Ok so i'm 18 and i'm like obsessed with Victoria's Secret so I want to see what other high school/college girls think. How old are you? What collections do you wear? (PINK, Sexy Little Things, Very Sexy, etc) What kind(s) of underwear do you wear? Archimedes, who was born in Syracuse, Sicily in 287BC, was a Greek mathematician and inventor. His father, Phidias, was an astronomer and related to the king of Syracuse, King Hieron II. Archimedes spent some time of his life in Alexandria, Egypt. It was there that he was educated. His first invention was built in Egypt, a mechanical water pump, now called Archimedes’ screw. When he arrived back in Syracuse, he devoted his life to the study of mathematics. Archimedes invented many war machines used to defend his hometown including a mirror that was designed to sink the enemies ships. His greatest accomplishment was the discovery of how a sphere was 2/3 the volume of a cylinder that had an equal height and width. Archimedes also discovered a way to find the measurement of a circle and the volume of solids. One of Archimedes’ famous discoveries was the ‘The Golden Crown’. King Hieron suspected that his crown wasn’t made out of pure gold. He gave the crown to Archimedes and asked him to figure out if the gold was mixed with another metal. Archimedes thought long and hard about this problem. He couldn’t work it out so he went to the baths to think about it. As he was stepping into the bath, he noticed water going over the edge. He thought about this and then had an idea. He was so excited he ran into the streets naked, shouting “Eureka! Eureka!” He’s idea was to fill up a jug to the rim and then place the crown in. He then measured the amount of water that went over the sides. Next, he repeated this again, but with a lump of gold the same weight as the crown. Archimedes noticed that the amount of water the crown displaced was more than the lump of gold. This meant that the crown was made with mixed metals and not the pure gold. Archimedes also wrote many laws about mathematics. One of his most famous sayings was, “Give me a place to stand on, and I will move the Earth." As well as a mathematician and inventor, he was also interested in astronomy. He was able to accurately find the circumference of the earth. Archimedes built a machine that used the angles of the sun to correctly find the length of a year. Archimedes died in 212BC when Syracuse was captured by Roman forces. Archimedes was drawing a mathematical diagram when a Roman soldier ordered him to meet General Marcus, the leader of the Roman army. Archimedes’ last words were “Do not disturb my diagrams”. The soldier was angered by this and he killed Archimedes. here is the fabricated hadeeth; "diversity among my followers is a mercy from Allaah" another wording for this fabricated hadeeth goes like this; "difference of opinion among my followers is a mercy from Allaah" and also as; "the disagreement among my ummah is a mercy" this fabricated hadeeth was related by Ibn Hazm in Al-Ihkaam Fi Usool Al-Ahkaam, after indicating that it is not a hadeeth; "this is one of the most incorrect sayings possible,since if ikhtilaaf (disagreement,differing) were a mercy,then agreement would be a punishment,something which no muslim would say,because there can be only agreement or disagreement,and there can only be mercy or punishment" (Al-Ihkaam Fi Usool Al-Ahkaam (5/64) also Manaawi quoted Subki as saying; "it (i.e the fabricated hadeeth) is not known to the muhadditheen and i cannot find any isnaad for it ,whether saheeh,da'eef of mawdhu" this was endorsed by shaykh Zakareeyah Al-Ansaari in his notes on Tafseer Al-Baidaawi (92/2) the more we are diverse in our opinions the harder it is for us to unite. the more disunited we are the weaker we become. the weaker we become the easier it is for our enemies to defeat us. so there is absolutely no merit in muslims having an adundance of differences amongst themselves,especially in regards to their deen. concerning differences and disagreements, hasrat ibn umar (ra) said; "i went to Allaah's messenger (swallallaahu 'alaihi wassallam) in the morning and he heard th voices of two persons who had an argument with each other about a verse. Allaah Apostle (swallallaahu alaihi wassallam) came to us and sighs of anger could be seen on his face. He (swallallaahu alaihi wassallam) said;'verily the people before you were destroyed because of their dissgreements about their book'"(sahih bukhari,vol 4) however differences of opinions in regards to Fiqh issues can be tolerated on a limited scale for example there are two ways of calling the Iqaamah. likewise there are three different ways of praying salatul Janaazah. but differences of opinion in regards to Aqeedah issues are intolerable and it is for this reason that the four great imaams even though they differed among themselves on certain fiqh issues, yet they all shared the same Aqeedah. and remember Ali (ra) who said to the people of Iraq; "judge as you used to judge, for i hate disagreements and i do my best until people unite as one group, or i die as my companions have died" (saheeh bukhari, vol:5) and remember Allaah said regarding unity; "and hold fast all of you together, to the Rope of Allaah, and not be divided among yourselves.." (Qur'aan 3:103) and also; "and be not of those who divided and differed among themselves after the clear proofs had come to them. it is they for whom there is an awful torment" (Qur'aan 3:105) more

Resolved Question: anyone know some sayings i could use...?

its for my room i am going to paint one wall red and put vinyl letters on it. like sayings example: "Born to be famous" that is one i know i want can anyne think of sometihng along the lines of that? of just about life? maybe a couple funny ones don't worry about how many letter there are we have a thing where we can make the letters ourselfs so its not a problem thanks.oh and i'm 14 if that matters more

Resolved Question: i need help with redecorating my room..?

i have a black,white,silver and red comforter. with basically a Square with a circle in the middle on it. i have a silver chair in the corner im going to put shelf's and stuff up but i need to paint first all my walls are going to be white except on which is going to be red it is the wall my bed is on. and i think i want just abunch of vinyl saying on the rd wall i think it would look cool like all the saying medium size but one large vinly saying will say Born to be famous in the center. o and i might get a flat screen to go hang on my wall then 2 vertical book shelf's by my bed or something. list below is what i need ideas for.. vinyl letter sayings: room colors: any pictures: and anyhing else that would be helpful thanks.o and im 14 more
