I work very hard indeed, and have a very high standard indeed. I like to go well behond what is good, I want to do an exceptional job at something good. I like knowing I am doing exceptionally well, to be shockingly good. It is in terms of moraly and achievements, which also related to this sensitivity to the way people feel. At first, Facebook was great. I could connect with friends, share pics, links, etc... but now I'm being advertised at from every direction. Bands I like, pages, spam and viruses, it's just wrong. Open Question: Are any of you experiencing real life reception problems with your iPhone 4?

It seems to me that the only people experiencing the "death grip" are the people who are trying to block the antenna. Do any of you actually speak on the phone with it tightly squeezed into your palm? I know that I don't. I can't get my iPhone 4 to lose signal even when I hold it as the "death grip" is described. Although I have seen the signal drop from 4 bars down to 3 on a couple occasions when I was trying to make it happen. As far as using the phone and all of the phones features I haven't experienced any real life issues. Even when I tried to make it lose signal it was not even close to being as bad as everyone is trying (& doing quite a good job at it) to make it look. This is just my opinion, but I think that ever since the original iPhone came out it's competition has been waiting for Apple to slip up. Now they turned a small issue into this enormous "antenna gate" fiasco. In terms of business & advertising Android has done a good job at drilling the iPhone 4. But I think that the reason this issue has stayed around so long is because Apples competition(Android, RIM, etc.) knows that the iPhone 4 is & will continue to be a superior device into the foreseeable future. No, I'm not an "iPhone fanboy", I'm just I guy who wants a device that fits my needs best, which in this case happens to be the iPhone 4. I actually started out with android devices such as androids 1st phone the G1 up to the Droid Incredible, but I gotta say that unless my iPhones so called "antenna problem" isn't as bad as that of other iPhone 4 users, than the competition better keep hyping up "antenna gate", because if they don't the iPhone is gonna continue just rolling right over the top of them. So, other than when your trying to make your iPhone 4 drop signal, do you experience any problems in real life use? more

Open Question: Does this sound like an error on the NMR bit of my HPI check?

I've put a deposit down on a 1999 (V) Ford KA. Looks reasonable for the age, minor rust, engine runs smoothly and looks in good condition (not perfect, obviously that would be stupid). Mileage is advertised as low with 37,000 miles on the clock. However, doing an HPI check has thrown up : Data currently held on the National Mileage Register (NMR) indicates that there may be a mileage discrepancy on this vehicle. Date recorded Recorded by Mileage reading Total 06-Jan-2000 Manufacturer 4,252 4,252 15-Jan-2003 DVLA 130,000 130,000 28-Jul-2010 NMR 39,000 39,000 (Date of first registration is September 1999) Has the DVLA made a mistake at some point, as this would be my gut feeling. I accept that Ford KAs don't need overclocking so that the mileage looks very low once you get over 100,000 miles. But to have done the first 130,000 in 2.5 years? In a 1.3L Ford KA? Considering it took 4 months to get to 4,000 miles in the first place? There are only newer MOTs, but they seem to suggest the mileage creeps up at 1 to 2000 miles a year, in keeping with a car in good condition with low mileage I know people will likely say avoid this car, just to be safe, but, honestly, does this sound more likely to be a mistake on the NMR/DVLA records? I've put aside creativity for a few years now. I was a photography major and had work published in my college magazine and also on display in an art show. I was then accepted into a bigger photo school, but got nervous and backed out. So I went a few years trying to find something else to settle into. Currently I'm taking Nursing prereqs and it couldn't be more wrong for me. I'm not good at science, I put so many hours into it and am lucky if I get a B on a test. So I have been thinking a lot about going back to the arts. I'm interested in advertising and would like to someday be part of the team that comes up with the ideas for the ads. Where do you start off is my question? Should I start in Graphic Design, work my way up to Art Director and then maybe to Creative Director, if lucky? What is the best approach to attain a creative position in an advertising team? Also, what programs should I use on my mac and is taking classes at the local community college a good start, or do a lot of designers build a portfolio on their own? Opening video and pyro went off. The main event was advertised as Randy Orton vs The Miz. Edge came out to open the show. After saying he doesn’t trust his Raw team. Edge challenged Wade Barrett to a match. R-Truth came out and told Edge he needs to stop thinking about himself and get with the team. Edge threatened Truth with a spear. The anonymous general manager chimed in. Cole stated the general manager wanted R-Truth to exit the ring for the next match, which was Edge vs. Barrett, Truth told Edge, “Good luck, you are on your own.” 1. Edge fought Wade Barrett to a no-contest when Nexus interfered. Barrett nearly took the spear, but he got out of the ring and called for his Nexus teammates. Edge escaped through the crowd and ran right by correspondent Edward. Edge stared down Nexus from the crowd. 2. Alicia Fox, Jillian Hall, and Tamnia defeated Natalya, Eve Torres, and Gail Kim. Fox pinned Natalya to win the match. Fox got on the mic and said she’s the best Divas Champion ever. Melina’s theme hit and she ran out and beat up Fox. Melina did the splits and then posed for the live crowd. Backstage, Cena found Edge and said they have to fight together in order to win at SummerSlam. Edge said Cena would have to win without him because he quit the team. Jericho came to Cena and said Cena is the one who really needs to quit. He challenged Cena to a match for later in the show. The loser of the match leaves the SummerSlam team. Cena said no at first, but Jericho convinced him. John Morrison and Great Khali were shown talking backstage. Morrison left and the Nexus arrived. They said they didn’t attack Khali last week because they respect him and want him to join them. It was announced that Khali would face Ted DiBiase Jr. later in the show. 3. Sheamus pinned Goldust. Sheamus said what a difference a year makes. He said he became champion in one year and didn’t need a briefcase, nor did he take as long as Orton did to win his first title. He said Orton couldn’t beat Triple H, whereas he ended Hunter’s career. 4. John Cena defeated Chris Jericho in a loser leaves Team Raw match. Cena won the match with the STF. The live crowd was really into this match. Afterward, Cena told Jericho he didn’t want him to leave the team. He said Jericho is still the best at what he does, and said they could taken on Nexus together. Jericho shook his head no and walked out on Cena, so it looks like he’s off the team. Backstage, Edge and Chris Jericho agreed that Cena needed them, but they don’t need him. The Raw general manager chimed in and announced that next week, Edge and Jericho will face Cena and Bret Hart. The Nexus members will serve as lumberjacks for the match. Justin Roberts interviewed Randy Orton, who responded to Sheamus’s promo by saying he gave Triple H a six-week vacation by kicking him in the skull. Orton invited Sheamus to ringside to watch his match against Miz. He said the good news for Sheamus is that he will beat Miz so bad that he won’t be able to cash in his MITB contract. He said the bad news is that it will be Sheamus’s turn for the beating in two weeks. 5. The Great Khali defeated Ted DiBiase. Wade Barrett and Skip Sheffield came to ringside and distracted DiBiase by grabbing his Million Dollar Title belt, which led to Khali getting the win via the Vice Grip. The Miz came out and said Randy made a mistake. He said he will be champion if he cashes in on Orton or Sheamus, because he’s The Miz and he’s awesome. 6. Randy Orton defeated The Miz. Sheamus watched the match from the stage. Randy pinned Miz after hitting the RKO. Sheamus rushed the ring, but Randy saw it coming and struck the Viper Pose, which stopped Sheamus dead in his tracks. This may end up being the point where the television show will go off the air. Cena came out while Sheamus, Miz, and Orton were still at ringside. Nexus came out and told Sheamus to leave because they have a truce. Mark Henry came out with the Raw crew to fight off Nexus. The Raw crew successfully chased off the majority of Nexus and then roughed up Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater. The Raw crew stood tall as Cena’s music played to end the show. more

I am a student learning English. I wrote something in English to practice it. Would you check to see if there are any awkward expressions? I've attended another English class other than my original English class. Explaining the difference between my class and another class I attended, my class was taught by a native speaker, whereas another class's teacher was a domestic person. I wanted to see what another class was like, and there was a free class once a month to advertise the class, so I registered it. However, during the class, I couldn't but help feel bad. For two hours, the male teacher didn't teach English. He just talked about how foolish students were, how inefficient the classes by native speakers were and how smart he was. I became speechless. He might want to emphasize that hearing ability was needed prior to attending to the conversation class with native speakers. However, I thought he had to phrase it differently. He said it as if the classes by foreigners were the waste of time and only his class was the best. (He progresses his class by letting students watch the English video repeatedly to enhance their listening skill.) Plus, he made some rude comments about old students. He said that they had studied English in a wrong way and that's why they were here. He sneered at them saying "If you are good at English, why don't you just go out and speak English with native speakers? You can't, right? Because you've studied in a wrong way until you are at that age." For two hours, such rude comments continued. I felt uncomfotable with his impolite manners, but I was patient of his speech to be polite. Finally two hours passed by, but he didn't stop bragging and ignoring. I had another class at that time, so I stood quietly and tried to go out. The teacher shouted, "Hey, why do you go out?" I answered, "I had another class." And then, he said to me, "Is it not because I sound boring?" I smiled in a polite way, "No, it is not.", and I never came back. more

I was just wondering what some good paying jobs are in NYC. Not the best like $250,000+ a year, just one that would support a single person with a decent apartment (something like maybe $60,000-$90,000) Would advertising/media production be good? What are your thoughts? Thanks! more

I have extreme sensitivity to people's feelings (compassion), so much that people tell me that I am too soft and do not use enough discipline and that I would let people indulge in my love. I have a sarcastic but not offense, dark, warped and wicked sense of humour; but in a way that people like. I have a big interest in science, particularly in medicine. I believe pride is what we should all have, that is pride in doing well is a way that is positive in behaviour morally. This pride would not be where we are concerned about what other people think of us, what we think of our selves. I have a strong sense of wanting to be consciensious and thorough, clear and conscise. I work very hard indeed, and have a very high standard indeed. I like to go well behond what is good, I want to do an exceptional job at something good. I like knowing I am doing exceptionally well, to be shockingly good. It is in terms of moraly and achievements, which also related to this sensitivity to the way people feel. It am creative and would only create the most stunningly wondering things or unthinkable beauty, anything else is not good enough. Spoiler Alert: This Week Tommy Dreamer will Officially Wrestle his first match since signing with TNA. it will be Tommy Dreamer vs Abyss in the Main Event. What are you thoughts for this match? How will he do in this match considering that he has a torn MCL. Undertaker is not expected to Return until Night of Champions PPV. For Proof I found this on Wrestlezone.com it said this: PWInsider.com is reporting that although The Undertaker is being advertised for WWE's SummerSlam PPV, he is not expected to return to the company in a wrestling capacity until September's Night of Champions PPV. Thoughts? WWE will Tape This Week and Next Week's Raw Tapings Tonight. So i guess will know what happens tonight on raw and next week. Open Question: University Personal Statement ... Is It good Enough? Only half done!!?

The unknown influence of the media is one thing that has always intrigued me, from its ability to engage a wide audience to the sheer entertainment factor of the media industry. The media possesses unimaginable power posing as a form of control, an expression of majority opinion and also a form of creating a consumerist culture. Since completing GCSE Media Studies my knowledge and interest have grown especially in advertising. Adverting as a career path enables me to mix my creativity and English while also incorporating my psychological interests. I have been volunteering in my community for the local neighbourhood policing panel and helping to produce the local newsletter allowing me to gain some experience in the media and show my self-motivating skills, while also helping others. While doing this I have produced leaflets, logos, tag lines, newsletters and also helped with the admin of the NPP. I have also been involved with Brickstitch LTD’s adverting process, helping with phrasing and colour schemes of their leaflets. Not to digress but I also run a voluntary dance class through the summer in which I have to advertise for participants, help to sell tickets and entertain the young, this shows my organizational skills, time management and my altruistic personality. I like to think that subjects I decided to take for my A-Levels help me to see behind the adverts, psychology, sociology, English, and law, all interlink showing more than what meets the eye. English Language & Literature give me the skills of persuasive language and helps me to understand the power of words. Outside of academic achievements I like to perform on stage this boosts my confidence and enhances my skills, I also like reading Allan & Barbra Pease “Why Women Cry & Men Lie” showing the differences in men and women and how to target either one, Susan Hill and Wilfred Owen are other authors I tend to read. I also enjoy caring for people which is one thing I do to earn extra money for example I babysit for young children and also help to care for my grandmother. I have a passion for music and tend to be lyrically inspired, I enjoy reading poetry and also writing my own. more

I found the job on craigs list a couple of weeks ago for 2-3 weekends a month to watch two kids ages 5 and 4. I looked up the woman's address on telus phonebook to see if the address, name and phone number were real, and also took a drive to the house with my dad to see if it was a nice enough area (although I still know that craigs list can advertise scams, I am still cautious of it) so now she would like me to come for an interview to her home tomorrow morning, I asked her beforehang if it would be in a public place or her house, and she said that she has her kids with her so it would have to be in her home but understood that a public place would have been better to make all the potential babysitters feel more comfortable. so anyway...my grandmother is giving me a ride ( I am 17 and can't drive due to medical issues) and nobody else can give me a ride and taking the bus would take at least an hour and a half. She now wants to come in with me to the interview because she is "concerned" apparently. i am 17 and am perfectly capable to be independent so would it look bad if she comes in with me? will it make it look like I can't even look after two kids if I an adult has to meet the mother or even come in to the interview? :S Should I tell my grandmother that I want to do this alone? or tell the mother of the children in advance that I might have someone come in with me? If she comes in with me how should I let the mother know? Voting Question: Should I take the job for the money?

I currently have a full-time job. For the most part I like all my coworkers and the office is super relaxed. But the pay is terrible. So terrible that I could probably make the same amount working at McDonald's. For the past 5 months I've been doing freelance work, for a VERY new advertising firm. I don't enjoy it at all, but the extra money is nice. I was asked if I'd be interested in working for the firm full-time. The pay is A LOT better, but I would get no benefits. I'd mostly likely be working from home, which I believe would get very lonely. Also, I'm worried about job security. If business goes down will they keep me around? Doubt it. It'd be nice to make more money and move out of the ghetto. But I'm not sure if having a boring, lonely, no security job is really worth the pay. Advice please!!! Open Question: please help me with my awful hair!!?

Ok, so about a moth ago I dyed my (fake) blond hair that I've had for pretty much my entire life, to a very dark brown. Initially it turned into an inky black, even though the box called the color "Medium ash brown) to make the color a little less drastic I added highlights, But they turned out a very light blond. This is all me using box color. I can't really afford to go to a salon as my favorite place recently burned down, and almost every place I've been since then, sucks. I'm trying to get my hair to a nice warm medium brown. However I'm hesitant to buy auburn hair dye, after having so many mishaps with box color not turning out as advertised. Can anyone recommend some good at home color systems or rinses for brunettes (who are also poor)? I'm sooo sick of looking like a white trash zebra. Thanks more

Open Question: Do you think it will be hard to find her a forever home?

So I rescued a little welsh mare about 3-4 weeks ago I will give you a little info on her: Name: Sunny Registered: Will be once I get the papers (Section B) Age: 4 on 2.10.2010 Breed: Welsh Height: 13.2hh She can be a little spooky around cars and trucks, but we're working on that. Good to C/S/F/R, haven't bathed her yet as it's winter. She isn't good with being wormed (we had to use pellet wormers). FANTASTIC to tack up and groom. Didn't flinch when I put the girth around her and you couldn't find a horse that is more accepting of the bit. She is very quiet for a horse her age. Stays fat on grass only (literally, I'm lunging her for about 45 minutes a day and she is actually a little overweight), she's very smart, knows voice commands. I'm currently breaking her in (have done lunging, mouthing, long reining, hopefully will have a saddle on her by wednesday) and she is coming along nicely. I won't be selling her until I can find a good home for her, and I'm not in a huge rush, I won't be selling her until she has been broken in for a little while (1-2 months after I will start advertising). Anyway, what I'm asking is this: Will I have trouble finding her a "forever home" because of her height and age? I know she is young but ideally I want her to stay with the family I choose for her so that she can have a good home, I don't want them selling her in a few years to some doucheface who thinks horses need to eat carrots and apples. I will be selling her to a good home though, so I don't think that's likely, she will also be worth a good amount when she's broken, similar horses in my area are going for $2,000-$4,000 so I think that makes it less likely that if they sell her she will go to a bad home. Wow, I got way off subject. Basically, I'm worried that due to her height she will be sold on constantly when children outgrow her. Also, do you think that it would be rude to stay in touch with the home she gets sold to? I would like to know how she is doing afterwoods. Incase I need an LQ (Because some people like to sit around and report my questions and answers), what disciplines do you do?I forgot to add this incase it's important - No health problems that I'm aware of, she is 100% sound, and has good conformation. I'm probably only training her to jump & trail ride.Oh I wanted to break her to cart, but I don't have a breaking jig, so I can't =(Tash - I wanted to write up a contract that gave me first refusal, I wasn't sure if that was ok or not though.I can't really lease, as I want to continue rescuing and rehoming horses & as we are moving in October, 3 is the maximum amount I can have (we're moving to a smaller property =@). Open Question: UK Landlord letting to LHA tenants: is this legal?

I have a vacant 3 bed property, looking to let to lha tenants. There are families who qualify for the 4 bed rate, but prefer to live in a 3 bed property so that they can claim the maximum left over from LHA payments, which is £65 per month. My question is: Would it be legal to target these tenants by advertising a 3 bed property to benefits tenants who qualify for the 4 bed rate, offering to increase their leftover lha payments by personally paying them an extra £65 per month by cash or postal order. This would be as well as the existing £65 per month. So they would get a total of £130 per month instead of just £65. Is this a legal way of attracting these kind of tenants to get maximum rental income. (I'm not a greedy landlord, just business minded - this is my second property and need all the help i can get to pay off loans and mortgages. I aim to give my current lha tenants as much help as is reasonable, they have been good tenants, so i make sure they get maximum leftover from lha payments which most landlords would not do) Any advise is greatly appreciated :)Erm, yeah, right......thanks for all the useful replies. more
