Capital One has had a long running series of commercials featuring Barbarians in various modern-day situations behaving in Barbaric fashion. The tag line is, "What's in Your Wallet?" I can understand the Geico tag line, "So easy a caveman can do it"....but Capital One doesn't spin that angle in their ads. So what's the connection between Barbarians and Capital One credit cards? Did this just start off as one creative concept a long time ago that made sense in the original commercial but then became popularized into an entire series of similar ads using the same familiar characters but not the original creative connection to the product? more

Resolved Question: Do I have bipolar depression disorder?

I'll start off saying I'm a person VERY interested in psychology and mind disorders. I read book, watch t.v specials, etc. But it wasn't until recent I realized I might HAVE a disorder myself. It all started on a profile I had on a website. I posted up there that I was "Bipolar". I knew (Or at least i thought I knew) what being bipolar was, and I figured it was pretty damn funny, bragging about a disease you don't have. Later, I deleted it, having realized how serious and offensive it was. I have a history of being friends of people with disorders (Both of my friends who have the same name, have two different diseases: ADHD and another disease where she gets really over emotional/can't control her feelings. Both are taking the appropriate medicines.) and it seemed really demeaning. Then came a commercial, advertising medicine for bipolar depression disorder. I scoffed at the commercial (Here I'm still a little ignorant about mental illnesses, DESPITE loving to read about them and people who have them) , because my sister and I often made jokes that depression wasn't a disease. Then came this week. Someone said something (Not even directed at me mind you) and i became extremely depressed. After the depression episode, I began to think of how many I had. There was last year when I became depressed by seeing others play basketball, and even went as far as to lay on the floor and refuse to get up. Earlier than then, there were times I would think about suicide, but realized I was way to scared. Then EARLIER than all of these was the time when I had a great day at school and suddenly exploded with anger and depression. I looked up bipolar depression online yesterday and was surprised to see that I have most of the symptoms. I don't want to be one of those idiots bragging about having a disease when I don't. I'm also afraid that if I DO have the disease my parents won't believe me/or will dismiss it. Is there another way to find out and treat the disease without my parents knowing? Why not? The FDA just banned clove cigarettes since it was thought to be attracting kids to smoke. They arent even advertised on tv like alcohol is. I havent seen an ad or a commercial or a billboard of cloves, tobacco or seen any kids smoking cloves before and never even heard of them until they were banned. I know for sure that lots of kids everywhere are drinking Smirnoff and Mikes Hard Lemonade because of the sweet taste it has. Those are definitely attracting kids to drink! Why wont the FDA ban that if we dont want the kids to be drinking either? If clove cigarettes are banned because they supposedly tempt kids to start smoking because of the flavors (despite the fact that you have to reach a certain age to buy them).......... Shouldnt all those sweet flavored alcohol drinks with colorful packaging that the kids might like because it doesnt taste so nasty and bitter also be banned so they arent tempted to drink either? Even if adults of a legal age wants to drink it. Do you gotta protect the kids and ban them all together for everyone so no one can have them even if they are old enough to drink or smoke? Dont you care about the kids??? Do you want them to start drinking??? if so, why not have all those sweet flavored alcohol drinks illegal. Since you dont want them smoking, clove cigarettes are illegal because of the same reason. Why not ban both? more

My husband and I went to see a space for rent for a Hair Salon,we loved it and the landlords loved us. The landlord like us so much she loaned my husband 5,000 dollars to purchase Equipment And he has spent his saving of 2000.00 on other necessities. This was July 21, 2010. The salon is now completely furnished and painted all advertising has been put out (flyer's,Business cards etc...) We originally agreed verbally to a 3 year lease with an option to buy. Now the landlord states she only wants a month to month and has yet to give a a lease to give to give to the health department. We have done everything else with the city (state Connecticut). She states that if she doesn't want us there she will just change the locks and we can do nothing we have invested so much, we have two employees prepared to start on the 1st. Can we sue? Voting Question: How much is the Pro Sports Tax in America?

How much do I spend a year on Pro Sports (and I never even watch them)? Use Phoenix for an example. The tax payers build the stadiums and all the profits go to private parties. I have no choice as to what utility company I use, nor does anyone else, but they run commercials at every break telling me how they are working hard to lower my rates. Same with my health care. Cigna was my only choice. Why are they sponsoring sporting events with my money? Every commercial is taking money out of my pocket and giving it to somebody in the Pro Sports gravy train or a New York advertising executive. I'm guessing that if you add it all up it has to be a significant amount of money that I have to shell out for nothing in return, and I mean nothing. Don't tell me these people are teaching my children values or are benefiting society in any positive manner! Next question.
