I am going to Girls State on Sunday and will be running for the mock office of Attorney General. I really need a catchy slogan or tag line for my posters. It is just the experience of campaigning that the conference is about.
moreResolved Question: Israelis, will you spare me a couple of minutes?
The last instruction received by all the Arab propagandists - both on pay-roll and volunteers- about the line along which to fight Israel is to delegitimize it and start the campaign for its expulsion from the United Nations. It was offically confirmed by Mahmud Abbas.
In order to do this, the main slogan currently against Israel should be connecting it to the Apartheid.
Just look at the number of the posts linking Israel and Apartheid: they have grown 10 folds in the last 3 days.
I think the best way to counter this would be not to answer the provocative questions by arabs but instead, ask OUR questions about Arabs and Apartheid.
And we HAVE what to ask, right?

moreResolved Question: How does my ASB prez speech sound? 10 pts 4 best answer :)?
ok . . . well this is gonna be really weird if anyone from my school sees this but i'm bored so i figured might as well see what u people think. in case it isn't clear i'm running for middle school asb president. o and i didn't include names for privacy reasons:
Hello everyone, my name is ******. These few days I went out and wanted to know what you wanted to see change. And I got responses. And all your input made me even more want to be your driving force of change. (I mean I’ve really wanted to be your change agent since this school year started, I started writing this speech in March) a little obsessive maybe but I’m definitely dedicated.
“Change we can believe in,” that was Barrack Obama’s campaign slogan and that’s just what I, ***** want to bring to our student council, Change, (pause) change we can believe in, change for the better, change for our future. That is why I’m running for your 2010-2011 school year Student council president.
The change I can bring will enrich the school, and actually let you have fun at school. But you can only have that with a good leader. A leader who can make decisions, be loyal, caring and will work hard for you. That’s the leader I am and am striving to exceed, and the leader that you need. I want to have fun things to do at school. Do you have any ideas? Well I also propose fun things to do such as lunch rallies to pump up the school spirit, fun days which could be things such as such as a twin day or having a crazy hair day, and things such as maybe an end of the year gram and community service events that help others far away but still are fun such as a TOMS Shoes Style your Sole Party. I mean who doesn’t like to party?!
I want to open leader, the kind you can talk to and know what you say counts. I want to be your liaison to teachers and staff. I’ll take your suggestions and listen to what you have to say with things such as a comment box outside of student council where I will listen and read what you have to say on something like a dance or a great idea you have for a fun thing to do! I’ll also be open to your ideas for big events such as the dance where I will be the open ear ideas on a dance theme or the type of candy you want at the dance.
I want to make student council available for all the students to be a part of not just the kids in ASB. I mean ASB should be what ASB stands for, an associated student body. That is a student body where all kids are counted for. This is where you matter where you need a qualified leader like me who is a member of the California association of student leaders to bring all the students together. I think we should have things such as an ASB membership card that says you’re a member of ASB but you don’t have to do anything all you have to do is soak up savings with maybe little added bonuses such as a cheaper dance tickets. Another thing I would like to do is have a bi-monthly student council update so you know about the fun things we are planning and get a little insight on what student council is all about, you the students.
“Change we can believe in,” and remember (last name) FOR PREZ!!! Sorry texting isn't an option, so grab your pencil and mark #3 on your ballot
thanks for answering:)
ps. no one answered on my previous post
pss you can just tell me Yeah or Neah

moreResolved Question: Are you for this healthcare bill?
Wouldn't you think all these companies who have been waiting to see how this turns out would start hiring people tomorrow if Obama announced that he was throwing out his healthcare agenda ?
The bill proposes to increase taxes to already struggling companies. Such a bill wouldn't help the economy, IT WOULD MAKE IT WORSE !!! Some of the tax hikes don't even support healthcare reform but are to fund kickbacks to entice your constituents to vote for it. Are you still believing Obama's sales pitch ?
I can offer you many resources that say America has the best healthcare system in the world. Although it's also the most expensive. But, why is the only way to reform it is to force companies and taxpayers to split the bill ? When the solution is to make us pay for it anyways, how is it decreasing the burden on the american citizen ? Obama claims that the bill will provide healthcare for thousands who would are otherwise not insured ? Thousands ? WOW that's alot...not really but whatever. Maybe it's time we all stop believing in campaign slogans and other political tactics and ask what this bill is really about.

I think boht parties are the biggest jokes in political history.. They are all about fighting each other and going against what the other proposes. Back in the 19th century, Republicans would be considered Democrats for their views nowadays and vice versa! It really seems both parties are more focused on keeping power than making sure Americans get the best of anything.
I'm an Independent. Always will be. And I hope people realize soon the games in Washington Obama is trying to "fix" are really the Republican and Democratic parties. I hope people realize our country's politics is an endless tug-o-war; Dems are viewed as the Saviors, Republicans as the bad guys. A couple years from now, it will be the exact opposite and so on and so on..
I want real change...not a campaign slogan.
moreResolved Question: A new campaign I want to start for teen mothers to be..,..,?
OK, so the whole 'your to young for a baby," and "you are not mature enough to raise a baby" seems to have not worked I have come up with a new plan of actions or a new campaign slogan.
"if you can not pay for child ALL BY YOURSELF.. then you should be having any"!!!
this also goes for poor mothers or homeless mother and such..
Now don't get me wrong,, sometimes you might need help, I myself am on food stamps.. (IM 40 if that matters). or with medical or even daycare.. this are small things that most of us that work 40+ hours week sometimes need help with..
this is not what I am talking about..
I want to get it through teen that want to have a baby.. "if mommy and daddy have to pay for diapers and rent and clothes" Then you DON"T NEED A BABY!!
now if you are 15/16 or what ever and you live on your own and have a job and support yourself to the best you can.. then fine,, have as many baby's as you want..
This campaign of mine is not to tell teens or anyone to not have sex, birth control is a very good thing that also needs to be done.
I am wanting to get on the young people that say "but I know what it is to raise a baby" Or "i know I can raise a baby" or " Im mature enough to have a baby"
Again,, If you are not supporting yourself, you CAN NOT support a baby, which means you have to wait..
Who's with me??!!This campgaign is for the young people that are 'planning' on children, NOT the ones that have them by accident..

Okay...so I am going to run for VP in my student council. I'm running against this girl who is slightly more popular than me, so I need a way to get major votes. I already have a few slogans...choose between the one that say -OR-. (btw my name is Sydney, but often called Sid or Sidster.)
WARNING: These slogans may be extremely corny to the viewer.
Don't be a squid, vote for SID! (For VP.)
-OR-
Don't be a squidster. Vote for the Sidster. (For VP)
--------------------------------------…
The next slogan i'll use on a poster will include a pic of my EXTREMELY cute baby brother, which everyone at my school loves to death. (I brought him to school multiple times)
(pic of cutest photo of him i can find) Look at me. Could you really disappoint this face? Vote for my sissy, Sydney, and make me smile. (for VP)
-OR-
(adorable collage of photos of him) Vote for my sissy, Sydney, as VP.
That's all I have. So vote which ones you like best and come up with some more if possible.
BTW, no slogans with any hint of a sexual innuendo. I'd be kicked out of the race in a second.
Or cussing. Or a cussing innuendo.
Thanks!
OHHH! And if you have any good ways to campaign, like passing out baby snickers w/ a little piece of paper saying, "This is no SNICKERing matter, vote for me, Sid as VP." err something...idkayy.Yep...I'm American.

(my 3 best friends are running for different student council positions too, so if you could come up with a group slogan that would be good too) (their names are Lindsey Lauren and Mckenna)
moreResolved Question: Help with student council campaign?
So for the back story. Every October, a bunch of schools in our district get together for District StuCo. And some schools run for District office (schools, not individuals). President gets to host the next District StuCo, VP takes over if the president school were to burn down or something (so basically they do nothing) and so on and so forth. We ran for president last year, but we got like 2 votes. Usually it goes to the school with some completely awesome campaign and/or whoever gives out the most and best free stuff (pens, rubber duckies, etc.)
This year we're running for VP, and I was nominated against my will to be Campaign manager. I know that we have absolutely no money to buy anything to throw out. So our next best option is to stick a guy in a Hannah Montana costume or a banana suit and put up posters somehow tying the banana/Hannah Montana into our campaign. If our school excels at anything, it's doing stuff so stupidly, it's just incredibly funny and awesome. Like sticking guys in a Hannah Montana costume. Disturbing, but funny.
So anyway. I have no ideas whatsoever. Well, except one. I googled StuCo campaign slogans and I found this:
"Victoria's Real Secret: She Votes for SHS."
Which has amazing potential for extreme hilarity. But I don't know if that could be school appropriate.
Some other tidbits of information: Our yearly StuCo theme is Transformers. We're getting shirts with a slogan and whatnot. If you wanna do something with that, go for it, although I'd really like different ideas.
And in the past, other schools have done themes like Pirates or camping or Hawaii or Mexican. And stuff like that. One school did High School Musical my Freshman year because they were Wildcats. And they all learned the dance to All In This Together and did that for their little talent portion.
Which I forgot to mention. Each school running for office has to do a skit to promote themselves. And they usually tie into the theme somehow.

"Now, there's one thing you might have noticed I don't complain about: politicians. Everybody complains about politicians. Everybody says they suck. Well, where do people think these politicians come from? They don't fall out of the sky. They don't pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do folks. This is what we have to offer. It's what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you're going to get selfish, ignorant leaders. Term limits ain't going to do any good; you're just going to end up with a brand new bunch of selfish, ignorant Americans. So, maybe, maybe, maybe, it's not the politicians who suck. Maybe something else sucks around here... like, the public. Yeah, the public sucks. There's a nice campaign slogan for somebody: 'The Public Sucks. Fuck Hope.'"
moreResolved Question: Is Obama just another angry black man?
The campaign theme was "hope". But apparently it was just a slogan. Anyone who hoped racial politics was dead must be disappointed that Obama is sounding more like Al Sharptongue than MLK these days.
Calling the white cop in Cambridge stupid after admitting he didn't have all the facts was ... well ... stupid. And irresponsible. And it was extremely poor judgment for a president to weigh in on a local matter without knowing the facts.
Obama seems to assume if there is a conflict between a black citizen and a white cop, then the white man must be at fault. Some might call that view...well... racist.
When he appointed the blatant racist Sotomayor to the Supreme Court I wondered aloud how he could be so... well... stupid as to not see her racism for what it was. Well, now I know. He is cut from the same cloth. One of those who apparently believes only whites can be racists.
During the campaign Obama was the best actor to run for the White House since Ronald Reagan. Now that he has won though, he is forgetting his lines. Better get that teleprompter fixed.
Meet the new boss.
Same as the old boss.

moreResolved Question: Project for School! Please help!?
Well, I have this project for school which is about Greek Mythology. We had to pick a god or goddess so I picked Athena. then we had to make a campaign for the god. In the campaign we had to include a slogan. This was my slogan:
Vote Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom and Together We Will Rule A Mighty Kingdom.
I was wondering if you all liked that. Please tell me if you like the slogan and feel free to share any other ideas for slogans. Keep in mind that my goddess is Athena. Sorry this is in the wrong category. Please answer!

moreResolved Question: Funny campaign slogans?
My friend and I are running for President and Vice President of the school. Funny thing is, no one else is running. But nonetheless, we can't technically win without making posters and a unique campaign slogan. Any ideas?
FYI-
We're both girls. And things involving pop culture tend to work best... Last year the two boys that are VP and President now made a series of posters with famous male duos on it... Simon and Garfunkel, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Starsky and Hutch, etc. (with their names on the final one). We'd like something creative like that!
