This error is often caused by incorrect use of the "Strict" document type with a document that uses frames (e.g. you must use the "Transitional" document type to get the "target" attribute), or by using vendor proprietary extensions such as "marginheight" (this is usually fixed by using CSS to achieve the desired effect instead). This error may also result if the element itself is not supported in the document type you are using, as an undefined element will have no supported attributes; in this case, see the element-undefined error message for further information. How to fix: check the spelling and case of the element and attribute, (Remember XHTML is all lower-case) and/or check that they are both allowed in the chosen document type, and/or use CSS instead of this attribute. If you received this error when using the <embed> element to incorporate flash media in a Web page, see the FAQ item on valid flash. Also, can you show me the coding on how to center all my text?Just figured it out, this is the correct version: <a href="http://www.copyscape.com/duplicate-content"><img src="http://banners.copyscape.com/images/cs-bl-3d-234x16.gif" alt="Protected by Copyscape Duplicate Content Detector" title="Protected by Copyscape Plagiarism Checker - Do not copy content from this page." width="234" height="16" style="border-width:0px;" /></a> moreResolved Question: Is my webplus x2 working correctly?

Hi guys, I already know the answer just wanted confirmation this is the best way to do it I know Frames are old-school and not a prefered method of building a web page layout, but would using a frame be the best way to do this? I have in my banner a radio player which i dont want to reload each time you go to a new page because it restarts the player which will soon (and has) get/got very anoying. I have been using the wonderful code, found at the link below, to rotate banner ads in the header of my web page. http://javascript.internet.com/miscellaneous/rotating-banner.html It works beautifully on the 728 x 90 banners at the top of my page, but I also need it for rotating the 300 x 250 and 160 x 600 banners in the body, and the 468 x 60 banners in the footer. I was told that I could easily make the code work for all of the banners on my site by just making sure that my random number generator was only initialized once for the page and call it repeatedly to select the banners. Wha? I am a complete noob when it comes to this and I have no idea what that means. I am using Coffeecup's Visual Site Designer to create my site and just stick code into the cute little html box that I put where I want the ad, so please be gentle with my underdeveloped brain. Thank you for your help! There are four designated places for banner ads on my site. 728 x 90 on top, of which I currently have 3 advertiser's banners rotating upon refresh. I have a place for a 300 x 250 ad on the right underneath my website title graphic, a 160 x 600 banner under that, and a 468 x 60 on the bottom. The 300 x 250, 160 x 600, and 468 x 60 can currently only support one advertisement at a time because I can not make them rotate at refresh as the top banner ad does. Does that help clarify? If not, please let me know. moreResolved Question: Websites screwing up on Firefox and Internet Explorer?

Hey, so I've been trying out the new Dreamweaver CS5 for my webpage. I was using CS3 before - The problem is, in CS3, I would design my template in Photoshop, then move it into dreamweaver. For banners I want to write on, you simply copy the image source, delete the image, and then in the Background Image box you paste the image source you just copied. This makes the image a background for that area, and you can now type on it/have it stretch. In CS5, there seems to be no Background image field...unless you go to page properties and change the background which changes the entire page into that background. I tried using CSS, and it worked - for the banner. When I tried to do the same thing in the content area, it would also end up changing the banner background into the same background I wanted for the content area. I can't seem to find anything on it either on the web - if anyone could give me a hand, that would be awesome. Thanks. moreResolved Question: How can you ensure text legibility on low res web banners?

For a couple of months I've had this weird sound come up at random times. Really random, and not very often. It simply is this male deep voice that says: " WARNING! " And that's it, no advertising or anything else, just the word WARNING. For months I thought it was coming from my browser, some pop up ad or banner ad inserted in the webpages. like the ones that say " congratulations, you've won" and stuff of the same nature. But about a week ago i realized it came up like 3 times in a period of 2 hours when I had no web browsers open. And I have been picking that up more and more, it does it when no web pages or web browsers are open. I even had it come up right after a reboot. There is no pattern, and there is no system process I can identify in at the windows task manager. I'm using windows 7 and have scanned it with antiviruses and anti spy/adware programs. nothing is found. I don't have money to spend on Bluevoda hosting...so i want to only use the HTML on freewebs web builder. What i do is i preview the page, go to view then source and copy the HTML code. I save that to a notepad. Yet when i copy and past this to Freewebs HTML web builder, the buttons to my navbar are replaced with freewebs logo stating the the image could not be found, but the rest of the things such as my banner and other pictures i created are visible. I thought maybe i needed to go and upload the image files that are used in the navbar (much like what i did to see the other pictures i mentioned before)...so i upload two pictures, because the navbar has a mouse over function. (like turning a different color) but the navbar still doesn't show. So I took a look at the HTML code itself and found out that the names to the images i saved weren't the same. Even after i uploaded them straight from the bluevoda program. From the program they are titled 'But3a' and 'But3b' I want to go and just simply rename the the images to match the HTML code, but i'm afriad it may not work. So just in case this doesn't work the way i want it to, could you give me some other ways i could do this. I really want my site up and ready to go. So here is the HTML code I copied. I would've rather given you a link to take up less space. But here you go any way. <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"> <title>Home</title> <meta http-equiv="Page-Enter" content="blendTrans(Duration=1)"> <meta name="GENERATOR" content="Created by BlueVoda"> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function SwapImage() { var doc=document, args=arguments; doc.$imgSwaps = new Array(); for(var i=2; i<args.length; i+=2) { var elem=FindObject(args[i]); if(elem) { doc.$imgSwaps[doc.$imgSwaps.length]=elem… elem.$src=elem.src; elem.src=args[i+1]; } } } // --> </script> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function FindObject(id, doc) { var child, elem; if(!doc) doc=document; if(doc.getElementById) elem=doc.getElementById(id); else if(doc.layers) child=doc.layers; else if(doc.all) elem=doc.all[id]; if(elem) return elem; if(doc.id==id || doc.name==id) return doc; if(doc.childNodes) child=doc.childNodes; if(child) { for(var i=0; i<child.length; i++) { elem=FindObject(id,child[i]); if(elem) return elem; } } var frm=doc.forms; if(frm) { for(var i=0; i<frm.length; i++) { var elems=frm[i].elements; for(var j=0; j<elems.length; j++) { elem=FindObject(id,elems[i]); if(elem) return elem; } } } return null; } // --> </script> <style type="text/css"> img { behavior: url("pngfix.htc"); } </style> </head> <body bgcolor="#000000" text="#FFFFFF" style="scrollbar-face-color:#FF0000;scro… <div id="bv_Image1" style="overflow:hidden;position:absolute… align="left"> <a href="nolinks.html"><img src="SHEC Banner.png" id="Image1" alt="" align="top" border="0" style="width:800px;height:100px;"></a></… <div id="bv_NavigationBar1" style="position:absolute;left:230px;top:… align="left"> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" id="NavigationBar1"> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top" width="134" height="22"><a href="nolinks.html"><img id="bv01089" src="bv01089.gif" alt="of S.H.E" title="of S.H.E" align="top" border="0" width="134" height="22" onmouseover="SwapImage(1,0,'bv01089','bv… onmouseout="SwapImage(0,0,'bv01089','bv0… <td width="4"></td><td align="left" valign="top" width="134" height="22"><a href="nolinks.html"><img id="bv01090" src="bv01090.gif" alt="More about the dream" title="More about the dream" align="top" border="0" width="134" height="22" onmouseover="SwapImage(1,0,'bv01090','bv… onmouseout="SwapImage(0,0,'bv01090','bv0… <td width="4"></td><td align="left" valign="top" width="134" height="22"><a href="nolinks.html"><img id="bv01091" src="bv01091.gif" alt="Join Us" title="Join Us"I tried changing the names of the images to fit the navbar...but i'm afraid that it didn't work....and i'mnot completely good at the HTML stuff...I really need a way to take the HTML from Bluevoda and past it onto Freewebs so i can go on and have this site up all ready! please help me. It seems like the ads have started to encroach on the ability to actually view a page, there's tons of HD video ads that slow down your computer, full page ads before you can go to the real web page, background ads everywhere, ads inside videos (YouTube bottom banner ads). What happened that so many ads have been added!?!@Brian, good point, but since everybody has been trying to cut back internet is a cheap source of entertainment so wouldn't there be a jump in the number of people on a site and the site's ad space would be worth more? Then they wouldn't need to add more ads if they already have some pretty productive ones that aren't messing with the sites appeal to visitors. Idk, but first answer is dumb, "get a life" wtf, that doesn't answer my question, I didn't do anything to you! D: moreResolved Question: how to make forum submit replies to email ( HTML coding)?

I know broadband speeds and download limits are increasing all the time, but who feels the level of content on some web pages is slowly getting out of control? That extra bandwidth should be spared for streaming Video, IP phone etc., and the PC's resources spared for other applications, processes & services running. I take the point that revenue needs to be generated from these advertisements, and that the companies paying for the ads want something eye catching, but some designers are taking "snazzy" too far... - Too many large advertisements - Flash/Java animations everywhere - Too many interactive banners that catch users out if clicked or hovered over with mouse accidently - Sneaky advertisements with large white padding around the border - Badly designed mouse-over events for drop down menus Web page designers are in too much of a rush to show off all the cool things they can do with their code. (Even the wizards at Yahoo! are a little guilty here). What they should be focusing on is ease of use and faster load times. Do we need to go back to a simpler way of presenting the information? Sometimes the most basic solution is the best.... I'd hate to be a 50 year old learning to use the web today (No offence 50 year olds out there!) moreResolved Question: What do you look for when shopping online?
I'm looking to increase my web sales, and am having trouble competing with the "big names" that send a paper catalog every 3 weeks.... I have a small business, specialty sport retail, with high-end, and mid-priced quality equipment and apparel. Great customer service (we've been told), 9 out of 10 employees actively compete in our sport, yet it's been tough to transfer the in-store success to our website (as far as profit). We get the hits and page views, and items in the cart, yet people won't "pull the trigger" and actually purchase! It's driving me nuts! Sure, we sent coupons to current clients, promo codes in advertising, do banner ads....and all that seems to "discount" us, and ends up losing $ in the long run. Any other small businesses see growth online?? moreResolved Question: Who else hates though damn Evony banner ads!?
