Open Question: Why did Obama send all of our green jobs overseas?
Obama's Stimulus Creating Green Jobs Overseas Although Barack Obama and other Democrats touted the $787 billion stimulus package as a way to create green jobs that would put Americans back to work, new reports show the spending package has mostly created green jobs for foreign workers. U.S. Department of Energy statistics show 79 percent of the $2.1 billion in stimulus money allocated for wind energy has been paid to foreign manufacturers. The Spanish company Iberdrola has received $443 million; the Portuguese company EDP has received $229 million; and the British company Terra Firma, which bought a large wind farm in western Pennsylvania, received $42 million. Analysts worry the stimulus funds will also help create manufacturing jobs in China, and a Texas consortium’s plans to build a wind farm that primarily will rely on Chinese-made turbines using $450 million in stimulus money underscores this fear A report from the Investigative Reporting Workshop at American University found 80 percent of the stimulus money had created 6,000 jobs, and only a small percentage of those jobs went to American workers. Only two American companies ̶ General Electric Energy and Clipper Wind ̶ are major wind turbine manufacturers, and the American Wind Energy Associations has said the United States saw a drop in the number of wind turbine manufacturing jobs last year. http://www.newsmax.com/InsideCover/obama-stimulus-green-jobs/2010/02/11/id/349703 Does he hate American workers so much that he steals their tax dollars to help out his "friends" overseas? moreOpen Question: Is homosexuality a mental disorder, a gender identity disorder or both?
First, the gender identity disorder would explain the gays who claim to be born gay, but choose gays who act like and resemble the opposite sex. The mental disorder would explain why gays have a high level of alcohol and drug abuse, and suicide. Common sexual practices among gay men lead to numerous STDs and physical injuries, some of which are virtually unknown in the heterosexual population. Lesbians are also at higher risk for STDs. In addition to diseases that may be transmitted during lesbian sex, a study at an Australian STD clinic found that lesbians were three to four times more likely than heterosexual women to have sex with men who were high-risk for HIV. It is well established that there are high rates of psychiatric illnesses, including depression, drug abuse, and suicide attempts, among gays and lesbians. This is true even in the Netherlands, where gay, lesbian and bisexual (GLB) relationships are far more socially acceptable than in the U.S. Depression and drug abuse are strongly associated with risky sexual practices that lead to serious medical problems. Excessive sexual promiscuity results in serious medical consequences — indeed, it is a recipe for transmitting disease and generating an epidemic.11 The HIV/AIDS epidemic has remained a predominantly gay issue in the U.S. primarily because of the greater degree of promiscuity among gays. A study based upon statistics from 1986 through 1990 estimated that 20-year-old gay men had a 50 percent chance of becoming HIV positive by age 55.13 As of June 2001, nearly 64 percent of men with AIDS were men who have had sex with men. The Dutch researchers concluded, "this study offers evidence that homosexuality is associated with a higher prevalence of psychiatric disorders. The outcomes are in line with findings from earlier studies in which less rigorous designs have been employed."81 The researchers offered no opinion as to whether homosexual behavior causes psychiatric disorders, or whether it is the result of psychiatric disorders.preference means choice and since that means gays were not born that way, it is a mental disorder. Try consulting a psychiatrist and get factual information. Start with Dr. Robert Spitzer. The studies came from Homosexuality and Mental Health Problems By N.E. Whitehead, Ph.D. Why not try examining studies yourself, instead of gay propaganda. For those too lazy and sole bent on their lies, here is the portion on societies influence: It is well established that there are high rates of psychiatric illnesses, including depression, drug abuse, and suicide attempts, among gays and lesbians. This is true even in the Netherlands, where gay, lesbian and bisexual (GLB) relationships are far more socially acceptable than in the U.S. Depression and drug abuse are strongly associated with risky sexual practices that lead to serious medical problems. moreOpen Question: Simple Linear Regression and Correlation HELP!!!!?
This is my question: consider a simple regression in which the dependent variable MIM= mean income of males who are 18 yrs of age or older, in thousands of dollars. The explanatory variable PMHS= percent of males 18 or older who are graduates. The data consists of 51 observations on the 50 states plus the district of Columbia. Thus MIM and PMHS are 'state averages'. The estimated regression, along with the standard errors and t-statistics are: MIM= (alpha) + 0.180PMHS standard error = 2.174 b = 5.754 t = 1.257 a) what is the estimated equation intercept? b) what is the stand error of the slope? c) what is the p-value for the two-tail test of the hypothesis that the equation intercept is zero? d) construct a 99% confidence interval estimate of the slope of this relationship? California, the sunshine state, holds the number one place of any state in the union for the highest number of serial rapes and murders, sexual homicides, and child molestation committed by an illegal immigrant. According to an in depth study, conducted by Deborah Schurman-Kauflin, Ph.D. of the Violent Crimes Institute in Altanta, Georgia, California is closely followed by Texas, Arizona, New Jersey, New York, and Florida. Dr. Schurman-Kauflin's study included various sources including ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) reports, public records police reports, and media sources. This study done over a 12 month period, the only in depth study of its kind used a sample group of 1,500 cases out of a pool of roughly 12,000,000. What the study revealed was of all illegal immigrants apprehended in the United States a whopping two percent of them are sex offenders. This two percent figure translates into a staggering 240,000 illegal immigrant sex offenders to date. (Schurman-Kauflin) To make this point clear, 240,000 illegal immigrant sex offenders that law enforcement is aware of which may pale in comparison to numbers released by The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children who puts the number of registered sex offenders around 716,000. (Markon, 2009) This means there are 12 serial sexual offenders and 93 sex offenders entering the United States every day, Monday through Friday. The 1,500 offenders in this study had a total of 5,999 victims. Each sex offender averages four victims. The report went on to say that these numbers place the estimated number of victims for duration of the 88 month study at 960,000. A greater number than the known offenders themselves. Or rather 960,000 people that didn't have to become victims in the first place. But, who are these faceless, nameless victims that are so easily dismissed as mere additions to the ever rising statistics? To elaborate in detail the nature of the attacks of the 1,500 cases or rather people singled out for study. Five hundred twenty-five or 35 percent were child molestations. The offenders choose victims who are easy to attack as children are more vulnerable. Victims ranged from 1 to 13 years old with the average age being six years old. Three hundred fifty-eight of the victims or 24 percent were rapes, one of the most violent and brutal crimes. In these cases, offenders were less likely to know their victims. In fact, only 64 percent of the victims knew their attackers. The next most likely victims were African American women. These women suffered brutal attacks. Most often, a weapon was used to control the victims. The victims suffered beatings while being raped over 70 percent of the time. Sixty-seven percent of the victims suffered sodomy during their attacks as well. Victims ranged in age from 16-79 and averaged an age of 23 years old. Three percent of all the rapes of innocent women were done by illegal immigrants who had earned the title of serial rapists. Each serial rapist averages five victims with the number of victims ranging from 2 to 11. Two serial rapists were confirmed HIV positive, and another offender had a type of sexually transmitted disease according to the study. This translates into at least four being exposed to HIV. It must also be pointed out that nearly all the offenders had prior records back home in Mexico. Only two percent of the offenders in this study have no history of criminal behavior beyond crossing the border illegally. Six hundred seventeen of the cases resulted in sexual homicides or serial murders. The most vicious and brutal of this category of crimes is the. six percent of the victims who were mutilated in addition to rape. This suggests that these crimes were committed by an angry, perpetrator personality. Their attacks are particularly brutal and the attacker uses a hands-on method of controlling and/or killing their victims. Caucasian females were the number one target. Hispanics were second and African Americans were third. Victims ranged in age from 16-81. This is for a story I already turned in, but I may still have time to change it. I want to use statistics which said a clinic had grown from serving 2,500 patients to "over 20,000 patients" in an eye catching and accurate description. I said it was "an almost 1000 percent increase". The answers I got from Yahoo! users when using the numbers 20,000 and 2,000 said both 1000 percent and 900 percent. I should have been more accurate in my description, because if you first need to subtract 2,500 from 20,000 and then figure out that percent, you may be looking at something under 800 percent. If I'm getting that low, I may have to ask to change that description because we're getting too far away from 1000 percent. I don't know if I should first subtract 2500 from whatever "over 20,000" represents, say it's 21,000, and then find a percent or just look at whatever percent 2,500 is of 21,000. I'm a math idiot and want to be accurate while expressing that this is quite a change. moreOpen Question: forty four percent of customers (statistics)?

AP Impact: US-Mexico border isn't so dangerous MEXICO CITY (AP) -- It's one of the safest parts of America, and it's getting safer. It's the U.S.-Mexico border, and even as politicians say more federal troops are needed to fight rising violence, government data obtained by The Associated Press show it actually isn't so dangerous after all. The top four big cities in America with the lowest rates of violent crime are all in border states: San Diego, Phoenix, El Paso and Austin, according to a new FBI report. And an in-house Customs and Border Protection report shows that Border Patrol agents face far less danger than street cops in most U.S. cities. The Customs and Border Protection study, obtained with a Freedom of Information Act request, shows 3 percent of Border Patrol agents and officers were assaulted last year, mostly when assailants threw rocks at them. That compares with 11 percent of police officers and sheriff's deputies assaulted during the same period, usually with guns or knives. In addition, violent attacks against agents declined in 2009 along most of the border for the first time in seven years. So far this year assaults are slightly up, but data is incomplete. Even Nobel Prize winning economist Paul Krugman is worried about a double-dip recession. Recently, in a New York Times Op-Ed column, Krugman said, “…it will be important to remember, first of all, that blips — occasional good numbers, signifying nothing — are common even when the economy is, in fact, mired in a prolonged slump.” Krugman thinks there is a “30 to 40 percent” chance of a double-dip recession. The Nobel Prize winner also thinks the economy will run out of gas by the middle of 2010 and, if that happens, he will surely want more spending or stimulus. To me, that really means more money printing to continue the bailout for the rich. Krugman is not alone in his fear of a double-dip recession. Economist John Williams of Shadow Government Statistics is also talking about a double-dip in a recent commentary. Unlike Krugman, Williams says, another nasty downturn is practically unavoidable. In essence, his analysis is showing a nose dive in what he calls the “real money supply.” A contracting money supply almost always precedes economic downturns. Williams, like Krugman, also thinks that the double-dip will be “obvious by mid 2010.” Williams paints a much direr picture of the coming economy than Krugman. He says that the “tumbling real money supply promises an intensified depression.” moreResolved Question: If crime rates are down in Arizona, why do Republicans insists in saying that the new law SB1070 was needed?
Are they lying to the American people about crime stats just to pass a law? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Crime Rates Down in Arizona Here's some good news for Valley residents, but possibly some bad news for Phoenix criminal lawyers According to ABC News, federal statistics show that crime is decreasing in most valley cities and across the United States. The recently released 2009 statistics show the crime rates for all the various types of crimes. Valley cities in particular have seen a large drop in the number of murder crimes and the number of robbery crimes. Arson is the only crime category that saw an increase in several cities, including cities of Gilbert, Glendale, Mesa, and Tempe. Some individual cities have seen a slight increase with other types of crime as well. Phoenix saw an eight percent increase in rapes, according to the statistics. The city of Tempe saw a slight increase in rape crimes and aggravated assault crimes. What's the reason for the overall decrease in crime? Some peace officers say that this decrease comes from the crackdown on minor crimes as well as efforts to establish joint partnerships of law enforcement throughout the Valley. Law enforcers are also heavily encouraging residents to report crimes, which would mean that the rate of crime would increase. Hence, this effort can skew the FBI statistics. Crime victims often help prosecutors through testimony in a criminal case, but suspects still always have the right to a Phoenix criminal defense attorney. A defense attorney typically helps with representation, negotiations, and developing a defense strategy. A list of local attorneys can be found through FindLaw's directory. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS), the violent crime rate in Arizona was lower in 2006, 2007, and 2008 -- the most recent year from which data are available -- than any year since 1983. The property crime rate in Arizona was lower in 2006, 2007, and 2008 than any year since 1968. In addition, in Arizona, the violent crime rate dropped from 577.9 per 100,000 population in 1998 to 447 per 100,000 population in 2008; the property crime rate dropped from 5,997 to 4,291 during the same period. During the same decade, Arizona's undocumented immigrant population grew rapidly. The Arizona Republic reported: "Between January 2000 and January 2008, Arizona's undocumented population grew 70 percent, according to the DHS [Department of Homeland Security] report. Nationally, it grew 37 percent." Crime rates have dropped during past decade in other border states. The BJS data further show that violent crime rates and property crime rates in California, New Mexico, and Texas dropped from 1998 through 2008 -- the most recent year from which data are available: •In California, the violent crime rate dropped from 703.7 in 1998 to 503.8 in 2008; the property crime rate dropped from 3,639.1 to 2,940.3 during the same period. •In New Mexico, the violent crime rate dropped from 961.4 in 1998 to 649.9 in 2008; the property crime rate dropped from 5,757.7 to 3,909.2 over the same period. •In Texas, the violent crime rate dropped from 564.6 in 1998 to 507.9 in 2008; the property crime rate dropped from 4,547 to 3,985.6 over the same period. http://mediamatters.org/research/201004290029 moreVoting Question: What percent of small businesses owe back taxex for previous years?

Homosexuals Molest Children At A Far Higher Rate Than Heterosexuals Homosexuals account for only 1-2% of our population based on current surveys. The National Opinion Research Center in 1992 found that 2.8% of men and 1.4% of women identified themselves as “homosexual” or “bisexual. A 1995 survey of 18-49-year-old men published by the Journal of Sex Research indicated that 2.6% of them had engaged in homosexual sex within the prior 12 months; 4% had had homosexual sex within the past five years. In other words, at least 98-99% of our population is heterosexual in orientation. Homosexual activists routinely claim that most child molesters are “heterosexual” males, thus shifting the focus away from their own very high rates of molestation. Since 98-99% of the population is heterosexual, it is technically correct to say that most molestations are done by heterosexuals. However, statistics indicate that homosexuals pose a far more serious threat to children than do heterosexuals. For example: In 1987, Dr. Stephen Rubin of Whitman College conducted a ten-state study of sex abuse cases involving school teachers. He studied 199 cases. Of those, 122 male teachers had molested girls, while 14 female teachers had molested boys. He also discovered that 59 homosexual male teachers had molested boys and four female homosexual teachers had molested girls. In other words, 32 percent of those child molestation cases involved homosexuals. Shouldn’t we be seeking the guidance and wisdom of a higher power, if for no other reason, in the past that’s what seemed to work? http://www.divorcemag.com/statistics/statsus.shtml http://www.unmarried.org/statistics.html http://www.biblenews1.com/marriage/marriags.htmsheloves_dablues “women were dependent on men for their financial security. They had shitty marriages that they were powerless to get out of.” So you’re saying these women were “helpless”? Do you have grandparents who are still married? I did to the end and believe me it had nothing to do with $$$$! Are women better off now? More women live unhappily unmarried then ever before, look at the amount of dating sites! More women live unhappily settled in loveless marriages. AND more men CHEAT with women who ARE NOT corporate/career women (Tiger Woods, Morgan Freeman, hell even Brad Pitt wanted a woman who would pop out a million kids and or adopt them, Sandra Bullocks husband, Halle Berry’s ex-hubby Eric Bennett, etc, etc) my point is that the church and or Bible has A LOT to do with it! Marriage was not man made #1, #2 the more we stray from what the ideal marriage that is explained in the Bible, the higher the divorce rate is… you don’t have to “believe” but numbers don’t lie! moreResolved Question: Is America's state of backwardness caused by ...?

From Energy Tribune: Finding evidence to support Smil’s claim is all too easy. A 2007 study by Michigan State University determined that just 28 percent of American adults could be considered scientifically literate. In February, the California Academy of Sciences released the findings of a survey which found that most Americans couldn’t pass a basic scientific literacy test. The findings: * Just 53% of adults knew how long it takes for the Earth to revolve around the Sun. * Just 59% knew that the earliest humans did not live at the same time as dinosaurs. * Only 47% of adults could provide a rough estimate of the percent of the Earth's surface that is covered with water. (The Academy decided that the correct answer range for this question was anything between 65% and 75%.) * A mere 21% were able to answer those three questions correctly. NEW YORK (WOMENSENEWS)--At 25, pushing her 22-month-old son Diego through Brooklyn's sweltering summer streets, Maricela Estrada says she is not planning on any more children. Along with Diego, peeking out from the stroller, the soft-spoken woman, who became a mother at 20, has two other children, ages 4 and 5, at home with her husband of seven years. "For me, it's not bad to have children as a young person," Estrada said in Spanish near her Brooklyn home. Estrada's story is part of the eye-catching fertility statistics among Hispanic American women, who, on average, begin families earlier, have fewer abortions and, in their younger years, produce almost twice as many babies as other groups: 82 births per 1,000 among females aged 15 to 19, compared with the national average of 42 per 1,000. National teen pregnancy rates have declined about 35 percent since 1991, but the rate for Hispanic teens is dropping at half that pace, according to a March report by the Washington-based National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, which has a goal of reducing teen pregnancy by one-third between 2006 and 2015. In the medley of explanations for the sluggish decline, the lack of education about sex and birth control--both in schools and in families--deserves special attention, said Rosie Molinary, author of the 2007 "Hijas Americanas: Beauty, Body Image and Growing Up Latina," which she wrote after surveying 500 Latina women on issues including sexuality. 'Conversations Don't Happen' "Those conversations don't happen," Molinary says. "These girls are in a vulnerable situation." The National Campaign launched a Latino initiative in March that highlights a startling figure: 51 percent of Latina women are pregnant at least once by age 20. The program includes partners such as the New York-based Latina magazine and the Washington-based National Council of La Raza. Bill Albert, deputy director of the National Campaign, said the first step of the Latino initiative was the release of research findings and beginning to work with partners such as La Raza--which works with Hispanic families--to ensure they include teen pregnancy prevention in existing programs. "It is very clear from Latina teens that they really want to hear from their parents on these issues, but parents don't necessarily believe that," Albert said. http://www.womensenews.org/story/reproductive-health/070821/latina-teen-pregnancies-spur-push-family-talks moreResolved Question: Why are Arizona Politicians lying about illegal immigrant crime statistics to get immigration laws passed?
Does this sound fair to you? Is this how they've been able to get away with all the racial profiling going on in Arizona with their Sheriff Joe Arpaio? ================================ Arizona politician caught in lies about illegal immigrant crime Group, law enforcement challenge immigrant crime numbers Carrie Watters The Arizona Republic May. 22, 2006 07:02 PM http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/0522illegalscrim... Rep. Russell Pearce is among the state's hard-liners on immigration, but one group is accusing him of fear-mongering with crime statistics that don't add up. The Arizona Interfaith Network held a news conference at the state Capitol Monday to challenge Pearce's comments that link illegal immigrants with crimes ranging from homicide to child molestation. Some in law enforcement agree that stats to back up the rhetoric just are not available. Pearce has cited estimates that 80 percent of violent crimes involve illegal aliens. He told The Republic that ballpark figure came from former Phoenix Police Chief Harold Hurtt, now in Houston, and that he'd challenge the ex-chief to a polygraph test if needed. Hurtt could not be reached for comment, but Phoenix Police Sgt. Lauri Williams called the figure "ridiculous" and said Hurtt denies giving it. <snip> Richard White, president of the organization, called Pearce's rhetoric a smear campaign against "a whole people that tends to create division and fear." The purpose is to advance a political agenda of hard-line immigration reforms by instilling fear in the public and pressure among lawmakers to act, White said. "I hope the public will recognize the song and dance for what it is," he said. <snip> Pearce also was called on a statistic that 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide in Los Angeles target illegal aliens. But, officers at the LA police department and sheriff's office say they aren't sure how that fact was deduced. "I don't know where those come from," said Lt. Paul Vernon, who handles public information with the LAPD. Much like in Phoenix, officers do not check immigration status. Neither LA nor Phoenix police departments track the number of illegal immigrants involved in crimes, officials said. The statistic appears to have originated with Heather MacDonald, who is listed as a scholar with the Manhattan Institute in New York. MacDonald could not be reached for comment on Monday. moreResolved Question: Please help with a Statistics question?

MEXICO CITY – It's one of the safest parts of America, and it's getting safer. "The border is safer now than it's ever been," said U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman Lloyd Easterling. He said one factor is that with fewer jobs available amid the U.S. recession, illegal immigration has dropped. And responding to security concerns after 9-11, the Border Patrol has doubled the number of agents in the region since 2004. Nonetheless, border lawmakers and governors say their region is under siege and needs more troops. "Violence in the vicinity of the U.S.-Mexico border continues to increase at an alarming rate. We believe that this violence represents a serious threat to the national security of the United States as well as a serious threat to U.S. citizens that live along the 1,969-mile long border," a dozen bipartisan members of Congress from border states wrote President Obama. In Arizona, a stringent new immigration law takes effect next month, requiring police to question suspects' immigration status if officers believe they're in the country illegally. Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer said in a televised interview last weekend: "We are out here on the battlefield getting the impact of all this illegal immigration, and all the crime that comes with it." In response to the concerns from the border states, Obama pledged to send 1,200 National Guard troops to help and spend an extra $500 million on border security. His one-time rival for the presidency, Arizona Sen. John McCain, said he should send at least 6,000 troops, which are needed because he said Arizona leads the nation in marijuana seizures, suffered 368 kidnappings in 2008 and has the highest property crime rates in the U.S. But FBI crime reports for 2009 says violent crime in Arizona declined. And violent crimes in southwest border counties are among the lowest in the nation per capita — they've dropped by more than 30 percent in the last two decades. Of America's 25 largest cities, San Diego — with one out of four residents an immigrant — has the lowest number of violent crimes per capita. Opponents of increased border security are frustrated by descriptions of a wave of violence when the statistics show the region to be relatively safe. "Politicians are hyping up this incredible fear across the country about the border, but these numbers show these are lies being perpetrated on the American public," said immigrant advocate Isabel Garcia at Tucson-based Derechos Humanos. "The warnings about violence are just an excuse to crack down on migrants who want to work and be with their families." Even residents of the border region who want more security are surprised by the talk of violence. "I have to say, a lot of this is way overblown," said Gary Brasher of Tuboc, Arizona, who is president of the Coalition for a Safe and Secure Border. So why send troops to the region? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100603/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/lt_mexico_us_safer_border moreResolved Question: Question for African Americans: Should we do away with statistics?
I will try to be as brief as possible. I typed in the Google search engine "African American statistics" and much to my dismay, every single statistic I came across was either catastrophically high or horrifyingly low depending on the statistical study in question: 50% obesity rate among African American women and 37% among African American men. 66% divorce rate; 68% fatherlessness higher infant mortality rates among African-American infants 8.5% dropout rate among African-Americans African-Americans make up 14 percent of the U.S. population but account for about 40 percent of all arrests, 50 percent of the prison population, I think you get the point, everything is higher among African Americans or lower depending on the category, such as "educational attainment" for example. Granted, African Americans are facing a multitude of problems and denying that such problems exist only exacerbates them. However, my question is: do these statistics reflect reality? Because if these statistics are true, Black America is on the verge of implosion. In France, statistics based on race, ethnicity, religion etc, are forbidden by law, meaning that it's impossible to know how many Blacks are unemployed, incarcerated, overweight, divorced etc. Granted, France has its reasons, as long as there's no statistical data, problems of institutional racism and employment discrimination can be be denied and swept under the rug. Personally, I don't mind statistics but I cannot tolerate biased statistics. The image of AAs in the US is horrible, not just because of media stereotypes and negative media portrayals of AAs but also because of these alarmingly high statistics. I mean, the African American has become a statistic. As soon as you type "AA" in the Google search engine, you are bombarded with statistics: 70% of AA women single, " Higher HIV infection rates were found among African-Americans". It's always higher, everything found among AAs is always higher lol. Who is putting this info out there? moreResolved Question: Increase of Christians in Japan in the near future?

Like if i physically am not attracted to black men and don't want to date them due to stereotypes based on how the majority of black men act.. is it wrong of me to not date them? of course i don't go around saying this.. no one knows this except my parents.. and i never tell the guys im dating that i have a preference for their race instead of black men.. I just kind of worry about my future children cause i am 99 percent certain they will be only half black and what if happen to have a daughter and she is attracted to black men and brings one home? who do i say you cant date him cause he is black? i will teach them to love everyone but i am very strongly against dating black men and if my children brought one home i do not know what i will do. I work in a clothing store and majority of black women who get pregnant with black men are alone single with kids and also majority of black men that are involved with their kids are with white women. I also noticed that when black women is with any other race but a black men the men seem to be involved with their kids.. and i don't want my future children to be one of the many statistics who end up alone with kids like many black women who date black men. If you were in a similar situation as me what would you say to your kids? to not date a man of your race? and how would my future (non black) husband react if i say that i don't want our kid to date a black man? i know i am thinking way ahead but I am reaching the age where you start to think about kids and who your going to marry so this just came into my head. .My mom knows this i mean.. my dad was the typical black man who was not involved in their kids life. Personally i think my dad would know exacally why i want to date a non black man.. so he should not be shocked.well i never pictured myself with a black man either.. so it seems very odd to me to be with one or relate to one.Pigeon you are so wrong, my dad is the opposite to the typical "thug" black man, he is educated, has a good job but he STILL acts like the typical black man, he does not take care of his kids, etc etcmy mom said she was very decieved by my dad and she thought he was different from black guys cause my dad was educated and was not a thug but she was wrong.. she also said the best thing to do is stay away from black guys so that is exacally what im doing. Of course we dont say this out loud but this is the truth most of the time.. Why do you think most black women who date black men are single?because they are waiting for a "good" black men not the typical thug but even the good ones are like the typical black men. While political party affiliation in the US is not a perfect indicator of religiosity, it is no secret that the "red (Republican) states" are primarily red due to the overwhelming political influence of conservative Christians. If there were a strong correlation between Christian conservatism and societal health, we might expect to see some sign of it in red-state America. We don't. Of the 25 cities with the lowest rates of violent crime, 62% are "blue (Democrat)" states, and 38 percent are in "red (Republican)" states. Of the 25 most dangerous cities, 76% are in red states, and 24 in blue states. In fact, 3 of the 5 most dangerous cities in the US, are in the pious state of Texas. The 12 states with the highest rates of burglary are red. 24 of the 29 states with the highest rates of theft are red. Of the 22 states with the highest rates or murder, 17 are red. Correlational evidence is never conclusive, but the previous data, is nevertheless striking. Systematic research if anything tends to support such correlational data. *Information taken from "Letter to a Christian Nation" by Sam Harris*Byron: Gregory S. Paul, in the Journal of Religion and Society (2005), systematically compared seventeen economically developed nations, and reached the devastating conclusion that "higher rates of belief in and worship of a creator correlate with higher rates of homicide, juvenile and early mortality, STD infection rates, teen pregnancy and abortion in the prosperous democracies". moreVoting Question: How many billions could be saved by legalizing drugs, Dutch politicians know?
Ending drug prohibition: the ultimate austerity measure Published: 19 May 2010 14:07 | Changed: 19 May 2010 16:52 The ban on recreational drugs promotes crime and is bad for public health. By Frits Bolkestein c.s. * Archive - Tourists no longer welcome in cannabis-selling coffee shops * Archive - Dutch message to drug tourists: c'est fini * News - European court weighs cannabis ban for foreigners Austerity measures to cut public spending are a hot topic for debate everywhere in Europe. In the Netherlands, where a new parliament will be elected next month, several proposals to reduce spending by 30 billion euros are on the table. All of these proposals hit where it hurts, but one option could actually be a welcome relief: drug regulation. By 'regulation', we mean: permitting the production and sale of drugs under strict conditions designed to minimise use, while making it as safe as possible. Regulation, however, remains a colossal taboo, even in the Netherlands. And in spite of the Dutch cabinet's pledge that no subject would be taboo in its review of potential austerity measures, a government committee charged with studying possible cutbacks in the security sphere has barely dared broach the subject. It has only considered further regulating the less harmful drugs, marijuana and hashish, which could – under certain assumptions - save 183 million euros now spent on law enforcement and other government efforts, and generate 260 million in taxes. The committee said nothing of other drugs. Recreational drugs were made illegal in the Netherlands 40 years ago. But they are used more frequently than ever, and there are no indications whatsoever that prohibition is effective. It is absolutely certain, though, that prohibition is causing extensive damage, the extent of which has barely registered with the public. At least half of all crime in this country is caused by drugs, either directly or indirectly. Recent data from the Dutch justice department show that 27 to 33 percent of all years spent in incarceration are the result of violations of the law banning recreational drugs. In 2006, three quarters of the more than 300 investigations of organised crime focused on the production of, or trade in, drugs. These statistics are limited to direct violations of Dutch drug laws and pertain to dealers and drug runners, frequent offenders, the cultivation of marijuana in homes and sheds, drug mules, ecstasy labs and export and import. Indirect crimes come on top of that: bribery, threats, corruption, money laundering and the subsequent tainting of legitimate industries like real estate, retaliatory violence between drug gangs, the use of drug money to finance the illegal arms trade. And let's not even begin to mention the international consequences, which include the disruption of entire countries. These facts, unheard of in both senses of the word, are absent in the drug debate, as they are, just as surprisingly, in the security debate. Everyone worried about security would do well to consider an alternative to the current ban on recreational drugs. Amazingly enough, though, prohibition's biggest proponents are avid crime fighters. Can't they see they are effectively serving as key support to the drug mob? Could things be better? Certainly, and that is a proven fact. The 30-year Dutch experiment of selling marijuana in so-called coffee shops is unique. Regulation of this drug has not lead to increased use of marijuana or other drugs. The use of, and addiction to, all types of recreational drugs in the Netherlands lie near or below the European average, and far below the levels common in repressive countries like France, England or the US. Coffee shops have also ensured that hundreds of thousands of cannabis consumers have never acquired criminal records, or seen their driver's licenses revoked, as is common practice elsewhere. This proves prohibition is unnecessary. We can do without this unusual measure introduced to protect citizens against themselves – quite the anomaly in criminal law. Regulation works. Drug crime can be prevented. Any problems caused by regulation pale in comparison to the advantages this incredible breakthrough would offer. Take coffee shops, for instance, which have caused trouble in Dutch border areas. The city of Venlo has effectively solved these problems by moving some coffee shops to the outskirts of town, close to the German border. To draw coffee shops out of the criminal sphere entirely, the cultivation of marijuana needs to be regulated. Dutch municipalities can't wait to do so. The Dutch parliament has twice accepted a motion along these lines. As far as other drugs are concerned, pilot regulation projects need to be set up, carefully but resolutely, for cocaine, XTC, amphetamines and heroine in particular. Proposals to that extent have already been drafted. Did people like Russell Pearce use these tactics to scare Americans and convince them to support the bill? ================================= Russell Pearce Spews Bogus Crime Stats on CNN; SB 1070 Twice in the show he insisted that "50 percent of the homicides committed in Phoenix are committed by illegal aliens." Where does Pearce get this number? The Phoenix Police Department's crime stats list 168 murders as occurring in 2008. About 52 percent have been labeled "cleared," while the remainder are unsolved. So how would Pearce know that illegal aliens committed half of Phoenix's homicides, when about half of the homicides committed in Phoenix have not been cleared? Neither the Phoenix PD's crime stats nor the FBI's crime stats publish anything to do with the immigration status of perpetrators. And yet, Pearce utters his shibboleths with impunity, even on national TV. http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/bastard/2010/04/russell_pearce_spews_bogus_cri.php#@ Zsleep, please give us that mysterious link. Conclusive studies show between 10% and 16% of the general population are victims of paternity deceit. Currently more than 300,000 such tests are done each year. Since it is unlikely that these paternity tests were done without an underlying reason, almost certainly involving payment of child support, there are thus over 90,000 men who have been falsely accused of paternity each year. more
