Resolved Question: When will John Cena change his T-Shirt?

As you can see, there hasn't been a new Cena shirt in a long while. The current shirt cena is wearing is the orange t-shirt with the "never give up" and "cenation" slogans on the front and the ever so popular "u can't see me" slogan on the back. Now for me, the shirt is just getting too annoying and its way too bright. Cena debuted the shirt last year at WWE's PPV Survivor Series 09. Is it just me or do you guys think cena should debut a new shirt? what are your thoughts? more

Resolved Question: Could you please comment on my Essay about propaganda analysis and give me some tips on how to improve?

The best answers will get 10 points PROPAGANDA EXPLICATION Propaganda is a tool that is used to shape opinion and influence the behaviour of the common people. Democratic nations such as the U.K. and the U.S. have used propaganda extensively in the past when they felt the need to get the support of the public for a significant purpose. Propaganda became a major industry: using famous actors, directors, artists and writers to persuade people easily and effectively. Governments commissioned everything from feature length films, to short stories that appeared in popular magazines. But the medium that most clearly illustrated the massive effort to educate and convince the public was the propaganda poster. The posters did many things. They announced messages such as “Join the Army.” They recruited women into auxiliary forces such as the WAAC (Women’s Auxiliary Army Corps). They encouraged factory workers to increase industrial production. They promoted conservation of gasoline, meat, rubber, canned foods, office supplies and more. They warned both soldiers and civilians against accidently divulging war information with the message ‘Know your Place, Shut your face.” Above all, the posters asked people to “Buy War Bonds.” To be effective, the posters had to catch and hold the viewers eye. The war propaganda poster that I have recreated is a popular type of white war propaganda. The U.S. Army had created the poster during the World War II, when the Americans were facing economic problems due to the Great Depression. The poster is directed towards the general public citizens of America and its main purpose is to recruit soldiers to assist America during the war. The poster that I have created is an allusion to Uncle Sam’s poster “I Want You” and has pastiche to Lord Kitchener’s poster. They all incorporate a set of similar propaganda techniques such as patriotism, common man approach, censorship, direct order, and assertion. All the posters also, incorporate a series of similar symbols that further facilitate in conveying the importance of conscription to the wider American public. The first main technique that I have used is the techniques of patriotism. The red and blue U.S. flag that is shown in the background of the poster is a symbol for patriotism. Through this symbol, the poster appeals to the people’s sense of patriotism and is calling upon them to join the war. This technique is very much similar to Uncle Sam’s poster, as patriotism is symbolised though the usage of the blue hat with crests of stars and this, gives importance to the national symbol of America. The posters further reinforce the fact that patriotism was an important value among the stereotypical Americans during the 40’s. My poster slogan, “We Need You” uses a direct order technique and this suggests possession and belonging towards the Americans. It appeals to common man’s sense of pride. “We” also represents the power of unity in America. In Uncle Sam’s poster, the usage of the word “You” is directed to a single reader. It suggests individualism being an imperative value for the Americans. Both the slogans assert the importance of conscription in the U.S. army. The main figure in this poster is a depleted soldier, who is a symbol of hope and valour for American community. This figure was deliberately used to inspire many young Americans, to view him as their heroes and, brainwash them to join the army. The transfer technique, is reinforced in this poster, with the usage of the American flag on the soldiers face; posturising him to be surrounded in an aura of patriotism. The soldier is an allusion to Alvin York, a famous American soldier during the World War II. Alvin was presented the medal of honour for leading an attack on the German machine gun nest. Similarly, I have also implemented pastiche in my poster; the soldier in my poster is conscripting upon American civilians to join him in the war and is very similar to the British Lord Kitchener propaganda poster. In his poster, Kitchener is conscripting the British civilians to join him in the war though the slogan “Wants You.” Kitchener was an imperative British Field Marshal and played a key role for Britain in The Battle of Omdurman. The commoners in Britain were inspired by Lord Kitchener, and to them; he was characterised as a symbol of authority and national optimism for victory. Images of soldiers in the background, looking blissfully content indicate a sense of brotherhood among them. They are a symbol of unity and equality. The usage of the U.S. flag and the soldiers promote a glorified view about the war. During the 1940’s, the U.S. implemented censorship in order to boost the morale of people; and it is this technique that I have used in my poster to conceal the negative side effects of war. If the people knew the true horrors of the battle, their attitudes towards the war would change immediately; causing a decrease in recruitments ( more

Resolved Question: What name/s do you think suits this girl (pics and description included)?

Okay this is for a character. She is around 13 years old but she is majorly small for her age and you'd be forgiven for mistaking her for just 10 or 11. She is very thin as she's had some eating-self image issues for a while that she's working through. She's the youngest and has flaming straight but thick red hair that darkens with age like many kids hair do. She occasionally curls it slightly though. Her eyes are naturally wide, almond shaped and emerald green eyes. Her lashes are dark and naturally long so she doesn't usually need mascara because she has the look as if she is. Her skin is not pale but not too rosy or tanned. She has light freckles littering across the top of her nose (across the bridge) and the tops of her cheekbones. With age however these fade like freckles tend to do. Personality wise despite problems with self image she is very loud, vivacious and sometimes very cheeky. She is the one to get into mischief and encourage others to have fun too. She loves to perform and is an excellent singer and dancer and can act quite well. She sometimes acts her way to manipulating people - she is a good girl though (generally). At school she has a short attention span and unless she is completely interested her attention span isn't much more than 20 minutes at a time or she'll start mucking about, talking etc. She is popular (not ridiculously so though) and she has many friends however she has only a handful of close ones and if you make good friends with her she is extremely loyal. However like I said she is very unfocused. She also can be quite impulsive and constantly needs adults to stop her doing stupid things as she often ends up hurt most often physically. Especially when she's young her approach to life is act now think later, not the other way around like it should be. Since she is the youngest in her family she is quite mollycoddled and her parents are overprotective. She hates it and tries her best to be as independent as possible but still needs guidance because of her personality. She is also extremely stubborn and fiery tempered, she will fight tooth and nail to protect those she loves even if that person happens to be twice her size. As for clothes she wears lace, bolder colours but NEVER pink as she hates it, stacked bangles (she has one gold not real gold charm bracelet her dead mother left for her), roman sandals, ankle high converse (patterned ones), bright coloured jeans usually skinny, black lace skirts, doc martens, brightly coloured stockings, feather, zipper or skull earrings, slogan tees etc. Her style is unique and bold. It suits her personality she isn't one to conform unless she really wants to which is rarely. more

Voting Question: Are you surprised that the Tea Party movement hasn't used the old slogan 'Better Dead than Red' of the 1950s?

Think about it, they have used the terms 'Marxist', 'Communist' and 'Socialist' to describe Obama. They brought back the slogan 'Don't Tread on Me' in popular discourse. Do you think they will use that slogan? more

Resolved Question: Just how deep, strategic, sophisticated, and complex is the board game OTHELLO?

How much does its slogan "a minute to learn, a lifetime to master" add up? How popular is this game? Is this game "solved" yet or getting close to? Is it more popular in Japan than the USA? How much does this game compare to checkers, chess, and most other abstract strategy games played on a 64 square checkerboard? What do you think of the game? more

Resolved Question: Is this a good idea for a lemonade stand?

Ok, so my brother gave me the coolest and quickest way to make money over the summer. I was gonna have a lemonade stand with a few friends. We already have the stand and stuff ready. We were gonna sell lemonade and frozen cups(frozen cups are juices that u put in the freezer like kool-aid or something and it freezes. its like an icie) Lemonade was gonna be like a $1 and the frozen cups are gonna be like 50 cents. We live in vegas and its summer time so its gonna be really really hot down here. I can sell some at the pool(already talked to the manager of the complex about that, she said its a good deal) and make alot of money to buy things, donate to haiti etc. Then once we start getting a little bit more familiar and popular, we were gonna buy some little martini plastic cups, crazy straws and those cocktail umbrellas to make it look fancy and sell that for about $2. at the pool, since theres alot of people there everyday, we were gonna sell some soda because our soda machine only has like sprite, fanta, water, dr pepper, monster..i was planning on buying sodas like rootbear, sierra mist, fanta, fruit punch, mountain dew, grape fanta, ginger ale etc and sell that for $1.25(its gonna be bottles, not cans) Im from Massachusetts and there they have something like that everyday like ice cream trucks and u see like 1 or 2 people there, here in Vegas there's like 25 people at the ice cream truck so i think this will be a good opportunity. And to top it off my cute little 5 year old sister was gonna hold the sign. I thought it might persuade some people. and we were gonna sell free samples of everything to get them started. When we make even more money, we were gonna sell finger sandwiches for an appetizer for like 50 cents to a dollar. There's gonna be sweetend and un-sweetened and ice or no ice. We're gonna have alot of lemonade in this pitcher and put it in the cooler to keep it cold and fresh and glass pitcher for the selling lemonade. Plus, our name is so cool its called Lemon N' Ice and the slogan is "Betcha cant say that 5 times fast" Cool right? I'm the manager of this group because i made up the idea, My friend jake collects the money, my friend gergie passes out the drinks, my friend dameire refills the ice, my friend billy is the caller, me and my bro make the lemonade and i work at the stand and my twin sisters hold the sign up and try to persuade them to buy one or try a sample. We all chose our jobs so im not taking over or being bossy or anything. they all voted for me to be the manager since i made the idea up. Is this good enough? Tell me what i should do more or less.i live in a gated community so we have a pool. the manager even set up this little spot where we can do our thing at and no im only 12 i dont think i need a vendors license. do i? more

Resolved Question: What is the most successful advertising slogan of all time?

I remember learning this answer by reading about it in a publication. I'm not sure if it has been surpassed by now but at the time I found out about this one, I was very surprised that it was so big. It's not the slogan that I would have guessed to be this popular. more

Resolved Question: green day, dane cook, avatar ... why do people attack everything that becomes popular?

it seems like every time something becomes widely popular, the same group of people steps in and stirs up hate about it, calling it "overrated", a "rip-off", or even just simply "mainstream", as if that automatically makes it a bad thing. green day comes out with one of the bestselling albums of the 2000s. people hate green day. dane cook is considered america's top comedian. people hate dane cook. avatar is nominated for top film award. people hate avatar. for every large fan base, there is a loud, obnoxious anti-fan base that does nothing but repeat the same slogans ... "new green day sucks, i like old green day." "dane cook is a rip-off." "it's just pocahontas with smurfs!" why? do they want to feel like they have a better, more advanced taste than normal people? maybe. are these people trying to be different, rebellious, unique? i hope not, because they always end up outnumbering the actual fans. i'm sorry, i'm starting to rant. it just makes me sad that a lot of people think that being unique means you can't appreciate things that are mainstream. more

Resolved Question: Slogans/Tips for Student Council Class President?

Hi everyone! My name is Katherine and I'm running for 8th grade Class President! I'm running against the most popular girl in the school so does anyone have any tips for me? I also need a catchy slogan that could help me win! Thank you in advance! :] more

Resolved Question: I need help with my student council election?

Ok, so I know you would all be wondering, how can a school have an election this time of year? Truth is my school is not having an election during this time. Before the election, which is all the way in October, i want to be prepared. I'm going into seventh grade next year and I'm planning to run for vice president. Here are some of my ideas so far: we can have different themes for activity nites since they are boring. The themes are heaven and hell, the 70's, the 80's, American Idol with people actually singing, Hawaiian/the beach,Winter Wonderland, Thriller/Halloween, and maybe even candy land, with sugar free CANDY and homemade sweets of course. Also we can have a karaoke night. - To actually earn money for these, we can have car washes and bake sales, which my school doesn't have. - we can have actually HEALTHY foods at school and maybe even replace some of the ice cream with frozen yogurt. We can also get actually fresh salad, we can have a healthy challenge day for ALL grades, and we can have a recycling day on earth day where all the kids wear gloves and look for items in the school to recycle, and the class with the most recycled items will win a prize or a pizza party or something. - We can have a spirit week with pajama day, our traditional pep rally, spirit song day(the kids in the grade can form groups and make a song about our school, that too can be a contest.), crazy hair day, crazy outfit day, dress like a celebrity day, and a sports day where everyone can play games and soprts. Since my name is safaya my slogans would be, VOTE FOR SAFAYA, TRUST ME SHE DOESN"T THINK LIKE A PAPAYA A VOTE FOR ME IS VICTORY, VOTE FOR SAFAYA, TEE HEE. A SONG DURING MY SPEECH WOULD BE: FILET OF FISH THEMED LOL GIVE ME YOUR VOTE, PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR V V VOTE YOU KNOW IF IT WERE YOU STANDING ON THIS STAGE, I WOULD G GIVE YOU MY VOTE, I WOULD G GVIE YOU MY VOTE. There is one thing I am worried about. The popular kids always run and they always win, do you think people will actually vote for me? I need all the help I can get. So please give me your opinion on my ideas and any ideas you have. K thanks bye! more

I am running for Junior class treasurer and don't know what to write my speech on or a good slogan. any help? Nothing rhymes with my first name but my last name is Cole if that helps. I'm not popular but I have a fair amount of connections. We are allowed one big poster and can hand out things to the students such as t-shirts (can get pricey), or bracelets or ribbons or something. Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Why are the Borg portrayed as evil?

Star Trek: The Borg are normally the bad guys. I can't understand why the producers did this. They have cybernetic implants that make them stronger & smarter than humans, & possibly have longer life spans. They have advanced thought processing & augmentation technologies aka the 'hive mind'. They have what can be described as a 'mental intenet'. Every drone is linked to an intellegence far superior to his own, and benefits from it. Star Trek has done a bad job of portraying such a society. I can imagine a real-world 'collective'. They'd be so popular people would be getting in line to join. Imagine their recruitment slogan: "Join the Borg! Get stronger without steroids! Live till 1000! Instantly access the brightest minds in the galaxy!" Of course, a real Borg collective probably wouldn't have zombie-automatons and a really bad workplace environment. For a culture obsessed with perfection, you'd think they'd get over 'green' and do something about those annoying sparky flashes that go off every now and then. more

Voting Question: Ideas for 'Specsavers' animation?

Resolved Question: What are the different types of nationalism? (see details)?

Ok, don't say I didn't do my homework, because I did. But I'm having some trouble with understanding the differences between the different types of nationalism. I looked through my textbook but they don't explain it in a clear enough way for me to understand. Could someone please explain to me the differences between these types? I'm including an excerpt of my book so you can see what exactly I'm getting at. "Types of nationalism: Nationalism may manifest itself as part of official state ideology or as a popular (non-state) movement and may be expressed along civic, ethnic, cultural, religious or ideological lines. These self-definitions of the nation are used to classify types of nationalism. However such categories are not mutually exclusive and many nationalist movements combine some or all of these elements to varying degrees. Nationalist movements can also be classified by other criteria, such as scale and location. Civic nationalism is the form of nationalism in which the state derives political legitimacy from the active participation of its citizenry, from the degree to which it represents the "will of the people". As a form of nationalism it is contrasted with ethnic nationalism. Membership of the civic nation is considered voluntary. Civic-national ideals influenced the development of representative democracy in countries such as the United States and France. Ethnic nationalism defines the nation in terms of ethnicity, which always includes some element of descent from previous generations. It also includes ideas of a culture shared between members of the group and with their ancestors, and usually a shared language. Membership in the nation is hereditary. The state derives political legitimacy from its status as homeland of the ethnic group, and from its function to protect the national group and facilitate its cultural and social life, as a group. Ethnic nationalism is now the dominant form. Romantic nationalism reflected the ideals of Romanticism and was opposed to Enlightenment rationalism. Romantic nationalism emphasized a historical ethnic culture which meets the Romantic Ideal; folklore developed as a Romantic nationalist concept. Cultural nationalism defines the nation by shared culture. Membership in the nation is neither voluntary (you cannot instantly acquire a culture), nor hereditary (children of members may be considered foreigners if they grew up in another culture). Chinese nationalism is one example of cultural nationalism, partly because of the many national minorities in China. (The 'Chinese nationalists' include those in Taiwan who reject the mainland Chinese government but claim the mainland Chinese state). State nationalism is a variant on civic nationalism, very often combined with ethnic nationalism. It implies that the nation is a community of those who contribute to the maintenance and strength of the state, and that the individual exists to contribute to this goal. Italian fascism is the best example, epitomized in this slogan of Mussolini: "Everything in the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State". Religious nationalism defines the nation in terms of shared religion. If the state derives political legitimacy from adherence to religious doctrines, then it may be more of a theocracy than a nation-state. In practice, much ethnic and cultural nationalism is in some way religious. The religion is usually a marker of group identity, rather than the motivation for nationalist claims. For example, Irish nationalism is associated with Catholicism. Most Irish nationalist leaders of the last 100 years were Catholic, but many of the early (18th century) nationalists were Protestant. Irish nationalism never centered on theological distinctions. Similarly, although Religious Zionism exists, the mainstream of Zionism is more secular in nature, and based on culture and ethnicity. Since India gained independence, Indian nationalism has been associated with Hinduism. In modern India, a contemporary form of Hindu nationalism, or Hindutva has been prominent among some groups. Diaspora nationalism (or, as Benedict Anderson terms it, "long-distance nationalism") generally refers to nationalist feeling among a diaspora. A diaspora refers to any people forced or induced to leave their traditional ethnic homelands. African-Americans in the U.S. are a part of the African diaspora, along with other Africa-rooted people throughout the world. Other diaspora include the Irish in the United States and the Lebanese in the Americas and Africa. Anderson states that Diaspora nationalism acts as a "phantom bedrock" for people who want to experience a national connection, but who do not actually want to leave their diaspora community." Thanks so much! :) more

Resolved Question: why do we love mars bars so much when its the cost as gone up and as been size down?

In 2002, the UK Mars bar was reformulated and repackaged.[4] The nougat was made lighter, the chocolate on top became noticeably thinner, and the overall weight of the bar was reduced slightly. This was met with outrage from Mars purists, as in a sales pitch to local media in Slough, the change in ingredients was to follow the trend of its sister the Milky Way bar, the Double Decker and 5 Star bars. Product designers at The Mars Candy Company in the US, put this down to nostalgia over the past hugely popular Starbar which also contained the same reinvented 'light whipped nougatine.' The packaging was also redesigned with a less-bold and a more cursive logo. The famous slogan "A Mars a day helps you work, rest and play" was written by William Dagnall as a competition tie breaker in 1966 but often erroneously attributed to Murray Walker[5] This was replaced with "Pleasure you can't measure", a re-branding intended to appeal to a more feminine, youthful market.[6] Various sizes are made: miniature bars called "Fun Size" (19.7g) and "Snack Time" (36.5g) (both sold in multiple packs); a larger multi-pack size of 54g; the regular sized single 58g bar and a "king-size" (also called Adam-sized) 84g bar which has since been replaced by "Mars Duo" (91g) - a pack that contains 2 smaller bars instead of 1 large one. The regular 58 gram single bar contains 259 calories. In the second half of 2008, Mars UK reduced the size of regular bars from 62.5g to the current 58g. Although the reduction in size was not publicised at the time, Mars claimed the change was designed to help tackle the obesity crisis in the UK. The company later confirmed that the real reason for the change was triggered by rising costs.[7] [8] In the UK, most Mars bars are still made at the Slough Trading Estate. more

Resolved Question: is it acceptable to raise issues under the banner of feminism that are not exclusively faced by women?

anti-feminists often critisize feminism on the grounds that many of the issues that they raise are just not exclusive to women. but they are made into 'womens issues' and projected as if women are the only sufferers of it and that they are as a result of patriarchy. this leads to an undeserved sympathy and towards women. for eg : womens health recessions impact on women obesity/fat (fat is a feminist issue....the popular slogan) living conditions of poor women workers it can be argued that certain issues are not GENDER SPECIFIC. so should feminist make a distinction between issues that are gender related and affect only women from those that affect humans as a whole? more

Resolved Question: True or False: God hates the sin but not the sinner?

I often hear people use the phrase, God hates the sin not the sinner. Is that entirely and universally true? Consider the following verse Luke 13:5 "unless you repent, you will all likewise perish." “Repent or Perish” forces people to ponder seriously the popular slogan, “God hates the sin and loves the sinner.” Is a necessary repentance consistent with “God loves the sinner?” If God loves the sinner while he is alive, it is strange that God sends him to hell as soon as he dies. God loves the sinner to death? Loves him to everlasting torment? more

Resolved Question: Does he like me? (10 points)?

If you don't feel like reading all of this, skim through or read only a few paragraphs. I'd really appreciate it if you read the whole thing though. Okay, so this guy rides my school bus. I was running for student council and my slogan was really catchy, and I had made stickers that had my slogan on them. This girl (she doesn't have a crush on him and he doesn't have a crush on her her) taped one of my stickers on his backpack for fun. He ended up knowing my slogan and whenever I see him he yells it out. (even though the election was like 3 months ago) I have to see him every other day because his homeroom is where I have to go every other morning to put my instrument in. Whenever he sees me he yells out my slogan and even though i say he's annoying, I secretly really like it. One time I was on the bus, and I looked over at him and he was staring at me. I tried an experiment. When I saw him staring at me, instead of looking away i continued to stare into his eyes. After about 2 seconds i stopped because it was too terrifying. He just kept staring. He has a snobby girlfriend that I heard he regrets going out with, so I feel i have a chance with him. On the bus sometimes my friend and I bother/talk to him and his friend. Also on facebook a couple of times he typed in my slogan to me. He's really funny but is sometimes quiet like me. In case you guys were wondering, my friend said I was probably the 2nd (if not 2nd, 3rd) most popular girl on our team. (Our school split our grade into 3 teams, about 90 people per team. You can only have the same classes with people on your team, so usually you only interact with people on your team). Also my best friend said that a lot of guys like me. I'm single right now, and in a lot of cases (in my school) the guys who like the girls don't have the guts to ask the girl out. Does he like me? 10 points to most thorough answer :)i'm in junior high...our version of "dating" is saying you're going out, but not really going out. We do all the sweet stuff that regular couples do, just not the "going to the movies" part. Rarely any of us get to kissing :P more

Resolved Question: GWS: Do you agree with this essay, "If Black Women Were White Women"?

Black women would represent value, purity, and based on their natural traits; be worthy of protection and instantly become the objects of universal desire. White women would represent the opposite. “Beauty tar potion” would become globally popular to get the “black look”. “Dove” would be replaced with a black soap called “Raven” to help exfoliate the skin and bring out subtle hints of melanin. White female features would be declared violent. Their “jagged” thin lips, “knife sharp” noses, and “harsh” jaw lines would be nature's way of declaring why men have a natural preference for the soft features of black women. Soft lips, soft cheekbones, and soft round noses would be proof of natural femininity. Full pink lips and large dark eyes would become associated with virginal black girls, whose purity must not be compromised. Black female features would thus be said to represent youth. Straight blond hair would be considered “wild and unruly” because when the wind blows, it does not stay in place. Women with natural straight hair would hide their “unruly” and “wild” stick-straight hair in public. The desire for “Lightweight hair” that defies gravity would permanently end the use of blow dryers. Keeping ones natural blond hair wild and straight would become indicative of a political statement. The anti-aging properties of black female skin combined with soft curvy bodies would be proof of the overall reproductive health of black women. Scientists would argue that black women are naturally preferred as long term mates and mothers because they are “healthier”. Men’s attraction to women is based on overall health and fertility, after all. Suddenly biracial women would be “in” because the hard features of white women didn’t prevent the fragile genes of “black beauty” from peeking through. Men would suddenly have the desire to date “ethnic” non-black women since they look “closer to black” than blond women, and at least they don’t look like white women. Statistics would equate the fact that white women make up the majority with their “overpowering” and “strong” population. This would be proof that they can handle unsafe neighborhoods, as they have created a “strong culture” amongst themselves to withstand their lack of protection from predators and criminals. Statisticians would argue that men are attracted to black women innately because they make up a small percent of the population. “We tend to value what is rare” they might say. Men would proclaim that white women deserve sexual objectification because “flat buttocks” allow for deeper penetration. In ghettos across America, men would stand on street corners and yell “Damn! You got a flat azz!” to remind white women of their sexual status in society. Upper class women would be afraid that their “azz looks flat” and therefore assumed to be animalistic and sexually deviant, like white women. Black women’s buttocks, said to protrude farther from the body, would prove that their natural vulnerability makes them “less equipped” to handle hardcore sex and rape, like white women. “I need a strong white woman!” would become a popular “empowering” slogan for exploitative men who rationalized the emotional, financial, and sexual overburdening of white women. Overweight white nannies would become the “acceptable white women” in popular culture as they do not pose a threat to black female superiority and privilege. Conventionally attractive white women would serve as a sexual threat to black women for single-handedly breaking down the beauty hierarchy. Hip Hop videos would feature men throwing money at “white b*tchez” bent over in front of the camera to showcase their white asses, eager for deep penetration. Entire songs would be devoted to hatred of “white gold digging b*tchez” who think they are entitled to the financial security in marriage that black women are entitled to. “Penetrable white asses” and “pale-faced hoes” would become the cash-commodity for selling entire musical genres. White women’s “hard” bodies would be deemed more “capable” of fighting off sexual attackers, and the soft curves of black female bodies would become worthy of law enforcement. White women; in spite of their high risks for violence and sexual crimes, would not “need” police protection. Movies would feature black women as the main objects of men’s desire across racial lines, while stereotypes of evil bitter and oversexed white women would further prove why men of all races simply did not prefer blondes. We can’t help who we’re attracted to, men would say. “Preference” would become an unconcealed acceptance of discrimination against white women. White women’s anger and sadness at the status quo would be proof of their unreasonable jealousy of the innate superiority of black women. Republicans would ban abortions to protect the virtue of pure black motherhood, and liberals would advocate for more abortion clinics in “low income” neighborhoods where whiteMovies would feature black women as the main objects of men’s desire across racial lines, while stereotypes of evil bitter and oversexed white women would further prove why men of all races simply did not prefer blondes. We can’t help who we’re attracted to, men would say. “Preference” would become an unconcealed acceptance of discrimination against white women. White women’s anger and sadness at the status quo would be proof of their unreasonable jealousy of the innate superiority of black women. Republicans would ban abortions to protect the virtue of pure black motherhood, and liberals would advocate for more abortion clinics in “low income” neighborhoods where white women are the majority. Liberals would claim that white women have “culturally” approved of sexual objectification and are “safe enough” without outside help since they were warned not to touch “in-group issues” with a ten foot pole... Voting Question: Proofread research paper please? Ten points!?

These are my first 4 paragraphs. Thanks! The Beauty and Grace of Rock City Planet Earth is full of many marvelous, majestic landscapes. Rock City, located in the Chattanooga area of Tennessee, is a landscape that has a lot to boast for. Located on a breathtaking mountain, Rock City has astonishing views and breathtaking scenery. However beautiful, the landscape is not the only detail Rock City has to boast for. A great place to explore and have fun, this tourist attraction is also brimming over with centuries full of history. It was founded by a couple in the early nineteenth century. They contributed to the most popular attractions in Rock City and helped create it into what it is today. Its rich history, however, begins before this. Rather, it starts way back when few people even inhibited Rock City. According to the earliest known history of Rock City, Native Americans were the first to settle in this area, later to be followed by visiting missionaries. Later, in the 1800’s, Rock City became a battleground when a Civil War was briefly fought on this location. The history of Rock City, deep and thrilling, is an interesting part of its culture. Long before it was a tourist attraction, Rock City was the home to Native Americans. Most historians believe that primarily the Creek and Cherokee tribes inhabited this area. Matter of fact, a popular Cherokee chief, John Ross, lived in this area in the 1800’s. He became chief to the Cherokee Nation in 1827. Impressively, when the Indian Removal Bill was passed a few years later, Ross’s fight against Georgia’s land lottery begin the first of many political battles. Unfortunately, he still had to walk the Trail of Tears with his people. Much later, in 1863, the Battle of Lookout Mountain during the Civil War occurred in this area. Ulysses S. Grant, the Union commander, ordered his soldiers, “to storm lookout Mountain”( U.S. Civil War Photographs). Eventually, the Union pushed back the Confederates and took complete control of the mountain. Once the Confederates gave up, the Union soldiers, “climbed to Point Lookout and planted the U.S. flag” (U.S. Civil War Photographs). One of the Union officers made a remark in a “diary entry saying that one could see seven states from the summit at ‘the Rock City’” (History of Rock City). After the completion of this battle, however, there was nothing in Rock City in which to hold the interest of the general population. For many years, Rock City was seemingly unknown to many people except for its few inhabits, hikers, and some geologists. However, Rock City had a greater fate: it would not forever be forgotten, rather it would rise as a well-known tourist attraction all over the United States. This is thanks to a humble man named Garnet Carter who would one day rise to fame and popularity. Carter, married to Frieda Carter, begin to take part in a recently developing community called Fairyland in Lookout Mountain in 1924. He began to build a golf course. However, this would not be any ordinary golf course. Because it was taking too long to build, he instead designed the first known miniature golf course called “Tom Thumb Golf Course.” Meanwhile, Mrs. Carter took on a new project of her own. Deeply passionate about nature, she decided to form the Rock City Gardens. Bravely, on her own, she, “took a ball of string and marked a trail winding through the giant rock formations all the way out to Lover’s Leap.” (History of Rock City). This amazing feat and show of determination impressed her husband. Carter began to help her. With his help, Rock City Gardens was officially opened on May 21, 1932. Initially, it was not huge success. Rock City, nestled in the mountains, was extremely hard to find. Hence, the famous, bright, red barns with the slogan, “Come see Rock City”, was created. Carter, an obviously intelligent man, hired Clark Byers to paint signs on the roofs of barns along many highways. The majority of these signs read, “Come see Rock City.” Conveniently, some of the signs, “told the mileage to Rock City, the best highway, or some simply bore the slogan. The signs could be found as far north as Michigan and as far west as Texas. By the end of the 1930’s the signs paid off, and more people than ever visited Rock City Gardens” (History of Rock City). These are now seen as not only part of the rich history of Rock City, but also as part of the southern culture. However, the number of these barns are now dwindling. There use to be about 900 of these. Now, about 74 years later, there are only around 100 of these left. Many of these barns are, “disappearing, bowing to time’s decay or being replaced by other marketing mediums.” (Barn History). As Byers patiently explained to many tourists, these signs were no simple designs. While painting them, Byers not only had to make his own paint, but also used a 4 inch brush while he freehandedly painted it. These signs are truly a work of patience, determination, and skill more

Resolved Question: Why didn't South Africa have this level of corruption under white rule?

Now look at the article below that discusses how their corruption has resulted in their country mysteriously paying over $800 million for aircraft that other countries buy for less than $200 million. "It is believed that the price went up so that government officials could siphon off large bribes." This is post apartheid improvement? This is only one corruption item in a long and growing list. From: http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htmurph/articles/20091023.aspx The Flying Cash Machine October 23, 2009: Yet another corruption case in South Africa. This time, members of parliament are asking why the military is suddenly paying $809 million each for eight A400M four engine transports. The price other nations are paying for the aircraft are under $200 million each. The price South Africa agreed to pay, in 2005, was about $279 million, and included training, maintenance support and some spare parts. It is believed that the price went up so that government officials could siphon off large bribes. Meanwhile, the A400M aircraft is four years behind schedule, and has not flown yet. It was originally to start deliveries to European customers this year. South Africa is supposed to begin getting its A400Ms in seven years. South Africa has already paid $400 million for its A400Ms, and more progress payments will soon be due. Such blatant corruption is not new in South Africa, but lately the crooks have been winning. Last year, the South African parliament passed a law disbanding an elite government investigation unit nicknamed the "Scorpions." Investigations by this unit had led to dozens of corruption prosecutions of government officials. That's why the unit is being dismantled. Corruption is a major problem throughout Africa, and many nations are now setting up units like the Scorpions, after having realized that corruption was the major cause of the poverty and civil wars that afflict most Africans. But the corrupt politicians and government officials tend to prove very resilient when confronted with the possibility of being punished. Those that cannot use their money to bribe or litigate their way out of trouble, often seek to dismantle the anti-corruption organizations themselves. There is much popular unrest over this sort of thing. In South Africa, the ANC, which has ruled the country since the white minority agreed to democracy in the early 1990s, is breaking apart. The anti-corruption faction is out to start a reform party that will take on the crooked politicians who dominate the government. At least the corrupt politicians are being challenged, but so far the bad guys are still winning. Africa's future depends on achieving clean, or at least much cleaner, government. Revolutions alone won't do it, because that tends to just replace one bunch of corrupt politicians with a new crew, spouting new slogans. The A400M has a top speed of 779 kilometers per hour, a range of 7,500 kilometers, and normally carries about 27 tons. The nearest competitor is the American C-130. The most common version is the C-130H. It has a range of 8,368 kilometers, a top speed of 601 kilometers per hour, and can carry up to 18 tons of cargo, 92 troops, or 64 paratroopers. The latest version, the C-130J, has a top speed of 644 kilometers, 40 percent more range than the C130H, and can carry 20 tons of cargo. The C-130J costs about $100 million each. The C-130 has been in service for over half a century, and is used by more than 50 countries. more
