Voting Question: My ex boss won't pay me?

I took a job selling cars at a brand new show room and I was told they would be advertising the company soon because nobody knew we were there but 2 months passed and still nothing so because I wasn't earning any money there I decided to look for work elsewere. I handed my notice in a few weeks ago, I asked if I could be released from the company early, I needed to start my new job so I could start earning money but the boss refused and said I have to work my 1 weeks notice or he wouldn't pay me, so I did. I was due to be paid yesterday but nothing went in to my account. I got in touch with my ex boss an he said he is not paying me because I owe money to him he advanced me £500 which I knew about but he still owes me £500 but wont pay because he said I have taken days of sick which I haven't and he wont pay me commission for cars I have sold and also he said I have to pay £200 for a damaged car. I cant afford to pay solicitors is there anything I can do about this. more

Hi so i have opened my ow boutique, it has been open for about 7 weeks now. There is another clothes shop down the road from us that have been there for about 3 years ihave been having real big problems with. I found a designer wholesaler which were happy to supply me there bands except from one because they suppy the other shop down the road from me, ok so i understand that nt a problem, i sent thousands on the other brands and they have been selling really well. I put an ad in the local paper advertising these brands and now my wholsaler have said they can no longer supply me because this other shop have complained !! Hold on a min you said you were ok to supply me except the one brand they use how can they now say they cant supply me any brands? just because this woman who owns the shop has complained because she has seen my ad in the paper. I woudnt mind but she dos'nt sell these other brands so how can she claim something she dosnt sell? I'am thinking off seeking legal advice because this isnt right. more

A friend wants to me to buy her some cigarettes in the duty freeshop at Heathrow when i fly out to visit her, i cant find out any information other than they have an "extensive range" of cigarettes. Which from previous experience is is not really true. My friend has a specific requirement and last i checked buying cigarettes was not illegal, so why are the brands that they sell not listed? Supermarkets in the UK list what they stock online so i dont think that it is an advertising restriction. I missed yesterday in class when he went over it so i'm not entirely sure, thanks for any help : ) Higher Business Management Homework A large firm has developed a new product. Describe the factors that should be considered when pricing this new product. The market segment in which the organisation wishes to sell it’s product or service must be considered to achieve maximum profit, or any profit at all because if the product is aimed at being sold to working class consumers then the product is unlikely to sell well in this segmentation if the product has a high cost (if it is unnecessary. E.g. Plasma televisions, video games, dishwashers). If the product being released when there are already many competitors e.g. soft drink companies such as Pepsi or Coca Cola then there would need to be a vast amount of money spent on promotion and advertising and is unlikely to sell well if it is more expensive than the commonplace recognized brands. If the product is innovative and new to the market then there are likely to be very few or no competitors so prices can be set initially high when it is introduced. more

Resolved Question: I paint designs on trainers. Would it be against the law to sell these on ebay if, for eg, theyre on adidas?

This started when I painted my own designs on Adidas trainers. They turned out so good that I decided to advertise on ebay as being able to do whatever design the winning bidder wants. However, I'm unsure as to whether I would be allowed to sell these on a branded trainer. People sell Adidas/Nike/Converse trainers all the time on ebay, so if I paid for them is it up to me to do whatever I want to them before selling them on? Or is the best thing to do, to get the winning bidder to send their trainers to me for me to draw on, and therefore I'm only selling my design, and not the actual trainer? Thanks more

I have now rephrased my original question based on answers received. Im currently at uni studying an advertising course and have been given a brief asking me to brand and advertising a fashion label. Ive decided that my brand will specialise in nightwear as i know there are not many shops that sell these specifically. I have limited my target audience now to women aged 25 - 35. The concept behind my brand is simply feminine and elegant night wear, it aims to cater for those who want nightwear that is comfortable and cosy and also for those who want something a bit more special. It is not a shop selling lingerie etc purely nightwear that includes pyjamas, nighties, chemise, baby dolls, robes, negligee etc. The label itself prides itself on quality products and quality service. I really want to know is how interested my target audience is in this concept? What they would like to see in the store i.e interior decoration, layout, branding, colours etc? And also where they currently shop, eat, visit, do for entertainment etc? Any feedback on this would be brilliant, and very helpful. I am unsure on the laws in the UK regarding this matter.. Say I were to buy genuine designer clothing from a wholesaler found online, from the UK, made my own clothing website and advertised and sold these brand new designer clothes on my website, do I have the right to do so? Hi, My brother-in-law lives in China and a group of his friends have set up a brand new nursery for 90 children (based in ten classes). They have all the Chinese teaching staff that they need but they really want to set up an English style curriculum and have the traditional 'Mary Poppins' style teachers that many people associate with English teachers! How can I advertise for that easily?! They want three teachers with one of them being the 'Head'. The pay and conditions are really good (25k for the teachers and 40k for the Head, accommodation and full time translators, flights etc) so I thought that would attract people to apply but I am not sure of the best place to advertise. Why is it in todays society is it ok to be sexist against men in advertising.
