Its regarding the silhoutte image of someone listening to an ipod: please give any tips Dear editor, I am writing to you in regards to the silhouette photo of a young male adveritsed by Apple. This image represents youth listening to their ipod with a lightning bolt coming out of the earpiece. It is clearly encouraging youth to listen to their Ipods at a high volume. As an older male that is experiencing hearing problems first hand, oviousl teens don't understand the impact their Ipods are having on their hearing. Any sound exceeding 105 decibels that is listened to for 15 minutes can cause damage to the hearing. Personal music players on loud, which 24% of youth play their music on, is 112 decibels. Youth are listening to their Ipods for a lot longer than 15 minutes and its obvious they are damaging their hearing. The image advertised by Apple is sending out the wrong message. Youth need to be educated and shown the exact damage listening to their Ipod's loudly can result in. Apple needs to consider their advertising slogan a lot more carefully and what kind of message they are sending out to youth, unless they want a generation of people being deaf at the age of 20. What I am going to say applies to all the western world -- but the Yanks populate this board and are the current Empire of our time .... so : Do you pay income tax ? Do you understand what that means or are you too dumb too brainwashed or just to scared to say it out loud ? Income tax came into being as a war measure --- Governments somehow operated without it before but can not operate without it now --- or so they tell us. Income tax --- it is a tax on earnings from labour --- as soon as you say that you admit a portion of the proceeds of your labour is owned by someone else Slavery --- by percentage -- does that suggest maybe someone really does hate you're freedoms but it started long before any 9/11 ever happened Property tax that is levied upon property --- which if unpaid results in eviction from your so called purchased or "owned lands" You are going to pay a % on the property you own for the police the fire dept and other essential services or the State reserves the right to make you homeless -- Anciently when Kings did this the people were horrified -- roofs were burned houses torn down in the Kingdoms of old for non payment of the Kings rent for the lands which HE OWNED and for currency or commodity allowed them to occupy --- In exchange the King provided certain services such as protecting the neighboring King from becoming their new owner ---- Property tax So how much per hour are you worth anyway ? Depending on you're education upbrining and connections you will be worth more or less than the next guy Some services are worth more --- others are unimportant Where we used to live in villages where the welfare of all persons was the concern of the whole -- we tried to make good decisions --- not to limit the choices of another but to offer a helping hand Now the majority live in cities --- no one would ever say anything because the idea of the individual as taught to you by Bearnaise the modern master of adverting in the 20th century used it as a means to sell products by appealing to the unconscious You have likely never heard of this man --- who was hired to sell women cigarettes because the tobacco company was missing half the market without them--- This man launched a campaign selling cigarettes to women as "sexy" which saw cancer rates among women soar -- That is the root of advertising in the 20th century in the western world --- I bet no one ever told you You claim to fight for freedom -- do you even know what it means --- You make claims against others the slave yelling slogans while in chains he says are not there Will the American coward ever grow a set ?I understand -you are scared - YOU know there is a line -- if you do not pay income tax then the police will come to your door and throw you in a cage where absolute cruelty is accepted and encouraged - They will take everything you own put you in a cage and if you are lucky you can get a job for 2 or 3 dollars and hour and likely be so brainwashed as to think you should thank them for the privatize of working - a few bucks at the feeding zoo for the cages animals who are in need of correction The Kings dungeon -- Of course you are scared but do you have to be so brainwashed as to cheer when police beat people at a rally gas them and throw them in cages for just demonstrating without a permit --- -- California for voting the wrong way those stupid liberals -- Isn't it convenient for the state that you now see their actions as just good and always in your best interest How do they differ from the Kings bailiffs and sheriffs? You aren't a brainwashed cult ? Really? moreResolved Question: Element Riddles Help?

It could also be for the people that are sick of the lipgloss drying too fast or people that just want a glossy upgrade. Rimmel London is the logo for the unique lip-sculpting wand lip gloss. Some manufacturers like their products to royal family by having the crown symbol on their packaging. Rimmel may be trying to add gravitas to their product by using a crown symbol. It further suggests that if you start buying lipgloss from Rimmel London you will have a “London look” to you. The connotative could be that it makes women look gorgeous when it’s placed on their lips. It has a longer lasting feel to it. This ad has a different layout from most other ads. This lady grabs the attention from such a big photograph of her. They are also trying to position the viewer by making them think that when you wear it you are going to look, beautiful, younger and getting the old fashion London look. At the bottom of the woman’s photograph is Lily Coles, who is also wearing stay glossy shade, but her picture is in black and white. She is representing as a London girl. There are smudges of lipgloss on the left and right corner of the page. On the bottom it says the product is available from: Priceline, Kmart, Target, Big W, selected Coles supermarkets and selected Pharmacies nationally or even from rimmellondone.com.au. The advertisers are convincing the people to buy it because it’s cheap from those selected, not expensive shops like Myer or Calvin Klein. There are various colours that the manufacturers used for this, including black and white images. The image they use were the pictures of different colour of lip gloss. The woman that has the lip gloss on and the black and white image represents two different ways that lipgloss looks beautiful in. This is my essay which I've just completed. Please correct my faults if you can and give me your opinion. Thank so much ! TOPIC: HOW MANY TYPES OF ADVERTISING ARE THERE? PRESENT THE FEATURES AND EXAMPLES OF EACH TYPE. ANALYZE THE APPROPRIATENESS OF THEM. Nowadays, almost companies can’t lack advertising to introduce their products or services to market. There are many types of advertising. Each type has different role and appropriateness. So, this essay will focus on three types in three paragraphs. Introducing about print advertising in the first paragraph; and then, introducing mass media advertising in the second paragraph; and finally, introducing outdoor advertising in the third paragraph. Today, advertising products via print media is a common practice. The print media include all newspapers, newsletters, magazines, booklets, pamphlets, and other printed publications. The role of print advertising is to offers basic information about the company, their products or services to the selected audiences. Most print media are local. Magazines, on the other hand, have always been national, although there is a trend today toward localization and specialization. There are a huge amount newspapers and magazines are published everyday. But only some types tend to a particular group people. For examples, sporty newspapers are written for men, teenage magazines for teenagers, etc. Therefore, select the right type of newspapers or magazines is important decision of the company, which may reach larger selected audiences. According to a statistic, in Vietnam, at present, there are about 600 newspapers and magazines. Almost companies, which are operating in Vietnam, are advertising via print media; for examples, Vinamilk, FPT, Honda, etc. Mass media advertising is popular most and impact in people’s awareness of the companies and their products. This type includes TV, radio and internet. Mass media advertising is more than simply persuasive messages. Through text and through images, the ad conveys values and beliefs, and these have meanings for those who read, listen or watch them. In this type, cost is the main obstacle for companies which want to advertise on TV. Moreover, just as print ad, mass media ad also has many channels tend to many different objects. Consequently, if the company advertises with reasonable duration and right channel, the company will not waste more money and their advertising still effective. Due to the great role of mass media in the life, nowadays, there are many companies use mass media for their main publicity. For instance, Unilever present their products as OMO and Comfort, P&G with Tide and Downy, etc. Outdoor advertising, one of the oldest and most enduring forms of advertising, is advertising on signs that are located outdoors in public places. This form includes billboards, trade fairs, sporting evens, etc. Outdoor advertising captures the viewer's attention 24 hours a day. True, it has limited coverage. But a well-planned outdoor campaign can effectively cover most major markets. The main features of this type are brevity of the message and cannot target customer. So, the message usually is slogan of the company, such as Canon Corporation with the slogan is “Delighting you always” or Toyota with sentence “Moving forward”, etc. In short, using which types and using on which time is important decision of the company. In my opinion, with carefully choosing, the company can get what they need from all the variable advertisements moreResolved Question: proofread my essay and add pointers please?
“Maybe she’s born with it. Maybe it’s Maybelline.” We’ve heard this on TV, read it in a magazine or on the Internet. It’s everywhere. The ad tries to accomplish that the model was not born with “beauty”, but it came from applying the makeup to her skin. Maybelline is known for their bold advertising using beautiful women with flawless faces. Their two-paged color ad in last months People magazine is no different from the old. The use of sex appeal, color, and text is what make another effective make-up ad. Companies spend billions of dollars each year on ads using these techniques along with the main initiative: Sex sells. The developers of this advertisement use techniques to persuade the public to buy their product, guaranteeing that they will give them the beauty they always dreamed of or seen. Maybelline’s newest cream foundation ad used a stunning female with radiant skin to lure in women to buy their product. Her gentle green eyes are what first grab ones attention when flipping through the magazine. The sultry look in her eyes suggests that she feels sexy wearing the foundation. It is irresistible to stare an extra moment. Everyday women are looking for ways to improve or change their look. A beautiful woman can sell more products than a hideous woman merely because hideous woman is not appealing. The model is positioned to the left of the page, with text to the right. First of all, the layout needs to be simple and organized. A simple neat ad is powerful by keeping the reader’s focus on face of the model. Could this really be her natural look? No, of course not. It is obvious that the photographer used light and colours to enhance the glow of her skin. The placement of lights in the studio illuminates her face. Her head is tilted just left, so the left right of her face is slightly shadowed. Shadowing this way keeps the reader’s focus on face. If the light was shining below the model, it would give a spooky effect. Proper placement of the lights is important because it sets a certain mood. Older women want to look young again. “NEW INSTANT AGE REWIND!” These four words are so powerful and commanding. The text stands out because the word NEW is highlighted and the entire sentence is in upper case letters. To the right of the model is, “REWIND THE YEARS, INSTANTLY! NOW, CUSTOM RADIANT PERFECTION AT YOUR FINGERTIPS.” This entitles that perfection is easy access and there is no need of cosmetic surgeries. Only with the appliance of Maybelline’s cream foundation. Under the text are more attention grabbers. Halfway down the page shows a picture of the special pad. In a short few sentences it explains the use of the product. Underneath the pad is a picture of the actual foundation. This was done so when the customer spots the product in the store, they will remember the how magnificent the foundation looked on the model. The urge to buy the product rushes through their mind. To appeal to a variety of women, Maybelline shows that the foundation is available in other skin tones. Certainly a dark skinned woman would not buy a light tone because it would not blend with her skin. By including other tones, the advertisers again try to entice you to buy this foundation. Maybelline’s classic logo is stretches across the entire bottom of the two-paged ad. They did this so the reader would not be distracted from the model’s portrait or the introduction of the new foundation. Under the large logo is Maybelline’s slogan, “Maybe she’s born with it. Maybe it’s Maybelline.” Earlier in the essay I explained that this slogan tricks readers into thinking they will become a princess if they apply this foundation to their skin. On top of the Maybelline logo is the website for those interested in learning more about Maybelline. Overall, this ad works because, it appeals to key things women look for in a make-up product. Women want to look and feel beautiful, so the ad team used a gorgeous, confident looking model. The average reader does not take into consideration light usage, computer enhancements, and photographic trickery. So when looking at the ad, readers subconsciously think that, Maybelline products will give one confidence, and beauty. Women also like to feel sexually attractive when they put make-up on, especially foundation. Not all women are born with acne-free skin. That’s why they make foundation! Finally, the last text on the bottom of the ad explains Maybelline’s secret. It explains that not all ageing concerns are alike. Therefore, use Maybelline’s dual-sided applicator because you need it. The word need is so much more dominant than the word want. Need expresses that you can’t live with out it, while the word want conveys that you can take it if you like, but don’t have to. Women always seek for society’s acceptance. Advertising also tends to make women feel that they have to be seductive. Maybelline used a wide variety of techniques to make the ad look more professional and enjoyable to look at. moreVoting Question: I want to work in Advertising/marketing?

It is not just in Iraq that the political Left has an investment in failure. Domestically as well as internationally, the Left has long had a vested interest in poverty and social malaise. The old advertising slogan, “Progress is our most important product,” has never applied to the Left. Whether it is successful black schools in the United States or third-world countries where millions of people have been rising out of poverty in recent years, the left has shown little interest. Progress in general seems to hold little interest for people who call themselves “progressives.” What arouses them are denunciations of social failures and accusations of wrongdoing. One wonders what they would do in heaven. We are in no danger of producing heaven on earth but there have been some remarkable developments in some third-world countries within the past generation that have allowed many very poor people to rise to a standard of living that was never within their reach before. The August 18 issue of the distinguished British magazine The Economist reveals the economic progress in Brazil, Argentina, and other Latin American nations that has given a better life to millions of their poorest citizens. Some of the economic policies that have led to these results are discussed in The Economist but it is doubtful that members of the political left will stampede there to find out what those policies were. They have shown no such interest in how tens of millions of people in China and tens of millions of people in India have risen out of poverty within the past generation. Despite whatever the left may say, or even believe, about their concern for the poor, their actual behavior shows their interest in the poor to be greatest when the poor can be used as a focus of the Left's denunciations of society. When the poor stop being poor, they lose the attention of the Left. What actions on the part of the poor, or what changes in the economy, have led to drastic reductions in poverty seldom arouse much curiosity, much less celebration. This is not a new development in our times. Back in the 19th century, when Karl Marx presented his vision of the impoverished working class rising to attack and destroy capitalism, he was disappointed when the workers grew less revolutionary over time, as their standards of living improved. At one point, Marx wrote to his disciples: “The working class is revolutionary or it is nothing.” Think about that. Millions of human beings mattered to him only in so far as they could serve as cannon fodder in his jihad against the existing society. If they refused to be pawns in his ideological game, then they were “nothing.” No one on the left would say such things so plainly today, even to themselves. But their actions speak louder than words. Blacks are to the Left today what the working class were to Marx in the 19th century — pawns in an ideological game. Blacks who rise out of poverty are of no great interest to the Left, unless the way they do so is by attacking society. The poverty rate among black married couples has been in single digits since 1994 but the Left has shown no more interest in why that is so than they have shown in why many millions of people have risen out of poverty in Latin America or in China and India. Where progress can be plausibly claimed to be a result of policies favored by the left, then such claims are made. A whole mythology has grown up that the advancement of minorities and women in America is a result of policies promoted by the Left in the 1960s. Such claims are often based on nothing more substantial than ignoring the history of the progress made prior to 1960. Retrogressions in the wake of the policies of the 1960s are studiously ignored — the runaway crime rates, the disintegration of black families, and the ghetto riots of the 1960s that have left many black communities still barren more than 40 years later. Whatever does not advance the Left agenda is “nothing.” moreResolved Question: whose bible is the absolute correct version?
