Open Question: Montgomery Ward originated Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer for advertising purposes, who created Rudolph?
There is a story circulating about a man named Bob May whose wife dies and he created the story about Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer as a story for their 4 year old daughter, Barbara. Montgomery Ward picked up on the story and used Rudolph in their ad campaigns at Christmas time for many, many years. Gene Autrey sang the song and so on to Fame. What is the back story to Rudolph? I always thought it was just a cute ad campaign that was very successful. I've looked with little success for Bob May on the internet. Anyone give a link or reference for the true facts about Rudolph? moreResolved Question: Why is my internet connection not performing as advertised?
Today, I upgraded my internet connection through dsl to the advertised 10Mbps speed, the tech came today obviously did something because my speed did go up but its only clocking at around 2.1 Mbps, which obviously means something is wrong because, the only two speeds advertised are 1.5 and 10. The fact that its a good bit over 1.5 indicates that somethings wrong. Anyone know anything that could help? moreVoting Question: Enrolling in an MBA program: is my career (so far) an obstacle ?
Hi everyone, I've been working for almost seven years as an international finance controller in two major multinational French companies in Paris, one in outdoor advertising and one in pharmaceutical softwares and today I want to operate a major professional change with a double objective in mind: enter the entertainment industry and ideally come work in the US. I've looked around on the internet and I found some very good MBA specialized in entertainment ( more specifically UCLA, USC, NYU and Columbia). As every student applying for these kind of schools, I'm wondering what my chances are to be accepted in these programs ? One of my main concerns is the fact that I have NO experience at all in the entertainment industry so I was wondering if this was an obstacle to enter these types of MBA programs ? Thanks in advance for your answer, I really appreciate your help. Clément moreVoting Question: What do you think of my persuasive argument writing piece?
It's supposed to be a feature article.. i think it sucks ...and i think my english teacher is going to despise it too. here it is:Stop Commercialism now How many times have you surfed on the internet and not found yourself to come across many ads that have popped up on the page you were on or are on? Many advertisers are profiting from what reels us in, which are these many ads you hear or see on the TV, radio, internet, etc. All in all, it’s a two-sided affair. Say you are just checking your email and you see a thousand emails. Possibly, half of those are spam from those penny-pinchers out to get you and your money. So what should you do about this? Well, you have one of two options being the check all and delete button or moving all that unnecessary junk to the spam folder where it belongs and needs to stay. Commercialism is vastly becoming a problem not a success as many assume it to be. Studies show that 67% of teens buy items online and 37% of children do. Commercialism attacks the adolescent ages because they figure we are susceptible to any commerce that they are willing to throw at us. Also, many individuals assume this to be a more convenient way of purchasing anything and it being a faster way. That may be, but how do you know you are actually getting what you paid for? You’re wasting your precious time behind a glass screen. Purchase the more effective way, by going out into stores and getting what you need. Many politicians use commerce for their campaigns. You know those TV ads that always contradict that you need to vote for so and so for president instead of the other guy because he did whatever? This is a way of a scam to get money out of your pockets and into their hands. These ads are the ones that are appealing to hear or see, just an easier way to pull you in. Commercialism also costs too much money. Most of which is probably our tax dollars. The price goes up for a product if realized that it makes a certain individual sustain a cool image by using it or buying it. Many of these can be misleading, so any time you are gullible to believe one you are giving away money that could be used for something more important. Advertising takes up a lot of one’s time. We only have one life to live right? The average American spends at least 60 minutes reading, hearing or even watching ads on the television, radio, in magazines, etc. By the time that person comes of old age, 4 years of their life will be basically deducted away from under their feet. Some say that we are immune, too smart, and too savvy to fall for such. If so were true, we wouldn’t know so much of certain brand names, dress a certain way, buy the foods we eat, and our lives wouldn’t mirror the ads around us. In addition to that, we wouldn’t need pop-up blockers, virus protection programs, and firewalls to save us from all this commerce. So ask yourself this, are we really immune to what we see on the TV, hear on the radio, etc? If we really were, we wouldn’t feel the vanity of using these things to get a better self-image to fit in with the way society portrays us to be, which is all the same. It’s kind of a win-win situation at its best, honestly and ironically enough. On the contrary, you are helping yourself out somewhat the same way you are helping out these phony ads. Sure ads can help us out by providing vital information to us consumers, but there is way too much that we are exposed to. Ads can hide the fact of caring for each other, the environment, and the community. Many ads give off a bad message to viewers. Such as smoking meaning you are different in a good way than everyone else, you’re only cool if you drive a pricey car, and also making us think that you have to be mature to drink. These messages can cause conflict in families because they could or can influence the way a person in that family thinks. This could cause friction because of the choices that family member made due to the advertisement. In that case, who’s to blame here? It all depends on the situation. To blame for 90% of it would be the advertisement because it provoked them to make such a decision and the other 10% being lack of poor judgment and self-esteem that was made better by the advertisement. So for all this in mind, why do we really need commercialism anywhere? To pay the bills, to help finances, to help make it an easier, better, more convenient way to make purchases? All it does is cause problems. What does it really help? You’re not really earning anything but helping the advertiser earn your trust and money. So next time you fall for one of these, think of all the consequences that won’t cushion your fall. Whenever you see a pop-up that pops up on your screen, click the x button at the top right, whenever you see any junk email click the delete all button, whenever you hear an ad on the TV, radio, or any electronic device turn it off and read a book not a magazine, instead. You can do many things to avo moreResolved Question: What Do You Think BLACKbusterCritic On Youtube Fell For That Will Make Him Feel Like An Idiot?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NF-vtYbvCs He made a video about me. I can see some of his points about me, but however I gotta say I did not consider suicide, I was against it. I did not consider it BBC. I actually found your video entertaining. Even though I gotta say this I did not consider suicide, I was against it from the start. So your a bit off there. I do want a girlfriend, but its how I feel (I am eying three girls right now, well actually two because one has a boyfriend). However why am I being judged for only me wanting a girlfriend? Also about my voice, it usually is because of the camera, it makes my voice high pitched... its only when I am using a video camera that this does happen, actually I do not know why this is. Oh and if I am so much of a Sonic and Inuyasha fag, then why is it that I my favorite game series is The Legend of Zelda. Calling me suicidal is preposterous and not true. OH and you also have been taunting me with your insults which is not funny. When you finish the video I will let you know something that will make you feel kinda stupid. You thought that video would upset me but it didn't... I am not gonna leave the internet, cause your video did not effect me... in fact I am watching it right now... and it is kinda entertaining once again... I have always wanted to have a video dedicated to me. Once again. Im gonna say this now when you find out something that I will explain after your videos are done... you will feel like a moron. Because its so funny, you pretty much told me all your thoughts about me... oh and this will be good, I totally can not wait for your other videos, because when theyre done I will reveal how you are the biggest moron on the internet... you will say... I totally fell for it (no it does not have to do with advertising, oh I can not wait until you feel like the biggest idiot on the web. You outta post your videos tomorrow and Sunday... this is gonna be ridiculously funny... What did you fall for that makes you the biggest idiot on the web???I do have ADHD, when I made those videos every time I showed a sign I redid the video... Reaper MAN!I love making mistakes... now I love it... thank you BBC for being an asshole... this guy is now making me a very happy camper... I love being hated... NICE!Well the person who said... you dont know how stupid you sound, epic fail... guess what... fuck you! moreResolved Question: Is Cash Gifting illegal? If so, is there any instance where it can work legally?
I've looked all over the internet and there are tons of websites that say it is legal, and tons of them that say it is illegal. I know you can send someone cash as a gift(up to $12,000 a year per person), and the IRS doesn't care how you make money as long as they get their taxes from it. So if a cash gifting company has a 1-up or 2-up, I'm assuming it is illegal due to the fact that there is no product you are selling when marketing and trying to find people, or that you are trying to get people to sign-up to send you money? If you had a cash gifting site and you did NOT advertise or try to recruit people to send you cash, wouldn't it be considered legal? Or if you had a product or products that people would get when they sent a cash gift would that work? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would just like to know what you would have to do to make a cash gifting program 100% legal? Thanks in advance. moreResolved Question: "Dollie Walsh". Who's "connected" with her on Yahoo?
Out of the blue, I received an email, apparently from a startlingly attractive woman, who I'd never met before even through others, who wanted to Connect with me on Yahoo. The email was from somebody called "Dollie Walsh" who completely out of the blue wanted to Connect and be my friend, The picture with the email showed an impossibly attractive woman, like Katie Price with more style and a sense of restraint, and I suppose the sensible thing to do would have been to delete the wretched thing without comment or reply. But no, I had to be clever, so I replied with "OK, excuse my cynicism here, but people who look like that generally don't need to make friends via the Internet. My AV is the best I can get and I have no fears of being hyped or scammed, so I look forward to the next move - who knows, Dollie might turn out to be a living breathing human (but one who has adopted a very flattering avatar, as I'm sure we all have done in one sense or another? ) in which case I welcome sombody who appears to appreciate my poor efforts on YahooAnswers!" Silly, as I'd just advertised the fact I had a live email address. So far nothing horrible's happened - I half-expect my email address to be bunged up with all sorts of $hit - but "Dollie" has replied to tell me how much she likes my avatar, my profile, my sense of humour, et c, and just coincidentally she'll be in "Manchester, England" this weekend if we want to meet... I sense one enormous scam here, esp. as her email contained links to a sex-dating site which I suspect might be a front for prostitution. So Muggins here turns up at the date, discovers the lady's clock has been running since six and I already owe her several hundred, I protest that was not part of the deal, then two large blokes loom up behind me to say "Oh yes it is!" ,and enforce payment... I also note "Dolly" has made 106 online friends, mainly male, so I wonder if anyone else's experience is the same as mine? Anyone willing to come out? BTW, I have Googled on the name "Dollie Walsh" and it appears, without exception, to belong to several ordinary ladies in their fifties and sixties living on the east coast USA, who live blameless, even exemplary, lives - as teachers, elderly care workers, social workers, et c - and I suspect it has been chosen/stolen because it projects that sort of "trust me" solidity and reliability. Nobody under seventy in Britain calls herself "Dolly", anyway. And both the genuine Dollty Walshes and the women on the prostitution site appear to be clustered in the North-Eastern USA, around Pensylvania and New England. How do I report this to Yahoo, as it stinks a mile high - something not right or proper is happening here. moreResolved Question: what is your oppinion on lip-syncing celebrities?
britney spears recently arriving in Australia for her "Circue tour" has sparked allot of contreversy about lip-syncing. It is a very questionable act, and among all, an ethical. people have paid allot of money to see their hero in the flesh, and they deserve a live show. I am so sick and tired of seeing FREE registry programs. You download the program, it scans the computer and comes up with this outrageous number of alleged errors and then you have to pay to have them fixed. Some actually fix maybe 20 errors, but nothing like they advertise. In fact, I dont know how they can advertise a free program that fixes registry errors, when it truly does not. False advertisements. So, does anyone know of any TRULY FREE registry programs on the internet. moreResolved Question: What alternatives are there to ZoneAlarm's program-filtering firewall?
I've been putting up with ZoneAlarm's nonsense for far too long. Upon starting my computer I am greeted with a large advertisement with two buttons, one of which opens up Firefox (to further lag my loading time) and the other of which usually doesn't respond for a minute or so. Furthermore, ZoneAlarm has this bad habit of blocking port 80 (HTTP, i.e. the internet as through web browsers) when web traffic gets too high or certain sites are visited (thorough searches from every adware, spyware, virus, etc. program I can get my hands on show nothing's wrong). This makes it so that when attempting to visit a website, the browser will continue "waiting" for it to respond until the cows come home. I have to restart to fix the problem. Even worse, if I do not restart immediately or I attempt to close and reopen Firefox (it says that firefox.exe is still running and I can't end the process) it freezes my computer and any attempt at a reboot fails - I have to hard reset using the power button. Fortunately, other ports are not blocked - IM clients, games, and whatnot continue to function. My IM buddies can attest to the fact that I constantly have to reboot my computer. This occurs at least on a daily basis and, frankly, I am tired of it. However, in other aspects, ZoneAlarm has served me well. For example, I have caught a few programs trying to sneak internet access at random times. Internet Explorer is one of them - even though I have never run IE on this computer, it regularly requests access about once every 5 seconds, which can cause problems when doing anything full screen. I ended up permanently blocking it for this reason and have pledged to myself never to use IE again. (I use Portable Firefox on other computers.) Adobe products of all sorts have the same problem - upon starting, they all demand access to the internet, even though none of them have any reason for doing so. Now, the program filtering is a necessary evil for me, but the advertising and the random port 80 blocking is too much. So, are there any (preferably free, but I won't be too hopeful) alternatives to this feature? I have searched all sorts of places but cannot seem to find anything. moreResolved Question: How can I get money from the internet?
I tried many ways to get money, by filling out surveys, linking pages, visiting sites, etc. But the fact is that most of them are scams and they never give u any money. So is there a reliable place from where I can get money from internet (such as filling out surveys, visiting certain sites, etc) and put it in my PayPal account. I don't have my own site so i cant advertise anything. Also I cant sell items on eBay, etc. Please don't give any sites which wont work or on which you want to add me as a referral. Thank you in advance. moreResolved Question: Is this why government run healthcare will never be less expensive?
From wheelchairs and walkers to orthopedic shoes and needles, Medicare buys tens of thousands of products every day for elderly Americans. And as the single largest buyer of medical products, you'd think it would at leastget a volume discount. But it doesn't. In fact, Medicare doesn't even get the best price. According to their own auditors, Medicare knowingly overpays for almost everything it buys. Examples include: -- $7,215 to rent an oxygen concentrator, when the purchase price is $600. -- $4,018 for a standard wheelchair, while the private sector pays $1,048. -- $1,825 for a hospital bed, compared to an Internet price of $1,071. -- $3,335 for a respiratory pump, versus an advertised price of $1,987. -- $82 for a diabetic supply kit, instead of a $47 price on the Web. Last year, the Health and Human Services Department tried to replace its archaic fixed-price fee schedule for 10 commonly purchased products with a competitive bidding program in 10 cities. The department said the program could save Medicare $125 million in a single year, or $1 billion if adopted nationwide. But Congress stepped in to stop it. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/10/05/tracking-taxes-medicare-waste/"There were products that we had as much as 75 percent savings. The average was 29 percent," said Mike Leavitt, the former HHS secretary who oversaw the program. "It would have saved billions if we could've actually implemented it, but Congress deferred it. In Washington speak, that means we put it off forever," he said. Leavitt blames Congressmen Pete Stark (D-Calif.) and Dave Camp (R-Mich.) for introducing legislation that terminated the contracts and postponed the program for 18 months. Leavitt says the congressional intervention helps explain why many are suspicious of claims that Washington can cut enough waste to actually pay for health care reform, as President Obama told a joint session of Congress last month. "Reducing the waste and inefficiency in Medicare and Medicaid will pay for most of this plan," Leavitt said. "The problem here is one man's waste is another man's living, and whenever there is an effort put forward to actually make an efficiency, someone goes moreResolved Question: Booked caravan paid deposit, but not recieved confirmation?
I found a caravan to rent on a rental site and contacted the owner to book our holiday for next August. We sent a £100 deposit cheque which the owner cashed on 20th August. I contacted her at the beginning of September to ask when she would send confirmation of our booking and she said she doesn't send confirmation, she emails it so she asked my email address and said she would do it. Last week I contacted her to ask why she hadnt emailed confirmation and she apologised and said her internet was down at the moment and she would send it soon. The site she advertised on is legit with pictures of the caravan etc but I'm getting a bit worried as we have no proof other than the fact we sent a cheque. Am I right to be worried? Does anyone know the legal view on deposits for holidays? Help! Thanks in advance. :) moreResolved Question: MySpace picture - legal issue?
My fiance's sister is a nutcase. She's crazy, involved in a bunch of crap that I don't let my 10 month old son around. Her friends are all either drug addicts or dealers, her ex is in jail again this time I don't know why, he was in for murder (involuntary manslaughter I believe) and drug dealing, and he's back in but don't know why. Anyway, these are just some of the reasons I steer clear from her, so does my fiance. She's a welfare project, too. I'm not knocking welfare, there for who needs it, but she doesn't! She gets her electric, rent, food, ALL for free. Her TV and internet are free off of her mother's lines, she lives next door. Her husband works under the table. So, she's already told me how she gets it illegally. Anyway -- she has pictures of me and my son on her MySpace page, advertised as her "adorable nephew" .. we don't allow her to see him, because of the trouble that follows her, and the fact that she's insane. She won't take them down. I know once a picture is on MySpace it's the property of MySpace and MySpace can do what they want, but this is pictures of my minor son and me on HER page without our permission. I have asked repeatedly to no avail. Can she get in trouble? Could the police force her to take them down? Just curious. Thanks!UGH .. but how can she put pictures of ME and my son who is a minor w/o my consent on her page for all the dangerous drug dealers and addicts to see? She didn't get the pictures from me or any other profile, she got them from her mother's camera. She got them off of her mother's camera.Excuse me? Only technically is he her nephew. She does not see him, isn't allowed to see him. She is dangerous and has dangerous friends and we protect our son. I don't want her crazy drug addicted friends knowing who he is or how to find him. You can't predict lowlifes like that. moreResolved Question: double check my essay?:)?
plz:) i need you to correct my essay (grammatically mostly) subject=> Do You Think Advertising Is Important?if Yes,In What Ways? Advertising is believed to be utterly pointless,as well as annoying.Nevertheless, many people advocate that advertising is so extremely important an industry, providing jobs for a great amount of people all around the world. It is difficult to establish which side is right, however,I would say it is vital advertising exist. First of all, countless industries are depended on advertising, such as TV.In the wake of 70s,advertising was not considered to be essential,by television spectators. However, there's no doubt that under no circumstances are programs on TV to exist without ads. Thus, the greatest portion of television's cost is taken care of by numerous multinational sponsors. Were advertising not to exist,TV programs could not be broad casted. It is imperative that sponsors keep supporting TV,otherwise its quality will be quickly deteriorated. Other than television, advertising is a way to maintain other services ,such as Print Media.Newspapers and magazines is a real need for some people since they give us the opportunity to reflect on facts.Had advertisements not to exist, the cover price of a magazine would have been substially higher. In other words,it's thanks to revenues having been collected from advertising ,that we can enjoy so many things that would have been otherwise impossible, like Public transportation and the Internet. On the whole, seeing that only if sponsors keep supporting industries, can we enjoy a variety of services, we should all agree that it is vital that ads offset most of the production costs.Notwithstanding many people's disagreement we all know that commercials do us a world of good. THE END :) im very good at writing essays but that time i was sooo sleepy and i made it in 14mins :/ should i do it again from the beginning or just correct it? does it look very bad?:/ what mark would u give me (excellent = 100%) could you correct my mistakes? plz Thank You moreResolved Question: Help with online insurance companies?
I’m looking to purchase a car in the near future, in fact I’m going to look at some this weekend. Background info, I live in Massachusetts, this is my first car I’m buying, but I’ve had a license for eight years, and a clean record. In my state (as I believe in all others, though I cannot say for sure), I cannot drive a car if it is uninsured, and I cannot register a car I would buy until it’s insured. I believe the following to be true, and if it’s not, please let me know. In my state, after purchasing a car from a dealer, I will get a filled application from the dealer for registration and title. After getting this application, I need to insure the car, and bring it to a state licensed insurance agent, so that they can stamp and sign said application. Then I can go to the registry and get the car registered/title transferred, and get the plates, so that I can return to the car, change the plates, and drive said car away. I will of course need the previous owner’s title, or a certificate of origin to finish the transaction to transfer the title, and register the car. After which I’ll need to pass inspection. Then I’ll be in the clear. Now my question is, if I try one of the various online companies that advertise on the internet, such as Esurance, Progressive, Allstate, Geico, etc, how could they come and stamp/sign the application? Does an agent come to my house, do I go to a local branch or office, or would I be better off getting this done with a local insurance company, and just switching over to a different insurance company after I get the car? Priority is of course getting the car registered so that I can drive it, and thus, insured so it can be registered and the title transferred. My ability to keep my job is at stake right now, as my previous ride is no longer an option. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance. moreResolved Question: My first and only 2012 question! Is SONY entertainment acting legally with the IHC website?
www.instituteforhumancontinuity.org/ ^ I'm sure the cronies at Sony entertainment will have looked seriously into the legality of this issue, but is there any possibility that someone could sue Sony for false advertising or even inciting fear/mass panic/public disturbance? There are a number of outrageous lies. Notably: 'The Institute for Human Continuity is dedicated to scientific progress and public preparedness. After more than two decades of rigorous research from the world's top astronomers, mathematicians, geologists, physicists, anthropologists, engineers, futurists...we know in 2012 a series of cataclysmic forces will wreak havoc on our planet.' All this under the pretense of a .org website, when it is in fact a business. Is that legal to wrongly portray a business as an organization, even if it is only as a marketing tool? Surely 'we know' - in the paragraph above - is false advertising? --- Why should this matter? Because children can be easily influenced and duped. They aren't stupid, but when they see a site like this that looks authentic, and have grown up in the internet age, they might well take it as truth. We hear of a child committing suicide in India over media lies about the Large Hadron Collider. The 2012 myth has generated a lot more press than the LHC, and I'm concerned that SONY might have some blood on their hands with this latest monstrosity before long. Maybe you think this is over the top. Your thoughts are appreciated.Lets hope so, Michael. I honestly think there might be a number of suicides related to the 2012 myth though. The website offends me with its mere existence. The film - not so much. But you can see how people might be lured into the trap with this website when it is not at all clear that it is related to the film or Sony, and presented in this official-looking way.Michael: heh heh, thank you. If there is any small chance that they're acting illegally, then I'd like to take some action, somehow.UPDATE: I've just asking this question in the legal section: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgmFKyrE46gi0ZcIUe4sb2cgBgx.;_ylv=3?qid=20090828154055AABBYmA moreVoting Question: How do I get rid of virus win32/Cryptor? please help!?
My family recently got Verizon DSL and the first thing I did was install AVG free antimalware program I got from cnet.com Internet worked well for me except for the fact that a pop-up from my windows toolbar kept saying that my firewall was not on, but when I checked my control panel, it was on. I tried to click on the pop-up but nothing would happen. Finally I came to my senses and scanned for anything on my computer using the AVG program. Something called win32/Cryptor kept coming up but AVG couldn't remove it. I tried to look up win32/Cryptor on Google and unfortunately the first thing I clicked linked me directly to this bogus website that was faking itself as a Windows program and telling me that I was infected and needed to install its antivirus software. I knew it was fake and tried closing it down but it wouldn't let me. The "website" was called stop-spyware.biz/index..................... Now it is constantly popping up from time to time. AVG would detect it and a AVG security pop-up would come up saying something like this: File name: stop-spyware.biz/index.php?PHPSESSID=f70eb31b7e1d1d1dc22e8f663c47e9 Threat name: Exploit Rogue spyware scanner (type 800) Process name: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe Process ID: 2072 Also, while searching on Google, other links I click on also take me to advertising/spam/bogus websites. I don't know what win32/cryptor is or how I got it, but can someone tell me what it is, how I got it, and how I can get rid of it?! moreResolved Question: I am probably going to get reamed a new one for this but.....?
Met a guy on a singles dating site that I advertise on. We have not met in person yet, and I am realistic that no matter how well things go over email and phone, you never know for sure how things are until you meet in person. Here is the thing though. He is only 22. He emailed me and when I found out his age my initial reaction was to run, and I told him we could never be more than friends as I was a decade and a half older than him. He expressed his interest in me despite his age or mine and said he understood but I could tell he wished I would at least be open minded to not ruling him out for his age. I ruled him out anyway, but went along with the friendship premise. The more we have gotten to know each other the more we like each other. So far he absolutely blows me away. We are on the same page in so many realms. We are attracted to each other, sure, but this clicking, this gravitational pull we seem to have, is not about sex. We have both been single for several years and even though he is so much more (even obscenely so) younger than me, he is smarter, wiser, more evolved, than any man I have ever talked to in my life. He is so mature for his age, that the fact that I am older and more mature really appeals to him, even though he was not looking for an older woman. That same maturity was also what made me end up totally and completely falling for him, as much as one can fall for someone they have never met because compared to men I have dated, even in their late 30's does not even come close to having it as together as this guy. I know we still have to meet, but I am still in shock to like someone so muich that is so young that we do not even belong to the same generation. Am I horrid? Is this disgusting? Is age just a number or is that something people just say to make themselves feel better when something they are involved in is so wrong according to society but feels so damn right? Is it better if I stick with someone my own age who is less mature, kind, intelligent, romantic, amazing? Is it okay to say screw it, I am going to do what makes me happy for a change and not my parents or my peers? I would really appreciate your feedback and thoughts on this matter, even if you have something to say that I will probably not like. This is new territory for me. And I really would like your insight. Even if it is negative, i am still for once in my life going to go with my gut and my heart and soul. And not what is politically or socially correct. But even if the feedback is to call me a nasty pedaphile ho, better to prepare myself with what strangers will think, so I know better to expect what my family and friends reaction will be, if him and i meet and we feel the same way in person as we do on email, chat, and phone Additional Details: Actually, he has been single for 2 years, but his last relationship lasted for 4. I have been single for 6 years but my longest relationship was my ex husband and I met, married, and divorced him in less than 3. He is a semester away from his associates degree. And guess what? I only started going back to school in 2007, part time, after a 16 year absence. I will am 3 semesters away from my associates degree. He is more independent than most guys i have dated. I have met guys older than me who lives with their parents. He is 22 and does not. I have met guys my age who are jobless or work for minimum wage and he is a research assistant. As far as online dating goes, I work at home, go to school at home, and am a single mom. This is the 21st century. Unless I run into someone at the local wal-mart, my only hope is to meet someone thru internet dating. I know 3 happily married couples that are married that met online. One just celebrated 16 yrs! moreResolved Question: Will Medical Careers Dry up Soon?
from what i've observed everyone is stating the abundance of medical careers. this can be seen from any news paper,or internet site, the news states it weekly BUT what scares me is the fact that by it being advertised so often, when will this particular field become unavailable and jobs scarce. I only ask this because i am a freshman in college and i am contemplating the medical field BUT find it a little unnerving that its so highly publicized which makes me wonder if there will be careers available by the time i graduate from medical school. moreResolved Question: Should I start smoking weed / pot / marijuana? Is it bad?
Why I am going to say these facts in the following paragraphs with a false title, because people have to freaking learn the truth... It can't kill you, I get shocked when people say that "It'll kill you" and yet who told you that? Your parents, probably it is because they were learned by their parents too... Built up all on false information... Now please read this. Smoking weed isn't bad... True facts about pot: Why marijuana isn't that bad! Because it isn't! The sweet-mary-jane just only makes you feel good! Alcohol is still 10x worse than it! For god sake's caffeine is worse than it! The bomb is the least toxic illegal drug! And why do your parents/government/etc allows you to make the stupid decision to drink alcohol, but not smoke the sweet-leaf? I mean ma-rich-ana kills brain cells, but doesn't kill your brain, while alcohol kills a lot of brain cells and plus gives you brain poisoning? Okay, it's not good to smoke the black-stuff, but it's worse to drink alcohol? So why rid the choice of just making you feel good, when you are bored and nothing to do, instead of getting drunk and then having a hangover? Tobacco cigarettes (with added chemicals by companies) is a much dangerous thing to take instead of smoking the good-sh*t... Nicotine makes you addicted to the cigarettes, while suckers, you don't get addicted to all! Don't believe all the reefer madness (false information about marijuana) that your parents tell you... You should be given the choice to smoke reef, same for alcohol and tobacco... LEGALIZE MARIJUANA! Look I get strait Bs (and Cs) at school and I smoke dope, so it doesn't kill your brain that much... I know a girl, intelligent girl, much better than me, that gets strait As and smokes the battery! It's a gift from god, he planted it on the earth! It's a natural plant that grows in the south! Natural! Why did it became illegal? Same reason why alcohol became illegal with marijuana in the 30s... The tobacco company saw both marijuana and alcohol as big competitors so they advertise that it was bad (reefer madness), then the government got scared and it made both illegal... Alcohol soon became back legal, and now it's the time for marijuana! Keep smoking dynamite, it'll BLOW YOUR MIND! And this is true information, you can get this wherever through the internet. But still people will believe reefer madness... It's bad, but somehow good, because it's more healthier than the rest. Parents would react if they see their child drinking, but seeing their child smoking, OMFG! It's healthier than alcohol, but still yet, we need panic more! It's illegal! OMFG! It's bad! ... C'mon... F*ck that sh*t! People panic more when things are illegal, when the things shouldn't be illegal. If it becomes legal the drug dealers will stop dealing and the drug won't cost a lot. Also it'll help the government, it'll take care of the mafia, well not completely, but still mostly, because weed is their biggest drug that sells! And they want to keep it illegal, for the money! So they'll lose a lot of profit when it becomes legal. And also a lot of street problems will stop if the drug becomes legal, because it is because it is illegal that the drug is causing fights, not because of the drug itself. Also Marijuana isn't a gateway drug, not at all, it's your fault if you start taking other drugs, don't blame it on the weed! This drug just makes you high! It's just a plant that naturally grows in the south, but when you sat on fire and breath in the smoke... It just makes you feel good. You get no hallucinations from pot, well yes but it has to reach an overdose of it and the amount of cannabis (marijuana) you have to smoke to get hallucinations is until it becomes poisonous to the body, and that's like smoking a building of marijuana. I hope parents/adults will understand, but they won't, they never do... They'll just feel ashamed, embarrassed and disappointed in you. They just want everything to be "perfect", and want you to follow their orders... They have to understand that smoking TNT-sticks is better than smoking just plain old cigarettes... Yes there is a lot of side terms I used... I did it in purpose. PS: I however believe that Class A drugs (heroin, cocaine, crystal meth, etc) should stay illegal. They can ruin your life, pot can't... And BTW I don't need this drug to be happy... I have a life, my life is music! Last time I smoked it was like 1 year ago... I really don't need it, but I just don't understand why it is illegal... "Illegal Substance is bad!" and yet this illegal substance is better than other illegal drugs, and better than legal drugs... Caffeine is more toxic that marijuana! That shows how bad this plant is!Where's all this bullsh*t coming from?! I'm not freaking retarded? Where do you get this your information from your dad? Who doesn't know sh*t? I'm just saying it is stupid for it to be illegal.. and I stopped smoking it, but still, I still think it should be legal... I quit smoking weed, and it doesn't matter, it's still normal! It's rare I've seen someone get addicted with it, because it isn't much of an addiction... Much drugs are worse! Alcohol is much worse! But yellow teeth? God, you just have to brush your teeth to not get yellow teeth... Okay what else now?... Well I'm not going to get caught... Many people who put BS answers are the ones who didn't read my text... Anyways, even if I quit it, if I had a choice in the future to drink alcohol or smoke marijuana, I'm safer with marijuana much more than alcohol! moreResolved Question: Why is smoking marijuana bad?

With radio they really cant tell how many are listing its all just based on unrealistic surveys stating silly figures to boost the Station rate cards I think. The Nielsen rating system is not 100% fact ! ?, a guessing game in truth? moreResolved Question: Question 4 Christians:Should a 14 year old boy stress himself out over fulfilling the bible and obeying God?
Like I stress out over the fact that God is sending me to hell because of stuff like lusting but then aren't all teenagers in the world going to hell? And I'm not joking...I really never worried that much about religion but ever since I got a bible and I talked to some mormon missionary over the internet I've looked up what Christianity expects and I realize that my relationship with God is where he basically hates me!(I know God loves his people...but then why would he send someone to hell?I'm not saying he doesn't love his people but it's in an unheard of way!) I know think that no1 is there and that I may go to hell because of what you would think are little things like adultery and lust! I don't understand what's so wrong about wanting something or some people may screw them self well isn't that good cuz it stops people from wanting to rape people?Or actually having sex with another person and getting diseases? But no that's bad to! This what I thought would be helping my life and making better seems to be making it worse! I feel lost! What should I do? Oh and that mormon dude from that website that's being advertised everywhere well anyway I told him about my life and he said God is with me and I've been chosen to be a leader and I asked what that meant and he said something like a true follower ofChristt? What's that mean? I took it as a good thing but it'sstressingg me out now worrying about religion! Another piece of stress added to my life! Let's just say I've been though alot for a 14 year old some stuff some people will never understand or know such as a dying alcoholic mother who's hardly ever there...What should I do? I'm afraid to stop being involved with reading the bible because then it's like I'm asking to go to hell!Isn't it?This was the website where I talked with the Mormon missionary: http://www.mormon.org/mormonorg/eng/?utm_source=marchex&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=homepage&utm_content=quick%2Blink&utm_campaign=homepage moreResolved Question: What happened to being able to choose your local landline phone and DSL provider?
For example, El Monte (in LA), California, you can get AT&T home phone and DSL but not Verizon. Didn't President Clinton sign into law something stating that you can choose what cable tv, home phone, and thus cable internet and DSL you can have? There were TONS of TV ads in the 90's about getting your local, long distance, and internet from the same company.Big names like Sprint and AT&T to SOHO outfits like Z-Tel. In fact in New York, the power/gas company ConEd CURRENTLY advertises to it's customers to consider using another power company (usually with a picture of a smiling man holding a sign that says GO! read what you like into that one) So even if AT&T is providing the physical wire to the home, can't you sign up with Verizon or some other company instead? moreResolved Question: 1. What have been the key success factors for Sony?
Sony Started as a radio repair shop, founded by Masuru Ikura and Akio Morita after Would War II. The company began its long history of producing compact consumer electronics in 1957, when it introduced the World’s first pocket-sized all-transistor radio. The company’s name, Sony, was taken from Sony, the Latin word for “sound” Sony went on to invest a series of transistor-based TVs and increasingly smaller audiocassette recorders. In 1979, the Sony Walkman introduced the World to a new, portable way of listening to music. Sony became a world leader in consumer electronics and was the first Japanese company to have its shares traded on the New York Stock Exchange. In the late 1980s, Sony began expanding into media, purchasing a U.S. record company (CSB records for $22 billion in 1988). And a major Hollywood studio (Columbia Pictures for $4.9 billion in 1989). The purchases made Sony a major force in the entertainment industry. The importance of marketing at Sony started with Akio Morita, who said that for a company to be successful, it must have three kinds of creativity: creativity to make inventions, creativity in planning and production, and creativity in marketing. Creativity in marketing at Sony means not just cleaver ads, but deep insight into its customers. For example, Sony knows its playstation customers like to find clues and to decode things. So Sony’s ads for playstation 2, like “Signs,” feature a young man walking the streets of a city where he encounters various signs foreshadowing the events. Mannequins appear in a store window, arms outstretched, and point enigmatically to something that’s about to happen. “The lead character is almost in the midst of his own role-playing game. He needs to follows clues to save the heroine”, said Andrew House, Sony’s executive vice president of marketing. In the ads, “we were essentially trying to tap into a range of emotions that we think we deliver in the games – intrigue, forebonding, excitement, panic, relief and achievement at the end”. Sony’s marketing also includes careful measurement of each campaign’s effectiveness. Foe example, Sony runs 30-second commercials for its Playstation as part of the previews in more than 1,800 theatres and on 8,000 movie screens. The ads appear before such films as “The Cat in the Hat”. Sony Computer Entertainment America has been running movie ads for six years.” Cinema advertising has been very effective for us”, said Amil Blaire, director of product marketing.” The reason why we have committed to cinema every year is the tremendous unaided recall shown by our own research and communicus – commissioned ad tracking”. Another example of measurement is Sony’s GenY youth marketing efforts. “The online program promoting the NetMD ATRAC CD Walkman and Cybershot U30 ran July 1 through September 30, 2003, and we found that more than 70 percent static banners”, said Serge Del Grosso, Director of Media and Internet Strategy, Sony Electronics”. In fact, Sony has even developed a direct-marketing solution which it sells to other companies who want to measure marketing effectiveness. The product, called eBridge[TM], allows marketers to use video, measure the effectiveness of the campaign, and gain insight into the target audience, all in one package. Sony expects that the next big breakthrough will not come from a single new electronic device.Rather, Sony President Kunitake Ando says that the future lies in making a whole range of devices more usefully linking them in a networked home-entertainment system. The company believes that its clout in consumer electronics, combined with its media content, will allow it to steer that convergence in a way that suits it. Whether the future of convergence resides in TV’s or PC’s or devices , $62-billion Sony makes every one of them- with a strong brand name that gives them an extra push off retail shelves around the world. 1. What have been the key success factors for Sony? 2. What recommendations would you make to senior marketing executives going forward? What should they he sure to do with its marketing? moreResolved Question: Conflicting feelings...new to adoption idea?
We decided to adopt last month, a year after I brought it up with my husband after 4 years of infertility treatments and trying and no answers and not knowing why. He needed time to think about it and I gave him a year. I really gave him a year with no nagging or reminders. He had a full year of quiet to think about it and I respected that. So I asked the question, "It's been a year now, what are your thoughts?" And the answer was a completely open YES. We want to adopt. For two weeks I was so excited and we started researching the process. We filled out a general form and got a governmental number. We will take 6 classes of 3 hours each in a year from now and then pick a country and go through family investigations and then get acquainted with an agency which fits our criteria. Great. I am a 33 year old White American woman living in the Netherlands with a 35 year old White Dutch man. We fit the age criteria to adopt a very young child and we are married which is favorable. We got a list of "license holders" aka adoption agencies in the Netherlands with their websites. I started researching and all my old, naive, up in the air thoughts about adoption came crumbling to ruins. From this moment on I ask the respect of the readers to acknowledge the fact that we are aspirant parents giving consideration to the future of a child and ourselves and the time of consideration of all options of positives and negatives of all such people should be respected and assisted with knowledgeable good advise and this is something that we personally will not take lightly for the future of the life of a child or our own... Moving into this next step of our lives we start investigated all aspects of our emotions and concerns on the internet. To our dismay, we mostly find that all children ALL children available for international adoption are children with disabilities and the list is endless. We feel we are open minded, caring people, but this was a blow we were not prepared for. The web sites of the adoption agencies themselves seemed more like charity advertisements that could have just as well have been advertised on the discovery channel. It sounds very crude, but that is also our interpretation of the process. I also read more about the "classes" we will be required to take. 3 are general classes and then 2 are in reference to the culture you plan to adopt from and the last class (for everyone) is information about adopting children with special needs. Now, my criteria was pretty much set when I thought about this process. These stipulations made me confront myself and my ideals, beliefs, identity, everything. To my astonishment my husband actually felt the same way I did. We do no want to ask for a problem. We have certain expectations and they are just there. I don't want to change them. That is who we are. I have been combating myself telling me there is something wrong with me that I do not want to adopt extra problems and that I have expectations and shame on me for not having an open heart for the S.N. children and don't they deserve a good home? Yes, but something tells me from within, not with me! We probably would fall in love with a S.N. child, or an older child, but (well that's just it... there will always be a BUT in our family!) I don't want to go into a process where a "Charity" tries to talk you into something you already know you don't want to do. Maybe we are just really selfish people. God does not allow us to have children and if we choose to adopt it will be a child of special needs. All the love, treasures, joy, and life lessons/gifts these children may be able to give you, I have to tell God, I'm sorry, you gave me an instinct and this instinct is telling me/us, no... we want a healthy child that will fit in with our family or grow old and end up alone.... I can't fight this feeling. And I feel ashamed I am not open to opening up my life for more children in need. For all of you people out there judging aspirant parents but haven't been throgh the process yourself, I hope you hear this and really hear this. It is painful for both parties. Thanks.LOL, I guess it's more a question for advice or support, opinions so that I have something to weigh... ok so i have tried everything, CCcleaner, manually deleting, AVG everything, and i even went into internet options and set block all cookies, which i then had to take down to sign in. so please dont restate a already tried solution(or not solution) i need to know these from someone smart 1.why the hell after i delete the cookies they come back EX.(tracking cookie.doubleclick, tracking cookie.yieldmanager, tracking cookie.revsci) and more, shouldnt they NOT come back after i delete them, this has just barely started today when i logged onto yahoo to read news. This leaves me to believe if they start coming back, something is still on my computer telling another computer somewhere to put it back, OR another computer is tracking me. 2.How do i prevent this from occuring, i know trackin cookies are "harmless" when they record your websites for advertising. but i also know they record passwords and accounts, and i do online banking. 3. how do i delete them? like i said i have tried EVERYTHING, i want them gone. i have NEVER gotten a virus on ANY of my XP/VISTA computers, basically the last 4-5years, becuase AVG protects me. But this recent stir annoys me, becuase i usually keep my computer safe, i have not noticed anything in performance, but i dislike my passwords being recorded. MORE INFO:to test this i also started going to random safe websites like cooking websites, wiki's and how to's even on yahoo in some articles, it AVG kept noticing threats of tracking cookies, also i got my first detected trojan (i get a few every year, but AVG deletes them so no harm) a few minutes after i started getting constant tracking cookies, but the fact that the tracking cookies keep coming back makes me wonder if the trojan is REALLY gone. please help thank you. moreResolved Question: Why blame the media of conspiracies?
I was perusing through the political posts and found that when people get to name calling of the opposite party (and all that unrequited hate) they always blame the media. I remember when bush was in power the media was "conservative" now the media is "liberal". Same network just different person mudslinging. in fact i currently read websites from the opposite sides and they both blamed the news networks of catering to the other. Well are there any people who will have a good, consistent, congruent, thought out argument that doesn't involve blaming others actions? is there anybody out there that will have an argument that doesn't involve thrashing someone else? anyways i believe there are other sources that one could use in the internet without relating to one party's propaganda to be informed and make decisions on issues. anyways blaming the mainstream media is the dumbest way to criticize. they are there for the viewer numbers in order to make a profit out of advertising, so they will cater to the biggest market share be that liberal or conservative. so these sources ,in my eyes, are not to blame because they simply reflect their viewership in order to gain and keep those demographics. if one day the country loves the color purple they will show anything purple but the next day the country loves green they will show anything green. but isn't that the freedom that a democracy brings? if the majority like a certain thing then the country wants to go in that direction. who is to blame if those propositions are wrong? not the media in my eyes, its every single person because together we made those demographics and the media catered to it. we are in this whole mess together we spent more than we made, we over hyped good things and forgot to invest on things that we were weak at and did not strengthen them. its no ones fault but our own. in one form of another and we must work together to compromise because that is what a democracy is. diplomacy in politics is the way to efficiently run this country of laws. Are there any people out there to take my hand and meet halfway ,without blaming other but ourselves, in order to help run this nation effectively and efficiently? moreResolved Question: I am doing my expository speech on iPods I need some help please?

After Chieco saw a prototype, he thought of the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey and the phrase "Open the pod bay door, Hal!", which refers to the white EVA Pods of the Discovery One spaceshipApple researched the trademark and found that it was already in use. Joseph N. Its worth 20 points and I've already searched, but I think I'm using the wrong key words and nothing is coming up. My five-ten point extra credit (note, this is NOT homework, which in fact I do by myself and not cheat off of y!a) is simply to find a real product ad (which can be an internet source or a real ad) that falsely advertises electrolysis (i think). Falsely just means that it doesn't do anything to really alter the product, and its just an unnecessary process that they add to advertise. Like using big words and someone buying it because it sounds scientific. I'll continue searching, but I would really, really love some help. Then at the same time found an advert on the internet for a similar flat but for a higher price an agency was advertising so I enquired about it, agreeing to the fact that I need to pay extra bond for them leading me to the flat. Little did I realise the one on the internet was the same as the one I had written down, the price was different. I called the landlady on the landline but I'm not sure if it was before I got the email from the agency. I need to prove that I called the landlady before I got the details off the agency. My name is Lascivious Jefferson which you should believe, despite the fact that my user name says that it is Jackson M. I am from the CANADA. I am trying to run a phony loan company that offers loans of all types to people who can't tell the difference between Bank of America and insert-my-stupid-company-name-here. The problem I am having is that I claim to be a highly reputable executive of a major banking institution from an English-speaking country, but I write all of the canned sales pitches that I post in every area of the Yahoo! answers service in a bizarre illiterate and ungrammatical style that completely gives away that English is not my first language, second language, or probably fifth language, for that matter. I also have a problem that since my account gets canceled every day because it is always reported that my highly reputable company has a hotmail.com email address and I am always posting on an account that was created the same day. Why is Yahoo so mean to me? All I want to do is make a little honest money cheating people who should know better than to trust that legitimate lenders 'advertise' on Yahoo Answers. I practically come right out and tell everyone that I'm not legitimate when I say that I can offer loans of many thousands of dollars with no credit check, at ridiculous rates of interest that no real lender could possibly offer! Plus, I have been using the same canned pitches for so long, that my answers sometimes forget to even include my email address. What is wrong with trying to make a little extra money sitting in a foreign internet cafe running an identity theft scam? I do not understand this. Is there anyone who can lend me $$$$$ at 2% interest, without any questions about my phony finances, so that I can take English classes and learn how to write a sales pitch that sounds like a high level banking executive actually wrote it? Being from the CANADA is very hard work. Don't worry, I am stupid enough to send my financial information to anyone other phony company that answers here. Please pray for some man for me, dear. moreResolved Question: Input is need for this story line?

My husband recently advertised a car/van on ebay and when a guy came to look at it, preferred another vehicle we had in the garage which while we were happy to sell, had not advertised it. He had owned it for some years and believed to be 1970s. The registration document must bear witness to this fact. The new owner has resold it on an internet website and has been advised that it is a much newer version (1980s) a fact determined by different components which the older model would not have been fitted with. This new owner is now asking for his money back from us. Anybody know where we stand on this? My feeling is that the term "caveat emptor" comes into effect here - let the buyer beware! I am looking to buy a dog for my two kids and for me, and i want something i will continue to find appealing (i know that sounds shallow but there are many dogs i feel are very cute when they are little but as they get older i don't find as pleasing to the eye) if i'm paying money for something i want it to be worth the money i spend on it. my boyfriend's mother was just given a shnauzer by him and it is quite cute. when i started to research these on the internet to see if they would be ideal, they seem like they will be fine for us (however the 'giant' and normal sized ones seem to not stay as pretty once they get older and some looked to get rather large), and his sister also has a small one and they haven't had any problems with it being around their small daughter. now that i am looking to make a purchase i have been 'shopping around' looking into different breeders to see who has the best value (and blood lines etc) for the money i will be spending. in doing that i noticed some people advertising 'toy shnauzers' and some 'miniature shnauzers' but i can't seem to find any where that really discusses the differences in these two types. i don't want one that will get very large because my daughter is scared of bigger dogs. in fact my father just purchased a 16 week old brittany and she is absolutely terrified of the dog (especially since his dog reminds me of marley off of 'marley and me' in the way he acts) anyway, any info on the differences on the two types will be appreciated. i want info on any difference including temperment, size, ease of training etc.WOW no wonder i'm not finding anything on them!!! basically anyone selling a 'toy' shnauzer is lying to get some cash is what it is sounding like. Hi I was reading the news yesterday about a photo of a celeb that wasnt air brushed got leaked out over the internet and showed the celeb with cellulite etc and it made me think that when we see all these celebs with perfect skin and bodies tit is all fake but women are made to think that these celebs are perfect in everyway and acutally go out and buy all this stuff like excercise equipment and cosmetic products to actually think that this is going to improve there looks when in natural fact no one is that perfect. So all this stuff we go out and buy that is advertised by a celeb has no chance on working, so we mayswell save our money and stop trying so hard to be perfect as no one is. I personally think it is wrong for a celeb to be airbrushed, as when we see them in films we like them for the acting, or doing whatever they do, so what does it matter how they look ? No wonder my so many women and girls have low self esteem and other issues like trying to look as perfect as a celeb in all the magazines not knowing that they are air brushed all over the place. We could all be beautiful with the help of air brushing but it just doesnt happen. Here is a link to celebs before and after airbrushed photos I think most of the celebs are naturally beautiful so dont need it anyways. http://www.hemmy.net/2007/05/25/celebrities-before-and-after-photoshop/ It annoyes me too when a bloke like a boyfriend or hubby comments on how a celeb looks in a certain photo, as its air brushed and that they really dont look like that in real life, and I just get looked at like Im stupid as if this real looking perfect person exsist lol when its all just make up and lights and airbrushing. It then make you think I wish I could be like that etc when there is no need to feel that way I wonder how many pin ups blokes would have up on there wall if the photoes werent airbrushed with all the cellulite, fat and stretchmarks are on show like us normal women are judge for lol moreVoting Question: What is someone perspective of cyber culture online shopping verses shopping over the counter?
If you are or are not a frequent user of the internet? If so, what is your perspective of the pro's and con's of shopping online (eBay) verses shopping over the counter(Wal*mart). What are the cultural, identity, and diversity, traits influences you perspective of why you as a consumer chooses to purchase products from either online or over the counter? Do you feel like the internet has adapted to mufti-cultural groups and has this cyber culture bridged the gap between the way we do business, as well as purchase products? Finally, do you feel the internet has stimulated the economy and why? I am looking for other perspectives from people all over the world to give my perspective of the internet as I have written a essay an I am looking for mufti-cultural view points. I am attaching a abstract from the essay I have already written on. I can not give the full essay at this time it is being reviewed for possible publication by my teachers at college. Thank you for your time and opinion it is much appreciated. Abstract: Despite the fact, that the internet has become widely used in homes around the world the fact remains that people still hesitate to shop online. When in all actuality the online marketplaces of today bring a newfound level of convenience to today’s way of life. Despite the generation that believed in doing business over the counter. The cyberculture way of life becomes more engrained in us through everyday advertising and marketing. This new marketplace grows and becomes stronger everyday because of the ability of the shopper to search for price discounts, their ability to window shop from home and view a wider range of products before making their selection, and the opportunity to purchase products otherwise unavailable in their local marketplace. The internet and the options of being able to shop online through such websites as eBay, allows individuals the opportunities to view products and the options to purchase them from their home, without location, time restriction, or limited access of products. The availability to shop online has open doorways to ethnic individuals, low income families, as well as the handicap people in the global world. Even, with the ability to shop online in today’s society, there are many variables that play a deciding factor of those choices, such as (CAB) better known as “beliefs or cognition, affect, and behavior.”(Holbrook 1986 para.2 p.2) All of these things were designed to contribute directly to a healthier economy on a global level. moreResolved Question: Would you ever make your relationships public?
Personally, if I loved someone on that level, I'm not going to be making a huge statement of it on the internet. I've seen people on myspace advertising their love for someone. Why does everybody need to know what's going on between you and another person? The only reason I would do that is if I'm having some sort of issue, and even then so, I'd probably do it by personal message with someone I trust. But if public, definitely no names or explicit details. Just enough facts to get the issue across and get some helpful advice. I just don't see why people keep posting things about their relationships. Be proud you have someone to love and who loves you back but I just think it's sort of tacky to be posting it for all to see. Your business isn't the worlds. Keep it between you and them. That's just my opinion on the subject. Of course this doesn't cover everything single detail but that's what I think about that, in general. What about you? moreResolved Question: Help Solar Panel Project do soon!?

But my question is, i am planning to have a genuine copy with a help of my mother and father because I can't afford that $150 or $149 just to have that genuine windows license. I am planning to have vista(my dream!!! software since it was advertised by windows in our school 2007) but I've read that many people agree that "vista sucks!" so i am afraid to have it in my computer and it will ruin anything. But one day i am searching the yahoo answers by the question is xp better than vista and one answer there have a Win 7 and it's like an eye catchy for me. Then i got curious about Win 7 so I've search for it and it says that its a lot way better than vista and xp and vista would've work this way (i am preferring to Win 7) but I've heard that its release is on November and it's still march so i have to wait but i don't want to wait. I saw this today and was wondering what other people think about this: (These quotes are from an agency website) "We are results driven! Unlike many state-regulated adoption agencies, we are not confined by stringent state-mandated budget restrictions. This means we can advertise and market more aggressively to find the right child for you quicker. In fact, on average we are able to match families for you within 4 months when, according to National Adoption Information Clearinghouse the standard for adoptions is 1 to 5 years!!! " "Here Is How We will Help You Find A Baby To Adopt: * XXXX places extensive Nationwide Internet advertising specifically targeting suitable Birthparents knowing that the Internet is the most widely used medium of this demographic. * Over 1 million dollars spent in Birthmother advertising annually. * Aggressive grassroots marketing and outreach programs to reach other birthmothers who might not otherwise find us through more traditional forms of advertising and marketing. We market to: * Maternity Homes * Family Planning Clinics * Crisis Pregnancy Clinics * Hospitals and Medical Clinics * Teen Pregnancy Programs * Church Groups * Chat Rooms * Civic Organizations * Abortion Clinics * Bulletin Boards * Pregnancy Hotlines * Physicians * Community Referrals * Social Workers * High Schools, Colleges and Universities" "We pre-screen all of our birth mothers for pre-existing medical and psychological conditions. For example, all of our birth mothers see a medical doctor who checks their medical history, screens for drugs, alcohol, disease, HIV, Hepatitis and even psychological problems. We can help you find and adopt a happy healthy baby."I am so glad so many other people see this to be as disgusting and predatory as I did. I agree with the several posters who said this should be illegal.Makes me feel like there's hope for humanity after all! :) I can't pick a best answer - too many great ones to choose from! Thanks for answering! moreResolved Question: Is this a good argumentative speech?
I wrote this in about 7 hours and I need to know if this is a good speech or if there is anything I should change or fix. The Subject is Censorship, and I am arguing against censorship. So Please give me your honest opinion. (Sorry for my messy grammer/spelling it's 2:39.) Censorship effects us all, be it through race, religion, government party or income. Everyone in this room will be effected by censorship one way or another. There are so many types of censorship: Moral, Military, Religious, Political, Corporate and Creative just to name a few. Corporate Censorship is when media outlets intervene to stop the publishing of information that may depict their business or business associates in an adverse light. Privately owned corporations that report news also can refuse to share information that may cause loss of advertiser revenue or shareholder value which negative publicity may bring. The Telecommunications Act is a law that Canadian telecommunications common carriers like Telus, Bell Canada and Verizon are regulated. The Telecommunications act at the time was not favored by the media. Records show that there were only 12 major news stories about the Telecommunications act and a total of 19.5 minutes of air time accumulated over those stories. Much of the coverage of the new act was centered around the television content ratings and the V-chip while the considerable changes to the ownership rules of the media were almost completely ignored. Only bits and pieces of the opinions that the Critics of the legislations had were shown on air, because the legislations directly profited the media. Newspapers can actually refuse to run commentary they don’t agree with as well. Black Press owns over 95 newspapers in the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta and other places outside of Canada. If the owner of these newspapers disagreed with new laws that were passed that could change lives, they could not print it. That is complete corporate censorship. Religious Censorship has been an issue that has been occurring as far back as you can flip any text book. Far back in ancient times Sorcery books worth 50,000 silver were burnt by Paul’s converts at Ephesus. They have tried to completely eliminate an entire religion all together with the Holocaust! The Da Vinci Code was attacked by various religious groups, saying that Dan Brown was a Satanist and was going to hell. The movie was even banned in Samoa. Everyone knows who Harry Potter is, the FICTIONAL orphan boy that learns he is a wizard and goes to a school for wizards. Religious groups want to ban these books from being sold, and these movies from being seen. Some Catholic followers believe that Harry Potter glamorizes Wicca, a religion involving the thought that magic can be created by “Manipulating through the form of Witchcraft or Sorcery”, but at no time is the religion advertised during the books nor movies. If this is not evidence that censorship is occurring more than anyone would have thought, take a look at China. Though blocks to certain websites may not apply to different cities, and they have been lifted for certain occasions, they are still BLOCKING websites. Their most recent major website was access to The New York Times which was blocked on December 20, 2008. Most foreign websites are still available for mainland China, but a few websites such as the Chinese-language service of BBC continue to be blocked and unblocked. Regardless of the small number of blocked sites, the mere fact that the government is starting to block off sites that have no reason to disappear is enough to raise suspicion. The Golden Shield project ( Also referred too as The Great Firewall Of China ) was created and is owned by the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China. It was created in 1998 and was actually used In the beginning of 2003. The Golden Shield Project’s job is to block Content on the internet. It does this by stopping IP addresses from being routed through and is made up of standard firewalls and proxy servers at the Internet gateways. The system also selectively engages in DNS poisoning when particular sites are requested. The government does not appear to be methodically examining Internet content, because it is technically impractical. The Censored Content includes but is not limited too: *Websites that are about or are related to the Falun Gong spiritual practice, which is not only internet censorship but religious as well. *News Sources that cover topics such as: Police Brutality, Freedom of Speech or Democracy *The Chinese Wikipedia which has been recently unblocked *Any major Newspaper and television media that contain information on the Taiwanese Independence. *Sites that are linked with the Dalai Lama and his involvement with the International Tibet Independence Movement If you think that China’s internet problems could never get to Canada, Think again. I spoke with my financial adviser and was told that it would not be beneficial to incorporate my business in Delaware or Nevada, and it would make more sense to incorporate in California (where I am located). Here are the facts: I am located in California My business is internet-based (no real geographical location) My main (and possibly only) source of revenue is advertising-based My business is privately owned with no intention of trading publicly Because my business is internet-based, my advertising has a world-wide reach (not really focused on local advertising) Does it make sense to not incorporate in Delaware or Nevada and incorporate in California? From a tax perspective, my adviser told me that there's extra paperwork and extra fees for incorporating in another state with no financial benefit since I'll have to register in California anyways and pay state tax, so if that's true, then I see why FINANCIALLY it is not beneficial, but I do like the advantage of allowing one person to serve all officer positions when incorporating in Delaware or Nevada.
