Resolved Question: What song is played during the AT&T ad for the Samsung and their wide coverage?

The only specific thing I remember is that the ad focused on how awesome AT&T's coverage is and advertised a Samsung phone of some kind, and that the main image in it was a sort of orange-gold cloth--people running down a beach with a big banner of it, and...actually that's about all I can remember. No idea what song plays during it, because I can't find the ad itself anywhere online and can never catch enough of the lyrics to look them up. more

Voting Question: Why can't smart people stream without authorization, live radio and TV broadcasts for the masses?

You could have a server setup in a major city like New York that captures and streams the broadcasts to an offshore website, and have hundreds of such sites providing streaming for banner ad revenue. Then we would be free from the unnatural barriers, copyrights, and cable companies that all want a cut of the money and restrict certain broadcasts online etc! If the RIAA etc shuts down one, 10 more open up. Media evolves into what it should and one day will be sooner. Wonder why no one has done this yet? more

Okay, I am 18 years old currently, and I just had a brain wave; I was searching online for topics that interested me and I found that a lot of them are in forums. Resolved Question: What do you look for when shopping online?

I'm looking to increase my web sales, and am having trouble competing with the "big names" that send a paper catalog every 3 weeks.... I have a small business, specialty sport retail, with high-end, and mid-priced quality equipment and apparel. Great customer service (we've been told), 9 out of 10 employees actively compete in our sport, yet it's been tough to transfer the in-store success to our website (as far as profit). We get the hits and page views, and items in the cart, yet people won't "pull the trigger" and actually purchase! It's driving me nuts! Sure, we sent coupons to current clients, promo codes in advertising, do banner ads....and all that seems to "discount" us, and ends up losing $ in the long run. Any other small businesses see growth online?? more

This question is for recruiters, employers, hiring managers, etc.... I'm in the process of launching a no frills online job board for lack of better words. Resolved Question: 1. What have been the key success factors for Sony?

Sony Started as a radio repair shop, founded by Masuru Ikura and Akio Morita after Would War II. The company began its long history of producing compact consumer electronics in 1957, when it introduced the World’s first pocket-sized all-transistor radio. The company’s name, Sony, was taken from Sony, the Latin word for “sound” Sony went on to invest a series of transistor-based TVs and increasingly smaller audiocassette recorders. In 1979, the Sony Walkman introduced the World to a new, portable way of listening to music. Sony became a world leader in consumer electronics and was the first Japanese company to have its shares traded on the New York Stock Exchange. In the late 1980s, Sony began expanding into media, purchasing a U.S. record company (CSB records for $22 billion in 1988). And a major Hollywood studio (Columbia Pictures for $4.9 billion in 1989). The purchases made Sony a major force in the entertainment industry. The importance of marketing at Sony started with Akio Morita, who said that for a company to be successful, it must have three kinds of creativity: creativity to make inventions, creativity in planning and production, and creativity in marketing. Creativity in marketing at Sony means not just cleaver ads, but deep insight into its customers. For example, Sony knows its playstation customers like to find clues and to decode things. So Sony’s ads for playstation 2, like “Signs,” feature a young man walking the streets of a city where he encounters various signs foreshadowing the events. Mannequins appear in a store window, arms outstretched, and point enigmatically to something that’s about to happen. “The lead character is almost in the midst of his own role-playing game. He needs to follows clues to save the heroine”, said Andrew House, Sony’s executive vice president of marketing. In the ads, “we were essentially trying to tap into a range of emotions that we think we deliver in the games – intrigue, forebonding, excitement, panic, relief and achievement at the end”. Sony’s marketing also includes careful measurement of each campaign’s effectiveness. Foe example, Sony runs 30-second commercials for its Playstation as part of the previews in more than 1,800 theatres and on 8,000 movie screens. The ads appear before such films as “The Cat in the Hat”. Sony Computer Entertainment America has been running movie ads for six years.” Cinema advertising has been very effective for us”, said Amil Blaire, director of product marketing.” The reason why we have committed to cinema every year is the tremendous unaided recall shown by our own research and communicus – commissioned ad tracking”. Another example of measurement is Sony’s GenY youth marketing efforts. “The online program promoting the NetMD ATRAC CD Walkman and Cybershot U30 ran July 1 through September 30, 2003, and we found that more than 70 percent static banners”, said Serge Del Grosso, Director of Media and Internet Strategy, Sony Electronics”. In fact, Sony has even developed a direct-marketing solution which it sells to other companies who want to measure marketing effectiveness. The product, called eBridge[TM], allows marketers to use video, measure the effectiveness of the campaign, and gain insight into the target audience, all in one package. Sony expects that the next big breakthrough will not come from a single new electronic device.Rather, Sony President Kunitake Ando says that the future lies in making a whole range of devices more usefully linking them in a networked home-entertainment system. The company believes that its clout in consumer electronics, combined with its media content, will allow it to steer that convergence in a way that suits it. Whether the future of convergence resides in TV’s or PC’s or devices , $62-billion Sony makes every one of them- with a strong brand name that gives them an extra push off retail shelves around the world. 1. What have been the key success factors for Sony? 2. What recommendations would you make to senior marketing executives going forward? What should they he sure to do with its marketing? more

Resolved Question: How can I become a YouTube partner without Adsense?

HELP - I'm creating a YouTube account for my business (we do event photography and are creating little event highlight reels for our clients that we upload for marketing purposes) and we want the nice sleek channel design that you get with the partnership program (no banner ad, our own customized header and such) but we don't want adsense! We have no need to raise money with our ads on these videos, we simply want the higher level of channel customization. Is this possible at all? We get tons of views on our videos and channel due to the marketing emails with links to our videos we send out to customers; we don't have many subscribers (one really); not sure if all that matters, but thought I'd throw it in. Can anybody tell me if we can make this work? I've searched around online and on the youtube site but all you can find are people who really want the money you get with adsense, which doesn't help me. I appreciate any help anybody can give me! Thanks in advance! more

Resolved Question: What do you think of my business idea?

Okay I want to create my own online business. My idea is that people pay $5 to get into the business. Then for them to make money they have to recruit others into the business as well. It is also a 3 tier system. Every time you directly make a sale (recruiting someone) you get paid $3. Every time one of your recruits makes a sale you get paid $1. Then every time one of your recruits recruits makes a sale you get 50c. So the idea is to recruit as many people as you can, so you can have an army or affiliates under you on a 3 tier system making sales & money for you while you hardly do anything yourself. Also if people struggle to make sales they could buy referrals for 50c each. (which will be people that I directly refer to the business myself) People are paid by paypal & can request a payment anytime they like. There is no minimum payout & no waiting till the end of the month to get paid. Also people will get free downloads from my site every month. Plus there will be cash prize draws as well every month & everyone in the business automatically qualifies for the prize draws. I will take care of everything & make sure people get credit for their sales on all 3 levels. People can also contact me for any help anytime they like. So all it takes is a one time payment of $5 & the idea is to get as many people as you can to join, & hopefully you will be successful in doing so considering it is so cheap to join, & quick & easy to get started. I would provide quite a lot of info on my site for people to make money with this system. I will try to make it as easy as possible for anyone regardless of how little experience they have. I will also have banners people can use. As well as pre written ads with their referral link that people can simply copy & paste anywhere they like. I will also have pre written emails that people can add their link to & send them out, & edit the email if they like. They can check their live stats when they log in to my site, how much they've made & how much their referrals are making for them, conversion percentages etc. So what do you think of this idea? Should I change any of the prices? Should I add something extra? Should I change something? Do you think people will like this idea? Would you yourself join? Be honest please! TY 4 any comments. :-) more

Resolved Question: Computer Virus and Spyware?

It's been a while (couple of months) since I restarted my computer to refresh some memory but every since I did my computer now has some kind of a bug that I can't seem to get rid of. I am running Windows XP, if I need to provide more detail I can. I have Norton Antivirus running and I download Lavasoft's Ad-Ware to hopefully delete anything that's been causing problems. After a thorough scan using each application my computer still has issues. The scary thing is I have deleted numerous files including .dll files from the system32 folder since the Norton Antivifus software has pointed out these files that could be viruses. Also, the Norton real time protection keeps saying I have some kind of virus with 100+ notifications coming in. Basically, when I am online (using the Firefox browser) everything runs pretty slow. I'm not quite sure but when I do a search it's seems to trigger the ads and these are mostly websites and pop-up banners telling me I have a virus. The funny thing is as I am typing this it's running everything is running okay so it may be some of kind of intermittent problem. Any feedback would greatly be appreciated. more

Resolved Question: Does this sound okay? 10 pts?

We had to come up with a product for class and I came up with walk wear which is basically a hoodie with speakers in it so you can listen to music Does my body paragraphs and conclusion sound alright and if can you please let me know if I should make any changes. Thanks The average cost for a television commercial is about $200,000 for one 30-second commercial during prime time. The magazine ads are $1,200 to $5,000 per month or per issue depending on the ad size and demographics. Online ads are $0.60 pay-per-click or $1,200 - $1,800 a month for aggressive campaigns, although it does not include search engine optimization. Banner ads on websites can cost $200 to $1,200 per year and per banner. Websites cost $150 annually for domain and hosting, plus what you determine your budget to be for design and maintenance. A reasonable bottom line budget for an author without a large body of work for a basic site is about $500. Each of these advertising approaches will make a great impact on the consumer while convincing them to buy our product. Television commercials, magazines ads, online ads, and celebrity endorsement, are most favorable and popular today by society and will also help promote the merchandise. The target audience is anyone who enjoys listening to music. The cost effectiveness of the product is reasonably priced and well worth every penny. Also, the redundancy capabilities can be modernize and altered for future representation. Consequently, in order to sell the product Walk- Wear we will use a variety of different and alluring forms of media to capture the consumer. Television commercials, magazines ads, online ads, along with celebrity endorsements will help promote our product while making a new fashion trend.  more

Resolved Question: Christian Question about making money online...?

I have a question here... There are so many ways to make money online. I know some of them work, some of them don't. For the ones that do work... my problem with them is that it seems like you are supporting something that is for a bad cause. (i.e. banner ads on your website, clicking on ads to get paid per click, or per email read, rather than buying it like they want you too, surveys which require you giving out personal info, etc). My question is first, is there such a think as Christian make money online...thing (one that God would approve of). Second, is it 'ok' to get involved with most of these make money online things. Not pop ups but the regular banners on like Yahoo and blogs etc. But th one that really made me realise this was a virus is that all my yahoo results show up when I do a search, but when I click on my results they redirect me to other advetisement pages. for example if I look up Craigslist, instead of typing it into the address bar, the results obviously show craigslist. But when I clcik on Craigslist the address bar redirects me to results.yahoo.com and it goes to some other advertisement page. I have read other ya reporting the redirect thing and have followed what they were told but have had no luck. Also My Trend Micro wont even install! I want to install it to do a scan but after I installed it, it wont register. It keeps telling me that I need to connect to the internet even though I am! I contact Trend Micro and they always tell me that its fixed and to try again in 45 minutes, i think just to hang up on me, because I have been doing this for over a week. Any advise? more

Resolved Question: Is there a way to disable the "talking banner ads"?

You know the ones I mean. The ones that speak up and scare the crap out of you even sometimes or interfere with trying to watch a video online. "You've been selected to win a nintendo wii..." usually a woman's voice, and no option to mute? For the record whoever invented these needs to die in a fire. But still is there a way to set up your browser not to receive audio files unless you approve of it or something? I use firefox by the way. more

Resolved Question: Who is looking for advertising/hosting for their clan?

I know I posted this on here a couple weeks ago but I thought id ask again, I have aan online gaming site http://www.onlineshooters.net. Basically its a site for all 1st or 3rd person shooters with a good multiplayer following. If any clans out there would like to submit a link to me I will add it to my website, you are free to ad me to yours as well but its not needed. I am also interested in banner exchanges.
