Open Question: Don't you think telling adolescents that using condoms is "protected" sex potentially harmful for them?

I mean in the sense that: 1) It gives them the impression that they are 100% protected from most STDs and pregnancy? I am looking to become a commercial airline pilot, but i do not have the funds required to cover the training costs. i want to avoid getting a loan from the bank because of the high interest rates. i have looked almost everywhere on the internet looking for a commercial airline that offers a pilot sponsorship that pays for all the training and in return i work for them for a certain amount of years, slowly paying them back. Open Question: Phone is not working... still!?

This is an unresolved question that I posted yesterday, but since the thread died, I decided it was necessary to make a new one. So sorry about the sort of repost. At any rate, I have two phones - both Panasonic handsets, no wires. One of them is connected to the master base, the other has its own portable charging station. If the master base is unplugged, neither phone will work. My DSL/Wireless Internet, phone and cable providers are one in the same - Time Warner Cable. The internet and cable are working perfectly, however, two days ago, the phone dropped a dial tone and went off the map. We have that nifty little "someone is calling you, so we'll flash it on your TV" feature, so we know when someone is calling, but the phone does not ring. I have called our home phone from my cell phone only to get a never-ending ring - which is caused by a never-made connection, I am told. We have unplugged wires to no avail. If there is anyone that can give me an intelligent response to this, I would be much appreciated! If you need more information, feel free to ask. more

I currently have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop that is in need of a new hard drive, battery, power cord, and possibly a power port. All of which I can get for about $100 on ebay new with warranties. However, I'd like a new laptop since I can't play games on it. I am tired of Dell because they start falling apart a year after you own them. I am very interested in Asus, and possibly Acer. Toshiba is okay, and maybe Sony. Please no Compaq, HP, Dell, or poorly rated no-names. I need something to last me at least 2-3 years. I currently have a core 2 duo 2.4ghz processor, 4gb memory, and a 320gb hdd. I would like something a little faster, or equally as fast, but with a graphics card that will allow me to play newer games like Grand Ages Rome, Tomb Raider Legend, and Sims 3. I can't play any of them now because I don't have a 3D card that supports DirectX 10. I also want windows 7, and I need to have a DVD+/-RW drive, I don't care about bluray. I also don't care about having a 3D screen and glasses, but would like a nice screen that won't lag. I do not play WOW, or any other "major games." Battery life is nice, but I know Asus kind of sucks in that area. My needs for this laptop are for the games I listed above, listening to music, browsing the net, and doing online classes. It would be an awesome plus if it includes Office 2007 or newer, but I can buy that later. So all of that for under $1000, I'd really like to stay under $800, but I can go to $1000. Any suggestions? Also, if you can find all that in a desktop for under $800 (excluding the monitor) I'd be okay with that too. Either way both my computers are outdated, my desktop is 5 years old and can do the internet thing and play the Sims 2, but has some issues. There's a fansite for Toontown online called Toontask.com. It was created in 2004 and has been active ever since. But the thing is, lately it's been REALLY inactive. Before I went on hiatus from it for a while, the average number of people online everyday would be at least 150 (the record for people online at once is 2,464 O: ). When I came back, the average for people online everyday decreased to at least 20. This inactivity in the forum has been pointed out, and the members whom are still active are discussing some ideas to get more, ACTIVE AND DEDICATED members. Not just someone who joins and doesn't stick around. And it's a G-rated site, so idk if promoting it on places like Facebook is a good idea. We're thinking that the economy has to do with the loss of members. As in: Fansite for Toontown > Toontown costs money > Bad economy > loss of money > can't pay for Toontown > can't pay for internet, etc. But we can never know for sure... Open Question: IS MY BABY GETTING ENOUGH FORMULA??!!!?

Well... I have been reading many posts on the internet about how much formula others' babies eat per day, and that kept me wondering if my baby is eating enough after all and if she is within the “normal” range! My DD is 7 weeks old, and since she hit 1 month she’s always wanted only 2.5-3 oz every 2-3 hours during the day, sometimes can go to 4 hours. Occasionally, though, she might want 4-5 oz (but that happened only 2 or 3 times since last month!) and she sleeps 5-6 hours/night (total bottles she has during the day is 6-7 bottles) On the other hand, she was born little (6 lbs even) BUT during each appointment she is always gaining weight on a GOOD rate, and she wets 6-7 diapers/day and only 1 dirty diaper which is her normal. Her pedi. doesn’t seem concerned at all, she said as long as she is wetting enough diapers, sleeping good at night, gaining weight at a good rate... so she is perfectly fine! BUT when I read such posts in here, always keep me wondering if she REALLY gets enough formula comparing to other babies in her age/weight (she weighed 8.8 lbs on her last 6 weeks old appt.) .. OH, sometimes I try to “push” her to take more, but she ends up vomiting! :-/ more

Voting Question: Trojian virus, help me!?

Okay so , when my mother was on the computer , a convenient message popped up from Rodgers . It said that they were going to cut off our internet in the next 48 hours unless we do not get rid of a virus that can be harmful to other users, and to install they're Rodgers Online Protection. Unfortunately , my mother doesn't know a lot about computers . So she didn't know how to print out the note, that is all she told me it said . I downloaded the Rodgers online protection, and did a scan. I noticed that it was taking forever, so I decided to do a Spybot check to see what this virus is. So freaking out , I do a Spybot check to see what this virus is . I find out that it is 2 trojian viruses from "MyWebSearch" I honestly have no idea what MyWebSearch is in the first place, so I have no idea how 2 trojians got onto my computer. I tried to get Spybot to delete the trojians. But it couldn't. So I tried to get another free virus scanner that would delete these trojians, I came across "Spyware Terminator" It had a very good rating , so I figured I would install it and see what it did . It found a lot of viruses, including the trojians. When I pressed the "clean up" button to delete the viruses. It said it worked, but when I went on Spybot again to do another scan just to make sure, it said the trojians were still there. HOW DO I GET RID OF THESE TROJIANS ?! Can I download anything that will be free ? (I'm not exactly the richest person, so I can't afford to download anything that costs money .) Also, will Rodgers actually shut off my internet if I don't get it fixed in the next 48 hours ?! HELP ME . I'm freaking out because I have no idea what to do . more

Voting Question: Internet speed issue?

My modem and ISP says that my max speeds are 1,300Kb/s down and 300kb/s up and has been confirmed by 3 speed test websites. However, I never ever get near those speeds when i'm downloading. My true max speed is around 150-180KB/s, i have never had ANY download go past the 190kb/s mark. Youtube videos go down at a reported (according to the video report feature) 500kb/s average, so if my max speed is 1,300KB/s, how come i cant stream a video in HD. 480p is like the highest res that downloads at a watchable rate. When I download a torrent for a game like Combat arms or perfect world, my max is 170kb/s with an up off 30kb/s max ( I checked the settings and set them to like infinite speed limits). These speeds are also the same whether or not i'm using a router or being directly connected to my modem. more

I checked my internet speed and it is running at the normal 15 Mbps. I can also download files at normal rates. The thing is, when I try to visit a web site, no matter what it is, it is taking on average 0.15 seconds to load. Why? Open Question: How do I handle a noisy neighbor?

I bought my home two years ago and recently, the owner two doors down has begun blasting really loud music from his garage during various times of the day and evening. I have called Chicago police multiple times, however in addition to taking a minimum of several hours to show up, they have told me that there is no noise ordinance in the city of Chicago and that there is really nothing that I can do. I have spoken to police supervisors and expressed my willingness to sign complaints, however...nothing. Talking to him [homeowner] is not an option as he obviously is not a reasonable person who thinks logically. At any rate, one thing I do know for sure is that there are certain types of people who just cannot be reasoned with. I asked other neighbors if the noise bothered them or if I was the only one. They all either responded with "the shrug", or they just say that they ignore it. I am beyond frustrated and have attended the local Community Policing meetings to address the issue with officers there, but...I think that it would be better to just put my newly purchased house back on the market. I have researched this topic for months on the internet, however it all turns up the same. I will not entertain suggestions that I blast music from my home/garage to give him a dose of his own medicine, as I am a firm believer in Proverbs 26:4.
