Open Question: Mentor Wanted! For Business advice:)?
Hi, My name is Diamond. I am just your average teenager ready to stop sitting around. I'm am the happiest point in my life so far and I'm just missing that one thing. I'm a big dreamer. I want to become an actress, model, singer, dancer, open tons of businesses; the works! I'm being comfortable for now. Taking online classes. Soaking in life. I'll start pursuing the bigger things in 3 years tops. I'm ready to start small, but It be hit [make a good bit amount of moo-lah] I'm good with photography, advertising (making business cards and framed doo-dads like such), pretty much anything put in front of me. Whatever it is doesn't even have to be those things. I've thought about selling Mary Kay, but I do live in a small town. I wouldn't mind doing something online. I just need some ideas and opinions from my superiors. All you successful adults out there willing to lead me; I am listening:) This is something I am itching to do. I’m at that point in my life to where I’m very conscious to the fact that the decision I make could ultimately mold my future. & I want to do it right. I’m sick of just sitting around. I’m bored lol. I’d have to say photography is definitely my passion; the one thing I would do for free for the rest of my life. The thing that worries me though is I don’t have any professional experience although they honestly look like the real deal. I’ve taught myself around Photoshop, but there’s definitely room for improvement. I do little projects here and there. [Business cards, fliers, etc.] I seem to really like that kind of stuff too, because I have a really creative eye and LOVE decorating. I know for sure I need to meet more people and have more connections. The town is small, but I’m sure I can start a little something. I have no clue where or how to start. I’d like to go ahead and establish something before I have to get the degree, if you know what I mean. I hear all these stories kids even younger than me starting up businesses out of their home with homemade jewelry or just washing cars. I try to have these conversations with my Dad, but I don’t think he gets how bad I want it and how serious I am. It doesn’t help that he’s a procrastinator so plans almost never come through. I am willing to do this myself and have everybody be like…”Wow, she was serious and did it.” I have a lot of Ideas and would love advice. And I thought It would be a great idea to find a mentor; to talk to and have my questions answered in a professional yet easy way to follow. Thank you:) Diamond moreOpen Question: v5 book sent to dvla with my details?
went to pick the car from the dealer after paying £100 deposit and was told the seller was off sick. another sales person could not find the service history book. 2) the dents that were supposed to be removed were still there. 3) car had done 10000 more miles than advertised (forgot to check this on test driving the car). 4)only 4 months left on MOT instead of the 12 months promised then the new sales person states going to MOT the car like he is doing me a favor. decided I wanted my money back and only to be told log book has been sent to DV LA with my details as they had taxed the car already (had used their free 7 day insurance hence they had all the details), now they want the log book before they can give me back the money. so upset. need to know is it possible for them to have sent this without me signing the log book. saw the road tax, so I know they did tax the car with my details. will i now appear as one of the owners for the car on the log book? moreOpen Question: Advertise for Companies with Car?
When gas prices were ridiculously high, some people went out and allowed a company to make an advertisement out of their car by and in return the company would pay for the person's gas. It was a trade off. The company was advertised and people were exposed to and made aware of the company and the person wouldn't have to pay for gas. Are there still companies doing this in the Haverhill MA area? If so, how do I contact them and let them know I'm interested in something like that? moreVoting Question: When the amount of government spending exceeds the amount of revenues, the result is called:?

I want to buy a car, i just need a cheap runaround to get me from home to work to college to the store etc. I don't get how cars can be "worth" so much though, like 10, 12, 15 year old cars with 150,000+ miles are still worth thousands, eh?? So whenever i look online at used cars they show me ones for 8, 9, 10+ thousand $'s, but if i ask to search under that they show me pieces of crap. I don't understand the whole buying process and am trying to know as much as i can because i know dealers and that take advantage of people who they think don't know a lot about cars and such like. I just want a car for under $3000 that runs, hasn't been in a wreck or anything (i don't mind cosmetic scratches and dents etc but i don't want a front wing smashed in or anything) I don't want to have to spend a fortune on it, like replacing the gear box or if the floor is rusty etc. It just needs to run and last for 2 or 3 years basically. I just need help with where to look, I've tried eBay, auto-trader, dealer websites etc, but without much luck. I'm not looking to buy a car online without seeing it first but i just wanted a couple of definite places to look to save aimlessly looking round dealer lots. Also the websites say things like ...."Sales Tax, Title, License Fee, Registration Fee, Dealer Documentary Fee, Finance Charges, Emission Testing Fees and Compliance Fees are additional to the advertised price." what are all these extra things and how much are they? if the car is advertised at $2,995 will i end up paying like $5000 when all this extra stuff is added? Someone please advise me.Thanks 'theneelster' for your answer, I didn't think of craigslist, I dont need a super fancy one, i just wanted a little sedan type corolla or something like it, i didnt want a great honking truck or SUV (probably the only person in texas who doesnt). I would be fine doing general maintenance like oil change and tyres etc but i just wanted to know how to check for other things like if the floors rotten and if the gear box will last or the engines about to go bang, coz unless i was definitely planning on buying it i cant afford to have a mechanic look at every car i see so i wanted to be able to know enough myself to decide whether its a viable option. moreVoting Question: Do conservatives need whiny Liberals and they don`t know it?
Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of water, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised. All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance - now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe's bacon is safe to eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry. In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total contents because some crybaby liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for the laws to stop industries from polluting our air.He walks on the government-provided sidewalk to subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because some fancy-pants liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a conributor. Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some stupid liberal didn't think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune. It is noon time and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some godless liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression. Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because some elitist liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime. Joe also forgets that his in addition to his federally subsidized student loans, he attended a state funded university. Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal fought for car safety standards to go along with the tax-payer funded roads. He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers' Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electricity until some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification. He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, cheese-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to. Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn't mention that the beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day. Joe agrees: "We don't need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I'm a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like. I have." moreResolved Question: Disability discrimination?
My husband was in a car accident in 2007 and suffered a terrible brain injury and still is having residual effects because he still hasn't fully recovered from his brain injury. After his accident, he filed for disability and was denied (I guess almost everybody gets denied the first try and the process was too much for him to go through again at that time). Consequently, he got a job working for a very large local car dealership detailing cars a year ago and is still there. He let them know ahead of time that he has a brain injury and what he struggles with. Now, his boss will yell at him and call him out in front of everybody that he is too slow and is constantly being criticized about his "work ethic" because he is slower than they would like. They advertise themselves to be an equal opportunity employer and that their employees are their "greatest asset" but something about how they treat him and what they are doing to be wrong. We plan on trying to file him for disability again, but is there something we can do in the meantime to stop the harassment and criticism from this company while he's still there? It's extremely heartbreaking to see him come home every day so frustrated with himself and his brain injury, I feel completely helpless. Thank you ahead of time for anybody that has any suggestions..*About 2 months ago he had more testing done through a neuropsychologist to monitor what he still has struggles with. To summarize it, the doctor said he is slower and his brain doesn't work fast and he has memory problems. moreResolved Question: ♥poll What do you think about advertising♥?
I know this is long but please just take the time to read it, If you have time to answer tons of other pointless questions you have time to answer mine. Ya know what irks me? The way the media takes advantage of it's audience! Like ya know when you go to see a movie and your sitting in the theater and for like 20mins before the movie you have to sit through commercials, Like car commercials, soda commercials and condescending advertisements belittling you because you didn't buy your tickets online! Screw these people with a lawn gnome! I'm so sick of being stuck somewhere watching some stupid commercial for some crap I DON'T WANT! No wait! It doesn't end at the theater! Its in your computer! No matter what you watch you have to sit through some idiotic commercial beforehand! Wanna watch a short? Sorry, You need to sit through a super powerful adhesive ad! wanna watch a new clip, HOLD ON THERE! Theres a new dog crap remover you need to know about! It continues to go on on and on and on and before you know it you won't be able to walk outside your front door without an ad painted on your sidewalk!!! I don't go outside unless I have to so I'm fine with that...I'm just saying! Advertising has become unnecessary evil, to a certain extent! It helps pay for certain things and helps people maintain certain aspects of there business. However,When I go to a movie theater and i'm already paying $20.00 for a movie ticket why the hell do i have to sit through commercials!?!?!?!?!? What are they paying for?? The popcorn? Oh no sorry thats like $8.00,wait! Maybe the ads cover my soda,Wait! nooo...$4.50! maybe, just maybe ill get i special trinket from the movie I just saw oh noo! THATS GUNNA BE $35.00!!!!! So what it looks like to me is pre-rolled advertising in movie theaters doesn't pay for anything!!! I get no discount, No free candy,No cookies not even a dang taco crumb! I get nothing! All I get is bombarded with crap insulted by morons and taken advantage of by paper pushing idiots! So anyways, What do you think about advertising? Is it to much or not enough? Your input is wanted! moreResolved Question: What will the approx HP & Torque be on my new engine / hotrod setup (78 El Camino)?
The engine is about to be put into the car, and my mechanic wants to go to the track & test it on the quarter mile. He states that this setup is producing 400 - 450 lbs Torque and 450 - 500 HP. He also feels that the car will run the quarter mile in 9 - 10 seconds. I think the car might be at the low end of his HP & Torque estimates, but I think if I ran a 12 sec 1/4 mile in this car I would be lucky. The engine is together, just needs to be put in the car and the rear end put on. Here are all the specs that would be useful I think for this calculation. I have learned a bit about engines, but mostly that going with all new parts is too expensive and I will never get my money back out of this. My mechanic also stated that if there was a weak link in my setup it is the 600 cfm carb. I may performance tune it, or get a 750 cfm if you think this will make a major difference. 1978 El Camino, 3,800 lbs (max) ALL engine components are NEW •389 Stroker Engine •SBC Block Machine Bored .060 over, Line Honed, basically a NEW block. The bearings got messed up because he put the wrong flywheel on there & so it hadn’t really even been driven before I had to have the engine taken out and I thought I would use this opportunity to put in a Lunati Voodoo Roller cam that my mechanic had. I asked for him to write down the specs for it, but he did not write down the specs as I had asked. (I know…wtf!?!) He thinks the lift is 490 and the compression ratio is 10:1. I went to the Lunati website and looked at all the Roller Voodoo cams for one matching that description and the closest I could find was this one: http://www.lunatipower.com/Product.aspx?id=1993&gid=290 Part Number 60132Cam Specs: Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 273/279 Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 243/249 Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .578/.585 LSA/ICL: 110/106 Valve Lash (Int/Exh): 016/016 RPM Range: 2600-7000 Either way, I feel like I need to know what kind of cam is in the car or I’d be a fool, so I’m going to have to have him take the part number down and see if it fits with the setup or not. If not, I’m going to get a new one put in. He is a friend of mine, so he’s not trying to screw me over, but I feel like I am risking getting screwed if I don’t get this setup right. Once it is in, I’m getting my car to a shop for fine tuning & a checkup, but I don’t want to have to pay someone else to take the motor out again and change the cam. (since it is already out). If I had a range that the cam should be in, I can check it and if it is not in that range, I can get another & not have to pay for the cam that is currently in the car, except for the change.Once this cam is in, I cannot wait to get my car home. I am hoping the right cam can fix the compression issues somehow. Info about the Intake - The intake is classified as a dual riser intake on ebay, but that may be different from a dual plane. I found the description if it being a single plane in a hotrodder forum when doing the search for the intake on google. Here is a link to the ebay listing page for the intake http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m570.l1313&_nkw=HI+TECH+TORQUE+LINK+INTAKE+MANIFOLD&_sacat=See-All-Categories It is really tall, that’s for sure. Anyway thanks very much for the needed details & I hope this helps & that there is a cam spec that can balance this engine out. moreResolved Question: Do you trust professionals with a vested interest?

Hi. I'm trying to raise money for the youth group's mission trip at our church. Some of my friend's had a yard sale but I couldn't help with that because my Gramma was getting put into a nursing home down in Florida and I had to go help her move and then go to Disney World so I couldn't like help with the garage sale or anything. So, now I feel really bad about all that and was going to try and have a car wash but I only own one bikini and it's white and my dad doesn't think it's a good idea to wear a white bikini for a car wash with strangers because he said it'd give my customers tight pants like my dad says he gets, whatever that means. So, I thought maybe I could sell some of my famous cream pie. A lot of people love my cream pie when I serve it at the town fair in September. It's my gramma's recipe and I was thinking maybe I could advertise on craigslist.com or in the local Penny Saver paper that I'm selling servings of my cream pie. I just don't know how much I should charge for a huge helping of my cream pie? It's made with real coconut milk, coconuts and real bananas. How do I do this?
The economy in the USA is so bad that I can't really find a job. I have basically no friends; the few that I still have barely call me. Even with my bachelor's degree I'm finding it hard to find employment. Today I hired an escort service. I arrived late there and she told me that we needed to hurry. I was a virgin when I arrived but not when I stepped out the door. It was my first time and she rushed me, so I feel unsatisfied because I paid $160. It only lasted about 30 minutes then she said "If you're not gonna ***, I'll just give you a handjob." I couldn't *** because the condom she put on me prevented me from feeling much at all. The session made me feel like I was doing a robot. I feel like she just saw me as "another bloke to get over with" instead of a real "girlfriend experience' as was advertised. I would much prefer to have did my first time with my girlfriend but I don't have one. It's really hard to make a girl like you if you don't have a job and a car. I don't have model looks/personality either, so that makes it even harder. I am Chinese at 23 and she was a Thai girl, 24. I want to move away somewhere else where I can just be myself and have fun. Why is life so hard? All I ever wanted is for somebody to care. A few close friends and a little extra money. I'm not even asking for that much! moreResolved Question: Holding a balance on my card vs. paying it all off (and general credit/loan questions)?
Hello, So here is a small issue that I've been thinking about. For a good half year or so, my FICO score has been staying at a steady 745. I want to raise it so I keep up with my credit card payments, yet it has stayed the same. Then it dawned on me, everytime I get a charge to my card, I pay it off right away, that way most of the time, on each of my cards, my credit statement at the end of the month reads a value of $0.00 owed. However, now I have people saying that it is better for me to allow those charges to show on my statement balance and then pay them off afterwards and that that will build my credit. Is this true? Does having a balance show on my monthly statement matter? Will it directly improve my credit to finally creep above this 745 dead zone I've been sitting on? The reason I want to raise it is I am beginning to look to taking out a loan for a car (partially so I can get a new car and partially so I can build better and larger credit lines for a house in the future). Would this be a good idea to reach my future plan of a house or should I stick to just the credit cards and not taking out a loan on a new car since it will mean I will incur more debt? Also, what kind of loan rate do you think I'd be looking at for a car loan? I am in California, and am looking to get a loan for a used car at $10k. The credit union I am at advertises an interest rate of 6.45%. With a credit history of 3 years and the aforementioned score, what kind of realistic interest rate would I be looking at? Above 10%?What I meant with the taking the car loan to increase my ability for the future, I meant is my thinking right in that if I show that I had a loan of this size and paid it off, would it make it easier to get a housing loan in the future or is it irrelevant and I should just stick to building my credit through my credit cards alone? moreResolved Question: on my own in Italy, how can i found someone to share trip with me?

My sister and her family (of 5 children) are having really tough money problems. Her husband, who has been out of the job struggling to find new work for over 2 years, has just finally started working again. They are still trying to pay off old bills, AND help their oldest pay for her rent and car insurance because she also just recently lost her job. I am also struggling almost as much as they are money wise, and can not help. However, their second oldest, who is 17 years old, asked me if I knew anywhere she could easily get a job. I do not know what to say! Where should I send her? My niece is almost 17 years old and absolutely gorgeous, with a body I am very jealous of! Still not 18 yet, so no one offer up hooters or anything. lol. She is very bright and graduated at 15 years old, she is a little bit of an over-achiever and is going to University of Michigan. She is now almost a junior in college and I am very proud of her. She got some job at a pizza place on campus and with all the money she made brought it into the family to go towards groceries, etc for everyone. However the job just ended and she needs something else that would pay decently well. She is also already a vocal/piano instructor out of her home, and is advertising, but does not yet have enough students to make it full time so for the time being needs something else. Even a simple restaurant gig. She lives in Michigan. She says she is willing to work night shifts (as she has done before unloading trucks.) What do I say to her? Since I can not give money or anything, I still want to help out my family. Sorry there is so much info and thank you in advance! She can be good at anything... But where is hiring? Who would hire her at 16?Yes, but she is not 17 yet, she will be in the fall and she needed something much sooner. I would sound lame if I said wait until you are older to get another job, wouldn't I?Hooters does not hire until at least 17 years old-- and that is only for kitchen worker or hostess (less work, less tips.) moreResolved Question: Selling a car - where is the best place?
Hubby wants to sell his MK2 Vauxhall Astra and upsize for our growing family! He was offered a disappointingly small amount from the Trade Sales yard as a trade-in and so wants to try selling it privately to get a better deal. It may be a few years old but its in fantastic condition, cheap to run, reliable and has full MOT/Tax so we feel we could get a decent price for it. I've looked at Autotrader but the advert fees seem a bit steep. Is it worth advertising on Ebay or other sites? We were thinking of putting it in as a Buy-it-now item (with the option to take offers too) . . . Where you you recommend we try?Sorry its a mark 3 lol moreResolved Question: What is the name of that old cartoon?
I am trying to remember the name of an old cartoon that would come on a lot when I was little. It was not like a full series with characters. It was like an infomercial for strange cars. Like one with a glass bottom so you can see what you hit as you drive over it, and one that allows you to put your mother in law in a separate part of the car. It was a lot like another cartoon infomercial that advertised weird stuff like a frying pan with a built in hammer that straightens your bacon while you are cooking it. I'm aware of positive experiences resulting from making changes to how one feels at a subconscious level. It looked like subliminal videos could be great for people - just sit back and watch and enjoy the benefits. I thought I'd investigate what's offered. I'm pretty disgusted at the results, which include: * Very dodgy claims, e.g. they can make anyone wealthy * The most obvious cheap sales tricks, like buy now to save x% - today only! * Misleading offers, like claim your absolutely free video (only if you buy a bunch of other stuff) * Try the free sample - none of which work (unrecognised file formats) * Watch this online short video (that doesn't work) * Harvesting email addresses to hit you with loads of their adverts * Excessive sales talk like dodgy car salesmen trying too hard * Countless efforts to grab your money My experience is that honest suppliers of honest products don't use all these tricks - they simply advertise, provide the means to order and pay, and supply. I looked for a long while and found nothing that seemed trustworthy. Anyone out there had experience with these videos? Are there any genuine, trustworthy providers of these videos or what?God is a man-made delusion to comfort and control in equal measure, and has nothing to do with the question! moreResolved Question: Budget 2010: Welfare and benefits - if its so bad why don t the government give out Rationing books?

On 1st December 1941 the Ministry of Food introduced the points rationing scheme for items such as canned meat, fish and vegetables at first. Later items such as rice, canned fruit, condensed milk, breakfast cereals, biscuits and cornflakes were added. Everyone was given 16 points a month, later raised to twenty, to spend as wished at any shop that had the items wanted. A 12-oz. (340 gm) packet of soap powder was half a month’s ration; you could get one egg every two months and powdered egg could be bought on points. Fruit like bananas vanished altogether. Clothes rationing on points began in June 1941 and a new kind of clothing— utility clothing—was introduced, using cheap materials and the minimum amount of cloth. There were even points for furniture, although you were given these only if you were newly married, or had been bombed out, or were having a baby. Petrol was rationed so people stopped buying cars. Spoke to T mobile complaints department and they promised to swap out my phone (samsung i5700) as it had a tonne of problems. The main thing is that it advertised itself having bluetooth but it doesn't work due to the outdated firmware so it wasn't fit for it's intended purpose. Nor does it seem they will ever fix the new firmware. So i complained saying that they had mis-advertised and mis-sold the phone which is against the law. They then promised me a replacement which was the HTC desire after they said they would offer me a replacement. Now they offered me the phone and I accepted. The deal was that they would send me a return envelope to put my old phone in and send it back to them and they would send me the HTC Desire on receipt. The complaints rep said she would call me. So I sent the phone back. Unfortunately the lady i was speaking to wasn't in as she was sick. After waiting patiently on the day she was supposed to call I had to call her back but her colleagues are now saying that I do not deserve the phone as it is more expensive! Because i was expecting the phone I also bought a car dock which only fits the phone as i was planning to use it for the weekend. It has cost me many many lost hours and expensive calls too. I believe T Mobile have broken the law at least a few times in this case. 1. They have mis-sold the phone. 2. They offered a replacement which has now massively inconvenienced me as i've been using an older phone which cannot use any of the services that I got with the contract. 3. After being promised the replacement they are now back peddling and saying that they can't (which I know is breaking contract law (they offered by verbal and sending the prepaid return envelope and I accepted by sending my old phone back)) Please can anyone confirm I'm right? From studying law and looking at consumer law I'm 99% sure they are in the wrong and should send me the agreed phone and re-imburse me for all expenses (sending the phone back, loss of use of contract and the calls to their offices). ThanksThanks for all that. But the difference is the bluetooth doesn’t work. It is advertised with bluetooth but I can’t use it for anything as the firmware with it breaks it. Also the phone, because of the firmware it cannot use all the software that is available because it is too old. On top of that, the stability of the phone has been compromised, on several occasions I have had calls and tried to pick up the phone but because the phone is slow to respond after clicking answer, the other person has hung up. These are among many other problems and the phone just isn’t fit for its intended purpose. I have been into a store and they said that T mobile would update the software very soon (end of april I believe). Also according to consumer law they should not inconvenience me when offering a replacement. I agreed to using an old phone temporarily but this has gone on longer than expected. I have made several calls and it seems that each of them has actually conceded that if they can find moreResolved Question: I had this idea where u can sell stuff on Ebay for people who don't have the time, etc. would this work?
Australiann answers only. What I mean is if say (this may seem strange) you advertise in the local paper for people who don't have time to advertise their items (eg. houses, cars, boats, caravans, etc.) or they don't know how to use the Internet/Ebay. They ring you up & you ask them what they want in their Ebay listing etc. then u negotiate with them a percentage of that sale. Would this idea work? http://thehill.com/opinion/columnists/dick-morris/103373-obama-vs-press-freedom A May 24 working paper on “reinventing” the media proposes that the government impose fees on websites such as the Drudge Report that link to news websites or that it tax consumer electronics such as iPads, laptops and Kindles. Funds raised by these levies would be redistributed to traditional media outlets. By now, the Obama MO should be clear to all. As he has done with the banks, AIG and the car companies, he extends his left hand offering subsidies and then proffers his right laden with regulations. Should the government follow through on Leibowitz’s ideas and enact special subsidies and tax breaks for news organizations, it will induce a degree of journalistic dependence on the whims of government not seen since the days when the early presidents bestowed government advertising on favored periodicals. moreResolved Question: Should I try to come up with the money and pay her back, or take it to court?
Yesterday, I sold my old jeep to a young lady and her father. They had driven the car 3 times before deciding to buy it, and her husband and father inspected the vehicle and said it was good. They checked everything-the tires, motor, transmission, and after driving it, her father said it was a good car. Today, the girl called me, very angry and said that she wanted her money back, because the car wouldn't start, and the windows wouldn't roll up. Now, I was surprised because as I had told her before, the car had worked for me absolutely every time I used it. And the windows were working. She said it was false advertising, and her husband threatened to sue me. Now, from the people I've talked to, I know that once the deal is done, it's over. I signed the title over, they gave me the money, and that was that. The car was working just fine while I had it. So what should I do now? I will be speaking to an attorney tomorrow but I want to have an idea or at least a few opinions on what to do. I don't even have the money anymore, I used it for college. I feel kinda helpless. Any ideas? It's a 1994. What could they possibly sue me for? moreResolved Question: I cannot function in society, follow a schedule, or deal with authority?
I don't know how to follow a schedule. I don't know how to handle responsibility. I don't know how to manage time or make commitments (other than in relationships). But I wouldn't call myself lazy or unintelligent. For example, I missed over 100 days of high school and almost did not graduate, but when I skipped I would often times read. I love classic literature and I love to analyze things. Then, when I got a car, I'd go exploring and try to learn about different cultures within our city. It's the same way with work. I am always late. Sometimes I do not go. Honestly, it's not the work I mind. I feel like I am one of the hardest workers when I'm there. But I hate having to follow a schedule, and I hate having a boss (I don't just dislike it like a lot of people. I mean, I really cannot deal with it.). If I could come and go as I pleased and have the freedom to make changes when I was there, not only would my work excel, I know the business would excel because I have so many ideas I want to carry out. That is what wears me out most: my imagination. I don't normally enjoy bragging, but for the sake of this post, I would have to say I've met few people would were as creative as me. I feel like there is never enough paper to write my dreams on, never enough Google searches I can do, etc. Many people have told me that I'd make a great entrepreneur. I'm obviously highly independent, so the risk/freedom wouldn't scare me. Also, I may seem to have a lack of motivation in some areas of life, but when I do decide to do something, I DO IT. I am the most stubborn person, but it helps me accomplish my goals. My biggest passions are new experiences, innovation, and people. I would truly care about my customers and what they wanted/needed. Thing is, I know I need formal education, more finances, and more experience before I can make my dream come true. And I don't know how to do those things because to do them, you have to be able to function in society and I cannot. I actually love people. I'm very sensitive/inuitive and feel like I understand people very well in most situations. But I CANNOT work with them. Also, when I have managed to follow a schedule for A WHILE, I feel extremely confined, like I am literally locked in a cage, and become severely depressed. I don't know what to do! I myself have smoked before, however I have not touched weed in about 6 months give or take. When I smoked I would go from a week long binge to having a dry spell for a couple of weeks. I smoked for a total of about 2 years and I never had any issues with my responsibilities, like school for example. I actually kept a 3.6 GPA and I never tried any other drugs except drinking. So, personally I find no issues with marijuana unlike what many people will tell you (It makes you stupid. It leads to harder drugs. It takes over your life. It's addictive.). Now I will rant. Ok, so I know it's addictive. I'm not going to deny that. However, it's certainly less addictive than something like cocaine or even caffeine. And yes, caffeine will cause withdrawal symptoms not unlike nicotine withdrawal. While marijuana can cause psychological dependence, marijuana does NOT have any physical withdrawal symptoms. I had absolutely no issue when I quit, and I only wanted to smoke for about the first week. After the first week I have no longer felt any desire to smoke up, except for the fact that I occasionally just want to wind down and enjoy myself on a joint. Now, the government has a completely legalized industry for alcohol, which by the way messes you up MUCH more than marijuana. And I know that you people who have never tried marijuana often find this very difficult to believe, but just ask your self this. Have you ever seen somebody get so high that they were too dizzy to stand up and walk straight? Have you ever seen somebody smoke up and then puke their guts out all night from weed poisoning? No and no. marijuana will simply chill somebody out or get their heart racing. It depends on the strain, but in either case, nobody is overdosing or seeing double. That's saved for the completely legal alcoholic drinks that are advertised all over the television. Also, marijuana has never killed anyone. And I mean anyone. Of course, you can say that people will get into their cars and crash, but have you ever thought of how people get into their cars and crash all of the time, while they're completely sober? Besides, there are studies that have shown marijuana usually makes somebody a more cautious driver and getting high is equal to about a .05 BAC (.08 is the legal limit for alcohol). Now, I'm sure that some mom is going to come on here and talk about how because of weed their kid does heroin or whatever. I don't know how this myth got started, but I believe the number is something like only 1 out of every 30-40 people who have tried marijuana will go on to use any other illegal substance. And from my own experience, the only people who actually went on to use heroin or coke actually talked about that BEFORE they ever tried marijuana. No joke. Most people understand the consequences of hard drugs and see what it can do to a person's life, and so they stay away. It's that simple. I think that my favorite myth is that marijuana makes you stupid. Right. How about you go tell that to my formerly A.P. student friends (now off to college) which would get SAT scores up in the 2000s. Yea if that isn't proof enough right there, here's something else for you. Marijuana has not been proven to kill any brain cells. In fact, studies have shown that it actually STIMULATES brain cell growth. I **** you not. It only takes a quick Google search. Now when people say that marjuana will take over your life, I believe that they must be referring to the far and in between cases where people actually did let marijuana take over their life. What those same people don't realize though is that they probably know loads of people that smoke weed, or have smoked weed, but that never let it take over their life. The thing is though is that you will never hear about it because that's just not something you would talk about with a co-worker or a neighbor. Most functioning people can handle smoking a little bit of marijuana once in a while, the SAME WAY people can have a beer or a glass of wine every once in a while. Now, my final point, which is probably my most important is, what has a marijuana user ever done to you? Nothing, that's what. And it's because somebody who smokes weed is not going to need it like somebody who snorts coke. It's just not in any way addictive like that. Nobody is going to mug somebody else because they're killing for a nickle ($5 dollars worth of weed). However, you probably could get mugged by somebody because they need their fix of crack. In my eyes, people who reject marijuana users are just plain tools that they think they have a duty to protect a society that knows more than them. If you people want my advice, go educate yourself and stop letting yourself be influenced by all of that propaganda you thought was the truth. You really said health concerns? Really? Obviously completely ignored my post. And yea I'm sure it way to painful for you to try and read something about a plant that is in the process of getting LEGALIZED. Prick.Oh and I don't care if you don't feel like reading my super-post just so long as you don't say something as stupid as "health concerns?"to Kris, I don't know what that guy was smoking, but it wasn't weed, I can tell you that. Not even mushies would made you suddenly come down to find yourself surrounded by guns. Sounds more like he was smoking some wet, which is weed dipped in PCP. moreResolved Question: middleclassman << Best Pro-Liberal Story ever.?

His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised. All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance - now Joe gets it too. His car is among the safest in the world because a liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers’ Home Administration because bankers didn’t want to make rural loans. The house didn’t have electricity until some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and demanded rural electrification. He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because a liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn’t have to. Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn’t mention that the beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day. Joe agrees: “We don’t need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I’m a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have.Just note:I'm sharing this story because of all the anti-liberal sentiment on this website during the past months.Look at that kid who's entire question consisted of asking why liberals are "stupid." moreResolved Question: I just bought a privately owned used car in BC... Did I get swindled?
Under a week ago I paid $1700 cash for a 199 vw golf that was advertised as being 149 xxx km with no accidents. We purchased the car, and THEN carfaxed it (I know, stupid me) and turns out it was totaled in 2004, and is now classified as 'rebuilt'. So hat was my fault, I figured I should just suck it up. But now, I was sorting through the papers again and I found another document wedged in the aircare pamphlet. It's the previous owners transfer form! It says it has 200 000 km on it... And it was signed by both parties. So... I have this government transfer form now that says this golf has 149xxx km (lie) no damage over $2k (lie). I haven't transferred the car to my name yet, and it's been under a week since I paid for it. Anyone have any idea what kind of legal rights I have here? moreResolved Question: Name of Insurance Commercial where dad in invisible car crashes?
I am looking for the insurance commercial where the dad crashes in an invisible car. It takes place in his livingroom, and you see all of the motions like he is in a car. I wanted to share this with my advertising class. I saw it once and was deeply touched, and in hopes that I would see it again I would then get all the information to share it. Needless to say I haven't seen it again. Has anyone else seen it or know what I am talking about? moreResolved Question: What UK television advert do you hate the most?
Two issues. For most of us I guess its got to be that horrible annoying "Go Compare" advert I mean its been going on since last August as if Go Compare haven't got the message that no one likes it. I also hate the "We buy any car advert" its just so annoying! I turn off the sound when either them comes on. I wish those two were banned ASAP! Secondly on my day off I watched daytime TV and lost count of the number of adverts advertising funerals and what to do when you die etc as well as umpteen insurance adverts. I mean do TV adverts have to be so down right miserable? Why can't we have cheerful adverts like the Coca Cola advert or fun adverts, does annoyone remember the 'carling label' advert in the 1980s with the cowboys in the supermarket? Why have adverts got to be either so miserable or annoying. Any ideas? Personally I can't stand the TV adverts of today.I agree with @Vix Sheilas wheels is horrible, but some how the "lets face music and dance, life insurance" did not seem as miserable as the afternoon death adverts people have forced on them. Maybe back in the 1990s we did not have so many miserable ads! moreResolved Question: How are so many low class people becoming so rich?
FYI: I live in India. Please Note: I am neither Racist nor Casteist. But I am person with several genuine problems and absolute bewilderment. I am website designer, and I have extremely good communication skills. I rate myself as a very good at civic sense and social manner awareness. I am trying to run my small family (4, including myself) with the earnings out of my shoestring business. I am always polite to my clients, I make sure they are comfortable with every technical aspect of their website, I make sure the site is Standards Compliant for the client's sake, despite them not even knowing what W3C Standards are. I try to keep my prices as comfortable as possible, and relatively low. Yes, I am somewhat more expensive than the general market, but the cost of having an unruly, brutal joke of a messy website "design" is more than the price of owning a good website. Also, I never spit on the road, refuse to relieve myself on the pavements like so many other people do despite desperate urgency, always say "excuse me" before I do anything remotely assertive. I respect women, pay my taxes on time. Despite all this, I barely manage to scrape by, financially speaking. I am usually at the mercy of my landlord, and begging all the people I owe money to, to wait "just a few more days". Then, I get a small respite in the form of a new client or two, and I am forced to spend all the money on my commitments. This basically leaves no chance for me to improve upon my life, or the conditions therein. I am always stuck in this vicious cycle of debt and repayment. Add to my woes is the fact that we as a family have no source of support from our relatives, and hence zero investment capability; I can't even afford to advertise my services in the local newspaper classifieds. I am forced to rely on the poorly maintained and extremely unreliable public transport system, since I don't have a vehicle. Yet, I do try to work hard, against all odds. CONTRAST THIS WITH THE FOLLOWING: All I have to do is to take a short walk onto the main road, and I see multiple swanky cars on the road. In a majority of these expensive vehicles, there are people who are unruly, wear arrogant looks on their faces, and drive like shit. A lot of them don't look educated (you can tell the difference, though it sounds preposterous). They don't hesitate to pull down the window and spit copious paan onto the roads. They don't hesitate to open up their fly and start spewing on to the footpath, even in the presence of women on the road. They wear large chunky jewellery on their sweaty unhygienic bodies (trying to demonstrate their wealth), but display the social sense of a bacterium. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON! How is this happening? Will I ever succeed in life? Will I ever overtake these creatures? And pray tell me HOW _SO MANY_ of them are ending up so RICH! This is not a rare phenomenon anymore... so my curiosity... moreResolved Question: Painless solution to the economic crisis?
David Cameron says there are tough times ahead, well here's how we cut the pain! We all know the economy and Country is hemorrhaging to death as a result of benefits fraud, a by product of New Labours incompetence. Here is the solution to eliminate fraud AND fund better social services AND get the Country back on it's feet in one simple, inexpensive programme. Most people know a benefits cheat working whilst claiming, fit to work but idle, driving round in a car at the tax payers expense or professionals who know the system and its loopholes, and use them to deprive the elderly, sick and genuine needy of the support they deserve. Lets have a Government sponsored "Fix the frauds" campaign, Nationally advertised, with email addresses and telephones to confidential expose the crooks. We do not need public sector employees, cut the wage bill, we can do it for the benefit of the sick, needy, homeless, lonely and those in distress. Give a bounty of £100 for each successful prosecution. Everyone is a winner, the Country gets back on its feet, and social services get the funding to deliver to the taxpayer great value for money. What do you think? The Electorate-the evidence on which to prosecute comes from the Government investigators acting on information. You keep your kneecaps, they get nicked! Job sorted. moreResolved Question: How much should I sell my car for?
Its a red 1998 Acura Integra LS. Its a 2-Door Coupe with 121,000 miles on it. Kelly Blue Book says its private party value in fair condition is $2,735 but I think the price is too high for the things that are wrong with it. The rear fender has a dent in it from someone backing into it. The front bumper also has some paint chipped on it from someone backing into it. The drivers side seat does not move forward or back without going under the seat to adjust it. What is a reasonable price I can sell my car for? I was thinking to advertise it for $2000 and see what I can get for it? Is that too high or too low? What do you think? That is what my friend said too. Thanks.... moreResolved Question: Am I just ugly? Why don't women go for a RESPONSIBLE SINGLE FATHER? 23 yrs old?

And dating sites suck :p I may be picky, but I make eye contact and smile, I dont act desperate but I do throw my fair share of bones.. ONCE AGAIN: great responses.. I dont go to bars much, its expensive and I have to provide for my son. I am more into ethnic women, asian and hispanic. The black hair and skin tone tend to catch my attention. I am not advertising myself, it's more so that I want someone to show common interest. Im not one to approach a woman either, cause the father status... Anyone within 4-5 years of my age is fine with me. Im half white and mexican btw and my son is half filipino. No baby mama drama... I appreciate your answers. For'eal. I feel better, not so much like a loser haha. THANKS :] moreResolved Question: New car insurance bumper sticker?
I recently switched insurance providers, and got my proof of insurance info in the mail today. Along with my card and everything I got a bumper sticker that has nothing but the company's name on it. A note was attached that said I have to put it on my car as a proof of payment. I'd really rather not turn my car into a billboard if I don't have to. Does anyone know if this is in fact a requirement, or if it's just an advertising ploy? moreResolved Question: English...............?

I live in nyc does anybody know companies that will pay me to advertise on my car? Or who to call? thanks moreResolved Question: How do you get your car wrapped in advertisements and get paid for it t?
I have heard of people getting their cars done with a huge Rockstar Energy Drink logo and all that and there getting paid to advertise. I wanted to look into this but I cant really find a good site. Can someone tell me how this works and where I can find a place to do this? moreResolved Question: Local church wants to take my younger brother to their youth group?
A few days ago my little brother grabbed a flyer that was on our doorknob that was advertising a free carnival for kids set up by a Christian Church a few blocks away. He is 8 and I am 16, and I babysit him often, as well as a cousin who is 6. A few days later while driving with both of them in my car they saw the lights and stands in the church parking lot. They begged me to take them down the street to this carnival and my mom said to take them, because they were making a fuss. When we got there it looked pretty lame. They had very few games and free cotton candy and popcorn, but they enjoyed themselves, even though we were there for less than an hour. Well when I walked in there they asked me to write my name, address, and kids name on a paper so they could mail an evaluation to my home on this carnival. Well today two ladies came to the door and said that they were going to be picking up my cousin and brother for their bible study on Sunday around 11 am and to have them ready! I told them that I don't think my mom will allow that and that we are not non-denominational Christians, we just went to the event because it was free. They then said that they wanted 20 dollars, 10 for each child who attended the event, and that it was only free to families who wanted to enroll their kids in the youth program! I then mentioned that I would have never wrote their names on the paper, I was told it was for a post evaluation. Well needless to say I told the lady not to come by on Sunday, because they won't be going and I was not paying anything and closed the door. Can I make a complaint against this church or these ladies? They really came to my door thinking they owned my brother!!! more
