Voting Question: LOOK IF YOU WANT TO CANCEL AUTO RENEWAL!! YOU DONT HAVE TO CALL XBOX SUPPORT TO CANCEL THE AUTOMATIC RENEWAL!!?
Ok, so this isn't a question but I just want to say I see alot of people trying to cancel the automatic renewal for xbox live and you dont really need to go through the hassle of calling support, all you have to do is the following Go to www.xbox.com, sign in Go to My Xbox, Click the arrow for the drop down menu,Then click My Account Then click Membership Level Once you click Membership Level you should see the word "On", Click the word "On" When you click that word you may need to click the word "Next" a few times like myself. Because they try to advertise Xbox Live, and they dont want you to take auto renewal off, but if they do advertise, it is ok just click next until you get to the proper page. {NOTE} You may not need to click next a whole bunch of times like I did you may just need to scroll all the way done, I guess it just depends. When you do get to the proper page click the little round box next to the word "Off". Please read on that screen. ~Your changes will not be reflected until the term of your of your current member ship has expired.~ And also read. ~NOTICE: If you extend your membership by redeeming a prepaid code prior to the expiration of your current subscription, auto-renewal of your subscription will be reactivated.~ If you do renew it with a prepaid code, you can always redo this process, or you can delete your credit or debit card from the account, but if you plan to buy other things from Xbox Live with your card, you should probably leave it on the account and stick with this process. Because if you remove your card from your account and want to buy something else, you will need to go through the process again of putting your card on the account. And personally for me this process is better and easier, than putting a whole bunch of numbers on a game system each time. Then click Next again. And now you have turned your automatic renewal off. ~NOTE~ If you would like you can also add me on Xbox Live gamer tag lil T885 moreVoting Question: HOW TO BUY USED CHEAP BUT GOOD CAR IN AUSTIN TX, FIRST TIME CAR BUYER, DON'T WANT TO GET SCREWED OVER!?
I want to buy a car, i just need a cheap runaround to get me from home to work to college to the store etc. I don't get how cars can be "worth" so much though, like 10, 12, 15 year old cars with 150,000+ miles are still worth thousands, eh?? So whenever i look online at used cars they show me ones for 8, 9, 10+ thousand $'s, but if i ask to search under that they show me pieces of crap. I don't understand the whole buying process and am trying to know as much as i can because i know dealers and that take advantage of people who they think don't know a lot about cars and such like. I just want a car for under $3000 that runs, hasn't been in a wreck or anything (i don't mind cosmetic scratches and dents etc but i don't want a front wing smashed in or anything) I don't want to have to spend a fortune on it, like replacing the gear box or if the floor is rusty etc. It just needs to run and last for 2 or 3 years basically. I just need help with where to look, I've tried eBay, auto-trader, dealer websites etc, but without much luck. I'm not looking to buy a car online without seeing it first but i just wanted a couple of definite places to look to save aimlessly looking round dealer lots. Also the websites say things like ...."Sales Tax, Title, License Fee, Registration Fee, Dealer Documentary Fee, Finance Charges, Emission Testing Fees and Compliance Fees are additional to the advertised price." what are all these extra things and how much are they? if the car is advertised at $2,995 will i end up paying like $5000 when all this extra stuff is added? Someone please advise me.Thanks 'theneelster' for your answer, I didn't think of craigslist, I dont need a super fancy one, i just wanted a little sedan type corolla or something like it, i didnt want a great honking truck or SUV (probably the only person in texas who doesnt). I would be fine doing general maintenance like oil change and tyres etc but i just wanted to know how to check for other things like if the floors rotten and if the gear box will last or the engines about to go bang, coz unless i was definitely planning on buying it i cant afford to have a mechanic look at every car i see so i wanted to be able to know enough myself to decide whether its a viable option. moreResolved Question: What's the difficulty level on putting an internal HD in a case?
I've read about it enough that the option keeps coming to me while researching the best external HD to buy. This would be cheaper -- probably not drastically so, but I'd still want it to be a considered option. I also think of it, because I know a lot of external HDs advertise auto-backup software -- which is not something I need. I'm not backing up, I just have a HD of ~110gb on my laptop but have a lot of movies and other big files that aren't updated (like word or excel files), that would be better suited on another HD (where I could watch them off it, or temporarily copy them to my laptop when I wanted to watch them). I'm experiencing some doubt of my technological abilities**, so I wanted some advice on this process (to help choose, or not choose, to do it). **also composed of being a full-time student, and so money I'll be spending on w/e HD would be more to me than someone who's got a regular income. I don't want to try this, then find out something doesn't work and have wasted the money. ALSO --this may be stupid, but I know portable HDs are smaller b/c they use a laptop HD, but it's compatible to either type of computer, right? (ie: I could use a non-portable HD that uses a "desktop" HD with my laptop or a portable one on a desktop)Wow, thanks for all the answers so far. regarding one of them: yea, I looked up prices on some cases and see that an external one might be cheaper than casing an internal one (I was just working of the older notion when externals used to be considerably more expensive than internals) moreResolved Question: What if Obama were to nationalize pharmaceutical companies?
Along with his endeavors to nationalize the finance, health, and auto industries, I think he would do well to work on drug companies. The industry claims prices are so high because of research costs. But any of you who have ever worked in a hospital or doctor's office or clinic know what waste the drug companies expend on freebies, including lunches and dinners out for whole departments. It all comes under advertising. If the pharmaceutical companies did not spend so much on advertising-- tv, magazines, radio, billboards, promo items, etc.-- drug costs would come down significantly.Do they even need to advertise? The only people who need to be kept up to date on new meds are doctors. Anyone can search online for interactions and applications and counterindications.TV and magazine ads just create more hypochondriacs daily. Exactly what the drug companies want.Look around your doctor's office next time and see all the free gizmos you pay for. moreVoting Question: Economics Homework Help?!?
You have accepted a job as a senior economist with a large Canadian business or labour union. Your position requires you to research and analyze market and industry activity in Canada. The focus of your latest investigation is a cost-benefit analysis of the impact on the marketplace of a particular government initiative. Topics to talk about are: Corporate Takeovers and Mergers, Advertising to Children Consumption Taxes on gas and Tobacco Price Subsidies on Agriculture Production Technology and Innovation Collective Bargaining Privatization of the Government Services Inflation Control Consumer Confidence The Value of the Canadian Dollar relative to the US Dollar The Cost of a Clean Environment Saving the Auto Sector Identify the criteria that at least three stakeholders (producer, consumer, labourer, labour union, government etc) would use to evaluate the impact of these issues on the marketplace. The criteria might include the impact on the markets involved in terms of prices, quantity and quality of production, and other intangible factors. No Clue what to do for this, any ideas? moreResolved Question: Do auto insurance companies have to show you the ads of comparable vehicles if requested?
Ok, my car was recently totaled, and to put it bluntly, the insurance company is trying to pull a fast one on me. First, in the report they put the incorrect mileage on the car and then tried to say the car had no sun roof. I fixed that problem and they raised their adjustment by $2000. Now, in the "mitchell vehicle valuation" report, they have 3 cars listed as comparable vehicles. Two of the ads I can confirm are real as I found them myself. The third ad seems very fishy, as there is no VIN number for the car in the ad, or stock number, and it's just listed as a "Private Web Listing". Also, this ad just happens to be selling the car for $3000 less than what the other ads are advertising for. Now, my question is, in the state of Arizona, do I have the right to demand to see this ad and verify its authenticity? The "Private Web Listing" is claimed to be on cars.com, but I can not find it. moreVoting Question: What are some websites that I can advertise my 10th Prestige Lobbies?

I listed my car on Cars.com and I received a call [from an Unknown number] from a company called 'AutoMarketingGroup' who has been calling me claiming to have a 'client' who wants to buy my car and it sounds as if they are the 'middleman' or the financing company, maybe both. Of course they are trying to polish the deal and make it sound really good and sweet talk me and then as expected, wham! They ask for a Visa/Mastercard for a $500 in "advertising/profile/securities fee" that I am guaranteed to get 100%back. I tell them I will call right back and do some research. I haven't been able to find out definitively whether this company is a scam or not so I called them back and told them I wouldn't be dealing with their company and not to waste their breath. The 'finance manager' says he will take $250 instead and I request a contract be emailed to me. Wouldn't you think if they were legit they would send it FIRST, before taking a credit card? I know it sounds bad and I am very wary of Scammers. I don't want to be naive but even though these guys sound shady maybe there is still a deal to be worked out here? Its easy enough to see now especially after writing this how complicated and not safe it sounds but maybe I am wrong and maybe I can get some insight / second opinions from you on this.It is SO easy to see now that there is an easier way to sell my car and a less worrisome way, I will not be doing business with them. However, I would still like to see what you all think/ or have experienced, maybe for someone elso who is considering dealing with this company. hey everyone...i have a small used car dealership and i have been doing okay through these tough times for the auto industry. recently however, it has been very very slow, and i need to sell some cars! i have some of the best prices in the market, and i advertise on craigslist almost everyday...which for the past year, has been where i have sold the majority of my vehicles. i have advertised everywhere from local magazines, newspaper, autotrader, and i even have my own website. its weird because all the money i spent on advertising, i hardly got my return. i feel like the magazines and newspapers called me just to make me feel like i was getting traffic, but no one ever showed up from one of those leads. i was wondering if anyone has any ideas as how to bring traffic onto my car lot. maybe certain places i can advertise, or a promotional event of some sort? i feel like ive tried everything. thanks so much for your help!! btw, im located in riverside, ca which is a relatively dense population, and i am in between two main streets.. moreVoting Question: How Can i get my money Back for a used car i financed that is unsafe and defective?
I have purchased a dark blue 2006 Dodge Magnum in December of 2009 from North Coast Auto in Bedford Ohio. The car was found online and myself and my boyfriend worked with a John to make this car mine. It was advertised to have a new engine, keyless entry, tinted windows, clean interior, ect. A used car in excellent condition, sold for the bb value of excellent condition. John also informed us that while he was holding the car for us he noticed a crack in the windshield so he had that replaced. We had gone to the dealership the middle of December and put $400.00 down then arranged to take $2600.00 later to pick up the car. We had taken the rest of the down payment the end of December and the car was still not ready they told us. Then after about two more attempts to go pick up the car at a time that was convenient for me and my work schedule, TaRodd and I made it up there, John said it would be ready that morning. I called him multiple times and he ignored the calls so I left a voice message stating that I would be there at noon because I had to be at work at 1:30pm. The last time we spoke he said it would be ready as he said in the morning. Once we got there he looked a little surprised and said it would be one more hr, that they were finishing the detailing. He had me sign the papers, I didn’t feel comfortable signing the paperwork without seeing the car other than online but he assured me that if anything was wrong with the car we would shred the paper work and refund the down payment. Tarodd and I then waited and at 1pm I had to call in to my job and use 2hours of my paid time off so that it would not affect me attendance because the car was still not ready. We kept waiting and then I had to leave for work and they said that Tarodd could stay and look at the car and bring it to me and if I find anything wrong I can take it back. Well Tarodd didn’t leave the dealership until 8:45pm after they had closed. They then gave him the keys and left. Driving Back To Akron TaRodd then noticed that the engine light had popped on, he called john’s cell, to tell him what happened an that it needed fixed but was only able to leave a message. Once I got off work we noticed that some of the nuts on the outside of the hubcaps were missing also that the hatch back door did not hold itself up. Then it snowed and we noticed that something else wasn’t right and moisture was inside and the defogger was not working. We had to snow scrap the inside of the windows while driving or I wouldn’t be able to see outside. Then the check engine light came on, and the control arms were wobbling and would cause the car to jerk around. While these things were happening Tarodd and me were calling Jon and leaving messages demanding he called me back and that the car was unsafe to drive. When he did answer he apologized and assured me that the car would be fixed completely and told me that he hadn’t called me back because he gave my number to Bronco from North East Auto who was the garage that fixed their vehicles, and that he was supposed to have called me, but didn’t. He said he would call Bronco again and he gave me his number as well so that I could call him if I did not hear from him by the next day. When I did have to call Bronco the next day because he did not call me all he said was to bring up the car and he would fix it, but when I asked how long it would take he would not answer and said just drop it off. I asked when to bring the car he kept telling me to drop it off before 7:30pm but I worked until 10pm every night. I explained that to him and so did Tarodd and he then said have Tarodd drop it off. Tarodd drove up there the first time and they kept it 1 week and didn’t do anything except reset the check engine light and told him to bring it back on the weekend so they could finish fixing everything. So then 1 day after he got it back, prior to taking it back on the weekend, the check engine light came on and the car was still emitting lots of black smoke when it would get on the high way and when I would increase speed on the high way. It was clear when it snowed that nothing was done the week they had it because the windshield was still leaking. Then on the weekend Tarodd again dropped the car off on his way to class and they had it 8hours and when it was picked up they told Tarodd that they had to order parts and that they would need it for another week. Well we got the car and told them this is ridiculous and that they need to get everything together because this is a bigger hassle than needed. We then left multiple messages on Broncos and Jon’s phone requesting a call back regarding when they had all the parts. No one ever called us back. Then it was time to get new plates and I hadn’t gotten an E-check because the check engine light was on and would not pass so Tarodd and I drove up and told them we were on our way. Once we got there Bronco asked us to make a list of things needed done so we quickly wrote done the major moreResolved Question: Journal Entries for Accounting Help Please?

Please and Thank you! moreVoting Question: Advice on starting a business?
Okay , so I am about to start training for a new job , which is a mobile auto detailing business... It is owned by a sheriff with about 11 workers..... 3 days before my training I ran into someone that worked for them .... said nothing but bad things , like they give you all the bad jobs and all the supervisors get the good ones ... He also told me that they make you drive to places like 30-45 minutes away to do a $30 car wash , when the cut is 60/40 ... So basically after wasting gas and toll money .... I will make like 5 bucks ... Another part of this job requires you to pass out flyers to businesses in my area so I can get more work , but what is stopping this guy from not giving me credit when my referrals call him , even though he is a cop. This coming saturday and sunday I have to drive 45 minutes away to meet a supervisor so he can train me for this job ..... I will make ZERO money while in training ..... so now you know my situation ... I want to start my OWN auto detailing business , I plan on going to the training and learning everything I need to know then quiting like a week later lol ..... I hear he makes you sign a contract saying you won't start a business though but isn't there a way around that ? like putting it in someone elses name It makes NO sense to work my ass off advertising for his business and getting the Shitty jobs 30 minutes away ...... what do you think ? should I do his training then quit and start my own? moreVoting Question: Thoughts on a Grand Theft Auto 5?
Grand Theft Auto The Ballad Of Gay Tony had a hint towards possibly GTA V (or 5) It stated "liberty city it's over" and then a small viagra type medicine ad clipping. and that same ad appeared in gta vice city and if you think back gta 3 took place in liberty city all other games did not include roman numerals until gta 4 wich took place in the new liberty city and then i can assume that the next one will be vice city also because this medication that was being advertised first word started with V and the seccond word was C V-ice C-ity i just want to hear some opinions but gta v wont be coming any time soon rockstar has a few priorities to come first such as agent (PS3) Red Dead Redemption (PS3/XBOX360/PC) and although they are just finishing up RDR they have just released GTA Episodes From Liberty City on PS3 and PC. so that can tide us over. but i can estimate that we wont see a gta in 2010 i think late 2011 or early 2012 (by febuary they should have it done but we can expect an announcement by the end of this year and maybye early next year. in gta IV they had to make an all new game engine they can just re-use this new game engine (so it will be easier for rockstar to make) so early 2012 is a little beyond what it should be. october or november 2011 is my guess let me hear your opinions about this moreResolved Question: What are some really good ways to advertise a service?
Im 15 turning 16 in May and am trying to start an auto detailing business out of my garage. Recently my vehicle was in an auto accident. After the repairs were completed, I sent a great big thank you to my insurance company for the awesome job they did handling my claim. I was asked to participate in a training video for my insurance company and relate my experience, I was paid $150 to do this, which I gladly did. I have been recontacted by my insurance company, they now want me to release all rights of the training video so that they can have unlimited use in/on: their website, tv commercials, banners, brochures, etc... What would I charge them for the unlimited use of this video? They indicated that it was very powerful in their internal training and now want to put it on their web page for viewing. moreResolved Question: How to get rid of annoying software on pc?
Dear Yahoo commuters! I'm in a bit of a schtickle here, as recently my PC took it upon itself to auto-validate itself, the result being that apparently I have a counterfeit copy of Windows XP - even though I don't. Now ever since then I have this annoying software/tool thingy that keeps telling me to validate my Windows now, by buying lots of lovely Microsoft goodies, and has a bar come up on my main desktop advertising the severity of my counterfeit risk. What I want is to get rid of it, get it off my computer altogether for good! I've deleted everything to do with it in the program files and control panel, but it still lingers!!!!! HELP ME!!! I just read this article on the net, and I have one of my own, to add. The "Free Extras" scam. Even if you do not choose to buy a car, you may be eligible to receive a Walkman, CD player, cell-phone, calculator, and so on" have found themselves facing very agressive sales-personnel, who get very annoyed if a visitor asks about the advertised offer, without buying an auto? Did anyone else know about the scam where a dealership will "hold" your keys, as "collateral", until you decide which car you will buy? I purchased a 2004 Santa Fe from a used car lot. When I bought it, I believed it was an LX trim, with a 3.5 liter engine... as per the online ad on their website and on auto trader. However, I found out after purchasing it that it is the GLS Trim model, with a 2.7 liter engine. On kelly blue book the difference in value between the vehicles is: the GLS model is worth roughly 10% less than the model I thought I was purchasing. Now, the bill of sale does not list a trim. Just the make and model. However, I have a print out of both adverts, both with a picture of the car I bought, stating the 'false' specs. Is this enough to prove false advertising? I would ask for my money back, but I spent $75 registering the vehicle and $275 buying tires for it. I would need to be reimbursed for those costs should he offer a return. It seems ridiculous that the Nissan Leaf is not considered a major prospect in the Alternative Fuel Sections of Yahoo Autos. Either way I think Yahoo's owes it readers to be unbiased and impartial about all green technologies that are available or soon to be available to the Public. I have received a lot of interest in my truck since listing it for sale yesterday on Craigslist but an auto dealership wants to buy it right now for the price I am asking. I do not want to sell it to a dealership. Do I have the right to say no or is that discrimination?I too agree that I must have set the price to low to have so much interest which is a bummer for me. When the dealer comes to see the truck in about an hour can I tell him I raised the price? It seems really shitty for me to do that but I really love this truck and am only selling it because it is not right for our family anymore. I know I can sell it to someone (not a dealer) and feel good about the person buying it not some money hungry dealer. ArghhUpdate- I increased the price to $14,000, ditched the dealer and have a few people coming over to see it today even at the new price :) moreResolved Question: I need to find the Hyundai commercial that shows a teen playing grand theft auto?

Here is one but kind of a gamble. Invest money and work till you get 30,000 dollars. Say you are going to host a the biggest race of all time.Advertise BIG......charge 1,000 dollar admission fee. Must be driver, navigator plus a car. Have 100-150 ppl enter race. Winner wins 30,000 dollars you stay with the rest. They are responsible for food,hotel,safety,etc..make a map to the harshest conditions. Then with that money invest in small stores(some of the money) and stocks. I think this is hustling but no? because winner get 30G,2nd get 10G and 3rd 5G. And of course I'm going to have to find a cheap .way to follow them all. Then with all that money actually start a REAL racing league like NASCAR but in extreme environments with no safety kind of like a Bullrun+Death Race mix. Pay per view 100 for 1 race-150 for 2 and so on .To be in it 1000 dollar admssion applies to this league too or maybe not seeing the recession. I answered a question here, and it was flagged. I thought the answer was good, and I couldn't see where it was against the community guidelines, so I appealed the flag. However, I ended up losing -- the Yahoo Answer moderator (not sure what they're really called) decided it was a solicitation. However, I can't see it. Do they think I'm soliciting on behalf of Google or Bing? Here's the answer and their decision: "Can you pay monthly vs. yearly or semi-annually? $2000 per year, while it looks like a lot, is probably pretty decent given the situation. Actually -- that's $166 monthly (plus some fees if you actually pay monthly).. that's not bad at all, sorry to say, and I haven't been 18 for a long time... I paid much more than that. You should look into high risk auto insurance providers. I know that around here, they advertise on local TV all the time -- 'insurance for as low as $45' -- while it's virtually impossible to get insurance that low, I was paying less with Titan Insurance than I was quoted for Allstate, Progressive, and State Farm (about $3,000 yearly)... You won't get a rate anywhere near that, but these flat-rate, high risk providers tend to offer lower rates for high risk drivers than mainstream insurers do. To find a high risk insurance provider (broker, preferably) locally, search Google or Bing for 'high risk auto insurance' + state name + city name (or some variations without the quotes). For instance, if you live near Birmingham Alabama, search for 'high risk auto insurance birmingham al' or something like that. Google may be better as they tend to provide local listings alongside the web-based listings. Alternately, get a quote from every single insurance company that you can find. It'll take a lot of work, but if you use an online insurance broker (they help you get quotes from multiple insurance companies simultaneously), it'll save you some time. Good luck." Violation Reason: SolicitationWell, I always have lost my appeals... but on this one, I thought it was a helpful answer, so I tried to fight it. Maybe it's not possible to win an appeal, then? That's quite ridiculous if that's the case.It wasn't just the initial report, it was after my appeal and when the Yahoo Answers staff or their contractors decided this was a solicitation. After the first answer here, I got to thinking about it -- I've appealed a small handful of flags since I started on here, and I've lost each appeal, though this is the only one that I can think of that told me which Community Guideline I violated. It's just aggravating to put in a decent effort to answer a question to have some slow-wit with tenuous grasp on basic word meanings and context to say this as a solicitation. In the grand scheme of things, this isn't a big deal... I just have little tolerance for incompetence... and it irritates me because their reasoning doesn't make any sense.Riki - no offense meant, as you apparently have spent a great deal of time here -- but answers ARE suggestions. People are coming here to seek help -- suggestions -- and if suggestions are solicitations, nearly every single useful answer on this service is in violation of your version of the Community Guidelines. It's absolutely ludicrous to even entertain the thought that a question and answers community prohibits users from giving others suggestions in their terms of service / rules.Riki - I apologize -- in re-reading your answer a few times, I've come to the conclusion that you probably meant you were giving me a suggestion, not that you were suggesting that suggestions were solicitations. Which, I would compare my poor interpretation to the deplorable job the moderators did with my appeal... but it's different as it's their 'job'. Though, again -- I apologize for my 'dimwittedness'. I'm just going to drop it -- I've let this trivial thing consume too much of my energy today. Thanks for all of your responses. moreResolved Question: Virus on my computer? I click on Google search links and it redirects to ads!?
Ok I have a sony vaio laptop running Windows XP. When I run google search through Internet Explorer and then click on the search results it will link me to differing advertising type pages. When I hit the "back" button it will usually go to the correct site. This does NOT happen when I use Mozilla. It's still working fine on Mozilla. I've been sitting here doing a bit of research and coming up short. I thought I might have the Koobface virus as my son is on facebook a lot but I watched a video on youtube telling me what files to look for and those were not on my computer. So I'm back to square one. I then began looking at my processes in Windows Task Manager and I see I have two executable files running called ati2evxx.exe. I've read in several forums where they said this is normal but then I saw a guy write in another thread that there is a trojan with this file name. So how do I know if they are both legit or not? Could this be my virus? If not please let me know. Also, I run AVG free version of the antivirus protection so did it just miss this thing? The other day a friend of mine came over and was helping me to speed up my laptop a bit as it has gotten slow and he was unchecking many of the start up processes. One was the automatic updates for AVG. So did unchecking this auto update maybe cost me a virus? I've since updated AVG but it hasn't resolved the problem. These things can be nightmares. Currently, I'm using mozilla to get around it but I want it gone as I don't know if it will ultimately affect other processes. Any help from you gurus is greatly appreciated!Several are telling me different things and I can't find the free version of the malwarebytes. Have they discontinued it? I work at a small insurance company this is my first time ever working in insurance. We are like the low end insurance only offering auto, home, motorcycle. The kind where you don't need a drivers license or good credit. I work alone everyday except I have someone here on Mondays part of the day. I am here from 9-6 with an hour lunch. I have to be at the bank to make my daily deposit by 830 each morning even if it is my day off. I get paid 10 bucks an hour I was told I was to receive commission if my sales were at a certain percent and have no access to any kind of medical coverage. I got commission my 3rd and 4th month here but nothing before or since I am making about 325 a week now and I get an email from my boss that says We need to concentrate on keeping the customers we have and increasing the number of new customers. We should NOT be decreasing in our total sales or our total premium collected. We should always be increasing in sales year after year. I want each of you to give me three reasons why you believe we have lost sales and three ideas on how you plan on increasing your sales in 2010. To those agents, please tell me how you believe you have increased your sales and three ideas on how you plan to keep increasing sales in 2010. I feel like I am stuck here in this office alone I get to leave for an hour for lunch and she wants me to advertise and hand out fliers on my own time, get people in the doors, etc. but doesn't want to pay for anything. She says we have no money to do anything so it is up to me to figure everything out. I feel like I am being used for way much more than I am getting paid for. She doesn't come to the offices she sits at her house everyday and keeps in contact by phone. Its a struggle just to get stamps! I don't know what to tell her without sounding bitter, I just have never had to do this type of thing before, someone help! She tells us there is no budget for anything and I have to make do with what we have. I make my own fliers and print them out she even uses my fliers to send to other agents to use because I do a good job. I dont pay for the fliers I just use Word to make them and print them with our office printer.I am licensed but only with the Limited Lines, so its not like I could go to a bigger company like Allstate who require P&C. Its a license to write polices with county mutual companies that we use. Thanks for everyones advice! After searching unsuccessfully for a shop for sale/lease on a busy main road, I have decided to lease one slightly off the main road. I think the previous owner did well considering the location. I asked him how I could boost sales. He was honest and told me he didn't know. He tried advertising in the Yellow Pages, has a pretty decent web site which offers coupons, is active in the community, sponsoring kids sports teams and advertises in local newspaper. He says his efforts were mostly ineffective and that he has seen very little response from this. What can I do? moreResolved Question: Can a auto repair shop hold my car for pmt if they didn't disclose the type and amt of the diagnostic test?
I had my car towed to a repair shop in Chicago (87th Cottage Grove) by AAA around 1/13/2010. The car had sat a week in the 1st heavy snow of the year. After the car was taken off of the tow truck, I put the key in the ignition, and it started. I put my keys along with a detailed letter about what was wrong with the car, in the night drop box. I had called the shop that day and talked to the desk clerk, who instructed me where to leave the keys. I decided to leave a detailed letter explaining what was wrong. I kept a copy of the letter. I had used the repair shop before for an oil change, so they had my contact information, in addition to my contact info on the letter. They have a sign in the window saying a diagnostic test costs $39.99. I called for 3 days, asking when the car would be checked out. They finally checked the car out and told me that the problem was the motor. They told me another motor would cost $1,800. Or they said I would have to pay $100.00 for the diagnostic test, which is $60.00 more than the sign says in the window. I never signed anything, and now they say I have to pay storage charges, in addition to the $100.00 for the test. I'm willing to pay the $39.99 price for the test as advertised in the window, so AAA can tow my car to my home. What can I do?My point is about disclosure. Just like with my job as an Income Tax Preparer, our industry has all types of disclosures we must give to the customer (finance charge, filing options, etc). Whatever test they were going to perform, they should have explained it to me, along with the cost. --given me an option. They told me I wouldn't even get $70.00 for my 1995 chevy Lumina, but they were willing to take the car off of my hands, if I had the title. And they would forgive the $100.00 for the test. hmmm.? moreResolved Question: is he looking for a way out?

I'm now in the advertising part of my business I just started and I'm needing help coming up with prices and figured just to ask the public on here! My business is a mobile auto wash and detailing buisness where I have my work van equipped with all the necessary equipment (pressure washer, water tank, generator, shop vac, cleaning supplies, etc.) and I go anywhere to where a person would want to get their car washed or detailing on the spot at their work or home or wherever! Now my main two services include the basic wash which is just a wash of the exterior and shine added to the tires and cleaning out of the inside with a vaccum and armor applied and windows cleaned and optional scent added. Now what would be a good, reasonable price for this service for regular sized vehicles and then a price for large vehicles? And the other service will be the full detail which is everything, the basic wash plus wax job, cleaning of the carpets, engine bay cleaning, rims polished and just anything you can think of to be done. What would be a good reasonable price for this for regular sized vehicles and then a price for larger vehicles? Please help me with this! Have you seen those ads about used auto car events? You know they advertise that they will be in a mall parking lot, or inside your local event center? They are usually aired on TV. Well in my local town we usually have these events by the same auto dealerships in our local expo center. What they claim is that $99 will be your down payment and $99 will be your monthly payment etc. Do you think they can work with people with little or not credit? Because I need a new car and I really am not picky about the age or anything. I am 19 and I barely started working again last month, and I have two good paying jobs. So what are my chances on getting in on these special financing deals they talk about? You know $99 down and $99 per month. I have some money for a cheap car but I suppose I should try my luck there and build my credit since I only have internet and cell phone in my name. Any advice or warnings? One week ago I purchased a car from an auto dealer 3 hours away from me. I drove to the dealership to drive the car and have it inspected. The dealership and I agreed on a price. I am paying in cash and needed to move some money around, so they took $500 from me to hold the car and asked me to write a check for the remainder of what I owe on it, and then as soon as I receive the money that's getting moved around I will call them to drop the check and the deal will be done and I will then pick up the car. Here's the thing that's bugging me.....I found the car on the internet. I found it on a popular car website and it was also on the dealership's website. Even though I have supposedly purchased this car and signed all the paperwork, why are they still advertising it? I had a friend of mine email the dealership under her name and ask if the car was still available, and they told her it was. They even offered to let her test drive it. And this is all after I have supposedly bought it. Now I understand that they do not actually have the money in their hands yet; they only have $500 down from me. But the sales guy told me that would take it off the market. I actually understand their point of view if they want to wait to have all the money in their hands; what I DO NOT like is being bulls***ed and told that the car is off the market when they are still marketing it. Is this shady,or is this something all auto dealers do? I did extensive research on this dealership, and they are pretty reputable.
