I own an HP Pavilion tx2000 and I haven't been able to access the internet on it for quite a while. The wireless antenna switch is located on the front of the laptop(see link on bottom) and when I move it to the ON position, it doesn't turn ON. I also held it there for a while and the wireless antenna never turned ON. What can I do? is there another way to turn ON the antenna? (there are no shortcuts for it on the keyboard) It's not my home's wireless signal because my cousin's laptop is able to connect to it. And the laptop hasn't been dropped either, the antenna just stopped receiving signal from one day to the next. I've owned it for two years. It also runs on Vista Basic. http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h103/yes_avillanueva/hp.jpg moreOpen Question: Brand New SONY PLAYSTATION 3 SLIM PS3 120GB CONSOLE?

lately i have been haveing problems with GTA where the game just physically wouldnt come up, I believed it was due to having a bad mod, so I decided to completly get rid of everything (including my save), and reinstalled gta, I installed GTA san andreas v 2.0 and have NOT TOUCHED IT, no mods, no file swaps, nothing, a completely unaltered version, yet when i play it, it starts up with no problem, but after some time, it keeps crashing, randomly, i was just driveing a car around when it randomly crashed...anybody have theories on what could cause this? current build Core 2 quad q8400 clocked at 2.66, oc'd to 3.28 4 gb ddr2 800 ram gigabyte motherboard (GA-EP43-UD3L) Gigabyte Radeon 4670 (1gb memory, 800mhz mem clock, 750 mhz core clock, 320 stream proccesors, 128 bit memory) random cheap audio card (dont know the details, although i dont use this card, i use the hdmi port on video card to transfer audio to my monitor, and my monitors headphone out port to transfer audio to my headphones) have a linksys dual band wireless internet pci card 500 watt psu by thermaltake my hdd is IDE interface, 7200 rpm, old western digital, 149 gb total space, 82 gb used, my cd/dvd drive is also ide, but is actually pretty new (why didnt i get a sata one?), i dont know the speeds, for some reason, i think the component at fault might be the hard drive, while i dont have any GOOD reasons to think it is, I do have a crappy one: maybe the reason that i think the hard drive is the bad part is because, it is the oldest part in my system (yes it did come from a different computer, but it has since been erased and has its own operating system for this pc), so its the oldest part AND it is the only thing not seriously above the reccomended hardware list, i read the reccommended hardware to run gta, and my proccessor is way beter than it needs to be, so is my ram, and my video card too, but my hard drive is from the same generation as gta, while everything else is newer, so could this be it also i am running vista home premium 32 bit, my total windows experience index score is 5.6, the individuals are below processor 5.9 ram 5.9 graphics 5.9 gaming graphics 5.7 Primary hard disk 5.6 (only hard disk) any thoughts, theories, or ideas???wasnt sure if this belonged in hardware section, but most of the people in the video game section probably wouldnt know why its crashing while people in the hardware section might, so thats what i went withsorry i forgot to say earlier that i check my temps, they're fine, my cpu is fine due to a good cooler, and my gpu isnt overclocked (i tried it once, and even though the temps were fine, my comp crashed after 20 seconds)I have a comment to porkee, How is that even slightly relavent? did you even read the question, or did you just click on my question to advertise your newest keylogger, i mean dvd programto porkee, yeah i went and checked out your account, it is only 2 days old, and you have answered 4 questions, each question that you answered, you answered with the same ad moreOpen Question: Is there any way to speed up my slooooow internet broadband connection?

Ok so the 80gb zune I just got...I know its a old model and is thick, chunky, huge. Thats not a big deal to me though, I was just thinking about selling it and using that money to buy a zune HD. Because the truth is I REALLY dont need that much space. I probably wont even used half of it...I already have all the music I like on there and that only took up about 5gb. So should I sell it or not? I like the zune HD because it has touchscreen and you can get wireless internet...thats all I know about. moreOpen Question: HP Mini wireless connection problems. I recently (yesterday) bought a samsung monte on contract, £10 a month with virgin. However, i feel a bit uneasy about the whole mobile internet thing (which is kind of new to me). As far as i can gather, i can access the internet through either 3g or wi-fi. However, i THINK that internet access is only free when i am using wi-fi, using my wireless connection at home. How can i be sure that when i am using the internet, it is through wi-fi, and not 3g (which costs?). Also, how can i be sure that the samsung widgets that i am using are also free to use, as it sometimes says "extra costs may be incurred", for example when i use bbc iplayer? Basically, i would like a clearer idea of what i have to do to avoid paying for the additional costs of using the internet on my mobile. Thanks in advance and any help would be much appreciated Dave moreOpen Question: Windows 7 wont connect to internet!!! :(?
I just bought a computer running with Windows 7. However it wont connect to the internet wireless-ly. I know the wireless internet is working because I can use it on my phone, my other computers and my playstation perfectly fine. On the symbol at the bottom right hand side of the computer where it is usually 2 screens and the little globe, there is a screen with an X on it and an ethernet cable next to it. Why won't it connect wirelessly? Do I have to enable it to work wirelessly? moreOpen Question: Help with connecting to Xbox live with wired connection?
I am trying to connect to Xbox live with an ethernet cable and a wireless router. I have a Belkin 5e Patch Cable that i have connected to the Xbox on one end, and a Linksys E2000 Advanced Wireless-N Router on the other end. Everytime i try to connect, I get an "IP Fail". I have been on Xbox Live and absolutely NONE of their troubleshooting tips worked. I set the IP settings to "Automatic", i set them manually....nothing works. The router is able to connect my laptop to the internet with no trouble at all but it wont seem to connect my Xbox. Could it be my ethernet cable? Has anyone else experienced similar problems?I have a wireless router for my laptop's internet. I have tried the technique of using the laptop to get Live and that didnt work either. It ended up also getting an "IP Fail" error. more
