How do you make a complaint for false advertising? Is it a government agency or does it have to be a class action-style lawsuit? Just really mad at a couple of companies: - Sprint's Everything Data plan: If I want to get a 4G phone, I have to $10 extra per month, if I want to tether, I have to $10 extra per month, if I want to use a 4G phone as a wifi hotspot, I have to $30 extra per month. That's not "everything data". That's not even half of everything data. - Time Warner Cable: "The home of free HD", but they want an extra $7.95 a month per HD receiver for an equipment lease... and they don't let you buy your own HD receivers. Okay, I'm an open minded graduate, looking for a bit of cash. Recently while trawling through a recruitment website, I stumbled across an advert looking for people to feature in adult movies. People could either take up fully clothed roles and feature as extras, or they could have more "hands on roles" if they were comfortable to do this. Naturally I clicked on the link http://fantasy-flix.com/ and emailed them. They phoned me back that same day, explaining who they were, and how they operated etc. It all sounded fairly professional (actors are all tested beforehand and so on). They then asked me a few questions so they could obtain a profile of me, which they then uploaded to their distributors. Because I was unwilling to do certain things (I'm not THAT open-minded), my profile came back with a 45% success rate. This means that 45% of their clients would hire me. She said this was a fairly good return, and that the minimum they'll accept is 30%. She then asked me for a picture, which I duly supplied. At the risk of sounding arrogant or conceited, I'm a rather good-looking guy, and I work out a lot. Having received the pics, the girl that I'd been dealing with was adamant that I would easily obtain employment. She asked if I would be able to work immediately, to which I replied yes. As she scrolled through her database, she informed me that there were jobs very near me starting in two weeks. It's a days work, 3-4 hrs, and I get a minimum of £800. Tempting? But here's the part that's left me concerned. They ask for advertising fees as they're essentially a recruitment agency. It's £200 for 3 months, £400 for 6 months or £600 for a year. Currently, I am living in Des Moines, IA but working for a company in Chicago, IL from my home. I have been with my current advertising agency for over 5 years and they just recently allowed me to work remotely after having to relocate for my husband. It's a good and stable job with lots of perks, however, it is very stressful and i'm not sure how long they will let me work from home. Hi, I was working in an estate agency . One day , a sales person from my local borough came to my office in order to promote an advertisment opportunity in the local borough street map. I was interested but I told the gentleman that I would advertise for the new company I was about to open myself in two months. He agreed with the conditions and took my personal details for the meantine and he was supposed to give me a call back and take the relevant informations that i wanted to print on the street map. Two months later,I reveive the printed street maps along wiht an invoice, al when I look up for the ad, it was all my personal details were printed. It included my home address,my cell phone number,my personal email address,and my home phone number along with the old agency company name and their fax number. I was furious to see this! First of all the ad made no sense since all the informations were mixed up and secondly, my personal data were printed like this and now are in reach of the whole community of my local borough. I was shocked to know the council itself could make such a huge mistake. I have been receiving so many calls on my phone (both cell and home) ,my email id is full of spams. Now that they are asking for the invoice payment,I wrote them a letter to complain about the situation and recently they wrote back to me saying they refuse my complain and still expect the payment. The reason they give me was that I was suppoised to call them in roder to tell them the infromation I wanted to be printed on the ad,they said they called at home and no one anser and plus they said they send many fax at my old agency! Why would they send fax there when i specifically had told them I will not be there anymore. They finish the letter by stating that since they had no reply from me,they printed my personal data!! I still cannot beleive they did that just for the sake of an ad and some hundred pounds.I mean the council prefered to print my personal details rather than cancelleing the ad. I called them when i recieved their letter and still stand by saying they did nothing wrong. I dont understand why they dont realize the gravity of their mistake . I work with my clients personal data,I know how careful i have to be with their details ,any mistake and I can be sued for data protection leakage. Please help to reply back to them with strong words so this issue is for once and for all finished. I will not pay for this ad .Period. I want them to realize their mistake ,and compasate me for the damages it did to my personal life ( compensation is just to scare them off,I dont want it lol) And now then sent me a court notice saying that if I still dont pay within 3 days they will take me to court. I was working in the insurance industry and have 5 years accounting experience. I really don't know why I can't find a job with my experience I have gained over the years. I am 26 and have applied for about 650 jobs online since being out of work. I know there is alot of competition out there but I must be doing something wrong. I recently attended a job seminar which was very helpful which was funded through the job centre. I have since updated my CV, joined ‘linkedin’ as the guy said a lot of companies are not going through job agencies anymore and are advertising jobs through social networking sites to reduce costs although I am finding this really tough as I can’t seem to find a job which matches my level of experience. Apart from applying for jobs online, I have emailed about 250-300 companies directly, emailed old clients I use to work with and have emailed former work colleagues/managers but unfortunately nothing turned up. I have not done any studies or anything just yet as I am waiting to start work and then take my accountancy studies once I have joined a company as they can fund that for you. I think also the longer I am out of work the harder I am going to find it especially as employers don’t like when people have huge gaps on their CV. Every day apart from the weekend is like Groundhog Day for me. Wake up late, look for work on about 10 different job sites, chase job agencies, watch TV, have dinner, go gym, check Facebook then play Playstation 3 until the early hours. I use to go travelling quite a bit and would like to do some more once I start earning some money so that is another out of many other reasons why I would like to get back into work. I am so eager to get back into work its unreal. My parents just say keep going and something will turn up and im sure something will, im not going to give up as I know its just a matter of time. I sent a demo to them for voice-over work. A gentleman from there called me and told me in no uncertain terms he wants to sign me. Then he advised me it would cost $225.00 to put me on something called "Breakdown Express" which he said would advertise my talent for possible clients for one year. My concern is that I read on greatvoice.com, which is supposed a premier resource for V/O talent that no legitimate agency needs money up front; real agencies get paid AFTER you get work. Has anyone worked with CA Talent, or can point me in the right direction? I don't have a lot of money, so $225.00 is a lot for me to just burn on another scam. more

I have been fascinated with the musical styles used for television for some time, being that they are generally very ambient or are subtle in composition, and are intended to emphasize the emotion and action of the plot... So, recently I have been watching some television shows that have great music (such as The X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Monster Quest), and really trying to analyze and emulate what ideas seem to be standard, and trying to add my "touch" as well. My idea that I have been working on is to write several short pieces for different genres, and then try to contact different tv stations or advertising agencies and see if anyone would be interested... Does this sound like a good approach?I've been playing music for 15 or so years. I am mostly a guitar player, but I also play bass, drums, hand-drums, and a little piano. Voting Question: How can a landlord advertise amenities we do not have such as fitness rooms?

We have not had a fitness room for 6 years, I believe. They promise. It is run by Morgan Properties in PG County. The only recourse so far, unless you are a lawyer, is the Atty Gen. Office. They have no legal jurisdiction. They make an apt. for a conference. Meanwhile, I could not go to the apt, the Atty Gen office was supposed to change the date....NOT A WORD. Taxation without representation. Selectivity of laws. Yes, tenants have rights, but we need an agency that can legally represent us in a court of law. By the way, one of my leases said I could not have a jury trial in the event of a lawsuit. They have had a few, including towing cars illegally from our parking lot. I just paid my rent. Saw the amenities. We are also paying Ratio Utility Billing and BGE. The RUBS goes to a company in CA. The lease states it is not a utility company. In essence, we are paying twice for electricity. Meanwhile, I read the website for my apartment community. 1) Our apt door is NOT secured 2) no fitness rooms 3) I have an old lease, never negated...btw they illegally took away my storage bin without notice. I did have a lawyer, although I did all the work. However, he changed his mind. His buddy works for my apartment. 4) They cannot keep their accounting correct. I'm tired. I have pages and pages of evidence against this company and apartment community. In fact, in 2007, a congressman called them and told them Rubs could not be added to my lease. They are informing new tenants that it was instituted in 2010, a lie. Some tenants were able to go to court and are not paying the RUBS, which amounts to $65 for 2 bedrooms no matter how many people live there. The $5 is for trash. Don't you think $1215 is enough to cover water, sewage, trash, heat, and a/c. BTW, the web-site says that some utilities are paid. I would love an answer to that one. Heat and a/c are controlled by BG&E. BTW, the water company was of no help. The average electric is $65 after the state of MD deregulated it; it was about $25 a mo. before. We have NO METERS. The meter for BGE is in another building. I pay for a legal group but they are useless. Talked to fellow tenants about a lawsuit together. He has legal background. Tired of their lies. In the end, I know people lost their homes, how about all the evictions from apartments and rentals? Our landlords are gouging us. People are being evicted that have 2 tenants working good jobs. They can't even put a simple key guard on the lock. The lobby door was out of order for at least 3 years. I added a latch. Do not rent in PG county unless the complex has a very good rating and includes all utilities past and present. I know that some tenants are not paying the RUBS. They are not paying higher rents. I sign a new lease, I'm a new tenant. Love to hear some feedback. more

At what level of government do you draw the line? federal? State? dogcatcher? What happened to the whole 'Privacy Policy" with them anyway? The search engine provider , in this case Yahoo. Did they sell your privacy down the river? 5 years ago Consensus seems to be either to stop using there service or to complain to them then stop. For Myself it is not that they along with MSN and aol released the info without a second thought, but that Google recognised what a precedent the request was in light of other recent attacks on constitutional rights and Civil Liberties.... Do I truly think that a list of randome searches is going to finally disclose my fascination for leopard skin thongs? probably not... Is the potential for abuse, specially in light of the current administrations cavilier interpretations of constitutional law, a distinct probability.... Most assuredly... In essence I am I think Yahoo and the rest really Need to understand that our participation with them is voluntary and is based on our perceptions of their integrity, which is quite shaky at the moment. more

I have been working in film/television/commercial production for 10 years. I decided that I want to make a jump to creative and find a position with an ad agency. My artwork has been featured on three networks, I have also designed graphics for some other big name brands, and I have won a couple of big contests... including one for Adobe. We have had our house on the market now, nearly 1 year. So as well as our EA we have decided to try and sell our property ourselves now, we are placing all these free ads on sites etc and set up a website for our house for sale. This is a hypothetical question, but here goes, If for the sake of argument we manage to sell our home ourselves, through ads we have placed ourselves or through our website, not through any form of advertising on the part of our EA, do we still have to pay our fees to them. Resolved Question: Scammed by an english website, what can I do?

Hello, I have been advertising on my websites for this english website homepagefriends, now its called supportingfriends. They are SupportingFriends Limited, a company registered in England & Wales. They are I have referred 100s of users to their site, but now they have no paid me in over a year, and they don't react to contact. Now in Germany I could order Inkasso (debt collection) agencies, or a court Mahnung (admonition), or simply press charges on the police website. All costs would be charged to them. Is there similar methods in England I could use? Anyone know a collection agency that deals with small amounts of internet funds? I could understand this happening with an overseas company, but England? There must be something that can be done. more
