Please examine the enclosed T-shirt sample. If you compare T-shirts, you might expect a cheaper shirt to be dis-similar; but as you can see, this shirt is quiet presentable. What’s more, it advertises our name just as well as the more expensive silk-screened T-shirts. If the decision were up to Matthew or I, we would be happy to wear the cheaper shirt. With increasing travel costs and de-creasing trade show budgets, us in marketing must look carefully at how we spent the companies limited funds for exhibitions. Over the last several years,’ we have de-creased the number of shows in which we participate, we have also taken fewer booth staffers then in the passed. This is a significant place to reduce expenses. For our next major trade show, please authorize the purchase of 2,000 T-shirts. Which can save us $22,000 in exhibition costs. Open Question: Cheap motels near Anaheim/Orange area?

I'm going to be staying at least from April 22nd to April 26th, possibly longer, although there is a vague possibility of checking out a day or two early if I am offered a place to stay by a relative. I DO NOT CARE if there is a layer of filth on the floor, I'm cuddling rats, and playing whack-a-mole with cockroaches. I do not care if the staff is rude. I do not care if I have to do an Olympic-worthy run through a bevy of hookers and drug dealers to get to my room. I want a bathroom (preferably with a tub), electricity, and a bed. Don't even need a tv, though I'd imagine its pretty standard. I've had pretty dark times in my past, so rest assured that such an environment wouldn't ruin my vacation at all; I'm trying to avoid sleeping in my car, because I think that would. In the past, when I've gone places, I've done internet research on motels and hotels, and always found something cheaper advertised on a sign when I got there . . . I remember once stopping in Illinois and a front desk staff member assuring me I'd find nothing cheaper than his $55 a night. At the next interstate exit, I found one for $24. In my experience the cheapest rooms are unknown motels that don't show up online, so I'm sort of interested in those. It's just me staying and I am a smoker so a smoking room is ok, but I don't smoke inside at home so a nonsmoking room is fine as well. No pets. No need for amenities. Anything within about 15 miles is good; further is also ok if its cheap enough to make up for gas. I plan to go to Disneyland or other touristy places, but the primary function of the trip is meeting long-lost family. I've found a room that is listed as $35 for weekdays and $40 for the weekends; after taxes the four-night stay comes to about $168. I know that's not bad, but I've already taken too many "little luxuries" regarding this trip. I didn't do comparative rates on my rental car at all, so I'm trying to trim the fat. Thanks. more

Resolved Question: What scams, internet or other, have you fallen for?

When I was 19 I got my first credit card with credit for a whole $300. I was contacted by Ramada Plaza resorts and folded like a cheap chair for a "free" vacation. I almost included 3 of my best friends. After the fact, I checked it out and although it was legitimate, it was not free. Meals, airfare to Florida, taxes turned out to be $2000+ per person. Luckily they had only charged my card for the $300 but were demanding the balance. I fought it and won. I contacted 'Phone Busters' who advised me it was legitimate but what it really cost, and that I could probably book a vacation of my choice for much, much less. The ones I love are the companies who advertise diet supplements, make-up, etc. for a free one-month trial...all you pay is the shipping. Then the next month your credit card is billed for $79.95 and good luck getting a human on the line to cancel! How about you? (and I just about bought the Slap Chop...good thing I researched that one first!) more

I've recently been using Craigslist to post a couple dozen articles for sale and I've been receiving generic emails from yahoo users, here are a couple: Hello is this still for sale? The subject is always in the format: Re: *craigslist item name and price* and the sender is always a yahoo user starting with typicall 8-10 letters followed by at least 3 numbers, some examples (all end with @yahoo.com): sylviavwy179 tynishaova847 pennikny001 raymondriu287 nereidagzf682 shawnnasmq070 Those Yahoo mail accounts have been setup with the Yahoo! Auto Response and respond with messages advertising fake money making schemes, below are a couple examples: "Don't sell this! I used to sell stuff on CL just like you were doing to pay my bills. I am from Louisville KY & moved to Cincinnati OH with my husband's job about a year ago. I do a lot of photography and with everyone we knew in Louisville and word of mouth I was starting to get a lot of business. With the move I know no one and I would really like to get things going again with my home studio. I have tried promoting through mom websites and putting business cards places but not having much luck. Does anyone have any ideas on how to advertise without spending a ton of money?? more

Open Question: Cheap horse riding holiday in Europe for 3- 5 days?

My friend and I are experienced horse riders. We would like to book a short horse riding holiday somewhere in Europe in May 2010. Not fussy about where but would like it be as cheap as possible, ideally less than £200 for 3 or 4 nights including the riding. We would obviously need accomodation and would like to do 1- 5 hrs of riding per day. Has anyone any recommendations? I have looked at a number of sites such as inthesaddle, unicorntrails, equninetourism etc and all their holidays seem very expensive and are for 7 days. Im trying to find something thats maybe off the beaten track or small or family run that maybe wouldnt advertise on google or on the tourism websites. Thanks very much more

I can't buy a new gun right now. I have a real tight budget. I have a small child to deal with from my former marriage, back when I still thought I might be bisexual, and I am trying to establish a college fund. So this would be in the future. I will need to save my nickels and dimes. I am a teacher. Because I am new, my pay is nothing. As I build time up, and because I have a Master's Degree, my pay will go up substantially, and I will be able to buy more luxury items. My problem is I like to hunt (on the cheap) but the gun I inherited is a .243. That means even if I win the California Lottery for Tule Elk, or if I find a wild boar, I can't shoot it. I need to have at least a .30-06 to hunt Elk or any large animal. My problem is that I am really small and skinny, and can't handle recoil too well. I need a gun that will absorb most of the recoil. Benelli advertises that their R-1 rifle is excellent at absorbing recoil. Well, I don't know whether an automatic really absorbs most of the recoil. I was in the Military (MOS 57E) and fired the M-16, but that was basically a souped up .22 and it didn't have any recoil to speak of anyway. The Benelli would have an advantage over other automatics, because as I understand it, you can buy interchangable barrels. Normally, I don't care for automatics/assault type rifles, but this only has five shots, and you can get it with wood furniture. So I am asking anyone who has actually fired the Benelli R-1, are their claims accurate? Open Question: can you help me improve our office telephone system.?

Hi, my boss asked me to to figure out a way to cut down drastically on our telephone expenses. Although I don't handle telephone systems per say, I'm a computer IT guy and figure I can handle this. We currently have a 30 year old dinosaur phone system supported by Avaia and it's routing four phone lines from ATT..then a fifth dedicated fax line which goes to a computer with fax software. Total 5 telephones, it's a small office. My goal is to cut down the telephone lines to 2 or 3 as business is very slow (we only advertise one number too). I'm hoping to get rid of the whole telephone system (which looks like a big switchboard and currently takes up a large closet) and get rid of the avaya bill too..phones can be bought on ebay for cheap when they break...we're only paying for Avaya to keep the dinosaur alive, and they don't want to do it. Basically the only features we need in office are the ability to put calls on hold and the boss likes his speed dialing...intercom would be nice. Any suggestions..what would you do? Resolved Question: What is the difference between Pure Moroccan Argan Oil and Emu Oil?

I have Pure Moroccan Argan Oil and I love it. It's organic cruelty free and vegan. Everything a girl needs. It great as a facial moisturizer and treats split ends. My husband recently purchased Emu oil and it has about the same benefits and even more. But it's cheaper and comes from an animal. Which is better? Which is perferred? If Emu Oil is so beneficial then why isn't it highly advertised like Argan Oil? Why isn't used by the majority of people? Am I being cheated and should change to Emu Oil or is Argan oil something more special? more

Resolved Question: Why in the world are all these "online degree programs" so very very expensive?

I have checked into the pricing of most every advertised "get you degree online here" programs that are advertised on tv and on webpages...WTF???? What is wrong with these people? There prices per credit hour are outrageous and highly unjustified and downright greedy and hec. WTF is the deal? They are in fact...so very greedy and ill priced.that most of them after spending 30 minutes navigating all over their site..you still will not have found ANY info on their cost for tuition...which makes it seem like it is a F***ing SECRET or somthing!!! i have had to write to most of them or fill out their little crap and let them bombard me with freakin' phone calls...just to find out or get any idea at all of their cost...that is how embearassed these people are of their greed...the go out of their way to absolutley avoid the issue on their FAQ pages and all the rest of their website areas.... Why is it so stupidly expensive at the "Online Only" colleges...you all know the names of them. University of Phoe***, Wald** University., etc... How in the world do they justify this staggering sticker shock of tuition fees when they should automatically be so much cheaper because they have no brick and mortar campus to maintain..which should in my mind greatly affect cost... My God man! I could goto HARVARD for the same money....these people.. WTF???? Please adivse. Why are they so expensive...??? Other than greed...and why all of them? How do THEY justify this greed/redicuous absurd tuition and fees...when everything is online. I feel sorry for the folks that do not realize their local communty college. or most any college anywhere nowadays offers most of their classes online, hence the same degree mostly from home....done online...or a substanial portion of it...but also with the benifit of a b&m place to goto when you have a problem or need help...a much better value of course by any way you look at it... all for much much cheaper. Without all the burden of massive student loans that these schools I am complaining about are so quick to push you into...they act like it's free money..you know you cannot even claim bankrupcy for student loans...you are stuck with them babies for life man.. ...would you want marijuana to be worth $100.00/oz, or $5.00/oz? The inability of certain redneck hicks on here to fully reason through a topic (without blatant generalizations) disturbs me, but I'll try not to let that interfere with the more important issue. Now, because my last question was cut off horribly short, here is my proposal: 1. Legalize marijuana. 2. Restrict it, exactly as we do alcohol. 3. Tax it. The "you can't tax marijuana" theory is a fallacy. I can grow tobacco and distill booze, but I do neither of these things, nor do many other people. I would simply buy it and pay the tax as a convenience charge. 4. Driving, advertising, and manufacturing of marijuana remains a crime. Possession does not, assuming you are of legal age and not operating a motor vehicle. Open container = sack or pipe in the car. It's really not that big of a leap, folks. 5. Tax the crap out of it. Think about it... a pack of 10 joints, sold for $20.00, is still cheaper than the price at which cartels are moving it, and would last a casual smoker several weeks. $10.00 of that can go to taxes. 6. Of that $20.00, $10.00 is taxes, $5.00 is for the farmer, $5.00 is for the roller. 7. If you make it a legal requirement that only HAND-ROLLED marijuana may be sold in stores, you are employing thousands of people in the lower-income demographic. Now, disregarding the amount of money that we spend to incarcerate, feed, clothe, house, and guard all those "hardened pot-smoking criminals", consider the money generated FOR the economy, for the government, and for society. There are a dozen reasons why this will not work, if you completely ignore the idea of addressing the problems point by point. There is *every* reason why it will work, for the good of humanity, if you allow it to. more

Voting Question: Orange iPhone 3GS Pay as you Go -Dolphin- constantly draining my credit?

Right, now this is REALLY beginning to annoy me. I bought an iphone a couple of days ago, was great, then I discovered something not so great. Okay, so my phone is idle when all of a sudden I get a text from Orange saying that my credit has gone below £1, I thought this to be very strange since it was £3 earlier and I had only sent two texts that day. That made me keep an eye on it and to my horror I discovered that I was losing around 3p every 10-20 minutes when the iPhone was just idle on the menu. Now, I have wifi and I know for a fact that my iPhone is connected to this as it shows in the settings and has the wifi icon, so that shouldn't be costing me anything. I did some searching on the internet to discover that some applications use 3G, so I turned off my 3G in the settings and this still didn't help. Lastly, I changed my talk plan with Orange from Camel to Dolphin in the hope that the "Free Internet access" advertised on this talk plan would solve my mysterious credit draining issue. I was on Camel before because I often text abroad and it was cheaper on that plan. Now after I changed, I did a little browsing and then came and checked it again after 20 minutes to find out my credit had gone down yet again for no reason? So my question is, I have wifi access, I have atlleast 50MB a month free 3G access and ive not even used 1MB yet but I am still getting credit deducted from me when I am not even doing anything with my iPhone? I have tried turning off service locations and push notifications however this just seems to slow down the problem and not fix it, also why would they be charging me when I allegedly have free wifi and internet access via 3g? I am really frustrated as my iPhone has basically robbed £3 off me in one day due to this trickling money deduction, surprised to not find much help on google, really hope someone can help me here, would be VERY much appreciated before it steals any more money from me. I found alot of sites advertising posters but not very many that i can buy, I'm looking for a something close to 20"x30" of his work called 'Kissing' I know those probably aren't the dimensions of the actual work but something about that size is fine, I give best answer to the first person that sends me a working link of a place that have a clear and visible 'add to cart' button or something of the sort, because the places i've found say their a store but i cant figure out how to actually buy it after looking at the whole page. Hi, everyone! I've been posting quite a few questions lately in different categories, and here is another one! I have been certified as a wedding consultant, since October of 2009. I practice in Michigan, where it is not necessary to be certified, but I did that for myself. I want to start advertising to brides in Michigan without spending a ton of money up front. My fiance and I are planning our own wedding, plus he's the only one working since we are still in school. I don't know if I should invest in business cards to leave with some bridal shops, I can do that for about $20. Does anyone know of any bridal forums I could post to? Does anyone have any other ideas that are somewhat cheap but totally legal. I'm not against spending money, I know that it takes money to have money, I'm just looking for some other creative ideas to help me get things going. Resolved Question: Would this be a good green cheek cage?

I am getting a green cheek in a few weeks. Most websites recommend a cage that is at least 18"x18". I am pretty strapped on cash right now, so I am looking for a nice starter cage to last me until I can afford to buy a nicer, larger cage. I found this cage at PetCo. It's advertised for finches, but at 18"x30", it is larger than pretty much all of the "cockatiel" cages I've found so far, and a lot cheaper. Resolved Question: My ECDL course is in Office 2003. Is this OK or not?

I've just had my first ECDL lesson and was alarmed and disappointed to find that it was being taught using Office 2003, when all the other shorter computer classes I've done use 2007. I asked the teacher [with whom I completed a shorter course at the same Adult Education venue] why we're using 2003 and she didn't see it as a problem. I'm 45, but new to computers and all that I've learned so far is on 2007, so this makes me feel like an absolute beginner again. I'm worried that after 108 hours of tuition, which wasn't cheap, I'll be qualified to use software that isn't used in the workplace. Nowhere in the advertising for this course did it mention this. My question is, am I wasting my time? Is 2003 the usual software used in office administration in the real world? more

My husband owns a small transportation business (very similar to what taxis do), and we are always looking for great ways to cheaply or freely advertise. I do his business cards, flyers, and other items. But it seems that nothing beats a few good listings. Phone books, however, are so awfully expensive. If I rent a 2 bedroom home for $600 per month for my daughter and myself, can the landlord charge more rent if my fiance moves in? I'm currently looking for a new place to rent, and this is what this landlord wants to do. $600 for me and my daughter, $750 if my fiance moves in with us. No reason given other than that she should be able to get more rent if there are additional people in the home. I'm not a welfare mom, don't use drugs, don't smoke, pay my bills on time, and have a very good job...and my fiance works full-time as well. I have good references, and have never had any problems renting before. Is this illegal? And the house isn't worth $750 per month....she states that's what her "friends" tell her she should rent it for. I have NOT signed a lease with her, and was up front when she asked how many people would be living there. She has advertised the property for $600. When she asked how many people, and I told her 3, all of a sudden the rent would be $750. Again, this is a place is was looking at, not one in which I currently live. And it's so cheap because it's a very small town with no industry.I don't plan on renting from her, I was just curious as to what to do....do I report her to the housing authority? I find that I go to other stores more often when I know that Wal-Mart is cheaper. After watching the news today, I think I know why. They are eliminating other brands and going with their own store brand. The new report said they are going with their store brand and only one other retail brand in many areas of the store... with the retail brand not being the one most popular but the one that funnels most money into Wal-Mart advertising. ---> Case in point... I switched to a new stable a couple weeks ago (I haven't ridden in a little over 3 months because I fell off and got a concussion. I should be cleared to ride again a week from tomorrow (Feb.22). This is what I have so far: Babysitting. So.... My family is in a bit of a rough spot with money. My mom said the best we can do for my lessons is 3 a month ($45/45min lesson). I have a top-notch trainer who trained with Olympians, so she's worth it. I'm being responsible about this and mature about it.
