I saw what I thought was a good deal on Craigslist. A lot of items typically resold on ebay for $500. This type of lot is not uncommon on Craigslist. As an experienced ebay seller, I could have made about $1500 on this lot. I got ahold of the Craigslist poster, and he promised the lot to me for $500. I told him I could come over immediately, and he said that he was unavailable, but that he could meet 5 days later. I was in a situation where that day/time did not work out for me, but I changed my schedule so that I could drive the one hour trip to meet him. We conversed several times over the next 5 days, verifying that he was going to meet me and sell me the lot. When the day came, literally as I was in the car leaving to get to him, he called and told me the price has changed to $1250 and if I wanted the advertised and agreed to lot for $500 lot, I'd have to pony up double the money. Is this legal? We had a verbal contract. Can I sue him for bait and switch? It costs $31 to bring him to small claims court. What he did is unethical, and even if I don't win, I think it would be worth the hassle to make this guy realize that what he did is wrong. If I do take him to court, what do I ask for? (Again, I'm not thinking I would actually win, but think he needs to be scared straight in his dealings.) And which county would I take him to court in; mine or his? I'm assuming his.We absolutely had a contract - a verbal contract made after replying to an advertised price.I have a copy of his ad and his email correspondence with me. He has since changed his Craigslist ad, but I have a copy of the original.Again, I'm seriously not looking to win this one. Just looking to take legal action that will have him rethink his actions. Does anyone else think it's terrible that womens plastic surgery is advertised on bus posters, magazines, shop posters... Does anyone else think this is very sad? I was driving home the other day, and I was behind a bus, the poster on it said "when a push up bra's not enough, take the next step" and there was a picture of a perfectly normal looking pretty woman with small breasts. It just shocks me that we now advertise this kind of thing so openly, why is it that men aren't under pressure for pectoral implants or penis enlargments? Hhh is a popular guy but i don't like him. I'm not saying he sucks but i don't see why people like him. When he was in evolution he used the three other guys to try and keep the world title. Basicaly I work in a UK department store in milton keynes. Recently a poster appeared on the store notice board advertising 4 team leader vacancies. I have worked in the company for 3 years and get along very well with all of the managers aswell as alot of the staff. Just after christmas we got a new store manager who seems to absoloutely hate me. The person he replaced I also got along with very well before he left. Now when I say he hates me his whole method of management is based upon fear. I am quite a confident person and will make the effort to talk to all of my managers even if I dont work with them however this man simply fills me with fear since he started he has not said a single word to me and whenever he sees me he stares. He knows that I have a good relationship with all the managers and seems to dislike me for it. Seing as their where 4 vacancies for team leaders I was very happy and decided to apply, My line manager recomended me and with the backing of a few other managers I got given an interview. At the interview I was given some very tough questions and battled through to the best of my ability. Seeing as the interview wasnt with the new manager and with a manager I have worked closely with since starting at the company. However a week later I was told that I was unsucsesful becuase it was felt that I didnt provide enough evidence in my interview aswell as lacking experience on the sales floor. I have been in the company for 3 years. The other candidates who where sucessful at first where people I have worked with before who I respected and felt that they deserved the job. All of which had been their for a similar period of time to me. However recently they have promoted the next team leader from the round of applicants. I was shocked to find that the member of staff promoted has only been with the company for 4 months and has only worked on 1 section wheras I have worked on every department in the store. Not only this but Back in march when the last round of promotions happened it has been aparent that. Shy and passive people have been promoted which I see as some sort of control element by the new manager who overall has a say in everything going on in the shop. It almost seems that noone with any sort of backbone will be put forward for a team leader role in the company. We also have a sister company which operate in a very similar basis and from speaking with my firiends that work their it doesnt happpen in their company and in other stores in our company. What can I do / Complain and raise this issue to as it is bound to happen again and I really feel just to leave work and not come backits not that hes bullying me. And I cant really sit down with him becuse hes not a manager whos actively involved. plus if i say whats your problem he will say therre is none. He knows what hes doing hes manging on fear becuase employees fear him but it doesnt make anyone work harder everyone just avoids him. However this team leader situation has really got to me becuase so many of my peers and managers have told me I deserved it and I was capabel of doing it only for one man to ruin it all more
