Open Question: NEW Counter Strike: Source won't let me import sprays.?

The other day Steam turned the CSS Beta into CSS. I don't know what to call it. Lol. But it kept my sprays from the old CS: Source and it won't let me import new sprays into the new CSS. It keeps saying the file is corrupt. It said something else the other day, but I can't remember what. I thought it might be because the file was too big. Like, I made a "banner" type thing for my phone, so I just tried importing that for my spray and my phone screen is 320x240 and the default spray size is 256x256. But today I resized it to 256x100 or something. So it shouldn't be too big. I don't know. It won't let me import ANY spray. Anyone have an ideas? more

Voting Question: How do I make Photoshop run faster when working with LARGE files?

I often have to work with large files (e.g. 5 ft x 5 ft, 300 dpi) on Adobe Photoshop CS4 for things like banners & such, but it's always SO slow & frustrating! I always have to wait for filters/transforming to load for a few minutes. I'm thinking about resorting to working with much smaller canvas sizes and resizing them later on... but I read that that's a really bad option. Any tips/advice on how to work with large files on Photoshop without it running so slowly? Thank you in advance! more

Resolved Question: If Arizona had 20,000 protesting the immigration law and only 7,00 supporting it over the weekend?

Does that tell us that polls showing that the majority of people support it are BOGUS? Has Obama gotten the message yet, that Americans want Immigration Reform and not controversial laws like Arizona's SB1070? http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/05/29/ap/national/main6530030.shtml Thousands March To Protest Ariz. Immigration Law (AP) TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Supporters and opponents of Arizona's tough new crackdown on illegal immigration held separate rallies in Phoenix, drawing thousands of people from around the country. Marchers carrying signs, banners and flags from the United States and Mexico filled a 5 mile stretch of central Phoenix, demanding that the federal government refuse to cooperate with Arizona authorities trying to enforce the law. The size of the crowd appeared to be at least 20,000 protesters, some bused in from around the country, braved 94-degree heat. Organizers had said they expected the demonstration to bring as many as 50,000 people. In San Francisco, about 500 people gathered Saturday night outside AT&T Park, where the Giants were playing the Arizona Diamondbacks. Leaders of the rally said it was organized to help push for a boycott against Arizona. About 7,000 supporters of Arizona's law gathered Saturday evening at a baseball stadium in suburban Tempe, encouraging like-minded Americans to "buycott" Arizona by planning vacations in the state. more

Resolved Question: Why are Mexicans protesting AZ law with Mexican flags demanding legalization for undocumented Mexican workers?

PHOENIX — Thousands of people from around the country marched to the Arizona state Capitol on Saturday to protest the state's tough new crackdown on illegal immigration. Marchers carrying signs, banners and flags from the United States and Mexico filled a five-mile stretch of central Phoenix. Dozens of police officers lined the route, and helicopters hovered overhead. Police declined to estimate the size of the crowd, but it appeared at least 10,000 to 20,000 protesters braved temperatures that were forecast to reach 95 degrees by mid-afternoon. Organizers had said they expected the demonstration to bring as many as 50,000 people. Opponents of the law suspended their boycott against Arizona and bused in protesters from around the country. Some used umbrellas or cardboard signs to protect their faces from the sun. Volunteers handed out water bottles from the beds of pickup trucks, and organizers set up three water stations along the route. About 20 people were treated for heat or fatigue-related symptoms, and seven of them were taken to a hospital, said Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Tommy Thompson. There were no arrests or other incidents, he said. The law's opponents also gathered elsewhere. About 300 people rallied at the Texas Capitol in Austin, and another 300 people protested at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City demanding legalization for undocumented Mexican workers in the United States. "Many of us have relatives or friends in the U.S. and we must now stand up and speak out on their behalf," said Elvira Arellano, who gained international attention in 2007 when she was deported without her U.S. citizen son. In San Francisco, groups planned to protest at the Arizona Diamondbacks' game against the Giants Saturday night. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5huRjne6QzrwLdBqAiTD0OUErnQQwD9G0QGUO0 more

Resolved Question: Band Fundraiser - are these prices acceptable?

I am doing fundraising for a high school marching band. One of the things that I am doing is sending out letters and offering different levels that local business owners and community can sponsor the band. With each 'level' there is more offered with the biggest focus on the band advertising for the business. I set the levels with the mindset that the economy is not the greatest and hopefully each business will be able to contribute in some way. What I want to know is do the levels seem even and fair based on the amount of money for that level? Also, if you read over that and can think of something else that could be added to enhance the experience for the sponsor, pleaser let me know. Bronze Level (up to $24) -Sponsor recognition on band website, newsletters, booster meetings, and special events. Silver Level ($25-99) -Sponsor recognition on band website, newsletters, booster meetings, and special events. -Sponsor/Business name or message listed on the show shirt. Max 40 characters. Gold Level ($100-250) -Sponsor recognition on band website, newsletters, booster meetings, and special events. -Small logo placed on show shirt that entire band will wear each performance, and while traveling. Platinum Level ($250-499) -Sponsor recognition on band website, newsletters, booster meetings, and special events. - Medium logo placed on show shirt that entire band will wear each performance, and while traveling. Logo size is box measuring 4X4”. -Your logo placed on special banner that will be at visible at all band events. Size is 6x6” -Your logo Placed on back door of band truck for 2010 season. Resolved Question: I need help with HTML!?

I'm using Dreamweaver, and I'm having trouble with something. I tried putting a table, like a banner, across the top. But I changed the code I got from a website a bit, and now I can't type outside of the banner. <body bgcolor="Teal"> <table cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0" border="0" bgcolor="Maroon" id="shell" height="100" width="1250"> <tr height="200"><td colspan="2" bgcolor="Maroon"> <table title="Banner" id="banner" border="0"> <p><center><font color=white><font size=7>Sarah Dwyer<br /><font size=4>Digital Portfolio</p> </body> </table> This is pretty much the code I already have for the banner. Can you tell me how to fix it so I can type outside of the banner? Thanks!I wanna keep the text I already have inside the banner. more

Resolved Question: What is the best way to make a rotating banner on my website? (drupal 6)?

I'm tinkering with the layout of my (non-commercial) website, and I've tried to find the best way to do this, but I didn't have that much luck. Basically, I would like something like the banner on this site: http://www.jacobsingh.name/content/create-gorgeous-rotating-banners-0-nerdliness My website does use drupal, but we have v 6, and we're probably not going to upgrade anytime soon, and that module is for v 7. I've been trying to find out how to do this, and I found I can either download a comparable v 6 module, or create one from scratch with Javascript and jquery, and I don't know how to do that. It doesn't help that the many modules don't do everything I would want, or at least I can't tell that they do. (here's what I'm talking about: http://drupal.org/node/418616 there are too many to sort through, and many don't have the features I want) The requirements I have for this banner: Custom size The pictures/content move on an interval You are able to click on the picture/content and it will go to a webpage Buttons/tabs at the bottom to switch between So my question is: How can I do this? Is there some module or handy Javascript/jquery script that can do this (drupal v6)? Or is there another, simpler way? (Remember, I don't want to do anything server side, beside install a few modules if necessary, so a script would be preferable) Any advice would be great, and thanks in advance for the help.on second thought, custom size wouldn't be needed if the banner could conform to the size of the picture (I can make all the pictures I want the same size) and, I would prefer not to use flash, since I would like the banner to be visible on computers and devices without flash installed, like an iphone or school computer more

Resolved Question: Good luck/positive meaning tattoos?

I'm trying to get together some ideas for a good luck theme sleeve. The arm I'm getting it on I already have one tattoo. I've got a four leaf clover on my elbow. It doesn't have to me all good luck things, but just positive meaning things as well. I don't want a bunch of tattoos on my arm. I want to get about 5-6 decent sized ones and get a design to connect them all.... So far I've came up with a horse shoe on my inside forearm, a swallow on the outside of my lower arm, and shooting stars coming up from my wrist... Haven't really came up with anything for my upper arm. I would like to do a anchor with a banner on it. Maybe someone else has a good luck theme sleeve or have pictures I could look at? I'm not trying to copy anyone, just want to get ideas. more

Resolved Question: How do you feel about this "Israeli Violence" towards a peaceful convention?

Could this go along with the time we are living in now? 2 Tim 3:1-7...last days critical times hard to deal with...no natural affection, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong...having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power. This is what Jesus said recorded in John 7:7 The world has no reason to hate you, but it hates me, because I bear witness concerning it and its works are wicked. This could have taken place with any religion. You may wonder why it happened to Jehovah's Witnesses. John 13:16; A slave is not greater than his master. We know that Jesus was hated, should we also expect to be hated? Please read below and comment in a respectful way, it will be appreciated. Star and THANKS! Haredim protest 'missionary activity' in Holon Some 100 ultra-Orthodox men hurl stones at sports hall in central city during Jehovah's Witnesses conference, call police officers 'Nazis' Yoav Zitun Published: 05.01.10, 15:20 / Israel News Some 900 people on Saturday participated in a conference of the Jehovah's Witnesses denomination in the central city of Holon. The event was held under tight security at a municipal basketball hall in the Kiryat Sharet neighborhood. Watch the video filmed by one of the participants. At around 11 am, about 100 ultra-Orthodox men arrived in the area and began hurling stones and potatoes at the building, smashed its windows and tried to break in. They were stopped by a police force and security guards. The haredim continued to stand outside the building, chanting "Nazis" at the police officers and "Russians, go back to Russia" at the participants. One of the security guards told Ynet, "One of the haredim kicked me in the back, while the others chanted, 'Death to the Zionists.' We were lucky that the police were here from the very beginning. Smashed windows (Photo: Yoav Zitun) Another guard, who stopped the protestors from entering the hall, added that "at first there were only a few of them, and then masses suddenly arrived. They wouldn't stop cursing, and only stopped when their rabbi told them to." The police said no arrests had been made. The organizers of the event, which takes place once every few months, had prepared for the haredi protest in advance after spotting signs hung in the neighborhood on Friday, calling on the public to demonstrate against the conference. 'Jewish souls hunted for money' Under the banner, "Beware - missionaries in Holon!!!", the ads distributed around the neighborhood warned that "damned evil people are here to murder people and souls in Israel, like in the days of the inquisition, when Jews were slaughtered cold bloodedly. These are the corrupt missionaries who are hunting Jewish souls for money. Different elements calling themselves 'Jews' are helping these criminals carry out their scheme in public, for a bribe, and have allowed them to come to our city Holon and preach their impure and poisonous beliefs." Genadi Korobov, one of the organizers, was addressing the audience as the building was pelted with stones. "This is the third time in the past year that we visit Holon. We are already used to the haredi objection, but the amount and size of the stones we were hit with today was unusual," he said. "In the middle of my address, we suddenly heard the windows being smashed, and very large stones landed on the hall's parquet, right next to disabled people in wheelchairs, who were sitting in special places. Luckily, no one was hurt, but we were forced to move the disabled audience to the center of the hall. Korobov noted that despite the violent protest, the conference - which included lectures, lessons and prayers - continued as planned under the banner, "Time is running out." Resolved Question: How to do this in CSS/HTML?

Well, I wanna know if there was a way to make the "boxes" with your content (menu, footer, banner, content etc.) one fixed color, cause, mine are like transparent now and have the same color as the background... If that is possible, would it be possible to change the opacity? xD like, make it a tiny bit transparent? xD and for the final question... xD how do you change the color of your text? -w- I know these are all very basic things (at least, changing the text color is... xD) but, I forgot all of this... xD here is a sample of my CSS code: #menu { position:absolute; top:290px; left:auto; font-family: arial; font-size:small; text-align:left; height:500px; float:left; padding-top:10px; padding-left:10px; padding-right:10px; padding-bottom:auto; border: 5px outset #d00f0f; }thanks Ron, and now... final question... can you change the opacity of those fields? xDoh wait... I meant like, how do you like, give the fields and the background a seperate color.... xD more

Resolved Question: Can anyone see a parallel path with Argentina the USA is taking?

Careful now, this is going to require some time and thinking to answer. Every item listed here is a historical fact. So you can't say we have not been warned. Don't Cry for Me Argentina (Soon to be America) This is a history lesson. It happened in Argentina, it could happen in the U.S. In the early 20th century, Argentina was one of the richest countries in the world. While Great Britain’s maritime power and its far-flung empire had propelled it to a dominant position among the world’s industrialized nations, only the United States challenged Argentina for the position of the world’s second-most powerful economy. Like the United States, Argentina was blessed with abundant agriculture, vast swaths of rich farmland laced with navigable rivers, and an accessible port system. Its level of industrialization was higher than many European countries; railroads, automobiles, and telephones were commonplace. In 1916, Argentina elected a new president. Hipólito Irigoyen had formed a party called The Radicals under the banner of “fundamental change” with an appeal to the middle class. Among Irigoyen’s changes: mandatory pension insurance, mandatory health insurance, and support for low-income housing construction to stimulate the economy. Put simply, the state assumed economic control of a vast swath of the country’s operations and began assessing new payroll taxes to fund its efforts. With an increasing flow of funds into these entitlement programs, the government’s payouts soon became overly generous. Before long its outlays surpassed the value of the taxpayers’ contributions. Put simply, it quickly became under-funded, much like the United States’ Social Security and Medicare programs. The death knell for the Argentine economy, however, came with the election of Juan Perón. Perón had a fascist and corporatist upbringing; he and his charismatic wife, Eva, aimed their populist rhetoric at the nation’s rich. This targeted group “swiftly expanded to cover most of the propertied middle classes, who became an enemy to be defeated and humiliated.” Under Perón, the size of government bureaucracies exploded through massive programs of social spending and by encouraging the growth of labor unions. High taxes and economic mismanagement took their inevitable toll even after Perón had been driven from office. However, his populist rhetoric and “contempt for economic realities” lived on. Argentina’s federal government continued to spend far beyond its means. Hyperinflation exploded in 1989, the final stage of a process characterized by “industrial protectionism, redistribution of income based on increased wages, and growing state intervention in the economy…” The Argentinian government’s practice of printing money to pay off its public debts had crushed the economy. Inflation hit 3000%, reminiscent of the Weimar Republic. Food riots were rampant; stores were looted; the country descended into chaos. By 1994, Argentina’s public pensions — the equivalent of Social Security — had imploded. The payroll tax had increased from 5% to 26%, but it was not enough. In addition, Argentina had implemented a value-added tax (VAT), new income taxes, a personal tax on wealth, and additional revenues based upon the sale of public enterprises. These crushed the private sector, further damaging the economy. A government-controlled “privatization” effort to rescue seniors’ pensions was attempted. However, by 2001, those funds had also been raided by the government, the monies replaced by Argentina’s defaulted government bonds. By 2002, “…government fiscal irresponsibility… induced a national economic crisis as severe as America’s Great Depression.” In 1902, Argentina was one of the world’s richest countries. Little more than a hundred years later, it is poverty-stricken, struggling to meet its debt obligations amidst a drought. The Democrat Party’s populist plans for the U.S. cannot possibly work, because government bankrupts everything it touches. History teaches us that ObamaCare and unfunded entitlement programs will be utter, complete disasters. The Democrat Party leaders of today are guilty of more than stupidity; they are enslaving future generations to poverty and misery. And they will be long gone when it all implodes. They will be as cold and dead as Juan Perón when the piper must ultimately be paid. Do you see the parallel path? more

Resolved Question: How much would you expect to pay for advertising space for the following?

Hey, I am aiming this at supermarkets, so they can sponser events for the school and help us when raising money for charity and other causes. I need to get my figures etc right before I go round asking =] The advertising space would be on the bottom of all posters for all events at a school with 1400 pupils and say around 200 teachers. The posters would be on display at all major events: awards evening, summer fairs, Charity week, parent's evenings, induction evenings etc - the audience thus expands to all of the children's parents as well. If they sponser some of the fund raising events, they could then supply the school with larger banners etc to advertise their company. Eventually, it could be available on the school's Youtube channel that is slowly building up an audience of 500+ and growing. So the size of the space, about an Inch banner across the bottom of an A4 page. How much would you be willing to pay? If you have any other advice for your experience it would be truly appreciated! Thank you for your help! more

Resolved Question: Anybody know of a formula / easy way to size numerous logos the same for a banner?

I'm creating a banner for an event and have several different company logos that need to be placed on it. With some rectangles, some circular, some squares, I'm wondering how I go about sizing them all the same. I'm assuming I need to determine the area, but it will take forever to continuously calculate length x width to get each one to the write area. Anybody have any tips? more

Resolved Question: a medium sized tattoo between the shoulder blades?

ok so my dog died about 3 years ago (comming up soon) and i think its time (plus i can legally get one now) to get a tattoo for her..Im getting her paw print, with the two inner toes as the infinity sign..and a banner around it saying "may angels lead you in" and "11.14.07" (the date she died) anything else you think i can add that would look alright with the tattoo,i dont want it too cluttered but i dont want it to free looking...also how much would a tattoo hurt there? thanks btw i already have a few tats, one on the bottom of my back that says "how your body remembers what you told it to forget" "je taime" on the back of my leg, 3 stars on my ankle, 1 star on my other ankle and 2 more across the foot (by the toes) and a little cross on my arm. So would this tat hurt more than any of those (i know its bigger so it will but yea) or does one of those places hurt more... more
