback so i can finally have some peace of mind   i deeply appreciate your help and your patience for reading all of this lol thank you very very much for your opinions more

Resolved Question: Why do some Christians seem to be offended at any advertisements involving atheism?

While driving 20 minutes from my home to St. Louis there are 4 billboards advertising Christianity. Advertisements for Christianity exist all over the place in the US. Why is it whenever an atheist billboard or advertisement goes up it causes so much controversy? There seems to ALWAYS be some sort of debate sparked. Why would anyone care? Christian billboards are never challenged as far as I'm aware of, why do atheist billboards offend so easily? more

Resolved Question: What do you think of Hollister, Aeropostale, Abercromibie, etc?

I personally hate brand names of any kind. Hollister, Aero, A&F, even sports brands like Nike and UA and crap. Whenever I get sports brand names I get them because, unlike fashion names, they actually ARE better quality, and I get the ones with the smallest brand markings possible. As for fashion brands, $30 for one little shirt that's too small to begin with and then just shrinks even more in the wash is insane pricing to me, I'd be fine in some $5 Wal-Mart tee compared to that. I prefer to have shirts that either have some pretty picture or sarcastic joke plastered on the front instead of having some brand name to define my status in society. I don't enjoy suffocating the student body with gallons of perfume all the time. And I really, really prefer not to be a walking billboard to advertise some annoying franchise that portrays shallow values to kids and somehow thinks that having a name written on the front will automatically make you cool. I'm not a sheep, never will be. For all of you who insist that "oh, they're clothes aren't expensive! It's really cheap pricing if you ask me!" or "sometimes the sales have really good prices, they have a cute style there...": I don't have a mommy and daddy who can give me 3,000 dollars to get new clothes for school. $25 is NOT a sale. Brand names don't make you automatically cool, they just make you look like a sheep. I prefer to be an individual, thank you very much. And for all of those who are going to say "you think that everyone who wears *insert brand name here* are stupid sheep, well that's just rude!", I can almost guarantee that your spelling and grammar will prove just how much intelligence is stored in those perfume poisoned brains of yours. As for quality, they don't last longer. I've actually had Wal-Mart clothes that have lasted far longer than my friend's Hollister and Aero clothes. Far longer. And when they actually were in retiring condition, they were still less damaged and shrunken than the brand crap. So, for anyone who shares my belief that Hellister, Eeriepostale, American Evil and Abercrazy & Itch suck for several reasons, you're awesome. For all those sheep who want to justify why overpriced, unoriginal clothes are so awesome and cute, we'll just let you live in your ignorance about why plastering a brand name on yourself does no good to you whatsoever, just helps bump corporate America up farther than they need to be. If you need a further explanation, there's a great blog here about WHY exactly most brand names are completely pointless. http://journal.amanita.net/2007/11/01/i-hate-hollister/ more

Resolved Question: Is it okay for me to advertise my opinions publicly like religious people do?

"Why do you believe in god?" "Was the Earth REALLY created 6000 years ago?" "There is no heaven, there is no hell, there is no god." The reason I ask is because when I drive around I see a lot of signs, whether it be at church, a bulletin board or a billboard. Some of them usually say something like "God is with you" and "Pray to god" etc. If they can advertise their opinions... can't I advertise mine? I don't think its right because if I want to raise non-religious kids, I'll have to keep telling them why those signs are put there, who did it, and why they're wrong for doing it. I feel like rather then just NOT teaching my kids religion, I'll have to teach them how to ignore it because I can't always be there to defend them against religious brain washers. I just feel like if I went around telling people to be atheist, I'd get a LOT of heat from religious people... yet I'm expected to be "okay" with them hanging up their stuff around town. more

Resolved Question: hows my about me section? teens?

i’m a billboard, advertising your aging confidence, self-destruction and sagging self-esteem. The appearance of my own body is cut and dissected every time I breathe. My horror of beauty is not when I’m laying naked on the bathroom floor, but when I’m staring at myself, wondering what’s underneath the painted-on feelings and made-up eyes. I’m not a ******* beauty queen. When I walk into the bathroom, I’m not getting pretty.. I’m destroying myself. Repairing myself from the damage I’ve done. Whether YOU like it or NOT. The ceiling of fear crashes down on me when I pick up the latest fashion magazine and find that no one else looks like me. But what is ME? Where has the word "real" gone to? Maybe reality is blonde hair, plastic body parts, tan skin and porcelain teeth? I think it’s sweaty skin, smeared lipstick and a big mouth, being afraid of nothing and truly LOVING yourself without BEING someone else. The vanity sanctuary will keep me safe and you can try to break me down but you’re only hurting yourself, just like you’re supposed to be doing. I’ll be dying in my makeup and you’ll be dying without it. Did you have a point? Because somewhere in your own special ugliness you lost meaning and I forgot what you said. So center the text and write some more, it’s all mine..and its all needneedneed. Memememememe. You’re famous last words were forgotten because no one was listening. Quite time now, surgery isn’t an option. They said I'd never be anything but who has the world watching them? Who has such amazing and dedicated fans? People need to hate me because they hate themselves. They want to believe the rumors about me because they don't have their own rumors. I'm here to stay, with my diamond rims and pink lipstick, so get used to it and worry about yourself before you try and be negative towards me. I'm a getaway car for real feelings. I'm your Miss Methamphetamine, the truth shoved up your nose. Smile, with your gasoline teeth and forced empathy. Let me be the one thing that makes your heart break because you can't help it. You need someone like me to make you feel wrong. Everything is monotone like my dead ******* eyes and I'll say "I'm the only Miss America. I'm what your mother was supposed to be. I'm perfect." "I want out of the labels. I don't want my whole life crammed into a single word. A story. I want to find something else, unknowable, some place to be that's not on the map. A real adventure. A sphinx. A mystery. A blank. Unknown. Undefined." "The only way to find true happiness is to risk being completely cut open. Sure, everybody wants to play God, but for me it's a full-time job. What you don't understand, you can make mean anything." asked b4 and got 1 answer more

Resolved Question: Teens: something white is..wowzerz?

’m a billboard, advertising your aging confidence, self-destruction and sagging self-esteem. The appearance of my own body is cut and dissected every time I breathe. My horror of beauty is not when I’m laying naked on the bathroom floor, but when I’m staring at myself, wondering what’s underneath the painted-on feelings and made-up eyes. I’m not a fucking beauty queen. Resolved Question: Why do atheists want other people to be atheists?

Why do atheists want other people to be atheists? Religious people are almost always happy with their belief system. There is massive amounts of evidence that spirituality can help people with morality, pain, depression and encourage charity and wellbeing in entire communities. Why are atheists often so eager to convert other people and take this away from them? I would just like to take a few quotes from a previous question to back up my claim that atheists can be assertive with their beliefs: "Atheists assertive?? Get real. We're not the ones with billboard and TV ads all over the place." - There are all sorts of groups that "preach" atheism, even on this website. Richard Dawkins advertised it on buses for example - http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01217/Atheist-Bus_1217553c.jpg "We are a minority, and have to shout to be heard. However, if the majority just speaks the same words at the same time, it's a roar." "I'm one of those people that's on the fence. That being said It's not just atheists people that believe in a god or religion also are always cramming there OPINION down peoples throats."and why do you always assume I have a religion? I'm an apatheist!and why do you always assume I have a religion? I'm an apatheist! more
