Resolved Question: Can a dog breeder ask for further money if I want to KC register a puppy myself?

About 6 months ago we bought a pedigree puppy (she wasn't advertised as KC reg but both parents were) and she was cheap for the breed. We decided recently that we would breed her. we approached the breeder again to see if he would be willing to disclose both parents KC numbers so that we could get her KC registered ourselves. He asked for an additional £300. Upon speaking to several people, they have told us that this is actually illegal on 2 points: 1) The KC database is public and registration numbers should not be kept private. 2) The sale has already taken place so additional money should not be requested. Can anybody shed some light on this confusing matter? And is there a way of getting her registered without the parents numbers/ a way of getting them? Thanks in advance Markthanks for the prompt responses. sorry, I seem to be confusing some people. Upon sale, he told me that he didn't want to KC reg them as nobody would pay his price and wanted a quick sale. regarding registration, he told me that I would have no problems registering her myself. after the comments I have so far and looking at the KC website, would I be correct in assuming that HE would have to register her as opposed to myself with him being the owner of the parents? Thanks again, Mark more

Resolved Question: could someone with good english please cheack this for me ?

Hi Aer Lingus Despite my earlier email,.and your failure to reply . I however passed on your banner headline to " Tell a friend " , to lots of friends who l were equally , dismayed at the fact the TOTAL PRICE suddenly changed at the end of the book in to be nothing like the original quote , ie , when booking for two adults and a child ( 50% ) off ofer , the Total price seemed to ignore the fact that there were 3 persons ,travilling , and also the fact the the childs fare was more than the adult fare . Your site is at least very misleading , at most Ryanairsh . As I had promised the quoted the price to friends , I stood my ground and took the loss , but but appericate an explenation , of what I find is underhanded advertising , via email type promotions .As you fly the flag of what was once an airline, I would have being proud to say, I was from the country of origin , I feel very dissapointed ,in the fact your quailty of sAttach files more easilyervice, has gone so down market , on what I see as the future of marketing , the Internet . As I said before I booked the flights anyway , but please reasure me that in future you may look into what I and friends find totally misleading in your " TOTAL PRCE " box ,on the you book cheap fares site . Resolved Question: I see that bt are increasing their prices. do you think they are out and out fraudsters?

the quarterly line rental is going up £1-50p a quarter. the charges for calls by 10%. If you pay quarterly they charge you £4-50 extra. If by some mistake like being on holiday when the bill arrives and you dont pay within 10 days well thats another £7-50p on top. They have been advertising how cheap it is with bt over the last 3 months and have probably reeled in an extra 300,000 customers over the that period knowing full well what they were going to do. would you sooner trust a snake in the grass than bt.guy on the other hand they put in 1 telegraph pole in an estate took 20 lines from it charge each customer £120 a year line rental for last 50 years thats £120,000 and it probably cost them £50 to erect. more

Resolved Question: do you think people are deliberately put into power by the worlds super rich?

take tony blair,( someone please). he said in 1989 I intend to stop this abuse by loansharks of ripping off the people with huge interest rates. 2010 we have them advertising loans on telly now at 250% per year and thats the cheap ones. he said we will abolish the house of lords. they are still there including non doms and still theiving off the populace with their expenses. he said he had no intention of sending british soldiers to war unless its to defend our country. how many have died in iraq and afghanistan. he said it was terrible the way the tories were stealing off pensioners by fixing their pensions to the consumer price index. it was still the same after his 12 years in office. he said in the 1990's that the gap between rich and poor was increasing under the tories and if he got into power he would redress that balance. It got bigger while he was p.m. he said countless other things before he got into office every one turned out to be lies just to get into power. like the above examples. the one thing he did not say was that he would be £300 million better off at the end of it, with another £200million to come. was he induced by the rich to join the labour party, so he could keep the status quo for them. and should we only vote in future for labour party candidates brought up in a working class background. more

Resolved Question: River Island's rabbit and panda hat?

Hi there, i saw these hats in River Island (http://i25.tinypic(dot)com/34yqq8w.jpg) but they're a bit expensive at £13, so I wanted to find them cheaper online somehow.. but when I search for them, I find nothing. I can only find Katy Perry's panda hat that she wore last year, which is different to the one in the picture. Also, these hats are not on the website.. are these now and not being advertised yet? Resolved Question: Where can I get head shots done in Edinburgh?

I recently have been given the opportunity to do some advertising work through my sisters acting agent. He told me I needed to get some head shots done first though. As he lives in London he could not recommend anywhere to go in Edinburgh but simply said not to go too expensive or too cheap... I am clueless as to what is expensive and what is cheap and where to go. Can anyone recommend a place or help? more

Resolved Question: What's the truth about subliminal videos?

I'm aware of positive experiences resulting from making changes to how one feels at a subconscious level. It looked like subliminal videos could be great for people - just sit back and watch and enjoy the benefits. I thought I'd investigate what's offered. I'm pretty disgusted at the results, which include: * Very dodgy claims, e.g. they can make anyone wealthy * The most obvious cheap sales tricks, like buy now to save x% - today only! * Misleading offers, like claim your absolutely free video (only if you buy a bunch of other stuff) * Try the free sample - none of which work (unrecognised file formats) * Watch this online short video (that doesn't work) * Harvesting email addresses to hit you with loads of their adverts * Excessive sales talk like dodgy car salesmen trying too hard * Countless efforts to grab your money My experience is that honest suppliers of honest products don't use all these tricks - they simply advertise, provide the means to order and pay, and supply. I looked for a long while and found nothing that seemed trustworthy. Anyone out there had experience with these videos? Are there any genuine, trustworthy providers of these videos or what?God is a man-made delusion to comfort and control in equal measure, and has nothing to do with the question! more

Voting Question: Where do I advertise a puppy for re-homing?

So, I have a puppy...He's 8 weeks old, Jack Russell. I've had him since he was 2 weeks...There were complications at birth, and so I fostered him. He was the only surviving puppy (mother died too) and the owner found it hard to look after a puppy who'd survived when her dog had died (let it be known a vet was with the mother as she delivered the pups) and so I offered to foster, raise, and re-home... Bad idea! I've bonded so much with the pup, though I've always known I couldn't keep him...I've asked his breeder if she'd like him, but she's still upset over the loss of her dog, and says he'd be better off with somebody who'd be more willing to spend time with him, etc. My landlord says no pets, and has always said this, though he's allowed my 15 year old cat, so I'm not complaining at all. Anyway, I love this puppy to bits. I'd hate for him to go to a bad home... Wondering where to advertise. Because he's not with the kennel club, though he's pure bred, I can't advertise him there (?), and I don't want to put him on petfinder or craigslist. I've heard these are most likely to be bought for the wrong reasons as they're cheaper, but I really have no idea as I've never advertised a pet before. So far I've put a notice up in my veterinary office, but no-where else as I'm afraid he'll be bought by the 'wrong sort of owner', which is pretty stupid considering he's got to be re homed. I'll probably end up scaring away people who are interested in him, but I want to advertise somewhere there are less likely to be people who want him for the wrong reasons. He's a puppy with a big personality, and will soon be a dog with Just as much personality. I wouldn't want him to be re-homed in the future because he couldn't care cared for... I know this is an incredibly silly question, but, where SHOULD I advertise him? more

Resolved Question: Looking for the Best UK web hosting?

Hi everyone. I'm looking for a good web hosting service preferably that is paid monthly and is at a very good price, Im trying to have a website for my small business which is service based so it doesn't need to be for eccommerce purposes more a case of a small site to advertise my services, no bigger than 10 pages in size. I keep coming to places to fasthost, 1&1, and justhost etc. but although they offer a lot of "special offers" they all seem to be misleading in that you either have to sign up to them for 24mths, but pay in full (although it usually states "just £4.99 per month") I realise that it may average out at that price per month but I cannot afford a large lump sum for hosting. So I'm either after a good host at a cheap monthly rate, or a good host which is an annual rate but doesnt need me to pay for 3yrs in advance. Any help will be appreciated. Many thanks more

Voting Question: Seen UK top 5 broadband rip-offs? & how best to deal with 'em? What do you think is the best deal? How 2 beat?

I put this in Politics as Govt promise to roll out superfast broadband Is there a corrupt angle? UK's top broadband rip-offs, together with a few ideas on how you can combat them. 1) Super-fast broadband You might think super-fast broadband sounds amazing. Lightning-fast deals via next-generation fibre technology allow you to surf the net at more than 5 times the usual speed (50Mb). Unfortunately, however, super-fast broadband generally comes with a much higher price tag than packages with standard connection speeds. And I think, at £40 a month, providers are ripping us off - especially when you take into account a 8Mb package with a 10GB usage limit can cost less than £6 a month. The fact is, unless you need faster speeds for things like watching internet TV or downloading HD movies regularly, these packages probably have far greater capability than you really need. If you're not a heavy user, paying the higher monthly cost is a waste of money, frankly. 2) Restrictions on download limits Many broadband providers boast of unlimited download limits, only to accompany these bold statements with a little asterisk which, on closer inspection directs you to a fair use policy that restricts the amount you can actually download. Fair use policies are often a get out of jail free card for providers which advertise unlimited download limits, only to impose penalties or other restrictions if you exceed a certain threshold. And, to make things even more complicated, finding out about your own download habits can sometimes feel like trying to break into Fort Knox. For example, when I called my own provider to ask them about my usage, I was only told that I ‘need not worry'. This ambiguous phrasing may make little difference in my case, but in some circumstances you'll only realise you've exceeded your fair usage limit when you get a warning from your provider – or worse, when a hefty bill lands on your doormat. If you want to gauge your surfing habits, this data usage calculator from Virgin is a nifty tool which will give you an idea of your own monthly usage, which you can then use to get the best plan for you. Alternatively, providers Be and O2 offer super-fast broadband with truly unlimited download limits. 3) Broadband without a landline. If you move into a property without a BT landline in place, it will cost you £124.99 to connect yourself to the outside world, plus £10.50 a month in line rental, unless you commit to an 18-month contract. If you don't fancy forking out all this just to get connected, one alternative is Virgin media which, providing you live in a cabled area, will connect you without the need for a BT line (£30 connection fee applies). In addition, some providers such as Tiscali make use of local loop unbundling (LLU) to bypass BT and offer inclusive line rental. LLU enables ‘local loops' (or put simply, the cable through which you receive your broadband) to be freed up so other providers can design their own broadband packages to provide alternative, and often cheaper services. The third way you can get connected to the internet without the need for a BT landline is via a dongle . Dongles provide a convenient way of getting online, though from experience provide much slower download speeds than conventional broadband. Check out my latest article on dongles . 4) Tag on the line This is one of the sneakiest ways broadband providers can stop you from switching easily. They put what's known as a 'tag' on your line, which is difficult to remove. When you run into trouble, they often point the finger at your landline provider, who then points the finger back at the broadband provider, and so on. What many people don't realise is that you have to talk to the provider you want to switch to and ask them to remove it. Luckily, Broadband Choices offers a handy list of numbers on its website to contact with regards to having a tag on your line. 5) Long contract terms Last but not least, contract lengths for broadband, and indeed your mobile phone are slowly creeping up, and these days you'll often have to sign an 18 and sometimes a 24 month contract in order to secure the best deals. However, there is light at the end of the broadband tunnel, and if you don't want to be tied into a lengthy contract, you could always opt for a provider which doesn't impose one. For example, you can now get one-month only contracts from providers like Plusnet and Zen, which enable you to switch at any time. Obviously, your broadband service is unlikely to be 100% perfect, 100% of the time, but hopefully these small tips will help you on your way to a smoother surfing experience. Happy surfing!DJ I can't fib to ya, dude: it was simply the feature on Yahoo homepage as I came online earlier today As a conscientious ex-UK *1 sales rep, here is a simple google just done now:- http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=best+uk+broadband+deals&btnG=Google+Search&aq=0&aqi=g1&aql=&oq=best+uk+broadband+deal&gs_rfai=&fp=1df4639b9e375fe6 OG I nearly chose you now as best reply But instinct says that, as I'm very rarely in till much later on Sunday eves, I'd best link this Q to a few relevant others, asa test of Y/A volume of activity @ this time Anyone wanna do a Y/A search @:- Would it improve summer interest in Y/A to show number of views @ each question? Resolved Question: As the Murdoch media couldn't fool enough people into Conservative, are they now going to force us?

I suppose the Conservative big business donors, tax dodgers who paid for the advertising and the Murdoch media are pretty peed off that they didn't fool enough people into voting Conservative. It doesn't mean we have to be forced into giving them total power when Lib Dem policies have more in common with Labour and nothing in Common with Conservative. The Lib Dems are supposed to be for a fair society. I don't see how that has anything in common with the Conservative values of taking away old people's eye tests, forcing teachers and nurses to go on strike from underfunding, raised VAT, being the first party to bring in tax onto household bills, underfunding public services so they're the worst in Europe as they did before. Telling people they can't have a job for life, despite giving their Eton and Bullingdon school friends Tory safe seats and jobs in the cabinet. Supporting hereditary peers. Having lots of immigrants to use as cheap labour when they take away the minimum wage. Conservative policies have nothing in common with a fair society.Murdoch is a media prostitute. Resolved Question: Labrador Retriever Information? Please?

Okay, IF I get a Labrador Retriever, it will be the first dog I've EVER owned. So go easy on me ;D ;D Basically, I was looking on this site, which is a site for breeders to advertise their puppies or dogs on, and I came across a few VERY VERY cheap labs, it seems like the saying 'if it seems to good to be true .. It probably is" .. They've come out at like £225 (English pounds) and the suspicious thing is, they don't have any information about them, and as a first time buyer I don't have know exactly what I'm doing. So would you look at this advert and tell me if it seems legit and looks like a good breeder. http://www.pets4homes.co.uk/pets4homes/home.nsf/LookupUNID/D55B18317DAF373E80257707003309B8 550 British pounds = 838.2 U.S. dollars Thanks a lot. Resolved Question: Why is it supermarkets and industries in general try and dupe the public with 'special offers/sales'?

For example, you are walking through the aisles in the supermarket and a special offer notice catches your eye. You thing ooh nice, then when you read it, they have knocked off perhaps only 5p off the price. A 'great' saving, I think not. We get sent emails from all over with titles of half price or substantial savings. You follow the link, all excited thinking you could get some bargains. Maybe six items you don't want even if they were giving them away, or still way overpriced. A sale should mean a sale, by that say a game which costs forty quid originally is now fifteen pound or less, or other games/dvds going cheap are a bargain. A film I could buy for £5.00 after a short while (originally say £15) is a sale, not reduced by a spectular reduction down to £13. I mean, what a bargain. £2.00 off something which will be a lot cheaper later on, or I could buy probably for £7.99 elsewhere in the other shop. I'm babbling I know, basically advertising doesn't work via emails/sale signs as most of the time its a trick just to make you look. You feel cheated and wronged and those emails are mostly deleted before even being read as you know 'special offer' and sale doesn't hold any weight...And that sale sign in the window is a lie most of the time, the shop isn't really closing down and the only sale items is that small rack in the corner, everything else is top dollar still. What do you think? more

Resolved Question: Is this a good way to set up my own photography business realistically?

Right well here is my situation.. I'm 17, in my first year of sixth form studying English Language, Sociology and Fine Art. I'm expected to get B's at the end of the year. As much as i like school and the subjects i do, there isn't anything i want to do at University. My hobby is photography, i just have a normal digital camera. No knowledge of light, lenses, composition or anything like that. But i still want to be a photographer, as in Weddings, family photos, model portfolios, landscapes e.t.c. I've seen photography courses at various University's, but non of them are what i want. So, here is my proposal, and i want you guys to tell me if its realistic. 1.For my 18th Birthday (in September) my parents are willing to buy me a professional camera, then get some practise with that. 2. Finish my A Levels in July 2011, and have good grades to fall back on. 3. During that summer, get a job (as in a shop assistant or something) to get money. At the same time go to a photography course to gain knowledge and skills. 4. After the course start doing one off jobs for people (Cheap but enough to make a bit of profit), and advertise myself in shop windows/the internet/newspaper e.t.c. 5. Hopefully my business will grow and grow into something professional. Is this realistic/a good idea? I don't mind the truth :) more

Resolved Question: Orange iPhone 3GS Pay as you Go -Dolphin- constantly draining my credit?

Right, now this is REALLY beginning to annoy me. I bought an iphone a couple of days ago, was great, then I discovered something not so great. Okay, so my phone is idle when all of a sudden I get a text from Orange saying that my credit has gone below £1, I thought this to be very strange since it was £3 earlier and I had only sent two texts that day. That made me keep an eye on it and to my horror I discovered that I was losing around 3p every 10-20 minutes when the iPhone was just idle on the menu. Now, I have wifi and I know for a fact that my iPhone is connected to this as it shows in the settings and has the wifi icon, so that shouldn't be costing me anything. I did some searching on the internet to discover that some applications use 3G, so I turned off my 3G in the settings and this still didn't help. Lastly, I changed my talk plan with Orange from Camel to Dolphin in the hope that the "Free Internet access" advertised on this talk plan would solve my mysterious credit draining issue. I was on Camel before because I often text abroad and it was cheaper on that plan. Now after I changed, I did a little browsing and then came and checked it again after 20 minutes to find out my credit had gone down yet again for no reason? So my question is, I have wifi access, I have atlleast 50MB a month free 3G access and ive not even used 1MB yet but I am still getting credit deducted from me when I am not even doing anything with my iPhone? I have tried turning off service locations and push notifications however this just seems to slow down the problem and not fix it, also why would they be charging me when I allegedly have free wifi and internet access via 3g? I am really frustrated as my iPhone has basically robbed £3 off me in one day due to this trickling money deduction, surprised to not find much help on google, really hope someone can help me here, would be VERY much appreciated before it steals any more money from me. Thanks, more

Resolved Question: Is this a good deal for buying a car? please help?

Im looking at buying a car from spain, im in the uk i saw the car advertised at a cheap price and contacted the seller, they have said the deal is i pay said amount into yahoo safe money transfer where funds are held till i receive the car and test it for upto 15 days before i let yahoo give the funds to the seller, if im not happy i can just send it back and it wont cost me a penny. All sounds good yeah? they sent me a link to the yahoo service and it explains how it all works, but when i come to the yahoo home page or type anything into google about it nothing comes up which is making me think is this a scam. here is the page link they sent me www.safety-finances-yahoo.co.uk the page works fine and explains everything, the problem is i cant find it through google or yahoo, so my question is has anyone heard of this service or am i being taken for a ride, hope someone can help, thanks leeI wouldnt normally buy the car from spain but its half price 8000 to 4000 and would have been a good deal, thanks to the first answer with the links, i now know for sure that the deal is bull shit more

Resolved Question: Selling Puppies.........HELP!!!?

Hi, I currently have puppies for sale, and I them advertised at the standard price for the breed...... This is our third litter of pups in 3yrs,and we have never had any problem selling pups before..... However everybody who's called seems to be shocked at the price, apparantly there's somebody else selling the same kind for £200 less than our ones......our pups have full pedigrees, vet checked, had 1st vacinations and have been wormed........they're chocolate labradors and are 9wks old..... What should I do? Should I lower the price? The puppies really need to be homed, they're at an age where they need families of their own.......but I don't want to sell them off cheap, because I don't want them to end up with owners who are buying them just because of the price..... I feel that if somebody really wants a dog they will be willing to pay the value of the dog......it will after all be a member of their family hopefully for the rest of it's life..... What should I do?? Lower the price or wait???????? more

Resolved Question: What's the best UPGRADE iPhone 3GS deal anyone has got with Orange?

I've been with Orange a few years now, currently on a £25 per month dolphin plan, and now want to upgrade to an iPhone on an 18 month contract. I'm happy to pay £35 a month (in fact I expect to). What's the best deal anyone has got when upgrading to a 16gb iPhone 3GS? They don't advertise typical upgrade offers on the website, but they must be able to give you something extra, whether it's the phone for cheaper or more texts? Otherwise you're just taking out a new contract with absolutely zilch reward for loyalty... which wouldn't surprise me but would suck. P.S. Anyone posts a "don't get an iPhone, they're crap/get a Nokia (whatever)" comment and I'll come round and kick your dog...! more

Resolved Question: Diesel cars more reliable than petrol?

Are diesel cars more reliable and cheaper to maintain than petrol? I'm thinking of cars like Mondeo, Vectra, Passat, that sort of size, year around 1997-2001. I know the fuel consumption is better, but I keep seeing diesels advertised with diesel pumps gone! Does anybody really know from experience please? Thank you. more

Resolved Question: I'm thinking of joining napster?
