Open Question: IS THIS CORRECTLY WRITTEN.. TEN POINTS?

A Six Day War Experience It is a country of a pure religion a country that is very sensitive to cordiality, a country with a very harsh history. My friend Yitzhak witnessed history on June 5th 1967. He was eleven years old when the war started. It was a heck of an experience to live only eight miles away from the battlefield. The four Countries that fought the Six Day War were Egypt, Jordan, Syria and the state of Israel. Each Country had its own reason to fight the Six Day War, some of which for supremacy and some for their own defense. The Six day War took place in year of 1967. Israel was very vulnerable at the time . That is why Israel began a preemptive attack, and took over many territories from Syria, Egypt, and Jordan. Some of these territories include, The Sinai peninsula, Gaza Strip, West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights. Yitzchak lived in a town named Kereiat Shmoneh. He was eleven years old at the time, and the only place to hide was his own basement. At night he was able to hear every gun shot, and every plane that would pass by. Yitzhak remembers climbing up a hill and watching an amazing, yet frightening dog fight. Two Syrian planes and a young Israeli jet fighter. Yitzhak ended up seeing a wonderful victory, as both Syrian planes collided into each other which ended the dog fight. Eli and Benny were Yitzhak’s older brothers, Yitzhak was the youngest in the family. For the remaining five days after the war has already started , he drank tea and listened to the radio. Yitzhak’s mother was very concerned for her children’s life. His Best friends were Eli and Benny his own siblings. There was a siren warning that everyone within the next 10 miles should stay in the safety of their own home. Eventually everyone had to find time to have access to necessities like food, water, clothes, and medicine. The war for Yitzhak was very scary. Yitzhak was preying to G-d that our enemies would put mercy on Israel. On the third day of The Six Day War, Yitzhak’s neighbor got involved and sadly passed away. Yitzhak was very sad but also very happy that Israel won the war in six days. The Arab countries denied trying to attack Israel. They took the act of a preemptive attack as an assault and a threatening act. Right After the preemptive attack Egypt and Jordan then had a good reason as was planned to attack the state of Israel. The Six Day War led to a blockade of essential goods from Asia such as, oil, China made material. Israel lost all of connection in terms of phones connectivity. Nasser Egypt’s Prime Minister, had said a famous yet frightening quote, “ The Jews threaten to make war. I reply: Welcome We are Ready for War.” Nasser truly despised Israel and challenge it many times, and when Israel would refuse he called us cowards. During this time period of The Six Day War Yitzhak was scared for the sake of his own country. He obviously wanted his family to be safe and for everyone to be alright. He knew people who were involved in this war, he witnessed a dogfight, and lived to see the wonderful joy of making it out alive. Israel had to push it to the limit and it showed the world that even though Israel was a new developed country we have military power. The three enemy countries were trying to wipe all the people in Israel off the face of the earth to have the country for themselves. more

Open Question: Differences between Des/Les and Du/De?

I'm writing a French essay and I'm having a lot of trouble on when to use "Des" and "Les". For example, my sentence is that "Le chateau a beaucoup d'influence par les/des femmes historique". Do I use Les or Des? Another example: "Dans beaucoup d'histoire, les/des hommes ont beaucoup d'attention quand les/des femmes n'ont pas beaucoup". Which do I use, des or les? And as for "De" and "Du", which do I use? for instance: "Le 'piece de la resistance' du/de le chateau est....". Do I use du/de? I think you get it. Just tell me when to use what and why/how. Thanks. Also, the paper is on Chenonceaux, which is a commune in France with a famous castle. When starting a sentence with "Chenonceaux", would I say "Le Chenonceaux"? 'Les' is incorrect because 'Chenonceaux' is an actual name of an area, not a plural noun. more

Open Question: Help with characters names in my story?

There are six girls in my story (haven't thought about the boys' names). I've developed a personality for each character, and they are all between 12 and 16 years old, but the names aren't perfect. Help, please! The first's name is the trouble spot for me, and she's the main character! _______ ________: (main character) the youngest of all six. Short, blonde with these pretty grayish-silvery eyes. Eager and always excited, has a warm personality, wants to be the heroine of her own story, wants to be famous. Flaws include being a perfectionist... Jazz Marshall: dark-skinned, music-obsessed, always seen with ipod headphones in and constantly nodding her head to a beat only she can hear. Doesn't care what people think of her, very outgoing and outspoken. Can hurt feelings sometimes, not afraid to tell the truth. Meaghan Ashe: sullen, doesn't talk. Is afraid to open up because of how her fragile personality has been hurt in the past. Has developed a tough shell. We hear why she's like this at the end of the story. Tessa Alexis: Blonde, bossy, and very beautiful, and she knows it too. Confident and struts around like she owns the world. Kelsey Seiler: the nice, normal brunette, but holds a grudge for-EVER. Star Rousseau: the motherly figure of all six girls, treats everyone equally and never has an unkind word to say. Seems like the perfect girl, but struggles in her family life to try and keep her family together. The names just aren't perfect for me! Thanks so much! i appreciate it! =D more

Open Question: Name of this famous instrumental song?

Okay, I've heard this song a couple of times on the radio. It's instrumental, and it basically sounds like two acoustic guitars being played very fast. It has a bit of an Eastern sound to it i guess, if that makes sense. I don't even think that there are a bass guitar in it, or drums for that matter, though i could be wrong. That's literally all i know. Since there's no other way to describe the song, this is pretty much a total shot in the dark! Thank you! more

Open Question: Baby Name Of The Day #14?

Name: Christopher Gender: Boy Usage: English Pronounced: KRIS-tə-fər From the Late Greek name Χριστοφορος (Christophoros) meaning "bearing Christ", derived from Χριστος (Christos) combined with φερω (phero) "to bear, to carry". It was used by early Christians as a metaphorical name, expressing that they carried Christ in their hearts. In the Middle Ages, literal interpretations of the name's etymology led to legends about a Saint Christopher who carried the young Jesus across a river. He has come to be regarded as the patron saint of travellers. As an English given name, Christopher has been in general use since the 15th century. In Denmark it was borne by three kings (their names are usually spelled Christoffer), including the 15th-century Christopher of Bavaria who also ruled Norway and Sweden. Other famous bearers include Italian explorer Christopher Columbus (1451-1506), English playwright Christopher Marlowe (1564-1593), and the fictional character Christopher Robin from A. A. Milne's 'Winnie-the-Pooh' books. 1) What do you think of the name Christopher? 2) Do you like or dislike it? 3) Would you use it for your son? If so what ONE middle name would you pair with it? 4) Would you use a nickname? If so, what would you nickname him? 5) Rate this name out of 10. 0 being hate. 10 being love 6) Is there any alternative spellings you prefer? Thank you.
