Open Question: Burning question on aircraft saftey..?

Now my friend here is a qantas enginer..he is responsible for every use by date and wear and tear of every conciviable part of the plane... I put foward to him why does the aircraft industry,not just build a saftey capsule that can float and is self sufficent on pressured oxygen and can act like a bouncing ball as to not get lodged or break up on landing or atmospheric turbulance such as ,hurricanes and lighting and hail.. with a parachute device that can be deployed for a guided landing. I realize the main objective for airlines is to get as many bums on seats as cheap and safley ,as possible on any given day,and to derive asubsatntial profit for that practice 365 days a year.. BUT surley for those who say it would not be viable to build or sustain or be profitable as on going bussines concern..I SAY to them there material to build such saftey device is there , these days the exco skeleton of plane would be cheaper to produce as the main expense would be concentrated with in the capsule,,and other saftey feature would be passengers would fly seperatley from cargo and and passengers would only carry an over nite bag with them and obtain clothes via the sale of main ticket at the destination of any airport .and on return these close can be put foward on cargo planes.making it the priority for the capsules to be free of any clutter other than the human body and essential supplys ,such as fisrt aid and survival packs..My friend supprised me and he sai amzingly that was the first question i asked my self,as maintance engnieer,,,and he was answered. then many people would have no job... well I KNOW ONE THING jobs can be re- created...insurances can charge more on ur saftey rather than ur demise.we have the means of the super higway of comunication to advertise ..do bussines from a stroke of a finger and not depend others to get things done for us...no long is there a comuincation interfernce with the airwaves ..to endanger lives and the flying of the airplane in a saftey mode.. THE TRUTH is that the current shape and idea of flying is very very very old the whole concept has to be re desingned and re calabrated not as a sausge with jets or properlers.but as a self genrated disk or oval shaped derigiable...and another thing.... it seems the only education in piloting the skys is the art of the BENELI effect ..surley there must be other ways of piloting space and atmosheric presures..? so i would like to know what ur views on this is... are we going to ply suasgages for the next 50 years or procced to a new concept of air travel and its saftey for its passangers....? more

So here is the theoretical scenario, I have these two containers named "content" and "advertising". Obviously "content" holds the website's content, and "advertising" holds the advertising to the website. I'm aware of adblockers, they can be programmed to automatically hide the div named "advertising" to remove the adverts, so what if we could give it a random name? So that's my idea. Once the website is loaded into the browser and the advertising div created, is there any way I can use a client side scripting language to rename the div? ----------------------- When I say rename, I mean change the ID of the div. Javascript example something like "advertising.innerHTML" to "387694.innerHTML".Yes, I understand I could do this using PHP, just PHP requires me to contain the Style in the page - which I didn't really wish to do. Open Question: Con_Artist Advert scam UK Media Group?

Dear Sir, I am in dispute with UK Media Group as I have been mis sold advertising for an advert outside the ASDA store in Canterbury, Kent, UK I signed an agreement, it was the day before I was due to leave on my summer holidays, so my mind was on other things, as the salesman told me the agreement was for 12 months and cost £495+VAT - I paid in good faith. But then advert was published but it was not in the location stated, nor was this a 12 month agreement. The advert was supposed to be located within the covered over door of ASDA, the figures they (Smooth talking saleman) gave me for potential footfall were fabricated I checked them with ASDA in Leeds, the advert was not ready on the date they stated i.e.1st September 2010 in time for the new influx of students to Canterbury (the main reason I agreed to the idea). I would have been within my rights to cancel but it was beyond the cooling off period. I then received an email in June asking me to confirm the second half of the contract - this was the first I knew there was a second half. Now having read the poorly worded contract it states that it was for 24 months but makes no comment about renewal costs - I do not wish to renew and have taken legal advice - now they are asking for £800 + VAT (£940) I do not have that sort of money. Have anyone else received any other complaints about this [sharp practice] - I contacted the ASA but they recommended I contact Trading standards in Colchester. I am a very small one-man business who has been conned by smooth talking saleman who no longer works for the company. I have contacted the Legal Team of the FSB who have said they need to see the contract that I signed, i have been in contact with the Company today and they are emailing it over to me. What recourse do I have - If I refuse to pay they may take me to court to recover the sum they claim I owe, or worse still sell my debt on to a debt collection agency? more

Open Question: Is there a certain of level of creepy that can be called illegal (please help, I'm really scared)?

Alright, so I have a bit of a problem. I met a guy at the beach. He was nice, newly single, and seemingly polite. I really wasn't looking for a new relationship and I told him this but he said he was willing to be friends so I gave him my number, happily thinking that I had made a new friend. I went to bed that night and woke up the next morning with 19 missed calls and 18 voice-mails (all of which he called me "sweetie" and mentioned that he "loved me"). Sufficiently creeped out, I decided to kinda keep my space from him and not really return his calls and the one time I did answer one of his calls he immediately informed me that he "had a hotass temper" as if it were a threat. That was about a week and a half ago. He still calls me at least 5 times every day, though I don't pick-up, and leaves voice-mails saying that he loves me and just today I get a voice-mail message in which he says that in a week he plans to visit me. He didn't really say it in a threatening way, but just as if he were politely informing me but after about two weeks of these creepy phone calls, I'm really scared by even the idea of him showing up at my home. So now I'm concerned for my own safety, not to mention the safety of my family. I'm just wondering if it is actually possible for the guy to locate me with nothing more than my cellphone number (he doesn't even know my real first name since I introduced myself with my nickname)? I know that some sites advertise that they can, but is it actually possible? I just tried that PhoneDetective site (a reverse cellphone lookup site) and it is showing up what might be my old address (it says it wont give the address unless I pay money but it's showing up as my old town and county but that could just be because of my area code). So now I'm also scared for the people that now live there, but I'm still rather scared for me. Can the police actually get involved with this, because I don't think he's actually done anything illegal yet unless they've finally made being super creepy illegal? Also any suggestions on how to deal with this? Can the police actually get involved? Will changing my number solve this and keep him from being able to find me? Please, any advice would be really appreciated.Just wanted to add that he doesn't know anything about me other than my middle name and my cellphone number and also I don't even really know much about him either other than his first name and number. Open Question: I am clearing out my Mega Bloks Dragons (to sell). I need some help!?

Alright, so I have a plastic container that I can fit in comfortably with the lid closed- filled with Mega Bloks dragons. They don't all fit in that container, but most of it does (just so you know how much I am talking about). Now, I have all the pieces except for one of my dragons is missing a leg and a gem- everything else is in "gently played with" condition. My actual dragons are the worst (they've worn out since they are so old) but everything else is accounted for and in good condition. Now, I have a set from Krystal Wars, I have the Dragon Tower (fire and Ice thing), I have four or five eggs (metal series and the one after that- whatever it was called) and where is the bulk of the giant collection collecting dust? In the originals. The very very VERY first group of Mega Bloks Dragons (no special Krystal wars or metal or fire and ice or anything, just dragons) and not even the re-released originals (they are different unfortunately), the very first set. I have all of them, the only things not in mint condition are the actual dragons (they wore out, like I said- the design was flawed to begin with as the dragons were changed a lot in later sets). What might the problem be here? I don't have all the instructions anymore (and the Mega Bloks company can't give me new ones because, like I said, mine are the first "originals" and so they don't have those parts/instructions anymore since they don't make those at all anymore) and any pieces of the dragons that got messed up (I only broke one wing one time on one dragon and I fixed it, it was just a chip, everything else was just the legs going limp from being moved a few times since the original dragon design wasn't so great). So- this is a big lot and most of it can't be bought anymore since it's not made anymore. I don't have the instructions to the old stuff (well, most of the instructions I don't have, paper and plastic are much different to a kid in value- I wasn't thinking about keeping paper when I was little and I first got them >.<) so I can't build the old stuff (original dragons), but I know I have all the pieces so it's not missing anything. My questions: 1. Good way to advertise? If I just say 'big lot' it'll probably be looked over by a lot of people. 2. Any help with shipping? Creative ideas and what not? 3. Best way to sell it- would it be better if I sold the original dragons separate from the krystal wars (I don't have a lot of the other sets- just as a reminder) and the metal wars etc etc? 4. How should I sell it? Catalog each part (I've done bigger projects, it doesn't bug me counting lots of things) or just say all of sets #whatever whatever? 5. And what about a picture (pictures) for it. Lots of stuff, I don't know how to fit that all in one shot... 6. How much would it be worth if anyone has any guesses? A good starting price? What it isn't worth (as in, what would be too much to expect). ~~Any other helpful tips are appreciated, I've sold lots of stuff- but nothing this big and nothing with so many different price ranges that I don't understand what makes it valuable or not! I was thinking of having where Junior/Senior girls (& boys - there just aren't much in the club) kinda become a big sister/brother to kids in a certain grade. I was thinking possible 4&5 graders (about the ages of 9&10) and maybe midschoolers? Voting Question: Am I Ready To Be A Guitar Teacher...?

I have been playing guitar for about 7 to 7 and a half years now. I am completely self taught, but I know a lot more about guitar than people who have been playing longer than me. I know multiple techniques from basic alternative picking to sweeping, legatto, harmonics and different ways to achieve them, and much more. I know multiple scales as well (Blues being my personal favorite >.>). I also know a lot of music theory that I intend to teach as well so people have a deeper understanding of what they are learning. I ask because I was over at a friends house and he wanted to know how to play the King of the Hill theme song. I was able to just play through it without much trouble by ear (it's a pretty easy song XD) and I explained to him how to figure out the tonic in a song and the scale, and thats how you can get an idea of how to play a certain song. (It took about 15min to explain as I went into much deeper detail). He was then able to figure out how to play the song without my help and suggested that I go into teaching. I give my friends free lessons all the time, and I am wondering if perhaps I should take the next step and actually try to advertise to new people. Please be honest and let me know what you think. People say that I’d be good at Marketing because I have some fresh, geeky, creative ideas. But can anyone tell me what exactly “marketing” people do? Make something out of cool ideas to sell goods?????? There are a few majors that I am interested in FIT and I don't know what to choose. Advertising and Marketing Communications Direct and Interactive Marketing Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing International Trade and Marketing for the Fashion Industries Those are majors that I am into. I don't know which would suit me the best and I am not living in New york so I can't visit school to figure out what's going on, what they actually do, how it is like. I love fast paced environment and I am hyper organised who loves to work without sleep for over 2 days in a row depending on caffeine! (And I still work well. I am healthy and I have a patience, passion for work.) People say that I'd be good at communication related job because I have a good look and I have a personality that makes people to listen to me!.. I have no idea, that's what people say around me. Could you tell me in regards to admission of FIT(how hard to get in) and about those majors outcome (what they actually do and what would suit me the best?)? And which major would mostly get me the general fashion ideas? And which major benefits me for work at any place in fashion industry whatever I find interesting to me in the future? Thank you. more

Resolved Question: Double Major with French?

So I'm in high schooll and my parents are pressuring me to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. And I want to study french, one, because I want to fluently learn french, and two, I'm actually good at it so far. But when I'm done studying French in college I want to do something in France or another French speaking country instead of staying here in the US and teaching, etc. I'm not into jobs like advertising and business even though they're good careers for french speakers. One of the careers I was considering was being an architect, but it'd be hard majoring in french and architecture at the same time. So does anyone out there have any ideas on what my other major could be? or what I can do with a French major (besides teaching and business..etc.)?Oh and would being a Architecture Major and French Minor get me into studying abroad? more

Yesterday I was browsing software and found some freeware from Stardock. However foolishly instead of downloading it from their website I downloaded it of some shady download site. The symptoms are: >Massive slowdown in computer performance >My motherboard fan is extremely noisy >Adware appearing in clusters of two or three windows, appearing every 5-10 minutes, advertising PKR and Share Investment >Processes Zll.exe and Zlk.exe appeared, both eating huge amount of memory and CPU. These were closable in task manager >Advanced System Care Pro keeps detecting Registry Problems and Spyware/Adware Risks. After fixing them more are generated > Processes atieclxx.exe, csrss.exe and winlogon.exe have appeared in task manager. These are normal processes but appear to be infected as they are usually not there and a message appears whereby they are impossible to close. >Kaspersky has detected Trojan.Win32.Swisyn.jyb and HEUR:Trojan.Win32.Generic in Zim.exe and deleted it. As I wrote that it also found various Trojan-Downloader.Java.Agent.en problems and deleted them. My performance has slightly increased and the fan speed slighly reduced. >Prevx. 3.0 is unstartable. It appears to have been attacked. >Malware Bytes Anti Malware also appears to have been attacked. Previously it was much better at finding viruss than Kaspersky, however it is not finding anything wheras Kaspersky has identified 5 threats ad deleted all of them. Any ideas what it might be? more
