Resolved Question: Why are the Raid anti-mosquito "Plug-Ins" available in Colombia but not in the US?

While living in Colombia I found Raid anti-mosquito plug-in products quite effective. They had one that plugged into any wall plug and heated up an oil, the other heated up a small strip. These heated substances either repelled or killed mosquitoes. All I know is that they were vital to a good nights rest in Colombia. I've returned to the US and can't find them in stores or even online! I'm baffled. Did they not pass some safety test for the US? Are they just not rolled out here yet? Note: these are not the products you see advertised here for outdoor use. They were to be used inside the house like a Glade plug-in but instead of a scent they dealt with mosquitoes. Thanks! more

I am a first time owner, we have found a lovely livery yard a 10 minute walk away from where i live, it has a lovely covered outdoor stable block, however it has only a small amount of grazing, they have no other liveries because they are not advertising their facilities, i would have use of their single paddock however it would be in the stable a lot of the time, the stable is very spacious, and airy, i am hoping to do light work with him every day possibly skipping a day here and there, i am thinking realistically that if it was out in the paddock all morning, 7am - 11am then goes back into his stable with a large haynet, i would be working with him in the afternoons/evenings.. depending on how much work he is doing could i get away with giving him a scoop of hard mix and then another haynet for the night? if he is doing light work everyday have you got any feeds you recommend? (UK) i was thinking either a sloppy mix which i could soak (sugar beet etc) or maybe a hard mix would be better? a scoop of alan and page happy hacker or light work mix? more

Resolved Question: Is there any way I can let potential renters at my old apartment know about how horrible it is?

Here's a summary of the apartment's flaws: - Street parking only. Between 2 bars, so parking is often 2-3 blocks away. - Registered sex offender with a violent temper lives on first floor. Landlord will not inform you of any of this information. Also, the apartment is in a converted townhouse and is not made to be soundproof, so you hear every word the downstairs neighbor says (often is screaming at someone in a violent manner). - Wiring in kitchen is screwed up. If you turn the microwave on, occasionally power would go out. This is with only having the fridge and microwave plugged in, nothing else on that breaker. The breakers were located in the neighbor's basement and there was no way to personally access them, just wait for the neighbor to come home and scold you for messing up the power. - Landlord does no maintenance. Grass must be mowed, snow must be shoveled, trash must be removed by tenants. Landlord is hard to reach when there are any general maintenance problems, and resists calling a professional to fix anything once actually showing up, despite having no fix-it abilities. - Turning the oven on sets off the smoke alarm, before there's even food in the oven. This was true from day 1, when the oven was clean. - Only exit is through kitchen. No fire escape. If there's a fire in the kitchen (the most likely place for a fire), you're in trouble. - Wooden, outdoor stairs to apartment are poorly constructed, and once broke while someone was walking down them. Landlord came and put two boards up to "fix" the problem. Stairs are still rickety and unstable. The stairs are the only way to exit or enter the apartment, so if they break, you're in trouble. - Mice and roaches from day 1. - Water leaks into next door house from shower, landlord refuses to investigate the problem and next door neighbor will constantly scold you for the problem. This is from the actual shower stall, water had not leaked out of shower, so basically you get yelled at for taking a shower. - Recently had a shooting and a stabbing (separate events) within a block of the apartment. - Upon move-out, landlord will attempt to cheat you out of your deposit. 1.- He's accumulated his great passing stats playing in a dome for half his games, and playing mainly southern teams in good-weather cities the rest of the time, both of which are conducive to better stats that manly outdoor coldweather cities like Boston, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, etc. 2.- He's 9-9 in postseason play...regardless of his regular season stats, when it matters most, he's a .500 quarterback. 3.- His defense doesn't hold him back as much as advertised. Hi well ive basically changed my excersise routine over the past couple of weeks and am really loving it and have noticed a huge difference almost immediately in my definition shape speed fitness and strength. A bit about me so you know where im coming from im female 25 , 5ft 2 just under 9 stone, from the age of 10 -19 i used 2 sprint semi proffessionally over the 100 meters and peaked at my fastest time just before i was 19 i was running the 100 meters between, 11.79 and 11.99.1, I was due to enter the junior GB team but i had a bad car accident which left me unable to train for almost 2 years , I began getting into the gym and running again at 22 and by 23 i was sprinting at a quick speed again and also training in different methods and classes to gain overall strength and fitness. Hi everyone, I've been working for almost seven years as an international finance controller in two major multinational French companies in Paris, one in outdoor advertising and one in pharmaceutical softwares and today I want to operate a major professional change with a double objective in mind: enter the entertainment industry and ideally come work in the US. I've looked around on the internet and I found some very good MBA specialized in entertainment ( more specifically UCLA, USC, NYU and Columbia). As every student applying for these kind of schools, I'm wondering what my chances are to be accepted in these programs ? One of my main concerns is the fact that I have NO experience at all in the entertainment industry so I was wondering if this was an obstacle to enter these types of MBA programs ? The next scene showed a coyote howling and then also exploding into a ball of fire. The commercial was actually advertising ammo that explodes into a ball of fire when it hits the target. The last little scene showed a shooting target getting hit by this ammo and catching fire as well. Unfortunately, I don't have any more details than this. I know this is a bit long.. I don't expect anyone to answer everything, but if you could answer even one or two questions for me, that'd be great! I'm a student photographer and am planning on putting together my portfolio over my xmas break and next summer! I want to work as a childrens portrait photographer both in a studio and outdoors, and I have a fair few shots already that I can use in the portfolio. Should I stick to just pics of kids in the portfolio considering this is the area I want to work in? Or should I have other pictures in it too? If I should, should i mostly have kids, and a just few other pictures, or half kids and half other stuff, etc.? I've got plenty of pictures of friends and family's kids that I have permission to use and will be doing some more shoots of the same kids over my break, but i don't want all the pictures to be of all the same kids. How could I get more parents willing to let me photograph their kids? I've asked friends and family to mention what i'm doing to people they know with children. I have also advertised online, but obviously people are a little reluctant to let strangers photograph their children. Maybe I worded the advertisment badly.. What exactly should I say? I have access to a studio, and will also be doing some outdoor shots (but the outdoor ones will mainly be during the summer, cause the weather is pretty bad this time of year where I live). Resolved Question: Are the two sheds on the property included in the sale of the house - mentioned on MLS listing?

We're in the process of purchasing a short sale in Rhode Island and we've been involved since April. We finally have the approval from the seller’s lender and have completed our inspections and appraisal. The house was occupied up until last month when the seller moved out. This past weekend she held an indoor moving sale (we know because the house was setup for it on inspection day). I came across an ad on Craigslist advertising the moving sale and she listed the items she wanted to sell. None of it mattered to us except that she listed the two outdoor sheds for sale as well. The sheds have been on the property for years and were specifically listed on the MLS listing. We didn’t specifically mention the sheds in the offer or contract but they were implied with the “house and property to remain AS-IS”. We always assumed they had to stay since they are structures on the property and were specifically mentioned in the listing. The exact line in the MLS listing was, “2 sheds in fenced yard.” Is she required to leave the sheds given this information or is she allowed to sell them whenever she wants? We have contacted our agent and are waiting for his call back, I’m just curious in the mean time. Thanks! more

in all of the books and articles i've read, people recommend that you keep your important documents with you at all times, i.e. passport, cash, flight and insurance documents etc, in a cotton 'pocket' type contraption under your clothes. that seems very well, but practically speaking you will have a big bulge down the front of your shirt and you're basically advertising your stash of important goods. Also, I have not seen such a mysterious 'wear under your clothes' contraption in any of the outdoor stores I've been to. where can i get it and do i really need it? more

Hi, I know I was a tad bit impulsive and so I'm springing a Chocolate Lab out of an animal shelter to rehome him. My motive was that I personally would love to keep this one for myself (he would get along with my Lab), however my other dogs are too aggressive to allow me to do this. I'd like to NOT bring a newbie into a situation that would offer poor socialization. Nevertheless, the shelter that he is at is in a sleepy county town, how on earth can one advertise a dog there, I thought! I feel that he just needs advertising! Anyways, I'm now thinking Oh boy! What have I done! I do have to rehome him thanks to my miserable dogs (LOL) bad attitudes. My dogs are not aggressive as long as I am present but if I'm not around, they'll pick fights. I have zero problems controlling all 4 anywhere (but I'm not a pro trainer, yet I've had full success training my own dogs in an informal manner for agility, and so forth...yet its been a long time since I've started from scratch!). I do have an outdoor kennel but that's as bad as letting a dog live in the shelter. I'd prefer to have the dog in a home environment to evaluate him. They did not (and do not) do temperament tests at this shelter (I wish they did!). I wish they would neuter dogs (oh, and heartworm test!) **before** placing them for adoption, in my opinion. I have plenty of dog experience and have witnessed the fabulous transformation that decreased testosterone can have on a dog, reducing its interest in roaming, and so forth. Ok, I may go onto a rant here! Also, it was way too easy to adopt at this shelter. They didn't ask for much info from me except my drivers license # (no home check, no interest in my financial situation, or pet experience, nothing!...I thought that was a little bit unusual, imo). I've never done rescue before, but now that I am involved I want to do at least this one successful rehome. I'm wondering, what did I get myself into!!! Maybe this is a lost cause? I have no clue what the success rate is for dog adoptions. Actually, I'll let you know that I already (in under 5 hours from coming back from the shelter from paying for his adoption fee) do have a potential adopter lined up. It's a couple (working nurses) who want a Chocolate Lab. I'm still hesitant though! because they have a dog that may be a problem because he's sensitive and likely a jealous nipper. They told me that he is rather submissive around other dogs. However, they've only had him around female dogs that were smaller than him and well socialized. I know their dog. But I only barely know the Chocolate Lab that I want to rehome. It's terribly hard to test him at the shelter! From my initial impression of him, I think he'll be fine with other dogs that are his size. But, in my experience, even Labs will pick fights with other dogs that bite first...which means this one may not work out. Anyways, if anyone can feed me ideas about how to do a proper rehome, send me information!Just to let everyone know, I worked with the shelter and River has been officially adopted!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) These dogs in my opinion just need ADVERTISING!!! Thanks for all the advice, and yes, I understand that I jumped in too fast, mostly it was on gut instinct because I saw this dog and thought I could get him adopted quickly. It worked!! But, yes, I'll be doing things differently next time (temperament testing first and so forth....getting statements in writing - contracts and what not!!! Resolved Question: Any advice for opening a cat shelter?

I'm planning on opening a cat sanctuary/adoption center. I've been planning it for years and now that I'm buying my own house, it can finally happen. I'm buying a small outdoor building, with a/c and heat of course. I'm planning on having about sixteen cages. Some may end up holding several cats each if they are in a litter. My plan is to rescue strays from streets and "kill shelters" and put them up for adoption through internet, newspaper, tv, etc. People will also be able to drop cats off for adoption for a small fee. I have a lot of ideas. I've raised cats my whole life, including several foster cats that needed rehabilitation. I've raised kittens and sickly cats that needed attention around the clock. I know all the signs of different feline diseases and know the importance of keeping the cats separated and keeping their environment clean. Here are my main questions: How many cats can I have without being recognized as an actually organization and needing a permit? (I live in Calera, OK) Or where can I go to figure that out? Where is a good place/site to get cat food, litter, vitamins, flea and tick drops, and vaccines in bulk? How can I give the cats "outside time" in a large caged area outside the building without spreading diseases? Any good advertising ideas? I appreciate any help :)One last thing that weighs heavily on my mind.. I want to have a no-kill shelter, but what about the cats that don't get adopted? I've tried freecycle to offer free coupons, and I've also tried on craigslist. I went to a school car wash with all of my friends. Of course there was soap splashing, water spraying, and the like, but I was one of the few people who didn't really go into the assembly line until the very last car, because I spent my hours jumping up and down frantically, "advertising" for the car wash by screaming out: "SCHOOL CAR WASH!!! ONLY $5!!!!". But during the last car wash, I was, of course, soaked in soap and water by my friends! It was soooo much funnn... After wards, my friends and I walked over to someones house, took off our clothes, and relaxed in an outdoor hot tub (IN THE BATHING SUITS WE HAD UNDER :D). I accidentally swallowed some of the chlorine water, which was filled with leaves, twigs, and other... junk... eww... Anyways I was running around in my bathing suit, until my dad picked me up... before everyone else... ugh... The rest of that day, I was extremely COLD... and when my mom and I were supposed to go to Target to pick up some things, I stayed in the car, with the heater on, and the windows barely open. I had fallen asleep, and when my mom came back into the car, she saw me drenched with sweat, but I felt like I only needed to be warmer... Before that day my friend was coughing near me, without covering her mouth... I will DESPISE her if she's the one that gave me this... And now I'm experiencing these symptoms: -Coldness, shivers -A small red blotch above my lips under my nose (It doesn't itch... It feels like normal skin) -Sensitive hands (This makes playing the piano very difficult and irritating...) -A... full... stomach... I can tell when I'm hungry, but after I eat, I feel like my stomach is being stretched... and I fell pain on the sides... -Nausea, but not enough to actually make me throw up... -Fatigue... even though I got 13 hours of sleep last night... :'( -Pain in my right arm... I can't lift it beyond a certain point (Though I DOUBT it's part of this.... condition I have...) -I had a small headache yesterday... But it went away after I drank water...
