moreResolved Question: why do we love mars bars so much when its the cost as gone up and as been size down?
In 2002, the UK Mars bar was reformulated and repackaged.[4] The nougat was made lighter, the chocolate on top became noticeably thinner, and the overall weight of the bar was reduced slightly. This was met with outrage from Mars purists, as in a sales pitch to local media in Slough, the change in ingredients was to follow the trend of its sister the Milky Way bar, the Double Decker and 5 Star bars. Product designers at The Mars Candy Company in the US, put this down to nostalgia over the past hugely popular Starbar which also contained the same reinvented 'light whipped nougatine.' The packaging was also redesigned with a less-bold and a more cursive logo.
The famous slogan "A Mars a day helps you work, rest and play" was written by William Dagnall as a competition tie breaker in 1966 but often erroneously attributed to Murray Walker[5] This was replaced with "Pleasure you can't measure", a re-branding intended to appeal to a more feminine, youthful market.[6]
Various sizes are made: miniature bars called "Fun Size" (19.7g) and "Snack Time" (36.5g) (both sold in multiple packs); a larger multi-pack size of 54g; the regular sized single 58g bar and a "king-size" (also called Adam-sized) 84g bar which has since been replaced by "Mars Duo" (91g) - a pack that contains 2 smaller bars instead of 1 large one. The regular 58 gram single bar contains 259 calories.
In the second half of 2008, Mars UK reduced the size of regular bars from 62.5g to the current 58g. Although the reduction in size was not publicised at the time, Mars claimed the change was designed to help tackle the obesity crisis in the UK. The company later confirmed that the real reason for the change was triggered by rising costs.[7] [8] In the UK, most Mars bars are still made at the Slough Trading Estate.

moreResolved Question: Can a country rebrand itself as good when...?
... for decades it has been corrupt from the highest levels of government down to the lowest classes of its denizens, blaming others for its own faults, and denies the truth of its own shortcomings?
Not only this, but the same country has been the one single driving force of Advance Fee Fraud for decades, which used to be perpetrated by postal mail and fax, but now has the entire internet in its grasp.
The same country, where corruption, greed and brutality are rife now wants to paint a glossy picture about itself in an attempt to improve the global view of the country.
Is this not like painting a rusty old boat with fresh colours instead of removing the rot first?
... and the slogan of this re-brand? "Good People, Great Country" -- A joke?
What do the people of Y!A think? Possible or Not?For those that want to know which country I'm talking about... simply use your "intelligence" to figure it out. It doesn't actually matter what the country is anyway.
moreResolved Question: Slogan Ideas for a Mobile Phone Network?
I am making a 30-second TV advert for my Media Production class. I've settled on an idea, and a brand name now all i need is a catchy relevant slogan. Whilst i don't get marked directly on the brand slogan etc (this isn't a graphics course), I need to show how the advert is made specifically for the target audience, which i feel a slogan can most defiantly represent. Here's the idea:
A new mobile phone network aimed specifically at students. The network is called 'Beans' . The idea comes from my sister, who currently attends university of which she used to often hear the saying "you'll be living off beans now" meaning that students don't often have a lot of money and/or are used to not cooking for themselves. As one of the networks USPs will be that is cheap, i thought this name was very fitting. Each bean on the logo represents a different 'magic' package or service etc that the network offers - the writing will be bubbly to represent a friendly network.
I seem to have written far too much already but if you want to know the actualy advert idea i'll be happy to send that to you aswell.
Thanks =)

A Scot, James Watt, developed the first efficient steam engine and in so doing started the Industrial Revolution.
A Scot, John Logie Baird, invented the Television.
A Scot, John Napier, invented logarithms and the decimal notation.

A Scot, Thomas Blake Glover, was one of the founding fathers of modern Japan.
A Scot, Henry Faulds pioneered the use of fingerprints as means of undisputed identity of people.

The Scots invented Golf.
“History credits the Rev. Elijah Craig, a Baptist minister, with being the first in 1789 to make bourbon.” He was a Scotsman. Kentucky is the place for bourbon because of the limestone which makes the water almost iron-free. “The first bourbon recognized by brand outside of Kentucky probably was produced by Dr. James Crow...a Scotsman who settled near the Rev. Craig’s place.” He was known by the locals as Jim Crow.

moreResolved Question: Why allow headteachers to ban someone from a class for dying their hair blonde? ?
Read this article first
http://www.metro.co.uk/news/article.html?%91Two-tone%92_hair_pupil_is_banned&in_article_id=412061&in_page_id=34
Why is this girls father and her friends allowing a head teacher to take a student out of her classes disrupting her education simply as she died her hair blonde... not even punky multi colour and even if she did so what? how is it effecting her maths or history or disrupting anything and sure ain’t bullying.
Why are they not forcing though threats or pain or legal action the students right to learn if she wants to regardless of how she looks as long as she wants to learn, does not bully or unjustly disrupt the class.?
Why not pin the head teacher down and forcibly tattoo slogans like justice for goths, punks, hippies, emos, blondes etc... rights for all? And screw hair extensions of multi colour into his head then buy his own rules Mr Taylor can’t be allowed simply as not looking right regardless of experience and qualification.
How about branding or tattooing
‘Judge only brains & personality not appearance’
Over the heads face.?
Rules are not rules... you would not allow discrimination over skin colour so why on appearance unless it’s liked to gangs, neo nazi groups, abusive religions etc.?
The school says its about application of rules and standards but how about the standard that you should judge someone by who they are not how they look, by their ability to study, do a job, if they prey or help others and award those who would attack the head teacher in defence of their friend for sticking up for other, then start attacking employers under the delusion that a suit and short hair cut makes you professional. It does not we can dress up a gorilla in a suit.
Just like others stood up for women’s, gays, black peoples rights and to stop jews being gassed.
It makes a whole lot more sense then killing each other over which postcode you come from which kids do now and wont get expelled for but change your hair colour a the head teachers can wreck your future. What message does that send out?
It could also be a good lesson in politics and human jights, morality and justice.
If someone is wronged everything should stand up and force justice to be done outnumbering those in the wrong 30-1quote
You make some good points in your question , but the simple point being is that she broke the rules ,period , its open and shut after that , like say a speeding fine you could argue that the road was empty ,
Surely the lesson should be that rules should only exist if fully justiced and the spirit not the letter of the law should be adhered to.
Examples of past rules that needed breaking.
SLAVOURY USED TO BE LEGAL & you could rape your female 'property' ESCAPED SLAVES COULD BE crippled... WAS THAT RIGHT? NO
If islamic countires they allow stoning to death & female genital mutilation in fact enforce it would you stand by and let someone be punished for trying to protect their daughter from having her clitorus sliced off?/ stoned for dating or executed for going to school if a girl in afganistan
Rules are NOT rules & the same paper had an artical about a teenage boy who was tortured & thrown under a train for sending a love letter to a girl of a differents caste.

In a week when Ross and Brand get banned, how come a major corporation like Hewlett Packard get away with using the Gary Glitter anthem "do you wanna touch me" to promote their range of touch screen PC's and laptops without hardly any outcry. They paid Glitter 100k for the promotion in the United States but the media have missed one crucial aspect of this. While the advert has been pulled, the packaging in the UK has the slogan "Do you wanna Touch"? I assume he would have to be paid for this too, as it is lifted from the song. A total disgrace when one considers his sordid association with laptops!
