Voting Question: " I am a middle aged single woman.. who would like your advise on a career choice with this unstable economy">?
I am 45. I never had the opportunity or privelage of attending College. I had my share of some short term certificate courses .. that over the years not worked in my favor. I decided to do what interests me.. instead of allowing the pressure of society.. and the pressure of the economy to dictate what I should do for a living.. which to me personally is like living in a prison. I understand times are tough all over.. I have read hundreds of blogs from all states. I live in Central Wisconsin. In the area and surrounding there are many Day Spas.. and a Resort area as well that is a ways from me. I have decided to attend school for Esthetician. To work in the later. I am just concerned.. maby overly.. I know.. and have hope as many others do that things will improve and get better.. and jobs will open up in all areas ...not just a few sellect ones. I am not the type of person that can hate what I do. When I first moved into this state five years ago.. I took on many cleaning jobs.. that left my body banged up and lungs filled with chemicals from bleach. I worked at McDonalds for an okay wage here.. I have even attempted working in a factory .. which was sheer hell. I paid my dues.. there.. so..decided to do something that is of interest to me. Something .. I would be able to get out of bed and not dread or cry doing. The course is only five months. I don't thankfully.. in my situation and with the economy have any children. Just two dogs. I have come up with a plan of ideas to make extra money.. leading me into a side or business of my own. There is a theatre course at a near by College that allows you to take a College credit course cheaper for no credit and no tests.. I forget what they call it at the moment. This would be for theatre make up.. that would allow me to free lance at local theatres and Opra houses.I have both in my town where I live.. and outside of.. larger ones. Also... I was planning on setting a table up at a Bridal Expo .. to advertise my services.. for skin care once out of school and I get my lisence. I was going to advertise/make spa baskets.. and advertise on business cards.. spa bachelorette parties... bridal/brides maid make up groups..in addition to theatres and oprah.. once taking those classes. I also seen that quite a few spas offer permanent eye lash services. They offer the training here for one to two days. Its kinda expensive.. and this part and the theatre will have to wait a bit until I get some income and tips. But.. the permanent eye lash service are 250-300.00 a person a full set.. then 75.00 a month to 90.. up keep per month to fill in. Obvisously.. this service is geared towards the women who have money and who depend on their looks for their careers. Once I were to get certified in this area.. I could do this also on my own .. and work for myself. I recently ... saw an actual gold facial on tv that I am interested in looking into that goes for 625.00 per three sessions. So... there is much money to be made for those who have it to spend and are wealthy. I suppose ..... I am just panicking.. and thinking.. I am in a way going out on a limb here.. but honestly.. I have run out of choices.. I also thought.. about me establishing a busness and name for myself here.. and IF ... I ever decided to move.. all is lost .and I would have to start all over..... Please Offer Your Opionions and Support... Thank YouI hate the medical field al together..! I do have a state Medicaid Card that will remain in effect from year to year.. for anyone who does not have medical coeverage or works for themselfs. Not many employers can offer medical.. I would be a teacher.. before the medical field.. I am also writing a screen play which is my long term goal. Skin Care is my short term one.. HUGSPLease... don't leave me messages about The Medical Field As Stated.. I will not conform to a career I hate.. to be a cookie cutter representation of society.. My friend is a nurse and hates it.. The way the health care system in this country is going.. people will be responsible for their own health and the health industry will be phased out slowly...... Mostly... I rather leave this earth being true to who I am... I would rather go to hollywood and be an actor.. opposed to the Medical Industry.... As Stated.... I am presently pursuing being a screenwriter (close) ..which is what I plant to do in the future..for now.... Esthetician...NOT Medical... is my quesition
moreResolved Question: How do mums who were unable to exclusively breastfeed feel about the treatment and lack of support?
Sorry this goes on a lot as it's a raw subject for me.
It's all very well to say that breastfeeding is what nature intended in theory. However, nature gave me inverted nipples and my son a severe tongue tie. I bought everything I could prior to his birth to help with the nipple thing, but his tongue tie was just too much. After 24 hours, various visits from trained breastfeeding midwives, various different techniques tried and just 3 x 1ml of colostrum painfully hand expressed into syringes, I was told I needed to top-up with formula. I was devastated, jealous of other mums who found it easy and so embarrassed to have formula bottles on the hospital tray. That's not right!! But the current climate invites that feeling of failure.
Anyway, when it came to formula the help dried up. I carried on expressing colustrum until my milk came in: I then expressed for half an hour every couple of hours and was absolutely exhausted. But even that didn't seem to be enough for my hungry baby who still couldn't latch on and I had to carry on giving formula sometimes. Despite reading all of the instructions related to making up a feed and sterilising it turned out I was doing it wrong. I didn't find that out until later though which makes it even worse! A simple once over from the health visitor when she came would've highlighted my errors straight away. But my son could've become ill because of that and it would've cost the NHS a lot more to help him
I went to breastfeeding classes and was referred to a surgeon to get the tongue tie cut, however this didn't change the fact that my boy was still getting a couple of formula feeds a day and if I asked about this I was met with silent stares. This treatment led me to feel shame about the situation and I found myself justifying to anyone who'd listen at baby groups that it was breastmilk in his bottle (I wouldn't leave the house with formula). Again that's not right!! Despite all of this, the local breastfeeding contact 'forgot' to send the referral and the tongue tie wasn't cut until he was 2 months old! So it turns out the NHS' stance on support for exclusive breastfeeding only works in limited ways.
Anyway, then someone like me can come across a website like this and the comments from some people are horrendous. I just read one. In response to a mother who is working and studying and having difficulty expressing at work, something like 'No it is never ok to give your baby formula and anyone that tells you it is is lying'. Is it not enough that breastfeeding mothers are giving their own babies the best start in life? How can they justify forcing their beliefs down someone elses neck in such a cruel way?
I have a friend and her 4 month old girl was diagnosed as allergic to dairy, then allergic to soya milk also. She is now in the hospital on a drip being fed through a tube. How do you think she would feel if she came on here browsing for some tips about bottle feeding and saw some of these comments? Honestly, after 4 months in and out of hospital it could be the final straw. New mothers that I barely know have cried in front of me when we talk about this subject. So which is better, a formula fed baby with a happy, healthy mother, or the opposite (worst case postnatal depression)? The NHS would spend tax money on helping a smoker or someone who's fried themselves on sunbeds, but can't provide people like me with a few minutes and words of advice about something essential like feeding a newborn breastmilk alternatives?!
I was actually thinking of starting a petition to send to the department of health. What do people think? Waste of time? I completely support the guidelines on exclusive breastfeeding and the ban on advertising formula for babies under 6 months, but in my experience of people I've met, for every happy breastfeeding mother there are 2 or 3 who have had problems for a variety of reasons and it makes them feel alienated. The disclaimers on the webpages of formula brand companies feel like unnecessarily cruel jibes at times! There has to be a reasonable way to offer proper NHS support to mothers who can prove that they have tried everything they can. Because after 10 years of paying tax am I not entitled to that? Or am I wrong?OK I should add that the tongue tie has been cut and I carried on to sucessfully breastfeed, so I wasn't looking for advice. I want an opinion on if people think a petition would go very far. My question is about the how the current guidelines affect women who have had problems also.In response to cathrl69, I don't think I'm special in the slightest. My post came as a result of meeting lots of people at Surestart Centres who felt the same.
In terms of governing the point where help becomes available, I take your points on board, but my opnion is that you don't have to have physical signs for a trained breastfeeding helper to be able to see that it's not laziness or lack or trying that's the problem. And I don't think it's just as good not to breastfeed, but my opinion is that if formula has to come into the equation the support should be there. IE using my smoking example, the support is there for smokers, but that doesn't adovate it.
I suppose I should have phrased the question as 'if you suffered from a lack of support'. I'm learning from these replies though that perhaps it's possible that it's my local NHS service that's the reason my fellow mothers and I have been made to feel deserted, which in itself is something I can try to change.

moreResolved Question: Is Government advertising a waste of money?
Personally I think they are patronising, un informative and useless.
Does the Chlamydia ad inspire you to "Just pee in a pot"
Doe the Swine Flu ad educate you, I mean its complicated stuff, wash your hands and throw your tissue away!! Does that constitute a huge media campaign!!
What about the bloke insulating his house, "Hes just one man trying to make a difference" does That " One man trying to make a difference" inspire you to insulate your house.
The Child Maintenance Ad, what a cracker "I just want to do whats right for the kids" no thats not true, it just inspires vindictive mothers to make a CSA claim""
The cracker must be the Direct Gov ad "It must be Gov" How much must they have spent on getting all those celebs, or did they just do it out of kindnes and not charge a fee!!
Its ridiculous, wouldnt the money spent on these useless ads be better spent on schools, NHS etc..
Well even if they did save the ad money it would only go on immigrants!! You cant win with this government can you!!

Hey,
I really need some help, in February 16th I'm going to London Euston to visit my boyfriend, I'm returning on the same day. But the train-line sites are confusing the hell outta me, I dont wanna spend a small fortune going down there for the day.
I'd be getting the train from Telford Central - London Euston.
There are posters in the train station advertising a return from £40. But on the websites I've seen tickets been sold from anywhere between £11 and £158 !?!
Does anybody know how the hell I judge those things or work them out, I dont understand the booking in advance thing, but I dont think I could afford to buy them on the day if theyre gonna fob me off £158
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
moreResolved Question: Are there any charities helping in Haiti where most of the money goes to Haiti and not admin and marketing?
There are so many charities now which seem to support a lot of admin staff on fairly large salaries. The charities spend a lot of money on mail shots and advertising, and when money is slim (as during the recession), there is no slimming down of admin, just a slimming down of the help to the people who need it. There are no share holders to answer to, so the people in charge just keep drawing their huge salaries.
I want to donate some money to Haiti. Can anyone advise me of the best charity to donate to so that the help gets to the people in Haiti and is not spent on keeping people in cushy jobs.Thank you for all of your answers. I will check out the links and make my decision. After checking the site from Miss Dementia and reading the other feedback I will donate to the Red Cross. I am in Switzerland so can donate directly in CHF. Thank you again for all of the information

My head and my heart are in a battle. I have run a successful mortgage brokerage in the UK since 2001. Unfortunately since the market turned 2 years ago I have really struggled to keep going. I have business debts of around £18,000 - this includes my business overdraft, accountants & corporation tax bill.
I want to keep going (my heart) but every month I am going deeper into debt as the new business just isn't coming in - people either are not moving or cant move.
My head is telling me to walk away now and take whatever the consequences might be.
I have done this job all my life since I was 18 (i'm now 42) and I dont know what else I could do as job except for things like taxi driving etc.
The problem I have is that I have spent quite a bit of money now on advertising, promotion and networking groups - and whilst this had bought quite a few enquiries very little has turned into business as lenders wont lend or clients dont have big enough deposits or sufficient salary.
I am really at the end of my tether and getting slowly more and more depressed.
I would appreciate some honest opinions and advice

moreVoting Question: Rudeness of the year award....... it's got to be doctor's receptionists hasn't it?...?
Just why are Doctor’s Receptionists so completely & utterly vile…
Do they go on training courses in how to be particuarly nosy, unpleasant, unhelpful & downright rude. Do they think that by their association with trained medical professionals that they are somehow special by association & can ignore the rules of polite social interaction?… even though they are actually just clerks who deal with healthcare…
Or do they advertise for these people:
‘Wanted: unhelpful ball of grumpiness with the telephone manner of Shrek to make people’s lives just that little bit more difficult?’
The odd thing is that 99% of professional healthcare professionals (doctors & nurses) are exceptionally pleasant & helpful. Unfortunately the front of house staff, who don’t have the professional qualifications, seem to go out of their way to be completely & utterly snotty and rude….. why is this?… are they frustrated doctors & nurses who lack the ability to achieve that sort of status?…
Of course we know that sometimes being a receptionist is a thankless task. We know that people can be rude, unreasonable and demanding and that collecting that sort of aggravation is bound to have an effect. But we also know that many people who work in support roles are good at their jobs. And by being good at their jobs they make nurses’ and doctors’ jobs that little bit easier if only because clinicians do not have to spend time placating frustrated patients.
Logically receptionists are PAID to field enquiries, not to make sick/anxious people even more scared.... if they are don't have the correct attitude for the role then why do that job?....
So why are these people such massive jobsworths?…. any ideas?...And - for the other folks who don’t even know me telling me that I have the attitude problem!!! – well actually, not only are you wrong, you’re very very wrong. I work in customer facing role & am politeness itself… even when dealing with rude people.
My Mother is a Radiographer & my sister an anaesthetist. I understand full well exactly how the medical profession works & most of the complaints received specify the rudeness of doctor’s receptionists as the no.1 issue.
And I’m not alone here:

Higher Business Management

A large firm has developed a new product.
Describe the factors that should be considered when pricing this new product.
The market segment in which the organisation wishes to sell it’s product or service must be considered to achieve maximum profit, or any profit at all because if the product is aimed at being sold to working class consumers then the product is unlikely to sell well in this segmentation if the product has a high cost (if it is unnecessary. E.g. Plasma televisions, video games, dishwashers). If the product being released when there are already many competitors e.g. soft drink companies such as Pepsi or Coca Cola then there would need to be a vast amount of money spent on promotion and advertising and is unlikely to sell well if it is more expensive than the commonplace recognized brands. If the product is innovative and new to the market then there are likely to be very few or no competitors so prices can be set initially high when it is introduced.

moreResolved Question: Hi, Can anyone please help me with this questionnaire. Thank you and merry xmas and a prosperous new year!?
In this questionnaire you are presented with a series of situations that are encountered by Sainsbury's Trainee Managers in their day-to-day work.
For each of the situations your task is to read the description and the four options for dealing with that situation. You then need to rank the options in line with what you feel is the best course of action to take first in the situation. (Rank each action from '1'=Best Choice; to '4'=Worst Choice).
When reviewing the options in each situation, you may feel that there is more than one suitable answer. Remember that you should always choose the option you feel would be the best course of action to take first in the situation.
As this questionnaire only concerns how you would personally react in certain situations, not how well you know Sainsbury's, please disregard any prior knowledge you have relating to Sainsbury's standard policy and procedures when answering each question.
This questionnaire should take approximately 15 minutes to complete. While there is no time limit, we recommend that you avoid spending too much time considering each question.
Please ensure you allow enough time to complete the questionnaire in one sitting - it is not possible to save your responses unless you complete all of the questions.
Finally, we recommend that you complete the questionnaire in a quiet area where you will not be disturbed.

The question I ultimately want to look at is: if someone spends about £100 at a supermarket, approximately how much of that money goes to pay for advertising? I don't know if anyone here would be able to answer something like that, but I'd appreciate any hints about where to start researching an answer to this question.
moreResolved Question: How to find a job in a tough market through applied practical fashion?
I clipped the items below today from one of my favorite websites, ‘Aol find a job / Career Builder’
http://jobs.aol.com/articles/2009/10/16/what-not-to-wear-to-a-job-interview/?icid=main|htmlws-main-n|dl4|link3|http%3A%2F%2Fjobs.aol.com%2Farticles%2F2009%2F10%2F16%2Fwhat-not-to-wear-to-a-job-interview%2F
The following is a list of fashion choices the article recommends all job seekers ought avoid when interviewing for a job:
1. Sunglasses on top of your head or headphones around your neck
Be sure to remove all your "transit gear" and tuck it in your briefcase before entering the lobby.
2. Carrying a backpack or fannypack instead of a briefcase or portfolio
Some image consultants suggest women ditch their purse, too!
3. Too-short skirts
Your skirt should cover your thighs when you are seated.
4. The wrong tie
Ties should be made of silk, no less than 3 ¾ inches wide with a conservative pattern. Image consultants say the best colors are red or burgundy.
5. Overly bright or large-patterned clothing
With the possible exception of creative fields like advertising or computer programming, it's best to stick with navy, black or gray.
6. Heavy makeup on women
(or any makeup on a man)
7. Earrings on men
In fact, men should avoid wearing any jewelry unless it is a wedding ring, class ring or metal watch.
8. More than one set of earrings on women
9. Facial piercings, tongue jewelry or visible tattoos
10. Ill-fitting clothes
Few people can wear things straight off the rack. Spending a little extra to have your garments tailored is a worthwhile investment.
11. Long fingernails, especially with bright or specialty polishes
Nails should look clean and be trimmed to a length that doesn't leave an observer wondering how you keep from stabbing yourself.
12. Unnatural hair colors or styles
Remember, Donald Trump was a billionaire well before he began wearing a comb-over. If you're balding, try a close-cropped cut like Bruce Willis or Matt Lauer.
13. Short-sleeved shirts
Even worse when worn with a tie
14. Fishnets, patterned hosiery or bare legs (no matter how tan you are)
Women should stick with neutral color hosiery that complements their suit.
15. Men whose socks don't match their shoes
Or whose socks are too short and leave a gap of flesh when they are seated
16. Rumpled or stained clothing
If interviewing late in the day, try to change to a fresh suit beforehand.
17. Scuffed or inappropriate footwear
Including sneakers, stilettos, open-toed shoes and sandals
18. Strong aftershaves, perfumes or colognes
Many people are allergic to certain scents. For a subtle fragrance, use a good quality bath soap.
19. Belts and shoes that don't match
Shoes and belts should be made of leather or leather-like materials and the best colors for men are black or cordovan.
20. Telltale signs that you're wearing a new suit
Remove all tags and extra buttons -- and remember to cut off the zigzag thread that keeps pockets and slits closed!
I personally think that list is far too long and complicated, and consequently, I have composed what I think is a more concise and easier to remember list:
1. When interviewing for a job, always wear a costume that disguises your actual identity then role play a fictional character in order to deceive your prospective employer because that is the only way an unworthy and deficient piece of crap like you will ever get a job.
There, how is that? That’s a lot easier to remember, don't you think? Do you have any other good ideas for the job interview fashion recommendation list?BA COMMENT (part 1): I’m disappointed by voter apathy and low turnout but the two answers posted are nonetheless good and thoughtful ones (although I suspect Doc stopped reading somewhere prior to my sarcastic conclusion). (I’m going to try condensing and revising this question then asking it again.) I obviously can never logically reconcile collectivism with individualism but I do in fact consider individuality a crucial element of collectivism. I (and in my estimation an overwhelming majority of collectivists) do not want us all in identical black jumpsuits chanting common phrases. To me, collectivism means unconditional universal inclusion and that means we never recommend disguises or advise each other on how best to conceal our principles and personal identities. I have spent most of my professional career under ‘business attire’ hair & dress codes, and no experience in my lifetime (including disputes with the IRS) has ever come anywhere near equaling the oppression I have feltfrom an employer empowered to dictate my physical appearance. What could ever be more personal, more intrusive and humiliating or a more absolute form of power than to directly control something so crucial as personal physical identity? Perhaps somewhat counter-intuitively, it is precisely the ideal of individualism that entitles my employer to exercise the individual liberty to oppress my individuality, while the unconditional universality of collectivism is the arguably superior safeguard. I do not ‘want’ to work for the man; economic & social conditions COMPEL me to work for the man, and long before any argument, challenge or dialogue ever occur, I cloak myself in a disguise, conceal my identity then deceive the prospective employer with fraudulent conformity (both physical and intellectual -- After successfully deceiving a prospective employer with my disguise, convinced of my conformity and uniformity, most of my employers, managers and coworkers then feel surprisinglycomfortable telling me how much they hate people like me… of course, totally unaware all the while that I am in fact a person like me). This is the story of my professional lifetime; for the majority of it, I portray a fictional character, I am a spy, an enemy infiltrator, a fugitive under an assumed identity. Surely, no one would ever dispute these are unhealthy relationships built on falsehoods and deception. I make a very sharp distinction between individualism and individuality, and I am quite confident based on our previous correspondence that you easily appreciate that distinction, and in addition I imagine you appreciate and respect individuality no less than me. So, once again, I find the fundamental disagreements between the reasonable rational collectivist and the reasonable rational individualist among the most trivial and negotiable of the components involved in the issue. Great response, and again as usual, sorry for the verbose reply.
moreVoting Question: UK Legal - contracts - payment on account?
We are a small firm in England, UK. We signed up a partnership agreement with a software company. As agreed we paid £15k for 'stock' of software licenses to show committment to the partnership. These are not physical items - but software licenses / install services.
So nothing ever transferred to us in effect.
We thought we would sell them quickly as the firm was quite bullish and had a number of partners around the country and a trading record. Despite spending £20k on advertising their product, professional telesales, mailshots etc etc we sold none.
The company has now decided that their partners should go through a third party firm (who is one of their main partners and a former rival firm) and we have been asked to pay a few grand a year for this benefit. We decided not to go with them. The third party said if we didn't we would not be a partner any more. One of the firms staff also repeated this.
We have now been told that the 'stock' is not a payment on account (and therefore refundable if they cancel the contract) but stock - and therefore non-refundable. They did say that we could remain a partner direct with them if we wish and sell the 'stock' to anyone that wants it (nobody in our experience).
Are we legally entitled to ask for the payment back that we paid for 'stock'? If so what law would you quote. Many thanks!
moreResolved Question: Is there any point of wearing a hijab if we wear seductive clothing and make up fellow sisters ?
let me explain.
some women wear tight fitting clothing, keeping in touch with fashions and trends, wear lingerie and skirts to accentuate that barely covered part of their bodies - they then spend lavishly on make up such as lip stick, eye shadow, gloss etc
they wear heels and other trendy fashionable footwear and then finaly put on the hijab - and they go out with friends or female relatives.
In Egypt it was reported that 93% of the women who wear hijab have felt harrassed by men on more than one occasion.
As it pans out, its no surprise because they do exactly what I have mentioned above - they dress up sexy and seductive showing every curve of their body, and think they can show moderate humility by wearing the hijab.
I'm fed up with this personaly because if you want to dress up sexy and spend lavishly on dress attire, jewelry and make up - ditch the hijab.
I don't like foreigners mocking our womenfolk and our men aren't helping matters either by harrassing us or psychologicaly bullying us into wearing a burqa.
Wear the hijab but dress with humility and grace, the way Allah commands you to.
Let the westernised women dress in a 'sexy seductive' way, if they want to share the beauty of their bodies to men with lustful thoughts (which is , lets face it 100% heterosexual men on earth) then let them.
when I wear my hijab, i wear absolutely no make up at all - ZILCH, nothing, i look as natural as i possibly can. I wear it properly too - no hair showing at all. I wear sensible footwear, like closed shoes and not heels or other 'girly footwear' and I certainly dont wear pants which accentuate my curves. Lingerie - you can keep that away from me, and let the wh0res wear it.
I am a muslim female and that means its my moral obligation to not advertise my flesh as 'sex'.
do you agree that if u want to dress very sexy its pointless to wear hijab ?
moreResolved Question: How does pet insurance work and does any one else have pet insurance with More than?
I have a labrador puppy and she is 6 months old. This morning the milk man knocked her down. We had to take her to vets and they found she had broken her leg. I have pet insurance with More Than and took all the paper work and claim form with me when went to pick her up. I was very surprised when they insisted that I pay the vet fees up front and that I would then have to claim it back from insurance company. The Vet fees for today alone were £300. I stupidly thought that having pet insurance stops you ending up having to pay large vet bill. That's what these insurance companies advertise. Any way I was obviously wrong. Is this normal to have to pay the vet fees up front. how does pet insurance normally work. I have read through all my insurance paper work and can't find any thing. Im really concerned because she has got to go back on saturday to have more x-rays and has got to have her dressing changed. for this she has got to be put to sleep. This is going to cost another £200 at least. Then next week she has got to go back at least twice to have dressing changed etc. Which will probably cost £200 a time. So by the end of next week we are looking at me spending £1000 alone.I don't even know if she will have to go back again the week after. I can't afford this I don't have this kind of money just lieing around spare. I want whats best for my dog. I love her to pieces and don't know what to do. I know I will get money back eventually but that's not the point. If I spend that amount which is nearly a months wages Ill have no money left to pay my bills or rent. Can any one suggest what I should do. If any one has insurance With more than can you explain how it work
Thanks in advance

moreResolved Question: Completely confused in career direction. Has anybody ever felt lost and re-found themselves?
I started working for a post production television company 1.5 years ago in London, in that time I have been promoted from runner, to head runner, to reception and now I do a bit of press and marketing for the company – the job is DULL, its very admin based and I practically sit on facebook all day. I am so bored but at the same time feel a bit trapped by the security of having a job that pays the wage, but the problem is, I don’t feel as though I am fulfilling my potential. I have always wanted to work on camera, in action and am a very creative person but since I started working in the industry the competetiveness and the horrible people have really knocked me which has made me question whether I want to spend the rest of my career working in an industry that is so backstabbing and unreliable. I used to be interested in advertising but to be honest – I don’t think I can handle the rat race, there must be more to life surely? I have been accepted onto a course in Journalism and Economics starting September but I’ve become so demotivated by my job that I don’t know if I even want to do that anymore, apparently journalism is just as bad. I’m not sure if I’m just using it as an escape route out of being trapped. I am 22 now and worrying that I am wasting time when I could be working towards success, I’m really not sure what to do. Any advice?

Not asking for much...

Reps and these marketing companies are paid out of the money people pay and they choose how much goes to the charity. The reps travel throughout the UK but as far as I know eclipse and endeva travel across east midlands to leicester, sleaford, nottingham, chesterfield etc. Dont pay donate through these people, donate online so then youre getting the most out of your money to the charity. The charities they represent include NDCS, British Red cross, WWF, RSPB and more charities. And do NOT work for these people they will disrespect you, make you give up relationship's unless he/she also works for the company, make you cancel hospital appointments pre arranged, and if you wont let them use your own car, they will say "your car is knackered anyway" and will try to bully you into using it to ferry around the people who dont have cars. Someone on the web who also used to work for endeva said he was stripped of every sale he made just because he quit! These companies save so much money by not paying staff travel expenses, and not paying for labour. Unless you want all the disadvantages of being self employed with all the disadvantages of employment (stupid hours made by the company MONDAY - SATURDAY 80+ HOURS PER WEEK and commission only based pay during what little time you spend selling) STAY AWAY!

moreResolved Question: Would you visit this hotel? And if you would...please tell me why?
Melbourne, June 25 (ANI): Owing to a rather 'ironical' ad campaign, an Amsterdam hotel, which claimed to be 'the worst hotel in the world', has become a huge hit with travellers in the city.
The campaign, by advertising agency KesselsKramer, paints the Hans Brinker budget hotel in Amsterdam as dirty, uncomfortable and lacking basic necessities such as beds.
Although the advertisers promoted the hotel in dog poo, the 650-bed hotel is attracting customers in large numbers and runs at around 80 per cent occupancy even in the low season.
The hotel's success is fully attributed the advertising campaign, which "takes honesty to the extreme" and are "revered and reviled in equal measure", said the company's website.
The ads promote the hotel as "similar to hell, but without proper heating".
Dave Bell, Creative Director and Partner at KesselsKramer, said that the hotel has found a unique selling-point.
"Everybody is always trying to be the best, but there are merits in being the worst. May be more people should strive to be the worst at something, when you're the worst you have a lot more room to be creative and do your own thing," News.com.au quoted Bell as saying.
In a YouTube video, the hotel promotes itself as "accidentally eco-friendly"- having a lack of services such as cleaning and elevators that are out of order means it uses less energy.
"The Hans Brinker budget hotel has been helping the planet, unintentionally, since 1970," said one advertisement.
"Here is a hotel where the light bulbs don't work. A hotel whose showers have less hot water than is standard. Where elevators stay out of order for days. And whose vacuum cleaners' buttons are rarely switched on," the hotel said in the YouTube video.
"To lessen our impact on the environment staff do as little as possible for guests. An eco-elevator ensures that the only energy spent going to the room is your own," said a poster.
"Leave the towel on the rack. We won't wash it. Leave the towel on the floor. We still won't wash it," said another poster.

moreResolved Question: Michael Owen a spent force?
Newcastle have gone down and the player who many (even here) were defending a year ago have seen the player reduced to releasing a 32 page broacher to advertise himself to other clubs.
First let me state that this question serves no purpose to be biased but to gain a credible answer to England's forgotten gem.
The problem with Owen that many have claimed is that he's a poacher/baby liner, of course criticism has never been justified by his price fee and his bad timing to leave real Madrid and not help on Liverpool when the club was at crossroads in where it will go (and perhaps still is) The end result has portrayed Owen as arrogant.
Unfortunately such views (right or wrong) have given way to insulting judgment to such a player. That's drying up on shots to even the claim that was settled out of court that Owen was to retire.
Owen can score goals, that kind of natural instinct doesn’t leave and at a relatively young playing age should be a must buy for any top four club but nobody wants him still.
Of course he may get bought anytime soon however interest by the big clubs looks unlikely, even at a time when the four big clubs are refusing to spend big.
Personally I do not believe that it’s the 'poaching approach' is his downfall, Berbatov is such a person and Anelka is a clinical but rarely interactive with the team (and won the golden boot)
Of course those would argue that Fernando Torres was gone for half the season.
A return to Liverpool seems unlikely, if it was then it is likely to be expected he'll be second choice to Torres. And let's face it Torres has been an exceptional class. He works with the team but can also create better chances as well.
So is there a place for Owen in the top four or another promising premiership team, let alone a return to England national squad? Or has Madrid, injuries and Newcastle diminished too much of his potential?

What makes you choose your driving school?
What services do they need to offer?
What do you look for and what is important to you?
I'm already providing Pass Plus and Motorway tuition.
All advice and feedback welcomed.
www.passwithcbs.co.ukReally useful comments so far, I can see price is definitely a huge concern.
I have to question your calculations though Helen. 10 hours a day would mean working 8-8 7days a week. Fair enough.
£10 an hour. Would mean £7 after tax and NI. £5 after Fuel. Giving £350 a week. After Car cost, Insurance, Advertising. £200 a week IF you can get 70 hours work a week, without cancellations. Paying approx £3 an hour?
Not arguing that learning to drive is expensive. Just that as a job it is not easy, and based on 1970's prices they would now be £47+ an hour! So, that opens the debate... being fair to everyone, how much is a fair figure? :)

moreResolved Question: Can anyone relate to this?
Every week we hear of some fantastic pill or chocolate tasting shake that will hold the key to all our quick-fix plans to shed those extra pounds.
I for one have been on a diet since I can remember. Every year, after Christmas, I sign up to yet another weight loss programme; be it ‘Weight Watchers’ or ‘Slimming World’, you name it I have tried them all. I end up spending a fortune to stand on a set of scales and be told that I have put on weight again; and as I stand there and I swear that I have stuck to the diet rigidly when the Weight Watchers Leader is asking me what went wrong (not letting on that I have had a wonderful weekend of food debauchery); or occasionally I have lost weight: which is normally because I haven’t eaten or drunk anything since breakfast and almost faint with hunger as I leave the room.
Now every so often there is something that is brought on to the market that will solve all our fat problems! Something that means you can have your cake and eat it quite literally - I for one, in the past, have been drawn into its advertising spell and have spent a fortune on some magic potion that is going to solve all my problems. I sit there and read, with glee, how this wonder pill is going to help me shed up to 6lbs a week. Great! I think to myself; I will only need to buy two weeks supply to lose a stone! There I go again handing over £50 for 2 weeks’ supply of ‘kid myself pills’ and trust that for the next few days that these pills are the answer to all my prayers. Needless to say all I do is sit on the toilet for most of the day after I have eaten and feel quite sick and angry that I have been drawn into another ‘rip off’ yet again!
Why do we do this to ourselves? There are far too many ‘too good to be true’ potions on the market and not one of them work. They draw you in with pictures of gorgeous women who claim to have taken them and have ended up looking like a supermodel at the end of it. It just isn’t going to happen. We would all love to look like Keira Knightley or Cheryl Cole however, they can afford to have someone cook them low fat meals every time they eat or are able to hire a personal trainer to keep them fit and healthy; the only way us normal folk can to do it is to eat less food and do more exercise.
These ‘too good to be true’ potions will only eat in to your £s and at a push help you with a bit of water retention. Take it from someone who has tried them all: they just don’t work. I’ll keep on with the ‘Weight Watchers’ which, if I’m serious, is a bit of a social event for me which I enjoy: and it keeps me on the straight and narrow (which is what I’ll be in a few months time!!) If it says that it is ‘too good to be true’ it usually is.I am happy with myself and the story is not about me being on WW... It is about 'Too Good To Be True' potions`!!
moreResolved Question: What can i do about killabid.co.uk?
There is a bidding website called killabid.co.uk that my friend told me about after hearing it advertised on the radio which offers various items that you have to bid on to win. It works by you first purchasing bids off the website for 50p each then every time you bid the timer adds on 10 seconds and the price of the item goes up by 13p, when the timer reaches zero the highest bidder wins. (Or at least this is what they say) The other night I was bidding on one of their phones and the timer reached zero yet it didn’t say I won, instead the timer reset to 8 hours because you cannot bid between midnight and 8am yet there rules state when the timer reaches zero the highest bidder wins which should mean I won the item seeing the timer said zero for a couple of seconds before resetting. After this happened I emailed them asking what happened and I still haven’t got a reply but after I actually spent a short while watching the site it's obvious that the site is a scam site. The same things they sell always go for the exact same amount and when you see the bidding going on you will never see the same person bid twice on 1 item which anyone who knows the slightest thing about auctions knows that isn't how it works. (obviously if there’s a couple of people wanting the same item you should see their names reappear over and over again like mine was when I was bidding)
With the site being advertised on radio and having to pay for bids through PayPal I didn't even think of checking the site for being dodgy I just presumed it would be legit. Unfortunately I feel rather foolish now seeing how obvious it is.
My question is what can I do to get the site checked and hopefully closed down so no one else can get scammed like I was? The address is http://www.killabid.co.uk/ so check it out yourself if you don't believe how dodgy it is
moreVoting Question: Could you look through my writing and correct my grammatical mistakes? part 2?
Hi:) Could you look through my writing and correct my grammaticall mistakes? It is a part of my coursework. Thank you very much for your help!
"All of businesses that want to benefit for international presence must be aware that some government regulations and policies are possibly different. Law in England and will vary and business that is expanding should have good knowledge about low under which they are going to operate in the future. Lack of knowledge could cause serious and expensive problems in the future.
Form my own experience, I know that USA’s law and regulations are different form those in the European Union. For example, three years ago when I was looking for a laptop with high specification, I realized that it is much cheaper to buy a laptop from one of the biggest online retailer which was located in USA. If you buy a product from outside the Europium Union particular product is shipped to you and you have to remember about additional costs, such as: taxes which depend on what US state the seller is in. The selling price which was stated on the webpage was very attractive and unfortunate it didn’t include additional costs. Finally, when I nearly purchased the laptop I discovered that I needed to spend some extra money on tax purposes.
Each business which operates internationally must remember that a potential customer may feel cheated if he or she will find out after purchasing that it is necessary to add $150 to selling price of $500 for tax purposes and shipping purposes. All businesses which distribute their products to audience in different countries should remember to inform them about additional costs.
The business which wants to expand also should be aware that some foreign languages are completely different, for example Arabic is read form right to left. Some advertising slogan could be difficult to translate. Even when it can be translated it could be difficult to understand for foreigners and the advert will be not as effectible as it was on home market. There are many examples of translations that went disastrously wrong. For example, when translated into Chinese, the KFC slogan "finger-lickin' good" came out as "eat your fingers off". In some countries, some types of adverts are not allowed to be shown in public and as I mentioned before is this task some adverts can by taken as offensive because of cultural differences, different priorities in life or different sense of humour.
The owner of the business that want to expand and operate in different countries must have specific knowledge about foreign culture and markets because a cultural difference can have a big impact on the way how business is operating, A lack of knowledge can be expensive and can cause many future problems. In different countries there may be some restrictions on what can be shown and what cannot.
The owner of the business must make sure that he or she has a good knowledge about the culture and the market where the new business will be operating and run the marketing campaign."No, it wouldn't that be cheating. I wrote everything in by myself and i just need to correct my errors :(
moreResolved Question: ****Atheist summer camp!!!! advertised on Dawkins' website?

(accessed via richarddawkins.net)
Philosophy for children, evolutionary biology, seems a bit heavy for a kid on their summer break, their one big holiday from school.
Do you think children would enjoy spending part of their summer like this?
If you are an atheist or agnostic, would you send your child on a camp like this?
All answers welcome@ Matt - it is advertised as such, the intro says that it is for kids of atheists, agnostics and humanists. It says it will emphasise a natural rather than supernatural worldviewIt seems to me to be indoctrination of children with a certain worldview.
Indoctrination of children is always wrong, whether it is religious or atheistic.

Advertising, wherever, whenever and in whatever form, it is reality pure. Influenced it our society? But of course! What are the advantages and disadvantages of this development? Let's start with the pro arguments.
First of all thanks commercials, people get a lot of new information about new products. These products are presented on TV, on the radio or in magazines and newspapers like a "Cosmopolitan" or "The Washington Post".
Another positive aspect of our consumer society is that all products are easy available. For example you can buy German cars, Japanese multimedia-electronics and lot of other things everywhere around the World.
But there are also a lot of negative Aspects of this development. First the advertising rouses people's attention, then their interest and finally the desire to buy this product. In this way, children and adults will very influenced by the advertising. Maybe they buy things that they don't need. For example expensive watches, luxury cars, villas with large swimming pools. These are all luxury things that we don't really need! How the Gandhi said: “There is enough on earth for everybody’s need, but not for everyone’s greed.” Another negative aspect of this development is that you can get a credit from bank to buy something. Many people do it but than they can not give the money back!
My opinion is also that if we only bought things we needed, there would be enough for everybody. What do we need really? What you need depends on how old you are and your way of life. If we don’t need to buy so much, we don’t need to work so much. We can take part-time jobs or reduce our working day from 8 hours to 6 hours. Some people are leaving very well paid jobs to live a healthier life in the countryside or a more exciting life abroad. This is called ‘downshifting’. Parents can spend more time with their children and the unemployed are given more opportunities to work.
