Voting Question: IN NEED OF A CATCHY SLOGAN THAT HASNT BEEN USED BEFORE!?
For a school project, we are advertising cookies. We are filming a commercial on it and we need a catchy slogan that no one has used before. It needs to be smart and creative. Again, we are advertising our cookies. Company Name: Bam Cookie name: Hamburger Sweet Treat? Need help on the name of the cookie too. It has a cookie on the bottom, a brownie w/ fudge in the center, and another cookie on top. So its kinda like a "hamburger" as me and my friends call it. Anyways, if you could help out that would be great!! (:* The company name is Bam
*the cookie name is undecided something like Hamburger Sweet Treat?

I saw an advert for American airlines the other nite on telly. Their slogan was, at the end, 'we know why you fly.' Well, mate, I dont know bout you, but the reason i fly is cos that's about the only way to get from A to B across the ocean, unless you like a long boat ride. I mean, what are they suggesting? that people fly so they can s*ag in the public toilets, or flirt with some cabin crew who never look as hot at they do in the adverts, or cos they love being sardined in between people for hours? f*cks sake, and these people work for major ad agencies. Do you think this is a good slogan, or do you agree it qualifies for the top ten most laughable of all time? x
moreResolved Question: Viagra slogans (20 characters)?
The boss of a Madison Avenue advertising agency called a spontaneous staff meeting in the middle of a particularly stressful week. When everyone gathered, the boss, who understood the benefits of having fun, told the burnt-out staff the purpose of the meeting was to have a quick contest. The theme: Viagra advertising slogans. The only rule! was they had to use past ad slogans, originally written for other products, that captured the essence of Viagra. Slight variations were acceptable.
About 7 minutes later, they turned in their suggestions and created a Top 10 List. With all the laughter and camaraderie, the rest of the week went very well for everyone! The top 10 were:
10. Viagra, Whaazzzz up!
9. Viagra, The quicker pecker picker upper.
8. Viagra, like a rock !
7. Viagra, When it absolutely, positively has to be there overnight.
6. Viagra, Be all that you can be.
5. Viagra, Reach out and touch someone.
4. Viagra, Strong enough for a man, but made for a woman.
3. Viagra, Home of the whopper!
2. Viagra, We bring good things to Life!
And the unanimous number one slogan:
1. This is your peepee. This is your peepee on drugs.

MISCELLANEOUS STATUTES AMENDMENT ACT INTRODUCED
BILL 13.... Municipalities Enabling and Validating Act – Amendments will provide the municipalities of Vancouver, Richmond and Whistler with temporary enforcement powers to enable them to swiftly remove illegal signs and graffiti during the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The legislation does not change the existing scope of authority to regulate signs and graffiti. Rather, it provides, on a temporary basis, a faster way of removing signs and graffiti that violate municipal bylaws during the short period the Games are underway.

Recent report: Gagging citizens for the 2010 Olympics

Think Tank Filed under: Vancouver, Olympics, 2010, Whistler, B.C., civil liberties, Winter Olympics, protest, Richmond, democracy
Nobody wants some embarrassing incident during the 2010 Winter Games that will give Vancouver a black-eye in the global community. Afterall, we’re spending billions of dollars to put on a Winter Games aimed at boosting Canadian pride and celebrating the skills of our athletes.
But the politicians have got it wrong if they think that they’re not embarrassing us by giving police, security forces or any designated municipal employee in Vancouver, Richmond and Whistler the extraordinary power to enter people’s homes and take down any “advertising-matter”— albeit with 24 hours’ notice.
What’s particularly offensive about this draconian power is that no one is willing to define exactly what “advertising-matter” is. Does it include Tibetan flags? Does it only mean Pepsi posters since Coke is an Olympic top sponsor? Does it mean Olympic rings coupled with anti-Games slogans?
Instead Vancouver’s bylaw (which I wrote about in the summer) and the bill currently before the B.C. legislature leaves the defining to the discretion of whoever might be designated to enforce this.
The municipalities and the province are also poised to increase the penalty for sign offenders to $10,000 from $2,000 and up to six months in jail.
As Robert Holmes, president of the B.C. Civil Liberties Association points out, six months in jail is usually reserved for criminals, who have a record of several conviction for breaking and entering.
And isn’t this rich? When I went searching for a copy of the province’s Bill 13, I found the government’s contest for middle and secondary students to produce a video to celebrate the International Day of Democracy. The contest ends Nov. 15 and the grand prize is. . . a trip to Victoria and a tour of the legislature.
Here’s part of what the contest promotion says: “Democracy is dependent on the expression of ideas and a culture of tolerance. Political tolerance implies freedom of expression, open dialogue and a diversity of views. It is the role of democractic [sic] institutions, such as parliament, to mediate tensions between diverging opinions and to accommodate the participation of all sectors of society.”
I’m betting that any student tackling the issue of free expression during the Olympics won’t be winning that exciting trip to see our provincial politicians in action.

The advertisement for ‘Rimmel of London’s Stay Glossy Lip gloss’ (see appendix) is a prime example of beauty products advertisement. This position is best supported by examining the following aspects: the subject matter; target audience; logo/slogan; layout; and use of colour and image.
The subject matter is the magazine advertisement that sells and advertises lipgloss. The target audience according to the woman on the magazine could be women from ages 16-25 years. It could also be for the people that are sick of the lipgloss drying too fast or people that just want a glossy upgrade.
Rimmel London is the logo for the unique lip-sculpting wand lip gloss. The slogan is “Live the London look”. The crown at the top of the letter ‘R’ suggests royalty and importance, making the product seem more upmarket. Royalty also suggests tradition and quality. Some manufacturers like their products to royal family by having the crown symbol on their packaging. Rimmel may be trying to add gravitas to their product by using a crown symbol. It further suggests that if you start buying lipgloss from Rimmel London you will have a “London look” to you. The connotative could be that it makes women look gorgeous when it’s placed on their lips. It has a longer lasting feel to it.
This ad has a different layout from most other ads. First, this is very clutch up and has a lot of information. There is an attractive woman on the left wearing lipgloss which they are trying to persuade people to buy. This lady grabs the attention from such a big photograph of her. They are also trying to position the viewer by making them think that when you wear it you are going to look, beautiful, younger and getting the old fashion London look. On the left is the product of the advertisement. The interest is the lipgloss. At the bottom of the woman’s photograph is Lily Coles, who is also wearing stay glossy shade, but her picture is in black and white. She is representing as a London girl. There are smudges of lipgloss on the left and right corner of the page. On the bottom it says the product is available from: Priceline, Kmart, Target, Big W, selected Coles supermarkets and selected Pharmacies nationally or even from rimmellondone.com.au. The advertisers are convincing the people to buy it because it’s cheap from those selected, not expensive shops like Myer or Calvin Klein.
There are various colours that the manufacturers used for this, including black and white images. The image they use were the pictures of different colour of lip gloss. The woman that has the lip gloss on and the black and white image represents two different ways that lipgloss looks beautiful in. According to the photographs they are stereotyping that every girl will look stunning when putting it on. The formal picture is the black and white looks like London. On the other hand the other photo looks like our fashion now. Everything’s colourful but there are two photographs that are not, which tricks your eyes making the viewer look at the non-colourful photograph. The big smudge of the lipgloss attracts you which make you look at the black and white picture, saying that it doesn’t look ugly but something unique.
It has been shown that this particular lipgloss advertisement has a brand called Rimmel London. This has been shown by examining the following aspects: the subject matter, target audience; logo/slogan; layout; and use of colour and image. It has been shown that the “Stay Glossy Lipgloss” are suitable from ages 16-25 years.

HahaCairnoscott (sorry if i spelled it wrong)
I do not agree with the holes in the jeans thing. We have asked our main princable why thats even a rule, his excuse was simply that it didn't look good.
I find that very wrong because I mean I don't really think the color brown looks good on clothing,am I going to ban it somewhere?
My point is, it doesn't hurt anybody, and does no harm.

moreResolved Question: Do the ads affect your opinion of a site?
At the moment, my forum http://www.notebookinhand.com has a banner ad that says "GODLESS" and it's to a shop with tshirts with atheist theme tshirts and accessories.
The little ad has an ad to an adult webcomic.
If you went to the forum, and saw 'Godless' written across the top (or, other ads that might have a slogan you disapprove of) would you notice it's an ad, or would you think it's part of my site? Would you think I endorse whatever the website its linking to is? Or would you understand that it's beyond my control? (Well, I could ban the adult webcomic one, but the Godless one is beyond my control.) The people who run the ads search for sites with people that they think would like their website or product. Sometimes their guess is good, sometimes it isn't, sometimes it'd suit some people on the forum but not others. (Sure, lots of us are atheist, but many are Christian too.)
How would it affect you?
And no, I can't get rid of the ads, I need it to pay for hosting and advertising for the forum.

Heey, I've been asked to come up with posters advertising a new Nike fitness website, aimed at students and business men/women.
I have an idea for both and was wondering if i could get some feedback - what you think, would you would change etc. Thanks :]
For the students - Three students at school on computers, two end ones are wearing uniforms and the middle is in a Nike sports kit. They have their backs facing us so the audience doesn't see what they are doing on the computers, but assume the middle is using the Nike site.
I hope i haven't explained it too badly, i just liked the symmetrical layout and thought it could be simple yet effective.
Business men/women - A male behind a desk in an office, top half he's wearing a suit jacket, shirt and tie. his feet are on the desk and is wearing football boots, socks and shorts. the computer is open in front of him. Slogan reads "Bringing fitness to you" (Or something similar)
Ok thanks :]
By the way it's only for college, i'm not a professional lolWow i love the 2nd idea, although i'm meant to be doing posters not an advert, although if i were i'd definitly use that! :]

moreResolved Question: proofread my essay and add pointers please?
“Maybe she’s born with it. Maybe it’s Maybelline.” We’ve heard this on TV, read it in a magazine or on the Internet. It’s everywhere. The ad tries to accomplish that the model was not born with “beauty”, but it came from applying the makeup to her skin. Maybelline is known for their bold advertising using beautiful women with flawless faces. Their two-paged color ad in last months People magazine is no different from the old. The use of sex appeal, color, and text is what make another effective make-up ad. Companies spend billions of dollars each year on ads using these techniques along with the main initiative: Sex sells. The developers of this advertisement use techniques to persuade the public to buy their product, guaranteeing that they will give them the beauty they always dreamed of or seen.
Maybelline’s newest cream foundation ad used a stunning female with radiant skin to lure in women to buy their product. Her gentle green eyes are what first grab ones attention when flipping through the magazine. The sultry look in her eyes suggests that she feels sexy wearing the foundation. It is irresistible to stare an extra moment. Everyday women are looking for ways to improve or change their look. A beautiful woman can sell more products than a hideous woman merely because hideous woman is not appealing.
The model is positioned to the left of the page, with text to the right. First of all, the layout needs to be simple and organized. A simple neat ad is powerful by keeping the reader’s focus on face of the model. Could this really be her natural look? No, of course not. It is obvious that the photographer used light and colours to enhance the glow of her skin. The placement of lights in the studio illuminates her face. Her head is tilted just left, so the left right of her face is slightly shadowed. Shadowing this way keeps the reader’s focus on face. If the light was shining below the model, it would give a spooky effect. Proper placement of the lights is important because it sets a certain mood.
Older women want to look young again. “NEW INSTANT AGE REWIND!” These four words are so powerful and commanding. The text stands out because the word NEW is highlighted and the entire sentence is in upper case letters. To the right of the model is, “REWIND THE YEARS, INSTANTLY! NOW, CUSTOM RADIANT PERFECTION AT YOUR FINGERTIPS.” This entitles that perfection is easy access and there is no need of cosmetic surgeries. Only with the appliance of Maybelline’s cream foundation. Under the text are more attention grabbers. Halfway down the page shows a picture of the special pad. In a short few sentences it explains the use of the product. Underneath the pad is a picture of the actual foundation. This was done so when the customer spots the product in the store, they will remember the how magnificent the foundation looked on the model. The urge to buy the product rushes through their mind.
To appeal to a variety of women, Maybelline shows that the foundation is available in other skin tones. Certainly a dark skinned woman would not buy a light tone because it would not blend with her skin. By including other tones, the advertisers again try to entice you to buy this foundation.
Maybelline’s classic logo is stretches across the entire bottom of the two-paged ad. They did this so the reader would not be distracted from the model’s portrait or the introduction of the new foundation. Under the large logo is Maybelline’s slogan, “Maybe she’s born with it. Maybe it’s Maybelline.” Earlier in the essay I explained that this slogan tricks readers into thinking they will become a princess if they apply this foundation to their skin. On top of the Maybelline logo is the website for those interested in learning more about Maybelline.
Overall, this ad works because, it appeals to key things women look for in a make-up product. Women want to look and feel beautiful, so the ad team used a gorgeous, confident looking model. The average reader does not take into consideration light usage, computer enhancements, and photographic trickery. So when looking at the ad, readers subconsciously think that, Maybelline products will give one confidence, and beauty. Women also like to feel sexually attractive when they put make-up on, especially foundation. Not all women are born with acne-free skin. That’s why they make foundation!
Finally, the last text on the bottom of the ad explains Maybelline’s secret. It explains that not all ageing concerns are alike. Therefore, use Maybelline’s dual-sided applicator because you need it. The word need is so much more dominant than the word want. Need expresses that you can’t live with out it, while the word want conveys that you can take it if you like, but don’t have to.
Women always seek for society’s acceptance. Advertising also tends to make women feel that they have to be seductive. Maybelline used a wide variety of techniques to make the ad look more professional and enjoyable to look at.

If he was really for change he would have proved he was for change by working for change as a Senator, then running for President. He's too impatient for that and he thinks he's smarter than everyone and can hoodwink us all the way to the top job in the world.
He also uses Advertising tricks and slogans and thinks if he repeats the same lies over and over sooner or later he hypnotizes up to believe in HIM.

I would like to attract clients to hire me to write their business plans. Is there a market for business plan writers? I have owned and sold 6 companies (for nice profits) and have attracted investors to each company via my business plans. I have also had several companies who had seen my work hire me to write their plans. My biggest client was Sun Micro. One of the plans I generated was 78 pages! I would like to write business plans for more companies and am truly one of the best plan writers out there. How would I go about finding people that need business plans written? Should I advertise on Craigslist or have a website developed with a list of my services? I am also a marketing wiz when it comes to putting new companies on the map. I am great with slogans and am also able to get these plans into the hands of hundreds of investors. I am the best when it comes to market analysis, strategy & implementation, financial plan, profit/loss, cash flow, benchmarks, ratios etc...

2. The phrase. "Everyone Has A Secret. What's Yours?" with the web address www.backcountrysecrets.com
3. The phrase, "New in town?" with the logo and web address underneath.
